Talitas Burritos and Coneys in other cities:
Always love Talitas. Never had been to this location. Great Tex Mex period! Family run for years. Fresh, fast and hot. Love the green sauce. Ive never had their coneys, but over half of the customers were eating them. The owner and staff are extremely friendly. Will be back. Thanks.
I love this place - seriously a hidden gem! Their tacos, burritos and coneys are all fabulous - and of course the chips with guac and queso too. I still have a number of menu items to try and I look forward to my visits, everyone is always so friendly and welcoming - I even got a fresh chocolate chip cookie with my taco platter today which was a nice touch!
Know what youre getting into ahead of time; this is not a typical restaurant. It is a mom & pop, gas station quality fast food joint. If you have low expectations going in; youll be pleasantly surprised. It is by no means quality food; it is food that would make even the drunkest college student think twice before going in. But there is something good about the food. I cant put my finger on it-- something about the food is good. Their ranch is homemade and goes good on pretty much everything.
Great food, really friendly staff. Well worth going to is youve ever liked Talitas at all. I was really happy that this place opened up where it did. It seems some version of Talitas has been around forever someplace, and Ive always been a fan. If you have at all, give them a visit.
Awesome...awesome....and more....I went to talitas 35 years ago with my family all the time before I moved to another state. This was the first time I have been able to go and the food is the best and just how I remembered many years ago. Such a nice family. My high recommendation..go to talitas. Thank you for continuing the great talitas tradition.....so good, I ordered a 2nd burrito.....and btw, one is a meal....
The burritos are good. The coneys are great. It is a little place in a business park that is convenient to get in and out of and has a great selection of lunch type items.Very clean dining area. the owner is there to say hello and have a chat. It is on my regular lunch rotation.
Its been years since I have been to Talitas,(I live in Canada) But I will always remember and cherish the great food and friendly atmosphere. Frankie was always kind and made Myself and every other customer feel like family. I cant wait to come back to Columbus and catch up with my extended family!
Weve been going to Talitas since they started their family business in Clintonville from one location to another on High St. They relocated to Grove City we went there too. The Prince family have always been there for our family theyre caring, giving, and loving. We frequent their new location now I CRAVE the red sauce! Thank you Frankie for continuing the totally awesome food, friendly service, you all are the best of the best. God bless you and yours!!
The food is good, the people are friendly and it has a sort of grandpas kitchen feel to it. I got the Grove City one, and they are always friendly, and I really enjoy how they have the walls covered with memorabilia and military items, although I hate the Steelers. the food comes quick and they always say God bless and have a great day, which goes a long way in my book. Overall great [place, people, and food.
Good Coney dog. Even though I found a hair in it today, still a good dog... Aside from that, everything else is on a culinary level that Ive only experienced as a patron of the cafeteria at a Catholic school. Tried it a year ago, awful burrito. Gave them another chance, they were unable to redeem themselves.
Frankly Im amazed that they are still in business. The food seems to be either canned or preprocessed with very little authentic Mexican flavor and the visual is quite disgusting. I had plenty of leftovers, this place looks like a perfect candidate for one of those restaurant makeovers. The only thing good about this place was that the waitress was really sweet.
Youre not wrong of you feel like youre going into the wrong place your first time at Talitas. though, to be fair they could do so much better in a more campus-y neighborhood for what they do. you can get a standard bean and rice burrito, fairly cheap, and they gladly made it vegan for me with no problems. theyre just in a weird part of town to reach their true potential if you ask me. but what do I know?
The food was disgusting. I love Mexican food and thats not what this is. The spices in the meat were very nasty. They had a very little variety of food for kids and they charge you extra for sour cream. Honestly...who does that. The air conditioning must have been broken because it was extremely hot in there.I would not recommend eating at this place. Service ok, but the food is not worth the high price tag.
Always good food. If you are after a cookie cutter type of restaurant this isnt your place to eat. If you are after food like every other restaurant then go eat at every other. This place makes your food with care and the owner is genuinely interested in you enjoying your meal. He will even sit n talk with you!
Frankie, Tahitas son runs a super clean cafe/restaurant. The food is delicious! Favorite foods layered Enchiladas or Coneys, both are great but not at same time. The only way to finish the servings is to come there with a big appetite otherwise youll have a second leftover meal that serves up as good as the first. So glad I finally made it there and share this post with others.
7.99 is the price of a taco salad. A rather bland taco salad. I spoke with a co-worker who is pretty knowledgeable about Mexican food and he admitted that Mexicans usually do not season their ground beef. Well, neither does Talitas. I didnt think to ask for sour cream because I thought that was a usual item for a taco salad. Nope. The salsa dressing I got was okay. (You have a choice of salsa, ranch, or italian.) But there was nothing flavorful about this salad. Lettuce, plain ground beef, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese in a flour tortilla shell. Thats it. I guess Ive had other taco salads that were nicely seasoned and thought that was normal. All I know is that I was disappointed by the lack of flavor. Wont be returning. The waitress was friendly and decor is funky, but I agree with another reviewer: Im surprised this place is still in business, especially with an El Vaqueros down the street.
Ok so this place isnt a 5 star... But it brings back campus area memories and some of the early dates with my now wife... Food has always been good but that could just be the nostalgia of it... New format is quick service, but the location is odd... Get here before it folds again, its something else.
Im a newbie by Talitas standards because Frankie has been serving up fantastic tex mex longer than I have been breathing. Every time I visit there are guests talking about their experiences in the 70s. Thats five decades of loyalty from many guests! My only disappointment from Talitas is that the chili didnt put me into labor like it did twice for my mom.
I have to put my own personal experience because I CANNOT absolutely CANNOT understand how anyone can like anything about this place I went to the one in grove city with my husband and my children and first look i thought it was too dark and just an awkward setting in general I sat down and looked around and was absolutely horrified to see that there was open salsa sitting on the tables one I have no idea how that isnt a health code violation it looked like it had sat there for days and then to move on to my next point I asked about a kids menu they said they didnt have one so for people saying its family friendly definitely not! Then we had to pay for chips and salsa no Mexican restaurant Ive ever been to have I ever paid for chips and salsa and then we get our food and it looked like a hamburger helper taco meal I took one bite and felt sick I coming from Hispanic heritage was absolutely petrified at the thought that that was considered Authentic I couldnt even eat the food it was that bad and that has never happened to me before
The newest one on High St is the worst Mexican place I have ever been to. They used baged Kraft shredded cheese and melt the said cheese in the microwave. In fact, everything is pre-made and is warmed up in the microwave, even tacos. I went there once and had a bad experience. I decided to give them one more shot last week. I ate the food and it tasted funny, but didnt think anything of it. I already decided I wasnt going to go back. But the next day, I became really Ill and had to go to the emergency room. Thanks Talitas...
Talitas has been a classic Columbus restaurant since the 70s. Its moved a few spots over the years, originally located on North High St, most recently in Grove City. Despite the new location, this restaurant maintains the flavors and quality that has made Talitas special for all of these years. Food is affordable and delicious, and the new spot is much nicer than their old Grove City location. If youre looking for some tex-mex with Columbus flair, this is the place to go
Some of the best food for the money to can get, we started eating at Talita’s about 30 years ago, they were in a different location at that time. We live about 60 min away so we will stop in and eat anytime we are in the area. Looking forward to the new Hollywood Casino to open then we can stop at Talita’s on the way to the Casino.

2022-05-20Accidentally stumbled upon this really tiny Columbus gem while in the area for a suit turned into a really pleasant surprise. Wanted a quick bite for lunch, walked in and felt like I stepped back in time! I took a seat to review the menu and could tell there was so much history on the walls! The business has been serving since 1968, which was really impressive to stay open that long especially for a small restaurant such as this.Up front, we were greeted by a really pleasant older gentleman who I believe has worked there for over 30 years. We ordered the coneys, and they tasted just like Id imagine homemade coneys would - simply tasty! We couldnt get over how nice and positive the gentleman was, and my fiance wants me to mention in this review that she wants to put the cute older guy in her pocket and carry him around. The guy even snuck us some oatmeal cookies. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little mom and pop gem. Would definitely be pack next time Im in the area!

2022-08-12Beef & bean burrito was delicious. The sauce is just right, not too spicy nor too mild...just perfect. A nice shaded outdoor sitting area was clean and comfortable. Frank the owner and his sister DianaMarie run a really great restaurant.

2021-10-10First, be sure if you google the location, it is actually in the front of the plaza on the left.Food is incredible. I wish I had gotten more pictures to share, but I was busy putting it in my face. Quick service with a smile and lots of good humor. Quaint little place with dine in available and a delightful atmosphere to eat in. Give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

2022-06-07This place is so good! I got the beef burrito chili style, cheese dip. My husband got a chicken and rice burrito bowl and everything was PERFECT! They have the best chili in town. The owner is a sweetheart too.

2022-04-20Ordered from here because of the great reviews. Now Im wondering if those people were paid to leave good reviews because the food I ordered was just bleh! Burrito was bland, no flavor whatsoever!! Lettuce was wilted. Tortilla was soggy, and burrito was never ever on the grill, just the microwave. First and last time I eat from this place.I would leave a review for the place itself but I only picked up my food. But from what I was able to see, it is not a clean place and definitely a mediocre set up for a restaurant.

2022-09-09Have driven past this place for years... unimpressed. Co-workers talked me in to trying it. Verdict? I should have been visiting long ago! It is a mom and pop-type place, so nothing fancy. BUT, outstanding customer service, good price points and delicious food! Will most assuredly be stopping for lunch again soon.

2022-04-16I dont know where to start with this place. Every surface is sticky, it smells like a public restroom, the windows are foggy and dripping. The cashier was wearing dirty pajamas and the owner got right up in my face to explain his menu. Really freaky guy. My burrito was $7.99 and it was the worst burrito Ive ever seen. Wilted, microwaved lettuce and melted American cheese slices. The tortilla was maybe 1/3 full, soggy, and flat. I asked nicely for a refund and was rudely refused, and told Sorry about your negative day. Ive never reviewed another business in my life, but this place is an exception. Absolutely terrible.

2022-05-07If i could give this place a zero star I would. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable, the cook was very dirty and did NOT wash his hands or wear gloves while preparing our food. He also spent more time staring at us (very uncomfortably) instead of paying attention to making our food which made the wait way longer than it needed to be! Needless to say, the food went straight into the garbage. Very disturbing experience and definitely will not be back.

2018-12-14This a great little spot...you can actually get lunch for under $10.00. We love their basic beef and chicken burritos. Their sauces are pretty good too.
