St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store and Donation Center in other cities:
I love this thrift store, but their prices have went up drastically . I still visit often and they have sales every weekend which is nice. There are several older gentlemen that put items on the shelves that are always happy and friendly. I enjoy seeing their smiles while i shop.
I am the best dressed girl in Westchester:) I love this place!!! I go and shop there color tags and I have found unique items at this store. The employees are pleasant. Also, you will find that a lot of the items are dry cleaned before they are donated. Its definitely my favorite thiftstore:)
Love to shop this store. Overall great selection at great modern prices. You can always find popular clothing brands on the racks. I only shop for clothing so I can not speak to the other parts of the store but overall its a great place to be.My ONLY criticism is about the clothing racks. Not all the clothing is facing the same way so when I speed through checking tags for good brands I have to pivot my hands and neck in an uncomfortable fashion every few seconds. It adds extra minutes to my search lowering my PPL time/hour. Especially the mens polo shirts.
While shopping I heard not one but a few employees complaining about their jobs. One was girl on the floor...I get it employees complain but the guy working outside sorting items by the entrance crossed the line. He was tossing items and cursing and complaining loudly...his language was unacceptable esp as there were children walking in. Not only does this make me not want to go back it also deters from donating, when you see stuff people donated getting tossed and broken makes you think twice about giving to a company.
Clothing section is fairly well maintained, some sizes and styles are in the wrong places but otherwise a good selection of clothing. The other areas are a bit risky to look through, i was a lady pick one thing up and several things fell from the crowded shelf to the floor. Prices are very fair and the inventory is restocked often.
Excellent selection. Clean store. Clothing is well organized, cheaply priced, and quality. Housewares has a lot of questionable items but what thrift store doesn’t? On the whole this is one of the better thrift stores around and you can truly find exceptional values here. This is the type of thrift store where you can get the thrill of getting a steal where as other thrift stores finely scrutinize donated items and ask neat retail value for them. 5/5 will be coming back.
Great selection and prices! Theres almost too much to choose from, especially in the book section. Overall the store is clean and easy to get around, though the younger childrens clothes could be better organized by size instead of the large grouping they use with a whole aisle for infant through toddler all mixed together.
Best place in the area to find used furniture. much lower prices than Goodwill for larger items like that.Similar or somwhat lower prices than Goodwill in general... Always a better selection of stuff.Stores Roomy compared to some places, not so hard or crowded so navigate through and browse.Helpful friendly staff, probably deserves 5 stars but I like to keep something in reserve....
Amazing, amazing place! Some of the friendliest people from all over the community come here. The workers are interactive with the atmosphere and happy. I love dress shopping here. So many things I want, and its all so cheap its almost free. I will definitelybe coming back here and get some pictures of the place too.
I like this place. Their prices are similar to area Goodwill stores...I just bought a really nice, brand new sterling silver ring here, looks like they received a lot of silver rings in their jewelry case from a vendor or something, I was happy with my purchase. Also purchased a few childrens clothing items. I like stopping at this store when I am in the area. Staff has been friendly when I have been in.
My wife and I were looking to donate furniture that we no longer wanted, but didnt want to throw away. We had a twin mattress frame (used for only 1 year, good condition), a large study table, a microwave cart, etc. Unfortunately, we do not own a truck or any vehicle that can transport these items to a donation center, so my wife scheduled a pick-up with St.Vincent de Paul. When you schedule a pick-up, they assign you a number for a particular day. They dont tell you your number until the day of pick-up, and they dont tell you when they will arrive (thats understandable since several variables could cause delays). 30 minutes before expected arrival, my wife received a call. We had moved all the furniture to our garage and left the garage door open. After 45 minutes had passed, and we did not receive a knock on the door, my wife calls the driver back to see if they were lost. Surprisingly, the driver said he had come to our door, knocked, then left. He said he couldnt wait to call us because he was blocking traffic on Irwin Simpson Rd. We didnt hear a knock at the door, but the driver said he saw our cats, so I do believe him. We are just very confused because we have a long private drive way that a large truck could have used, but didnt. My wife called again to reschedule the pick-up, but now they will not pick-up our items at all due to the traffic on Irwin Simpson. Its sad because now we have to trash the good furniture instead of donating it to a family in need.
Highly disorganized, cluttered and low inventory turnover due to higher thrift store prices. They do not have high quality items but continue to price as though they do,which results in too much inventory that doesnt sell. Stopped going. Poor business plan and poor management. Staff personnel are friendly.
Love the womens clothing. The female staff SHOULD NOT be gossiping and complaining about customers, other employees and their jobs. Another employee stood around with a customer for about an hour and was VERY VERY loud. The employees are unprofessional.Need a new way to display the shoes. Thats a pain to look at the shoes the way they currently are.
HELP! I need to speak to upper management right away!! Jess at this location shorted me my change & then started SCREAMING at me & threatening me when I refused to accept it & showed it was wrong! Total $7.60, I paid $20 & she refused to give me back more than $3.67!!I have my receipt & names of 3 witnesses-people who watched this happen. This is not ok & is THEFT!!JESS was a young girl with long straight blond hair & glasses. She refused giving me any contact #s etc. MASON, OH
A little pricey for used things, the bathrooms have locks on them so when you really have to go you have to find someone which is impossible. I had to go next door and use the restroom at Dollar General or wait till someone get off break the cashier couldnt leave the front.
The store is very good, it is very well stocked and with reasonable prices. I give it four stars because the terminals of the cashiers do not work correctly, I had to go out to get money from an ATM, it is not the first time and with different cards. also one of the cashiers got upset and no longer wanted to attend us.

2022-06-03Massive amounts of stuff in every isle. Not to say the majority isn’t just junk but there are some hidden gems in there for sure. Not very busy when I went and had no interaction from staff aside from the check out. The prices are pretty fair similar to a standard goodwill and there’s a lot of electronics and media. 10/10 will be returning soon.

2022-07-03Awful customer service. They yell at you with attitude over the mic every 5 minutes, in an obvious attempt to kick you out before they even close. Hannah screamed at me for looking at a shirt WHILE I WAS IN LINE. I wasn’t holding up the line, I was the lst person and there was no where else I could go. Then turned around and let someone else do exactly that. Read other reviews, poor attitude and hypocrisy is not new to the store. Screaming at a customer is never okay, I have been a customer service professional for 11 years. There’s nothing professional about miss Hanna, the one with a sleeve tattoo. She was told to apologize and got snarky saying “I’m sorry you FELT I yelled” while rolling her eyes. Completely unbelievable. Why work a job (customer service) if you aren’t even going to attempt to do the job description yet instead intend to make customers feel unwelcome.

2022-04-30I like this thrift store. I often find things there to bring home but can we please fix how the plus size womens clothing is organized? I often find plys size items in weird places. Like skeeveless tops and sweaters abd shorts are actually with the regular sized clothing. If they are mot going to fully commit to organizing a special plus section thet should just rack everything according to size. Most of us know what size we are so putting it with everything else in order by size would solve this problem.

2022-06-13It was a nice looking store that was well-kept. The sales I got were pretty good. The employees were pretty slow at checkout, however.

2022-01-03The front desk employees are super friendly and helpful. There’s a good selection and the prices are reasonable. However many of the back room employees are very rude and make shopping there a highly unpleasant experience. For instance, one yelled at me for shopping off a rack on the floor and then 5 minutes later she was letting other customers shop off the racks without harassing them. SMH.Overall, a nice store and profits go to a good cause but the employees deter me from shopping there anymore.

2022-02-12For a thrift store experience its a nice one. You got to be ready to spend time picking through random stuff to find your treasure, but as long as you are willing to search I can say you will come out with an exciting find!

2022-04-30Today was my first at the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Mason and I really loved the book/magazine and media sections, but I wish that the store was a bit more organized.
