Response from the owner 4 months agoIm sorry that you didnt like our offer, but obviously you determined that our offer was fair since you ended up selling it to us.This kind of response to a customer is exactly why I wouldnt do business here. And before you throw me in the same basket as this customer you disrespected, I ran a sales program for Toyota that made Toyota magazine several times. And yes many customers dont understand how some businesses work, but I never talked to a customer like that. Whether you realize it or not every dissatisfied customer, every distressed customer is a chance for you to hit a homerun. You struck out.
I have been doing business with the great people over on second street for years! Whether it be a nice gift for my best friend or help with a larger purchase using their great lay away plans they always have the best merchandise and great service!
Easy to locate just off Lake Ana in Barberton. Friendly sales associates who greet you as soon as you walk in. Very knowledgeable in the jewelry industry. They have been around and will continue to be for years to come, hopefully. Their prices are great!! If they dont have it, they will know someone who does and will help you get it. I have been using them for all my jewelry needs for over 20 years.
I love this place!! I wouldnt trust anyone else with things. They have always gone above and beyond to help me out and are always willing to work with me when Im running late or low with funds. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for fair prices or just good, honest, and friendly people to work with. If I could rate the staff, I would give them a 10 out of 10!
The two men who typically work at the gun counter give the worst customer service I have ever seen. Of the three times Ive been into Sydmors they have typically been talking to each other and have made no attempt to help me. The woman from behind the jewelry counter helps me every time and gives great customer service. This most recent visit I walked to the gun counter and as I was standing there the two men stood in the front of the store and talked about how much they hate helping customers with gun transfers. As the woman was assisting me I could overhear them talking about customers seeking gun transfers are useless and look at nothing else. I will not be returning to a place where the staff refuse to help me and then complain that I was providing them with business right in front of me. If they dont like gun transfers I will gladly pay another business to do it other than Sydmors.
They have really good customer service! The prices are decent, really good quality jewelry!!! They have layaway as well on certain stuff. Awesome place! Well ran, great owner, great quality stuff! Check them out!
Sue @ Sydmors is a GREAT lady to deal with, with quite a bit of knowledge. Sydmors offers the highest prices I could find in the Akron area for scrap, and doesnt try to scam you and assume you know nothing like other area pawn shops.Dont get scammed at other area pawn shops for scrap gold paying 15-20% of spot. Do yourself a favor and go to Sydmors and see Sue, theyve been around this long for a reason.
We called a couple of times asking if they might be interested in buying a few gas powered lawn equipment items that we bought at an estate sale they claimed as long as they are in good working condition they are interested in dealing with us we called again to see if they were able to wait on us we would be there a couple minutes before 5 pm they said they would be open and when we pulled up at 4:56 they were closed they seem us try to open the door that was now locked looked at us and smiled after driving almost 35 minutes there and back home I feel that this was inappropriate for what’s supposed be professional the least they could have done is to let us look at what we have and then decide they are not interested in any of the items we have rather than waist time that we could have other wise spent going somewhere else and possibly save gas money and wear and tear on the car I’m so displeased that I will not be returning to this establishment and recommend other to do the same
I have been dealing with sydmors for many years. I will say that the dedicated staff is amazing to work with they are always polite and help whenever they can as well as not afraid to carry a conversation with me. I would recommend if anyone needs to pawn or purchase anything this is the place to go.

Jennine was amazing in helping me find a beautiful ring that was unique and exactly what I was looking for. I cant say enough about how patient, kind and warm she was, all while being respectful of my wishes and listening to me rather than pushing things on me. We will be returning in the future.

They tried to low ball me on what they would pay for a Ridgid power snake . Lowest price online was $120 used they wanted to give me $30. That is a rip off if I have ever seen one. Wont go back there.
Maybe others had a better experience but mine was very dispointing waste of time. Place is a disgrace to pawnshops and doesnt know how to do business and make money. Good buddy of mine recommended me to go there for a loan. I had a month old laptop paid over $200 for it. I was asking only $20 loan and they said its not high end laptop so they dont want it. I politely explained I do alot of business and was new to this shop and if we could work a deal they would profit big in the long run. Was DENIED again rudely. Mind you now my buddy that recommended the shop gets $35 loans all the time for his $80 tablet. What a Joke. I went to North Hill Pawn they gave me $50 Glady.

I used sydmors for my ffl transfer of the most expensive pistol that I’ve ever purchased msrp is almost 2k, (caught a great deal on a new one online) had it shipped to them and they handled it efficiently and professionally, I will use them again for any other online purchases, the fee is completely reasonable, and they got me in and out, also had a ruger redhawk there for a great price, I currently have the shoulda boughts on that one.... overall great experience check them out

Dont go there they find any reason to take your stuff said they sent letter but have no proof first they told me they would not give it to me because its under my wifes name I said I would have her call and then they back peddle and said she would not give it to her either then they said it was tracked by postal and they knew I received it but the post office would have no record ater I asked for date it was mailed so I could check with post office then according to sydmores they say they have letter but have to get attorney to See the letter what a way to treat a customer of about 10 years and the manager would not even get on the phone hmmmm seems suspicious to me. Reply yes I was told that myself or my wife were not allowed to view the paperwork because it had other peoples info and she would not show it to attorney we would have to get it from court yes you sent letter but not for that ticket and did not mail copy of letter either just a paper saying you mailed letter
My boyfriend has bought a pistol here two times, both are great quality, excellent pricing, and excellent customer service. We will be back for sure.
Use extreme caution when dealing with these people... I took an item down there that was worth $900...the lady showed me how they use ebay to set pricing, and showed me the item I had brought down ...was only selling for $180... I KNEW this could not be true...so after leaving, I actually tried to find it in ebay...could not find any...for no where near..what she showed me...I knew it....These people are using that as a scam to think what you have, cant be worth as much as you think...shame on them.I mean, I understand I wasnt going to get half of whats its worth...but, dang...I bet if I would have taken her offer of $180... it would have been in the front window with a sticker for $900
I have had about 4 guns shipped there with 1 more on the way and am always greeted with a warm welcome and promptly helped. I will continue to go there and possibly, get jewelry in the near future.

2022-05-20This pawn shop really isnt just a pawn shop, they sell brand new jewelry as well. The guys that own this place are willing to work with you to help with loans or buying the right thing for you as a man, such as a firearm, or the ladies, such as jewelry, or a firearm as well.With layaway as an option they make it easy to get what you need and at a fair price compared to a lot of places in the surrounding area.Well worth dropping in and taking a look. You wont be disappointed.

2021-07-02Great prices on wedding rings both men and women. They can send out orders if theres a ring you want made. They help while my fiance and I were there was 1st class she immediately greeted us and walked us through what they had let my fiance try on as many rings she wanted, was very patient with us. Told us about there layaway and policy which is 90 days. They also have weapons and ammo tools games and more.

2021-07-08My boyfriend got me a ring for my birthday and to replace one that I had lost. There was a mixup and upon letting them know, they went above and beyond to correct the mistake. I’ve dealt with a good amount of unscrupulous pawn shops, so this was extremely refreshing. The owners, Jeff and JT, as well as the diamontologist/gemologist Sue, are extremely nice and very customer service oriented. I absolutely recommend coming here for a purchase. They also have a very nice selection with a wide price range for jewelry (probably other things as well but I only looked at the jewelry).TLDR: Upstanding shop that I highly recommend!

2021-01-04I came here years ago when I needed a small loan and was treated very professionally and kind. All the staff were very nice and welcoming. Because of the hard times everyone is facing now I lost my job and consequently my health insurance. I needed another small loan to get a very important medication and visited them again today. They once again gave me what I needed to pull thru until I get my check later this week. Thanks so much to everyone at Sydmores. Your help is very very much appreciated!!

2020-01-27Went there to sell my 4k apple tv. Very reasonable price and overall pleasant experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Now when it came to trying to buy a fishing rod they were not so reasonable. They did try to work with me, but these guys are not fisherman and i think they may have overpaid for the item and are unable to get down to the price that i was requesting. I will be back in the future to attempt to purchase that fishing rod and if i have anything else to sell. Great place i highly recommend a visit
