Food cold on delivery.at newark location.big tee was not right small patty not pork tenderloin, baked potato wS COLD, sausage gravy COLD,(no daily specials!!! Anymore??This is 2nd visit,in a month ofSame restaurant different location, same SADD EXPERIENCE...telling me its Corp wide not just locations...WHERES DANA??? server SD she hasnt been here in months hummm, who s in charge??server was friendly, but unaware of menu.
All the food trays were melted threw. Even some melted onto the food. Wasn’t just mine, but my husbands as well. As soon as it was pulled out of the bag, food was spilling out every where. Food was ok but this made a huge mess everywhere and doesn’t seem too safe having it melt and spill extremely hot food every where
Very disappointed in the food quality today 12/26/2021. I ordered on doordash for a pickup. I ordered a barnyard buster for my dad, he said it wasnt bad it was just loaded with grease which he expected. I ordered my daughter a kids meal which was fine but the portions seemed a little small to me. And then i ordered my food... I ordered the grilled chicken breasts with cottage cheese and a garden salad, the chicken breasts were ok, a little bland but no big deal. My problem was the salad and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese looked like someone had poured milk over it and it was so expensive that it actually ran out of my container and all over my daughters so i had to plate her food before giving it to her to avoid a mess. The salad was partly frozen, not a big deal, most of it was edible it was just the bottom layer of lettuce was icy alike the salad top was turned to too low of a temperature. I hope next time i order the food quality is better, i only ordered from here today out of sheer desperation to feed my family because I am not feeling well today. Would also like to add that the food was picked up as soon as it was done and brought straight home so it didnt sit out or anything.
Had another good experience her Jayden I think her name was is incredible!!! So at first we were going to complain about the waitress. Were going to change this up. When we went in we had to wait a long time for drinks or to even order. FOod was awesome but we slowly came to realize they had one single employee working for the whole dining room and the checkout and one manager who only decided she was best served standing around yelling at the girl who was trying to handle everything else. So to you my little waitress you were wonderful. Management you couldnt have been worse. I know you have probably earned the right to do less work. But I kind of figured you earned that right by actually working. You would have been best served to help that girl clear them 9 tables rather than stand there and yell at her cause you made yourself and Tee Jays look horrible. She made you guys look awesome.
Last minute decision to eat out. Neither of us had been there in years. Food was spectacular and exactly as ordered. Cups never went empty. The sausage gravy and biscuits were perfect. Will definitely be back.Another great meal. Met with friends for brunch and everything came out perfect. Even my wifes different order due to dietary issues were 100% on point. Kudos!
Food was horrible had hair in my fries yes they did comp my meal but only received half my food there was 5 of us for dinner and I will never return my kids were even upset cause they love tjs guess we will stick with Zanesville. Pics is what they call a cheeseburger 🤨
Not good. Server was nice, but the food was very salty, not much flavor. Ordered a chocolate shake that was served completely melted. When asked why, the server said our ice cream melts when it is hot out. I asked her for a new one. She brought the new over and it was slightly better, but way too much syrup. Had a fly buzzing around the table the whole time and trash on the floor. I would understand if they were busy, but only 2 other tables had guests as it was 1545 on Saturday. Overall, average place, friendly staff unimpressive Country food.
The atmosphere was nice. The waitress was kind. My omelet was watery and not real great. They gave me home fries instead of hash browns like Id requested. My strawberry banana french toast was pretty good. Really sweet, but good. My sons enjoyed their kids meals and chocolate milk.
Floor was dirty and was only cleaned up half way during my meal, the food was good nothing to brag about but they love to nickle and dime the customer bill when things should come with a meal I asked and the extra charges manager stated we only serve good food and walked away
I ordered the Roast turkey dinner. It is not roasted turkey, (the Manager admitted this!). It is Deli Turkey ( he said). It is the worst deli turkey I have ever experienced. A Gelatin type of something..not meat. The manager came by our table. He ask how is your meal? We talked about the Roast turkey dinner..he said he didnt know why it was called that!He ask if I wanted to try something else? I honestly was so nauseated at this point, I couldnt eat. I left the food on the table. Our waitress never came back after bringing our food. The Manager checked us out..he had our bill, waitress never brought it to our table. We were charged FULL PRICE, NO APOLOGIES, AND TOLD TO COME BACK SOON. This poor restaurant. Needs cleaned, needs new curtains, needs so much. We will not be back.
Server was friendly seemed like she needed some help but kept up accordingly. Understand times are rough. Did a good job keeping drinks filled. Wish food would be cooked for a little bit longer. Family never leaves unsatisfied. I appreciate all the hard work from your staff during this difficult time.
I went in to this location this last Monday ( August 31) with my two children. I have been to this location before and the overall experience is usually not horrible. This time however it was pretty bad. It took forever to get our food and when it did come half of it was wrong and lukewarm. After dealing with the server the female manager finally came out and acted I like was looking for a free meal, which I wasnt. She said she wasnt taking anything off, which is not what I was looking for at all. Overall the staff and management acted like they didnt care at all if I was there. It took us ten minutes to get a drink refill. I think we will go to Ihop next time around
Instead of the barnyard buster I had the hen house, you get much more for your money. The made as I requested, awesome food. Service was excellent, they stay on top of things! Very friendly and courteous staff. Second time Ive eaten there and I will definitely be back.
Really pleased with our visit. The folks that work here are incredibly friendly and the service was excellent. Its not always easy to find breakfast done right, but this Tee Jayes location ticked all the boxes. Theres a wide selection of breakfast dishes and lunch/dinner meals. Truly something for everyone in the family. Highly recommend the Belgian waffles and corncakes, both were delicious. Theres plenty of parking and a large dining room, so you should never have much of a wait.
Employees are nice and the food is good. I feel like they should maybe try something different with the menu? It has been the same since I was 5, and Im 18 now. New could be good? Anyways, if you want a simple homestyle breakfast come here. Their pancakes are amazing, any of them.
Was looking for a good next to home cooked meal and being in a semi its kinda hard to do. So we parked in the back lot and walked and the service along with our food was just outstanding all the way around being a store manager of a restaurant u expect certain things or hold restaurants to a higher standard and when I say the manager come out help clean tables and coach his newer staff in a positive manner along with my food being right the first time around and I am picky. All I can say is u made a lasting first visit impression and Im not impressed often. Deffinately will stop back for another visit. Please tell your staff what a wonderful job they did they even brought me a sample of the beef and noodles cause I wanted to know if it was chunks or shredded beef in it. Absolutely wonderful.
The Salisbury steak meal was delicious I had it with green beans and mac and cheese with a tiny roll on the side. We had a waitress whose name was Kristina she wasnt very nice to one of my guests. His coleslaw smelled like it had went bad so he asked if he could have cottage cheese instead. He didnt eat the coleslaw at all, didnt even touch it. She told him thats just the way the coleslaw is supposed to be, Im going to have to charge you again. I enjoyed my experience, he didnt enjoy his, which I had to hear about it after we left. My food was great but I wish we had got a different waitress. And I wish my friend would have ordered cottage cheese the first time. The management was nice also, he greeted us before the incident. Overall my experience wasnt that bad. I actually enjoyed what I had.
I gotta be honest with you, this place was a let-down. I was with a group of 8. However the restaurant was not busy at all and it took a long time for our food. My meal, chopped steak and onions, was ok. Three of the other orders were messed up. On one, the chicken was under-cooked and they did take the cost off the bill. My sons said their burgers were good.
My husband and I read the reviews of this restaurant but decided to go there anyway. Bad move. Service was OK. The waitress was not well trained, the manager was kind of upset that he was sent to the table. He did comp one item from our bill. The place is filthy, and not very friendly. The food is over priced and not appetizing at all. We left hungry. If you want to hear about the waitresses life story, by all means, visit this place. Food - D- , Wait staff - C- , overall experience - F++
My family and I have eaten here 4 or 5 times a week since I worked there 15 years ago or so. My daughter loves the cheese pizza and they seem to be the only place in town that has it on the kids menu. We went in on Thursday and everything was fine. We went in on Saturday and was kicked out for having a health condition preventing me from wearing a mask. This has not been an issue at all since this all started, but all of a sudden it was. Needless to say, my family will need to pick a new restaurant to be regulars at as we will not eat at a place that blatantly discriminates against people with disabilities. I am sorry to say we will not be back.I have contacted the Ohio Civil Rights Committee. They assigned an agent and asked me to come in and sign the discrimination complaint in front of the notary.
My family and I came here for dinner about 7pm. We were seated fast and greeted with a smile! The manager has incredible people skills! My son who is extremely shy responded to everyone there and they interacted with him! One thing that really stood out was we apologized for the mess my son had made the the waitress said “it’s perfectly okay, this is time for you guys to get out and relax, we can pick up after your little guy!”. They went above and beyond expectations. Thank you for making my families night. We will be back regularly
Just what I needed after this stay at home this was the closest its been to normal in a long time. Staff wore masks and plastic guards between seats but you could still go inside and sit down and enjoy a meal. The food was great and super friendly waitresses. Its still not all the way back to normal life but if looking for the closest thing to it Id highly suggest stopping here.
Wow great customer service and a wonder place to eat.So I was approached asked if I was Bo and yep thats me she says thank you so much for checking in and said my meal was on them. This must be something they are doing here and there.Let me tell you that means the world to me and thank you I definitely will be back to eat on my lunch break again.Fantastic job Tee Jays keep up the great job
It was like being at a smaller version of Bob Evans but a lot more Western. its still one of my favorite places to eat at. The surface is great, the foods excellent, the bathrooms are clean, any atmosphere has a Home feel to it. But of course I usually like to go there in the morning exclusively for their steak and eggs. One of the best Ive ever had in an inexpensive restaurant.
I asked for extra cheese on my omelet. Not only did I not get extra cheese, I didnt get any cheese. I told the waitress...she said I told them extra cheese. Then she handed me the bill...with the charge for extra cheese. I told the manager on the way out. The manager took off for the extra cheese. I said what about the fact that I didnt get any cheese? Bottom line, barnyard buster is good. Everything else sucks. Including the manager
All of the staff especially managers are always friendly and treat us with respect. We have never had an issue at this facility. Mark has always been friendly and was recently given a bad review from a customer which I dont feel he deserved. My wife and myself frequent Tee Jays and as stated have never had an issue with this restaurant. We like every thing in the menu.
My wife and I decided to order for pick-up last night. After ordering we figured out that theyve raised their prices. Thats not a huge deal, but after receiving our food, we found out the quality has gone down substantially too. In both Barnyards the potatoes were way under-cooked (practically raw), and the biscuits were so hard and dry they were practically inedible. By daughters ordered spaghetti, and the sauce was so runny and watered down, that a quarter of it ran out of the box and into the bag during transport. My one daughter is a non-picky, pasta lover... if you cant satisfy her, you have no business making it. Oh, and they forgot our side salads that come with the spaghetti. Wont be back.UPDATE: My wife returned today to get the salads that they forgot (our kids LOVE salads), and they didnt give us any problems or grief. One of the servers, Courtney was very nice and apologized. Still probably wont be back though.
This was an unexpectedly great place. I have drove by many times but never stopped to try it. I have not really heard anything about it either. We decided to go here to try something new and loved it. The facilities were warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing with great taste and good portions. We can not wait to go back here.
Let me start out and say my goodness, hats off to the chefs and a big thanks to the awesome servers. They are always right in it and they do such a good job at why they do, the lady’s that served me always had a smile and were right on time with it all and kept my drink full!!! Now the food I do say couldn’t get any better, not to mention there specials. I get the classic barnyard buster and it is literally piled high with so much deliciousness. Also the corn beef hash when you mix everything on the plate together is amazing. Prices aren’t even bad bot to mention!! I will go here every once a week atleast. The place is always clean too!!! Keep up the good work tee jayes!!!!!
Easy cheap food. My last visit the waitress messed up everyones order. She forgot my side of bacon, eggs where ordered over medium and came out super runny. Brought biscuits instead of wheat toast. So the orders where really messed up. Other then that Im the food was good.
Waitstaff were great. They were very friendly and helpful. Wierd policies such as no substitutions of onion rings for fries, even for an upcharge. They pass off hamburger buns as rolls. Food was ok. I mean, I didnt expect gourmet, but my wife did appear to get a food borne illness as shortly after dinner, she was vomiting up what she had eaten. Really, the waitstaff are the saving grace at this restaurant. (Quick, call Chef Ramsay!)
My wife and I were traveling and a friend recommended we try Tee Jayes Cointry Place. Tfirst note: the facility was well prepared for Covid-19 security. Masked worn by all staff and social distance was monitored and respected. The menu was large and varied. We arrived just before noon and were given a lunch menu. I prefer breakfast, so I asked about breakfast, since they advertise all day breakfast. I was assured it was no problem, cheerfully given a breakfast menu, and promptly served. Very good eggs benedict meal, reasonably priced. Recommend Tee Jayes to anyone in the area.
I always go there on Thursday because their special is Scalloped Potatoes and Ham, and my husband loves it! I wont try it because of the way it looks, so I get liver and onions for myself with mashed potatoes. The Scalloped Potatoes and Ham must taste awesome because they are ALWAYS sold out of it by 3:00!!! So be advised if you want to try them, order them before 3:00 or you risk not getting them! Hope this helps you get that meal!
Spent too long waiting for our food and we didnt get the appetizer we ordered as our waitress forgot and didnt apologize for it either. Husbands meal was way overpriced for the amount of meat he actually received on his sandwich. When the manager approached us to ask how we were, the waitress flew over and began to badger my husband about him not telling her there was a problem with his food with a snotty attitude.
Service was terrible. Went there after work with a coworker and service just took forever. Were given old coffee to drink (later another waitress came by, informed us it was old, and replaced it with a freshly made one), and took half an hour before we were asked what we wanted to eat. It wasnt even that busy on the floor. After leaving we hung around outside for a moment to catch up and heard two of the waitresses (presumably on break) complaining about the workplace. All in all, its probably one of the few experiences that has actually made me stop going to a restaurant.
Newark, Ohio location food was horrible. Ate there 1/2/21. Mashed potatoes were cold with hot gravy, burnt meatloaf. Hamburg tasted spoiled..did not eat it. Biscuits tasted a day old. Iced Tea tasted like yesterdays tea and we Paid 21.81 for an absentee waitress, a cashier who did not care when I complained.DO NOT EAT HERE but French fries and green beans were good if you must.
A nice looking place. Sad that my fried chicken was not the best like I hoped, old grease and dark brown fried chicken?? Canned veggies, confused service & LOUD cooks yelling at the waitresses. No male servers. If management gets itself together, think of customer service, not problems, maybe I would go back.
The food was decent. The service was pretty good actually. My problem is every time I go in there, they find a way to disappoint me. This time we went in looking for the daily special and, for lack of a much longer explanation, were told they were out of it. Theyre supposed to be open 24 hours but there have been several times Ive tried to stop for breakfast before work and the place is closed. I want to give it a better rating but theyve never put in enough effort to earn more.
DO NOT EAT HERE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Changing my review based on current service. Came into this establishment at 10pm last night. Server didnt ask us what menu we wanted so I had to wait to get a server to give me the menu I wanted. The waitress then asks us for what we wanted to drink and leaves. Then another waitress comes up than the previous to ask for our drinks then gets them to us. During ordering the new waitress referred to is as “dawg” and had no idea what was on The Hen House Special and asked me what it came with when I asked about the choice of bread item (because you can choose how you want eggs done/ potatoes/ all meat as one or the other). So we wait for 30 minutes and had to get another waiter to find out whats going on with our food, this waiter I may add is wearing street clothes and not a uniform so we were lucky that it was correct he worked there. Our food had been sitting on the counter for 15 minutes and nobody bothered to bring it to us. We go to eat and everything we ordered was cold, I asked the waiter out of uniform the get the manager for us. I advised him as politely as possible that our food was cold and if he could microwave it at least as I felt rude for even asking that much. Manager offers to remake it entirely and apologized for the it. I advised the manager of everyrhing that went on because I didnt want it to happen to others that would have snapped and made it a huge arguement. Manager tells me he will take care of it all. So we get the bill and he takes our drinks off to say sorry and I thank him for being so kind, then we get to talking about the pen he hands me and says its his lawyers pen and that I can keep it (as I complimented how nice the ink and pen quality was). You must be wondering why Im writing this review when all was handled? Well I caught wind of how the manager has COMPLAINED about us asking for the food to be reheated. Since Im such a issue when simply polietly asking for HOT FOOD TO BE SERVED IN A DINER instead of having to wait 30 MINUTES to be served COLD FOOD Im leaving this review. I will never return to this establishment that I have come toover the past few years. I encourage everyone else to stay away since you have such a issue with me being polite and respectful over such a bad situation. I could have been as rude as you have been behind my back sir but instead now everyone will know.
My chicken quesadilla were burnt. Boyfriends samon patties were horrible. Dinned at 1am. Only few customers. Cook was outside when we arrived. You can tell he just doesnt care. Waitress was really nice and apologized and said she would ask manager to make new one and it would only take half the time. We ate only half our meal bc we were hungry or we would have just left
This place was so cold neither my husband nor I could wait to get out. The waitress was very helpful in trying to get us a warmer table...to no avail. She even brought me a mug of hot water to try and get the blood pumping to my fingers. The manager turned the temp up on the air. This seems to be the norm for most businesses. I forgot my jacket that day. However my husband is not subject to being cold and he was very uncomfortable too. I just dont understand the need for such low temperatures.
One of my all time fav places for breakfast. I always get the barnyard buster and its always a good helping of food. Its all made fresh and is such a great value for what you get. This location has been here forever. Ots never been updated so it still has that older style vibe. Its almost always busy here but the ladys that wait the tables are nice and the cooks are fast.
Always a dining pleasure at Tee Jays! Fast and friendly service, always seeing to our dining needs promptly, and so affordable! When going for breakfast, a quick lunch, or dinner to give Mom a break from the kitchen, Tee Jays is the place to go! My son has celebrated every birthday at Tee Jays for the last 17 years, with a Granny burger and jello with whipped cream. Thanks for a great dinner, Tee Jays!
Worst experience ever at teejays!!!! Our server was the only good thing about this. Food was so under cooked it was not eatible. Sent back twice to re cook and still the same. When the manager whos name is Julie asked how everything was, we said awful, her response was well, sorry that will be $17.30. Gone to teejay many times and beside our server this was the worst experience in any restaurant ever. Will not be going back.
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place is overpriced and down right disgusting. Food is microwaved with out a doubt. Chicken was tough and chewy and came out of the skin when I cut it. Biscuits were dry and crumbly and the eggs were under cooked. Really bad. Just go to Cracker Barrel!
While i liked my ribs, my French fries and macaroni and cheese tasted funny, and gave me a stomach ache. The barnyard busters my mom and grandma ordered had bloody eggs, and had to be replaced twice before the jackass manager came to the table, and interrupted my conversation with my mom while making us fight like hell to get a word in edgewise. The only reason we paid the bill was the waitress we had, who was very sweet and considerate. But that isnt enough to convince us to return. If you read this Jennifer Jeffries, if you dont mind the suggestion, try for a job at Bob Evans. If that manager reads this, work on youre customer service. To everyone else, avoid Tee Jayes at all costs.
Lettuce in salad was brown, steaks are so thin medium rare apparently cannot be done, chicken and biscuits are nothing more than chicken broth made into gravy...there wasnt one piece of chicken in it. Dont ask for steak sauce, if you dont get up and get it yourself, the food gets cold before they bring it to you. When we were asked if we wanted another beverage we said no, but they brought them anyway. Just a terrible experience and waste of money.
Sorry, very very poor service. 2 dishes were cold, pasta dish was inedible, wait time for the food was ridiculous for lack of customers, and we were not offered our free cake for mothers day or kids meal treats. Our waitress was inattentive and offered no explanations for the poor aervice. This will be our last trip.
I came upon visiting this location on the morning of Feb 16th because my mom was placed in the hospital in Newark and she was wanting some good breakfast. I decided to place a carry-out order inside and possibly have a coffee while I wait. The young hostess told me to go up to the podium and place my carry-out. I stood up there with the menu opened( Which I got the menu myself) for about 15 mins which felt like forever. I was patiently waiting for one of the two older woman behind the podium to greet me in some way. One lady seemed to be quite new. I was expecting someone to make eye contact or a smile at me, but no one did. After another 5 mins went by I gestured to the frazzled lady closest to me, Maam is this where I place a carry-out?Yes, she commented, but we only have one computer to put orders in and she is having a problem with an uber order right now.Ok. I said. I watched as the line of customers grew longer and the manager came out to help assist with the Uber Order.Another 5 mins went by as I stood there menu open starring.... Still no eye contact... No smiles... No one commenting Just one second. Nothing.I thought about just leaving and going somewhere else. I decided to try the bar area and I sat down. A few minutes later I was greeted by a server named Amanda. Her smile was so welcoming and warming I forgot about all the troubles I had coming in. She got me a coffee and a water. She took my TO GO orders. Bagged it up and poured me a coffee to go. If I have to visit this location again I will just go to the breakfast bar area instead of dealing with the chaos and unkindness in the front. Thanks Amanda for your great service and polite attitude. Although, I could tell you were busy I still felt important. It absolutely made my day a bit brighter.
This place is loved for one reason; Granburgers. Come on down and enjoy a Double Bacon [burnt] and American Cheese cheeseburger and feel like youre down home again.5/7. Would eat again. Two granburgers, both of them well done. Toppings; double bacon (burnt), American cheese. Add one over hard egg to one burger, one over medium to the other. French fries is fine for the side.
Granddaughter ordered mashed potatoes, among other things. They were like a sponge. Dried out, and when she pressed down on them with her fork, they bounced back. Service was pretty bad. Our waitress acted high, and others were working hard to take care of us, but we werent their responsibility. The place was very clean, though.
I have never had such a bad experience at tee jays my drink tasted like it was flat then I ordered a different one the waitress forgot about it 20 mins later I finally got it. Iemonade was so watered down it was like bitter water the food was horrible too and the service was the worst she forgot about us several times
The waitresses were nice but on my nerves Im trying to enjoy my breakfast with my husband and Everytime Im in the middle of a conversation they kept coming up to see if we were ok 3times in a 60second period was fine I was trying to have a conversation and we are fine after the fifth time it was aggravating sausage and french toast a lil undercooked but other than that it was ok
I ordered a Super Sam platter it was extremely greasy it made my stomach turn the manager was so nice he took it off her bill he also gave me a ham and swiss platter to replace the Super Sam I would recommend going back just dont get the super they definitely changed that sandwich and I disapprove

2021-09-01Very calming and relaxing atmosphere. My waitress was so nice and very attentive. I had the Children Fried Steak and it was the best that I have had in a long time. The portions were huge and very reasonable priced! Had more than enough for leftovers for later.

2021-10-28The service was good. The gravy needed more flavor but not bad. I will not give bad reviews. This is just my opinion only. I felt the creamer they gave me had an aftertaste to it of some kind for my coffee.

2022-03-09The 21st street Tee Jayes is the best one in existence. Hands down. Always been the best. I have been coming here since I was a kid. My grandparents would bring me here for breakfast. I love the food, granted I have only ever ordered one thing on their menu, and the staff are pleasant!

2022-06-04We went into TeeJayes today and we each had the shrimp dinner and onion rings appetizer, and as always, they didnt disappoint. Amanda was our waitress and she was amazing. She spoiled us, checking on us regularly. The food, as always was good, and Amandas service was second to none.

2022-03-30The food and service is always wonderful! The only thing I could pick on would be the entrance/checkout and waiting to be seated theres nowhere to stand with the restrooms there as well all in the same small space. We have gotten passed on a few times because we didnt want to crowd the area and others dont mind crowding the area and waiting directly in front of the restroom. Perhaps they could do a little renovation.

2022-06-14Always pretty busy here, but they do a good job of keeping things moving. Wait staff is super friendly, and the food is good, old fashioned greasy diner food. Good food, good people, good times.

2022-03-28I ordered takeout.when it arrived the carton was upside down and food allover. The worst part was it wasnt the food I ordered. I called TJaye and they said they would re cook it but they could not re deliver it. And I still got charged for it. Lost my business!!
