I am in the market for a new power washer and tiller. I prefer to shop at small and local companies. I walked into Schwab prepared to make a purchase today. I promptly walked out when I noticed that not one of the employees were wearing a mask. If you take your health seriously, shop somewhere else.
Complete disclosure, our families are related back a few generations. However, service and staff are professional and knowledgeable. I have bought a Toro commercial mower, Stihl trimmer parts, and most recently a Stihl pole saw. I would recommend without hesitation and often have.
Perfect place to get plants and any gardening needs. Had the vermiculite I wanted in the quantity I needed for a very reasonable price. Will be back in a couple of weeks for seedlings for the garden. Thanks Schwabs!
I had bought an Ultima ZT-1 ZTR mower from these guys last week for a property I had NOT used a ZTR mower on before and had exclusively mowed with a mulching 21 inch honda mower for years. The folks at Schwab answered all of my questions and concerns politely and with great knowledge and made the purchase process as painless as possible while also letting me know about the OptiBlue Oil they would include to extend the engine warranty up to 3 more years over the OEM warranty. They gave me my delivery date that was free of charge and then called me the morning of delivery to let me know when they would arrive. The gentleman who delivered it walked me through everything patiently and made sure I could see how everything worked and gave me time to ask questions before he left the mower where I directed him. The difference between Home Depot and Lowes and these guys are the mower was put together, tested, balanced and made sure to cut evenly, correctly and operate well before I even got the chance to sit in it to make sure my first cut was flawless. Unfortunately for me the property I purchased it for has too many rolling slopes for a ZTR to handle without scalping and not cutting as well as I was used to with a single blade mower so I called the same day and expressed my concerns. This was NOT schwabs problems as they sold me and delivered a fine product with great delivery at a good price yet they agreed to take the machine back for a full refund and came and got it. I now know I cannot use a ZTR on this property but you can be ASSURED I would never buy any mowers from ANYONE but Schwab in the future due to their excellent customer service and top notch customer experience. My next property that can use a ZTR will have a mower purchased from Schwab and only Schwab as they stand behind their products and most importantly stand behind their customers. Thank you to them for the 10/10 dealer experience and I will recommend everyone I know to purchase their mowers from Schwab! They had no obligation to go above and beyond and most dealers would have said tough luck too bad. I am planning to purchase more equipment from them next year due to this and moving my business from another local lawn equipment dealer to Schwab.
We had to bring our mower back as it was still having an issue, but upon the return visit, they all went the extra mile to make the repair immediately. The service technicians and manager were wonderful. While we were disappointed that we had to bring it back for a second visit (this is the first time that has happened), we would still highly recommend the team for our repairs and tune ups.
5/5 I had a hedge trimmer not working for me on a job site. I was in a real pinch. I ran up to Schwabs Outdoor Power Equipment hoping that they would be willing to look my hedge trimmer over even though its not the brand they sell or service. Not only were they willing to look at it, and fix it within 20 minutes, they didnt charge me a penny. I still however gave them $20. Very impressed with my experience and service. Real professional and I highly recommend. Thanks again!
Customer service is hit or miss, I was in the other day to have some chainsaw blades sharpened and buy 2 stroke oil. The owner was ringing me out and I asked for some pricing on concrete saw blades, he pretty much just ignored me so I took my blades and left.
I would give them an even lower rate if possible. Obviously if someone calls about equipment,they don’t have any idea what’s wrong or how to fix it.Theres no reason the guy on the phone should have been as rude and a smart a** as he was.Talking down to me because I didn’t know the engine size of my parents mower. Ending the conversation with “Well then idk what to tell you guy”. I just gave up because I wasn’t going to humor his attitude nor buy anything from a company who treats customers as pitiful as this.
DO NOT TRUST SCHWAB! They told us our wide power driven lawn mower needed $500 worth of work because of a blow head gastic. We knew it started before they took it. So we had it bought back and had someone else look at it. NOTHING WRONG, it just needed blades sharpened and oil changed! What a SCAM!
Was told it would take 6 weeks to service my blower and chainsaw. If its going to take that long you should probably hire more help. They will only work on items they sell, which means no husqvarna/Honda engines. Go to another stihl dealer.

Had my mower over 5 weeks. When I took it home started mower pto couch fell off they didnt put bolts in took it back to Schwab they tightened new bolts in got it home used it part of one time its broken again with original problem I will return it a third time Tuesday????
Very pleased needed a specific mower and they didnt have it in stock found one for me at another dealer North of Columbus had it in a,week and the salesperson was friendly and kept in touch with me letting me know everything about it I would recommend them to any one good price too

Tried to sell me a new leaf blower because mine was junk.charged me for a part they didnt replace and would not refund me the money.Be carefull if you have to rip someone off to make a buck you should just shut your doors.The son is the crooked one..Apparently your dad built a business you are ruining..good luck with being a theif because thsts what you are!

Associate wasnt very consumer friendly. Rude and just seemed as if he shouldnt have been there. At least they had the part I needed.

2022-06-12Our newish Cub Cadet ZT1-42 had a problem with the main power belt and needed quick repair. Called and talked to Robert who said they could get to it in 3 weeks. Since we didnt have much choice, we had them pick it up. I asked them to change the oil and sharpen the blade too. 1-1/2 weeks later we got a call saying it was ready. The spring on the pulley? had sprung and they had it all ready for us. The price was reasonable and service outstanding! What more could you ask for!?! Thanks Schwab! You can be sure well be back!!

2022-07-12Was in the market for a Cub Cadet 30 inch battery powered tractor mower. It is just the right size for my yard and environmentally friendly. The second time I went to Schwabs Outdoor equipment, they had one available! Unfortunately, as a retailer, they have chosen not to take American Express or Cub Cadet credit card due to the charge back from these cards. So, I couldnt utilize 12 month free financing. My delivery cost $100 because I am more than 15 miles beyond the store (23 miles or 8 miles more). Gee, Im buying a $3,199 mower, seems the delivery cost added by the owner to my order is a bit over the top. The 1st time I stopped in, the other sales associate told me they would waive my delivery cost which I told the owner, but he ignored me. On the day of delivery, the technician was prompt, friendly and demonstrated the mower! At that time, Home Depot had 203 of the mowers with $400 off and free delivery (exact model I was buying, I checked with Cub Cadet), but of course no set up and testing nor demonstration. So obviously, I purchased from Schwabs Outdoor equipment since I have known their fine reputation for 40 years and the recommendations I got from my friends. Hey, the $400 extra cost is certainly worth it for the technicians attention to detail. However, it seems that they should accept Cub Cadet financing for 12 months just as cash since Schwab is a Cab Cadet dealer and charging full delivery cost is a little irritating. I felt like Dan the owner was insulted when I asked to use American Express, Cub Cadet financing and charge me for less delivery cost (certainly I was willing to pay a fee).I really like the employees! Great customer service and very friendly.These days, small family owned businesses like this one are struggling due to the lack of products from manufacturers to sell. Sure hope Schwabs Outdoor equipment is able to weather the storm. Family owned businesses with great reputations are the bedrock of retailers in these days of Amazon and big box stores!

2021-07-21They have serviced my Cub Cadet a few times and always did a good job and have been reasonable. Now am shopping for a new mower and have stopped in a couple times. They have done a great job explaining the features and making recommendations without high pressure.

2019-06-03I received great service with the purchase of my new Stihl trimmer and a great price on the trimmer I had repaired. The instruction I received on proper use, maintenance and the capability of each model was impressive. You cannot get this kind of service at a box store. I appreciate the level of interaction I had with the sales person because it allowed me to buy the appropriate trimmer for the long fence line and demanding yard that I cut each week.
