Save A Lot in other cities:
Food not very fresh, went to save a lot again today and was charged for bags even though I was using food stamps, when I informed the cashier that I was using food stamps and bags should be free she called for the manager who informed me that the couldnt give away their bag okay so I have decided to shop else where. I am retired and on a fixed income which my retirement income is so little that I qualify for food stamps. Im sending you on a journey I would rather go somewhere else even if the food is just a little bit more expensive to get fresh food and where they can afford to let someone on a fixed income as well as on food stamps have their bags for free. Now please forgive me if Im wrong about being able to use your food stamps to buy food and receive the bags to bag them up free anyway Ive decided to shop elsewhere. Im praying about your policies as well as the freshness of your food.
Great selection of anything you could want, generally. I found nail polish remover for a buck a bottle, but its lavender scented and purple, and probably not very strong! Great selection of meats, which is the other thing I went for. Got two real delicious steaks for under $12.
One of the most over priced stores compared to Kroger or Walmart. Some of the food is nearly close to being outdated therefore tasting terrible for example i bought powered donuts and they tastes salty and expired in 2 days. and most of the time the items i’m looking for are out of stock which means no business. the check out times are slow occasionally. don’t believe the hype of “cheapest prices” online because save a lot is far from that. i mean they don’t carry any name brands so why are they charging high prices for off brands for the same price as name brands? highly not recommended to shop at this place!
Took the car in to buy key fobs and have them programmed. When I picked it up check engine light was on. It was not previously on on the trip to Valentine. Brought it home and checked it out myself. The freeze frame said. The motor was not turning RPMs When the light came on.
Excellent prices. Masks are enforced, as per state mandate. Aisles are pretty wide, so this helps with social distancing. Bring your own shopping bags, as this is one of the ways the store keeps prices low. Dont expect to find every brand under the sun, as this is not like going to Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, etc., but you will find the essentials. They also carry a lot of generic branded items, another way to keep prices low.
I used to shop there 2 to 3 times a week. Last Thursday I went during a peak time 530/545pm there wasnt too many people. There was a couple improperly wearing their masks and not an employee said anything to them. They proceeded to check out and had to return half their cart cause they didnt have the cash or whatever the situation was. The cashier didnt tell the couple about mask wearing and no distiancing was involved between him and the couple exchanging the returned items. I didnt do the Karen thing complain and start a scene but it is sort of indicative how covid is spreading through out but no one actually pratices preventative procedures. I just walked out in disgust leaving the cart of stuff I collected.
The Fairborn Save A Lot is very clean and well organized. They have everything you need except for specialty items I can get elsewhere. Also they have the best prices around for staple goods. Their limited selection is great for when I have to take the kids grocery shopping with me because they arent asking for all the do-dads that other places put out to catch their eye. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Just cant say enough nice things about my local Save A Lot. My only concerns are these: Im seeing a lot more name brand items at higher prices than the Save A Lot brands, and they switched from Fairgrounds brand meets to Bar-S, which I think taste terrible. Other than that, I love the place!
Between the new Kroger being excessively big and the new price drops on a bunch of Save a lots items, I find myself here a lot more than Kroger now. The store is clean and the prices are good, limited selections but Im indecisive anyway so it helps Haha. There is one cashier there that I always try to get in her line. Her name in Myisha (spelling?) And shes a doll! Very friendly and the one time I miscounted, she didnt make me few low for having to take something of my order ❤
Great store has reasonable prices not alot of food choices compared to walrmart target and krogers etc. But has some interesting choices to chose from sure you need to bring a reuseable bag but aside from that after making a few purchases from here and not living far from the apartments to get here its wonderful recommend this store by far
Horrible I waited for a long time to get checked out while 3 girls stood around talking about some lady that use to work there & if they hired her back how they would quit smh who knew going to get 1 gallon of milk would require to have to listen to some BS before anyone would be compelled to check me out. Trash at it finest

2022-03-08I have never really had any problems with the quality of food that is purchased. Prices have always been reasonable, and I am usually in and out fairly quickly. Customer service has not been high quality. Staff usually do not say much and are quick to get customers through. I feel like there is not really an emphasis on customer service, and this would be my only suggestion for improvement. Overall, a convenient place to shop..

2022-06-20Selection isn’t all that great. Sometimes they have a variety of foods in stock other times not. Secondly sometimes the staff are good at getting you in and out, other times not. If not for these I would give the place five stars. On a positive note, the store is usually always kept very clean

2022-01-11DONT PARK IN THE FIRE LANE!!!Its a good grocery store. Most of the products are quality, they have a good variety, meat department is stacked, and the produce department! Fresh and delicious produce, especially the fruit. BUT. If you are one who likes to pull up in the fire lane and drop off a friend or loved one, then wait if they are only going in and out, I recommend a different plan for your approach. The manager here has a pet peeve for parking in the fire lane. He WILL come outside and approach you. He WILL ask you to park in a designated parking area. He WILL be extremely POLITE and RESPECTFUL in his mannerisms as he stands his ground, and, he WILL call the police if you ultimately wont move. I liked him. =-)

2021-12-04Store was very clean and organized. Cashier was Fantastic! We purchased Coffee that was clearly marked on sale. It was on a end cap. Got home and discovered it rang Up $8.49 And should have been on sale for $5.49. Unfortunately we live to far away to go back for a refund.

2021-08-03This is a nice neighborhood store. Staff plentiful and friendly. Nice clean, wide aisles. Youre not going to find forty kinds of olives here. But the four kinds they do stock are plenty good for me.
