NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO GET SERVICED HERE, THEY ARE THE WORST. I’ve had nothing but problem after problem since bringing it here, I fixed a power steering leak here, picked it up said it was all good to go, noticed the next day it was still leaking, brought it back and said they didn’t do a good job fixing the leak, and they would fix it, also said they would do a repair that costs around $1200 free of charge, the part was just back ordered and they would give me a call when the received it, never got a call back, Mark never calls back so if he says he’s going to get back to you he’s not going to. After a couple more problems I bring it in again for a driveshaft repair ( that is what they said was the problem ) I purchased an oem part and brought it in to get replaced because they were going to take a month to get the part in, dropped the car off Thursday night and was fixed Friday and wasn’t able to pick the car up until Wednesday after calling them multiple times, they ended up installing the (free) part and tried to charge me $2000 for it when they said it would be free for being a loyal customer, called and was told the noise was gone and it was good to drive I pick up the car and it makes the EXACT SAME NOISE, nothing different then when I dropped it off, told me they test drove it but the car has the exact same miles as when I brought it in, and if they were to have test drive it the noise is clear as day, i should also mention they went thru my cemetery console for no reason and left some of my papers on the floor, THINK TWICE BEFORE COMING HERE,
Theres many places you can have your vehicles serviced at.....but when a business makes a mistakes and reaches out to you to hear your concern and resolve the issue....this truly sets them apart everyone else. Ive never purchased a vehicle here but every vehicle Ive owned has only been serviced by Thayer. Justin, the service manager, truly amazing! Showing a customer you care is one sure fire way to keep business, especially mine!!
I was in need of a new vehicle and I wanted to stay local, so I chose Thayer Jeep. I was able to research vehicle using their website and this was just as easy as working with the sales team at the dealership. I worked specifically with Tyler. He was very friendly and helped me find the vehicle I wanted. They also worked with my budget and I was able to leave happy and with a new vehicle. Everyone at the dealership was very friendly and helped me through the process, which actually went quite quick. They were also very patient with my young child who was getting very grumpy halfway through the process. The entire experience was positive. I would recommend Thayer for anyone who need to purchase a new vehicle.
Bought my CPO 2017 Grand caravan here. Al Smiths had the best value for what I was looking for within 200 miles of Toledo Ohio. We have been going to Thayer for our truck service for some time. We are very pleased with the quality of the worked performed. Recently, we needed additional service on our truck. The service manager, Mark, was very kind and worked to squeeze us in even through the shop was extremely busy. The Sales Manager, Ryan Thayer made sure that we had a vehicle to drive home because we are a one vehicle home. The truck was ready as promised and we returned to the dealership to pick up our truck. We decided to inquire about the Dodge Durango that was loaned to us. Both Rob and Tyler, were very helpful and knowledgeable about the car and answered any questions we had. They work with us to secure financing within our monthly budget. The finalizing of the contact went smoothly and effortlessly. Overall. it was a very pleasant experience. Tyler even called us back the next day too see how everything was going and if we had any questions. We highly recommend this dealership and its staff for your new car needs. .

We wanted to get a new car from Thayer because it is so close to our house. We were planning to just order our new Jeep Grand Cherokee L but the chip shortage had us worried we wouldn’t be able to get what we wanted. Tyler took down everything we wanted in our car and found us the perfect vehicle! He did a great job keeping us informed and made the process super easy! We recommend Thayer and Tyler if you are looking for a new car.
Came in for an alignment and wouldnt ask for a better experience. Told them my concerns and once they got the car in and figured out, they said I could come in and see what was going on with the car. From the service guys to the tech, definitely felt treated right. Will definitely go out of the way for this service

I had my vehicle serviced here a few times and had a great experience. I had warranty work done as well as regular servicing (three separate visits in the span of a few months). Absolutely fantastic - they did the jobs on time and we’re great at communicating. Mark was great to work with! Even gave me a ride home after dropping off my car.Highly recommend the service. Never purchased anything here (although I tried a couple times with no avail), but would certainly recommend the dealership for folks looking for FCA service.
My most recent experience with Thayer CDJR exceeded ALL expectations! The ‘salesmanship’ displayed by, a fairly new, Tyler Herrig was a refreshing engagement. No hard sale tactics, just honest, genuine open communications. Even when I thought that the deal may not happen, Tyler remained in communication and did an outstanding job of being resourceful and getting us “over the hump”. That said, the entire experience was a total success thanks, in part, to Ryan Thayer’s total commitment toward client satisfaction. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone shopping for a new/used vehicle.
Doug Eilberg sold me a nice older Dodge Journey. The car is great but Doug’s attention to detail and suggestions were off the chain! He patiently picked out some cars for me to try out and we eliminated them together like a team to find the right fit for me and my budget. I had an amazing experience buying a used car from Al Smith. I received all the help that I needed plus some from Nicole and Jamie Navarre. Even while I was waiting on these two people, others were constantly coming up to me and asking if I needed anything and making sure that I wasbeing helped. They worked with me to find what was best for me and made sure that I was taken care of in every aspect. Fantastic dealership with even better customer service. It really felt like they had my best interest in mind.
My fiance and I bought a used car from Al Smiths in November 2019. There were many complications during the buying process. This was shocking since my family knew Jim Smith, the owner, and bought all their cars from him for decades. After being assured issues would be taken care of by Jim himself, we continued to get the run around...for 3 months!When Thayer took over the dealership I was very nervous. However, they did everything they could to resolve our issues...at their own expense; even though they had inherited the problem. The GM was amazing, taking the time to meet with us and discuss options so that he could figure out how to make things right. Even Bob Thayer had a hand in it!I am so grateful that Thayer owns this dealership now. They are amazing and will continue to get our business for decades to come!!! Phenomenal experience!!! We drove 3 hours round trip to hopefully buy a minivan and we were not disappointed! The staff went above and beyond to help us get the van we wanted and out of a terrible lease/vehicle that we hated. I cannot express enough of my gratitude to Rocky, Jamie and Phil. They truly showed us what a positive car buying experience should be and treated us so well as if we were their family. Absolutely exceptional!!! Talk about Family! The team at Thayer Chrysler is officially family! We had to make an emergency road trip to BG for a funeral and realized while planning the trip home to Texas that we did not have our wheel lock for our tires. If we would have gotten a flat tire we would not have been able to change our tires. The parts guys and their team found a wheel lock that matched ours and were able to remove the lug nuts. It was a huge relief and gave me comfort knowing that I didn’t have to worry about getting a flat tire on our trip home back to Texas.
Worked with Nicole to purchase a car - she was amazing! I received a fair price for both my new car and trade in. They’re friendly atmosphere is unparalleled to other car dealerships. I’ll certainly continue to buy cars from them in the future. Can not recommend them enough!
We bought a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado from here back in February and have had nothing but problems with it. 2 weeks after having it had to have the throttle position sensor on it replaced. Then within a month later the fuel pump control module on it had to be replaced and here now its leaking gas, something to do with the fuel system, we havent even put 7,000 miles on it.We feel they sold us a lemon. Definitely dont recommend going here. Havent even had the car 6 months and we have had to stick a 1,000 in it!! It had less than 100,000 miles on it when we bought it.
I purchased a 2016 Jeep Cherokee last week. The service was excellent. Especially from my salesperson Dapper who went the extra mile and truly proved that they treat you like family. I highly recommend seeing her if youre looking to purchase a vehicle. She really works hard to make sure youre completely happy with your purchase. 🙂
Detryck did a great job of communicating and hustling to make sure a deal was done for me. The two things that stuck out about working with Detryck was his work ethic & effort. Detryck is a new salesman but took the time to educate himself and know everything about the car I was purchasing. Every question or comment I had, he had the answer which showed his effort to be educated on the product. Second, my man literally ran to wherever he was needed to make things work quickly and efficiently. Didn’t pressure, was understanding and did his best to make sure everything worked well. It was a pleasure to do business with him.
Had an amazing experience working with Dapper! I was looking for a very specific Jeep Grand Cherokee. Called her up on Monday, she found one in Michigan for me and had it delivered Tuesday. Today, Wednesday I drove my new 2021 Grand Cherokee Laredo home! 10Out of 10 would recommend Dapper Bockbrader and crew at Thayer Chrysler Dodge Jeep!
Went to purchase a vehicle. Explained my current situation of already in a high apr loan on a vehicle and owed more than its worth but they said they would cover that loss with rebates and employee discount. They said they would contact us next day and never heard back from them. To me, that is the worst kind of customer service!! Even if they couldnt help, I can respect a call saying as much. But as a former car salesman I could read between the lines.It was the last 2018 of that make and model so if they can get the sale to someone who isnt aware of the model clearance of employee discount and rebates that are available then that would give them a higher commission. Some dealerships strive on customer satisfaction and others on profit. Customer Satisfaction is a big thumbs down.I hope to find a dealership with good ethics that I can do lifelong business with but this one is not it!!!
They had a vehicle listed on CarGurus, and the morning I saw it, the listing had been up for four days. I called to ask if it could come see it, because I was in the area. I was told theyd check and see if it was available, since it was a new trade in, and call me back within 5 minutes... Half an hour later as I was approaching the dealership, I received call back stating it would not be available until one or two days later, since it was in the middle of being serviced. I said that was too bad because I was in town but I understood and would come look at it as soon as possible. The saleswoman agreed to email me pictures as soon as it was ready. That was around 3pm, and then dealership closed at 6. The very next day, at 10:30 in the morning, I received an email that said they were sorry, the car has been sold the night before, to someone who was agreeable to look at it before it had been serviced. I had never been offered that option, or would have been glad to look at it without it being quite ready to go. Not only was it frustrating that a vehicle was listed that was supposedly not available to even look at, but also that when I did make a legitimate inquiry, I was put off.
I can’t say enough good things about Aaron and the whole service staff! They really helped me out in a pinch when I showed up with no appointment and a drivers side window that wouldn’t roll up in 16 degree weather. They fit me into their already really busy day and for how much they helped me out the price was more than reasonable! Thank you so much for great service and helping me in a pinch, I really appreciate everything the service department did to get my jeep fixed!
Al Smith boasts excellent customer service and Ive been told they bend over backwards to help their clients. However, when I called to get some information on the trade in value of my car and what they had available in my price range, I received a call back telling me to go to the bank, take out a title loan on my current car and pay for it to be repaired instead of buying another. Not impressed in the least, and I will be purchasing a car elsewhere. They didnt even pretend to try to help.
Excellent place to buy a vehicle. We drove 90 miles first because of the price and personal interest in us as customers before we even arrived at dealership. Rocky was our sales person super person to work with. Everyone was extremely courteous and helpful. Definitely recommend this place for buying a vehicle.

Was traveling back home to Michigan from Florida when I got a nail stuck in my tire, 200 miles away from home- driving on a donut. When I called the nearest dealership they told me to come in and they would help immediately! When I arrived Chris and Kevin insisted on helping unload my trunk to get to my tire to patch the hole. Within 20 minutes my tire was sealed, put back on, had my spare back in the capartment and they started loading my luggage back in! I’ve been to many dealerships and by far this was the best one! Chris and Kevin were very helpful, polite, quick, and flat out amazing. Everyone at this dealership was super nice and if you ever need to go to a dealership, choose this one!
Absolutely amazing service! Justice Springstead helped me with a 2018 Jeep Compass. She was extremely knowledgeable. Anything you need to know theyll have an answer. Giving this dealer ship a 1 start review is by far even way to high of a review. I am writing this review for anyone who take their vehicles here for repairs done. Recently took my new jeep Sahara for some warranty repairs due to a decent oil leak coming from the front timing cover with just shy of 12k miles. I chose this dealership since other reputable shops around the area had been a few weeks out from service and due to the amount of oil leaking I really wanted this repair done sooner than later before it would lead to more issues. So I had made an appointment with Jon in service who was very friendly and said bring it on in and told me it was something they could take care of the same week this was now being done on 8/2/17. I had picked the wrangler up on that Saturday 8/5 and brought it home. Once back home I decided to just look it over as any customer would now this is where I had noticed left over oil under neath along with some coolant so giving them the benefit of the doubt I just spray it all down and figure just some light oil and coolant from install and coolant from maybe just topping off the overflow bottle that was by far NOT the case what so ever. Come Sunday after putting some miles on it and parking it is when I noticed MORE oil on the ground thats when it was noticed this horrible repair that this mechanic has attempted to do along with more horrible issues such as backed off nuts on intake manifold bracket, wire harness looms not secured on both sides of valve covers. And the worst part of all is damage to the right front fender flare from where someone attempted to pry plastic rivets apart and scratched up the paint along with leaving three rivets out after repair. All this damage and nobody was notified it was just left to be as if nobody will see it. So now this is the worst part of all I call back kind of upset and angry about the damage and leaking oil and spoke with Kevin in service and he told me to bring it in, on 8/8 the jeep was dropped off and I was reassured EVERYTHING would be taken care of what a lie this was. Little did they know I had exact mileage wrote done along with photos. Picked up jeep today 8/9 not only did it have the same oil sticker and the same percent on oil monitor that apparently is no big deal for them to reset when changing oil. Now for this repair you would need to drain oil again and refill after repair had been done. Not only that but the vehicle had same mileage and exact same amount of gas left in it, meaning they didnt even put any miles on it OR let it sit and run to heat up and confirm oil leaks are now gone. Oh and the fender flare I was told their one and only body guy was on vacation so that also is still damage and not fixed. I am beyond disappointed and will also seek a claim through Chrysler to this horrible service department. It is unbelievable with a new building and friendly staff that service could lie about repairs being done let alone treat brand new vehicles like junk.
I pulled in to pick up my husband one day and immediately had a very nice gentleman approach me asking if i needed help or assistance! That to me makes a great sales rep! He was on the ball and wasnt pushy at all, he seemed to be concerned with me and if I really needed help with anything!
Took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in as it was running rough and check engine light was on. I made an incorrect assumption that since they were a Jeep dealership and this was a fairly common issue, they would be able to fix it. The FIRST time I took it there, they stated it needed new spark plugs. Ok. Just fix the problem. The light came back on on my way home!! The car ran worse than it did to begin with! The SECOND time it was there almost a week and the light came back on AGAIN on my way home!! They were unable to to fix this common problem. They wanted me to bring it in a THIRD time!! No thank you. A local mechanic had my Jeep one afternoon, fixed the car (a co2 sensor) and has run like new ever since. Al Smith would not refund any money nor did they solve my problem. I would never give them my business much less trust them with a car problem! DO NOT let them touch your car!!
I bought a car from them and it is clear to me now that they wiped the codes on it because three days of driving it and a bunch of codes came up which will end up costing me an arm and a leg. Thought I was getting a good deal but ended up getting screwed. NEVER buy a used car from these con people.
The team here does everything they can to help you out. I worked just down the street for 2 years and they took AMAZING care of my jeep. When something was wrong, they ran the diagnostic software ASAP and called to get clearance to begin whatever work needed to be completed. This is a team that I will miss since I moved out the region.

THEY WERE STRAIGHT UP LYING TO ME TO TRY AND GET MONEY OUT OF ME. Thankfully i’m smart & had my car towed elsewhere & they fixed the issue asap.DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE EVER!!
My friend and I was looking for purchase Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee recently and hac really great experience with Al Smith Chrysler Dodge Jeep. I talked with the sales guy called AJ by e-mail and phone for many questions about price, model selection and some other relevant question.AJ provides us some really helpful advises, patient services and honest price. I dont know if I will finally purchase with Al Smith in this deal but here will be my first choice for my next purchase even I can not finally make the deal with them at this time. I will also highly suggest with my friends and any one else who want to purchase Jeep to talk with Al Smith.
I drove off the lot with a mis representated vechile. They sure tried their best to switch me over to something else. If best was to overprice quotes and not help with anything afterwards. I will say the staff is nice but it only goes as far as making a sale apparently
Rocky was a great salesman I got a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country minivan low miles less then 12,000 MI Excellent minivan all of the bells and whistles I was looking for in a vehicle and got a great deal excellent people beautiful facility family-friendly and pet friendly I drove 3 hours one way just to get my vehicle at this dealership I would definitely buy another vehicle from them in the future.

2022-05-28I bought a vehicle from Dapper 3 years ago, and today I traded that vehicle in and bought a truck off of Tyler. Would highly recommend this dealership! Tyler, and Rob when above and beyond to meet my expectations. The finance manager (Justice I think?) was awesome as well! We had a few bumps in the road to trading my car in and getting me out the door with the new one, but they handled everything great! When I’m ready again here in a few years, I’ll be going back for sure!

It arrived earlier than I thought and every interaction I had with the dealership was amazing. This is my 3rd wrangler and this is the best experience I’ve ever had with a dealership.

I have 3 chrysler vehicles and have had my cars treated so well by the great people here in comparison to Mercedes, BMW, and Ford dealers. Didnt want their service to go unnoticed, im in toledo but still make the drive for service at thayer. Patrick and Justin are wonderful.

2022-06-21UPDATE 6/21/22: New service manager Joe is an exceptional employee. He took complete ownership of this issue as if it was his own truck. Helped push the Chrysler engineering team to release the update for my truck and many other customers dealing with similar issues. I got my truck back today with the latest Uconnect software update that is supposed to fix everything. Only time will tell, but very pleased with the help and understanding thus far.ORIGINAL 5/31/2022: DO NOT BUY ANY CHRYSLER PRODUCT. I took delivery of a 2022 Ram 1500 big horn just back in December. I only have 5k miles on the truck now and its been back to the dealership over 5 times now for various issues. The sales department has no issue jumping thru hoops to get you a deal and get you out the door with a new vehicle in a very timely manner. GREAT! But as soon as you call back with a problem with your brand new vehicle, nobody seems to care or wants to help. My truck has numerous issues with the Uconnect system that effect everyday driving, functionality, and safety and Im pretty much told to just sit back and deal with it until they come up with a fix. Im over it. Im beyond fed up that a truck of this caliper has so many annoying issues and nobody can fix them warrantied or not. Im sick of paying good money every month for a truck that has so many issues this early in its life. Horrible experience, will never buy Chrysler again.

2021-09-28I own a 2018 wrangler jl rubicon that I had purchased new from this dealership. The touch screen started to separate on it. It now has 39k miles. My warranty was only good until 36K. I called Thayer Jeep and spoke to Patrick in the service department and told him of my problem. He said let me talk to my boss and get back to you. Just a short time later he called back and said they felt like it was the right thing to do to cover it. That’s what I call great customer service. 2022-05-06I recently worked with salesman Matt Smith when I purchased a used truck. Matt was knowledgeable and patient while I test drove several vehicles. He allowed me to test drive the vehicle for a long as I needed to make sure it was the one I wanted. I also worked with his manager, Rob, and Justus in the finance department. Everyone was professional and proficient with their job duties.

2022-05-21We found a 2004 Dodge Ram Truck on the lot. Verbal asking price was $18,999. We found the exact same truck listed online for $15,898 through Thayer. Had we not done our research online we wouldn’t have known the price discrepancy and $3000.00 markup during the sale. The salesman did give our deposit back however we will continue to look elsewhere.
