I was at severance to visit Daves supermarket. I have been shopping at this Daves for many years. I can say that I have not had many issues with this supermarket. I have ordered cakes, I have played numbers, I have visited the liquor store for wine, and I have made plenty of salads from the salad bar before covid. There are employees that have been there for many years so I take it it is not a bad place to work at as well. I will continue to shop at this Daves as long as they are open.
I visited the Home Depot actually, Ive worked as a merchandiser for Home Depot and the two team members I encountered there that day were lacking knowledge of the store and products. My experience across the country with the chain has been their team members are some of the most knowledgeable. Just not the case at severance on that day
This place used to have a Shoe Carnival, Walmart, and a Citi Trends. Why is it demolished now?? The whole center/area looks dead. Sure it has SOME decent places like a Gamestop and a Daves market but thats the only two places. Really missing the nostalgia of this place. :(
So much potential wasted here. What once was, no longer is. This used to be a great space that was lively. Once was a real mall. Over the years this has transformed in many different ways and here we are.Plenty of space and opportunity to flip this place around. Several Staples like Home Depot, Marshalls, USPS still exist. The emptiness of abandoned locations like IHOP and many store fronts make this space feel lackluster and dead. What a shame.#TiaTriedIt
Severance Town center used to be a fine place to shop with a Walmart, a Home Depot, a movie theater, and miscellaneous stores. The place deteriorated after Walmart moved out. We still visit home Depot which is the only decent thing over there besides a post office. I went to Daves Market last week, and I will never go back. The driveway and parking lot have lots of potholes. I absolutely do not recommend going to this place.
I have supported this location every since their opening. It only takes one person to ruin it. I spent $43 for two boxes of outside flood lights, when home to install it and one light bulb was not working. I returned back to the store and asked the female clerk if I could get a replacement. She said no you would have to bring both bulbs back which I thought was a bit ridiculous when she could just switch out with another bulb. I asked her to have the manager respond so she called him and said to just give me another replacement bulb. Of course she now have an attitude and tells me Go get another box. No respect!
Once a bustling mall with 2nd tier stores like Higbees and Halle. It was converted into a strip mall anchored by Walmart and Office Max. Now without Walmart, its glory days seem behind the once storied mall. This chain of events make it ripe for redevelopment. Cleveland Heights is demographically able to support some type of redevelopment and should be seeking a major partnership with a global organization.
Handicap spots used up. No one using sanitizer. Too many employees talking and not enuf working in the hot/deli/fish area.I even saw an employee get admonished in front of customers for something that wasnt her issue while customers are watching and waiting.Poor employer to employee management. But thats the Severence store.
The best Home Depot I’ve been in the entire country is at Severance town Center. On my last visit to the Home Depot Walt in the electrical department was top notch. I really appreciated the great service. The team members at check out were great too. This Home Depot is very well managed and maintained.
This place has really run down over the years. I only visit this area for the Home Depot because its convenient but most of the stores are closed and the storefronts are empty. There are a few fast food places still open but overall this place has really gone down I cant believe Cleveland Heights has let it get so bad.
The place has many vacancies. It has lost anchor tenants and except for Home Depot , OfficeMax and Daves Market, it feels like an old dying shopping Center. Its a shame because it is very convenient to the local residents. There is panhandling outside of each major store and that doesnt encourage people to shop their either.
Closures leave Severance Town Center as a shadow of its former self. The mall at one time used to be an internal mall, as opposed to the strip mall it has become years later. Merchants have been ravaged by the markets fall as well as the devastation wreaked upon them due to the pandemic. Fortunately, my needs were able to be met during my recent visit thanks to Daves Supermarket being there. I look forward to retail returning.
Horrible experience at Networkz. Wanted to order food on line and could not. Then had to be physically searched by unprofessional and rude security guard. They need to invest in a wand instead of touching people during this pandemic. What a clown . Dont go there for any reason.
Its quite sad to see what seems to have been a glorious shopping center fall into such disrepair. It appears nearly half of the stores have since relocated which makes you question the safety of the area. As a local I know the area is fine to visit but it does tend to make my family and friends a little bit nervous when I take them to this area. Hopefully some sort of intervention and revitalization of this area will occur and give it new life but as it stands now it seems to be dying unfortunately.
I only came here because I was passing through the area & needed items from Home Depot. This small plaza wouldnt be my first thought to come to for much. There isnt anything wrong here... just not much happening here either. Its better than having nothing, for those nearby.
Not much here with the closing of Wal-Mart sometime ago and the surrounding stores. However, the Home Depot has improved over the past year, Daves Market is pretty nice and the other stores are good. Its not convenient to much, but if you live in the Heights area, youll find yourself there often.
This mall has businesses that you would use frequently such as Home Depot and a Key Bank with a double drive up ATM. However, the number of empty stores here never makes me feel as safe as I want. The parking lot is also in dire need of repair. Im always driving super slow just to make sure I dont mess up my car. The lighting is also very dark around the mall. I think it may be due to the fact that theres no additional light coming from open stores. I will continue to come here if I need something specific. But I wont make it a place to just drop by and see what they have.
I grew up in Cleveland Hts when This was a mall. The memories.I worked here at Halles through high school and after graduation.I lived the excitement of Christmas here. The transformation of a shopping mall to a winter wonderland. My nose pressed on store front window checking out displays .long gone.My kids will never know those memories as the mall is gone.It is a strip mall with some anchors all around the exterior .no more mall walking.no more today wonderland.Long gone are those days. Its sad. Things are to expensive for business owners and online shopping will take over walking a mall smelling fresh baked cookies and pretzels.virtual reality will take over Santas pictures and workshop expierence. What is there for all purposes serves its space.Fast shopping. Mobile shopping where you check yourself out...im not an emoyee and unless I get a paycheck or discount I want a human.I am disappointed with a strip mall but moving with the times.the stores are efficient and function but have lost the wonder. The Reason to shop at a mall.
Part of Severance Town Center was kind of big-box shopping center which was built around Wal-Mart. Now Wall Mart has been relocated, his parking lot is empty now, but there is lot of life in this place. Daves Market store is always busy being very good store to go grocery shopping and I do it regularly, and like to visit Marshalls to check their new arrivals. There is Office Max if you need supplies for your office or looking for office furniture, or want to copy someting. I also come to this plaza to pay my Spectrum bills, or drop my letters or parcels at Post Office, where I buy envelopes and stamps. And of course from spring till fall its time for me to regularly visits to Home Deport where I buy everything for gardening.
Its actually kind of sad how empty Severance is becoming ever since the mega store left it seems that more and more businesses are losing interest or something with the area so the only real thing driving population over theres the fact that theres the grocery store and theres a video game store and a clothing store and Im honestly not even sure if the cinema still open because it doesnt look like it is... I would really like to see some revitalization of this area but it seems that theres just a big Court House and a Home Depot the GameStops there but its pretty small but they always are and theres a nice store called The Villa but it appears to only cater to black women and young women at that.. theres a cell phone store that doesnt even offer wifi to people that come in plus its a terrible Sprint store so who would want their service anyway theres the Dave Supermarket here on the other side is a very very small errands if you ever wanted to triple pay for some furniture or quadruple pay for a television set and then theres some office space and a military outlet some nail salons and hair places and nothing really seems to be going on its quite dull.
The mall has really died over the years! The best things there are Daves Supermarket and the Home Depot! Theres a Marshalls, Office Depot, Citi Trends, Worlds Gym, and a band and nail salon on the inside! Subway, Payless, chinese food, Radio Shack, and more! Theres also a Medical Arts building, and emergency hospital, a post office, and the Cleveland Hts police station and courts! Nice, convenient, and you can definitely find what you need!
Very large shopping district. Most buildings are empty. Not a lot of restaurants. They need to get rid of the stop signs on the circle, especially the ones that are on turn lanes so theyre a full lane away if youre going straight. Half the people dont see them so I can foresee accidents happening if there was any actual traffic through there. Its like they purposefully made it slower to go through Severance than to take Taylor and Mayfield, but that means businesses dont get as much traffic. It reminds me of one of those failed utopian living experiments. Great buildings, lots of room for shopping, but the layout made it fail and the businesses moved elsewhere. They should turn it into a college campus.
The post office here is the absolute worst. The workers are extremely rude all the time. The self serve stamp machine never works right and if it doesnt print you the correct stamps (if at all) the staff at the desk wont help you so youre basically out the money (surprise, surprise - being ripped off by another govt office). The last time I asked them to replace the stamps the dirty looking, bearded male worker was hacking, coughing and wiping his nose w his hand & while telling me to hit the machine, that he couldnt give me stamps to replace mine cause its a different account on the machine. Meanwhile the loud mouth lady working next to him chimes in and yells at me to hit the machine, that my stamps will come out. First of all, I shouldnt have to hit any type of machine period. GET IT FIXED OR REMOVE IT. Second, I wasnt dealing w her, she had her own customer so maybe mind yp ur own business and be quiet. I will avoid this post office like the plague from here on out. Horrible customer service, dirty and machines dont work right. Get it together, pathetic.
Severance has become a retail ghost town. Its definitely not what it used to be. The area needs revitalization badly. Cleveland Heights is normally better about keeping their community thriving. Once the Magic Johnson theater, Walmart and Bakers Square closed it seemed to be a ripple effect of other businesses closing.
Lots of stores and businesses have dissappeared from here. Lots of good clothing stores used to be here, IHOP was wonderful, Walmart, blockbuster Video, regal cinemas. the list goes on. This place has changed for the worse. When Im over here I go to Daves, Gamestop and Home Depot sometimes. They should just redo most of serverence. My childhood shopping center has crumbled
I have been shopping here since the 60s going to Ballys now World gym which is lousy. I always check my surroundings when I use the ATM IM looking when all of a sudden BAM busted my tire going into the ATM LANE! Never again. This place is ridiculous. Housing is more expensive because of being close to a mall......WHAT MALL? SMH

2022-06-05Spent many hours studying at Borders here about 10 years ago. Now all thats left is Daves, home Depot and some dollar stores. Its become a dump. Cleveland heights should turn this into a nice green space and maybe actually attract some new business or residence. Feels like an eye sore in Cleveland heights

2022-05-14Well, I went to Home Depot. I found everything that I needed within 10 minutes.Checking out was a challenge today, rather than going thru self-check out I was forced to a common check out.The cashier had an attitude, moved like a snail, and had a less than positive attitude. If my alternative vendors were closure I would go elsewhere.

2022-05-12Theres nobody around to help with questions about items and they have no clue about anything and lets not even mention the slow line for self check out.I recently waited 15 minutes in line for a refill for grass trimmer. I was wearing headphones at the time and didnt realize there was a guy that bought wrong item earlier. He hovered around me and instantly ran ring up his item while the self checkout girl allowed this to happen. I patiently waited my turn. On a bad day I wouldve caused a scene and gotten a manager involved then threatened the guy in the parking lot. But I didnt and I lost 15 minutes of my life that Home Depot wont refund. Thanks!Heres pictures of the Essential Worker that stole my place in line.

2022-06-07This place is so outdated I would go as far to say it’s like abandoned. Insane potholes everywhere, speedbumbs that are 3 foot high. Empty storefronts everywhere. It’s weird because they have a few big clients and rent spaces out to movie companies from Hollywood you would think they could like fix the parking lot, update the landscaping or whatever but I guess not. Also can you fix the damn neon at the movie theatre it’s the only thing you have left at this point.
