Hands down best shop in Cleveland... professional. honest. and they stand behind their work. I have had multiple things done with my jeeps that i JUST CANT DO. and Simons has been amazing. Thanks to Aaron, Chris, Simon, and all the guys there. Great shop - real professionals.
Simon’s is the best place for regular car maintenance. They are scrupulously honest, never overcharging and never doing extra, unnecessary work. You know that your problem is fixed and you will not have to bring the car back in for corrections. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. This last time they were able to shoehorn me into a very busy schedule without inconveniencing anyone else and did top quality work in record time. I would never take my car anywhere else.
Service by the team at Simons is very thorough. Scheduled to wait for an oil change and inspection. During Covid times, only one customer can wait at a time, so you need to schedule well in advance, but the wait is worth it. Quality repairs and honest feedback about what needs to be done. Im confident that car is ready and safe for my son to drive to work this summer. I highly recommend Simons.
I was stuck in the Cleveland area trying to make it home to Columbus for the holidays. Simon’s was able to diagnose and fix my problem quickly and get me back on the road. From walking in the door to phone conversations and picking up my car, they are professional and friendly. They took the time to explain everything to me in terms I could understand. HIGHLY recommend. They know what they are doing and great at doing it!
Simons was great. Have taken in my old Honda Civic several times there, for fixing an oil leak, brake inspection, and problem with the starter. They communicated clearly, gave me options for the repairs, and did good work that finished on time. This is my go-to auto shop in the heights.
Simon and his guys are always honest, accommodating and I always feel they are on top of it. Auto mechanics, plumbers, dentist, electricians and vetinarians, they got you. So you can only hope that you get a honest one. Simons is definitely honest. And I only go to him, and fir years I have
My car had been making several noises when braking and the last time I visited a mechanic about the issue, they couldn’t find anything wrong with my car. I tried to ignore it for a while but passengers would constantly comment on the sound and I was getting nervous about driving home for the holidays. I took it to Simon’s for a second opinion and they were able to diagnose and fix the issue at a very reasonable price. They were incredibly thorough and took my car on multiple test drives with several technicians in order to diagnose the issue. My drive home afterwards was the quietest I’ve experienced in months and gave me peace of mind.
Update: the team at Simons continues to take care of me and my car. Quality of service and value for the peace of mind they offer is priceless.Simon,Steve, Tank, Chris and their crew have been taking care of my cars for many years and always do a great job. They offer great pricing and speedy service. They give honest input on repairs that need immediate attention vs. things that can wait or are not urgent. Ill keep taking my cars to them for years to come.
When our former automotive business closed, they recommended Simons. We have not been disappointed. Simons has checked small things and fixed them at no cost. They have serviced our cars, following the dealers recpmmendations, and have kept them in good running order at reasonable costs.
Ongoing problems with my check-engine light constantly staying or coming on, Simons gave me necessary information to try to get it fixed! I can call them about ANYTHING and they are patient, kind, and understanding! They do everything in their power to make each service visit better than previous service visit! They are the BEST mechanics I have had to date!I have felt that men at other shops tend to take advantage of women, but that is not my experience with Simons. Even if it meant they might lose business, they still helped me get my ongoing car problems fixed right. I feel like I am treated like family!
Simons auto has been taking care of my Kia Sorento for 3 years now. They replaced my damaged splash cover with zip ties for free which was amazing. It did eventually fall all the way off and Simons auto gave me a really reasonable price and replaced it a week later. They have also been monitoring my cars problem with burning through oil too fast. They are honest, professional, and Im so glad they are just around the corner!
When I moved to the Cleveland area, Simon’s was the first place recommended to me. I’ve trusted them with my automotive needs for two years and have appreciated their services. I’m not a car-savvy person, but the technicians have answered my questions and helped me understand any issues with my car.
I’ve been going to Simon and his team for over ten years, with multiple cars (Volvo, Honda, Toyota, Subaru) and they are always amazing—they explain what the issue is, and whether it will impact safety or cause further damage (do now), or can be addressed when convenient. And they’ve gone above and beyond locating used but perfectly good parts to save money. They have never been wrong, and their estimate of time needed in the shop is accurate and honest. I trust their assessments and recommendations, and have found their prices to be very competitive. And I’ve never had a timeliness problem getting a service appointment. I highly recommend Simon’s!
I called asking for a service...i am taking a rim there to put a tire on it...no excess work like lifting car or using power tools to remove lug nuts..just an old tim with old flat tire to replace the tire, 215 70 p15 numeration...you know they want to maximize profit when they ask about a car year make and model...irrelevant for a rim that needs a tire and having the numeration...the estimate was $145...1 star for being a sneaky thinking every customer is stupid...see they do not need car information because you have all relevant information with tire numeration...a rim job and you cant even deliver properly...and for that price...walmart cot goodyears for 60👍👨🦯💨💨💨
Have been taking my vehicles to Simons for probably over 10 years now and I have never been disappointed. They are friendly and knowledgeable. If you tend to keep your vehicle for a long time like I do, they will give an honest assessment of your vehicle as to whether its worth fixing or not. I would highly reccommend Simons.
This time I went for a B1 service (a Honda thing) which is a lot of general maintenance, oil change, and looking at a a lot of different possible problems. My car is from 2009 so its good to get it checked out. My car was in great shape, needed a couple of fluids topped off, which I credit to going to them regularly. Theyve kept my car going on Cleveland roads for 13 years.Great place. Honest, fast, they actually listen to you. Most importantly I trust them. They do not jump to a high cost repair and have told me and I’ve heard them tell others “you don’t need that.”They’re quick too and really know the ins and outs of my Honda (what tends to break when, etc.).
Chose Simon’s based on great reviews including claims that they treat women fairly. Sadly not my experience. Did not address the problem which would have been a relatively easy & inexpensive fix. Would not even give an estimate. Instead wanted to know what the car was worth to “me” and recommended unnecessary unrelated expensive repairs instead. New to the area & went in thinking I’d found a car mechanic I could rely on. Very disappointed!
They did necessary repairs to sustain my and my grandkids lives, Im sure, by the way my Benz performance is now. Truly fabulous, definite reasonable prices and the care and personality of Simon Automotive is worth it. Truly unbelievable how my car runs after they completed their recommendations. I love it!
We have been coming to Simons for a couple years now. They are consistently thorough and honest. Customer service and communication are excellent, and they explain complex car issues extremely well. Recently, I brought my car to Simons for an oil leak problem. A day into what was to be a 2-3 day job, Chris called to let me know the source of the issue was not what it was originally thought to be, and that theyd be able to resolve the problem for roughly one-half the originally quoted price estimate!
My mother has used Simon’s for years and she recommended I use him too. We have a family business and we always recommend Simon’s to our employees when they have car troubles. My car was kept there for only a couple days, the workers were polite and personable, and I had my car back to me with NO more issues in a timely manner. Thanks! :)
My Chrysler hardtop convertible is 10 years old , has 48,000 miles and is in excellent condition and I intend to drive it many more years. Obviously, the extended warranty ran out years ago and I needed to find service that I could trust not to take advantage of my lack of mechanical knowledge. In 2018, I began to take my car to Simon’s for regular maintenance and since then they have replaced the brakes and the tires and recently Replaced an oil pressure gage and removed corrosion on a wheel rim that was causing the tire to lose air. Simon diagnosed the problem quickly and returned the car promptly. I have confidence in the expertise and integrity of this company and recommend them highly.
I had a flat tire in the middle of a busy morning. Luckily, i was 2 min away from Simon’s. Fast, efficient and honest, they ordered me a new tire and put on a spare within 15 min. They understood my need for the new tire to come asap as i drive daily with kids. Tire arrived in a week, and as before, i was in an out in 15 min with the brand new tire!
I have had steady success at Simon’s. A recent transmission/drive shaft issue was thoroughly assessed and then Chris reviewed a number of options financially. Updates were ongoing during the timely repair and I was (as always) updated about possible future car issues. The staff are courteous and attentive. I will continue to patronize Simon’s, our family is confident in the dependability of our cars.
Simon and his crew are awesome. They are professional & friendly. They are also good at explaining whatever problems you have with your vehicle. They repair your vehicle in a timely manner. I recently had my SUV repaired and now it driving like its brand new. They also text you and ask you how your vehicle is driving. Now thats customer service. I would definitely recommend people to go Simons Auto Services.
Great service! Had my car towed the other night after a break down on the road. They were able to give me a full break down in detail over the phone (sending a link with photos) of what happened. Shout out to Rich. He was helpful and patient throughout the entire process.
Came to get my truck ran to see if it was a good truck or not and they took my spark plug out cleaned it and stripped the spark plug and now I have to get it rethreaded and they didn’t tell me it was stripped due to them using an electric socket removal so now I’m paying money to get it done and they could’ve fixed the issue because it was they mistake but didnt ‼️ (They do sneaky work make helly mistakes just to not say anything)
We love Simon’s and appreciate their good service and honesty! They are always patient and willing to explain a repair and help us prioritize what is critical vs what may need to be done a few months down the road. We used to live right down the road and initially went to Simon’s because it was conveniently located, but we have since moved further away and still go back there because we know and trust their great work. Thank you guys!
I was going on a roadtrip and my ac evaporator drain had clogged, resulting in water running into my passenger wheelwell. Simon’s got me in 8 am the morning after I called, despite the fact that they’re usually booked out at least a week in advance. I went back for new brakes and was pleased with the professional, well-priced work at Simon’s. If you live in Cleveland Heights and need auto work done, this is the place to go!
As always a great experience at Simon’s Automotive. This family run business knows how to take care of their customers. I have been using them for nearly 6 years on the recommendation of a friend and I haven’t looked back. I travel past at least 10 other shops to come here. Their work is always top notch, efficient, and fairly priced. I would strongly recommend for any and all your automotive needs.
I have been a customer of Simons Auto Services for many years and have been very satisfied with the quality of their service. I have used Simons for everything from routine oil changes, inspections, battery and headlight replacements, to alternators, exhaust, and brake work. The work is always done right and at a fair price. I appreciate that Simon takes the time to explain repairs in laymans terms and lets me know if there are any different repair options. They also have a modern facility with a clean, comfortable waiting area...so if you need to wait to pickup your car, everything is nice....real, real nice. :)

I read somewhere that if youre looking for a good place to buy coffee, you go to the place thats always busy. This seems to hold true in the automotive service industry as well!Ive been getting my auto work done at Simons for a little over a year now, and Ive been thrilled with their service every time. They are friendly, professional, and they get the job done. And theyre always pretty fast, too, despite the fact that there are rarely more than one or two empty spaces in their parking lot.Thank you, Simon and team!
I love using them. They always take care of all of my cars. Theyre always so friendly and professional. I love that when I come in they know me by name, face and car. They always take good care of you. They never try to make you spend more than you have to. if your vehicle needs a lot of work, theyll summarize whats most important and what could maybe wait until next time. They do what they need to do, and they do it right the first time. And if you ever feel like something is wrong, theyll look into it for you.
I take all my cars to Simon’s because of their expert and friendly service. They always go above and beyond what I ask for.I get my oil changes done there because the price is good and they always check out the other parts of the car. They are great about checking things that don’t “feel” or “sound” right without making you feel like your being inconvenient. With cars getting more complicated it’s great to have mechanics you can trust!
The best experience Ive had with any mechanic anywhere ever. I was traveling cross country when my van began having issues. All in a period of 5 hours: I called the shop, brought it in, Simon and his team were able to diagnose the issues, they ordered 2 replacement parts, both replacement parts arrived, AND they installed the parts and sent me on my way! Ive never experienced such amazing customer service, and the van is running like new. If I lived in Cleveland Id bring my vehicle to this shop for the rest of my life, way to go guys.
I wish that there was a choice on this review that wasnt only on time, but more like, The Simons crew works so efficiently, they actually save YOU time! They manage their customers efficiently, handling easy, quick repairs before complicated ones, getting you the heck out the door. They are willing to take a moment and explain exactly what theyre doing to your vehicle, in easy to understand terms for the non-mechanically-inclined.
So far Ive have two cars that needed work done and I decided to try Simons Auto. Well it was definitely well worth it. They might be on the pricey side but they explain so much to whats wrong with your car and how to fix it that it makes spending the money worth it. The staff is very knowledgeable, nice and helpful. Definitely will be taking my vehicles back to Simons Auto!
I have dealt with Simon’s Automotive for many years. They have serviced foreign and domestic cars for me....including my ‘67 Mustang. They always do a top notch job. Friendly, professional work at reasonable prices. I always know what needs to be done and the cost. No surprises. Highly recommended. DB
Everyone at Simon’s is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Chris is mainly the person I communicate with the most and he’s super helpful and has always been very up front and honest about the work that needs to be done. The work they do is high quality and reasonably priced- I won’t go anywhere else.
Simon’s is responsive, reliable, thorough, helpful and friendly. I have had them work on two of my cars - most recently my Jeep - battery, brakes, lights, oil change and have found I can rely on them to give it to me straight to answer all my questions and to take the time to explain things that I don’t understand about cars without making me feel like I am a bother. I highly recommend them.
My first visit to Simon Auto was impressive. I experienced a calm sense of professionalism, warm conversation, and straightforward information - no hype, no upsell, no schmoozing, no arm-twisting. In particular I was impressed with Chris at the service desk. Good smile, steady, friendly, plain explanations, solid information. Took me back to the bay to inspect the car, explained what they found, what they wanted to do, and why. Real good job. Good communication from beginning to end. Everything done in workmanlike fashion. Top rate.
Took my car for an oil change, coolant flush, and car inspection. Total came out 270 dollars. They told me after I would need a timing belt change.. wondering if they actually inspected the car because on the timing belt cover it indicates the part had been replaced. It’s quick and good shop. But it’s massively over priced.
Theres a big monster, about the size of godzilla, coming to take off the oil drain plugs from you cars! Not really, but this is what crossed my mind when I tried to remove the oil drain plugs from TWO cars previously serviced by Simons. I often do my oil changes, but while in University Circle for two years, I didnt have a space. So I took it to Simons. I found them to be clean, timely, and generally a bit pricey, but not terribly bad. However, now that Im back to doing my own service, it seems that Simons staff put on the oil drain plugs with impact wrenches and torqued them so that this imaginary big drain plug crazed monster couldnt steal the used motor oil from under the car! I exaggerate, of course, but seriously - its a good thing the threads were not stripped, but it took a breaker bar and a lot of muscle to get off drain plugs that shouldnt have been. When I went to the auto supply store to get additional tools to get the plugs off, the manager there said, I used to run a shop and have fired techs for doing that. Nobody should be fired, but certainly some training seems appropriate. On a separate note, I filed for a rebate on tires I bought from Simons, and it was quite the ordeal. The manufacturer said the paperwork provided by Simons didnt contain enough information for them to verify the tires purchased and therefore refused the rebate. I had to work with them for quite a while to get a rebate. So, in summary, too much torque, too little info on paper. I dont need to go back there, but if I did, I would certainly shop around.
I have a 2015 Kia Optima and have used this company on two different occasions. My car was scheduled and promptly seen and serviced. I was notified quickly of the things that were of issue. I greatly appreciated the pointing out of urgent and nonurgent matters. Thanks Simons staff for your impeccable service.
Once you find trustworthy and competent mechanics, you keep them. And weve been trusting Simons for years to keep our cars running and safe. If they say it doesnt need fixing (rare for a mechanic to say that), then it really doesnt need fixing. And if they say it does, it really does. And their work is done well and reasonably priced. If they can fix a part rather than buy an expensive replacement, they will .
We were referred to Simons from another shop and have been using them ever since. They are excellent mechanics and let us know what might be going next on every repair to prepare us. They have superb customer service and their pricing is fair. They always listen to us and work hard to find the issue causing problems. They have also done a new car inspection for us on an older model used car and let us know when the car is too dangerous to drive or not worth fixing any more. Definitely a good place to take your car.
This repair facility is like no other! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and Ive been impressed with their high level of professionalism. I find their honesty so important when so many in this field lack that important ethic. UIve been a customer over the past 15 years. They have worked on the classic British car Ive owned over 40 years and Im picky about its mechanic, AND got it better running than any prior mechanic. They also work on three other cars we have and we feel extremely lucky to have them in our arsenal of trusted service people.
Very competent, professional, timely, and trustworthy. The mechanics at Simons (I specifically communicated with Chris) knowledgeably realized a problem that was missed at another auto repair shop. Whereas the other shop had tried to sell me many unnecessary repairs, Simons realized that the actual repairs needed were different and would likely have costs exceeding the value of the vehicle. Instead, they recommended a temporary fix for
Ive been taking my cars to Simon for 14 years and have never had an issue. They do great work, have good quality people doing the work and they explain options so you can make the best decision for your situation. As of this posting I would never hesitate to recommend Simons Auto.
I was involved in an accident in Cleveland (Im from 5 hours away and was there on a day-trip) and was recommended to Simons by a local. The vehicle was not in a state to be driven. I called them up and they were able to get me in and out that day. The price was very reasonable and I was able to be home that night. Would highly recommend Simons to anyone!
Simon, and Steve, (as well as the rest of the staff) are all on the same page when it comes to customer service. They are VERY well experienced with todays vehicles, and it shows in how they conduct their business. I do the vast majority of my own work on my vehicles, but when theres something I cant, or wont, handle, I have them handle it. They charge a reasonable price, but more importantly, they THOROUGHLY diagnose the situation, and provide HONEST options. In full disclosure, I work next door to Simons (at Sound On Wheels), and Ive known Simon and his staff for over 25 years.
Fantastic service; Simons did a full inspection of the vehicle for free and was very friendly and upfront over the phone. The prices were good and Simon had the car up on the lift to show us the work they did. I highly recommend Simons to anyone who needs a good mechanic!
Great experience with Simon. He explained everything to me and gave me a very fair price. After I picked my car up, I noticed that there was different light on. He told me to bring it in, fixed it in 2 minutes and sent me on my way. Knowledgeable, fair, and professional. Will definitely be returning to Simon with all my car troubles!
They have done an outstanding job with my car on several occasions. They are open and more than fair with pricing. I have been thoroughly impressed about their knowledge of my particular vehicle and I feel more comfortable with my car at Simons than the dealer. Great place!
Simons Automotive Service is a company with integrity. They are honest about what the customer needs done to their vehicle, and they actually fix the problem. They are also instrumental in letting customers know what other repairs are needed to their vehicle. I would definitely return to Simons, and I would recommend the company to other people.
Ive been using Simons Auto Services since 2014 when I moved to Cleveland for residency. They provide high-quality, thorough and efficient automotive services. Last year after my husband and I moved from the east side of Cleveland to the west side (now a 40-minute drive to their shop), we still use Simons because their service is incomparable.
Simon is the best mechanic Ive ever had work on my car.I towed my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer to the shop after my breaks went out. After that, he diagnosed and showed me the problem. He fixed it for a reasonable price. I also ran past him a problem that I had been having for a couple of years -- the car gradually began leaning to the left. He said he would take a look at it. I wasnt convinced he could fix the problem as I had taken the vehicle to at least 4-5 other places and never quite had it fixed. Not only did he fix the problem, but it only cost $200! I had previously spent $800 on rear leaf springs with no improvement. I shouldve taken the car directly to him in the first place. If you have any doubt about taking your car to a local mechanic over the dealership, erase that doubt. This guy knows what hes doing, he explains why hes doing it and doesnt charge an arm and a leg. He has a lifelong customer in me and you can be sure Ill let all of my friends know how pleasant he is to work with.
After moving to Cleveland in 1996 I tried a few places around the area. Some of them knew what they were doing and some didnt. Simons is the perfect mix of a fair price, good work, and most importantly, honesty. I moved a few years ago but I still bring my car to Simon every time. When you have a mechanic you can trust, you stick with them. Its a first class outfit. And their new shop is beautiful. Thanks Simon!
I took my 2004 Audi A8 to Simons to have the timing belt/water pump done as preventive maintenance since the car was running perfectly fine. They had my car for like three days. I received a phone call from Simon himself and I was thinking to myself that the car was finished only to hear that the air suspension had failed and the car was laying on the ground, something that had never happened since my ownership. I asked Simon if someone had attempted to lift the car without putting it in jack mode. He immediately became defensive saying that I had over-sized wheels (22 inch) which I had on my car when I DROVE it to his shop. He then hooked the computer to the car which did more damage to the system than anything. He then told me that I should off my car because its a money pit. What repair shop tells a customer that? I knew everything that my car needed done to it and I could do it all myself. I simply needed Simons to do the timing belt/ water pump job. I knew about the power steering leak, small coolant leak from a plastic piece by the oil cooler that is now more of a progressive leak because of Simon doing a pressure test on the cooling system. The plastic pipe is very brittle and the pressure test broke it all the way so the coolant leak is much larger now. So I went up to Simons with my RossTech Vagcom in hand and had to do Suspension system adaptation to get the car to lift back up and noticed that my right front fender had a rip in it from someone trying to drive the car while it was in the lowered position. When I addressed this to Simon he handed me two business cards to some bodyshops and told me he wasnt going to work on my car because he felt that I was trying to get over on him. Really? He said that hes already got over four hours into my car. I didnt ask for any kind of diagnostic work to be done on my car. Just a timing belt/water pump kit to be done as preventive maintenance. So people need to be careful of where they take their cars to. Just because a shop has been around forever doesnt mean that they are on your side. Oh I was quoted 1k to get this job done on my car which turned out to be $1485 which I was still happy to pay. Chris quoted me the price over the phone which Simon said they dont do. So maybe Simon simply wanted to charge me more money.
Simons Auto is the best. Simon and Jack are always a pleasure to deal with. We are moving out of the area and will miss the great service, the quality work and attention to detail. They check our cars from tip to tail every time to make sure we are running well and keeping up and it pays off in the short and long run. Rave reviews from us :)
Incredible service... Schedule appointments on the website, drop your car off talk to them. Later, you get text to a link where you can accept or decline a list of services recommended or that you requested. Then you pay too. Fast and easy. Plus I had a great experience where they identified a noise in my drive train and greased it up for me. this slight whirring sound is almost gone free of charge... theyre very fast and professional. this system is the best
My wife and have been taking our cars to Simon for years. Their work is always fast, complete, and professional. The price is always exactly as quoted, and Simon calls personally to let us know what the repairs are, what it will cost, and when it will be complete. We recommend Simons to all of our friends.
It was very easy to arrange an appointment over the phone. They were ready at the appointed time, handled the work promptly and neatly, were friendly in person and on the phone, and gave appropriate advice on possible future services. Also were very solid with COVID safety measures. Highly recommend.
I am very pleased with the integrity of Simon at Simons Automotive. He stood behind the work of his garage and went out of his way to solve a problem and keep my business. (For details, continue reading about my experience below).Problem:I recently visited Simons to have a check engine light investigated. They replaced an oxygen sensor (which is in line with common problems for my cars make and model), told me that I had problems with my wheel alignment and brakes, and returned the car to me. Having been taken advantage of by a mechanic in the past, I questioned the necessity of getting the wheels and brakes taken care of at the time. The light was still on when I drove it towards the street so I turned around and had them check it again. Resetting the light status did not work, but the man helping me told me that it was normal for the light to stay on awhile. After a month of driving, the light was still on. Simons agreed to look at it again without additional cost because it was the same problem that I paid a few hundred dollars to fix a month prior. Upon further intense investigation, I received a call telling me the electric cables leading to the oxygen sensor had been chewed on by a rodent l(supposedly not too uncommon for the Cleveland area). Since the wires were in a very inaccessible spot, I was quoted an additional $350 to change the wires.Resolution:Being frustrated for being told I needed to pay again to fix the original problem, I spoke with Simon in person about the problematic situation. Without giving specific details about the outcome, I will say that Simon went out of his way to guarantee his shops work, ensure my satisfaction, and demonstrate his integrity. Instead of losing my future business and that of my acquaintances, he impressed me with character that is often missing from business today. Despite the initial hassle, I am rating Simons Automotive 5 stars because of Simons character and the professional way he handled the situation.
Edit 12/09/2020:Chris with Simons Auto reached out to me to resolve the issues with my oil drain plug and set up a time to see the truck the next day. Got the old bolt out and replaced free of charge. Rating is increased for good customer service. I would work with them again.Original:I had them change my oil when I was getting some other work done last Winter. When I went to change my oil this past week myself, I discovered that they overtightened my oil pan drain plug, probably torqued it down tight with an air gun. Now its stripping trying to get it loose. Probably stripped the threads on the inside too, cant tell cause I havent figured out how to get it off yet. Oil drain plugs are not supposed to be torqued.A vacuum leak they patched up at the time has since failed as well.
Terrible experience. I took my car in to have a water pump replaced. Several thousand dollars later I picked up my car with what Simon indicated was a new water pump, thermostat, cooling flush, and new valve cover gasket. Eight days later a low coolant light came on while on the highway. Coolant was spraying from the reservoir tank cap. I had to stop every thirty miles to add coolant just to get back home. The next day I contacted Simon. He didnt want to listen to me. He just told me to bring the car back into the shop. Upon a closer look I discovered that the cap on the reservoir tank was broken which was the root cause of the issue. When I returned to Simons I pointed this out to him. All he wanted to do was blame and justify - it had to be something I did. I left the car. I was contacted later that day that the car was ready. When I got to Simons I was presented with a bill for a new cap for $23.00. Simon even had the audacity to state that he put forty dollars of coolant into the car at his expense. Who cares about the money I put into coolant to get back home plus the bill for the original work. Who cares that serious damage could have happened to the engine. Simon continued with the position that there was no way his mechanics could have done that to the car and that it had to be something I did.I do not recommend this place.
I brought my Volkswagen Bug in for an oil change and the car was up in the air almost immediately. The oil change was done promptly and a thorough inspection performed. As a result, an old problem of a brake noise was finally diagnosed correctly; it was a bad wheel bearing. I am extremely pleased with this as the other shop insisted the noise was coming from the brakes and wanted to replace not only pads but the rotors as well that I declined. Had I agreed to it, it wouldnt have fixed the problem. I am extremely happy that I did bring my car to Simons, the mechanics there are knowledgeable, especially about the foreign cars, courteous, provided a printed estimate, a full one year warranty which is contrary to the popular belief is NOT always offered, and did I mention their waiting area? The soft seating, the Keurig right by and the view out the window is absolutely out of this world. The view of the tall trees and all the greens around them is very tranquil and relaxing which is very important while waiting for your car to be done. Much more important than watching the same TV station on and on.Bottom Line: Simons is the only shop I will be bringing my beloved VW Bug from now on. I highly recommend it to anyone for whom quality car care is important. I only wish that they offered a loaner or a shuttle service
I trust Simons with my life! I have an old 1983 Mercedes and they keep her running acquiring parts that are no longer available at affordable prices. Also my radiator that I replaced less than a couple years ago went bad, but due to their excellent relationships with the distributor, they sent a new one and I only had to pay cost of labor! Thank you for being a reputable business in Cleveland heights!!
Always very happy with their professional and efficient service. I was impressed with the easily available records of the history of service on my car. The only problem for me is that they have become so busy they can no longer pick me up or take me home when they have my car. This, however, will not stop me from returning.
They did fine work for me on one occasion. Though I found it extremely odd months later when I returned they refused to perform a hose repair of coolant system because the car was in too bad condition. So I took it to Sharp Care and they did the work. Ill be sticking with Sharp Care.
First off I left my car there before I was taking a long trip. I asked for my fluids to be checked, my tires and if they could look into a check engine light that had come on (and already gone out by the time I dropped it off) and at my window that wont go down that would be great.Just want to say they had me leave it there overnight so it could be ready by the end of the day...I called when I was almost out of class hoping I could have my ride drop me off there and be ready to leave the next day. They told me that we called you but you did not answer. Yes they called, from a personal cell number I did not recongnize, then proceeded to not leave a voicemail. They had taken the door apart and said it needed an O2 sensor but were going to make me wait another day because I hadnt called them back....at this point I said I would just pick it up because I do not have another day, if they did not have the time for it, I would have went elsewhere.Simons Auto charged me $40 to look at my door (Labor not included) charged me a total of $240 to install an o2 Sensor (if they even did) and look at the door/window switch. They were supposed to fill my fluids yet shortly down the road on the way to Chicago from Cleveland when my van starts acting up, I notice my coolant is the lowest its ever been. I filled it up and here we are, 2 weeks later and a return trip from Chicago, still not as low as it was before I left. Leak my a**. If there is one, its a slow leak. My guess is that they let coolant out or did something else. Did not fill my tires as I had asked either. Front driver side was 20psi. Im glad I pulled into a station and check because Im not sure my vehicle would have made it all the way back without a blowout. Then on top of all this the lights on my dash started blinking when I hit a pothole on the way back. Thankfully with the power of Youtube I think I got that sorted on my own. When I went to them because of my tires and a few other problems, knowing I was going to try to return my battery to AAA since Simons told me it was the wrong battery for the vehicle, they charged me a disposal fee. When I complained that AAA wouldnt let me do a return so I would like to return theirs, they told me to bring it to them and they would give me back my disposal fee, the one I shouldnt have been charged in the first place. Not sure why I would keep taking my car here. I feel like Id be better off at a Midas. At least they charge less to screw me.
These guys were absolutely wonderful! Price was great, work was quick, staff was courteous and clear in answering questions. I popped by with practically no notice and a problem I knew fairly little about, but they quickly got me up to speed (and the work came in a bit under the already-fair estimate I was given, which was a lovely surprise). Ill be going back!
First, the obvious- they diagnosed and repaired my car. However, I also like that they explained the problem in a way that was understandable but not condescending, and that they alerted me to some potential problems that may need attention without being aggressive or trying to get me to fix it. Ive found my new Cleveland mechanic.

2022-05-31I have used Simons Automotive for the last 3 years for inspections, repairs, and general maintenance. Everyone has been helpful and efficient, and willing to explain things to me and why they need to be done. I believe that the staff at Simons takes good care of my car and also takes good care of me as their customer. Highly recommend.

2022-07-12I have been going to Simons for my auto maintenance and repairs for years. They are personable, professional and do high quality work that they stand by. Their commitment to high quality service and customer satisfaction was recently exemplified when they offered to redo a costly repair to make it right. For this I am very grateful. It is service like this that reminds me of why I go and refer others to Simons.

2022-07-07Took my 2016 Dodge Dart to Simon’s auto and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Had several issues (wheel bearing replacement, to wiring issues with radiator and check engine light). Simon took care of me and the crew there addressed of all my issues to include oil change, tire rotation and inspection. All for a very, very respectable price. Thank you again and will be recommending Simon’s to others.

2022-05-02Simon’s Auto is a great place to get work done on your car. He was incredibly helpful in deciding exactly what to do to my car, and was upfront about the issues that he found. He was also incredibly flexible when I needed the car last minute. I would highly recommend Simon’s services if you’re looking to get fixes for your car in the Cleveland area

2022-03-28This was my first time using Simon’s Auto Service since I just moved to this side of town. I couldn’t be more satisfied! Had all of the brake pads and rotors (front and back) done, a battery replaced, and a light bulb replaced. They explained everything very clearly and the price was reasonable. Going to be bringing our second car in over the next few weeks since they did such a good job.

2022-05-09As always , Simon’s is fair and reliable. They do great work and never try to upsell you on work you do not need. They were able to find a replacement engine with just 50K miles on it for our Subaru Impreza. Very pleased.
