My mom was here and this nursing home is awful. This place was absolutely rude and had awful service. My mom was only there for a day before we switched because this place treated her terribly. This place was dirty on the inside and there were so many people including my mom were pressing the button without a response. They could have been DYING and they wouldn’t have cared. They tried putting dirty diapers and masks on her and many other reviews here saying that their family members almost die. Never take anyone here this place says s awful.
No place is perfect and even good people can let you down but as far as the staff and services at Echo Manner go they are pretty darned good. I came here for care from a long illness and hospitalization. I arrived on the day the quarantine became enforced so I have been in here without my family and friends being allowed to visit. The staff have been kind and compassionate. They make this a warm and caring place. They take great care of the residents. I would highly recommend anyone to come here for care. I have been exposed to several care facilities and Echo Manor is hands down the best I have seen. All of the posts on here prior to mine were based on a different company managing this facility and really should not apply to current ratings.
My mother was here and all I can say is I am absolutely furious. This place threw her dirty diapers on the bathroom floor and tried to put it back on her. They also threw her mask on the ground trying to put her back on her as well. This place is filthy and the grass is uncut. My mom pressed the button because she was hungry and it took them 32 minutes. They had her sit around all day and they only let her use the bathroom once every twenty four hours.
Highly do NOT recommend! Family member was admitted here this year of 2021, and left immediately because they weren’t being treated correctly. They did not take proper care of him, not changing his bandage wounds, checking his vitals, ignoring him when he asked for food, and having attitude. Please find a different place to take your loved ones, this just isn’t the place.
My friend was there for about two and a half weeks. It was quite an ordeal. Let me start with the good. Her physical therapists were consistent, professional and she made great progress. There were a few aids that were outstanding and kind. Some aids were loud and insulting, especially about helping you use the bathroom, etc. Sometimes she waited for hours to get a bed pan. Of course the place was also short on staff. A few of her medications were lost and she had to go without. The Administrator seemed overwhelmed and requests were not carried out in a timely manner.
My brother in law was here for two months after a stroke. The rehab staff was exceptional and they got him back to a good place where I could bring him home. The nurses and aids were so kind to him and our family, he didn’t have to wait long for help and his medications were on time. I would recommend echo manor to anyone.
My father went to this center January 2021 and I had to have a moved out of the center because they tried to kill him. They let him lay for almost a week without having dialysis. They were trying to find him a dialysis place close which he was already scheduled to go down on Olentangy River Road and have dialysis down there. I brought clothes for my dad. His clothes are all missing. His wallet everythingIs missing And his cell phone. I don’t recommend taking a family member there unless you want them to die.
There is only one woman who I really trust at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I have found that my Mother seems to be left wearing dirty clothes from food (she has trouble with motor skills) meals completed hours earlier. Also, when my Mother complained that she had not eaten, the kitchen staff insisted that she had and could not figure out or understand any systems that would indicate which residents had eaten. But they are very quick to claim someone has not eaten, and not give them a meal. I am not certain what the staff is busy doing, but the television in her room does a lot of work.In the dinning room, I was just there a few days ago while my Mother was eating and I saw about two or three elderly people at a table and getting assistance with their meals with two staff members while one man in a wheelchair and completely unable to move his arms and legs was just seated at the table with his food in front of him, getting cold. No staff members were assisting him.During the same visit, an elderly woman asked me if I could take her to her room. I did, as there is no oversight in the dinning room by the paid staff. This very nice old woman seemed to have Dementia or Alzheimers and asked me to take her to room 122. I asked a staff member exactly in which hallway where this room is located. I left the woman there and told the staff that she was put into this room, that looked unoccupied and that someone should go and get her because I was here to see my own Mother. The black man at the desk and the white woman next to him did not even ask me who I was or how I was related to the older woman who I just pushed down the hall past them. The facility is not that large, but the staff knows how to disappear. Residents of this facility just hang out in wheel chairs in the halls and those who are lucky, can move their feet just a little to get around. I was also told by a staff member that when residents get too talkative or require supervision by staff members, that they just have the residents sit at the Nurses station and watch them work.I encourage everyone to just walk in and look at this place. Especially at night. This place is disorganized and the priorities are everywhere else, but at Echo Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I am not certain if there is not enough staff, or that they are lacking in training. Too many people here are simply just collecting a paycheck and I believe the problem starts at the top.
After researching Extended Care Facilities, my wife and I decided that I would stay at Echo Manor, following Total Knee Replacement surgery. I was already treating for injuries to my shoulder and lower back, so use of a walker during my early rehabilitative stage was going to be difficult, hence time to heal with professional assistance. My entire stay was just shy of four weeks.Echo Manor provides expert care with the combination of state-of-the-art equipment, experienced nurses, assistants and physical therapists.Upon my arrival, they immediately worked with online pharmacists to get approval for pain medication, since the prescriptions had not yet been sent from the hospital. They also put in an order for a larger bed to accommodate my size. The bed was shipped in and put in place within a few days. They also measured me and ordered a larger wheelchair to make my movement easier and more comfortable. When I needed to report back to my Orthopedic Specialist in Lancaster, they arranged for pickup, transportation and my return. They sent someone with me, with my consent, for observation. The staff did a great job of helping me with showering, application of lotion to the new knee and donning diabetic hosiery (I call it such because unlike socks they fit like panty hose, running all the way up to my lower thigh) for better blood flow.Meals were timely and consistent. They even changed my permanent order to double portions status, per my request. Personally, I felt that the meal sizes were smaller than necessary and the staff had no problem honoring my request. It wasnt a hotel, so I didnt expect to eat hearty, but I do. At least more than what was initially provided.Everyone there was personable and good for information and general conversation, treating my guests with the same care and kindness as they did me.When it was time for physical therapy, their team met me early mornings to get me in and out with phenomenal treatment; understanding enough to make adjustments with time, if need be. Their methods were dedicated and encouraging, getting me back at optimum levels in no time. They also coordinated a home health assessment to observed me in my own home living conditions to determine if it was suitable for my continuing therapy. Part of my assessment included me demonstrating proficiency with moving up and down my stairs, entering my bathtub and getting into my bed. Through their efforts, I was discharged earlier than anticipated and transitioned back to normal living in no time. What I hadnt expected, but truly appreciated, was the visits by my Guardian Angel (a specialist, assigned to me personally) and the Director Of Nursing, who checked on me frequently. This was one of the many things that reminded me that I made the right decision choosing this facility. The one question I would ask before referring this place would be similar to what I ask managers in my job as a Safety Director: Would you allow your daughter to work under these conditions? But in this case, Id ask, Would I allow my mother to come here for extended care and treatment? Of course the answer is a definite YES.I made a separate visit a few days after discharge just to say hello and give a few additional hugs to staff members that I didnt get the opportunity to say goodbye to on my final day.I wish I could name all of the stellar performers, but I would make the mistake of excluding someone, so Ill just say that the entire crew deserves a resounding Bless You for all that they did for me. Particularly making me feel protected when I joined the senior citizens in bingo and won. I thought they were going to jump me...
This is my second stay here in the TCU area and I find that the greater majority of the staff is very competent and friendly. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the time meals arrive cold and incomplete. Even when asked, meals arent what Ive requested.Physical and occupational therapists are very helpful. They make sessions enjoyable and effective. The aides are extremely under-staffed and over-worked. As with any environment, you get those that do an exceptional job, while some dont really care and it shows. I tip my hat to the nursing staff and the aides. I know I would not be able to put up with the very rude behavior I have witnessed by some of the residents.
I live in Florida. I learned last night at approximately 7:30 that my father was transferred from Mt Carmel East Hospital to Echo Manor at 11:30 am yesterday morning. I called the reception desk at Echo Manor, was told he was on Rehab Hall. I asked for a direct number to the nurses station but was told there is none. She transferred me to the station. The phone rang 40 or 50 times, then the receptionist came back on the line. She reattempted to transfer me to the nurses station. Again, the phone rang 40 to 50 times, then the line went dead. I called the receptionist desk once again. It rang and rang, the receptionist never answering. Finally, someone did answer. Quickly, I realized I was talking to a patient who told me her name was Jackie. I asked her if she could see a nurse I could speak with. She paused, then said she saw no nurses. Understanding I was dealing with a feeble elderly patient, I told her who I was and I needed to talk to my dad. I told her his name, and that hes a new man that came there that morning. Have you met J.... Call...., Jackie? No, I havent, she said. I thanked her and hung up. I called my brother who lives there in Columbus. He informed me hed called the facility around 6 pm - a full 6.5 hours from the time dad had been transferred to Echo Manor. He was told by the receptionist that they didnt think or even know if dad had been admitted! This facility, from other reviews Ive read, is notoriously short staffed. But what I experienced last night is unconscionable.
I normally dont write reviews but I have to save someones family member from this place. My father was placed here and almost died. I had to stay on them about little things like brushing my fathers teeth or giving him a shower. He had lost a tremendous amount of weight, which I believe from them not feeding him consistently. The last straw was when my father wanted someone to call me and when I got there he was gravely ill, no one there called an ambulance or was worried. I had my father transported to the nearest hospital where they admitted him and he had to undergo emergency surgery. If I could give this facility a zero I would, if you love your loved one I would bypass this place.
My Husband was there about 3 weeks for rehabilitation. The nurses are so distant when trying to get information some of the aides are lazy . The food was lousy we brought food in a lot for my husband. The communication is horrible between the social services worker and staff and clients. I showered my husband several times because aides were too lazy to do it. I suggest if you have loved ones do not send them to this facility its not a good place.
My mother was treated terrible it was Filthy there was no remote, my mother sit in her own Urine they did not change her diaper she had to ask to get her diaper changed and when they changed her they threw her diaper on the bathroom floor and tryed to put it back on her same as her mask to they threw it on the ground and tryed to put it back on her she can’t even get up NOBODY SHOULD BE TREATED THIS WAY
BEWARE! This used to be a great place but is going down fast. I come to visit my aunt and the old lady who runs this place is TERRIBLE. Her attitude is bad and she is BEYOND disrespectful to families. My cousin told her about a problem we had and she pointed her finger in her face. The way she treats the patients is even worse! The CNAs are wonderful and take good care of the patients but I have watched this lady treat them like scolded children!!!!! They all look beat down and will probably quit. Hopefully the people in charge will see this and make a change because if not we are taking our loved one and RUNNING!!!!!!
I took my 88 year old day here to recoup from an ankle injury and it was a NIGHTMARE from start to finish.. i wish i had enough space here to fully convey the incompetence of the staff.. From the Administrator to the stna/rns there.. ambulance dropped my dad off there and I was about 10 mins behind..When i got there he was UP and walking on a cast he had just got earlier in the day! Admin assured me hed have a bed alarm and the nurses would be alerted when he tried to get up..Didnt happen.. as it turned out they ended up asking me to take him to another facility! They knew going in he had Dementia but was NOT equipped to handle him or anyone who was as mobile as he is.. Please do NOT take your loved one there! Commercials are convincing but they are not whats going on inside.
I have had the opportunity to work at Echo Manor for several months. I have worked at different centers over the past few years. I really enjoy working with the staff at Echo Manor. There are so many great and caring people here. I’m happy to have the opportunity to work with them all.
Never send your loved ones here if you care about them in any capacity. My dad was sent there to recover from neuropathy and alcohol withdrawal, and he ended up going to the hospital with pneumonia and sepsis. When taken to the hospital, he was also dehydrated since he couldnt get a drink of water on his own due to the neuropathy. Such a frustrating lack of care.
I WAS THERE A COUPLE WEEKS TO GET MY LEGS STRONGER. WHILE I WAS THERE THE FOOD MOST OF THE TIME WAS NASTY AND I HAD TO SEND IT BACK. EVEN IF YOU FILLED OUT A MENU YOU MAY NOT GET WHAT YOU ORDERED. SOME OF THE STAFF WAS RUDE AND I T WOULD TAKE FOR EVER TO GET HELP. ONE DAY I LAYED AN HOUR BEFORE SONEONE CAME TO GET ME ON THE BED PAN. I DID MEET A COUPLE PEOPLE THAT WORKS THERE THAT WAS NICE. IF EVER IN ECHO MANOR DONT EAT THE FOOD. FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS OR SO I GOT THE SAME SANDWICH LUNCH AND DINNER TILL I RAISED HELL. NOT THE WORSE PLACE IVE SEEN.
My 63 y/o paw paw was paralyzed and was falling out the bed and repeatedly yelled for help and no response called more than 3 times and took several moments before a response but it was enough for two calls to be made from my paw paw do not send your loved one here or you will receive terrible food, staff, and attitude towards you and patient.

2022-04-07I work for a Hospice company that receives referrals from Echo Manor. The staff are always engaged in patient care plans and their quality of life. Staff are always educating and learning better ways to care for their patients and their needs. I’m at the facility almost weekly and see the improvements being made. The staff are always cheerful and willing to go the extra steps to ensure patient satisfaction. Hats off to exceptional care

2022-04-06I came to this facility for rehab after a new cancer diagnosis. When I came here, I was weak and unable to do much on my own. Today I am up walking with a walker and feeling great. The therapy department has done such great things. I am taken to my appointments by the transport driver and that is a wonderful experience, he is so nice! The staff always goes above and beyond for me. It will be a sad day when it is time to go home because I will miss this place so much! I recommend this facility to anyone.

2022-03-03AVOID THIS PLACE!!! As stated in the previous review, a majority of positive feedback online is written by current employees at the facility including the administrator and DON. This facility is absolutely understaffed and poorly managed. Call lights were on for hours every time I was there. Residents were often heard screaming for nurses or someone to come help them. Not to mention contacting anyone at this facility was usually impossible. I know how for-profit facilities are managed and this is truly one of the worst I’ve seen. Just a very upsetting experience all around. Please consider sending your loved one elsewhere.

2022-03-02Don’t be fooled—at least four (maybe more) of the 5 star positive reviews on here are from the upper management (including the administrator, DON, and ADON of the building) in order to make the rating appear higher. This building is extremely short staffed and is poorly managed. There was one day where there were only 2 nursing aides in the ENTIRE building and the management didn’t get any agency aides, resulting in patients lying in their feces for hours and screaming to get changed. My mother had to wait over an hour when she pressed the call light. I am an RN myself and have worked in SNFs previously so I understand how healthcare operates but this is one of the worst SNFs in the Columbus area. I will say the only good thing about this facility is the therapy department, they were great.

2022-03-30I have been in this facility for just over a year. I did not know I would be here as long as I would, but I have had good care with the staff. I do not remember ever having a bad incident here at all. The food is pretty good and they help me get what I want. The staff is nice to me. I will be living here long term and I am happy with that.

2022-06-17Stay away from here. Everything is posted by employees or friends of employees. Yes i did work here and its a good place at all. They can not keep staff there are alot of issues with the facility. The staff that is there does there best with what they have. But the company really does not care about guests or staff. There is always no money for some reason.

2022-03-27I want to say Olivia Shannon was extremely helpful in a situation where I had to relocate a family member. Without Olivias help I could not have made the successful relocation of said family member. Olivia was always understanding, courteous, and extremely professional. From guidance to paperwork to late day calls, I could always count on her. Words cannot express my gratitude for her help!!!

2022-01-11RUN!!!!! I am begging the potential client to read this in hopes of saving someone else from heartache. My actual rating is NEGATIVE 5. Due to the number of limited characters allowed for review, please click on the screenshots of my detailed review. If you’re looking for “for profit” care w/a $7500 minimum average cost per day that cuts every cost corner, this is a place to be. Every fear and horror associated with a “skilled facility”/nursing homes, we experienced. This place GUARANTEES the following: Prison food regardless of special diet (pics attached), maybe a room with controlled heating and air, if your room gets cleaned(left with a Greyhound Bus Station and/or unused Port-A-Potty sent), maybe you’ll get your vitals checked, unprofessionalism, patients are left to fend for themselves unless you have family that can be there 24/7, lack of care and concern, bedsores, etc.To the staff member/Echo Rep who replies to the negative Google Reviews with the generic statement below, please don’t bother. No one cared to reply to my concerns while we were there.[Insert complainant’s name], we are so sorry you had this negative experience. Would you kindly reach out to the facility Administrator or Director of Nursing so that we may discuss your feedback further? We look forward to turning your negative experience into a positive one.

2021-09-09When I first came in about 2 and a half weeks ago I could barely walk. I had very little strength in both legs, and at the end of the first week I had movement in both legs. I believe it is because of the quality of care at this facility. I had to thank my wife for bringing me here because if it wasnt for her I wouldnt have done it. When I first got here I wasnt sure I would like it, but after spending some time here it has become my second home. I dont think there is another place like it, and I wouldnt have made the progress I have without this team. The team is personable and made therapy more fun than I thought was possible. They allowed me to be me and made me the happiest person I could be. Thank you Team Echo!!
