I loved this place for years. We had an order of over $100 for my office they provided the wrong food. the young man at the phone refused the mistake and we were a meal short. We also had 9 different orders for our office and they gave us 3 large rices to split and said they dont provide individual rice so i guess i was suppose to serve people with a spoon throughout my office building. Probably not the best idea during a pandemic
Lobby was full when I came in. I patiently waited to be attended toAnother male customer came in and the male employee looked at me and then to the male that came in after me, he took care of him firstI had to yell.out my order name to be taken care of. Rude employees
I got a to go order of the Happy Family and Spring Rolls Delicious. I would of gotten the Wonton Soup but the lady told me it came with only two wontons. Im not going to waste $2.00 dollars on two dumplings that is crazy. But back to the food clean, fresh and delicious. Will return in the near future.
Yummy and speedy. The restaurant is only serving takeout and delivery right now due to covid-19. Our food was just as expected, except the spring roll description on the takeout menu made it seem like multiple egg rolls when it is really just one. I saw a sign that said the restaurant has been open since the 60s and i think that’s awesome. We will most likely return here!
This is my new favorite Asian place!!!! The egg drop soups is SO GOOD!! Ive been dreaming about it since I had it! My husband and I loved everything we got. And the waitress was so nice! She chatted with us a lot and you could tell everyone that worked there liked working there and liked each other. It was such a positive environment. It was a really nice quaint place to relax and enjoy a great meal. It will be a place we visit regularly now that we moved to the area!
Just went back for the first time since their reopening and honestly seems like it has gotten better and it was good to begin with. I used to eat here regularly when I was a vegetarian because their Zen menu is phenomenal if you are a vegetarian. Even as a omnivore this place is great, probably the best Chinese takeout in Lakewood.
Ordered take out, We paid for 2 orders of spring rolls but only got 1. Our wontons came with nothing in them, just fried wonton dough. We also ordered garlic broccoli and the sauce is more like a chili sauce than garlic. Curry chicken & Sweet and sour soup is good, but overall not impressed.
My girlfriend and I were craving Asian cuisine during COVID-19 lock down. We decided to order from here with Uber eats and support a local business. We ordered Lo mein with extra sauce, and it was very disappointing and did not have extra sauce. It is probably the blandest lo mein I have ever had the disappointment of eating and the noodle as very soggy. We also ordered the general tsos chicken, I would compare it to unflavored soggy breading with chicken, truly unappetizing. The seafood triple delight was more like triple vegetable delight with a few pieces of scallops and 3 shrimp. The duck was the only decent item we ordered. We were looking forward to a nice night in and supporting your business.
Amazing flavor and personalized to my taste every time no matter what dish I choose. And the Zen (vegan) dishes are tasty and delicous with a selection thats beyond any other restaurant I am aware off. Not to mention every vegetable seems like its picked off the vine right before its prepared and added to my meal.
Our family loves too visit Szechwan Garden. The food is always very fresh and very delicious. I like that they ask how spicy you would like your meal prepared. We have a vegetarian in our family and she loves the zen menu. The prices are very fair and the portions are more than enough for one. The interior is clean and offers enough space and room between tables. I do wish they stayed open all day, or opened for dinner a little bit earlier than 430. Overall Szechwan Garden is one of Lakewoods best chinese food spots.
They USED to have the best zen cuisine I ever had...something has drastically changed. I am sure the normal menu is still as good as ever (5-*s) but the Zen options are an absolute PASS! The sietan used in the mock-meats has a distinct woodsy flavor, like pine or cedar.
This is the best Chinese place Ive ever been to Ive work there their food is absolutely fresh made and authentic I used to make the potstickers and egg rolls and I chop celery i chop slow hahaha chop slow the owners are a family friend and the nicest most welcoming people that ever met and ever worked for it is an honor to know Alan the owners son and I got to experience their culture up close and personal best place and people ever!

2022-02-16Have been ordering food from here for a couple years and it has never disappointed myself or my fiance. The veggie fried noodles are the best Ive ever had and the people who work there are always so friendly and kind. Love this place!

2022-07-09Unfortunately the food was beyond underwhelming. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor or seasoning, and the price was totally ridiculous compared to other local Chinese food places. I truly thought the worst part of my day was learning the Shawn Mendes concert was cancelled, but this food really sent me over the edge on a bad day.

2022-07-09Our usual place was closed for a summer holiday, so we decided to give this place a go. When my friends brought back the food, that’s when we discovered we had gotten the worst Chinese food in all of Cleveland. I’ve never had rice so under seasoned- in fact- plain white rice has more taste. Truly underwhelming for such a highly rated place.

2018-09-25I went here for dinner on a Sunday night along with my brother. The restaurant was empty so, we got ourselves a table right away. I ordered Fried Tofu and Veggies and Garlic Sauce. I liked the tofu but the other one wasnt great. My brother got an Egg Flower Soup and Im not sure of the other dish that he ordered. They have a variety of options for vegetarians and their pricing is fine. The service that the waiter was offering us wasnt good. I hope it improves in the future. Driving for about 30 minutes based on a friends recommendation wasnt worth it.

2019-09-06We love to stop at Szechwan Garden when we’re on the west side. The staff has always been very nice and the food is good, but their Orange Beef is exceptional! We call it the one, true Orange Beef.Their Zen menu (vegetarian) is very good, too, and very tasty whether you’re vegetarian or not. Tofu and spinach is very tasty (or is it spinach and tofu?), as well as other items we’ve tried on the Zen menu.Szechwan garden offers carry out, and has a dining room with several tables and booths. I believe they offer delivery through one of the food services, too. The restaurant isnt large but could easy handle a small gathering of family or friends, though you may wish to call ahead for groups. There could be a short wait at peak times, though its not often an issue. Note, the parking area is quite small; there is parking along the side street, next to the small plaza, where its located. Groups may want to carpool.

2022-07-09Gotta be honest, this was a huge disappointment. Strangely unflavorful and yet too spicy with some bites. It’s very underwhelming considering the huge number of positive reviews?

2022-01-05I usually don’t feel the need to write a poor review but it’s been more than one time now that I’ve had an unsatisfactory experience. The lady who answers the phone always seems annoyed and in person commented about how she was surprised I came to pick up my order. I told her that I waited the allotted amount of time that she gave in the phone and the business hours state 9pm as closing and it was 7:30pm when I arrived. She proceeded to say that Google hadn’t updated the information about the hours and that sometimes they leave early and that day they had a technician coming in to fix something. I’m sorry but it’s not my problem if a worker wants to leave earlier than the given business times and if it’s that concerning they should say that when they give the pick up time. This is the last thing I wanted to hear after I’m getting off work and trying to get my dinner back home. Not only was the service poor but the food was horrible. I’ve always given rave reviews about this place and the food but there’s just no excuse. The fried wontons had no filling and tasted stale, the fried rice was clumped together and tasted old. It was beyond disappointing and it’s most likely the last time I’ll go there.

2021-11-20Have been going here on and off since moving to Lakewood about 5 years ago. We had previously dined there several times with friends as well.Very good food at a reasonable price, always piping hot and customer service is unbeatable.
