Schulers Bakery in other cities:
Everything I have ever eaten from Schulers has been top quality and delicious!! The donuts are better now than in the past; less greasy and more flavorful! The pumpkin cookies and red velvet donuts in the fall are my favorites, and I highly recommend trying them! If you dont like very sweet things, anything with frosting may be a bit much because the frosting is all very sweet.Make sure to get your food in the morning so its fresh!
I was given a dozen cup cakes from here as a favor from a friend. And they were the worst things ive ever tried. What was once a great bakery has now become sub par and is just trending on its name from the past. Its sencond rate, Id rather have a any thing over one of there over priced under quality cakes. save your money, go any place elese.
AN EXTREMELY PETTY COMPANY TO WORK FOR! Especially under Mike Peters Management. I quit after 1+ years for not being cut my $270 Week vacation pay. Mike Peters said i was Tenths of an hour from meeting their weekly average, in order to be cut the paycheck. After taking my projected figures to corporate, and their engineer looked it over, they cut me my deserved check.Forgot to mention, that The place is filthy. Mold growing on thier cutting table and cabinets.
We saw reviews and decided we had to stop and try some fresh bakery goods as a sweet treat. We are so glad we did..... Their cookies, old fashion donuts, and cupcakes are some of the best we have ever had. My daughter thought this place was awesome and would have loved one of everything. You can tell everything was made fresh with great ingredients. I highly recommend you make this a stop if in this town. Super cool bakery...... One of the best we have eaten! Anytime we pass thru this town and want our sweet craving this will be our place to come. Prices were very reasonable.... try an Apple Fritter.
We purchased a dozen chocolate cupcakes with white frosting and the only thing good about them was the frosting! The cake part was dry and fell apart when you took them out of the cupcake paper. We also bought cream filled doughnuts that barely had any cream in them.We have purchased from here on numerous occasions and have never had anything this disappointing!
Aunt sent me to buy her a bakers dozen of course I bought myself one. Such a bunch of sweet girls working tonight . God bless them for all the love they were putting out there with their kindness and helpful ways. ( If the boss is reading give them a bonus and free donuts for life) lol
What do you mean how was schulers bakery? Schulers bakery is awesome. Im going to her familys house for Thanksgiving and I screwed up a few years ago and brought donuts from schulers. Now every time we go up the entire family puts in their schulers order like they dont have bakeries in Cleveland.
Kids took over and the steady decline has followed over the last 10 years. Been eating them all my life and now sadly I’d prefer a fresh speedway doughnut to these. Go in at 6am and doughnuts still taste like they’re day olds. Used to eat here couple times a week. Down to a couple times a year anymore. And after today’s disappointing visit, not sure I’ll even do that for these stale over priced doughnuts. Save your money, make the drive to Centerville and get Bills Doughnuts. As a born and raised Springfield resident, pains me to say that.
The donuts here are always fresh, and the staff are very nice. The donuts are delicious, and I would definitely recommend trying them out if you have never had them, theyre a very well-known local bakery that has been around for a very long time, and theres a reason for it.
Definitely not what it used to be. Still good...definitely not great anymore...and you pretty much need to take loans out if you need to buy a dozen of donuts which is ridiculous. Used to be the go to if having an early morning event but they have changed their taste, not much is actually made there fresh now days, and they definitely changed their prices. Wouldnt have been like this 30years ago. Sometimes change....isnt better.....even when the world around you is changing.
Great donuts. When a Dunkin donuts goes right next to them, that says they want to compete with the best bc a lot of people go there. Staff is always nice. Those who say its going downhill obviously have alternative reasons for trying to make them seem horrible. Cookies are great to.
Only one because you cant give a negative rating. That was the worst donut I have ever eaten in my life. I have been in 48 of the 50 states and ate donuts from everywhere and continually bragged about how Schulars made the best donuts in the world. I made a trip home after not being here in years and talked my creamfilled donuts up the whole 20 hour trip from Texas and was completely embarrassed after i handed everyone one and took my first bite. I suppose they have decided that quanity over quality is the way to go. Way to go boys you have ruined the family business.
I went in on a Wednesday night after Bible study and order a few donuts and I wanted to order a cake. I was told just one minute tge girl that writes up the cake order was outside. I waited at least 10 minutes, finally the girl that was inside said I will write up the order although I havent written up one. Finally the girl that was outside came in and you could tell she had been smoking. She took my cake order but didnt tell me that I had to pay up front. This Sunday 10.28.2018 after church I went to pick up the cake and the cake was NOT made because I was supposed to pay up front. I had to wait another 10-15 minutes for them to get a cake ready. I feel I shouldve gotten a discount.
Grew up with Schulers. Taste the same which is great. Not enough donuts and too many cookies. Also, could use a fountain drink system. Service was quick. 10% discount for seniors or AAA or golden buckeye. I cant remember, but you will need to show your card. A good visit back to the past.
This is a popular Springfield bakery. Its weird that there are no reviews.People like their butterfly cookies. I think that the frosting on the cakes, cupcakes and so forth all taste the same. Kinda greasy. Not good. But the staff is always great. But everything considered...They have GINGERBREAD MEN!!!
Was fired after 11 years of working there recently.. Gave me a write up and told me things to work on and in 2weeks we would have another meeting to determine if they was gonna let me go or not and instead of letting me work the 2 weeks they fired me 2 days later on my day off...I dedicated myself to this company for a long time just to get fired after they got a new General manager. I don’t recommend working for this company it’s just a pay check..
Best. Bakery. Ever. I havent found donuts or cakes anywhere in a 50 mile radius that can come close.Their masterpiece IMO is their chocolate buttercream. It dries with an incredibly thin shell on the outside, staying creamy and luscious underneath, and never feels too buttery or oily. You can get a nice dose of it on a chocolate bismark donut, but its also part of many other treats. You can find dozens (?) of donut flavors every day, al fresh and made in the store. Or try a huge chocolate-topped peanut butter bar (so oily, but thats ok because its too dense and rich to eat in one sitting anyway). Try a huge variety of expertly decorated sugar cookies, some with more icing than cookie, or picture perfect chocolate chip, thumbprint, and many more cookie options. My personal favorite is the gingerbread men - over 6 inches tall and simply decorated with that to-die-for chocolate buttercream. I balked at chocolate on gingerbread, but Schulers made me into a convert.Speaking of which. The only disheartening thing at Schulers is the owner(s) apparent attitude. At both stores, the first thing you see before you even get in the door is an aggressively large poster. Before it so much as says Hello, how do you do, it seems to be wagging its poster-finger at you while warning that you WILL be wished a Merry Christmas and informed that God Blesses America, you will witness flag saluting and troop supporting, and if that offends you (and ironically this is the only offensive part: point me to one person whos ever been offended by any of those things???), well you can just - and Im paraphrasing here - get the hell-diddly-heck out of Dodge. Its worth pointing out, dear owner, that Merry Christmas is the only item on that list that Ive witnessed here, and Ive been a frequent and exuberant supporter since you opened this location. Its terribly disappointing that, without ever having met me, your loyal customer, you assume that Im all the worst things you can imagine, so you aim to put me in my place before I ... well, whatever it is youre afraid Im going to do. In a bakery. Where Im buying donuts. Instead of going to the Dunkin Donuts drive thru that purposely opened right next door.(Shaking off the absurdity.) In summary, best baked goods, huge variety, mostly good service, sadly immature owner.
Schulers used to be the best in town, but NOT anymore!!! I called today to get a 1/4 sheet cake ordered for a birthday and they will no longer take orders as you can only get what they make and have in the store. I try to support local, but they have gone WAY downhill. I guess I will order from a big chain like Kroger or Wal-Mart as they will take a specialty order!!! Schulers you are going to run yourself out of business!!!!
I am from Cleveland, Ohio and I have never had better donuts in my life. My son attends Wittenberg University and we try to get to Schulers often. I will be coming down again before Thanksgiving to grab some of your apple fritters to take home. Schulers bakery ROCKS!!

2022-06-23I picked up donuts for my coworkers and some extra goodies for me to take home. Easily one of the best deals around. I got cookies, donuts, and a muffin...everything was delicious. I did filled- to die for, blueberry and strawberry 🍓 so very good. Got a tour and its beautiful, clean and everything is made from scratch. Perfect

2021-08-12I have always heard admiration for Shulers but this was my first visit. The doughnuts were fantastic and the coffee was even better than Id hoped! Glad I ended up there and I look forward to returning!

2022-05-01My only complaint is that I always leave with more than what I intended to buy. I always see something I either like or want to try. The doughnut holes are outstanding as always and the staff when Im there is always seem happy to be there which isnt as common in the restaurant/retail business as it should be. I definitely buy too much from Schulers but it tastes good 😅

2022-06-28Definitely! Not like it used to be, they should stop cutting ingredients & get back to the original recipes. Because this is not the Schulers I know... I dont know who thought icing a scotch brite sponge was a good idea 🤔 😕 😐

2022-05-30Being closed on Sundays and Mondays was already a bad business move considering those are the busiest days of the week. But to be closed on Memorial Day during the parade is stupid so many people have tried to get donuts this morning and pulled up to a closed sign. DO BETTER

2022-03-08Been going here since I was a little kid and tonight I experienced something I never thought I would there I was next in line and waiting to order and a lady behind me was served first over me and felt I was singled out because of my race as the server and lady was of same race I was in shock as I never experienced reverse racism and this was the last place I would expect it from
