I really want to try their Q, but I cant stop putting this meat lovers pizza in my face hole. God is this thing good. The meat is fantastic, the sauce is sweet, and compliments the toppings extremely well, and the crust is on time. The crust under the pizza has a difficult time supporting the weight of the mound of meat and cheese, but I dont know if it would be worth the risk to play around with this thing. Amazing.Went there 10-30-18 for the meat lovers pizza (of course) and we also got the burnt ends app. The pizza was amazing, but the burnt ends werent actually burnt ends, it was basically just a slice of brisket wrapped in bacon. Im not saying it wasnt super tasty, but if youre expecting actual burnt ends youll be a little disappointed. The BBQ sauce was really good and the fried onions straws on top was a nice touch.
The ribs were great, smokey and good sauce. The brisket was literal garbage. No flavor, mix of big tough chunks and tiny pieces, no flavor or smokiness. Had some kind of gross gravy and a tiny bit of BBQ sauce on top. The pack of buns was also disappointing, hard and fell apart trying to eat a sandwich with them, tasteless bread, maybe old.
Just spent $79 on 3 pulled pork dinners, 1/2 slab ribs, and nachos. Pulled pork was so dry and tough like leather or beef jerky. Zero smoke flavor or ring as advertised. Second time here and second batch of bad food. We literally tossed all but the ribs and 2 sides of baked beans in the trash. $79 in the garbage and I drove from Mentor to get it. Never again.
First visit but not the last! Chicken wings were fall off the bone fantastic. Pulled pork was very tender but needed more sauce. Coleslaw was great. Ribs had the perfect smoke and sauce is amazing. Ordered by phone since the online was not available. While picking up order, the dining area was bigger than I thought it would be.
BBQ brisket and pork was ok, could use more flavor/seasoning, chicken tasted like it was reheated and old. BBQ sauce taste like ketchup with smoke flavor. Beans had no seasoning or flavor, Added bbq sauce to try and make it taste like something, coleslaw taste like a jar of mayo was in it and had too many green onions, over powered the taste of the slaw. Service was less than desirable, waitress came to my table literally 45 seconds after serving me, asking if everything was good, then never returned, went to every other table multiple times except for me. Drink was empty for about 25minutes, then finally came to my table with the bill and finally asked if I wanted a refill, said no, I’m leaving. Place wasn’t too busy either.
Poor food and poor service. I received undercooked and disgusting baked beans. I informed the waitress she apologized but wouldn’t replace them. I assumed they would be taken off my bill but they weren’t. I told the manager ok the way out he shrugged his shoulders and said ok. Prices way too high for old BBQ. It taste like they use liquid smoke more than their smokers.
We got the special for the day which was a half rack of ribs and 2 sides. The ribs were cold and very tough to get off the bone. I wouldnt call the sweet tea, sweet. The ranch had a very strong taste of vinegar. The only good part was the fries, they were good and a very big helping.
Was a place we visited whenever we are out that way 4 or 5 times a year... not likely to go back as we waited patiently for a table while the cashier argued with a customer about pulled pork sandwiches and their price .. Left after standing there for 10 minutes and being asked if we needed a table but no one could figure out how to get us past the argument at the register . . So we and another customer just left
Update: 01/21/2022. I dont know what happened to this place. Ate there today, and the food tasted ok, but everything was cold. Also took some food home and ate it later and it caused me to be sick. Im thinking the pork in the nachos might not have been cooked right or something, but it was about 30 seconds between something doesnt feel right and projectile vomiting. I wish i were kidding or exaggerating.Old review:Good food, reasonable price. Wait staff is on the ball and friendly.
Had dinner a couple times when first opened and was great but just ordered take out of just brisket and pulled pork, pork was very dry and hardly any sauce on it. Will try again but just hoping for 30.00 its better next time. Maybe wont order the beginning of the week as it seems to of been leftovers from the weekend.
The brisket is overcooked. I get the impression they just reheat leftovers from previous day. It was like rubber covered in something lesser than ketchup. I thought the first time I went they had an off day, so we tried them again. It was as equally disgusting. The beans were just okay. Who knows their pulled pork may be good, but Ill never know because I refuse to give this dive another chance. Do not let the reviews fool you like they did us.
Really solid brisket sandwich. Barbecue sauce was good, the coleslaw was crunchy, and the fries were seasoned very well. I like my brisket cooked at a little bit lower temperature with a lot more Smoke & Spice, but this is still a really good meal. The cheesecake and Brownie dessert was good. It was a bit too rich for my liking, what again if I wasnt so full from a sandwich, probably would have liked it more.
If I were rating based on this to-go trip I would give them 2 stars. The baked potato seems like its yesterdays leftover then re-baked. It was way overdone but hard. The medium brisket burger was burnt to a crisp (well done inside). On the plus side, the bbq chicken and fries were really good. Dining in is always a good experience. Just seems like food quality has taken a back seat since the restaurant sold.
This local eatery has some of the best bbq Ive ever tasted locally (NE Ohio). The flavors accent the meat, not over power it. I had their brisket burger and it was actually cooked how I requested (medium rare) with the middle still pink. The burger was juicy and the brisket tender. Great taste and portions are perfect.
My expectations was let down. Out of all that I had the french fries was the only good item I had. The burrito didnt taste right, the lemonade tasted like water, the Sprite tasted like seltzer water. I took home the Brunswick stew and if I didnt have high blood pressure that sure would have given it to me, it was very salty. Me and my wife like going out and eating at new places. I sad to have travel from Cleveland to have experience this. This is one place we will never go again.
This was our 1st visit here. The restaurant was clean and the server was tentative. Most of our food was ok, but had issues with our brisket chili, it was dry and pasty with just beans and bbq sauce, no brisket in it, more like left over bbq bean chili, wasted $10 on 2 bowls. The burgers were good, but only had 1 strip of bacon and the buns were big and dried out. The fries were the best part of the meal. Desert was good. Left the server a good tip because she was nice. I may be willing to give this place another try, not sure though. (This was the Painesville, OH, Bacon Rd. location) 10/23/20
My wife and I eat here all the time. The food is amazing. The people that work here treat you like family even if you dont eat here all the time. I really like the riblets and the rosemary fries. The house salad dressing is the best I have ever had you have to try it, youll be hooked. We truly love this place, you will too!
This place has really good BBQ and their sauce is great! I highly recommend the bacon wrapped burnt ends. The ribs are really good and the brisket is to die for. You can smell the smokey goodness as soon as you walk in the door! I highly recommend smoke if you are looking for some good smoked BBQ!
This family owned and operated restaurant features very good traditional style BBQ ribs, chicken and brisket. Portions are generous, and food quality is consistently good. Side dishes are equally delicious and offer normal and premium selections.Service is always top notch. In addition to traditional BBQ offerings, they offer terrific pizzas and gourmet burgers. Beer and wine offerings are reasonably priced. All In all, a good value.Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.
LOVE Smoke!! We travel about an hour and a half to get to Smoke. And it is definitely worth it!!! We have gone 4 times so far since the beginning of the year and cant wait to go again! Fantastic ribs, large portions and friendly attentive staff! Try their Homemade Potato Chips and the ribs!!!!
This place kNOWs what they are doing with meats as they are tender and juicy, not to mention that the smell is amazing as soon as you hit the door. What is missing is the southern flavors of good cooking when it comes down to the vegetables as they are bland and lack the kick needed to complement the amazing smoky meats.Super clean restaurant and deserves a visit just to experience great BBQ meat.
Best BBQ this side of the Mississippi. Everything is fantastic. Never had a bad meal at this restaurant and Im there at least three times a week! Highly recommend literally everything on the menu. Cant go wrong with this place. Great service and friendly owners. They do Parties and Weddings too!
Oh my goodness, Sunday was my first time in and it took me back in time to Famous Daves BBQ in Tennessee = its just as Smoky delicious, so I was there again today and I was not disappointed and our waitress Lisa was as helpful and friendly. Thank you for your menu and Catering, Awesome :O).
Love their pulled pork and beef brisket. Their french fries are fresh cut and seasoned with rosemary, delicious and a huge portion. Hamburgers are Angus and delicious. Staff is friendly service is usually good although can slow down a bit when very busy. Have been their many times and continue to go back.
This place is sneaky. It is in a totally unassuming location, but it is AWESOME! Everything we had here was delicious! It was so good we came here two days in a row.Our waitress was absolutely delightful, very helpful with our questions, and had wonderful suggestions.Just realized that this place is on bacon road...well played sir, well played.
The service was immaculate! Our waitress offered us drinks when we sat down and kept them full throughout our visit. She was very cheerful and checked on us every time she passed our table. While we were looking at the menu, she offered us a highly recommended appetizer, which was bacon wrapped brisket ends. Omg they weremelt in your mouth delicious ! I got a half rack of ribs and my boyfriend got a pork burrito. Both were SOOOOO good! The mac n cheese with bacon was delicious too! It was definitely worth the drive and we will be returning, no doubt about it! This place definitely lived up to all these reviews on here. The kids were very satisfied as well!
$13.99 for beef brisket dinner is probably in line with what other similar establishments charge and for the portions you get its worth the price.Unfortunately , that is not brisket. It is exactly as advertised , 100% certified Angus beef ; as in roast beef , that came to the table cold with very little BBQ sauce drizzled on top. Good thing they brought out an extra bottle.Taste of my brisket , fries and onion rings was just ok. Im a little more than mildly disappointed.Good news : fast service and large food potions.Bad news : fast kitchen service with barely room temperature food.
If you blink, you might miss this place, but dont be fooled by its humble exterior. Smoke BBQ is fantastic. The decor is texas meets mom and pops and the first thing I noticed was the delicious smoke smell and next the cozy atmosphere. I got the brisket mac n cheese special and my fiance ordered a half slab of ribs and a loaded baked potato. My brisket was melt in your mouth and the BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy while the mac n cheese made me want to lick my plate. My portion was huge and Ill be taking home enough for two more meals. My fiances ribs were tender and juicy. His potato was giant and delicious. We are definitely coming back!! On a side note....many of the people around us ordered the hand-cut fries and the portions were huge! We will definitely try those next time.
We arrived at 7:30pm and it wasnt busy at all, we were seated right away and the server way very friendly. We ordered and got our food in good time (brisket and pulled pork was good)....but then they started to fill up. At least 5 more tables filled up and our server was the only one for the entire restaurant. After our food was delivered, she never came back to ask if everything was ok/good OR to refill our drinks (we had to ask for refills). My husband got mac & cheese as a side dish that wasnt very good (macaroni wasnt cooked all the way). Even when she saw we were done with the meal, she took the dishes WITHOUT asking how the meal was and he had to tell her about the mac & cheese....all she said was really?...she left the check and said she would take it up for us. She was so busy with all the other tables, she never came back so we just took the check up and paid ourselves.Bottom line...things would have been fine if there was more that ONE server for the entire restaurant...service really went down hill!
As I have been a working chef in the past, I typically cannot eat out because most restaurants have poor recipes and poor execution of good recipes. Whats unique about this place is that I cant knock the recipes. Someone knows what theyre doing in the kitchen. I can eat at Smoke Bbq and enjoy food prepared correctly. I really respect a place that can pull that off and not charge an arm and a leg. Good stuff. Entire menu is solid.
Disappointed tonight. One of our favorite places. But we noticed since it was sold the food really isnt all that good anymore. Way over cooked. My husband said his food was old tasting. My riblets were tough as shoe leather. Waitress was kind of old and a little loud mouthy. Place use to be packed but the last few times we were there it wasnt busy at all. Hope the new owners and cook get back to the original recipes and stop cutting corners.
Awesome BBQ they won’t let ya down.. The pork Burrito is to rave.. Ribblett dinner good!!! Burnt ends, brisket the chips Rock.. I suggest order them plain and either salt or season yourself.. Rosemary a touch much.. Fresh cut fries the list goes on.. 5 stars on the yum meter
I came here after one of my favorite bbq places moved and I have pleasantly surprised about the quality of the Bbq here. I have been back about 6 times and the food was exactly the same every time! Perfection!!! Serving staff is also very friendly and Personal. Love it here and I will continue to support local business!!
Smoke is the best bbq joint in the area, but the new owner is making changes which arent for the better. The mac and cheese was improved with a white cheese sauce taken from their pasta special. It doesnt work as well as the original. Also, theyve transitioned to using tin trays like so many other bbq places which just seems too copy cat. The portions also seem to be smaller. I hope with the recent new location opening the new management isnt feeling like making changes for changes sake. Fix the portions and ditch the foo-foo mac and cheese. As an update the classic mac and cheese is available on request. As for the old school option.
I like the food here a lot, decent prices, the staff is nice from my experience. The big complaint is the place is always smoke filled. I dont know if their vent is weak or broken, but i leave after eating smelling like i stood over a camp fire. Thats the only down side from my experience and Ive eaten here over 10 times.
Burnt ends werent even brisket, strip steak. Ribs over cooked pulled pork was chunked and brisket was so tuff I was actually stretching like a gummy worm. They changed recipes and has drastically gone downhill. The biggest disappointment was the corn bread. Added Cinnamon and sugar on top which ruined the whole reason o ordered it
Okay ill start out by saying im a little bias. I come from the bbq capital so I know good bbq. This... This wasnt good. Ordered the loaded bbq mash for starters. Portions were of a good size. But the oullpork that was put on it was dry as jerky. The beans were still very tough and hard. No biggie was still good. Then for my side I ordered mac n cheese.... There was no shortage of cheese. Was not bad but wasnt all that great. I ordered the roast beast... That was a mistake. It was like chewing flavorless boot straps. Meat was tough not tender. The bottom of the but may as well been nonexistant. The bbq sause was okay rather watery and heavy in the ketchup flavor. Prices were to bad thou. Prolly wont return.
Bbq in NC is the best but if one lives in Ohio, one has Smoke. It is highly passable. They just need hot vinegar and wed be set. Where they really excel is their corn on the cob! You will die and go to heaven! The waitress says some come and eat three ears! I can see that. I could do that! Ribs were good.Big bbq sandwich w cole slaw, bacon, and onion straws was good. French fries are thin and get cold easily. Baked potato was huge! And finally, we had the lemon berry mascarpone cake and rolled out the door.
Had the steak tacos today, chef specialty, never tasted anything like them...the tomatoes and celontro played tricks on me, so fresh, I asked myself, I thought this was a bbq joint...right? Totally recommend the daily special, 100% satisfied with the prices, atmosphere, server engagement and recommendations top notch...and the fresh cut sweet potato fries will knock your socks off!

2022-03-31My mother loves bbq and my best friend enjoys this place a lot, so I took my mother here for lunch. To note: if youre going to dine in, the inside is a bit cramped and wouldnt be fun on a packed evening.Service was fine, as quick as it could be with just the one lady working the front and the tables. We got the pulled pork eggrolls to start as well as two pulled pork dinners. I got bacon mac and cheese and mashed potatoes for my sides while my mother got onion rings and a baked potato.Pulled pork eggrolls were whatever. They tasted fine, but not really worth the money for only two of them. The dinners were very nice. The bbq is a little tangy or vinegary, so keep that in mind. The pulled pork for both of us was perfect. Not dry, not burnt, not fatty. Mashed potatoes were great, had a lot of flavor. Mac and cheese was way too cheesy and was not very flavorful. My mothers onion rings were great, but the baked potato was tough in spots. We also got 2 cannolis to go which we both agreed were very good.Overall, we enjoyed our time there and both said we would try it again sometime!(As a final note, after talking to my friend, she suggests trying the beef brisket flatbread appetizer, french fries, and baked beans)

2022-02-10Really looked forward to this, ratings looked good. We got nachos for the appetizer, dry rubbery cold pork, and not enough toppings for all the chips. We were hoping the brisket was good, but was obviously reheated from the previous day, very dry and cut with the grain forcing us to use a knife. They drowned it in bbq sauce to cover it up, but the brisket itself had no flavor. The atmosphere was nice, and the waitress was nice, but 3 stars is generous.

2022-05-29The egg rolls are a must, the coleslaw was so good. The pulled pork was so flavorful without even needing to add sauce. The bacon mac and cheese was delicious. The fries were no slouch, very tasty.

2021-11-18Wasn’t bad but also wasn’t the greatest! I ordered the pulled pork dinner with mash potatoes and a side salad..pulled pork could’ve had atleast a little more bbq on it or on the side, potatoes were good but the side salad was ridiculous! Wish I would’ve ordered a different side.

2022-03-20I ordered through Doordash and the second i opened the bag I was overwhelmed with the smell of smoked meat. The riblets are super tender, the bacon wrapped burnt ends is a good size strip off the end of the brisket wrapped in bacon, grilled and sliced, the green beans are garlicky and delicious and the sauce has just enough tang to compliment everything. The prices match the portions and Im definitely going back.

2022-06-18Best bbq place me and my husband have ever been to and eaten at. I’d definitely give them a 10 out of 10 and we’ll be definitely coming back again soon.

2020-10-16First time here. We got the combo to try a little of everything. Ribs were very tough and we would not get again. Chicken and turkey was just average. Salad was below expectations but the fries were on point! Service was GREAT so big thumbs up there! Overall, unlikely to come again but glad we tried it out.
