From the outside I wasnt sure what to make of this place but it is awesome! They do great business here & for good reason. We came at 7 pm on a Friday and were seated without a wait. Waiter was super friendly knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The food is spicy & delicious. I recommend the basil fried rice. This place is BYOB which is awesome as well.
First time trying Thai Kitchen Restaurant and was not disappointed. The bubble tea was one of the best I have ever had! Not too sweet and excellent taste! The food was awesome and I would like to try more of the menu. What really makes this restaurant amazing was the service. So friendly and so accommodating. I cant wait to order again!
My brother and I had a craving for Thai so we stopped in for lunch. Our server was polite and prompt. The food was flavorful and had a great spicy kick to it. We both really appreciated the condiment tray as well to add extra spice. Sticky rice and ice cream is a must.
This was my 1st time eating at this Thai restaurant! My son and I stopped for dinner before he went to work. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and the food was amazing. Id defiantly go again and would recommend this place to my friends and family. VERY happy we chose this place.👍👍😁
Excellent Thai food. Staff was very friendly, attentive, but let you enjoy your meal too. The pad Thai was excellent, as were the very fresh spring rolls. The staff was even chatting with various guests about Thailand and it was interesting to listen to them seamlessly go from English to their native language.
Awesome spot! We had the Basil Fried Rice and Chicken Pad Thai. Both were great. Take note of the spice rating/definition on the menu. I like spicy stuff so I went with a 6 and definitely felt it full on by the end. Would probably go with a 5 next time. The Durian was also very good as were the Milo Smoothie and Pink Milk bubble drink.
Im visiting Cleveland from out of town and just had dinner at Thai kitchen restaurant. the food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Theres a page on the menu that says hometown recipes, we thought they meant Lakewood Ohio. Turns out theres our specialties from the village in Thailand where the chefs family still lives. I will definitely be trying that next time and I will be going back.
As native Thai, this is as close and authentic as you can get compared to eating in Thailand. Level 10 spicy does not get toned down like many Thai restaurants. Also, the flavor is not overly sweet (aka not Americanized). They even use holy basil instead of regular basil. True to Thai cuisine. Will definitely be going back.
Best Thai food in northeast Ohio. Have to order for take out or take your chances as their dining room is pretty small and fills up fast. Menu has expanded considerably since they took the opportunity to expand the kitchen by taking over the former bar space next door as their dining area.
This place is truly a diamond in the rough hidden gem in Lakewood the people there are so very highly respectful and so nice and the food oh man it was simply phenomenal I loved every bit of it and its truly a authentic Thai restaurant with authentic Thai food I would highly recommend this place to everybody and anybody and I will be going back definitely no doubts about that... they also have vegetarian food and vegan friendly food too so if you are a vegetarian or vegan I would give this place a try you will definitely love it...
Their menu is large and has more traditional items that others nearby where we live. The food we ordered was fresh, the basil was spicy, and the Pad Thai was on point. The staff was also nice. After a few duds in the area, it was such a pleasure to find a good Thai restaurant again. We will definitely return!
I can’t say enough great things about Thai Kitchen. Easily one of my favorite restaurants. I’m addicted to H5 with its tender morsels of pork, chunks of ginger and pineapple swimming in a delicious sauce. The Thai Kitchen Tom Yum soup is delicious and good for your soul.
Unable to truly accommodate for food sensitivities/allergies, although it says on their menu that it can be done upon request. I’ve gotten very sick due to their poor practices with cross contamination and lack of cleaning between orders. Their food is alright, but they fail to accommodate and execute cleanliness for something that they offer to do, right on the top of their menu. You can’t communicate to a paying customer(or anyone) that something is gluten free if it literally is not.
Delicious food and incredible service! Small family owned business and food is freshly prepared and delicious. Went in to pick up a take out order my sister placed except that she never called in the order as she got stuck at work. They helped me decide on what to order for our large group and made it quickly! Everything we had was delicious and prepared as requested (spice level, specific veggies, gluten-free, etc). Our favorite Thai place in the Cleveland area!!!
Came here for dinner. Enjoyed the crispy spring rolls as an appetizer. My sister also got a smoothie with boba which she enjoyed. For my meal I had the coconut curry noodle soup which was absolutely amazing. Our waitress told me it was their top seller and after tasting it I know why. Great food, great prices, great service. Definitely coming back.
Been coming here for years and Ive never had a bad experience. A lovely family owned restaurant that has been a pleasure to watch grow! The Red Curry is the best I can find, any of the appetizers are delicious, and the Thai Kitchen Tom Yum is my go-to on a rainy day or when Im under the weather. Truly one of my favorite places of all time! Great job Kwan and John!
Ive been eating at Thai Kitchen consistently for the last 3 years. Its a small, family-run Thai restaurant on the Lakewood/Cleveland border. Ill admit, the BYOB aspect of this restaurant is what first lured me, but after sampling almost everything on the menu, I can say that Kwan is a fantastic chef that has a unique, down-home style that I truly appreciate.I am very picky about my meats and over time Ive found that the most dependable items on the menu are beef and pork (if youre non-vegetarian). The fresh rolls are always an excellent, clean beginning to a meal, and the shrimp tempura (although, as mentioned in another review, are not prepared from scratch) is always a good time. The beef salad is also a great way to kick off a meal (watch the heat level on this!).Main courses? You cant go wrong with anything. The noodle dishes, soups, and curry dishes are all excellent. If you want to enhance your flavor experience, bump up the spice of any dish with the Thai scale of 1 to 10. 10 is the hottest on the menu, but the current record for heat is something like 93. (Im not kidding!!).Thai Kitchen is an intimate, casual, unique culinary treasure on Clevelands west side. If you are looking for a completely sanitized, trendy, dualistic dining experience, you should avoid the Kitchen at all costs. If you are looking for an authentic Thai meal served in relaxed surroundings by a good family, this is the place for you.
Never disappoints. Flavor is amazing, food is always fresh and prices are great. This place is sure to satisfy. Hands down the best Thai food I have had.The only reason I am giving four stars is because I used to find them available on Uber eats and door dash and now they don’t deliver at all. ☹️ Still my favorite if I want to drive.
Absolute best Thai food in the Cleveland area! The coconut curry noodle soup is the best thing you will ever slurp!!!! Wonderful small, family owned business with great service every time. Sometimes you do have to wait a little while for the food to come, but the food is so good I really could care less!
Best Thai restaurant in Cleveland. The food here is delicious and authentic and the service is out of this world. Their spring rolls are perfectly crispy yet juicy inside and the chicken pad Thai is delicious. Also its a small place so youll get to meet the owner who can regale you with tales of his travels through Thailand as he is suggesting menu items. Parking can be found next door or in front of the place with meters, and its small so get here early to grab your seat.
Absolutely fantastic thai food and the best thai food Ive ever had. Had the large chicken Tom ka soup ($9), chicken jungle curry ($12), and chicken pad kra chai ($13) and all 3 were AMAZING. Definitely the best in Cleveland and maybe in the states. Highly recommend it!
Not really authentic Thai food. I ordered 2 portions of Pad Thai (below average in taste / flavor and above average in price). I also ordered Lad Na (very disappointed with meal..... nothing in the ingredient gave me a sense of Thai food.....Napa, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Green Pepper..... nothing says Thai)The Thai Ice Tea was the only thing worth enjoying and paying for.Danny Tran
Best Thai restaurant in Lakewood. An extensive selection of Thai specialties that cater to any diners preferences. Mild to spicy curries, pad Thai, Tom Yum, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well. No alcohol but they offer delicious iced coffee, smoothies, bubble and iced teas. Dining room is on the small side so get there early on the weekends if you do not want to wait as they fill up quickly.
One of the big bonuses here is that they dont chuck a ton of salt and sugar in the food to convince you its tasty. Very full of flavor from the spices, and it was the hottest level 3 spice Ive ever had (usually eat a 4 out of 5 or so... not here!). While I was excited that the chef is from Thailand and did culinary school there, it wasnt significantly different from other Thai places weve been to, aside from the aforementioned reliance on spices instead of salt and sugar. It is pretty small inside, and gets crowded and loud.
This place has its downsides but the food is not one of them. I have come here twice so far and am in love with the Thai Crispy Spring Rolls with chicken, they are crispy on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. Also, if you are a fan of Tom Yum soup I would challenge you to check out the Tom Yum soup here because it is the best in the Cleveland area. For the main dish I would recommend Pad Thai, its pretty standard fair but it tastes pretty good. There are only two downsides to this place, which is why I am reluctant to eating another whole meal here (I will definitely be coming back for the soup or ordering take out) and those downsides are that this place is a bit small and that they dont take credit cards. I mean it is 2013, who does not accept credit cards nowadays, I dont even carry cash on me.
This place is a small, Family-owned restaurant with Thai food to die for. It seems they have some difficulty controlling the heat in their dishes, which some people dislike. I prefer to eat food on the low end of spicy, and usually always ask for a level 1 dish- this way, I can add spice if it is not enough, but I am always satisfied with the flavor. My favorite dish is Massamun Curry, and this place has the best. Their bubble tea is the best I have ever had- I love the honeydew flavor, and that it isnt over-sweetened like most places. It is a very small restaurant, and limited space to sit. I noticed the wait here is a bit longer than some places, probably because the head chef cooks all the meals to some extent, or at least from what I understand. I honestly dont mind the wait, as the food is always worth it.
The food at Thai Kitchen is awesome. Its gourmet food at an affordable price. Everything she does is a work of art. Even her salads are truly delicious and surprising. As a main course, I especially love the Pad Thai with Shrimp. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and, also, made as you wait. Its not a fast-food restaurant, so you may wait a little after youve ordered, because your meal is being made to order. From personal experience I can say ITS WORTH THE WAIT!!!
As a vegan this is one of the very few Asian restaurants that I can eat at. Firstly they actually understand that vegan means and can tailor most dishes to vegan. The food is really good and spice level can be adjusted from level 1 through 10. I would recommend eating here.
In the two times I have been here for bubble teas I have never felt rushed or unwelcome. I want to try more from here. The bubble smoothies are sweet, but not overly sweet by any means. They are perfect. Hopefully when I come back next time I will try more. I have their menu on my phone and cant wait.
I was visiting from Toronto and decided to give this place a go after reading overwhelmingly good reviews on Reddit and Google. This was by far the most “un-authentic” thai food i have had. Pad Thai was extremely sweet, noodles were sticking to one another and the sauce was not up to par. Spring rolls had good crust but the filling was extremely underseasoned. Pad Bai Gra-praw was OK but once again, lacked the kick in flavour that Thai food usually has in abundance. Tom Yum soup was the only thing decent but didn’t have enough tamarind. Food was expensive and was worth maybe half of what i paid. Disappointing.
Although the space is small, the food is excellent. Kwan is an excellent chef and does a great job on the usual dishes, such as pad thai and tom kha gai soup, but dont stop there. If you have time to eat in and try some of her special dishes, you will not be disappointed. I have eaten at Thai Kitchen for many years and that alone speaks volumes about their consistency, quality and relative value.
The chicken pad thai was fantastic, and prices were great. You know its gonna be good when someones grandma who doesnt speak English is in the kitchen. My only mild complaint is that my papaya salad was NOT mild. I ordered a spice level 4 and my mouth has been a burning inferno for 30 minutes after just one bite. Ill be eating there again, just no papaya salad for me.
Had the pad kee mao and by far the worse one i had in any thai/ asian restaurant from east coast to west coast. (off the top, easily more than 20 diff thai/asian places which I had padkeemao which is my favorite thai noodles) Wife had padgrawpow, taste wise was ok, albeit not very fresh. Lastly the durian dessert, it had less than 5 tiny bits of frozen durian if it is with a faint taste of durian mixed in with sticky rice. Very very disappointing. It is really not an introduction to Durian when its barely has any in it. Its a ripoff even its only $5. There are much much better thai options around.
After being a fan of the place and a regular, I walked out feeling sick and disappointed after my last visit. I specifically asked for a vegan and gluten free dish. My body reacted just as when I have gluten-ALLERGY!!. I asked for spice level 2 and the waiter made a really bad joke about people not understanding that level 3 and up were fire (?? I asked for level 2).On top of that the staff was not helpful at all when we had a credit card malfunction. Hope they pull it together before they keep losing clients. That includes me.
THE BEST THAI IN CLEVELAND AREA!! Kwan and John have become dear friends of ours over the years of dining at their restaurant. Kwan received her culinary schooling in Thailand! Her House Noodle Soups are like no other! The kitchen, dining room, and restroom, are impeccably clean as well!
Theres the Thai food you get at a fancy restaurant, and then theres real, authentic Thai food, and if you like the second kind better, theres no better place to get it than Thai Kitchen, one of my favorite restaurants in the entire greater cleveland area. But youve got to be adventurous. Dont order the Pad Thai if youre looking for a new experience. Try a masaman curry, a pad pet paradise, or a pad see ew instead! The food is delicious, and your body just feels GOOD after consuming it. Everything is made from scratch, even the spring rolls.
Dozens of wonderful meals at Thai Kitchen over the years, with many pleasantly surprised friends discovering the delights of Thai fare.Pad Thai...Excellent.All the Curries...ExcellentTom Ka Kai (coconut soup)...Excellent.Jimmy and his wife bring the food to the table looking like it belongs in a photo shoot. Cash only...so stop at the ATM first.
Very overrated restaurant. Food is SUBPAR (e.g. watery pad Thai), service is slow, staff not welcoming or warm, servers dont know the menu, and theyre not very accommodating with preferences or simple requests. Better off going to Map of Thailand or Sweet Mango.EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE AND SLOW< SLOW< SLOW !!!!!!!!!And You cant be with your friend or Girlfriend or Wife and Kiss or Touch.......... ARE YOU SERIOUS?????????????????THE FOOD IS HONESTLY NOT GOOD!!!!!!LETS BE REAL REAL SERIOUS!!!!I DOUBLE DARE YOU TO TRY MAP OF THAILAND, Then YOU will sEEE!!!

2022-06-18The food was great. The experience was kinda weird. The guy kept talking to us while we tried to eat. The bill was really high for Thai food. But we really liked the food. We want to explore the menu more. Its a big menu too.

2022-07-12My wife and I went to the original Thai Kitchen at this location about 25 years ago. At that time it was owned by an elderly couple and, in spite of the decor, the food was excellent.John and chef Kwan took over about 15 years ago (Im guessing?) and they continued the excellent food tradition and improved on the decor with their expansion. We probably at chef Kwans well over 150 times over the years and were never disappointed. When we were informed about the ownership and menu change we decided to try out the new Thai Kitchen. We were not disappointed. There are several new items on the menu (the excellent dumpling appetizer comes to mind) as well as the standards of thai cuisine. There is NO dropoff in quality. Well be regulars!---EDIT: 7/12/22We returned with a party of 6 about 2 weeks after I wrote this review. The service was excellent and very friendly as it was the fist time, however, after reviewing my $118 bill (which included a total of 2 people dining in and a to go order), Ive decided that approximately $40 per head for Thai food is on the pricey side (for what is mostly chopped vegetables and rather small portions of protein) and we probably wont be going back for quite a while. On this return trip they had a sign in the restaurant recommending the papaya beef salad as an appetizer which I ordered. Unfortunately they did not put the price of the dish on the sign and I did not ask about the price. When the appetizer came it consisted of 8 very small, thin strips of beef, a small bowl of sticky rice and a small bowl of shredded papaya (and maybe some other shredded vegetable?). While it was certainly tasty, we were all SHOCKED when we saw that it was $28 when our bill arrived.Again, this is partially my fault for not asking the price, but $28 was WAY out of line for the size of this recommended appetizer. The food is good, but in this horrible economy we are now on a hunt for a more reasonably priced Thai food alternative in Lakewood. Fortunately we found one less than a mile away....I wont review it until we go at least 3 times : )

2022-06-13First visit after the restaurant got taken over, Chef Mok and Chef Ke cooked authentic Thai food. The staffs gave us warm welcome. The food is uber delicious. I recommend to try black sticky rice with coconut milk as dessert.
