I was somewhat disappointed in the room I stayed in. It was one of their best rooms, a king suite, so I was expecting a better experience. The couches were very uncomfortable, when you sat down it felt like the the cushions and springs were shot and was hard on the back so I couldnt sit on them. Bad furniture is common in cheaper hotels, I wasnt expecting it here. The cleaning wasnt terrible, but I was expecting better. There was a small coffee maker in the room, but no cream, sugar or coffee stirs. The towels were very rough and cheap, again something Id expect in a cheaper hotel. When you pay for a top notch room, you should get what you pay for.
We use this hotel everytime family comes to visit. We get the same room (if available) everytime! Staff is great, kind and accommodating to the best of their abilities. Great place to stay! Kids love the pool and game room! The area outside of our room has a bench to sit at and look at the pond. Great with morning coffee!
The double rooms were great. We had a first floor room with a sliding door out to the courtyard. Gorgeous! Our room had a cookie waiting for each expected guest and the continental breakfast was adequately stocked with a variety of items. My only issue is that the pool is in a main area, so when crowded and in use, the common area with tables gets too loud to use if wanting a conversation space. Would definitely recommend and well be back!
The hotel is very nice and its convenient because its right next to the village. The staff is very friendly and the entire place was very clean. They do have regulated hours on the pool right for the amount of people that can swim but because we went during the week there was hardly anybody there and we had the entire pool to ourselves. If youre going to check out Sauder Village this makes a very convenient place to stay and enjoy the area.
For such a small little town this inn has a lot to offer. The room was very nice with a very large bathroom and sink. The sheets and bed were both very comfy. All of the workers I had the pleasure of talking with were all extremely polite and kind. The breakfast that was served was good both times I ate there and offered a wide selection of choices, some being healthy. Would stay again the next time I am in the area!
The Sauder Heritage Inn is absolutely beautiful. They have done an amazing job of combining old world charm with new amenities. The entry and lobby feel like entering an old German castle with amazing woodwork and a tall fireplace. There are quiet little spaces throughout the hotel that make you feel like youre in a forest. The amenities are modern and well kept and do not distract from the charm of the hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel for families or couples looking for time away.
This hotel is an amazing bargain. The entire building is a nicely-crafted and very spacious timber frame. Rooms are comfortable and quiet and everything is well-maintained.Right next door to the hotel is a banquet hall, a bakery, a sit-down restaurant, and Sauders village.
Amazing views everywhere. Fantastic pool and hot tub and even waterfall. Room is spacious for three people to comfortably share. The soaps and stuff are really nice bottles that dont get used up in one go. The fitness room is nice with a really great view overlooking the pool and oak. Staff are all pleasant and friendly. Definitely recommend a stay. Worth every penny.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The guest rooms are always clean and comfortable (complete with complimentary cookies), the pool and hot tub area is great for families with kids, and there is a wonderful hot breakfast served daily. The last time we stayed here, I noticed that they have replaced the small individual shampoo and body wash bottles with large refillable bottles in the guest room showers - Im really impressed that theyve taken this step to reduce single use plastic consumption. I definitely recommend the Heritage Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Archbold area - by far the best hotel you can find.
We visited the Heritage Inn for a quiet weekend away. We were greeted by a friendly staff member, who overheard our conversation about dinner. She immediately offered a cheaper rate for us, which included 2 meals at the nearby Barn Restaurant. We enjoyed a fun dinner at Moms Diner in downtown Archbold, as well as brunch the next day at The Barn . On Saturday, we drove through the renovated Lockport Covered Bridge en route to Harrison Lake State Park. The park has a lovely circa 3 mile loop around the lake for a relaxing bit of exercise, which was a welcome pastime, especially after brunch at The Barn. We had reserved a room in the original section of the inn. It was very large, clean, comfortable, with high speed internet and a private covered porch overlooking farm fields. Perfect for a weekend away!
Stayed here with a group of my family, we had about 6 rooms between all of us and the inn was VERY accommodating. The lobby was beautiful and very inviting, the room was incredibly clean and well stocked with all the necessities including a delicious homemade cookie. We ate at the Barn restaurant, where we had great service. The food is a little bland, and not many options for a buffet, but we were thankful that they made room for our large party. The only real complaint I have about the place is not about the Inn directly but about the village, I was really disappointed to arrive at 5:15pm on a Saturday evening and ALL the shops were already closed, and not open on Sunday either. I feel I missed a large portion of the experience by not getting to visit any of the shops. However, I should have checked hours and left sooner! Lesson learned. Definitely recommend this place for families, I didnt use the pool and hot tub but it looked so nice and the kids that were playing seemed to really be enjoying it!
We have stayed here over the holidays ever since it was built in 1994. It is our favorite hotel! Everything in the game room has been well loved and is overdue for replacement but it doesnt keep the kids from using it. Breakfast is great, and so is the coffee. Very close to 80/90 and convenient for travel. Older section has larger rooms and we prefer them but showers are nicer in the newer expansion.
This place was absolutely fantastic. Very well maintained and inviting. The staff was friendly throughout the entire complex. The breakfast served was the best Ive had at a small chain hotel. The bed was comfortable and the soaps included were delightful! The only thing I would have changed was the temperature of the spa could have been a bit warmer, otherwise this place was absolutely perfect. We will definitely return.
I have to say that going into the trip, I wasnt entirely sure what to expect of this hotel. Sometimes the non-chain hotels can be hit or miss. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and the staff that I interacted with were all nice and super helpful. Overall it was a great experience!
We stayed at the Heritage Inn Campground. Very nice. Very clean. The newer section has small trees, but they will grow. The staff is very good. I suggest reservations, especially on weekends. They will fill up for many of the weekend events at the Sauder Village. The Barn Restaurant is a very good place to eat. Monday is Senior Night. The Doughbox Bakery is an excellent Bakery.
The building was beautiful and the pool room was the coolest Ive ever seen. It had a nice stone design with a waterfall that really helped set the atmosphere. Infact the entire place just felt cozy and relaxing. Not to mention free cookies and the best complimentary breakfast Ive ever had.
We attended a birthday party in the rec/pool/dining area. The kids enjoyed the play table, the pool, the game room. My son (4) especially enjoyed the air hockey table and the waterfall in the pool. As a parent, I appreciated that my littler ones (2yr old twins) could walk around and play without my fearing their falling in the pool, as it was well gated. All while I was able to watch my older son and interact with him while he swam with his dad. The facility was clean. The few staff I encountered where polite, well dressed, and helpful. I would love to attend and possibly even host future events at this location.
Had a great experience as we always do. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the facilities are well taken care of. Room was nice, meeting space was nice and the pool area was nice. Good for the event was good as always, will be back in the near future for a fun time with the family.
We wanted a special place for the night of our daughters graduation - the BW Mariemont was awesome!!They greet you well, the hotel is well appointed. The rooms are at once quaint and modern. It felt comfortable, yet great bathrooms/showers.It really did provide a special evening for us.Breakfast is not included - but the prices were fair and the food was yummy.
My girlfriend and her family invited me to stay with them to the Sauders Heritage Inn. The inn was very well furnished, beautiful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and cozy, with small ponds decorating sitting areas across the Inn. The pool was very nice (a little chilly initially for my taste) with a hot tub that was more to my liking. There are also other common area rooms, comfortable couches and chairs scattered about the resort. Overall an excellent place to visit.
Great every year I go! Pool and hot tub are excellent, great free breakfast, and nice rooms. The Great Oak Tree is great because the pool is next to it and the breakfast seating area is there, too. Thats my favorite part of the hotel. If you want to plan an event, this is the place to go. Founders Hall is amazing, and the hotel has many great meeting and gathering rooms. Also has the benefit of having Sauder Village next door, and the amazing Barn Restaurant. Free Doughbox Bakery cookies with your room, too! π
Very nice hotel. Fresh baked cookie on the night stand was nice. Large flat screen LG tv in the room, patio with bench and country view behind the room. Large bathroom, soap, hand lotion, body soap, shampoo and conditioner all supplied in the room. 9/10 rating, bed was very firm.
Words cant even capture just how awesome this place is. The rooms are spacious, the corridors are beautifully decorated, theres quiet hours to ensure everyone has a relaxing stay, theres comfortable furniture everywhere so you dont have to stay in your room to read or watch tv. I could go on anf on about this place. And that doesnt even include the hot tub, pool with waterfall, ponds indoor and outdoor, the exercise room, the balconies... Yep this place is worth every penny and more. And they even offer packages that include coupons for the restaurant and tickets for the Village. For the rest, just check out the pictures.
Weve been meeting here several years for our Grandsons Birthday. This is halfway point for us, and them, Indiana and Michigan. Always look forward to visiting here. The Sauder Inn is very BEAUTIFUL, relaxing and accomodating. Very Thankful for reclining chair in our room, just had shoulder surgery cant sleep in bed. Thanks so much ππ
If you are visiting Sauder Village, Sauder Heritage Inn is the ideal place to stay. The hotel is family friendly, the rooms large , comfortable, and nicely appointed. Dining options nearby are a bit limited. Sauder Village is a delightful destination if you love to learn about local history and crafts.
I stayed at the Sauder Heritage Inn during a recent conference. The Inn is disappointingly sterile. I expected a more charming, homey ambience. There was nothing special about the accommodations nor the breakfast that came with the overnight stay. The cost was quite reasonable. So if you are looking for just another conference center, this is the place for you.
The Heritage Inn is a fun-filled yet relaxing stay in a beautiful Inn. Β You suddenly feel at home when you enter the beautiful timber-frame lobby. Β Throughout the Inn there are beautiful fireplaces, atriums, comfortable furniture and natural wood timbers. Β There is a fantastic indoor pool with a waterfall and hot tub. Β Adjacent to the pool is a game room that will keep the entire family busy with various games including an air hockey table and Foosball. If you enjoy camping, you might want to check out the campground - tent and RV camping are available.
A relaxing place with all the amenities! Walking into the barn structure lobby with seating around a large fireplace, you immediately feel right at home. Amenities include a game room, exercise room, and meeting rooms. The breakfast is large, amazing, and includes a variety of warm options, baked goods, yogurt, and fresh fruit.
If you find yourself in the middle of nowhere Ohio, stop by. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool space was well maintained and beautiful, and the free breakfast had tons of yummy choices all for an incredibly reasonable price. The little chunk of property also has a restaurant, bakery, and old timey village.
Close to home and chose this unstead of Kalahari bc it had hot tub and pool. I have been here before and it has been a normal hotel stay, but my review is based off my current stay with my girls. Paid $132 or so for 1 night away from home that is 10 min away and came to swim and hot tub. Come to find out the hot tub is not working for our stay time! No one told me and I was not offered a discount. I told them we just came to enjoy the water for a night and was never informed of the hot tub situatiin. I could be at Kalahari for another $40!!! Tons to do, several hot tubs, everything in order and running! I am so upset honestly. Next time will choose Holiday Inn when I want a night away from the house.
What a marvelous family-friendly place!! We very much enjoyed our stay. Souder Villiage is the main draw here. It is very similar to the Ohio Historical Villiage or Connor Prarie. The hotel staff was so friendly. Very clean facilities. Food was extremely good. I would call it Amish in character. Full disclosure - the facility is dry. This is a nice place for an event like a family reunuion.
My vehicle broke down and I needed a place to stay overnight. I picked the Sauder Heritage Inn. The service was excellent and the staff was wonderful. The facilities were very, very good.In spite of my problems with my vehicle the stay was enjoyable and I HIGHLY recommend the Sauder Heritage Inn.

2022-04-22Really, really nice place in contrast to the vast majority of Ohio. Beautiful entrance, courteous staff (I drove 8.5 hours from Chantilly, VA and arrived at 4am), fast check in and gorgeous room. Very nice area too. I was so tired I couldnt enjoy anything but I will 100% be back. I felt very safe parking my business vehicle in the lot which is a HUGE plus!

2022-05-06I loved this hotel. It was stunning inside. The pool was great. The hot tub was large, but not super hot. The rooms were very comfortable. Continental breakfast was wonderful. I definitely want to visit again.

2021-12-28My family and I are from North Idaho, just moved to Michigan a couple months ago and are staying with in-laws and thought a getaway it to Saunder Village was just what we needed! Beautiful location, pool and hot tub are amazing but the overall stay was highly disappointing. My three-year-old grandson found pills underneath our TV stand and swallowed two of themβ¦ He told us right away and my daughter made him throw up. (My grandson is okay, it was just Ibuprofen 200) I quickly rushed down to the front desk to let them know what had happened. The lady working that night was very concerned and helped us with calling poison control but when she brought the general manager down, Steve, he kind of chuckled about the whole thing, and said that they were short staffed. I was not sure how to take that but he said he would take some off the bill for the inconvenienceβ¦ When I went to go check out, he took off $50. Honestly I thought that was a slap in the face as this couldβve been a very bad situation. They charged us for Christmas dinner when we bought the package and got to $30 gift cards to the barn restaurant and they said that they can just use that towards the Christmas dinner but I still got charge for two adult meals and when I called the manager Melissa to ask her about it she was very rude and said they already took off $50 and that should be enough. I donβt live far from the Sauder Village and I stopped in the gift shop a couple of days before staying at the hotel and the ladies in the gift shop didnβt even acknowledge me when I walked in, I walked around for about 15 minutes and all they did was gossip about people around town dropping names and what not never asked if I needed help or anything. For this to be a family owned business I am highly disappointed in my full experience with the Sauder Village.

2021-09-06Such a beautiful hotel! My family has stayed several times, but usually during the winter. This stay in late summer was lovely. We took a walk through the hotel and found lots of place to tuck in and read a book (look for the sharing libraries throughout the place) or just relax, as well as beautiful landscaping. Besides that, the hotel is very clean, staff is usually friendly enough, the pool is large (and as of this posting, fully open) and clean. There is a nice patio outside the pool area. Breakfast features the usual findings as well as hot foods such as scrambled eggs and sausage, premade waffles to toast, fruit cups, applesauce, etc. (Also fully open as of this posting.) The room doesnt have a microwave but the one in the breakfast area is available for guest use. Our room on the first floor also had a bench outside the sliding door, so we took some time to sit outside in the quiet. Youll also find fresh cookies in your room when you check in. If you want a relaxing place to stay that the kids will enjoy, Sauders is sure to please!

2021-08-03Rooms were clean and quite. Beds were soft with fluffy pillows. Rooms were very affordable. Will stay again, but there are two issues....I couldnt get on wifi as no one gave us the password. The note in the room says to call the front desk for help, but no one answered. Maybe its on one of the pieces of paper my dad had but as he paid for the rooms so I couldnt check. Large pool, but too many unaccompanied kids. The hotel rules are children under 15 should be supervised. During check-in we were given wrist bands for my kid nephews. There were 4 loud 12 year old boys who were going in and out the side door by the patio. Then making all kinds of noise at the pool. If these were hotel guests they did not have on their wristbands.
