I really enjoy good breweries, and good didnt disappoint! This one is newer to the area, however the restaurant that it comes from has a 25+ years of history in the area.I ordered a flat of beers with a salad, so I could sample the wares. The salad, which was a non lettuce salad, was chock full of nuanced flavor, having various firm yet robust vegetables, herbs and spices. All the beer was fantastic, all of it smooth with rich tones and varied bodies.I did end up taking a six home with me that I intend on sampling with my Co hosts on our podcast Bible over Brews!
Our first time here, though weve been to Das Schnitzel Haus many times. It is very cozy on the main floor and we were lucky enough to get a table by the open window. It was a beautiful day and it was like sitting on a patio. Our server Samantha was very attentive, fast and friendly. We got a pretzel appetizer, which was huge and the beer cheese sauce delicious! Not enough sauce, but still tasty. Hubby had a Pearl Road Gold, he said it was good, but hell get a different beer next time. He had a Haus Burger that he really loved. It came with fries that have a seasoning he said was a bit too spicy. I had a Schnitzel, cant remember the exact name, but it was amazing! The perfect crunch on the breading! It came topped with veggies and feta, with rice pilaf and a fresh slaw, great sides to the main dish. We took a look around after dinner. The upstairs is spacious and nicely decorated. There are two cool stained glass pieces displayed in the ceiling from the former business that was in this location. We will be back!
Beautiful interior and very spacious. They were running a bread pudding special and it was the BEST bread pudding my entire party has ever had. We hope they make it a permanent menu item. One of our party members ordered a beer sample and were charged $3 but honestly, it was a nice size sample and he didnt order a full glass after, so thats understandable. I am not a beer person, but the Kölsch was DELICIOUS. I tasted my dads and next time, Ill order my own. Cant wait to come back.
I tried all twelve of the beers. The bromacho, Mexican style lager, was my favorite. The big pretzel with beer cheese sauce was delicious, but the absolute star of the show was the salmon sliders! Absolutely delicious. The interior is gorgeous and comfortable. Looking forward to nice weather to sit outside
My husband and I came in from columbus to visit family, excited to try this new restaurant everyone in Parma seemed to be raving about. The issue started upon arrival we were informed that Schnitzel house did not have our reservation even though we had a screenshot of the confirmation. When we ordered I was informed that the pulled pork was out. No problem, so I ordered the lamb burger but made a point to the waitress that I needed it to be bun-less as I had a gluten allergy. When our food arrived the plate placed in front of me was the pulled pork with a giant piece of corn bread touching all of the food. The waitress never bothered to inform me that they were switching my dish. Even worse, was my husbands dish of lamb and hummus. I posted a picture here to show how it was totally burnt. They even placed the bread burnt side down as if he wouldn’t notice!!??
Cal (small girl with dark hair) was our server. She was extremely knowledgeable and SO helpful on helping me select a beer I’d like. She was attentive and stuck around our table for awhile chatting. She was so sweet and personable. I’d come back and ask for her section because she was a wonderful server. Thank you Cal for your positive vibes and friendly personality.
My Husband and I went here on 7/12 for our 3rd wedding anniversary dinner and we LOVED it! It was my first time being there and oh my GOSH the food was amazing. We got the pretzel and Reubens and dang, I would give 100 stars if I could. The drinks were good and our server Danielle was an absolute sweetheart, I definitely recommend going here!
Nice little brewery in Parma. Brisket was a bit tough, but I’d still go back. We stopped by on a Sunday & they were pretty busy. I’m glad about that as I totally love seeing people supporting local businesses. Got a beer flight, loved the beers. Service was a tad slow but only because it seemed as if they needed more staff. Won’t hold it against them as that seems to be the way things are today. We will definitely be back & best of luck to them!!!
I wasnt a fan of this place. The pictures of the food online are very deceiving. I thought this place was gonna have awesome food and everyone at my table was brought food that looked good but tasted really bad. Even the French fries look like they would be good but they taste stale. Chicken sliders tasted like old oil and fish. Sausage tasted bad. The corned beef sandwich was ok. Bathrooms were disgusting. Wont be returning to this place but Im excited to try the place across the street!
It was our first time coming into Schnitz Ale Brewery! It was a Saturday night, but the food and service was excellent! It was very busy, but our server made sure we were taken care of. Our server, Jules was very attentive and explained the beer-menu since my wife was not usually a beer drinker. The sausage platter had a little bit of everything. The Pearl Rose gold beer my wife loved! We will we back and highly recommend this place to visit. We even are going to join the Mug Club next time.
I was immediately amazed at the interior of this place. Its absolutely beautiful and very cozy. Theyre still in the process of opening so not everything on the menu was available, but the staff were so friendly and helpful making recommendations that it didnt matter. My bartender was a delight. Food was excellent, the sopska salata is one of the best (and biggest!) Salads Ive ever had. The beer here is also extremely good. A highly varied, but tight, draft list with something for everybody. All 5 that I tried were truly delicious. Highly recommend this spot.
I got the clam chowder which was pretty good, rich and flavorful, but lacked clams. I ordered it off the menu which it was priced at $7. The bill came with $8 price. I mentioned the error to the server and showed her the menu. Her response was that is probably an old menu, they change them all the time. She said the dinner special price on the board at the entrance, which I didnt look at, was $8. The bill was not changed to the menu price which I believe it should have. Yes, its just $1, but a new restaurant should not have old menus already, and then not honor the printed price.I dont want to steer anyone away from trying this place out, just sharing my experience.
We had our sons rehearsal dinner at Schnitz Ale Brewery. From the planning stage the staff was extremely accommodating. We sat down with them and set the menu. They worked with us on some special requests and made suggestions to better serve our guests. The night of the dinner they were well prepared, and had everything ready promptly. The hor doeuvres came out promptly after we arrived. We had a buffet dinner and fresh dessert. The beer was very good, and many of our guests had mixed drinks that they said were also exceptional. The waitress that took care of us was very professional and worked extremely hard to take care of us.
Second time at Schnitz and they did not disappoint, had the lamb burger again and again it was excellent. I have to give a shout out to our server Daniel we could not have hand picked a more pleasant and attentive young lady. Daniel is to us the epitome of pure positivity and innocence. We will definitely be back and hopefully have Daniel as our server again.
Service was FANTASTIC. Beers were great. Menu is great if you are not a vegan or vegetarian. Throw a black bean burger or something on the menu. It’s not that hard. Not all beer lovers eat meat. That said, the place is great. Nice vibe. Cute decor. A welcome addition to Parma:)
I really wanted to like this place but I think they missed the mark...There was no hostess or sign at the hostess stand so we didn’t know if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated...I had the Kolsch and it was average at best, the noodles in the cabbage/noodles was regular bow tie pasta which is an odd choice for such a traditional dish, and it was kinda dry...the spicy sausage wasn’t spicy at all, I’m wondering if they gave us the bratwurst instead....unfortunately I didn’t find actual reason to come back.
Great new spot! Interior was nicely designed. I liked the beer selection. Lots of different options that you wouldnt normally get. I got a smoky beer and their Christmas Ale, both of which liked. My wife did not get any beer and would like more options for lighter beer drinkers, but overall it was solid. Food was okay. We got a cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Wasnt a lot of soup and the cheese sandwich was small. Maybe not the best option on the menu. But we liked the vibe and I enjoyed my beers. Well definitely be back.Update: Came back and sat at the bar. Really solid spot still! Good beers, pretzel was good. Great vibes in Parma!
Saturday night, with my buddy, the IPA was flat with no head, the Dunklle was really good. The schnitzel just average, tender but I would not order it again. The French 75 was a great end to our meal. The service was good and the re-vamped building is very nice. Parking, good luck, they say the beauty shop across the street is ok with you parking there at night.
Came in the afternoon and the bartender and server, Gerard, was so wonderful. He was attentive, professional, so knowledgeable about the menu, and all alcohol in general. Their cocktail sounded okay, and I mentioned I like spicy drinks, so he even muddled some jalapeños he found in the back and made the drink so much yummier. If I come back, it will be because of him. Cheers 🍻
Schnitz Ale Brewery is a companion location to Das Schnitzel Haus, which is a long time main stay in the Parma community. The brewery, which is directly across the street, has very good beers made in-house. A huge shout out to the whole crew who’s crafting these fine beverages. If for anything go there for these beers! The staff was great as well, and offered good service. The food is falling a bit short compared to their parent restaurant across the street. I feel they are still working through their menu and the kinks. I’ll definitely be back for the drinks, and we’ll give the food another go around to see if the teams worked things out in fine tuning the menu soon.
Wanted to enjoy this newer establishment. Good service, appealing inside. Food was not sadly. Deluxe breadstick itself was good but with overly plentiful condiments, very spicy mustard and weirdly grained cheese dip. Overpriced at $20. Lamb burger was terrible, the eggrolls stale with no flavor. Little was eaten. Brat burger was ok. Disappointing. Beer was good.
Overall pretty good food depending on what day or time your here, ( I assume the cooks change) but all 3 times Ive been here the service has been horrible, people that show up after you get served their food before you(even though you only dered first), when the place is out of something i.e. pulled pork or German chocolate brownie they wait like 20 minutes to tell you . overall the beer is good, but the food and service is so inconsistent. I may not come back a 4th time.
I was very excited about this opening and came the second day! First , the place: pretty and well done. Good ambiance. Perfect music selections. Girls at bar doing a good job and friendly.Food: great and not! Great was the brisket sandwich! A repeat👍🏻 The “smothered pretzel”….terrible. Pretzel thin and hard; difficult to even get a piece. Not much “smothered” except for lots of green onions….?! Why. Yuck. Tried 2 flights of beer ($12 a pop). Nothing to make me come back for more.I understand they just opened yesterday and it’s a soft opening, but lots to fix on food and looking forward to more beer choices.
Like others, we were really excited to check this place out, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to our hopes. The highlight of the experience is the German chocolate brownie with ice cream. This was absolutely incredible. I’ll go back just for the brownie. The pros - the building is beautiful and it was very pleasant sitting there. The food also felt reasonably priced and decent sized portions. The cons - service was very slow. They were busy, so it’s understandable, but over two hours for dinner for three is slow. It took a long time to get our check when we were done as well. There didn’t seem to be a lot of organization with the hostess and seating. It took a long time for anyone to acknowledge we were there, and the hostess didn’t seem to have a handle on seating. Also understandable considering it’s relatively new and staff may be inexperienced. A lot of items were also out of stock which was disappointing. A lot of the food didn’t taste fresh - the French fries tasted like frozen, the soft pretzel was not good, and the bratwurst was ok. Also, parking is a mess there. It seems that they’re doing work on the lot, but we couldn’t find a spot and the lot was tight and difficult to navigate.
The place is extremely nice, love the location, beer is serviceable, but the service was horrendous. Speaking as a former server of a downtown Cleveland restaurant I am very forgiving when it comes to service, but wow Suzy I gotta say that was an all time worst showing. Seemingly a man from the kitchen or a host came out to get our first round of drinks. Then our server came around to see what we want. We already had our drinks so we were ok. First round is down and we’re waiting to order our second round (mind you we also needed to order our apps from the guy that wasn’t our server). Server finally stops by. We order 2 of the same drink, easy order one might think, but you would be wrong. We got one drink, waited at least 20-30 minutes and then went to the bar to get the missing drink. Second round goes down and once again we need to go to the bar to get our drinks because this time not a single drink got delivered. We never even got a chance to order food either. We’d ask for one drink and she’d turn around before we could ask for anything else. If the place wasn’t in a great location relative to downtown it wouldn’t have a lot of room to breathe, but this was a horrible first showing.
We got there within 15 minutes of opening. Staff was really friendly. The food was great - loved their reuben! No fatty corned beef and not over piled on their sandwich. Our waitress was Danielle and she was attentive to our waters needing refilled. We will definitely come back!
First and foremost huge fan of sister restaurant das schnitzel haus. Decor was amazing they perfectly executed everything down to beer stein chandelier. Food was great, love that it included a few favorites from across the street. Only downside was the wait staff was slammed... They were working their butts off and service was a little slow but totally worth it! Took beers home and a shirt will absolutely be back despite the fact that its a 30 minute drive!
So I was very excited about the opening of this brewery, and it is very nice inside, the beer prices are reasonable, and the service was good. Unfortunately, the food and beers are underwhelming. I tried the IPA, the Xmas ale, and the stout. They were all below average-most local breweries have much better versions of each style. The grilled chicken salad was okay but not great. The chicken was dry and flavorless and the amount of feta cheese was pitifully small. Finally, the brisket sandwich was too fatty and tough. I really hope they make some improvements because I want to see this place succeed.
We are very excited about the opening of this brewery!!I like that the food is not the typical, over fried, bar food. Very tasty! We had the pretzel & grilled cheese w/ tomato soup. Also, we enjoyed the ambiance of the brewery. Very very cool!!!!We will definitely be back!Congratulations!
Atmosphere fine but the food is very average and over priced for what you get. Lamb burger bland, fries from the Walmart freezer section, beet salad tasteless. Pretzel appetizer average. Hope they up their game so they stick around because it has potential but changes needed fast.
Was really excited to check this place out, but they werent prepared for an early weekend opening. We showed up at 1:30. No one greeted us, no sign indicating it was seat yourself. We did, eventually, confirm this detail as a man serving drinks said yeah when I asked as he rushed past.Headed upstairs and came down to order drinks. There appeared to be one bartender/server for the entire room. Took about 15 minutes just for three drinks to be servee. I later came down to the bar to order food and another round of beers. Food hadnt materialized by 30 minutes later and we couldnt get an answer on where it was or when it was coming. We had been asked to cash out up front, so I didnt have much recourse as I had my wife and 7 year old with me. We left our paid-for food and headed home.I would have reached out to them directlybut theres still no contact info available and we didnt have much success talking to anyone when we were there. The drinks were great and so was the atmosphere. Better staffing will probably help and we look forward to trying again (they were polite when you could get someone) but first time was a poor experience.
First off the GM and hostess were awesome. The beer is also amazing...food is ok. Our waitress was probably the worst waitress Ive ever had. She literally took our order and got EVERYTHING wrong. Also she brought us absolutely nothing. Everyone but her brought us food and drinks. She charged us for multiple items we didnt order.
Service was not very good.. I can definitely over look that however the presentation of the food was poor.. you charge almost $20 for a sausage platter and it comes out on a plain plate with fries and 2 sausage.. just very non appetizing.. food was also not very warm I received it..
I cant say enough about this place. If you enjoy a great craft beer and excellent food you must check this place out. Recently opened. Reasonably priced beer and food.If youre into seasonal beers, give their Zen master (October fest) a try. Their Schnitzel ale original gangster is a true stout beer. You can purchase a flight for $10. They also fill growlers. All their brewing is done in house...As for their food, think of craft food. If you like corned beef you must try the smoked corned beef sandwich. It just melts in your mouth. The lamb burger is also noteworthy. The inside of the brewery was spotless. Very clean and very organized. The parking lot was just repaved. They will be adding a new patio and down the road they will be adding a second story to that new patio.

2022-02-27We had excellent service and the beer was very good. The schnitzel sliders were very delicious and the brisket sandwich was very good. The fries were also fried perfectly which so few places do perfectly. Its also really well done inside. Cozy spot.

2022-02-12We came because of the Cleveland Brewery Passport. The beer was cold and delightful. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The stars of the table were the wings and Ruben sandwich. The only criticism I have is no changing tables in the bathroom for families.

2022-01-25First time trying this brewery. Here are my concerns.Went on a Tuesday and got there when it opened at 3:00 p.m.. There was only one parking spot left in a very small parking lot. No one was in the brewery itself, but there was a party going on upstairs. Other patrons will now have to park across the street at the Beer Garden. Definitely need to rethink their parking. There were three people smoking right at the entrance. I dont mind if you smoke but it should be a way from their front entrance. They need to improve their beer selection. Only 8 were available.

2022-04-17Beautiful place, with a nice food menu and good beer selection. It was our first time here, service was slow, but the biggest disappointment was the beer....We sat at the bar where we were able to see that when ever a server pulled a tap nothing but foam came out. So much foam that they filled pitchers with the foam, when the foam settled in the pitcher, you would get your beer poured from that pitcher. Needless to say this resulted in warm, flat beer. Hopefully they get this issue rectified.

2022-04-27Delicious, clean, great service. My husband is Polish , so we are always on the lookout for authentic European food. This restaurant was perfect. Different variety of sausages, tasty hot fries, excellent sałat!!

2022-05-23This place has a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. They have a good selection of custom brews and a decent menu. The menu has a decent selection without being overbearing and complicated. However you should like German food.

2022-02-03First time visiting Cleveland and I’m very delighted this is the place I chose to dine in with friends. The decor is beautifully done. The beer was delicious and the food was outstanding. I had the lamb burger and I wish I knew the recipe to make it back home. My server was very kind and helpful, I wish I remembered her name but I hope she will be there the next time I stop in because I definitely will be back. I heard they have a German restaurant across the street, I will definitely give them a try too.

2022-04-08When visiting breweries there are many things you look at when visiting, like if they have food, good selection of their beers or even parking. The food here was great but the drinks could have been a little different from other German places. If you wanna go here try and go early so you wont have to look for parking since their lot is small.

2022-03-13Great service. Had the Sausage platter, will definitely get it again ! 3 different sausages, Spetzel and Fries came with it also ordered a Flight of beers 🍻 Spouse had the Ruben Sandwhich which came with Fries only. Look forward too going back soon.
