Owner Karen never is least bipartisan person you might meet. Multiple incidents over the years where management cant be held accountable for audacious, power tripping referees and overzealous players. The feeling is that they just take your money. They could allocate the funds over the years to safer turf fields. Theyre too easy to slip on. Id advise go to other soccer facilities or build your own if youre looking for a fair, less frumpy sporting facility and management.
For indoor soccer, the field is over filled with rubber, and it is basically a slip-n-slide. You cant run more than 75% speed unless you have turf shoes or want to tear your ACL since the facility doesnt allow cleats. We signed up for the worst league at this facility, and we have been routed every game. Keep in mind that nearly everyone has either played in high school or college on our team. If you are looking for a casual game or a good time, this is not the place!
I started coming here as a kid, spending lots of money, especially in the colder seasons. And now that Im older its a shame to see how this place is being run.Referring: referring is a clear problem in this facility ! Out of the seasons Ive played here there has only been one or two good/ reasonable referees out of the bunch they have officiating the games. Examples, poor to no calls on fouls, seems not to care about player safety, not keeping the games in control (fights), and letting his emotions dictate the game.Management/owner : The professionalism Within this establishment is pitiful. its extremely unprofessional when I, my teammates or anyone who wants to make a complaint to the managers is followed up by mockery, and disinterest of such complaints. When talking to Management/owners they made it clear that they have no interest in suggestions or complaints you have as a customer but rather if you dont like it then dont come here.Highly unlikely that I will suggest this soccer establishment to anyone
Love the place but they need to mark off the spot on the end of the sidewalk so cars can not park there. Ive seen many kids walk around the car parked there and into the path of on coming cars. Put up a no parking sign and yellow stripes to stop this before someone gets hurt.
Horrible reffing at this location, they don’t care about player safety whatsoever. Playing rec teams against teams with a much higher skill level isn’t fun for anyone but the guys repeatedly ripping shots at our goalie’s head from 2 feet out. Don’t play here, not worth the price or the injuries. The field is dastardly as well.
Great competitive leagues! Affordable. Only issue is the outdoor refs. They arent properly trained to handle the competitive players. Most of them really dont care about being there. Ive witnessed numerous plays that the league deems illegal and the refs wont blow the whistle. My team lost a player due to this lack of care given (lost two stars because of this) indoor is way better and the refs are more engaged.
The fields here are marked well and spaced well for movement. The only restrooms appear to be porta toilets. However for a tournament and 10:30 in the morning, they were very well maintained and had adequate paper and sanitizer. They had great food opportunities not best suited for the players and were smart to include purchase of tournament apparel, as well as professional soccer jerseys.
During the first week of playing at Soccer First (I normally play at the much better Resolute Sports Complex - highly recommend) our team played a team who only had half of a full team of original team members who then proceeded to fill the team with the best players from other teams. After complaining to management and the referee, they said they couldnt do anything after the game was done because it must be brought to their attention before the game. This was never once mentioned when I discussed it with the referee before the game started.Second week, the referee allowed the opposing team to shove and/or knock to the ground the girls on our team. When I asked the referee to make the calls and make them for both teams, he proceeded to tell management that I was harassing him. When I confronted management about this issue, no one would listen to what I was trying to say. Not the front desk receptionist, not the league manager, not the four guys standing immediately behind him. All they could do was hand me a form labeled complaint form with a date line and a comment line. Fine. I wrote down the complaint. While writing down my complaint, someone from another team playing on another field came up with a complaint about their referee. Surprise surprise. After leaving the front desk, the manager finally had the gall to show her face. When handed my complaint form, she refused to read it and asked me what the problem was. Im not sure why they asked me to write down the complaint if they werent going to read it but I explained my case anyway. After doing so, the facility manager Karen, responded with, well why dont you go play somewhere else then. So I am passing this onto everyone so they can see for themselves how their management staff feels about their patrons.Who knows what the third week has in store but I cant wait to find out. Needless to say, this will be the first and last time I will be playing at Soccer First or any sports with Sports Ohio.
Both my son and daughter have taken classes at Soccer First. The teachers are always nice and they were both excited to learn about different sports. Nice pricing for the quality of classes. My only complaint is that if there isnt enough interest in a class, they may cancel it and combine with another class.
A year ago I would have given the soccer academy a 5, however this year it seems to have gone down hill. The referees are not involved in the games. They stand by the boxes and dont move.As far as the program is concerned, the kids play on a tiny field for practices. The majority of the time they are sharing it with another team so they are now at half the tiny field. The coaches are not really involved. When it comes to games, the coach just stands in the box and doesnt do anything to help correct the kids.It could be the program is under new leadership or maybe they are working some stuff out. I would like to see some fixes made for next time. I think we may give the new no Jackson center a try.
I wish that you guys keep ALL the doors open during the indoor seasons doesnt matter if its cold/snow/windy/warm outside to get fresh air inside OR get much more fans/A.Cs!! Running inside requires so much Oxygen and sadly theres not much in there! The back door is not enough. I wish you really do that since many people there want that! Thanks

2022-04-26I have been playing soccer at SF for many (25+) years and play in 40+ and 50+. I have always enjoyed playing there and the staff has been friendly and responsive. However, couple weeks ago, I noticed and much to my surprise and surprise of all, the small fields or other unused large fields all are locked up. If there is no game or practice session, these fields are all locked up. Now, there is no place to warm up and stretch before running. For those over 50, they understand it take little time to warm up and cannot just show up and play. Warming up and stretching on concrete is not practical not to mention hitting some balls. I hope Soccer First management/owner recognizes the risk with injury due to lack of proper and adequate warm up. I like to continue to play at SF and management will reconsider their decision.

2021-05-02So this soccer complex is on the edge of Dublin and plain city Ohio and it is by far awesome. As you can see it’s really nice well-kept very well-maintained and above all the concession stand sells beer and wine.By the concession area has a second story observation platform which is unfortunately closed currently due to Covid but that does not listen experience or the greatness of this place. This place has indoor and outdoor field and it is massive.

2022-04-26I have played at Soccer First for over 20 years and have left 5 star reviews in the past. It is inane that the mini fields are physically locked on league nights when no one is scheduled to use them. Warming up is a crucial element to playing soccer and we now have no space to warm up prior to a game. This is a selfish and shortsighted move by the ownership. Please reopen these fields and I will gladly amend my review.

2021-08-13Best maintained outdoor fields in Central Ohio area! Suffers from refs who do not pay attention to the game and appear to only be there to collect a check, not all of them, but too many. Wish more teams were there for the love of the game, good exercise, as well the social interaction of rec adult league soccer. Over emphasis on physical play and reclaiming missed childhood glory impacts ability to enjoy the games.

2021-10-12This company is one of the worst when it comes to hiring referees. They constantly show up late and extremely unprofessional when it comes to calling a game. For one of the championship games, they failed to secure a single referee!! How does that happen for a CHAMPIONSHIP GAME?? Instead they bring along some dude in sweat pants and a hoodie, like they just called their cousin Johnny who played soccer in high school! And here’s the kicker (pun intended).. the so called “ref” states that since he’s not only ref, he’s “not going to call offsides”!? If you’re looking for a sports provider for soccer, I would highly recommend looking somewhere else. Absolutely terrible.

2020-12-08With 3 boys playing soccer, weve been coming here for years. Always been a good facility run by people who are trying their best to give you a good experience. We just left from a game, and I was very happy to see someone walking around sanitizing everything in sight, for the entire duration we were there! Another example that theyre doing the best they can. Just wish Grove City was a little closer! Haha.

2021-03-14Refs are untrained. Saw a game played tonight where an incorrect call was questioned by a player resulting in a goal (the ball hit the net and was therefore out of bounds) ref then threatened to ASSAULT the player that questioned him. Management got involved and did nothing. Allowed the ref to finish the game even after requests for a new ref. These refs have a history of behavioral issues in the past of threatening bodily harm towards players and even told a player to go kill themselves! I would NEVER send children here to learn soccer or to play games with the horrible behavior they will encounter from the refs. It is NOT safe !!!

2021-01-09One of the best places in Columbus to learn soccer for U3-U6 (2-5 year olds). Their program works specifically on touch and basics of soccer and the coaches are great. All four of my kids started here.
