Its beautiful and peaceful. Its a good sized park, with places to grill. I would be a great place for an outdoor party. It was easy to get to and it has creek access. The only thing I wasnt expecting was the number of people. It seems to be a pretty popular place to take your kids and swim.
Great place for a family or company picnic. Nice covered areas, grilling areas, with grills, playgrounds, plenty of parking. Space to set up volleyball, badminton, or to pass frisbee. Nice creek to walk through, or wade in, take the dog for a swim. Trash containers, and grounds maintenance routinely mows. Great place to go and relax. 😬👍
One of the most romantic settings Ive been to in a very long time. Peaceful and relaxing place to be. By all means,if this is the rekindling of a past love or a new love this place is a winner in all romantic settings !!!!!!Dare to be Happy,Dare to Love again and Make beautiful memories that will last a life time....🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love Sebald Park. But there are a lot of ppl that litter and thats unexceptionable. From food containers and plastic bottles to dirty diapers and cigarette butts everywhere. They have trash cans And some ppl need to learn to clean up after themselves. Its a beautiful clean free place to enjoy with your familys so leave it the way you found it please and thank you
Went to this park for Thanksgiving, as my family members are very covid-19 conscious. We use one of the shelters that had a firefest in it. Built a fire and pizza followed by smores. The park was nice and of course on Thanksgiving it was not very crowded. We all had a good time I would recommend this park and I will likely come back to it for future family gatherings.
I had not been to Sebald Park since I was a teenager because I lived out of state for decades. But I enjoyed walking along the creek and looking at rocks and small fish. There are several picnic shelters and childrens playgrounds. It is a nice natural environment to visit. There is a playground located at each of the shelter sites. Trails lead along the perimeter of the park winding through the woods.
Great park to visit, multiple playgrounds and shelters to grill out at. Free to get in if you have a park pass and even if you dont rarely anybody at the gate to check your pass. Well maintained mowed often. Several hiking trails and a nice creek where you can skip rocks. Horse trails as well if you have horses it is yet another reason to check the park out.
Nice small Park great for walking the dogs bike ride or taking hikes on the trails. Cant recommend it for picnics because there is not enough Ranger presents and the majority of the time you go there you have idiots with their trunks or hatches open and their radios blaring so you cant actually relax and enjoy the day but is nice and peaceful if you stay away from the main areas or on the trails
During these golden days of summer its so important to appreciate the beauty of nature, and this is a great park in which to do that! Whether you have a picnic under one of the shelters, go hiking, or just sit under a tree reading, youll be immersed in the sights and sounds of nature.
Sebald park is a very visually appealing park. But what it lacks is clear trail markers and a decent map at the entrance on how to even get there. Now this doesnt make it a bad park for hiking or biking but not a go to place either. Its a great option for during the week when you dont want to make the full commute to a better park. I travel to these kind of parks with a mountain bike and there was never any clear indication what trail I was allowed on, let alone to find it.
Several points...the icon for Sebald park on Google Earth is wrong. Google has is placed near Weatherwax Golf course...the actual park is west of the golf course and access is off of Elk Creek Road. I am not sure where the folks are coming from who wrote the previous remarks, but they are wrong. The park is very clean and Metro keeps it mowed. Metro has been working on new playground equipment and it is very nice. The only inconvenience about the park is there is not potable water and no electricity. Charging for reserving a shelter is not unique to Metro Parks...you dont have to pay unless you want to reserve a specific shelter, otherwise it is first come first serve and with Sebald (because it is not used heavily) it should not be a problem to just go and occupy a shelter.

2021-01-18Nice trail that allows horses. Cleanly cut and very wide paths. Lots of nearby covered picnic tables and bathrooms. Had a great walk with my dog, didn’t see anyone else there at the time though. A little muddy, and some vehicle tracks on the path.
