Every so often you have the good fortune to have one of life’s little gems placed in your path. On a recommendation from my co-workers, that is how I discovered Simply Sweet Bakery and Coffees in Newark. First, let us talk about the aroma that greets you upon entering. With the items baked daily, you will get an aromatic sense of the deliciousness that is about to come your way. The selection is fantastic! Coffee, cookies, doughnuts, muffins, scones, and more are there for the choosing. And while the aroma is something special – the treats are even better. The Chocolate Chip cookie and Chocolate Donut should be at the top of your list for your first round.Recently, they made a cake for our business organization to place in a charity auction. They looked absolutely amazing!Josey has crafted an impeccable bakery that puts a focus on taste and quality. Her friendly demeanor and the modern design that she employed for the shop makes Simply Sweet… simply perfect! Even living 25 miles away, I will be a regular customer! 🍩

Wonderful chocolate chip cookies, and delicious lattes! My favorite item so far has been the chocolate pecan scone. There are several bakery’s that make scones that simply don’t get the texture right, but the ones at Simply Sweet are perfect! Looking forward to trying more things! The owner is fast at making drinks and friendly! Check this place out!

Nice selections of sweets with variety of coffee beverages. Buy local!A return trip meant trying the cinnamon buns - icing is one of the best I have ever tasted - kudos!

Ive had two items so far. The chocolate chip cookie was the bomb and today I had the toasted coconut cupcake and it was the perfect amount of sweet, moist, and coconut. This place is amazing and I will be visiting again!

I paid nearly 7 dollars for a 6 inch cherry “pie” that was 80 percent streusel and perhaps two tablespoons of actual CHERRY filling. I think if you’re going to label something as a “pie,” it should actually contain some of the fruit listed. I couldn’t be more disappointed with this one. I’m only glad I didn’t put down 13 dollars (plus tax) for a full-sized example. I like to try and support local area businesses but this was a bad decision all around. Maybe your regular, non-“crisp,” pies are better but this was like eating a bowl of dry granola with a tablespoon of cherry jam on top.
