One of the worst dealer ever. Keep the truck for more than a week with no diagnosis. After diagnosis they dont fix the truck for a week, when I about to release they charged $757 for diagnosis. Pretty much you will lose money for no fix or 2-3 weeks time. Need to stay away them
Had a really disappointing experience in this place. To summarize, my truck was inside the shop for about 5-6 hours and at the end, they had no clue what was wrong with my truck. I needed to leave around 8-9 pm to deliver the freight. Even though they had no idea of what was going on, they charged me $625. A couple weeks before, I had replaced my alternator for $540 in another place. The fact that they charged so much and had no idea what was going on with my truck was really frustrating. I didn’t complain, just paid my due and ain’t ever going back there.
They are a scam. Half an hour labor to look at the bracket on the bottom of my seat and go to parts department to see if they have it. Are you kidding me? They did a pm dot and they returned my truck leaking more oil in more places than before I brought it. None of the people communicate in there and couldnt tell the company what they did on the update request until I THE OWNER requested to leave and take it to another dealership. It was brought in Friday evening, they said would be looked at Saturday, was called Saturday and told Id have to wait until Monday. Monday morning I am here they said waiting further diagnostics, considering they didnt even tell me it had the pm done already. Would never recommend anyone here. Even my VRT department thought it was a scam and considering they get better labor rates at truck countries cause of the 1000 trucks a year they buy from them, youd think theyd want to keep my company happy. Would never recommend this branch to anyone.
Truck had to be towed in to this place on Tuesday night, needs a turbo. Called at 10.15 Wednesday, said it was being assessed, Id get a written estimate as soon as they were done. Did not get anything, called at 15.30, was told yes, needs a turbo, did we want to order one? Yes! Evidently got the piece Thursday, closed Friday, called Saturday, we dont do that sort of work on the weekend. Called Monday, we may get to it this afternoon, should be done tomorrow (Tuesday). And service manager is not returning calls. All the while, have a loaded trailer in their yard, paying driver & hotel. Never again with these people.
Brought my truck in for a coolant leak. Turned out to be a radiator issue. Surprisingly enough the dealership did NOT have a radiator in stock and had to order one in. They missed the order cut off so the radiator would not arrive by the 10am I was told the evening before. The truck gets pulled from que and sits and waits for the radiator to show up. Truck is back outside, and not being prepped for the new radiator installation. I am told it will be a 7 hour procedure once the radiator has arrived. I have been in a lot of shops, and believe me when I say no one moves very fast in this one. Most of the time staff are found congregating near the center desks. As someone who gets paid by the mile, it is very frustrating to see, and not the service I expected based on service at other Freightliner dealerships across North America. Not sure I would recommend this place. Even on arrival you can spend a very long time in the service advisor check in area before you are even acknowledged.
Brought my truck in the shop on Friday 08/21/20 and just got it back today on 08/25/20. There were multiple repairs so I am satisfied with the time frame and the fact that communication back and forth was good. My main problem with the dealership was the parts department. I spent over $4,400.00 on parts and labor, but when I went to check on a new seat, steering wheel, lights, etc I stood there at the counter for six minutes without anyone at the counter acknowledging me. A simple Ill be with you in a moment would have been appreciated. They will not have to worry about seeing my face at their parts counter. There are to many other choices for me to put up with this level of poor service!
The attitude of the service department was really poor. Had a problem that they just couldnt understand. They charged over $600 to diagnose the problem, and did nothing to fix it. Ended up taking the truck to Fyda Freightliner in Cincinnati the problem was taken care of free of charge because it was a recall item. Give me a break Stoops!
One star for the experience from the service department and technicians during my service visit on 2-1-2017, on a 2015 Sprinter vans first 20k service. Extremely low customer service, poor communication from employees to customer, conflicting parts prices from the parts department to the service department, resulting in over charges to the customer, unauthorized added charges for services covered under warranty, missed services performed according to the service schedule and technician, and poor attitude and behavior interaction overall. I was blown away by how UN-service oriented and concerning this staff was. The next day I contacted the General Manager of Dayton Stoops and shared my experience with him over the phone. He was apologetic and relayed his concerns to correct the problem; my feedback was well received. In fact he thanked me for providing the feedback, which as he stated would be used as a training aid in an effort to change their service delivery to the customer. So, for this reason, I add 1 more star, to 2. Finally, the GM arranged for the service department to provide me a refund for the the charge that was supposed to be covered under warranty. I had to revisit the store in order to receive my refund however, from the service manager himself. The operations staff did not know how to make the system provide the refund, so the service manager and I agreed on a merchandise credit instead. Once done, and in front of the service staff, I relayed why I felt the way I did about my experience in their shop and why I spoke with the GM about it. The service manager apologized for the incident and that was that. I felt that the acceptance of my feedback was well taken by the GM, not so certain about the service department staff. There seems to be a workplace culture and habit of poor customer service delivery, likely from poor communication ability or desire from the staff to the customer. Hopefully, Stoops will improve.
Worst freightliner dealer in Ohio. They lie to get your business.I was told parts are in stock now and my truck would be ready sometime today. No problem, called this morning to check status. Parts had to be ordered wont be until Monday .Monday evening still no progress.Im ready to drive to Indianapolis freightliner where they at least tell you the truth and not lie.No one knows anything about anything. They BS most of the time on the shop floor.
Hey Im William Cooper Im the CEO of Cooperville LLC and I just got work done on my 2017 Freightliner Cascadia through these guys at Stoops Freightliner out of Dayton, OH, they did exceptional work on my vehicle and was fast and efficient I would definitely recommend anyone to come and get your commercial vehicle serviced by Stoops in Dayton, OH.
This place needs a negative rating. Truck was brought in on Friday and got the approval Tuesday afternoon to put a new egr in it. Was told it would be brought back in on floor Wednesday afternoon to get fixed. Call Thursday to check on it was told would be Friday call Saturday now they tell me Monday asked to speak to shop Forman got transferred then hung up on, called back and ditto.
My experience at this dealership was okay. My truck needed to be serviced due to a couple of check engine lights. There are plenty of dealerships in which your truck wont get looked at the same day. Even though I had to wait six hours for my truck to get looked at, at least the problem was able to get fixed. All in all, those six hours were worth it.
Shout out to Stoops Freightliner, Huber Heights, Ohio! Staff very courteous, Professional, fast in getting repairs done! Very nice lounge for drivers with laundry and shower, and vending amenities! Very satisfied with my service! Was even given number where I could get my trailer repaired in the area! Thank you!!!
The 2 hour diagnosis guarantee is a pipe dream. Earliest Ive had any kind of diagnosis was the next day unless the truck came in on a wrecker, then it was several hours... and theyve rarely contacted me, I had to call for updates. The repairs are usually good, but dont expect a turn around of less than a week and a half unless its a PM. They might get that done on a day or two.
Dont ever take your truck to the Stoops Freightliner in Dayton, Oh. Got my truck there on Wednesday and was told it would be fixed by Thursday. Then got told Thursday it wont be done till Friday. Friday comes and told it would be Monday. Here it is Tuesday and truck still not fixed. This place is a joke. I dont recommend them. There is no communication from them and their rude as Hell. All they had to do was fix a fuel leak on the back high pressure fuel rail.
Ended up by the side of the road one day because my truck kept stalling out on me. I had just filled the coolant a couple days before. Had a slow leak somewhere. Im sick of all this Covid BS, I needed my clothes and they would not let me get them out (was so stressed out, I accidentally left them on the truck). Had to wear dirty, sweat soaked clothes that I was stuck by the side of the road with no A/C with. Special thanks for that, Stoops. So, next day, they found no leak. Lady on the phone was very smarmy and said, almost laughing at me, It was low on coolant. Really? Well I TOLD THEM when I checked it in, JUST FiLLED iT! Less than four days later, I was at our Atlanta terminal. Left my truck there a couple days. Come back to coolant leaking all over under the tool box area. Turns out that the bunk heater core has a leak. Mobile repair guy fixed it. Should have been fixed the first time.
These folks are great!A few years ago we had to have our rv towed and serviced at Stoops Freightliner, the experience was so wonderful that when the chassis A/C on our motorhome went bad, we drove from Virginia Beach to Dayton to have Stoops check it out. (We were headed west, so routing ourselves through Dayton was not a problem.)I went online and completed a service request and was promptly called by Brian in the service dept. We had intended to get to their Dayton facility by 1:00 on a Friday afternoon but had a couple of problems while in transit that caused us to arrive at 4:30 PM! Brian had already left for the weekend but our service writer Colleen said that shed try to get us in to the workflow that evening to assess the problem. Around 9:00 she pinged us to let us know that the problem was a bad hose in the system and that they could get the part the next day if I was willing to cover the expediting cost ($30).To make a long story short, we were back on the road with a repaired A/C system by noon on Saturday. In less that 24 hours our problem had been diagnosed and repaired!Everyone that we interacted with at Stoops was polite, professional and understanding of our situation.
I wish they had a negative star rating, everything about this place is a joke beginning with the rude , arrogant little smart mouth woman working in the service office! Stay away from this place, rude and poor customer service, 4 days to do a diagnostic service and incredibly inflated prices because they feel they have over road drivers in a position to screw them!
Hands down on of the most unorganized and least helpful freightliners I have dealt with. Unfortunately, they are the closest to me so we tend to use them by default but that may be changing in the near future. The only helpful staff member I have had is a young lady that works the night shift. The other staff members cannot follow basic customer request and are not willing to take any responsibility for their own negligence.
Reviews have always been important so after all the good reviews I barely keep my truck going 100 miles to get to this dealership to be met at the door with 2 days for 2 hour diagnostic 5 days to start pay to store trailer somewhere else and not a single person asked what my problem was yet
I had a truck down situation, and This dealer was one of only 2 in the country that had the part. The part was on national backorder. I called and spoke with Johnny in parts. He was Very professional and very very nice. He told me he would be happy to help and assured he would get the part shipped overnight to me. I ended up finding out only a few minutes after talking with him that our local dealer had received our backordered part and that I would have it that same day. I called Johnny back to cancel with much regret, but he was still very pleasant and assured me that I had been no trouble and he didnt mind at all to cancel the order. He also said if he could ever help in the future please call. Good customer service is hard to find now days, and I expected him to be frustrated with me when I called to cancel but I was mistaking. I would recommend anyone in the area needing good customer service to stop in and see Johnny in Parts Dept. Thanks again.
I own about 70 Freightliners, and that being said I have been to every single dealer in the States. The worst customer service i have ever experienced. The shift foremans Joe and James were patient, understandable and even though the truck stayed there for 3 days, I wont complain because we went there with no appointment. But the second shift lady, should not be interacting with customers. Rude, screaming over the phone, and very unprofessional. From the first day that we got there, till payment was made. Be careful who you hire Stoops
This is my first and last Freightliner. The service side of the vehicle is absolutely the worst of any in 35 years of doing business. There is never an answer even after several follow up phone calls as to when we can expect to get our truck back. No one seems to care about getting back with people who have purchased this type of van. We will trade it in and never again bother the personnel. So the rating I would offer to you is extremely poor.
Called on Friday evening and asked if they could work on my truck over the weekend. Lady at the desk seemed unsure so she checked with the manager. She then assured me the DD mechanic would work on it the next day. I called the next day and they said the DD mechanic never comes in on weekends and that someone might get around to diagnosing it. Manager at the hotel said they do this to drivers every weekend.
I have had many dealings with parts departments that couldnt find or didnt try hard enough to find a part needed. Today I contacted 3 Freightliner parts department trying to find a connector for one of my freightliner trucks. Stoops was the last one I contacted I spoke with the parts guy about the part and he said he would call me back in a few minutes. A about five minutes or so got a call back and was told they didnt carry it that he would have a technician make me one and he would send it to me. Few hours later a Stoops parts truck was at our shop with the part ! Now thats customer service ThanksThat is service Thanks.
Took truck in for alignment here after taking it to TA shop which we all know how TA operates. After 7 hours finally get done 333 bucks get out on the highway and no better than TA...didn’t change a thing. Does anybody know how to actually do their jobs anymore???🤷🏻♂️ This country getting bad for robbing you. Parts delivery people are a joke too. Takes two full grown adult men to deliver 5 boxes no bigger than 2 foot by 2 foot lmfao the working class these days is a joke absolute joke gotta charge top dollar to pay yearly salaries on all them pot bellied office workers too...just charge 200 bucks an hour and give yourselves raises while you at it
I called to see if they can work on my Heno flatbed and DOT they said yes. When I got up there from cincinnati they guy said they can do the DOT and get the parts but they cant work on Volvo trucks. I asked why they told me on the phone they can and the guys reply was they dont turn down service..... Makes NO,SENSE and a,waste of my gas, time. Everything looked clean inside but the service sucked
The guys (Jim, Brian, Butch to name a few) did an awesome job working on our RV (class A motorhome). We had several repairs, and they were all completed in the desired timeframe and they stuck to the original estimate. They went above and beyond to find the parts required to do the job. They also worked with our Warranty Company (which is never a fun job) to be able to claim some of the repairs under our warranty policy. I will definitely use them in the future.
I had purchased a part for my Westernstar and I felt like they were misleading in the sale of the part that I needed for my truck. I was very upset and pretty sure they would not make it right with me. I decided to call the manger first and give him a chance to make it right. He was respectful and did make it right with me. So I would say give them a chance. If you have a Westernstar though, know that they do not deal with those parts much and dont really want to. Or a least the sales people dont want to.
Worst place to go if you need work done. If youre looking for a place for your truck to sit for several days without anyone actually doing anything to it, youve found the right place. My husbands truck needed a new wiring harness. They said they ordered it, but we found out a week later they hadnt. Finally ordered it. While we were waiting for the part to come in (over a month) my husband was in Canada when his wiring harness shorted out and almost caused a fire in his truck. The company in Canada that fixed it had the part in a day. Stoops is worthless.
Ive ordered parts on several occasions and call them to check on eta they havent even put them on the delivery truck even after I have already paid for my purchase you cant really depend on them and from my shop had a truck go in twice after I did a chemical head test to get the heads redone they did the head job but sent it back without tighten the head bolts so I recommend you go to another place
Here we are with a broken truck at this place told it would be checked out Friday morning and it is 3 hours till they close and not looked at my truck now they say probably Monday just to look at it I don’t recommend anyone bring there truck here then maybe they will change there ways having my truck towed out of here
Worst freightliner dealing Ive ever had my truck has been in there shop for a month now already have all parts and confirmation of payment when done and every time I call for update they say it will be another week next time will pay tow truck to go 1000 miles before Ill us this STOOPS or any other STOOPS as far as thats concerned DONT USE IF YOU KNOW WHATS BEST I stoped by to grab something from truck and all there so called mechanics were standing around shooting the breeze and never noticed me on promises or in truck I was there for 30 mins and when I left they was still doing the same thing
This are most deceptive people I had ever seen I bought steering gear box they over charged me + the core was 572 I had to wait the core money almost a month and refunded only 316 and they kept the rest its robbery never do any business with this people they are truly deceitful people

2022-02-07Dropped off my truck on Monday February 1, 2022 for coolant leak PM service, transmission and deferential fluid change. It supposed to be done with radiator replacement within 48 hours per their estimated time. Here we go next Monday February 7, 2022 still no radiator fixed paid them PM service and other fluid changes jobs please take a good look at the picture this is how they gave us the truck back stocked in the snow with a flat tire very disappointing horrible place the front desk said we don’t do tires, we gave them a fixed truck with no tire issue and they didn’t even bother to deliver our truck to the front just handed over the keys of the truck stocking in snow and a flat tire and they are not fixing the tire. Now it’s up to you folks I am not going to take my business there anymore.

2022-04-07One of the worst experiences ever with any company that I have to deal with. As a owner operator time is very crucial. I understand that things can get busy but dont lie to me. I get my truck delivered there on a Monday and diagnosis on Tuesday with parts ready. Was told a that my truck would be started on only after a few trucks that were ahead. I was told that my truck would be ready by Thursday morning. So I call and checked tonight and they havent even got my truck in yet. So its atheist 12 hours to get the truck fixed. How is the truck going to be done Thursday morning if they are not on it til Thursday morning. After spending money on hotels and thousands for them to fix the truck I would expect some honesty and workmanship.

2022-05-23One of our trucks was shutting off after 124 seconds. We had to tow it to them. Stoops did said will check it out same day and they did! Fixed and back on the road in less than two days. Hopefully with no issues. Will update if any! Thanks

2019-07-19Fantastic customer service, we ended staying overnight but it was our sleeper time anyway. There was a dog room, we were so happy our Bella loved it! Couch, bowls, treats, toys and even a tv! We just ran out of clean laundry they let us do it for free, we had hot showers and had free WiFi, we ordered from Marco’s pizza and slept well, we only waited 3 hours for them to fix it as it was first in first out! Bella got off her Leah and ran to one of the mechanics and be caught her for me, I’m so grateful for the excellent customer service!!!I highly recommend

2022-04-04Very friendly, very knowledgeable. But have your VIN number ready if you want the correct part. They will identify the part based on the vin. And get it right!

2018-03-25I litterly just left there this morning after having the truck in the shop since Thursday. Had multiple write ups over different issues that are posted in my photos. And none of the writes were addressed as you can tell from the photos I just took. This is not the first time stoops has taken money from the company I work for that they did not do. Would have gave no stars if I could have. I guess the only thing they did do was the service. Not a very good one either.
