Several months ago my Waterbury clock quit chiming properly. Every time it would begin to strike, then would continue chiming until the spring unwound. I had had the clock cleaned and restored by Suburban some years ago and they did a fine job. I took it in, explained what was happening and was told without anyone even opening the front or looking at it that they would have to take the clock apart to repair it and the cost would be in the neighborhood of $250-300. I didnt have the work done since it kept good time and isnt worth the cost of repairs. I posted a picture on the Clock repair facebook group. Several people told me that the activating lever had become slightly bent because it was catching on the gears. I bent it back into place and adjusted it so it wouldnt catch, a 3 minute job including removing the face. It now runs and chimes like new.Suburban clock is a very reputable company and they do fine work but I was very put off by their attitude regarding this particular job as well as the sight unseen repair quote. In the future will get other opinions before having work done by them.

Went in with a friend to drop off a clock for repair, so many cool clocks to look at!!! Ended up getting a cute robot clock made out of old bike chain parts, from germany. They have a clock for all budgets. Staff was very friendly. Parking downtown right in front of the building, open saturdays untill 4pm. The gentleman behind the counter gave me 10% off my new clock. Thank you!!!

Excellent service and help from Klaus and the other staff. They got my grandparents wall clock working for me again. I hadnt heard it chime in at least 10 years. Getting it working again meant a lot to me and my family.

Dropped off a few watches and a wall clock to have repaired. Told it was going to be 2 weeks. Called after 2 weeks and was told they lost my tickets and will call me back. Received a call back and said it was going to take another week. Again after waiting a week without communication, I called to to find out it was going to take yet another week. Understandable if work gets backed up but the lack of communication with the customer was poor. Still waiting for repairs to be done.

My wife & I had our grandfather clock repaired by Suburban. The repairman ,Clay, was very knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing during the process.A week after the repair Clay had to come back to make a minor adjustment which was done without any hassle The service was exceptionable I would highly recommend this company if you need your grandfather clock repaired

I brought them 2 different clocks on 2 different occasions recently.Klaus, who I believe is the owner looked at them and told me they were not fixable.said parts were no longer available.I said bummer.I than took both clocks to Eberts in Norton and she is fixing both of them at a reasonable cost.SO THIS PLACE JUST LOST MY CONFIDENCE AND BUSINESS.I WOULD NOT GO BACK.

Tried to tell me an old manual mantle clock was worn out and couldnt be repaired. Tried to sell me a $200 quartz movement or another clock. 3 months later the clock maker who was overhauling my 1800s grandfather clock fixed it by turning the movement about an inch (at no charge). Has worked just fine since. Ripoff much? Completely dishonest business.

Clock was ready sooner than promised! How often does THAT happen? Guys are a little gruff, but I didnt go there to get a grandpa, just needed my grandpas clock fixed. They did what j expected, not cheap, but not unreasonably expensive. I definitely recommend Suburban Clock as a skilled and trustworthy business to patronize.
