I have brought many clocks in for repairs over the years. The quality of repair is superb. I have never had to bring a clock they have repaired back in for service other than a routine cleaning and oiling. Many family heirlooms are still providing me joy, happiness and continued memories thanks to Suburban Clock. I just today dropped off a cuckoo clock for repair that holds a very special meaning to me. I know it’s in good hands and when complete will offer me many more years of service! Places like Suburban Clock are a dying breed and I’m glad I’m able to find such a place so close to home!
Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They can fix your grandmas old antique clock. Or you can find an heirloom grandfather clock or cuckoo clock for your family. Plus many other odd and unique clocks. They have big clocks and kids clocks. Stop by and look, make sure its near the hour. Youll be amazed. Worth the trip in. (And yes, Dicks bakery is next door with their famous date n nut cake.)
Beware Ripoff EstimatesAntigue clock suddenly stopped working. Took to Suburban Clock for estimate. On delivery of clock, noticed and pointed out loose screw in clock case to staff there. Left clock for them to review and make estimate. A week later, informed that clock needed total rebuild and new main spring at estimated cost of $400. Retrieved clock. Noticed that clock had not been checked prior to estimate (screw would have to have been reinstalled). Installed screw myself (one minute). Clock now works great again.Beware of ripoff estimates at this business. As non clock makers, customers are quite vulnerable to up charged estimates.Addendum, re owners response. The comment above is not a complaint regarding repair prices. The issue is that a full and unneeded overhaul was quoted without anyone ever examining the clock. The owners response sadly avoids the issue and tries to re characterize my comment.
Absolute terrible service - watch out, the head repairman tries to sell you a new clock rather than fix your clock. He asked me how old my clock was, THEN told me clocks dont last that long. He tried to sell me a $2000 clock instead of getting my clock fixed for $200. Then he took my clock in to get an estimate but after 3 weeks, he never called so I took it back. Ill find somewhere else to fix it.

2022-02-27Several months ago my Waterbury clock quit chiming properly. Every time it would begin to strike, then would continue chiming until the spring unwound. I had had the clock cleaned and restored by Suburban some years ago and they did a fine job. I took it in, explained what was happening and was told without anyone even opening the front or looking at it that they would have to take the clock apart to repair it and the cost would be in the neighborhood of $250-300. I didnt have the work done since it kept good time and isnt worth the cost of repairs. I posted a picture on the Clock repair facebook group. Several people told me that the activating lever had become slightly bent because it was catching on the gears. I bent it back into place and adjusted it so it wouldnt catch, a 3 minute job including removing the face. It now runs and chimes like new.Suburban clock is a very reputable company and they do fine work but I was very put off by their attitude regarding this particular job as well as the sight unseen repair quote. In the future will get other opinions before having work done by them.

2018-02-10Went in with a friend to drop off a clock for repair, so many cool clocks to look at!!! Ended up getting a cute robot clock made out of old bike chain parts, from germany. They have a clock for all budgets. Staff was very friendly. Parking downtown right in front of the building, open saturdays untill 4pm. The gentleman behind the counter gave me 10% off my new clock. Thank you!!!

2020-03-08Excellent service and help from Klaus and the other staff. They got my grandparents wall clock working for me again. I hadnt heard it chime in at least 10 years. Getting it working again meant a lot to me and my family.

2020-09-25Dropped off a few watches and a wall clock to have repaired. Told it was going to be 2 weeks. Called after 2 weeks and was told they lost my tickets and will call me back. Received a call back and said it was going to take another week. Again after waiting a week without communication, I called to to find out it was going to take yet another week. Understandable if work gets backed up but the lack of communication with the customer was poor. Still waiting for repairs to be done.

2019-09-23My wife & I had our grandfather clock repaired by Suburban. The repairman ,Clay, was very knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing during the process.A week after the repair Clay had to come back to make a minor adjustment which was done without any hassle The service was exceptionable I would highly recommend this company if you need your grandfather clock repaired

2020-02-11I brought them 2 different clocks on 2 different occasions recently.Klaus, who I believe is the owner looked at them and told me they were not fixable.said parts were no longer available.I said bummer.I than took both clocks to Eberts in Norton and she is fixing both of them at a reasonable cost.SO THIS PLACE JUST LOST MY CONFIDENCE AND BUSINESS.I WOULD NOT GO BACK.

2020-09-09Tried to tell me an old manual mantle clock was worn out and couldnt be repaired. Tried to sell me a $200 quartz movement or another clock. 3 months later the clock maker who was overhauling my 1800s grandfather clock fixed it by turning the movement about an inch (at no charge). Has worked just fine since. Ripoff much? Completely dishonest business.

2020-03-14Clock was ready sooner than promised! How often does THAT happen? Guys are a little gruff, but I didnt go there to get a grandpa, just needed my grandpas clock fixed. They did what j expected, not cheap, but not unreasonably expensive. I definitely recommend Suburban Clock as a skilled and trustworthy business to patronize.
