Great Place, peaceful, we love the family feel here! The Guys that runs the place, GREAT couldnt ask for 2 better people. Its a very Kid Friendly RV park, its safe with cameras up. Beautiful place, beautiful pond and small waterfall. Play ground for kids, laundry room on site.. Loving our time here so far, have only about 2 suggestions.
Great for a one night stop! The staff was extremely helpful, even guiding us into our spot the easiest way possible. The park is expansive, with a pull thru section at the front closest to the highway, back-in spots at the center and seasonal and annual spots spread around, making it feel spacious and pretty. The folks we met (seasonal and annual) were very friendly to us as we passed thru the area for a one night stay. There are about 50 acres of open space at the far end of the grounds where we were told we could let our dogs run off leash (but there was no dog park that we saw). Shaded sites, sunny sites, a large lake, a small pond for catch and release, very neat long term sites and a small camp store and pool. The highway traffic noise was subtle and not noticed at the middle or back of the campground. Gas, restaurants and stores very nearby. Very close to the highway off ramp. We would stay again when in the area.
We stayed at Spring Valley just last week, as a pit stop while traveling fulltime. We wish that we could of stayed longer. The staff and fellow campers, even the long term residence, were quite friendly.Pros-LocationProperty is beautifulClean bathhouse and laundry roomReliable WIFI**Pet friendlyCon-The roads within the property are quite bumpy. However, it appears that they are starting to fill the holes and leveling the paths.
Update—have enjoyed my time here so much, I just purchased a seasonal. Love this campground. Love the activities, the solitude, and the fact anything hou may need is a mile away.Ohio just “opened-up” campgrounds last week. They literally had one week to get the entire site ready. Then, we had the worst 3-day stretch of rain we have had in years. I had never camped here before, so I didn’t know what to expect. We arrived on Memorial Day weekend, as I had these reservations for months. To be honest, the place was full of people that just needed out of the house.Super friendly staff, (including owner). Kevin was very helpful too.Even with the pool being “still closed” by the state, there was plenty to keep you occupied. My daughter swam in the lake, fished, rode bikes, and had a great time. There are always people out in their lots, so it was a good place for children to play.I have already made more reservations for this year. Definitely nice, and the price is reasonable too.Very easy to get to. Directly off Interstate, but in a country setting. Restaurants are nearby. Walmart is a mile away.Shower rooms were clean and showers nice too.
Great location for overnight since it is close to the highway. Our pull through was adequate. This is a no frills campground and there is no cable. Our picnic table could have used replacing as one bench was bowed! It was quiet and neat. We would stay again if passing through the area.
Stayed overnight only as a stop before my final destination. Extremely reasonable. Staff very friendly when making the reservation and when we arrived. Great spot with shade and pull thru. Pool is very nice and so are the showers. Would definitely stay here again even for a longer time frame. Only con. Office closes at six, but they leave your reservation info with map at front door for after hours so you can still get in.
Very nice, clean and quiet campground. Mostly level sites with no difficulties. Cable TV was offered at time of reservation but had been removed from grounds with no prior notice and no prorated rate. Bring your Roku or Netflix account for the rainy days. But overall a very nice 5 days. Will definitely return.
Nice camp for overnight. Quite close to the Interstate, so noisy. No pavement and quite a few large potholes. Nice trees in a nice area. Pull throughs are a little short as connections are close to the end of the sites. Many permanent residents. Fairly nice staff and office. Would stop here again.
I asked for a water and electric only site. these sites are in the back of the campground which is okay by me cuz Im away from the sounds of the highway. However the roads are pot holely and rough even at 5 miles per hour. The sites are all grass and are not level, I was okay front to rear but had to put an inch on one side. Sites are roomy in length and distance between you and your neighbor so that is a good thing. As I am here just for an overnight stay I have not checked out the amenities but they do have both a pond and a pool. The cost at $32 for the one night stay with no discount is just fine.
It used to be a great place. Now they took out the diving boards and slides and the beach is no more. The lake used to be fun and now I wouldnt swim in it at all. I really wish the owners would put love and passion back into their camp ground and make it family oriented again, instead of trying to pinch pennies and cut corners. It literally drove business away. My family has camped there over 30 years and now they are rude and drive their business away...other than that its not a bad place to check out! P.s. dont mind the attitude at the front desk.
I doubt if I will ever stay at Spring Valley Campground in Cambridge, OH again. After staying 2 weeks, they refused to extend us to a month for the Monthly rate. That is just cheap. Stayed for 2 weeks this spring and we are just finishing a 2 week stay, but I guess customer satisfaction is not their main concern. We just live 2 miles down the road and I have recommended them to family and friends, but not anymore. We will find a place that at least acts like they like us.
I’d recommend visiting another camping grounds. I’ve been coming here with family since I was very young and they’ve had a lot out there for 30+ years. The original owners were great but within the last several years, there has been a new set. You can 100% tell the difference. The roads are horrible, the playground sandbox is filled with bees and animal feces, and the owners run the place to the extent where it isn’t fun to come. The owners are rude and campers are pulling their trailers out left and right. They also require a minimum of $10 when purchasing at the store when using a card. I’m pretty positive that you can’t do that. If someone wanted to go in a buy a candy bar, I guess you’d have to buy $10 worth of chocolate...however there’s no charge for the attitude at the check-in desk.
Very clean and affordable campsite. We used a back in space for our rented RV. Hook ups were in excellent condition and all conveniently located.Office staff was so nice when I called. Bathrooms are super clean. The fishing was great, too! This site was our favorite so far. Beats KOA any day!
Great place to camp. A bit congested in the front, but nice scenery once you get though the front campsites. Very nice pond to fish, great pool for the kids (a bit small for the size of this campground), and a nice store on-site. Close to interstate and easy to find. Stores and restaurants near by.
Love this place! Been coming since i was a kid, and now bringing my son and infant daughter. Kinda sad to see some of the nasty remarks people left who were basically just passing thru. Its a great place to come and relax, fish, swim in the lake yes the lake isnt my thing either. The dock needs fixed. The slide scares me but most think its a blast. We love to ride our bikes, yes the pool is small...bfd! The pool deck has been repaired. My 3 year old thinks it is awesome along with the 10 other kids that are in and out. What does the size of a pool matter. My family has been permanent campers for years now. I love how people complained about the cabins....update on the cabins July 2015 they are under construction and being rebuilt. But are what did you would expect from a camp ground....its camping...if you want a plush place to stay you freakin yuppie go to a hotel....the water treatment plant is like a 12x12 fenced in area in between all permanent sites...so how you were near it and it bothered you! ? Even on yesterdays 95 degree day riding our bikes past it you would have never known it was there... another comment on lack of grass..thats comical. sometimes I wish people would think about the things they say about a place and the impact it could have for years.....in the end camping is what you make of it. The whole point is to be with family and friends. It may not always be perfect but thats the beauty of it.I despise the drillers they have truly ruined the roads. The camp ground has worked to fix this but its still a muddy mess after a good downpour. Most of the drillers seem to be gone now only a few left. Other than that we have no complaints. The bathrooms are usually clean typical camp bathrooms. The office guys are great and super nice and compassionate. The owner treats it as a business and isnt really compassionate about anything. A lady posted about the office nagging as soon as her family got there about paying this is true. But some campgrounds you cant even enter until you pay and have a car pass. A lot of people take advantage and she was staying for Christmas in July as were we. They do go a bit extreme though. This is a great place for families.
We arrived after hours and apparently after the main season. We wish that it had been clearly noted that the electric service was not 110, and that the restrooms were closed as we were in a tent. The part of the campground we saw looked tidy and decently maintained and if by this direction again we would stop during season.
Its an ok campground. From the primitive camping sites, the showers and toilets are far away. The pond is also algae covered and does not seem nice to swim in. The power outlet near me did not work, so I had to plug in at my neighbors plug in order to charge my phone.
Well, we tried to stay here but after doing the after hours check-in we went to look for a site. Two hours later after getting stuck and driving our 32 foot trailer through the woods on an unbelievably narrow and rough road we left in disgust! Why arent the open sites identified on the check-in documents? Why are there not signs on the roads and the map warning campers not to drive large trailers on the road above the lake? Dont try to stay here unless you have a reservation and good luck with that because they dont answer the phone after 6 pm!
Used to be a fun, family oriented campgrounds. Which is why we decided to pay for a seasonal spot this year( 2018). In our contract it states ,cable is free. Now,since Spectrum has decided to go DIGITAL. The owner is backing out of the contract for free cable. Supposed to be hyping up internet ( still sucks ) as of 7/1/18. So campers can stream movies. In his letter, it states there will be NO REFUNDS or modifications to the free cable perk to Seasonal Camper Contracts. Rumor has it. The swing sets are coming down. Not wanting to pay for liability insurance. Whats next? The pool? No children riding bikes on campgrounds? This will be our last year as campers @ Spring Valley. Seasonal and otherwise.
Theres only one reason to stay here: youre passing through and need an inexpensive one-night stay. For full hookups it was just $30, which isnt bad for a place with a pool. That said, this place is ran like a trailer park - many if not most of the spots have RVs that have been parked here for years. Black/grey water tanks are permanently plumbed in on many of these rigs and there are hand built decks or porches randomly placed. Spots are crammed together tight and you will definitely hear the highway that runs just a few hundred yards away, or worse - the water processing motor that buzzes 24/7 (its surrounded by a wood privacy fence but that doesnt keep the noise at bay).We got to our site and the electric was on the opposite side of the water/sewer (WTF?!), the sewer is just an uncapped PVC drain with no cover or threads, there was an empty chips bag laying on the grass, and on our picnic table had a piece of wood with vinyl on it was just sitting on top of the table for no apparent reason.Sites are unpaved and gravel/grass. They are somewhat level but plan on making some minor side-to-side adjustments. The park rules wont let you put out an RV rug under your canopy because it will destroy the grass, yet the grass here is already in pretty poor condition - not to mention that most of the full timers have out pavers or hand made decks or steps. If it sounds like Im being harsh, its just because Spring Valley definitely has the potential to be a nicer place. That said, for $30 a night (electric and water included), its hard to be too critical for a place to stop & sleep. Just plan on running the AC with the windows closed to drown out the road noise and that motor that runs behind the privacy fence 24/7.
It used to be a friendly place. My family has come here for 30 years. Im sad to say it no longer is this way. I am parked in lot 26 for the entire month of July. It is before you get to the office door. My oldest son and my grandchildren have come to visit me now twice. Both times they have been hassled for their 4 extra dollars for visiting. Today my grandkids didnt even get out of the car next to my camper before they were jumped for payment. Its seriously ridiculous. Then the owner came to the pool area saying my son called his employee an F word. Totally false accusation!! Im sad to say Im not coming back. There are too many other options where my family wont be treated badly. Dont expect the office to be open before 11 am or after 6pm either. Thats also when they open and close the pool Monday-Friday.
Not good. Pot holes everywhere. Muddy site barely any grass. Small lot. Yellow water. Pool deck cracked, pool falling apart. Swimming lake looked like a sewage treatment facility. This was the first time out. I then booked a spot for labor day weekend over the phone. Dumb mistake in the firstplace. I tried to cancel 3 days later and was told there are no refunds on holiday reservAtions. No mention of that was made when booking. I was told that u had to cancel 24 hrs in advance for refund. But cancelling 9 days in advance wont give a refund. Also charged my credit card for the stay in advance without telling me. This seems like fraud. Beware this is one of the worst camp grounds I have ever stayed at not sure why I was dumb enough to book again. I will be sure to warn everyone locally by word of mouth about this place as I am local myself. Stay away. Dont be decieved. Its like an oil field worker trailerpark. Place is not nice. Will also be making sure they dont rent the spot I tried to cancel without refunding my money. It can just sit empty that weekend since I paid for it.
Favoritism towards certain campers, unfair enforcement of “rules” this place is a joke... the previous owners really had something nice built and these new owners are destroying it, roads in terrible shape, docks on pond in disrepair, and as said before favoritism and unfair enforcement of “rules”
We came to the area for work purposes, intending to stay for several weeks we pulled in at 2am to a empty lot, didnt unhook camper and didnt hook up any utilities. Waited till morning at 10 when office opened, we were told we had to leave because we had a dog outside, and were charged $34 for the night that we parked on a lot...we will go to Walmart parking lot next time for a over night stay
It has literally taken me 25 minutes to access this site to write this review. Their FREE WIFI they advertise is a joke. It drops out every 5 mins and when it does work it is slower than dialup. The permanent campers are nasty to temp campers. The staf was friendly but I only saw kids working no adults so they were clueless on everything. The great swimming pool is about the size of your average kiddy pool you can buy at walmart. Dont waste your time...Wolfies in Zanesville is just down the street and we are pulling out tomorrow to go there.
Stayed for one month at this campground. Owners comunicaion is horrible made me move my fifth wheel from a full hookup site to a primitive site because they double booked the site for 5 days. Then would not pro rate my rent. Then moved me back into a different site and proceded to try to move me agin a week later. I would not recomend this campground to any one at all worste camping experiance i have ever had.
Very nice sites, staff very friendly, only stayed one night while travelling NJ to CO, had a very nice seasonal camper help us with an electric issue which we should have avoided to begin with, fishing was good for sport small mouth bass, make sure you have an extra long cable connection ours was 25 we didnt get the cable ($2) would stay again, found them on the RV Parky app
Julie told me about 2 years ago that they bought the camp ground to run as a business not to make friends it really shows some friends of ours paid the extra half a day for the fourth that they offered this year (2014) it came time to put the boats in the water and they said not enough kids to put the boats to much trouble. Did not care about the people there that paid the money to stay? THANKS SPRING VALLY CAMP WASTE OF MONEY
UNFORTUNATE DECLINE!!!While checking in on July 4th weekend 2022, I was met with 2 nice ladies working at the front desk. Thats about where the good service ends. After driving to my site to find a huge mud hole (hasnt rained in over a week), I returned to the office to see if any other sites were available. None, all booked. The Yayhoo maintenance guy checked the site and informed me thats just mother nature. A couple ton of stone would have made the site adequate. We got the camper in the mud hole site and everyone just had to try and avoid falling in (a couple failed). Apparently you dont want to be at this campground if a hard rain hits either as lots of sites flood easily.POOL CLOSES AT 6pm!!! Never at any campground weve stayed at anywhere in the country has the pool closed at 6pm. Pool didnt even open until almost noon all weekend. The pool is tiny and doesnt have any pool furniture. The campers are greeted with the Yayhoo walking in, rolling some old pool cleaner thing, and giving everyone the thumbs up and out signal at closing time. Never seen anything like this at a campground.Shower House is located in the middle of the long campground and apparently closes at 6pm also (sorry tent and cabin campers). It is attached to the pool and is very outdated. Doesnt have any soap dispensers and hasnt for quite a while according to friends that have seasonal sites. Imagine being a tent or cabin camper and using the bathroom with no way to wash your hands! We talked with a lady staying in a cabin and asked how she liked it. Ill never stay here again she said. The roof leaked on her bed and she had to sleep in the car the night it rained a little bit. Not a long or hard rain. She complained to the office and the Yayhoo told her that apparently his flex tape didnt hold. She also said the guy running the place asked her if shed like to just check out. She wasnt thrilled with the shower house closing at 6pm either. The positives are the location and the nice campers you will meet there. This place is like most campgrounds with friendly like minded campers that will help out if needed or offer a beer. It does have a large lawn/playground area with lots of room to play. Large pond to fish but wouldnt recommend swimming. This pond was once awesome with a dock in the middle and diving board and slide (when I was a kid). Whoever owns and runs this campground should be ashamed of what it has turned into. Lack of maintenance and caring is obvious. This campground was once nice with friendly competent staff and nice facilities. Not anymore. We live 5 minutes away and know many of the seasonal campers. They pretty much all have the same thoughts. P.S. The seasonal sites look nice because they put their own money into them. Unfortunate
There fireworks was pretty awesome, and they had a food truck there, but where we parked our camper, the spots are backwards as the roads are one way. Theres a playground but it needs some serious attention. I think the merry go round is done for. Its a danger. And the camper directly in front of us didnt even have connections hooked up to there sewage pipe as it was sitting in the hole on one end and a clamp on the other. Everytime someone used there crapper, thats what we could smell in an overwhelming fashion. The pool would be cool if the bigger kids would play accordingly. Most play in the kiddie part of the pool. So really little kids cant play, and its an peanut shaped pool kinda but there were over twenty people in the water. The experience was for my kids and they had an alright time even though they wanted to leave a day early. Im giving you the honest truth here. Camper beware, if you make plans to come here, be sure you really want to because they wont give you your money back no matter what. Would not recommend, will not be back either. Also there was some guy slumped over the steering wheel of his car on the side of the road that leads to the campgrounds but people should know that because he looked messed up. IDK I stopped but he insisted he was alright. Also I forgot to mention, the lake is small but fishable. But not from the end of the docks because there broken and sit under the water. Now that I wrote this Im thinking this was more of a disaster than anything.

2022-06-20Shysters! My mother had a death in the family & they continuously delayed her getting refunded (multiple days!) for a reservation. After I got involved they called them back and told them they will refund all but one night! I understand a cancellation fee, but taking more $ is ridiculous and not stated in their own policy! They are only supposed to take $15 for cancellation. Also, instead of holding your charge they will take the entire amount before you go. So, if you’re not on top of it they get the money regardless if you go or not. Shysters!Be aware. The owners are not fair people. This place is also a mud hole. So bring your slush boots & a good filter for the water.

2022-06-30Nice place to stop overnight as it is right off the freeway. Nice clean bathrooms and hot showers. We arrived after they closed but had our envelope with our campsite number in the box next to front entrance with complete instructions. Only thing I would change is to level out the pull through site as it is on a slope so truck sat higher than rv but still a nice site and staff was friendly when we called to make reservation as well.

2022-06-18The park needs some maintenance. The playground really needs some repair work done to the equipment and some sandblasting. Our water hookup was in the middle of someone elses site, and his dogs werent too sure about me interrupting their vacation when we needed to turn off our water. The electric is a touch spotty, and the laundry room has limited hours, so its a bit inconvenient. That being said, the location is really beautiful, and the people that run it are genuinely some of the nicest people. It is truly a kid friendly park. It just needs some sprucing up.

2022-05-02Beautiful campground. We had the opportunity to capture The 2022 K-9 Rally in the Valley. It was a complete success. We met some of the most amazing folks Saturday. Thank you for the kindness and hospitality.

2022-05-24Convenient. But a bit noisy. And the quiet hours are too short, they don’t begin until 11p and even midnight on weekends!! Quiet hours should be no later then 9p and no I am not old.

2021-11-20Great place. Pull throughs made it easy to set up. Was there during the winter so pool wasn’t open but took a nice walk around the pond. Must be an awesome place during the summer. Easy on and off from I70. All kinds off amenities super close including a fuel station for big rigs. Recommend completely

2022-06-12Safe place to keep your camper. Not much to do in the winter, but in the summer there is all kinds of things to do! 😳 Swimming, playground, fishing very nice there
