If you’re looking for a new car check out Buick of Sweeney and ask for Nike Sugar. He made my experience buying a car wonderful, he treated my mom and I with nothing but respect. He made us feel comfortable and not pressed to buy ASAP. Sweeney truly took care of us and our needs. I will never go anywhere else to buy a car.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Paul Kello and Dave Vantell are the two individuals I dealt with and I couldnt have asked for a more professional experience. They were straightforward and guided me through my first time car buying process. They explained everything and made sure that I understood everything before moving on. They made my car buying experience extremely easy and stress free. At no time did I feel overwhelmed or that they were trying push me ahead in the process or sell me something I didnt need. I would recommend these two to anyone looking to buy a car through this Sweeny dealership. I look forward to buying my next car from Sweeny.
I had gone to several other dealerships and they wanted to get more money out of me or didnt meet any of my needs. I would definitely recommend Sweeney to anyone. They have amazing customer service, they do everything around what the customer is looking for. I am so pleased with this place and the car I purchased!
I recently bought a truck from here. The people were nice enough, but the workers are pretty unwilling to work with you on price. They will not go lower than the internet price they have listed. Despite my truck needing new tires soon and some minor interior stains they were unwilling to negotiate. They simply tried to argue that it was a fantastic price compared to the NADA listings (which I find to be in most cases higher than Kelley Blue Book values that everyone including insurance companies use). The price wouldve been fair had the truck been in excellent shape (i.e. nearly new tires and no stains). With these issues, $1000 shouldve been knocked off. It makes me wonder why they even need salesmen since the price is the price. I bought the truck anyways because it was the best I could find in my price range and I didnt have the time to keep looking. It also took them 55 minutes to match the interest rate I was already approved for which was a big waste of time. I was originally supposed to meet with Bill Baird and he seemed nice online but was too busy with other customers when I arrived for my appointment. They had Trevor Baulo assist me. He didnt help me at all with the truck. He sat inside while we looked it over and took it for a test drive. When asking about its towing capacity, he didnt have any info available so he simply did a Google search (which anyone can do - I wanted to be absolutely sure I was getting matched up with a truck that can do what I need it to).
The best !! Lisa Sefcik worked hard to make sure my family and I got the best deal. She went the extra mile. We were happy at all the steps of buying a new Chevy Suburban !! I felt relaxed and no pressure. The staff was very professional and pleasant. The dealership is clean and bright.I enjoyed the entire experience and will shop with Lisa again.
We live about an hour away from Sweeneys. We are trying to rebuild our credit and were concerned about how we may be treated. They started the application for us over the phone and were able to verify that we would be able to get financing. Greg Protich and Mark kept in contact with us everyday until my husband and I were able to get the same day off to make the trip to Sweeneys. When we arrived, we were treated with respect. They didnt make us feel like we were terrible people just because our credit wasnt great. Greg and Mark were wonderful through the process. They were very patient and kind. They gave us information they knew we would need to know prior to us asking for it. The few questions we did have, they were able to answer without hesitation. Their service was amazing!
My wife and I just purchased a previously owned Impala at Sweeney. Our sales rep was Brett Barnhouse. I was thoroughly satisfied with the level of attention we received. Over the course of 3 weeks, Brett continually searched through options and kept me updated by email on what he found, how much it would cost and even estimated what our monthly payments would be with financing. When we went to test drive a few options Brett was open and honest with us, gave us his opinion and was always prompt, attentive and helpful - that meant a lot. The next time Im in the market for a new car, I definitely plan to call Brett up again and let him look for options for us.
Trevor Baulo was great. When scheduling my visit for looking at a car I told them most important was my time and no nonsense. Trevor greeted me and let me know he heard what was important to me and met that exactly. He was quick with everything and wasn’t pushy. All was good until the mgr comes over for negotiation and proceeds to tell me I don’t know what I am talking about (I told him most people use KBB to value cars and he told me “No one uses KBB!”). In the end he proved me right seeing how much they listed my car I traded in. 5 stars for Trevor, 1 star for the manager and his insulting attitude.
Lance Kendra is the man to see,... He helped us purchase a 2000 Cadillac Seville with low miles, practically flawless for a used vehicle. He guided us through the purchase process answering all of our questions, making the entire experience pleasant and easy. Before you purchase your next vehicle, give Sweeney look. Their staff is courteous and knowledgeable.
I purchased a 2011 Chevy Tahoe with a certified GM warranty from Sweeney and was impressed at the interaction. Elie Khoury was a great rep and the back and forth on my trade value to the price of the Tahoe was the best experience I have had at a dealership when trading a vehicle. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying a car from Sweeney
Just bought a 2010 GMC Terrain from John Cefalde here at Sweeney. We live about 40 minutes away in Cortland, found the vehicle on line and was very pleased with the way John worked with us on the phone and through text messages to get everything ready for us when we arrived to pick up the car. He made it an easy and a pleasant experience. This was our first visit to Sweeney and first purchase here. Well be back , but hopefully not for awhile. I will keep Johns card on file and recommend him to friends and family.
I went into Sweeney with low expectations since my previous car was just deemed a total loss by the insurance company. So I was walking in with no money down and no trade in. Justin was very understanding of my situation and searched through the inventory to not just find me 4 wheels, but a car I liked and as similar to my previous Cruze as possible. The whole experience was hassle free and no pressure. I couldnt be happier with the outcome.
Found the truck I wanted online.I called and talked to a Ron Cast he answered all my questions and knew all about the truck .He called back the next day and had all the numbers I asked for that was on a Friday made an appointment for Monday. It was well worth the 60 mile drive. Ron had every thing ready to go five star professional. The man that did the financing was awesome! He got me an interest rate that was lower then the pre-approved loan that I had. Best experience Ive ever had when buying a vehicle. Would recommend Sweeneys to anybody!
Bill Baird was my salesman. He was great. He did not pressure me into any thing I could not afford and stayed right within my budget. The Sweeney Staff were polite and helpful. I will be going back to Sweeney when I need to purchase another vehicle. Thanks Bill for all your help... Love my Buick
John Cefalde was our salesman, we bought a 2008 Malibu that was GMC certified. John was great at working with us on the pricing and getting us into what we wanted, he was not pushy at all. A week into it the cars brakes seized and they got it up on the lift right away and delivered it to my Fiance at work after replacing the brakes.
I was asked bring my car in to sell. I gave the guys my VIN and every detail he asked for. After I drove my car down from DC to here which is about 5 hours, he tells me they do not buy cars that were in an accident before. I gave my VIN 4 days before driving. He couldnt do a homework of the background before I drove there. They take customers for granted. When I showed up all he said was we do not take such cars and walked away. I was seriously blown away!
Debbie DePaul our Product Specialist was unbelievable! Everyone involved in our purchase were awesome! Debbie knows her product inside and out! Finance was a really good experience! Not how you normally feel spending money!! Thanks to all of you!Brad Battison assures me Servicing our new Traverse will be the best around!
I recently purchased a 2012 Cadillac from Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman. The salesman, Bill Bross was very courteous and helpful. He answered all my questions. Got me better financing than what I came in with from my lender. I highly recommend this dealership if you are looking for a new or used car. Ask for BIll Bross, I am sure he will make you feel welcome and confidant about the car you are purchasing. If I know of anyone looking for a car I would certainly recommend this dealer and salesman. Thank you wishing you the happiest of holidays at Sweeneys
I came back to Sweeney because I received excellent service with 2005 Malibu Maxx (Chevy side of the street). Salesman John Metz(Buick side of the street) is a nice guy but talks way too much and too often. I had to talk over him to get a word in. If you let him go you can stand there and let him talk all day. I was a little annoyed. Wanted to purchase the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander on the lot. There was a chip in the windshield that they said would be taken care of which they did (drill and fill) at no cost after making an appointment. That was great, no problem. However before we drove the vehicle off the lot a warning light came on. Went back in to let the salesman know the light came on. Since the service department had left for the day(Saturday) I was told to call back and it would be taken care of. Later that day I looked up what the warning was in the owner manual, Tire pressure sensor. Filled all tires to proper pressure WAS NOT DONE BEFORE I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT. One tire was 20lbs below recommended pressure. Filled the tires and light did not turn off. Monday I called the local Mitsubishi dealer to see how much the part would cost through them. $100 Called Sweeney and they told me that it would cost $100, STOP, I was told it would be taken care of let a lone I have to pay $300 for a second key because the vehicle only has one at time of purchase. The service personnel that I spoke with (wish I could remember his name) told me that he isnt going to pay for it. If I had known this I wouldnt have driven the vehicle off the lot! He tries to tell me that he will split the cost of the part. I asked if he would like to split the price of the key also. He said that he cant do that and HE TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE WAS WITH ONE KEY ONLY. SINCE WHEN IS A VEHICLES PRICE BASED ON HOW MANY KEYS!!!! The following Saturday I went in and asked for the General Manager. I explained what happened to Executive Manager Derek Snyder and he took care of the wheel sensor for me. Set up an appointment and did not have a problem since. Thank You Derek for helping me out. Is this what happens when you buy a foreign vehicle from Sweeney or did I just come in at the wrong time? Hopefully this was just a one time thing. Thank You John Metz for trying to help me.
I stopped by Sweeney dealership to look at a new vehicle and I must say they have such a great variety to choose from. By the time I walked in the door I was greeted instantly and Matt Carothers was such an amazing person to work with! He was very professional and made getting into a new vehicle so easy. It shows how much he cares about the people he works with by making sure I was happy and detailed about everything going on. He definitely goes above and beyond for the customer. Travis in the finance department was outstanding and went over in detail on everything! Linda helped me set my new vehicle up and showed me all the controls on the vehicle and made it step by step. The experience I had at Sweeney dealership was like never I had experienced before. They truly do care about the customers and it shows very much! I highly recommend stopping by and getting to experience what I did!
Received a complimentary oil change and tire rotation. They topped off the fluids and were done in a quick efficient manner. They even washed our vehicle for us. The car wash wasnt that great though, our car was still pretty dirty and untouched in some spots. Staff was very nice and courteous. Ill continue to patronize this dealership.
I just bought a 2011 Dodge Caliber from John Cefalde @ Sweeney in Boardman and am completly satisified with my entire experience. John listened to everything I was looking for in a vehicle as well as my price range, and never tried stearing me in a different direction. I am totally satisifed with my new car and my buying expierence.
John Cefalde, the sales person that enabled the purchase of our 328i BMW, exhibited a degree of knowledge and professionalism that was certainly appreciated. He was not only personable and kind, but also efficient, well-organized, most competent, and extremely accommodating. My husband and I were very fortunate to make Mr. Cefaldes acquaintance and are thankful for his sincere and invaluable support.
I purchased a used GMC Acadia. I was given the selling point of a full 12 month warranty that would “cover everything”. Unfortunately for me, 6 days after my purchase, my check engine light came on and I began having issues with my brakes. I pulled out my paperwork on my warranty- for the one included and the extended warranty, and noticed I had a 30 day waiting period on it. I asked the service department about it. The first person I spoke to suggested I get diagnostics on it to see if it was something that I could wait 30 days to fix. This is unacceptable as it was now 7 days since my purchase. I then called into the sales department and spoke to someone in finance who promised to look into it for me. I received a phone call back from the service department saying what I was told was incorrect and if it is something covered by the warranty, it would be handled right away. I decided to get my vehicle in for service but had to wait for 5 days until they had a rental available on the lot for me. I had to rent a vehicle out of pocket to get me through those 5 days as my children live outside of the busing vicinity for school. During that time, my salesperson called to ask about my purchase and I explained that my brakes were already having issues and my check engine light was on. He was sympathetic and he assured me that it would be fully covered under the 12 month warranty. As of now, my vehicle has been in for repair for 3 days, with one being a holiday. The service department just called to let me know they figured out the issue which is not covered by the warranty and will be about $730 with parts and labor. They don’t have parts available so I can “go ahead and hold onto my rental”.I am two weeks into ownership of this vehicle. I’m about a thousand dollars into repairs and rental fees. And I haven’t even made the first payment. The run around I have received and the conflicting stories depending on who I talk to does not sit right with me in any way. This is a terrible way to treat a customer but I’m obviously stuck here since I have a loan on the vehicle.I really appreciated the help of my salesperson and felt he did a great job assisting me with my needs. Beyond that, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone because I do not want them in the position I am in.
Ive gotten 3 leases through Sweeney GMC and each time its been great! I work with the same salesmen everytime I am there. I would recommend this dealer to anyone! I live in Cleveland and would rather drive down to Sweeney then to use a dealer up in my area. If you need a nice vehicle and want a good deal, ask for Matthew Carothers! Great guy and great customer service!
I spent 3 hours trying to deal on a suv advertised at a certain price, after checking out my truck and going somewhere to get the deal I found out the price of suv 🚙 was $3000 more than price on web site. Not very happy they wasted my time. Never have I had a experience like this!!
I would give a negative response if I could. This dealership is made up of nothing but lieing two faced self centered salesman. They don’t stand behind anything they sell. I went in for a issue with my truck and they told me they were doing test for an hr and a half and didn’t find anything but I owe them 46.00$ for nothing because the extended warranty they sold me doesn’t cover my problem. Would not recommend even pulling in the parking lot.
Possily a good dealership if you are a GM employee. Their deals seem to be based on GM employee discounts. The staff was not very friendly or attentive. In a follow up letter, the sales rep butchered my name, which indicated to me that I was inconsequential as a customer. He had the same name as me. I would not recommend this store.
Zero stars if i could.. car manufactures and dealerships screw people without any type of recourse or accountability... if we sell a product that turns out to be faulty we are forced to give give the money back and or replace the product for them there is nothing you sign a contract for what you assume is a great in well working order product...only to find out it is not and there is actually a class action lawsuit on the engine that is in your car due to the amount of oil it burns. 2.4 eco tech feel free to validate the claim.. upon looking at reviews for gmc terrian there was zero informatio expressing this concern.. type in gmc terrian burning oil then flooded with information on it .. called to express my concern to see my options was made to believe they were about to help me out in this unfortunate situation to be brought me in just to go through the same process as i would if i wanted to buy another car.. so no there were no otpions available to me just dump more money into this b.s practice.. now im stuck with a car tht burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles.. i drive alot so this will be a regular thing for me.. if told about this issue prior i would of just not purchased this vehicle. And it is highly likely the dealership or gmc had no knowleldge of this considering the class action lawsuit against them... i wasnt trying to grt out of my car wasnt trying to play the system. Just wanted a reliable car i didnt have to deal with issues so soon after the purchase. . Thanks for nothing and thanks for the lemon. Better believe i will not recommend to anyone. I doubt anyone will read all this too but just needed to vent my frustration on my 15k investment that is practically worth nothing already. Thanks again
I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra from Sweeny GMC and I was pleased with the way everything went. They had a good selection and I was able to find what I was looking for. I was happy with the staff at the dealership and Ron Cast was knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.
Was lied to by my salesman on my lease. Was flat out told isnt it great you will not have to worry about any normal maintenance problems for the next 33,000 + miles and at 22,000 I get a Bill for $70.00 for replacing A.C. filters. WHY IN THE HELL DO WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH LIARS JUST TO OWN AN AUTO.
I Had The best Experience buying A Car That I have Ever had.Bill Baird Was First Class.Linda monk Turned Me On To sweeneys,I Went To School With her.David In Finance Was First Class,As Was Linda that explained All The Features And How To Use Them With my Wife.I Will Recommend Sweeneys And Especially Bill Baird To All My Friends looking For A Car.Thank You Bill for All Your Help,i love This Car.5 stars All The Way,Jerry Kurtz...........
Wow, what can I say! The folks at Sweeney Chevrolet took real good care of me. George Key in particular, the car salesman that went above and beyond. I had been thinking about getting a new vehicle for quite some time and the great people at Sweeney provided such a fabulous car buying experience.. Ill buy all my cars from Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman.
We had a wonderful experience with Sweeney. We purchased a 2011 GMC Acadia. Bill Bross was an excellent salesman and we have and will continue to refer people to Sweeney. The folks at Sweeney were very helpful and professional during the entire purchasing process. Our next car will definitely be purchased at Sweeney!
Great experience with Sweeney GMC and cannot be happier with my GMC Canyon!! From the first time I called and spoke with Kelly from the internet department to getting started with Ron Cast upon arrival at the dealership. Ron was great to work with!!! I told him where I told him where i needed to be to make the purchase and he got it done!!! I cam from Pittsburgh to make this purchase and was happy I did!! Thanks Again Geoff Kolton
The staff here is nothing but kind and genuine. My father is a veteran and becomes nervous meeting sales staff. Knowing this, Mike Winger has gone out of his way to make my Dad feel comfortable. He organizes the information he presents in an easy-to-understand, no pressure manner. I feel I can trust this business and Im excited to see what my father drives off the lot! Thank you, Mike! And thank you Sweeney for treating us like people!
Tom Jones helped me choose the perfect car. I purchased a 2015 Terrain. I was impressed with his knowledge on all of the cars at Sweeney Buick GMC on Market Street in Boardman, Ohio. Tom was friendly and enjoyable. He worked out an excellent deal for me, and didnt quit until I was driving away in my new car! I will recommend family and friends to stop by SWEENEY BUICK GMC and request Toms help. Thank you for your patience and kindness. This was a great experience from start to finish!!
I am a recent college graduate and was so looking forward to shopping for my first car. Although, this was my first car, all four of my family members drive a car from Sweeney and have had wonderful experiences. Bill Baird sold me my GMC Terrain and everything about my experience was perfect! He matched my excitement about the whole experience, was so patient when dealing with my questions and my overprotective fathers, and introduced me to a car that I absolutely love! We will definitely be going back to Sweeney and Bill!
I had a wonderful experience with Sweeney Boardman. Daryl Plant sold me a GMC Terrain which I absolutely love!. It wasnt an easy feat to accomplish as the one I wanted wasnt available and he had to go search for it.. He found it in record time and had it to me in just a couple days. Highly recommend Sweeney Boardman, especially Daryl Plant
We had an overall excellent experience at Sweeney Chevrolet. John Metz was extremely helpful and knowledgable throughout our entire purchase of our new Acadia Denali!! It was very smooth and organized process, which made for a nice day because buying isnt always easy, but it was for us!! I would highly recommend going to Sweeney and looking for John, you will not be disappointed!!
I want to personally thank Steve Bannon for a great day on11-24-17 @ the dealership. Steve Bannon was great on picking out a car to stay in my budget. My wife and I couldnt be happier. I know that will be my dealership from now on because of Steves experience and knowledge on there inventory. It was done deal in a short timely manner. If anyone is looking to buy a nice used vehicle or new go see Steve Bannon and he will meat your budget and neads. Thanks again Steve Bannon, see you next time

2022-06-03I bought my first car from there in July 2021. I made an appointment because my check engine light came on and I knew that my car was still under warranty. The secretary assured me that it would take 2 hours, tops. I attend Kent State University, and my parents came up to get my car so that I didnt have to miss class. It ended up that my parents were sitting waiting at the dealership for my car for over 4 hours - just to find out they didnt have the part in stock and didnt know when they would get the part. I understand supply chain issues because of COVID, but I told the secretary and gave her the exact code that Auto Zone had gotten when they diagnosed my vehicle. So no work was done to my car in the 4 hour time period. I understand that my father cased a scene in asking the auto man why it took so long and what was going on with my vehicle. And now since the car is under my fathers name there, I cant bring it back and they wont change it to my name. Honestly unbelievable. I know from personal experience at my job, that if I told someone their order would be ready at a certain time and it isnt - I would get yelled at. Not only that, but work wasnt down to my car, it was just sitting there for 4 hours. It took them even 2 hours to diagnose it. Not only that but they cleared the stored code out, so I couldnt even take it elsewhere and get it fixed while it was still covered under my warranty. I made an appointment, for the first available one of the morning. Not to mention there were people who had been there for 2 hours for a damn oil change. 2 hours?!I really regret purchasing my car from Sweeney Chevrolet and once Im in the market for a new car next year, I will not be returning to this dealership.

2021-07-07I didnt like the experience. I had a young salesman who I guess thought I couldnt afford a expensive vehicle. Once I told him I was going to put $10,000 down payment and a 650- credit score, he settled down. I dont know maybe because I was African American.? IDK.. I wont go back to Sweeney Motors

2021-05-28Demetrius Ison was awesome to work with. He went above and beyond working with me on my trade and again on finding my next car. I wanted to trade in my truck for a lightly used SUV. I found a very nice vehicle to use for work and personal use. Sweeney made the entire process extremely easy.

2021-06-27Poor customer service! Can’t wait from at least to be up so I can move on to a new dealership this is my first time dealing with them and probably gonna be my last time ! Really upset over a oil change I made an appointment for it dropped it off the night before and was scheduled the next morning for an oil change never received the car or any kind of heads up on what was going on so I waited till the next day still heard nothing no phone call so I called that evening and here to find out no one has even locked or touched my car ! I totally understand being short help but it only takes a minute to call a customer explained the situation and not let the customer hang on waiting and waiting and inconveniencing everyone by asking them to give them a ride somewhere !

2020-07-24Do NOT buy from here, recently bought a used car in what seemed to be good condition. Its real nice 2014 Chevy impala, really good looking and a lot of features and less than 40,000 miles. Well we thought we got 1 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Which is just bs. The day we bought it and was driving down the turnpike it started shaking when it hit 60, and its obviously off balanced. So took it in to have it fixed (under the 1 year warranty) they said it would be $100 just to look at it! What a rip off!! Will never go there again!
