One of the best places to get donuts! What kind of donut do you like? Cream filled? Jelly filled? Peanut butter? Oreo? Maple Bacon? Toasted Coconut? Thats just a sample of what they have! They are only $1 each!!! Its really hard to do, but they found a way to make gourmet donuts at a great price. They also have very friendly service. The hardest part is picking from all the options. If you love the idea of having your favorite desert in a handheld size fost thing in the morning while being heated with s smile, then this is your place!
Holy moly! The maple bacon donut will probably clog your arteries and kill you, but its 100% worth it.What an incredible little donut shop - fantastic selection of donuts, all beautifully made and at extremely reasonable prices. Their coffee is fantastic as well. I wish this place was closer to my home!
This use to be my and my family favorite donut shop but for past month things have changed who ever is making decisions to not sell or cater to like good Friday not selling there regular donuts to cater too lent is making big mistake if your manager cannot cater to all your customers like Apple fritters this is 4th time Ive been there and they either didnt make them or whatever they are doing is bad business I went in there again on 2/3/22 and because they only sold for good Friday and not there regular selection is truly a shame losing customers is not good business when some of us go out of our way go there to get certain type of donut only find out ther only selling good Friday style and girl behind counter kinda rude saying signs on door when there is a sign outside that can tell you is just rude who ever the girl is should not be making decisions if it hurts your bottom line your regular customers are important too last time Im going there and who ever is filling the donuts there not enough filling inside the donuts bite into a donut and barley get creamy fillings is little greedy so no more
This is a nice little donut shop that has all the basics and a few creative donuts to choose from. Their textures are nearly perfect: the raised donuts are thick and fluffy; the cake donuts have a good amount of moisture with a crunchy exterior. Though I havent been blown away by any one particular donut, everything seems to be consistently good. Id definitely recommend giving Spudnut Donuts a try.
SPUDNUTS”, originated in small shop in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1946. Bob and Al Pelton were looking for a recipe that would make a better doughnut and started experimenting with potato dough. Working endless hours, they peeled, boiled and mashed thousands of potatoes until they finally arrived at just the right combination of ingredients. These included choice mashed Idaho potatoes, mountain grown wheat flours and spices from all over the world. The Pelton Brothers knew they had hit it – the perfect recipe for a consistently light, fluffy, tender potato doughnut with a unique delicate flavor. They appropriately dubbed the product “SPUDNUT” in honor of the slang word for potato, “SPUD”As popularity of “SPUDNUTS” grew, the Pelton’s started experimenting with dry flours to replace the nightly drudgery of peeling, boiling and mashing potatoes needed to produce their product. Finally, an Idaho potato processing firm developed a potato flour that ended their search. The potato flour gave the product the same unique characteristics, and best of all, “SPUDNUTS” could now be made from a dry shippable mix. In April 1949, BEREA’s SPUDNUT SHOP became one of the first franchised dealers in the nation and remains one of the few original SPUDNUT SHOPS.For nearly 30-years, The SPUDNUT SHOP was located at 95 Front Street. In 1970 Urban Renewal caused a temporary re-location to 15 Riverside Drive. In 1976, BEREA’S SPUDNUT SHOP moved to the newly remodeled building at 650 PROSPECT ROAD.Today, as in 1949, SPUDNUTS maintains its unique, delicate flavor which truly makes it “THE UPPER CRUST OF THE DOUGHNUT WORLD!”
Last month I stopped in and got donuts on my way to my moms house got home the chocolate sprinkled donuts were completely hard old and cold( like they were in the fridge or freezer ) the jelly donuts I got were very old ( maybe I went on a bad day ) but the sign says baked daily . But these were so old !!!!! I couldn’t believe they would even sell these . I tried calling twice to let them know and no one answered the phone . ( obviously because they know they are selling old donuts and people will call and complain I was a regular costumer coming 3 or more times a week spending alot of money here this isn’t the first time this has happened them selling old cold donuts ! I will never come back here again
I love the fact that this is a local owned shop and not part of the corporate machine, and that they make their donuts fresh daily. However, there is something offputting about the cream inside these fresh treats, its intensely sweet and has a very ..interesting.. texture, which I would attribute to the powdered sugar that is used; not bad, at all, just order a milk to go with it if you dont want a massive sugar rush. The cake donuts here are to die for though!!
Coconut cream sent me to heaven and I wish I could have stayed. They have some very enjoyable donuts. I have tried a bacon donut from there and was not sure how I would like it at first, but after trying it I fell in love with that too. Give them a try if your in the area. They are worth a stop.
Best donuts in the area by far. I drive about 25 minutes to get them. everyone is always super nice. donuts are always fresh. even though there is always people there coming and going I never wait more than 2 minutes to get served. theyve got the donuts game figured out.
The Best Donut in Northeast Ohio and possibly northern Ohio. Been getting donuts here for over 25 years and fell in love first try. No matter where I go I always talk about my favorite donut shoppe and how they do it better than all the rest! Tha k you for being a staple of Berea and my childhood!
Delicious donuts and really nice that they are $1 per always... Wish there was a drive-through or less-contact option though for COVID. A month or two ago, was the only customer allowed in the building at once and an outdoor line was maintained. Was disappointed this past Saturday that 3-4 customers came in the building shortly after me, and were waiting in the relatively small ordering/customer area at the same time. Wish they would return to the rule of only 1 (or maybe 2) customers at a time inside until things are better locally.
I went there for the first time ever the other day. I got the butter pecan donut and it was the best donut Id ever tasted in my life! Im planning on going back there in the morning to get more of them because my mother took a bite and she loved it just as much! Thank you for making amazing donuts lol.
The best donuts I have had ever, I grew up right down the street and have had the privilege of eating their amazing donuts ever since. I live 30 minutes away now but that doesnt stop me from going there. I introduced my wife and her family to them and now they are hooked. I love Spudnuts and always will.
I was dubious of the Best Donuts in America claim. I can say without a doubt, they are, at least, in the running. I’m a sour cream old fashioned lover and theirs is an excellent rendition: craggy, fresh and with a glaze that wasn’t too sweet. I was convinced to get a butter pecan—and that’s where the magic is. Delicious and light cream filling. The buttered and salted pecans on top are incredible, offering and excellent counterpoint to the sweetness. Good Lord, that’s great!
This donut shop has the best donuts ever. They have a blueberry cake that noone can come close to making. They dont always have them so definitely call ahead. They use to take orders but no longer due. Any donut in this shop is always fresh and tastes great!! Please rethink about being able to order your blueberry cake donuts. I have many out of town guests who visit and love those donuts. Thanks again for being a great donut shop!!
This place has the best donuts Ive tried in this state. I dont even usually like filled donuts, but I like theirs. Seriously, their donuts are crazy good. Ive driven 20 minutes out of my way to get them. The only negative thing I can say about Spudnuts is that I find the Butter-pecan donuts to be inconsistent. When theyre good, theyre really good, but they arent always good. Sometimes the pecans are really salty and the filling has too much of whatever artificial flavoring they put in. The saltiness on the pecans is particularly off-putting. I think they would be much better with unsalted pecans, rather than eating a salty donut.
This has always been my favorite donut shop since I was a child. The best donuts I have ever had. The staff was so kind during our recent visit and made a special cinnamon role with maple and nuts for me. It was my favorite and it really made my day to have it! The new changes to the store to include new flavors and donut varieties is fantastic and the kids love them. Many thanks to the Spudnuts staff & family for all that you do!
Now that there is a spudnuts on the south west side you wont have to drive to mentor .Delicious and easy to get .Patiently you may have to wait until customer number 1 of 3 comes out .The selection is a good one.Maple bacon donuts yes please and they have plenty .Cream cheese donuts are good .
Most of the doughnuts are good.. but just not the ones I like. I dont know why but they never have any apple filled doughnuts with the cinnamon and sugar on the outside. They only have apple fritters and those are.. ok i guess. This is the only place Ive ever seen a glazed lemon filled doughnut.. I just want powdered sugar on the outside. I dont mean to complain but they are just so close to being great.
Very friendly service and delicious fresh products. We come up there a few times per month and its always the same. Far superior to any major chain. Highly recommend if you are looking for a doughnut place. Not very expensive, for what you get. Edit 7/20, consider bringing back the walk up window. That was so convenient when you are out walking your dog, or just for whenever.
Had their donuts for the first time the other day and wish I hadnt. Not because they arent good. Quite the opposite. Theyre so good Im afraid Im addicted. Even the day old donuts that were left in my dozen were great the next day. These donuts are thick and yummy. The real deal. They had a great assortment of traditional donuts along with a super variety of uniques. I was a bit surprised too when I discovered the cost of their dozen to be lower than others in the area. I pick up donuts often before seeing clients and these are different, delicious and best priced.
I love this donut place don’t get me wrong but they’re always out of donuts. I have never in my life met a donut place that runs out of donuts. And then when I asked they literally say there’s nothing they can do how about you go make some donuts like every other donut place. We are already paying a dollar a donut for a averagely small doughnut.
Best donuts in Cleveland, hands down. Everyone who has ever tried these prefers these donuts over any else in the Cleveland area.Donuts are always moist and fresh tasting. They are relatively large in size compared to competitors. Lots of flavors, including seasonal varieties.Nice employees
Charming, friendly staff! Fabulous donuts. I like that they offer glazed cake donuts as Im not a fan of lard sweetened fillings. Love the chocolate, sour cream, and blueberry cake donuts! Keep up the great choices/good work, your better than krispy cream, or Dunkin donuts.
Biggest and best donuts ever, and only $1 each. Amazing and fast service too. I work nearby and there was a line that I thought was going to make me late, but they cleared it out unbelievably fast. Even if Im only spending a dollar, I tip at least a dollar every time, the workers more than deserve it.
RIPOFF!weve been loyal weekly customers at Spudnuts for many, many years. over the last 6 months or so we were off the donut kick until today. First thing I noticed was the new box design, flat with a cellophane window The reason was.obvious when I looked at the donuts while paying. The donuts are now $12 a dozen and 1/3 the size they were they now look and taste like the ones at Get Go! They used to be the best now their greed or whatever has ruined them!!! IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT! Hopefully theyll get enough backlash theyll go back to the way they were thats what made them unique and worth the trip there!
Spudnuts is a fixture store at the corner of Prospect and Stearns roads in South Berea near the Strongsville border. Get the sour cream donut. I could eat them every single day they are so good. Its a dated building, but that gives it charm in my opinion. Enjoy spudnuts for a great fresh donut and a cup of coffee.
10/03/2020 UPDATE: The guy running this Berea location is a jerk. He yells at his employees as well as customers. No wonder their service is sketchy. This was my 3rd attempt at having a good experience there. Definitely will not be back. Doughnuts still basic. The doughnuts are pretty basic but nothing special and the service is just spotty, unfortunately. Sometimes theyre happy to be there and help you with your order but other times its like youre a bother to them. I really wanted to like this place but we probably wont go back with so many other sweet treat options in the Strongsville / Berea area.
Oh, My! Sweet memories of....wait for it...196FOUR or FIVE, 105 Front Street? on the Triangle or very close, my third year of Architecture education at Miami University working for Heine, Crider and Williamson Architects, upstairs at 105, sent daily FOR Spudnuts, and OMg so sweet it was, ...Ed Crider signed my State of Ohio registration in 1978, was University Architect at The University of Akron, 1986-98, and all we had was (yuk) Krispy Kreme - BTW, saw the Mentor spott on Good day CLEburg? also worked as Univ. Arch. two years at PITT, 2

2021-05-30Best doughnuts in the southern burbs. So much better than those fake chain shops. Wide variety of flavors and the prices are very affordable. Just tried the new Sated Carmel doughnut and it was straight banging! I highly recommend this place to everyone.

2022-05-23Amazing donuts compared the the larger chains. Unfortunately they’re usually out of certain varieties like the bacon and others. It’ll vary each time you go. They’re very short staffed right now so I don’t blame them, but it’s a shame it’s not as consistent like it used to be.

2019-03-26My all-time favorite donut shop on the Westside. quality is consistent every time I go there. all the donuts look awesome. service is friendly and fast. You can tell people actually care about the work theyre doing to make those doughnuts. When I have new people from out of town, I bring them here or I come and get donuts from here, because I know theyre great and will never disappoint!

2022-01-29These donuts are AMAZING! And the owner is so nice. On our most recent visit he gave us two fresh vanilla glazed donuts to try on top of what we purchased. Nothing not positive experiences here!
