I am currently over a year clean no thanks to dr Whitney. if you are a parent trying to find treatment for your child I know how sometimes it feels necessary to put them in the first treatment center that accepts them just to save their lives and i would agree with that. That is If it were literally ANY other place than Shepard hill. The practices of this place include inexperienced staff left alone to care for 20+ clients(which is what they refer to you as by the way because to them your not a patient your a paying customer), manipulation tactics, and straight up fraud. I watched them send a young kid forced there by his parents because he was smoking weed get sent to a six month facility after his 60 days the hill because they felt it was needed. Turns out they have a deal with the place and make that sweet sweet insurance money with every person they send there so they will make it seem like literally anyone needs the six month treatment. Speaking of which I was also sent to the six month. It was a small place outside of Cincinnati called the ARC. This place was no bigger than a damn shell gas station and had 34 of us living in cramped conditions not to mention the staff comprised of 21 year olds and lesson plans which go against EVERYTHING taught in AA and the 12 steps. My family pulled me out after two months because after attending a few family groups they help even they could see how problematic this place was. The best advice I could give anyone struggling with addiction is to just find yourself a good AA meeting filled with good people who will be there for you at the drop of a hat. That’s what helped get me clean at only 22 years old I now have a beautiful daughter and haven’t touched opiates in over a year but it was because I put the work in MYSELF. you have to want it. If you don’t want to get clean you could be in rehab for a year and still be planning your first fix when you get out I’ve seen it before. Just remember things do get better but only if you want them to.

I also experienced what others have. I had Dr. Darren there and he was absolutely fantastic. I was finally getting the help that I needed. (Having struggled with anxiety and panic attacks for more than 15 years being thrown from doctor to doctor, psychiatrist to psychiatrist).He was promoted to a new area of shepherds hill and I received a letter telling me I could not longer see him. I called to try and get with another one of the doctors but they told me he wasnt replaced and there wasnt anyone I could see. My prescriptions couldnt be refilled and I was on my own... Again.I have not found a replacement a year later and Im still desperately in need of help. Unfortunately, mental health isnt taken seriously here and I guess Shepherds Hill has no responsibility to its patients.

I gave one star because I had to rate at least something. I just left there after being told that I would be admitted. After speaking with Doctor Whitney and my refusal to take Methadone or Suboxone, he became irritated with me. He did not like the fact that I am a grown adult and can make my own choice as to not wanting to become addicted to another substance. Dr Whitney is indeed all about the money. DO NOT COME TO SHEPARD HILL ITS A WASTE OF TIME.

I was a patient their, and when my doctor left I got nothing but a letter in the mail. There was no follow up care. My therapist called them to see if I could get help considering I don’t have a general practitioner and now I have no medication to help me. They just Abandoned all of their mentally ill patients. I am having panic attacks every day because I’m not getting the help I need. Don’t go here.

Sent my little cousin home after he attempted suicide because, he didnt want to help himself. It was obvious he was a huge risk to himself and his body was found today.
