Dustin and Jose were the picture of professionalism and perfection. I am so pleased with how my flooring turned out in my condo. Dustin even stayed on top of an upcoming tarriff so that I could get my flooring ordered before the hike kicked in. Saving me several thousand dollars. Dustin also checked in with me every step of the way, explained everything to me, and made great suggestions. Everything he did was to ensure the quality of what I was doing. Dustin suggested putting the flooring on one wall in each of my bedroom bathrooms. He has an example in his showroom. So glad I did it. It came out stunning!! Never did I feel like it was for the money. I would highly recommend Soft Step Carpet for your flooring needs.
This was our first experience with Soft Step, and from our initial appointment to the completion of the installation, we couldnt be happier with the process.Bobby ONeil was informative, and genuinely concerned with helping us find the right product, and at no point during the consultation did he apply any pressure. His follow up was equally impressive.The product that we selected is literally the softest carpet that weve ever walked on, and was very affordably priced. I would encourage anyone looking to upgrade their carpet(s) to give Bobby and his team an opportunity to show what Soft step has to offer!
I had shopped around for days for LVP and carpet flooring. I found soft step carpeting in Plain City. I spoke to both Dustin and Bobby. Bobby came to my house and showed me a few samples of what I was looking for. He suggested coming to the shop to see more samples. My husband and I took a drive to see what else they had and there we spoke to Dustin. Picked out what we liked and we set up a good time for us to have it installed!! Three awesome men came over and finished the project in ONE day!! We were very pleased with the quality of the product and excellent/professional service that we received!! My husband loved that they ripped up the flooring, hauled it away and moved the furniture themselves at No Charge!! Bobby and his installation team were awesome to work with. Bobby came out to our house on multiple occasions and was very patient and knowledgeable in helping us decide in the right type of carpet to purchase. He left numerous samples behind for me to contemplate my decision and was never pushy. Once I made my decision Bobby quickly got me scheduled and his installers did an excellent job!!!

Soft Step was great! They came to the house to show us samples and take measurements and were able to get us exactly what we were wanting. We had carpet installed in our new home in 3 bedrooms and a living area. The process was simple and great from start to finish. The workers arrived early and were very efficient, they were done in just a couple of hours. We loved the fact they tore up and disposed of the old carpet for no charge, the carpet from the previous owners was not taken care of and the musty smell from before is gone and left with the old carpet. The carpet looks great and our home feels brand new.
I hired these guys for my moms birthday/mothers day gift. My mom wanted carpet in all but two rooms in her house. When the sales man came out he was really rude and short with me and my mom. He also acted like he was wasting his time with us. He told both of us he had to make this a quick stop because he had other people to go see. Because of that we almost did not hire them. He did show us some nice carpet and my mom picked out the one she wanted. My mom wanted to schedule a install time and date so we did, On the other hand when the guys came to install the carpet they were very polite and respectful. They had great communication skills with my mom. Showed up in a timely manner and installed the carpet in a timely manner. They had us move all the small stuff and they moved out and back in the rooms all the big stuff. I do not recommend the sales people but the install team was amazing. Shes had the carpet a little over a year now and it still looks as good as when they installed it.
Soft Step carpet is very easy to deal with and the company rep was extremely professional. The price was fair and comparable to their competition. The installers showed up as scheduled and removed the old carpet and installed the new in under 2 hours. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the Soft Step company service.
Our new floor is awesome! The whole first floor was leveled out and the flooring put down without any transitions. Work was completed fast and place left clean. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and very professional. I was so impressed, I recommended the company to my sister, who is having her new flooring and carpet installed this week.
We have used Bobby and team several times and the customer service and jobs were better than we ever expected. Recently, we needed a carpeting and floor job done on an expedited schedule and he made it happen. I highly recommend Soft Step Carpet!
Sure the guy who comes to measure, shows you the samples and gives your price looked like your all-american next door neighbor. Then the install is done a by couple of guys who hardly speak english. They are sub contracting the install to a motley looking bunch. The install quality was bad at the corners especially. Best of all, when they tear out your old carpet they open your upstairs windows and just heave they carpet out the window and into your yard. You then get to pick stands of carpet from your flower beds for the next few weeks.
The whole house was carpeted. The salesman person arrived on-time but the installers were 2hrs late. I had to call for ETA. Installation was good. I noticed some areas that needed to be cleaned up after they installed and left. They solved those issues quickly. They moved my furniture when installing but did not move all furniture back. Overall, they are a great company to work with. The installers were friendly, skilled and knowledgeable.
After a big box store cancelled our carpet installation just days before our open house, we were panicked! Many people told us to call Bobby. Not only did he rise to the challenge, but he stopped by my place of business, showed me samples, and had it installed in less than 30 HOURS! Our kids bedrooms were overdue for new carpet and we are thrilled that we called Soft Step Carpet to do the job! Not only was Bobby extremely professional and well spoken about carpet options, he made this a seamless process for a mom who juggles work and manages the household. Bobby came over for an in-home consultation and brought carpet samples so we could see what they look like in our kids rooms. After we decided on the best option for our style and budget, we placed the order. Within a quick 10 days we had the carpet delivered and installed by a trustworthy and clean crew from Soft Step! My only regret is that my husband and I have hardwood floors in our bedroom. Our kids are spoiled with their new carpet and padding that is fit for a king!

I met one of the owners of Soft Step 6 years or more ago while repairing his cable. I had Soft Step install carpeting shortly after that. Our carpeting has held up great. Never any issues. I would highly recommend.
Soft Step did an incredible job with our wood flooring. What was expected to take at least two days was done in one. From measuring, price quoting, scheduling to the work getting done, it all took about two weeks. I was very impressed by all aspects of Soft Step Carpet. As a remodeler, Ive used soft step carpet many times. They are always prompt on their appointments, and they have there own installers so you know you are getting the best installation. They will usually beat all competition on pricing on a comparable carpet. Tops in my book of contractors
If youre looking for carpet, dont look anywhere else! It may be tempting to go with one of the big flooring stores because they promise flashy discounts, but save yourself the time and headache and choose Soft Step Carpet right away.I recently became a first-time homeowner, and the carpets in my new home were in awful shape. I purposefully scheduled a carpet installation with one of the aforementioned big companies before I moved in. The company gave me an absurd arrival window of 8 am - 6 pm, so I took the whole day off of work. After they hadnt called or shown up by noon, I called them and was then informed that they would not be completing the installation that day. I rescheduled for the following week, and again, no show. Ill save the full details of that mess for another review.I called Soft Step, desperately hoping that they could install before I moved in. Bobby, the owner, called me back within the hour to tell me that although they couldnt install before I moved in (I only had a two day window at that point), he would be happy to come out and give me an estimate THAT DAY. He was at my home 45 minutes later with plenty of samples and a genuine smile. He was so kind, and said he understood how frustrated I was and promised to make my experience with Soft Step painless.Well, he DELIVERED. I received a call several days after I placed my order from a very pleasant man named Jay who informed me that they had my carpet in stock, and would be happy to install it the next day. Unfortunately with my work schedule I had to wait until later in the week, but that didnt stop him from calling again the day before my installation - they had a customer cancel because of the stomach flu, and offered to install my carpet early because I was next in line! Their customer service really is top-tier.Not only did Soft Step beat the price of the big company, but I got softer, nicer carpet too! They had to move my furniture since I had moved in at that point, but they took great care of my things and charged next to nothing to do so. The carpet was installed beautifully by a team of true professionals. There are no visible seams, and my walls and baseboards are in pristine condition - not a single scratch!Soft Step Carpet saved me from the nightmare of dealing with a terrible flooring company, and did so with true professionalism. We hired Softstep to lay linoleum in a kitchen and one bathroom. Both rooms are very small. The workers arrived and were not friendly and actually kind of rude. The work was substandard, it should not be hard for professionals to cut and install linoleum correctly in 2 small rooms. We complained and basically they did nothing. I feel like we gave them $1,144 for a bad installation job, (we did like the look of the linoleum, but we picked that ourselves). We will have to try to cover up their mistakes as best we can.I would like to ask the owner if he would accept this kind of work in his own home? I would never recommend this company, bad experience. Find someone else, dont use these guys.

Soft Step replaced all the carpet in my condo. They pulled all the old carpet up and replaced the carpet in one day. The carpet was replaced in 5 rooms. The sales person came to my condo, showed me samples, and gave me a price for the entire job. I came home from work on the day of the installation and had beautiful carpet in all 5 rooms. It was a great experience.

Soft Step is great! We had our entire second floor carpet replaced by Soft Step 3 years ago and had our basement carpet replaced this week. Service was fast, clean, and the new carpet looks and feels great!

2022-06-09Bobby was so kind when he came to measure, and he was quick. He helped me pick the right color carpet for my home, and even had samples ready to show. The carpet came in quickly (about two weeks) and we’re installed the same week. José And the rest of the guys installing were so kind, quick, and I felt comfortable having them in my home. They even had their own vacuum to clean up when they were done. I would definitely recommend soft touch carpet. The quality is great and they do a great job!

2021-12-10Soft Step was excellent. Bobby came out to our house to work with us on a quote and had plenty of options to choose from…all sorts of styles, colors, and price points. Once we picked a carpet, setting up installation with Dustin and his team was super easy. They were even flexible with us as we needed transition strips delivered to our house. The installation crew were super respectful and professional. They did a great job but missed one tiny seam. Since my wife and I noticed and didn’t want the seam to get worse, we contacted Dustin and he sent the crew back out 2 days later. It’s all fixed now and everything looks awesome. They were fairly priced and I would definitely use them again. They were referred to me by a friend and I’d recommend them to you!

2022-05-09Soft Step did an amazing job! As soon as my carpet was in they were able to schedule my install super fast. They did half of my full basement and the stairs in 2 hours. I couldnt believe how quick it was done. The quality is great and the installation team was super professional. I would reccomend them to everyone!

2021-11-05Not enough good things to say about Soft Step. My girlfriend and I were looking for a stair runner to replace an outdated one in the house we bought recently. When we explained to Dustin that we had not looked into carpet much and didnt know anything on the topic, he was extremely helpful and gave us guidance on the types and what to look for in certain situations, such as having a dog, and finding something that wouldnt flatten from repeated daily use. His help was the best of any place we visited, Rite Rug was not helpful at all, Levis was better, but not as in-depth. Without Dustins assistance, we wouldve been clueless about what to look for.Kevin was the installer, he was great as well, came out earlier in the week to take measurements and offer opinions on the best way to deal with some particularities with the project. After measuring Monday, the runner was ready Friday and he came back to tear out the existing and install the new one. He came and did this even though it was late on Friday and Im assuming he wanted to start his weekend, so we appreciated that. He wrapped up the entire thing in about and hour and a half to two hours, what they originally quoted.Price was great, we got a good deal on some high end material because of leftover from another job that fit perfectly with what we were looking for. The quote was significantly lower than Rite Rug (close to half), and lower than Levis. Labor costs seem to all be about the same between the three.If we need to have any other carpet or other floor work done in the future, we plan to reach out to Dustin and Soft Step first, we couldnt be happier, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. Thanks to both Dustin and Kevin for all their help!

2019-12-09We had our flooring replaced throughout the first level and carpet replaced in the basement. The entire process from start to finish was great. Dustin came out and gave us a quote as well as answered our numerous questions better than most carpet sellers Ive talked to before.He had the samples with him based on our previous conversation and we were able to pick one out the same night. We did visit the store, even if it was almost 1 hr drive away, shortly after and we were very impressed by their selection and how knowledgeable the staff was. Ive been trying to get this flooring project going for about 5 years and over this period we have gotten multiple quotes and have purchased boxes of and seen many kinds of planks and engineered wood.Choosing our new floors with Dustins guidance was easy. Scheduling was a breeze, and we are enjoying our new floors much sooner than I expected. Best Christmas present ever!The installers came out early, jumped right to work and worked very efficiently to complete the job right. Again, we were impressed by how hard-working, courteous and knowledgeable the crew was. They cleaned up after themselves and addressed all the questions we had. The workers explained things that pertained to our house and the projects at hand. I couldnt believe they got this big job done so well and so quickly.I love our new floors and its nice to have the same kind of flooring ran through the one floor versus a hodgepodge of 3 different contractor-grade types we had before.I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for great service and selection, and in fact I already refered some family and friends and send them their way.It may sound silly, but for me these floors were a dream come true and it had to do with the awesome experience thanks to Soft Step Carpet. 2021-03-24I had a wonderful experience with Soft Step Carpet. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and helped me pick and economical and beautiful carpet that fit my timeline--they were even able to add on two more rooms at the last minute. The price was right in my budget and much better than other companies. The quality of the carpet is great and makes my house look so much nicer than before. When it came time for install day, the team couldnt have been nicer. They did a great job and worked hard to get my whole house carpeted in one day. They even moved some of the furniture that was too heavy for me. I couldnt be happier.

2021-11-15I made a mistake choosing SoftStep for our carpet.Overall the carpet is probably fine and I hope we will have no issues.To describe the sales process in a single word… rushed.The installers could not have been nicer people. We weren’t watching over their shoulder, but they were busy, cheerful, and worked hard. However, in the middle of the day I noticed that the crew was wearing their shoes on top of new, white carpet. I had mentioned this as a concern in the sales process and apparently the message didn’t get through.When I called the company to discuss, I was told by two different people that the crew is going to wear their everyday shoes on top of the new, white carpet they are installing. I wasn’t concerned about the bare subfloor. The issue is shoes on top of the new carpet. Shoes the installers may wear in the yard, to the mall, in the public bathroom, etc. When I balked and suggested wearing a disposable “bootie” or slip-over covering, the owner refused and threatened to walk off the job. I was made to feel like it’s ridiculous to not want shoes someone may have worn into the gas station bathroom this morning on the brand-new carpet my child will be playing on. I’m curious what other concerns might have caused them to abandon the job?As I witnessed firsthand 8 years ago, the installers from Home Depot wore shoe coverings. This is not a new or unique idea. We recently shopped several carpet companies in Columbus, including those most people have probably heard of. I raised the issue of shoes on new carpet with each, and they all agreed. Some said their crews already have slip-over shoe coverings. Others confirmed they would use upon request. Ultimately our crew removed their shoes after they had already laid several rooms of carpet.SoftStep had been referred to us, so that carried a lot of weight. We did not try to negotiate on price. To be clear, the crew was great and clearly felt bad about being unprepared. Bottom line, you don’t expect to have both the owner of the company and his employee dismiss a concern of cleanliness by threatening to walk off the job. Its less about dirt and more about how my concern was handled.When the project finished, there’s no walkthrough, no call, no product literature, no manufacturer warranty, no follow-up. Just an emailed invoice.Frankly I could not recommend SoftStep. I assume (hope!) the carpet will be fine. Given our experience, I’m concerned if we do have issues how they’d be addressed. It’s thousands of dollars… so chose your service provider wisely.

2020-12-03Bobby was super quick to provide an in-home estimate. The price couldn’t be beat by several competitors. Install was then scheduled a few weeks out but received a call there had been a cancellation and the carpet in 3 bedrooms (+closets) was installed yesterday...8 days earlier than expected. The installers were AMAZING and I couldn’t be more happy with SoftStep! Thank you!

There were a couple bumps but our salesman and the company were amazing to work with and get our issues taken care of.All in all we were pleased and will return to get new carpet for the rest of the house soon!
