This place was disgusting. Floor in our hallway had dirty towels and laundry just laying in the hallway, pool was also disgusting, cloudy murky water in the tiny pool that the management then shut down because of chemical issues. So overall we will NEVER stay there again. Checked out early.
Came on an unexpectedly high usage weekend: memorial Day. Staff did their best to deal with shortages across the board. We still had a great time despite not being able to get towels for example. Really wish they would reevaluate how often they clean the rooms. Otherwise though the hotel was clean and convenient. Room was nice. The pool was by arrangement only, limit to one per family per hour. I was told this will likely go away soon.Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly despite being overrun.Would still recommend this place.
Beautiful location. Quiet and lovely with Hospitable staff. Beds and comfortable and new. Design of the rooms are great. Love the Moen Shower. Microwave and fridge nicely hidden away. Clean and covid-19 prepared. Did not get to try the breakfast, but heard they have a variety of choices. Will be back...
We had several rooms for a weekend stay. The rooms were gross. The carpets were not properly vacuumed and the surfaces were not properly cleaned (there where food crumbs on the tables and carpet in one room & fake lashes, thread and hair on the floor in another). All the rooms had mold, mildew and soap scum all over the shower heads, walls and doors. We were offered another room, but the bathroom wasn’t that much better and there was a musty smell. We requested a thorough cleaning the next day. The beds were made and the towels changed, but nothing else was touched. Aside from the lack of cleanliness, the rooms were just grimy. The carpets and sofa were stained. The desk lamp, bedside lamp, and bathroom fixtures were rusted. I really don’t understand how this place is so highly rated.
My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. We were very happy with how close we were to the city, we had plans to attend a sporting event. We were very comfortable, the room was clean and neat, staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would stay here again without a doubt.
I would only stay here because of convenience to The Cleveland Clinic in Independence. The room was clean enough . However don’t expect a hot or even luke warm shower and maybe you will get a microwave that doesn’t have a trick door. I was disappointed with water temperature. A Marriott should be better.
Just a heads up to those who may be vulnerable or concerned about COVID protocols - alnost nobody at this hotel wears masks inside. Not the staff and almost none of the other guests. Otherwise, its a nice and newish hotel. We didnt have any issues with noise or cleanliness. We would stay again.
There was a sign about the mask mandate but not one single Marriott employee was following the rules and wearing masks. I guess none of the guests felt compelled to comply with the sign if the employees aren’t following the rules. We felt very uncomfortable. We had kids sleeping on the pullout sofa and it looked like they had forgotten to clean and vacuum under the sofa. We found silverware and trash under the sofa. And we had to ask for a new comforter because the one on the king bed did not seem clean. Overall not at all impressed with this hotel.
The location was so convenient and we appreciated that we were allowed to leave our car on the premises while we explored other areas of Ohio by bike. The included breakfast was above average and the staff who oversaw it obviously took great pride in presentation. Great restaurants nearby!
When we arrived at the hotel, she said then slept in, there was mold in the shower, and here on the bathroom floor. Did not feel clean the entire time we State, so we requested room service several times and the room was never Cleaned. Staff was pretty friendly, and the breakfast was good.
Great location but not as clean as I would expect from a Marriott property during a pandemic! My bath wasn’t clean (especially the toilet), and they also served a Breakfast buffet in the usual and customary way. Everyone was using the same serving spoons! Since I didn’t think that was a wise idea given the spread of the pandemic, I chose to go elsewhere for breakfast.
For travel during COVID, this location was superb. Everything was immaculately clean. The rooms were well laid out.The front desk manager, Jessica, was so kind, friendly and thoughtful. Seldom do we encounter anyone who actually anticipates your needs and addresses them with a helpful smile. The location is good for downtown and hospital area; it took less than 20 minutes even in morning rush hour traffic. There are several dining options nearby.
This was our first trip out of our house in connecticut to cleaveland for a family function. We were scared to book a hotel in this pandemic, but to my surprise, it was a perfect place to stay. Had such an amazing time with my extended family. Staff was courteous to tell us what all things are available and what is not available. Even though it was lil far away from Downtown, but I loved the drive. breakfast free, no parkign charges, cleanliness , safe and nice location. What else can you expect!!
Unfortunately I had a family emergency football hall of fame weekend so the rooms were pricey, but the staff was friendly and nice. Breakfast was ok it was the same everyday. Eggs and sausage which I dont eat either, but the hotel was close to plenty of eating places. We were only 25 minutes to Akron and about 15 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport so the location was great.
First, there are signs posted on the door upon entering that masks should be worn in public places, not one employee was wearing a mask.Second, both my husband and I said the same thing upon entering the room - this isnt a suite. It is a very nice hotel room, but certainly not a suite. I chose Springhill and paid more over other hotels because I thought it would be a suite with more space for my children to run around. The website is wrong, there is no wall separating the sitting area from the beds, only a high backed desk. A wall extends from floor to ceiling. There is no silverware, only plastic cutlery and paper plates. And the fridge and microwave are small and cheap. Also the TV was very weirdly positioned, could be viewed ok from the sofa and very poorly from the beds. An actual suite would have a TV that could be viewed easily in both locations or separate TVs for each. This should not be advertised or charged as a Suite. While the furniture and bedding were nice and mostly clean, some additional maintenance is needed. Third floor ice machine wasnt working. The microwave was cheap and broken, needed to be slammed to function. The handle in the shower was falling off at the top. There was hair left in the shower, and crumbs-dirt in the sofa. The breakfast bar seemed a step up from other hotels so that was one nice feature.
The girl at the front desk was not friendly at all and would hardly put her cell phone down to check me in. She didn’t explain anything to me. We had to change rooms in the middle of the night because our shower drain did not work and our bathroom floor was flooded. They didn’t say even an I’m sorry, much less try to help us get moved, etc... The rooms were very very clean. Everything else was top notch, but coming from the south, I am used to southern hospitality, so when I experienced what I did, I was so disappointed!!
We got to our room fine, check-in was easy and on time. We had 2 small kids and needed extra towels which we were told would be right up but they showed up about.an hour later by then we had just reused towels because we had a schedule to keep. We were given 4 towels in our room to begin with but 2 were stained and we did not use them because although Im sure they had been washed you just never know. Our tv had multiple issues the sound did not work most of the times we tried it. It also turned off multiple times as if there was a short. We also had two very sad kiddos because the pool was closed but with covid still lingering that one was not something I would say was bad as I know it was for the guest safety. The brightest spot in our stay was the breakfast. The lady there helping everyone was so sweet and so caring to all of us, especially our kiddos who had a lot of questions which she answered with all the kindness in the world. She was awesome!
When we got home we realized we had forgotten a couple of items inside the hotel room and called the hotel immediately. They said we needed to call at 9am the following day. We callled at 9am and left a voicemail, and have been calling ever since ( now for 4 days straight), and have obtained no response. We have also tried reaching the hotel manager and have not had any luck. Better not forget anything in the room because they take it home !
Woke up to bite marks on my left hand and left foot. Appeared to be bed bugs. Room is 308, went to the front desk to report and show bites marks to front desk clerk. She took the report and moved me to another room. Requested the manager to give a call to discuss the situation. Never received a call about the complain and dont know if they will even get an exterminator for the room. Be aware!!! Ive always booked at this hotel everytime I traveled to Cleveland. I will not again!
I can only hope that the poor service was due to chronic understaffing. We had to clean our own room (cleaning was promised every three days but on day 3 the housekeeper said she doubted she could get to us), locate our own toilet paper, go down for our sheets, etc. Overall the staff were miserable and the night manager was downright surly and unprofessional. She wore spaghetti strap sundresses on her shift and tucked her phone into her ample bosom, called my husband “hon” and seemed to resent everything we asked her for: sheets, blankets, water. We will do our best never to stay here again.
Not a suite, Nice Hotel, No masksFirst, there are signs posted on the door upon entering that masks should be worn in public places, not one employee was wearing a mask.Second, both my husband and I said the same thing upon entering the room - this isnt a suite. Perfect location. Easy to travel to sightseeing locations. Restaurants, movie theaters and grocery stores are close by. I like to walk and there was a nice circular path right across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again if I was going to Cleveland.
Our family purchased 3 rooms. 2 of which weren’t up to par at all. We couldn’t change rooms bc apparently they were completely booked. Kids couldn’t swim bc the milky looking pool smelled like hot garbage. The hotel didn’t offer any resolve when we checked in or any when we checked out. Basically we had to deal with it or leave and lose our money.
Nice hotel, but if you catch the wrong worker, watch out! Shower drain flooded the room and never got fixed. Rude older lady at the front desk. Repairman on a scaffolding outside our room window at 730am on a Saturday morning staring in at my naked wife. Rude woman didn’t care at all. Avoid.
We checked in our first room was NOT clean, the beds were stripped the dirty blankets were laying on the floor bed was not made. They put us in a new room that room was absolutely HORRIBLE ! There was marijuana in the room, used Kleenex on the air conditioner, dirty socks on the floor, toenail or fingernail clippings under the ottoman we showed them pics of everything nothing was done. Our 3rd night there our shower overflowed they moved us again this room was a little cleaner. When you pay this much for a room you expect it to be clean!! The breakfast was disgusting!! The 1st lady that checked us in was very nice and knew what she was doing the other few days the same lady was there she had absolutely no clue what she was doing!! I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!
Although the Lobby looked great the rooms were not kept to the best of standards as advertised. Everything from stained walls to dirty shower stall to unclean toilets. Sheets had blood stains in them and the desktop had fruit punch stains as well on them. The bathroom door was almost impossible to open as well… had to dang near pull it off the wall just to open it.
We arrived late and were met by a friendly courteous staff who checked us in quickly. We got to our room to find a problem with the bathroom door. The front desk could.not fix it since it was midnight. They continued in their professional handling of the situation. Refreshing to have their respectable demeanor.
Considering the Covid-19 crisis, this place was excellent! The fresh clean smell is what sold us from the time we walked in. Then the customer service followed by the cleanliness of the rooms topped it off for an overall great stay! The Pelaton bike in the fitness room was also a great bonus.
When we arrived for a three night stay, we found the bathroom was not properly cleaned…two minimal TP rolls with no extras, no shower mat, no trash liners…area around toilet slightly soiled…not all towels present..no toiletries We picked up TP in the lobby that night. When leaving the next day, there was housekeeping staff a few doors away that saw that we were leaving the room, about 10 Am…we asked to be sure that they cleaned the room. Returned at 10PM, and room was not touched…had to go to lobby again for towels…Same thing happened the next day…even called the front desk to be sure they cleaned the room that day.Returned and nothing was done, about 4PM…housekeeping was on our hall cleaning the rooms across from us, so we asked if they would clean ours next, and they said no, they were cleaning “vacant” rooms right now…another call down to the desk, and a manager, I think, came up, apologized and cleaned our room…
Our stay was fine, however we were there with a couple other families whos reservations got canceled very late into the day. They didnt find out they had to find a new hotel until 7:30 or later. My friend who is a single mom was left to find a room going from hotel to hotel until 9:00. Their compensation was. A few members points and she wasnt even a member.... completely unacceptable. Also she was at the hotel at 12 for an early check in and given a message at 2 that her room was ready but she wasnt able to check in at that time because of a back to back basketball games 40 minutes from the hotel... so where her ready room went is still a mystery.
My two teens and I spent the night in Cleveland heading south. When we got to the hotel at 9:30, the staff said, “Hello, we’ve been expecting you!” It was such a nice greeting! The hotel looked brand new. Everything was so clean and the room spacious. I highly recommend this hotel.
I checked in at 4pm my room was still being cleaned had to stand in hallway. Got in my room no remote had to go to front desk no one working but front desk. Got relaxed and sheets were dirty no housekeeper had to move to new room got to my new room cable was broken. Horrible service I checked out at midnight
Hotel has a nice clean modern design. This is my second time at this hotel. First time was in 2018 and everything about the hotel was excellent. This time the housekeeping seemed to be lacking. Our hallway was dirty with garbage all throughout. I had to go tell the front desk and they sent housekeeping to clean it, which they did but it could’ve been better. The room was nice but had dust on the air conditioner/heater vents, no facial tissue in the room and no garbage can in the bathroom. Bed are average in comfort. The breakfast was very good.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a lady at the front desk who was very rude and did not know how to check me into a room I had already paid for. She didnt seem fit to be the first person guests saw at the hotel. When I finally got into my room, it was dirty and unkept. There was food all over the floor, big rid stains on the tables & carpet and the bed was uncomfortable. I also think I saw a bug scatter across the room at nighttime. The shower drain was clogged with hair and the sink was not cleaned; neither was the toilet. I was disappointed and will not be returning.
Firstly, staff were great! Thank you. That is where the stars come from. This is more a review about the artificial, sanitized, prison-like atmosphere that the building/fixtures evoke. The lights in the place... why so much blue/white light? I felt almost dazed by the artificial frequencies and colors. Also, why so many lights in the room that I cant turn off?? Blinking smoke alarm, glowing switches, nightlights, and not to mention the curtains dont do a very good job with the parking lot lights (which are a better color than the room lights). My throat hurts right now just thinking about the smell and deadness of the air. I dont mind dry air.. but I can literally taste the poisonous chemicals being used fervently to clean things. Im not okay with that and I would never bring a child in there.I stopped traveling for work because everywhere is the same artificial, dead, and ominously prison-like atmospheres. I wont be part of that world.
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Very clean. Easy check in. Polite and attentive staff. Rooms were nice and modern. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the morning staff made sure all needs were met in regards to breakfast. The pool was small in size but accommodating as well as the whirlpool. Great experience at this hotel. Will use again if I come to Cleveland/Independence again!
Great experience with my family of 4 at this hotel. Got the room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for everyone. The sofa bed actually had a pull out bed in the bottom like a trundle bed, yet the sofa itself was big enough for one person to sleep on, so this room could be said to have 4 beds. The shower had plenty of hot water and pressure - felt great. Even though we were near the elevator there was no noticeable noise through the night. The breakfast was good and plentiful with options like cereal, oatmeal, breads, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit and waffles. The caramel syrup for the coffee was a nice touch. We did have to ask for more towels for the room, even though I had requested them when I booked the room, but that was the only tiny issue. Would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is itself is beautiful and well-designed. My family had a first floor room very close to the front desk and despite a lot of noise on the outside of the room, you couldnt hear a peep inside the room--great soundproofing! The bathroom was beautiful. That is the good. The bad was that it is clear that management hasnt yet figured out how to manage it. All of the employees were very apologetic, but we experienced several problems during our stay due to employee and/or process error. First, when my family arrived at ~10pm Friday night, I had to wait over 30 mins to check in due to a large group ahead of me. Its fair that the large group was taken care of first as they arrived before me, but there was an error made with their reservation that was taking a lot of time. It also took most of the 30 mins I was waiting to even be acknowledged and I was only helped after one of the members of the group asked the staff member to take care of me before continuing with them. To be clear--I dont fault the front desk staff person--it was clear she had a mess to sort out. However, there had to be another employee somewhere that could have been called in to help (I know a manager was present somewhere as the staff member said that she was going to ask her manager to credit me some extra Marriott points for my inconvenience which never happened). The second problem was that we were supposed to have been placed in a room next to our friends who were also staying at the property. After we got our room keys, I saw that we could not have been placed farther apart. We were on the first floor on one side of the hotel and our friends were on the 4th floor on the other side of the hotel. At 10:30ish on Friday night with two toddlers up way past their bedtime I didnt dare argue about finally having a room, but the location of our room was disappointing. Finally, our room did not even get serviced on the Saturday of our stay (we stayed Friday-Sunday) despite my wife explicitly going to the front desk around 3pm to ask since it had not been serviced yet. We were then told they were running behind and it would be done in 30 mins. When we got back 4 hours later it still wasnt done. For these reasons I would not recommend this hotel to anyone which is a shame, because it is has the potential to be a great hotel.
This hotel has always been my go to hotel for when I’m traveling in the Ohio area. The room is clean no complaints there. The safe is great especially the crew for the breakfast area. However, bathroom cleanliness is everything for me. It seems like it keeps getting worse every time I stay there. This time there was hair in the stall and some yellow liquid near some rust stains. And the molding around the toilet was super dusty. The bathroom up keep is not great :/ wish that would get better. Other than that, this place is great.
The hotel is nice. Check in was easy. With it being covid it was not too much open within the hotel to do. I brought a new sweat shirt and leggings and I left it at the hotel. I called hours after checking out to retrieve my left items and was advised they had not seen them. --Disappointing
The Springhill Suites Cleveland Independence was a great choice for us! We stayed in a King room for two nights. The bed was extremely comfortable with good support, and pillows were also very nice. Everything in our room was clean and very fresh smelling! Huge walk-in shower - bathroom was very bright, functional and clean upon arrival. Nice size flatscreen television that you could adjust to see from the sofa or leave flat against the wall to see from the bed. Internet in our room was easily accessible on our devices and offered a fast speed. We enjoyed two mornings with the complimentary breakfast - the food was hot, fresh, and plenty to choose from including fresh fruit, yogurts, cold and hot cereals, eggs, sausage, assorted baked goods and breads to toast, and a waffle station. Coffee was always available and hot in the lobby/breakfast area as well as the personal size Keurig in our room. Great place for families, couples, business travelers, etc.We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
Front desk staff seemed bothered by our being there. Very dismissive - head down or in back office most of the time. Not wearing masks.Had to ask for directions at least twice to get an understandable answer. When asked where the elevators were - just got a finger pointed and over there.
The Staff at check in was great, however upon arriving in our room it smelled so much like perfume it gave me a headache and I could taste it on my tongue. I was convinced it had to be a plug in air freshener as the smell never went away or even dissipated. I searched but never located where the smell was coming from. Also found dirty socks in the couch along with a couple ponytail holders. It was my understanding that a higher level of cleanliness was to be expected with Marriott and during covid. The pool was closed and that was a huge disappointment as we were traveling with my grandson and would have chosen somewhere different to stay, and not use my points, had it had said so, anywhere on the website when making our reservation, as other hotels in the area have pools open. We are Bonvoy members and stay at Marriotts all over the country and have always enjoyed our stays. not this time.
Very nice, clean, and modern hotel. I read all the reviews before I booked this hotel. Some of the reviews said a few negatives, but they were for petty things. The back door is a little narrow but completely fine. The rooms had a slight new carpet smell, but not overwhelming at all. The breakfast was good (for hotel food). The only negative I could say, is the person working the breakfast area wasnt the most attentive to the job. Generally I dont enjoy staying at hotels (Im kind of a germaphobic person). The first thing I do is search for bugs. I was very comfortable staying here.
We had a great stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was a nice size and the controls easy to operate. The showerhead provided a comfortable flow of water. Breakfast was good.I will definitely look for SpringHill Suites for future travels.
We came up to Cleveland for the Cavs game and stayed in this hotel. Although the room was beautiful that was about the only good thing about this place. The front desk receptionist was terribly rude when we checked in, not friendly or inviting at all. Then we later found out our room didnt have a remote for the TV. We called the front desk to get a remote and we were told “all the remotes are locked in the managers office”. The front desk receptionist told us we could turn on the tv, scan a code and use our phone as a remote. Well go figure the TV wouldnt turn on. However thats not why I’m giving this hotel 1 star. About 5:30 am we woke up to something burning. We thought it was our furnace or something so we went out to the front, to let someone know, only to find out a bush outside caught fire. The fumes were so strong and due to me being pregnant we had to check out and head back home around 6 am. We couldnt even formally check out because the ONLY front desk receptionist was trying to handle the fire. This completely ruined our plans for the day. When we stepped outside, we could barely breathe from all the smoke. I would NEVER stay here after this.
Clean and beautiful hotel. We stayed in a King bedroom suite a week ago for two nights - very comfortable mattress, bathroom was well-lit and spotless, room and hallways smelled so fresh and clean! Typical breakfast you would expect (a few hot items, plenty of variety to pick from) and the coffee was good. Staff at front desk pleasant and friendly. Nice location across from a green space and nicely landscaped. Restaurants you can walk to across the parking lot. Would stay here again anytime!
Doors are right next to each other and close extremely loudly, which makes it difficult to focus or sleep. Further, we discovered in the morning that the shower did not drain, which flooded the bathroom. The carpet was also quite dirty (old gum spots, red staining, etc.). Just not worth the price tag - or even half of it.
I have stayed at other hotels in the Rockside Rd area when in town and they tend to provide better options and service, even during the time of a pandemic. Mediocre breakfast buffet, poor response to requests for minimal housekeeping services. Plenty of other options in the area.
The room was nicely appointed, with comfortable beds, clean linens, and clean towels. Our stay was quiet and suitably restful. The continental breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and well-maintained. The service desk personnel were very nice and pleasant, as well as prompt and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
We had a very nice stay. The rooms are modern, spacious, and comfortable. We came for a family wedding, where most of our family stayed. The lobby is well equipped to handle a large gathering. Breakfast was pretty standard, satisfying, but nothing amazing. The beds are very comfortable, and house keeping does a fine job. Our room had a Keurig, microwave, and fridge which were all useful. Very short drive down to Cleveland too. If I see one of these near another city that I’m visiting I will definitely consider staying at a SpringHill!
SpringHill Suites exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate all our needs. The room was very comfortable. It had 2 queen beds, sofa bed, walk-in closet, spacious bathroom, coffee machine, mini fridge and even a microwave. We would definitely consider SpringHill Suites as our top choice when traveling again!
Enjoyed all the amenities and found everything we needed at our stay. The rooms, lobby and breakfast area were clean and stylish in a streamlined way. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I have rarely found a hotel so meticulously maintained. The breakfast was one of the most complete I have seen in an American hotel where breakfast is included. My little nieces and nephew enjoyed the pool, and I loved that I didnt need to re-log in to the wifi every time I used it. Overall a very nice stay, and I would recommend Springhill Suites based on this experience. Also the bar in the lobby is a nice addition, and the little snack bar saved us when we arrived. Again, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Great job!
When we first arrived they wouldnt let us in saying the hotel was completely booked up even thought we had made reservations a week before. when they finally let us in the check to see if we had a reservation (which we did) they gave us a room which was dirty the sheets and couch had stains on them and the refrigerator didnt work at all
Excellent location! Walking distance to my favorite restaurant, Melt! Good location right off the highway but not noisy at all. Nice size rooms with large sofa and pull out bed, very good use of room space, no space wasted. Nice size bathroom with full shower. The pool area is not huge, but nice warm water and the jacuzzi was very nice. Breakfast was perfect for us, it had warm items, cold items, fruit, and plenty of juice and coffee. Perfect location for our bike ride! Only about 5 mins from the beginning of the trail.
This hotel was very clean. The furniture and carpeting was beautiful. The shower was big and lovely. The fitness room and pool were perfect temperatures and the whirlpool there was a nice bonus. The receptionist was kind, cheerful and accommodating. The breakfast was great. If I could stay at this hotel in every city Id be very very happy!!!!
One of the best hotel rooms we’ve stayed in as a family! Clean, modern, functional, HUGE. Shared 2 queens & teenager took the comfy couch. Wouldn’t change anything. Breakfast is busy as expected but lots of seating. Didn’t use pool- looks tiny. Fitness room is nice- fridge is full of cold water bottles. Will stay here again!
Clean, large room. It was nice to have a separate sitting area. We actually had to get a little work done so the desk was big enough to accommodate. Nice to have a couch instead of just a couple uncomfortable chairs. The bed was comfortable/firm. Large bathroom, though it would have been nice to have an exhaust fan and door to separate the toilet (you know why). Staff are efficient and friendly. Breakfast is the standard hotel style - a couple of hot, precooked items and make-your-own waffles, plus breads and yogurt. Hotel shares a parking lot with Outback & Bonefish Grill. We were surprised (saddened?) at how busy these were on a Saturday night. Pretty much only chain restaurants around there. The Winking Lizard seems close, but its actually a bit of a walk & uphill. It was snowing the entire time we were there and we were surprised that at the side entrance we used no one was shoveling/treating for ice.The pool/hot tub are reasonably clean, though they kept running out of towels.Overall, would stay again.
The room was clean and hotel nice overall but the suite I purchased was misleading. I purchased a king size suite but when we arrived it was actually a queen size bed. When I questioned the front desk, the woman informed me that “that’s our version of a king size bed.” My husband and I have travel all over the world and have NEVER seen a king size bed that small. To think that you’re paying for one thing and to be given something totally different is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND VERY MISLEADING! So, I decided to measure “their version of a king size bed” and it measured at 64 inches wide. A standard king size is 76 inches in width and a California king measures at 72 inches. My husband and I are fairly small people so, it was very disappointing not be able to roll over and have the space we’re accustom to when we travel. So buyer beware, king size is actually a queen!
Lovely room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, and a great selection for breakfast.Only complaint is that the pool was way over- chlorinated, to the point that your eyes burned after being in the pool room for a few minutes.Besides the sub-par pool experience Id stay again and recommend to everyone.
This hotel is so beautifully decorated and nicely appointed. The rooms are so spacious and the beds are very comfortable. We are a family of 5 and really appreciated the separate work/desk area and sofa bed. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety - eggs, sausages, make your own waffles, assortment of breakfast breads and muffins, yogurts, cereals, oatmeal and and fresh fruit. The kids enjoyed the pool, and I enjoyed the hot tub (which wasnt scalding like most hotel hot tubs)
Staffs were very courteous and professional. Hotel very neat inside out, flanked right by the parkway and yet quiet and affordable. However, the room where my wife and I stayed ( Room #230) had some issues that need immediate attention. We have to call front desk more than once with regard to issues pertaining to the functionality of the mini fridge, microwave and hot air coming out of the compartment inhabiting these two items mentioned.
Great hotel located near a major highway and 15-20 minutes to airport, city and ballpark. Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were the newer design for this brand. Property was well maintained. Outback and Bonefish Grill within walking distance. Shuttle available for local rides and airport drop-off/pickup. Overall a very pleasant experience.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We were very happy the hotel offered a complementary breakfast every morning. The room was clean and nicely updated. The staff was friendly and it was nice they offered what floor we would like to stay on when we checked in. We chose the 4th (top) floor because it’s nice not having to listen to people above you which can get really annoying at hotels. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
We came for a weekend getaway with 3 other couples and will definitely go back. The hotel is relatively new with a modern design. It was very clean and the hotel has an exceptional staff. Every staff member was friendly, courteous, and went above and beyond their duties.
When we stayed we were told that the hotel was only 1 month old. Everything was perfect as expected. The rooms are ultra modern. We had five adults and were very comfortable. We actually had a walk-in closet with a lightswitch so we were able to change clothes as needed without needing to use the bathroom. The bathroom entrance is at the center of the room which is unlike anything weve ever seen. It wasnt a problem-just different. We went to an Indians ball game in the evening and our adult children flew out of the Cleveland Hopkins airport the next day. This hotel worked well for us as it was centrally located between the two. Airport shuttle wasnt operating at 4:45 am when we needed it for one of our children (it starts at 6:30 we were told) but that was ok. Breakfast was fine-we all had plenty to eat and what we had was good. We felt we paid a fair price for being able to have 5 adults in one beautiful room. Would definitely stay here again if the need arose.
I stayed for one night. The hotel is easily accessible from the freeway and there are dining options nearby (Bonefish Grill). Catrina was the front desk customer service agent. She was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were cleaned, fresh and I enjoyed the layout. It is a newer property and well maintained.
Ive stayed here often this year and have never had a bad experience. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean and the internet has always been good at streaming movies if I chose to watch them. Breakfast has a good variety and is free. They have a bar here as well as food options so its always a good choice for dinner and a night cap when youve had a long day (or the Bonefish/Outback next door). If I am traveling in the area, this is where I always stay.
We stayed here when we attended a Cleveland Indians game. This hotel is great overall and we will stay here again for sure! The complimentary breakfast buffet has a wonderful selection. Beds are comfortable! I only wish our suite was on the top floor (I just love being on the very top floor). Staff is friendly. The location is ideal when attending a game because its got all kinds of restaurants around it and its not far from the stadium (12 miles). We will be back for future games! The bad:- Bathroom door was a barn-type sliding door with no lock- Pool area is small and the heavy chlorine smell was too much for such a small space- Fitness center is nice but had little kids playing in it after they were done with the pool from across the way
This is still looking new. Very comfortable. Usually very quiet even if full. The beds are nice, pretty firm but goid bedding. Staff is accommodating, breakfast is reliable if not super interesting. Maybe a little heavy on the tvs in breakfast/lobby area. Small bar and patio are good for relaxing. Local shuttle is handy because its not really walkable. There are three ir four chain restaurants right there though.
Booked this stay last minute due to the blizzard in NE Ohio. I had my family with me and we found the hotel to be beautiful and welcoming. Only thing bad I can say is that our daughter had to sleep on the sofa bed and it was not very comfortable. Otherwise this hotel is new and beautifully maintained. Nice breakfast and easy check-in / check-out.
Overall our stay at the Cleveland Springhill Suites was above expectations. We loved the size of the room and although there were only two of us in the room it could accommodate 4 persons quite easily. There were some small matters in the room that needed minor adjustments ie the bathroom slider needed relocating onto its lower brackets and the bathroom shower panel needed replying into place but otherwise the bathroom facilities were excellent. We were part of a large group and the staff especially at breakfast had everything organised to cater for the group. We used the pool area a couple of times and the jacuzzi was very good. It’s location was ideal for a bit of shopping and accessing downtown Cleveland, although a car was necessary. The rest of the staff were very polite and helpful. We stayed for 7 nights and would recommend this hotel.
This is a great hotel that looks, feels and smells new. The staff is outstanding and go above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant stay. I stayed for one week on business and the staff were happy to provide shuttle service to and from the office, and anywhere else close by.
This is a wonderful hotel that is only one year old. Everything is fresh and clean and neat as a pin! The breakfast was wonderful! It was more like a brunch, as there were so many options! The decor is very modern and attractive. We did use the fitness center as well and it was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!
I stayed there with my family for just one night. We were looking for a nice place with a pool to rest our heads before I flew out in the morning and my family drove home to another state. Trey at the front desk was wonderful, especially as the republican convention had just ended and many of those guests still had yet to check out. You couldnt tell from his attitude how busy the previous week must have been for them. The whole property looks shiny and new. While the pool is on the small side (and the hot tub as well) it makes up for that with the decor, and the neatly rolled towels on every seat were a nice touch. Overall the stay was nice, I liked the more unique layout of the room versus other suites I have stayed in in the past.It was obvious the property was new based only on the immaculate condition of the property, not by any hiccups in service that can sometimes be experiences as a new property gets used to its groove.
Stayed here overnight due to a power outage at my house during the winter. I think suite is questionable for the rooms. The room was very nice and the bathroom was beautiful but I wouldnt exactly call it a suite. The room was kind of small with a couch, desk, and bed all close together and the bathroom just at the bottom of the bed. For a night it worked fine for me and my toddler, and we certainly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the morning.
Husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. It has just opened 5 months ago so everything was in tip top shape. Suite was roomy with nice bathroom, comfortable bed and a Keurig k cup coffee maker and mini fridge with microwave also. Very large television and hotel was very quiet. The complimentary breakfast was better than most other hotels also. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The room was perfect and everything was brand new. There was so much space in my room. Plenty of room to relax in the living room and a great workspace to get some things done at. The bathroom had a nice flow to it. And the gym was one of the nicest Ive seen recently. Really great place. Absolutely would stay here again!
1) Check in : While the room keys were given ASAP, no details were explained. Had to specifically ask about breakfast , internet etc.2) Room Cleanliness : It seemed clean as i entered. However when i dropped my keys, i realized the shoddy job! There was food leftovers ( probably from previous occupants) below the AC unit . 3) Washroom Amenities : The room had 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed as well. ( So clearly it could accommodate 4 adults!). We were 4 adults and 2 small kids. Yet there were just 2 batch towels given!4) Washroom Door : The non lockable door was a risk! The handle was close to the wall and 2 guests actually had their fingers snap between the wall and the door!5) Common Restroom : It was stinking!!! On being reported, i was told i could use other restroom! Clearly the worst experience at a Marriott!
My recent stay at the SpringHill Suites Hotel was a outstanding! The hotel was clean, and had a wonderful aroma. The rooms were spacious and had a sleek design. The free continental breakfast was better than most Marriots and the service was excellent too! I would highly recommend this hotel to all of my family and friends!
Our wedding night was ruined because of the horrible service we were provided, I will never stay here again. Me and my wife were given a room with a giant red stain on the carpet and a broken door to the bathroom. When the broken door trapped someone in the bathroom, we were met with a horrific attitude from the front desk. No urgency to help and showed zero interest in resolving the situation. I could not be more appalled with our interaction with their staff. Unbelievably disrespectful. If the rooms are up to “Covid standards” why was it not noticed during the cleaning that the door was completely inoperable and a safety hazard?Needless to say we left in the middle of the night and did not stay.
I was very impressed with this hotel location, cleanliness, breakfast and great customer service. This hotel is moderate and beautiful inside and out. During my stay, I experience a minor incident with the sofa in my suite and the housekeeping management was very accommodating. Overall, the incident will deter me from visiting this hotel again. This will be my 1st choice the next time I visit Cleveland!
My husband and I stayed at the Cleveland Independence SpringHill Suites while visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The staff are really customer service focused and friendly. The room was modern and quite clean. It was wonderful having a microwave and refrigerator in the room since I have dietary restrictions. I was able to prepare my breakfast in my room which was wonderful. At the same time, my husband was happy to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast so both our needs were satisfied.
Fantastic stay! Lovely and comfortable room. Very clean and beautifully designed. Staff were all friendly, kind, and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was a good variety: oatmeal/cereals, waffles/breads/bagels, fluffy scrambled eggs, turkey sausage patties, yogurts un fridges beneath fresh fruit, and hot coffee/tea/juices. Short drive to shopping and downtown. Would recommend to anyone coming to Cleveland
I have stayed here many times and Im always very comfortable. The king rooms Ive stayed in have refrigerators and large desk area for work. Internet is stable and decent for streaming. Free breakfast downstairs each morning and a cafe and bar for food and drinks at night. Theres even an outdoor fire ring for sipping a drink outside on warm nights. The staff has always been friendly and helpful on check in. Ill be back next month!
The hotel is very new and well maintained. The decor is up to date and modern. The location is good everything you need is close to hotel. If you are being seen at Cleveland Clinic its about a 20 minute commute. The only thing I wish they had would be a shuttle to Clinic. They do have shuttle to airport. On the plus side they give a Cleveland Clinic discount on room, which is greatly appreciated! The staff is friendly and accomodating. The room was beautiful and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job. Breakfast staff also did a great job. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again!
Hotel was brand new, and located in a great location to get to all major attractions in the Cleveland area in a short time. Also extremely close to many places to dine. Was convenient having the free breakfast in the morning, but the eggs were not edible. Pool and hot tub were a bit small, but still in working order. Our suite was spacious, the beds and couch were a bit hard, wouldnt say they were all that comfortable but room was very clean. Loved having a small fridge and microwave also. Had a major problem with the drain in our bathroom shower, which ended in a flooded floor. Didnt report it, since my husband managed to get it open to drain the water. But it was a very unpleasant experience. Other than the drain, hard bed and breakfast eggs I would say that the hotel is worth the money that we paid to stay there.
SpringHill Indepence was one of the best hotel experience and the value made it more amazing. Very pleasant, helpful staff that went beyond normal service. When mentioned we would need to leave early then breakfast at 7am on Sunday the front desk offered to have something out by 6am. Much appreciated and food service lady was extremely nice in the morning. In the morning the hotel shuttle took my wife to the finish line of my race free of charge about 10min away. Good location and easy ride into downtown Cleveland. Rooms were excellent and plenty of room. Would highly recommend the hotel to anyone traveling.
Wonderful new hotel in Cleveland! This is a great new hotel in the suburbs of Cleveland. It is immaculate from head to toe and Ive never had a more accommodating Staff. They go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. All you have to do is ask. A very nice bar right off the lobby and around the corner from the pool and connected to the outside seating area. There are several very nice restaurants within walking distance and even more a short drive away. The hotel rooms are absolutely immaculate as is the entire hotel. I would highly recommend a stay here if you want a relaxing trip. The hotel is right on the highway which makes it extremely convenient to anything you want to do. However, the windows are so airtight that you totally dont even know the highway is near you. When we checked out my daughter and I both looked at each other in the car and said we want to come back and stay again and we will. Thank you for a great stay!!
What a pleasant experience! Hotel is new and everything is bright, inviting and clean. Room lighting is great, and subtle decor is very nice. Right across is Bob Evans restaurant we had a lunch and a dinner there, food was outstanding for a chain. We ate breakfast at the hotel and the waffles and sausage and fruit were excellent Everyone of the staff were pleasant and ready to assist if we needed anything.
Beautiful location, view, and rooms. Astounded by the quality and comfort of the room and facilities as a whole. Staff has been incredibly friendly. Convenient location. Great use of rewards points! Will definitely be keeping this hotel o in mind for future visits to Cleveland!
We were visiting friends in Cleveland area and they recommended this hotel. We were not disappointed. Check in and check out was great and room was very nice and clean. If I had to do business work there, Id be disappointed in the office chair. It is a horrible chair for work and not at all comfortable. Fortunately, this was a leisure trip and we enjoyed our stay completely.
The hotel is new and has some really fantastic design elements. The breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The price was a little higher than I would have liked and I didnt her the room type I really wanted but overall, it worked out just fine.
This hotel is comfortable, clean and the location is good if you have a car. Not far from Downtown and traffic in Cleveland is very smooth. Only issue we had was with housekeeping that forgot to clean our room and the staff member in charge didn’t solve it, he just gave us fresh towels after we had to ask. His answer was pretty weak, like a mere: ‘Huh, OK Sir’. Not even apologetic or anything. Otherwise, positive experience.
I checked in for a night due to power outages and was helped courteously even though I didn’t have a reservation. There was a teen birthday party going on in the lobby when I checked in at 8pm which was fine. I got a king bed room on the third floor near the elevator. I was worried it might be noisy but it wasn’t. The room was nice but small considering they’re called suites. I would have expected to at least have a separate bedroom and living area. It was a little oddly laid out with the bed facing the bathroom and the TV off to the side but it was fine for a night. The breakfast in the morning was nice with a mix of hot and cold items.
A very nice place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and the place still had the new smell to it. The only thing that was completely awful was the breakfast!!!!!!!! My husband and I are not picky eaters and both love any kind of eggs but these eggs were awful had the texture of sand and didnt even taste like eggs. Sausage was cold. WHOLE breakfast horrible. Step it up with your breakfast Springhill we pay enough to stay there.
This summer our family decided to take a last minute vacation. We stayed in many Springhill Suites. This hotel is by far one of the best ones. From the minute you walk in you feel like you have entered something really nice. Staff, rooms and facilities will be what you would expect from a high end hotel. Once in our room it was clean and relaxing. If I return to the area I will want to stay there. And of coarse you have their breakfast in the morning
This hotel stay was one for the books. Marriott does an excellent job combining both business and comfort in a hotel. Stylishly put together and excellent use of space to make sure that there is enough room for everything, whether business, pleasure, or both. Would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. Crazy clean and fantastic breakfast made this a definite thumbs up. Would stay here again.
Wonderful staff, great place to stay for business travelers or families, and great location. Has a pool, fitness center, two board rooms, a firpit patio, a bar, an interactive screen in the lobby, a laundry room, and so much more. Rooms have a great setup with a mini fridge and microwave.
I have stayed in many different hotels with various but usually common layouts. This stay was unique in how efficient and new was the room layout. The entry did not open into a bathroom door as is usual, but rather opened into a small alcove with the sitting area to the left. Sitting area and sleeping area separated by an opaque divider with bath to the site of the sleeping area. There was very little floor space, no wasted space. If you are looking to bring boatloads of luggage look somewhere else. But, if you are looking for a space that is efficient, economical while providing a surprising sense of privacy, Stay Here. The staff is very welcoming and accomodating.
This hotel is tucked back off the road, yet close to convenient restaurants and other services. Even though you can see the highway you can not hear it from the rooms. My family stayed here while doing business in Cleveland. There was ample parking and had excellent clean rooms.
This hotel just opened in June of 2016 and it is very modern and nice. There is free hot breakfast with eggs, sausage and oatmeal plus normal continental breakfast items. They had trouble keeping everything stocked but staff members were available to replenish items. I did not use the indoor pool or fitness center but both are available and small but clean. The rooms also had a mini fridge, microwave and mini Keurig machine. I really only had one complaint; the bathroom door did not have a lock. Its not a huge issue for most people, but we were traveling with extended family so it would have been nice to have.
I am a Titanium Elite member with almost 110 nights as of August 1st. I waited 15min and 49 seconds for someone to up at the front desk to check me in. I called the hotel multiple times with no answer. I called the 800 Marriott number and they did not help the first time. The lady finally showed up and was very annoyed that I found the situation an issue. No apology, no recognition of my status and no words, just put the key on the desk and turned around. The property is very nice, but this particular staff member needs re-training. I was given a sorry bonus, but this should never have happened.
We stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to Cuyahoga scenic railroad rockway station, perfect location. Lots of nearby restaurants. We hoped to use the pool, but it was way too loud on a Saturday night. My 3 year old walked into the pool area excited, but it was too loud. Small and crowded pool, Id choose a different hotel next time if were looking for a pool on a weekend.Otherwise decent hotel, decent pull out, decent breakfast, and friendly staff.
I liked everything about my stay in your beautiful hotel. One thing, though, is we were not sure how to tip. Other hotels give us the same maid and we would give her a good tip at the end of our stay, but, since we had different maids every day in your hotel we didnt know how to tip. We didnt want to give one person the tips for our entire stay. If we had known they would be different every day, we would have left a tip for each one every day.
Thank you to the amazing staff at the Springhill Suites, Cleveland Independence. Everyone was friendly and helpful to our large group that included 50 hungry college swimmers. They handled the whole team coming down at once and provided a hot and nutritious breakfast. Rooms were large and nice and clean.
The Springhill Suites in Independence, Ohio is a very chic and decorative hotel. Our overall experience was great from the check in and stepping into our beautiful suite to the checkout. Our Double Queen suite was very spacious and modern in style. It was surprisingly unique in design. We enjoyed our stay, and the at home feeling of comfort and relaxation. I highly recommend this hotel, and I will be staying here again.
We were highly impressed with the SpringHill Suites on all levels. The staff is very friendly, with a focus on service. The lobby, breakfast area , and outdoor seating areas are just wonderful for gatherings. The breakfast buffet had an awesome variety and was well stocked. The waffle irons are very popular.I love the stylish decor and color scheme. The rooms are comfortable, with an extra little seating area and desk. This hotel is just right down the street from the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad Station and the National Park. It is a primo location, with access to great restaurants and to the highway. Its a quick drive into Cleveland. Great for families, couples, and business!
As expected, this Marriott location exceeded all expectations with our late arrival after a long days Dr with the family.Breakfast was more than we had expected, and had a huge variety for our kids and us for both days we stayed for breakfast. Even with the huge crowd of college kids getting ready to leave on tour bus, the Marriott staff had more than enough food to accommodate everyone at breakfast. The room was great, and the additional accommodations were great as well, with the only exception that the swimming pool can always be bigger (that is coming from a father of two kids who always check out the status of the pool first).
First experience at a millennial hotel. Nice compromise, but a bit awkward since the suite is just one big room and there are no locks on the bathroom door (barn door where you can see in). Cheap furniture, but comfortable. Love the trundle, rather than the typical pull out. Good continental breakfast.
The property was top notch. The staff friendly with great attitudes! The fitness center was the best I have seen in a long time. The room was beautiful and very accommodating.I would highly recommend this property to my business partners when travelling the Cleveland Market.
Stayed at the hotel while in town for business. Great location, close to the express way, and plenty of nearby restaurants, including an Outback Steakhouse, and a Bonefish Grill, right next door. The room itself was nice and clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Very friendly staff, including the bartender. Will most likely stay here again next time I am in town for business.
SpringHill Suites in Independence is always a pleasant experience for business use. With ample wireless access and good sized rooms to complete corporate meetings and training, they have always accommodated our needs. Although I have never actually stayed at this location, I have stayed at other Marriott suites, and have never had a bad overnight stay at any one. Very recommended.
Our soccer team stayed two nights for a tournament. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We would have missed their complimentary breakfast due to early games both mornings, but they served breakfast an extra hour so our families would be able to eat. They cleaned up after our Saturday night team dinner in the lobby, even though I tried to, they offered & took care of everything.
Poor room maintenance, didnt clean bathrooms when they did clean the room, Rude desk staff if you had an issue. treated poorly as i checked out, (we already have your money) no shuttle service to Airport for an 9:30 am flight on a Monday !!!!Ran out of bacon for the week for breakfast on wednesday. apparently no bacon at the store??? ran out of coffee by 10:00 am regularly, ran out of waffle recipe at 9:30 am not wanting to put out more. Bar/lounge closed 90% of the time. Brutal services for the price. crappy location for restaurants.
While the hotel was very attractive, it wasnt designed for multiple room occupants. The bathroom doors slide (loudly), which isnt very convenient if you are up in the middle of the night to do business and dont want to wake up anyone else. Also the doors are translucent, so if you turn on the bathroom light with the door shut, it shines into the room. The beds were very comfortable and the room temperature great (which is hard to find in a hotel). The noise was unreasonably loud. There is an outdoor fire pit where people were playing loud music and shouting until at least 1 am. We asked the front desk to let them know it was disturbing, but there was no change. Considering this was a stop during a 2 day drive, we didnt get a good nights rest at all. We even had a white noise app going on our phone to try to drown it out and the noise was louder than that. Im not easily irritated by noise, but this was beyond inconsiderate. It was frustrating that the hotel staff did nothing about it. We were on the second floor on the same side as the fireplace, so if you want to sleep, perhaps request a room on the other side of the hotel. Maybe that would be better.
Rachael made our stay so amazing! She was very friendly and helpful when we checked in around midnight after a long drive from our wedding. She knew we were going to be in a rush first thing in the morning, so she had breakfast ready to go before we had to leave in the morning, and also helped make a to-go bundle when we had to catch the shuttle! She was amazing!!
Stayed here August 17th and 18th. I couldnt have had a better stay. The girls at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was also good. We enjoyed our time here and the area is perfect. Right off the highway. Would recommend staying here and we will come back when in Cleveland next time.
This was our second stay at the SpringHill Cleveland Independence within 2 months. When we return to visit family again we will definitely stay at this Springhill. Its location was ideal for us. The staff was pleasant and the suite was clean and comfortable with its roll in shower as the best feature for seniors.
We will be sure to stay at the Springhill Suites just about every time we are in Cleveland. The layout of the room was terrific, and the air conditioner new and nice and quiet. The mattress and pillows were just fine. The TV was excellent and could be turned for ideal viewing. What a nice hotel!
Although check in was a breeze BEWARE! If you leave anything it’s fair game! I left a new pair of legging and a sweatshirt in the dresser. I check out at 12:25. I called at 5:00 and the front desk person retuned my inquiry at 9:00 stating nothing was found! Never again will I stay in any Marriott property! NEVER!
Stayed at the SpringHill Suites for a wedding that I was in. We got ready at the hotel and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. I needed to check in early due to the wedding and was able to with no problem. The hotel is within walking distance of quite a few restaurants which was nice. The breakfast had something for everyone and was well stocked.
I was in town for a wedding and had this hotel as a block too reserve. I thought the price was steep but was what was available. Once I got to the room, the cable box was hanging off the tv and when checking for cable, it was a blank screen. I called the front desk, once staff came to check over an hour later, had no idea how to fix it. I was told maintenance would fix it tomorrow and that I could just was Netflix. I was hoping to relax and watch tv so asked if I could have another room with a working tv. I was told that because I was there for a wedding, I had to stay in the rooms blocked off for the wedding so was unable to move.Maintenance never came to fix the tv and it didn’t work the entire stay. Way too expensive to not have working amenities.
I am a Marriott rewards member and booked a suite in this hotel for our family of 3. My husband and I often drive to Cleveland from Buffalo, NY to meet our daughter who drives from Cincinnati, Ohio- and this was the best experience, of all hotels we have stayed so far for this purpose. Spaceous, stylish and comfortable suite, good breakfast, and hotel located close to eating/dining places. Staff very courteous, and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend it.
Rooms are spacious. Hotels is less than a year old. Still smells new ! Sitting area with couch . Work desk . Television that tilts toward sitting area or bed. Outside they have a fire pit- great evening relaxation. Workout facility had several treadmills so didnt have to wait for machine. Able to walk to two restaurants right next door . We will return when back in area.
Stayed in March of 2019. Was visiting the Rock n Roll Hall of fame. Looked online for hotels in area. Chose this one because of the price and how great the pictures were online. Did not use any of the amenities as we were just staying overnight. Great hotel! The price online had been slashed by 79$ at that time. But they should keep the price in line with neighboring hotesl at that lower price.
This hotel was one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels Ive stayed in. It was modern, clean and the staff was so friendly. beds are comfortable and the shower is so great with plenty of hot water. There are a few restaurants close by so you can get what you want to eat (Outback & Bone Fish are within walking distance). I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!
This is a beautiful hotel. The location was conventiently located and the staff was very friendly. I loved the spaciousness and all of the amenities in tge room. The way the microwave and refrigerator were inconspiciously hidden gave the decor a clean sleek loom. This hotel gets an A+
This is a beautiful hotel with several modern amenities and a super-friendly staff. My room was very comfortable and clean with a stylish and sleek design. It is conveniently located right off of the interstate, and I walked next door each night for dinner at a couple of my favorite restaurants. Ill definitely return to this hotel the next time Im in the area.
I highly recommend SpringHill Suites Cleveland Independence. My son and I were traveling from Michigan to Maryland at the end of his semester and decided to break up the trip with a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The hotel was only 15 minutes from there. It was very clean and modern with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of fresh choices. Overall wonderful experience!
The hotel is comfortable clean and the staff were friendly. That being said sadly I wont be staying there anymore because they infuse a scent into the room that is so overpowering that it gave me a headache and caused my wifeand son to use there inhaler very unfair to expose people to such overpowering chemicals.
Its a fairly new hotel so Ill give them time to get things together. Customer service was nothing like im used to when I go to Marriott Hotels. The receptionist told me I could only have one room instead of the two I reserved without properly looking over my information. Then when she realized she made a mistake and gave me the two rooms she said my bad. Usually they will say your room/rooms are down the hallway, to the left or right, elevators are to the left, take two rights then a left etc. I was handed my key cards and off on to a scavenger hunt to find my rooms. Theres more things that happen to my family and I during or stay including the house keeping but will just daddy I hope they get things together over there.
After staying 1 night at a fancy Marriott property in Downtown Cleveland, had to check out because I could not sleep as the heating unit was very loud ALL night. Checked into Springhill Suites because of the convenient location. The hotel was immaculate, the staff was fantastic and the rooms we stylish and very comfortable. I will NOT hesitate to stay here again when visiting family and friends!
I was unable to obtain a downtown hotel for the SHPE conference and stayed at this location which was recommended to me by my nephew. The location was very easy to get to the I-77 freeway and getting back and forth from the conference was easy. The amenities were something I specifically look for - the gym is a focus point for me and I appreciated the amount of equipment and size of the area.

2022-07-11The hotel itself was nice, I loved the room. For the most part, it was clean and the breakfast was good. The reason I am giving the hotel two stars is because I suspect theft after requesting room service from the hotel. I had a piece of jewelry tucked away before room service and after packing the jewelry box and bringing it back home we unpack it and a pair of earrings were gone from it. I wouldn’t be so mad if they weren’t my grandmothers who had passed last year and the ones I wore in my wedding. They were not worn or taken out the rest of the trip so who else would have taken them out? Just be mindful when staying here about your belongs and who enters your room!

2022-04-03Rooms seemed visibly clean at first, until we started noticing cup stains on counters, someone elses hair on the nightstand, dirty counters behind ice bucket and coffee machine. Hot tub was visibly filthy with smelly, musty water. Scent used in hotel smelt clean at first, but started to make me feel sick after a few days. Could use some hot items on breakfast menu for the price. Pool was fine, as well as fitness center. Beds seemed clean and comfortable. There was a small bug crawling on my sons pillow - not sure if it was a bed bug or not. No bites. TV is in bad position in relation to beds. Our daughter slammed her finger in the sliding bathroom door - has no stopper and slides very fast if not familiar with that kind of door like our daughter. Staff pleasant. Housekeeping friendly and accommodating.

2022-04-03Great place to stay and very clean. We just loved the morning breakfast lady so sweet. And always a pleasure to talk to. The girls at the front desk was amazing as well. Overall we have stayed in this area off and on for 18 years and hands down the best in the area.

2022-06-24We found the hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and the staff was friendly. Look at the pictures closely because the one bedroom is a studio room with a bathroom. It’s not like Residence Inn or other Marriott properties where one bedroom is actually one bedroom. The only separation between a couch and bed is a desk with a tall backing. On this basis, the room with two queen beds could be listed as a two bedroom.

2022-06-23The rooms are clean and the staff is really nice. Theres also a nice walking trail across the street. However, the wifi is very poor, cutting in and out every 10 minutes. Additionally, they dont have remotes in the rooms, instead requiring you to use your phone as a remote. However, if the TV turns off or something with the input goes wrong you cant actually use the TV. The staff was super helpful and found a remote for me, but such an unnecessary inconvenience.

2022-04-06Location easy to access, facilities all very clean. Breakfast was fresh but lacked a lot of options for proteins. Only complaints were nit-picky things about the room, such as a shower door that didnt open all the way, making it slightly challenging to get in and out of the shower, and other minor details like a cou h cushion that was on backwards (with zipper showing). A couple pieces of hardware in the room were also loose, such as coat hooks, etc. Overall, a good stay.

2022-01-26Bed bugs. Once I told the staff they handled it well, but I would want to know! The staff had it confirmed with exterminators. The room otherwise was also not very clean. There were actually cheetos on the carpet of my room when I first checked in. The other huge negative here which was not the staff’s fault, was that we had multiple boy’s hockey teams staying in the hotel who were extremely loud in the evenings (well after 11pm). 50+ people in the lobby each night - drinking adults and screaming children (unfortunately that isn’t an exaggeration). When I went to ask the front desk staff about it, we had to lean over the counter and yell to hear each other. The staff told me they do have a quiet hours policy and that I wasn’t the first person to ask, but that they didn’t really know how to enforce it. I ended up very politely speaking with some of the parents myself around 1130pm, but I shouldn’t have had to be the one to do that. The kids would play hockey in their rooms and in the hallways after 11pm as well. Not sure if this is a common destination for sports teams.

2022-07-09I just finished an 11 night stay here. The hotel is probably the most conveniently located Marriott property in the Independence Area, particularly if you are walking places.Check in: I arrived really early and they were able to accommodate me with no issues. I never expect it but always immensely appreciate when it happens. It was a typicalCheck in an they were able to put me on the 4th floor and meet my high floor preference.Room: The room was overall clean; however, there were a lot of spots that were needlessly dirty and other issues like the protective plastic covering the bathroom door shipped with still being at the top. I also highly suggest during the summer months, try not to get an even numbered room. There was direct sunlight in my room from like 5 - 8pm.Service: the staff were all very polite. Requests for additional towels were handled within an hour. The one issue I had was that housekeeping was by request and my initial housekeeping service after my check in I had to request 3 times before it was actually done. Every other housekeeping request was done as requested but the first one being ignored twice was concerning.Amenities: There was a bar in the lobby that I did not visit and a nice outdoor seating area. A coin laundry was on the first floor and only $3 for a wash and dry ($2 and $1 respectively). The big downfall for the hotel was the Wi-Fi. I had a heck of a time staying connected across multiple devices. Everyday I got a “connection is not secure” message on everything I had connected. Streaming was also difficult on the “high speed” connection. It really made me count down the day until I could leave due to the frustration.Bonvoy: I am Ambassador Elite level and had a nice card given to me at check in. It was handwritten by the Assistant Manager thanking me for my loyalty and wishing me a happy birthday (I checked out on my birthday). I did not utilize late checkout this stay.Overall I would probably not stay here again, and have chosen the Courtyard in Independence for my next few stays.

2022-02-27The staff were very friendly however the carpet in the hallways badly needed vacuumed. Room was near something mechanical that sent vibrations through the bed and furniture and is loud enough to keep you awake. Apparent drink watermarks on the nightstand show surfaces arent being wiped down. Disappointed

2021-09-24We stopped at this hotel along our drive from NYC to Indiana and overall, we were happy with the accommodations. The suite comfortably fit our family of four. The hotel is about 10-12 minutes off the I-80. There is complementary breakfast, easy parking, swift check in and check out and WiFi. We did find various hardware throughout the hotel room (i.e. screws, knobs, etc) missing. The supply of tissues in our bathroom was underwhelming. I would have preferred an additional set of hooks in the bathroom. However, the closet and desk were thoughtfully designed and the fridge and microwave nook was implemented nicely. We would return to this hotel in the future and would recommend it as well.
