Sam Ash Music Stores in other cities:
Im a repeat customer with over 39 years as a local player- more if you count the time I had to blow in a clarinet, this is your place! Ive purchased a handful of guitars, amps, and other gear here plus utilized the education department. The staff is welcoming, supportive and fair. Your family is safe to be there without you and the place offers in store events players will gain from. Recently my dad said Getting you that guitar turned out to be a good thing for you. Listen to me, years pass, this will add substance, skills , meaning, character and appreciation in life. Its a no brainer so just go there and avoid the shady characters and practices elsewhere!
Sam Ash never fails to be a great place to spend some time exploring the latest in musical equipment. The staff are extremely helpful and honest. Im always impressed by the variety, quality, and presentation of their offerings. The store is really friendly about letting customers get time in on the merchandise too! They are (like all music stores) trying hard to replenish their stock while instrument manufacturers are sealing with manufacturing issues.
Our experience was very satisfying, Friendly and helpful sales staff. We drove approx. 80 miles originally going to the Guitar Center adjacent to your store, they did not appear to care if we made a purchase or not, the salesman that finally approached us was very rude.Glad we checked you folks out, kept us from wasting a trip. Will check you out first in the future.Pricing is the same in evrey6 store we have checked on line or in store.
I just over the weekend trade it in and Electric LTD EC 1000 Deluxe and the Sam Ash team were very fair and what they offered me for the guitar and the case, no complaints. The inventory of the acoustic guitars was a little light when I went there but they still had a few good choices and I found a Martin acoustic that I wound up buying for a great deal. All n all, very happy as always with SamAsh! Thank you guys.
Jack did a setup on my guitar and did a great job. He addressed my concerns and was really nice. My guitar sounds, plays, and even looks so much better. Thank you, Jack. If you buy your instrument here, the extended service plan is a great deal for regular maintenance. I also had my eye on a practice amp. Karthik offered to help me and showed me options based on my needs. Thanks to Karthik I found a nice amp that had just what I wanted. Great price, too.The sales manager, Chris D. and Sixton were very nice and helpful. Sixton gave me good advice in helping me make my choice and Chris was very fair and extremely helpful. Even though they were busy, I still felt like a valued customer. I will definitely be back. Thanks so much!Back again. Jack goes above and beyond. Tremendously helpful.
I purchased a guitar for my boyfriend and the associate who helped me was very helpful. I then purchased an organ for my granddaughter and that associate was also pleasant and very helpful. I didnt have to wait for help and they helped educate me since I have very little knowledge on this topic.Debbie Collins
Originally went to Guitar center and had asked 2 different employees at different times during my visit to go over a couple amps I was interested in purchasing. Well I apparently wasn’t worth their time.So I go over to Sam Ash and right away Tyler asked if I needed any help. He then accompanied me to each amp I was interested in and went over all the differences with me between them.He also gave me a 10% discount.I had even stated at Guitar Center I would be purchasing a amp today but they could care less.I so wanted to walk back in there with the amp I purchased from Sam Ash and tell the two dudes that blew me off they missed out on a decent commission, but I didn’t. ( Sam Ash and Guitar Center in Cincinnati are like 2 min away from one another). To sum it all up. Sam Ash is awesome and Guitar Center Blows! Thanks Tyler. Will definitely go through you and Sam Ash for the rest of my musical needs👍PS. Hit up my dude Tyler Wilson for your musical needs🤘
I came in to buy a bass guitar. I had no idea what I was looking for when I came in and Tyler helped me. He was so kind and informative. I could tell he just loved music and wanted to help people find an instrument they were incredibly happy with. Even though it was pretty busy he made sure to swing back to me to make sure I was getting everything I needed to try and was able to ask all the questions I wanted to ask. I never felt like I was waiting. Even though he was technically the drum guy he was very knowledgeable about guitars and that part of the store. I felt so good about my purchase. Price was decent and the bass and amp I bought are good quality and I’m having a blast learning to play. I would spend all my time and money in that store if I could!!!
I simply love my shopping experience at Sam Ash! Gerald is simply the greatest sales rep ever! He stays busy but he is always there to help, assist, and just answer your questions! I like Sam Ash better than that other stare that has Guitar and Center in there name. Sam Ash prices are a little better and you get better and a more knowledgeable staff that is passionate about music. My only knock against San Ash are the hours! I drove over at like 10 expecting the store to be opened and it wasn’t! They don’t open till Noon even on Saturday! There were like 5 cars in the parking lot waiting for the to open. I feel they should open at 10:00! Other than that, it is a great experience. I’ve purchased several mics and audio and drum equipment and it’s always great! Thanks Gerald for your advice and assistance!Christopher Short, Chicago/Cincinnati
Tyler was great! I knew what I wanted in a guitar and he was awesome in setting me up with a solid travel amp that meets my needs. Not only that, but he was very chill with my kids running around the whole time. At the end of the transaction, he thanked me for my patience since they were super busy. I was floored. I thought he was the one being patient with me! Just another trip to Sam Ash where the staff that I interact with is friendly, genuinely enthusiastic, and kind!
I was looking for an acoustic guitar for my ten year old daughter . The sales person took the extra time to make sure she found the perfect guitar for her. They were very knowledgeable and made sure she was 100% comfortable with the feel and fit of the guitar. They made her experience with buying her first guitar very enjoyable. She loves it and hasn’t stopped playing!
Myself and my 15 year old son went into Sam Ash for a repair on his snare drum. It turned out to be a very simple fix—one we could do on our own. Although we weren’t buying anything or spending any money on repairs, we were given much time and attention. The associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. After such a great experience we decided to just look around and wound up buying a hi hat cymbal. I am a firm believer that courtesy and respect go a long way, and if you treat people right, they will come back. We will definitely come back to Sam Ash for my son’s drum needs!
We were there to find a used bass amp for my son. Thanks to sam ashs used gear section, we did find one in good shape at a reasonable price. The staff was helpful and even knocked off a few bucks for us. Ive always had a good experience at this location and recommend it if youre hunting for an instrument.
Greeted upon entering the store. At Sam Ash, this is nothing special as someone is always sitting at the counter when you come in. But, at least they acknowledge you.Every time I’ve gone in, regardless of what it is I’m looking for, they’ve usually got it in stock. I was just looking for strings for my acoustic guitar, but they had a large variety to choose from. Also, every time I’ve been in, an associate has asked if I’m finding what I need or if I need help, or if I have questions about anything.
My wife and I purchased a guitar for our granddaughters birthday. The selections at Ash are enormous and cover a broad spectrum of guitars. We especially liked the sample room where she was able to try out and play a number of guitars on her own without any salesperson interference. They were quickly available if you requested. The price ranges are attractive and the whole experience was outstanding.
I was there on 6/8/21. (Cincinnati Store) I bought a Violin for my daughter and Hannah M, who helped me, was Fantastic. She gave me a brief lesson on what to look for and explained why. She schooled me on how to maintain the bow as well . I have made several purchases there over the years and this was my best shopping experience Ive ever had.Thank you Hanna!
I could not have asked for a better experience here. Amateur acoustic guitar player looking to expand to an electric, Jeff was there and took time to explain the different types of guitars, helped me find an amazing guitar in my price range, helped me get set up with an amp and I actually felt comfortable leaving. I’m so happy with my purchase, this after having been to a few stores and done research online. And I’ve got 30 days to make sure I like everything! I will absolutely go back here. Selection is amazing. Jeff is the man.
Ordered my son a set of cymbals online and they were at our door within three days. The cymbals came well boxed so they would not be damaged in shipping and were exactly what I ordered. One additional positive is that Sam Ash is on Amazon which allowed me to use Amazon gift cards. Thanks Sam Ash!
Needed a new splash cymbal and a heavy duty stand. The store personnel were limited but when one finally finished with a talkative customer they approached me and answered all my questions and I ended up buying a few more drum accessories. About a half hour before this I had visited the Guitar Center and it was an awful experience especially in the drum center. I picked out a $300 cymbal and stand rig I wanted to buy but I was informed they had no employee working in percussion. I approached a manager working on store signage and told him I needed help and he said he would be with me an a moment. I waited for 20 minutes in the drum section and he never came back so I just left and went to Sam Ash and actually bought better gear with an employee that cared for the customer.
I went to Sam Ash in the Cincinnati, Ohio (Tri-County) location to find snare sticks for my sons best friend.. The employee Lucky did his best to help us and then his co-worker was able to help me find some when I located them online... Walked out a satisfied customer.. Thank you
The store looked like a ghost town. Only three employees around and they were not helpful. The man at the door desk was overwhelmed by phone calls and was very frustrated. Couldn’t answer my questions. Kept saying the person to ask would be back in about five minutes. Since he couldn’t verify my purchase I will be returning it today as it was the wrong item. What happened ? Used to be like going to a rock concert there. Guitar Center did not have this problem. Sorry and sad
I have recently purchased 4 guitars at Sam Ash in Cincinnati. Their team is fantastic, their selection is great, and my son and I tried multiple guitars before deciding. I have another music store that is 10 minutes from my house but I drive 30 minutes to go to Sam Ash. I would recommend you check them out. It will be worth the time.
Used to be a great music store. Unfortunately, yesterday went there for guitar strings and not only was the clerk unhelpful and rude he couldnt explain why they didnt sell single strings.Fortunately Guitar Center was close by and took care of me politely and respectfully. My new music hookup
Walked in not really knowing what I was looking for other than a keyboard to help my girlfriend learn music and the sales person we talked to was very helpful. He helped us find a keyboard which displays a musical scale with every note press plus some basic music books, honestly the least threatening most helpful experience Ive ever had buying an instrument. You guys do the name of Sam proud!
Quality gear, great prices, awesome service. I walked in needing a small combo bass amp so I could restart my love of playing bass. Within minutes I ran into Tristan. He quickly got me set up with a quality used bass amp that sounded great. On top of that, he just seemed like a genuinely good dude.Ill be back!
This is my favorite music store in SW Ohio! The guys are vested as former mixers/soundmen, and musicians. If you take the time to know them beyond stories from the road, youll know they authentically love helping others share the love of all things musical. I have never had a bad experience, they stand behind their products, their prices for new and used gear is competitive, and fair... best of all - they are the largest AMERICAN owned family music superstore and pay Ca$h for all their inventory. They arent importing on credit from china. I also know how hard they work to keep a store of their size stocked and ready when the doors open, as I was a former employee. I can shop anywhere, but Sam Ash is the store for me. Great selection, and theyll help you understand important questions like: What is the right number of guitars one man should own = Always one more. Ha ha! Check em out for yourself and see why Sam Ash Music is Cincys best for your next purchase! Rock on my friends.
As always good experience. Got what I wanted and one on sale and quick check out and nice people. Guitar Center is in the same center. But I start at Sam Ash because the people at Guitar center are a bit into themselves. I guess they think thats cool. Id rather have someone that knows what they are doing and doesnt act like youre wasting their time when you buy a $ 20 tuner...I have always got great service at Sam Ash.
Great store! Always enjoy checking out their large selection of guitars (both electric and acoustic). They have a very nice acoustic guitar room. On this visit, we purchased guitar stands and a guitar strap. Again, a wide selection of stands and straps to choose from. The fellow who rang out our order was friendly, helpful, and hard-working. We will definitely be back in to shop very soon.
They had the guitar that was purchased new there properly setup and intonated for free even after any warranty and/or time frame to exchange it had run out which only seems fair since it was purchased there and was not properly set up to begin with. Long story short its great now and I would return to this store.
The guy at the guitar counter was so friendly. I brought a strange old parlor guitar and he spent about 15 or 20 minutes searching high and low trying to find me a case even though he didnt think there would be one. He found it and it was great! A better case and Cheaper then expected. Very nice folks. They got what you need.
Always pleased with the serviceI get at this or any Sam Ash store. Great selection of guitars new and used and always have plenty selection of strings, tuners and accessories IN STOCK. Ive been to music stores all across the country and without a doubt always buy something every time I enter a Sam Store!
Service is great at this location. The staff have been friendly and helpful every visit. Guitar, amp, and pedals as well as music book selection is way better than local competitors. The option to rent used gear and have rental fee applied to purchase if you choose to buy it is a fantastic option for trying out gear and I used this option to buy my 12 string guitar. Great store!
My fiance has been a regular customer there for years and we have always had great experiences. However, there must be a push to get sales because we recently had a very bad experience. A worker named Vinnie, would not say no for an answer, made us feel silly when we said no to anything. We understand a little sales pressure, since we both worked in retail, but this was to the point where it made us frustrated. We planned on buying more in store but after interacting with him, we did not, and were ready to leave. Ultimately, we did not appreciate this experience.
Wanted a Martin DX Johnny Cash guitar and worked with Jeff Vanover. He gave me a fair price for my trade-in and found one of their stores that had one in stock. It shipped to my house THE NEXT DAY! Took it in and he adjusted the action for me. Jeff was great, and the customer service was excellent. I will return to Sam Ash for any future purchases.
Hannah was great at her job! No one at the Drum Department was at the store at the specific time I was there but she still guided me through the experience and now I am on my way home with my first drum kit! Whole staff was friendly and understood what it was like to have parents who didnt really understand anything we were talking about but after about 2 hours, we finally got everything loaded up. Couldnt ask for a better experience and although we live hours away, I might even consider coming back!
The store was very disheveled and unorganized looking. Thankfully I already knew what I wanted because sales rep were nowhere. When I checked out and paid, the clerk gave me my change and then started to walk away. I pointed to register and asked if that was my receipt. He said yes and kept walking. I had to grab it off of register myself. This is why I prefer Sweetwater Music online.
Not sure why Sam Ash has chosen not to open until noon on Saturdays when their competitor GC opens at 10:00am... GC was extremely busy at 11:15am... I wound up buying a Focusrite interface at Sam Ash because of the friendly service as compared to GC. Ive purchased guitars, amps, pedals and accessories from both over the years but Sam Ashs customer service has always been better and friendlier and I exit the store feeling better when I buy at SA. I reserve a five star rating for Third Rock Music, they are the best in the greater Cincinnati area but a long drive for me...
I’ve never heard of Sam Ash before I had went in there with my brother but turns out it had everything we were looking for. Everything from high to low quality and a well knowledge staff helped me pic the best item I could find and see if I liked it. I bought Neil Pert drumsticks and a Gibson guitar. Very happy with my purchase
Stopped to ask questions and look at various effects pedals. Nice selection of pedals in a range of prices. Christopher Hardin was working behind the counter and he couldnt have been more helpful. He was knowledgeable and had the experience to answer questions with clear explanations.Im not a fan of guitar/music stores that force buyers to sit shoulder to shoulder in an open area to experiment and try things out...its noisy, intrusive and difficult to hear above the din. However, a good staff can make that experience more tolerable.Based on the layout of the store I would give SA about a 3.5, but Christophers professionalism raises my ranking to a 5.If you are in the market for musical instruments this Sam Ash store is worth a stop.
Saw a guitar that I wanted as a gift, but when we went back 3 days later it had been sold. We asked if they had another one and one of the managers directed us to the guitar specialist who found floor models at stores in Columbus, Indy, and and two new ones in NYC. The two Chrises provided excellent service.
Recently ordered a bass and an amp here. Ordering process was very easy and staff was super helpful! My equipment arrived unscathed and was in perfect working condition out of the box. Staff helped me pick out any remaining accessories I needed and load everything into my car. Competitive prices, quality gear, friendly staff, and great protection/service plan offers.
I used to get all my stuff at guitar. I was told by people i play with switch to Sam Ash so I went to check them out. I had to get new drum mics and Westy at the Cincinnati store was awesome. He sold me what I needed, not what he thought I needed. He listened to what I was saying which is great when your dealing with a sales person. My new go to place is Sam Ash. I left happy.
Always a positive experience at the Cincinnati Sam Ash. I find when Im looking for something a little out of the ordinary, like an obscure guitar pedal, Sam Ash Cincinnati always seems to have it in stock. Ive never had a negative experience at that location. Updated 9/20/2020. Went shopping again for a new pedal (obviously I play guitar) and had another positive experience. Their selection of pedals new and used across all price points is huge and worth checking out, and theyve got a wide and deep selection of guitars and amps as well. Lastly, they have a unique solution for paying at the counter while maintaining social distancing. Still five stars
Chris Hardin helped me, fantastic customer service! I needed a variety of things from all over the store and despite he was from the guitar Dept he helped me get everything I needed, did extensive look ups to ensure that he found exactly what I was looking for, at the prices I found online as well as present me with comparable options I hadnt been aware of. No sales pressure just assisted me in getting exactly what I came in for. Even went the extra mile to make sure I left with the 2 yr warranties that I had declined to no extra cost to me. Ill definitely be back when I get some more money together
I was shopping for a home studio package and also some new gear in guitars at the Cincinnati Sam Ash is n addition to 4 other stores. Cincinnati Sam Ash was the best! Jeremy in guitars is by far, the best at customer service I have come across in the business. He was very helpful had great follow up, and genuinely a nice guy. I will exclusively shop this store from now on and will deal with Jeremy on every occasion. Excellent!!!
I have purchased an electric guitar & electric bass from Sam Ash Cincinnati and couldnt be happier with my experience. The staff is knowledgeable and gives honest answers/advise and never any pressure to purchase something I dont want. I really like doing business with them and will do so again in the future.
Today Sam ash you get one star. I stood in there for 20 minutes waiting for help... The customer in front of me checks out and leaves 3 guys go back into the office room and leave the one other guy to stand out front dealing with the guy he was dealing with at the time.... I told the guys I had patience but damn my time is valuable. I guess I will just order from sweetwater thank you
Went to Guitar Center Cincinnati, Ohio to trade in 2 powered sub cabinets on 2 Alto Stealth Wireless Speaker Systems a $800.00 sale. Within 5 minutes I was told they werent interested. I have bought a lot of gear from this store.Left went to Sam Ash not only did they take them in trade, gave me a great deal I also ordered a Bass Guitar ($549.00) extra sale. P. S. I also cut up my Guitar Center Credit Card at the counter in Sam Ash Store Cincinnati, Ohio
Very nice and friendly people. Will give you the space needed to make your own decisions. Prices a very much comparable to Amazon. While they cant match item for item in prices, will definitely give you a good discount if you are purchasing multiple items. Actually we exchanged one of the big ticket items the very next day after purchasing. The sales person already knew what we were going to exchange it, for we had a long discussion about it the previous day trying to make up our mind, and exchanged it with a smile, no questions asked. Hope there are more stores like this.
We came by to look at some violins since my daughter will be playing in her school orchestra in the upcoming school year. We were very impressed with Hannah and the wealth of knowledge that she shared with us. She helped my daughter pick out the right violin for her and helped teach us a lot of things she needs to know as a beginner. We will be shopping with you guys from now on. Thank you, Hannah!
Ive been shopping there on and off since I moved into the area. Nice floor space to display the goods. What impressed me most was how quickly my guitar got a set-up. Very professional and the guys that can play better than me, played it to show me that it was fixed. Sounds better and feels better to play.
I was looking for a good beginner electric piano and decided on the Yamaha P125B. We had a real piano for many years, but had given ours to one of our daughters. I wanted the feel and sound of a real piano without all of the space. After playing around on the different models available I decided on the Yamaha. We loaded it into our vehicle and it is now under our Christmas tree for us to enjoy. Great service and helpful staff. Thank you!
These days, thanks to Amazon, Walmart, Costco, etc., where product returns are as simple as “I want to return this”, I walked into Sam Ash and said I wanted to return a couple items I had purchased a week ago, that didn’t work. Two guys looked at each other, saying “I can’t do returns.” I’ll have to call headquarters and get temporary authorization. Really? For a $16 return? It wasn’t a $5,000 guitar... I waited 10 minutes while they went through this process, feeling like I was really putting them out. I am always leery, and usually avoid stores that are difficult about product returns. Yes, they did it, but what an ordeal. I bought a $600 guitar there a few years ago and this made me wonder what i would have gone through if there had been something wrong with it.
The sales manager and sales rep made sure not only that I felt comfortable, but that my entire purchase was made as easy and as care-free as possible.Because of a computer slow down we were made to wait longer than normal. However such simple tasks as bringing my wife and me cups of water, to ensure that we were comfortable, are small and seemingly insignificant tasks, but are appreciated.
I purchased a Roland TD-17 electronic drum set this weekend. Tristan, who manages drums & percussion at Sam Ash, provided an extensive tryout of the equipment & answered all of my questions. He was extremely knowledgeable & also pursued all discounts available. I would recommend Sam Ash for those wanting to buy drum or percussion hardware.
From the day I called the employees at Sam Ash were very good because they were very professional on the phone and store presence was positive as well as friendly.Im glad I chose Sam Ash for my guitar lessons. My teacher is working very hard with me.Its affordable and I hope that I become better at learning the guitar!Mindy
The most impressive thing about Sam Ash in Cincinnati is the service! The luthier on staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Helped me fix my old guitar for a great price.Same with the sales staff. Theyre all very knowledgeable and professional about the stuff that is being sold in the store.Great staff, great prices, lots of inventory.Cant beat it at any music store.
What a wonderful place for our music community. Stopped in last night on my way through Cincinnati and caught part of the Open Mic night. The fact that you have a place for all artists to showcase their talent is such a great thing. Spoke to Jeff and he filled me in on what goes on every Wednesday night and I love it. Chris in guitars was so helpful as well as Gerald on a couple of questions I had on recording gear. I will definitely be back once I start working on my home studio.Thank you for having great people in your store and a great place for musicians of all ages.
Slowest checkout in the nation. I was two people back in line and there 17 minutes. Someone had to come to insert a key into the cash register as if they did not trust the employee. Heres a thought; empower the employee in the department to have control over the cash register. You know where he works right? I do not enjoy purchasing any item from Sam Ash due to this.
Went in to shop not looking to buy, but shopping for a new bass guitar and see whats out there (already own 2 Fender Jazz basses), and wound up playing 4 or 5 different instruments and leaving with yet another... fender jazz bass and I couldnt be happier. Staff was super helpful and willing to let me play to pick the best instrument for me, and played such a nice Flea signature Jazz bass that I couldnt leave it there.
We recently went to purchase a guitar for our son. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and the prices were the best around. I was given advice on accessories that we would need as well, and was offered options that were less expensive than the ones we picked out that were a better quality. All around a great experience.
Simply put, a great music store experience. Basses and guitars I played were set up well and ready to try. The store was clean and laid out well. Even with some folks off (I overheard this), the staff was extremely accommodating. Tristan and Jeff in particular were fantastic. I traded an instrument in and walked out with a new one. Its well worth the drive from NKY to go to a store where folks obviously care more.
I can give Sam Ash 4 out of 5 stars because Id say that 4 out of 5 times I go there I meet someone who hasnt had their soul completely sucked dry by the music industry. Theres also a Guitar Center nearby, but I feel like when I go to Sam Ash there is more love for music. If I got to hang out and talk to people about music and guitars all day I think Id be ecstatic, which isnt always the vibe I get from employees.. The fact that there are basically 100 copies of the same 2 guitars on the wall isnt Sam Ashs fault. I have had sales people recommend used gear when it was better suited for what I need. When they ask me if I need picks or strings I usually feel like they actually care about me more than they are trying to increase a sale. I almost always walk out of there feeling better than when I went in. I guess my standards are pretty low, but in a big box store world I can still recommend Sam Ash because it still reminds me of the basic thing, which is people expressing their souls through music.
Great musical instrument lineup, service and prices! Atmosphere lets you enjoy trying out many instrument options without pressure. I also greatly appreciate this store helping me equip Cincinnatis Ronald McDonald House with 3 terrific Yamaha keyboards and accessories over the past year. They bring much needed musical joy to hospital patients and families. Thank you!
My son & I are in this store weekly for his music lessons. We could not ask for a better instructor than Steve Helton. The sales staff we have met are also friendly & knowledgeable. They offer guidance when we are not sure what items to purchase, but do not automatically steer towards the highest priced items. The love of music is evident in the way they conduct business.
Very informal, and warm. The staff was friendly and right in there to greet and take care of your needs. Mine was planned and was even better. The store is laid out for all your desires and needs and is huge. Found what I needed and all went very well. I highly recommend them as I will be going there from here on out. Thank you Sam Ash of Cincinnati, Ohio and all your staff. Fantastic. :) Great place to be in Musical dream becomes reality.....you have to see to believe it....Another great deal from Sam Ash in Cincinnati, Ohio. got a super deal on a dream Taylor 914ce acoustic. These guys are the BEST. I have to say Christopher Hardin is a musical guru of sorts, and he helps with everything going...great sales and confidant to Sam Ash Music. See this guy...you will love him.
My experience with Sam Ash Cincinnati was highly positive. The salesman was extremely knowledgeable, and he stayed with my wife and me in choosing the exact Fender Guitar of Distinction from the nine pictured, a process that took some time. Buying a guitar is always a pleasure; at SamAsh Cincinnati it was even more than pleasurable, largely because Justin is a human being and a very fine salesman.
Better than their competition around the corner. Didnt have what I needed in stock but they seemed fairly knowledgeable and the gentleman who helped me asked every co-worker he could about if they had any tonight solution to what I was after. The customer service was nice to experience, just wish they had more in stock so I could support them financially with a sale. Thanks again!
My Son received a kids guitar for his Birthday from Grandma and it needed to be re-strung and tuned . Wasnt sure if they would even touch it. The gentlemen working there were SO nice and completely re-strung and tuned it for next to nothing. We also enjoyed walking around the store looking at all the instruments and listening to the live band playing jazz. What a fantastic store.....
The staff is just fantastic and they have more than two left handed guitars which is great for me and other leftys out there. Guitar center had one and thats the main reason I went to Sam ash. But because of how great these guys were, Im going there a lot more now.The staff actually surprised me on how great their customer service was. I had an issue with a guitar I was about to get and the guy helping me literally went the extra mile to make sure everything was right with the guitar. He even left where he was to go get someone to answer a question he didnt know the answer to. Also at no point did they make it seem like we were bothering them. That stood out to me.
I was looking for a guitar that would fit my size challenged hands. Was going to quit if I didnt . Jeff helped me find a Ibanez electric that fit the bill. Having a ball using it. First quality guitar I ever had. Has made the experience amazing. Stood in one competitor store for over 30 minutes nobody helped me or recognized I was there. At Sam Ash they said hello as I walked in. Have been back 3 times to additional gear such as guitar pedals. A whole new experience for me now. Thanks.
(Amazing experience) My daughter needed a flute and within our budget we walked a happy 11 year out the door with her flute. With a smile!!!! Who now loves music more than ever. Thank you! And the young ladies that were singing. You are very Brilliant and Talented. God bless!
In this day and age when online shopping seems to dominate, the friendly customer service you get at Sam Ash by far exceeds anything out there! A big thank you goes out to Jeff Vanover for his patience while I made multiple decisions and helping me walk through each one. I have purchased numerous instruments and accessories from Sam Ash, and it will continue to be my go-to store for musical needs.
This was one of the most helpful sales experiences that I have ever had. The staff were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and very patient with me and my toddler. They really went the extra mile to make sure that everything was taken care of, and I want to thank them for making this stressed-out Moms day a little easier!
Update: Service today was much better that in previous times, the gentlemen who helped me were patient and directed me to the correct products. I also like the extended 0% interest deals too to help pay off my gear, especially when I am in a jam and need gear when its not exactly in the budget.I only go to Sam Ash because of one employee there (Gerald) who is attentive, knowledgeable and personable, the rest are inattentive or not nearly as knowledgeable. The store always seems like I just missed a huge crowd because everything is in disarray or there are signs with prices are missing. A few times Ive walked in looking for something but didnt buy because I had questions first, so when I couldnt find a employee anywhere near that department (There are always a couple of employees hanging out by the check out station at the front, though.) I walked out. Also, we know Samson is your house brand but seriously, settle down with stocking this brand, its crowding the brands I want. Today I left disappointed and went around the corner to Guitar Center and was greeted almost immediately by someone knowledgeable and helpful. Also, could someone clean the bathroom, Ive been to gas stations with cleaner bathrooms.
I walked in prepared to purchase a new gibson, or Martin acoustic guitar and not one person said hello, I walked the entire store, landed on the guitar that caught my eye, I stood there, for about 10 minutes. The guitar was on the upper level of the racks, Im in customer service. Sales.. not one time was I asked anything from one employee, it out a sour taste in my mouth. So I left, and I will purchase , from a company that cares about having me purchase a 3000 dollars item. I have 2 stars, only because the selection was nice, other than that, I dont have anything positive from my experience at this store.
During my stay at Lexington I used to be a frequent customer to Sam Ash, I am very pleased with their services. They have very good equipment, especially guitars. I bought a classical acoustic cut-away guitar (yamaha) and accessories. The Staff helped me a lot in my decision making and gave me time and space to try it enough. Also they gave me a free hardcase:-))
I cannot thank Chris, the guitar department manager enough for his patience, persistence, kindness etc. I was in the Sam Ash Store in Cincinnati Ohio 20 December buying a Bose PA sound system for my husband for Christmas totally incognito while my husband was looking at guitars for our daughter. I had to keep checking to make sure the husband was distracted which other employees helped out with (I can’t drive due to a seizure disorder). Customers even got in on helping distract him. He even offered to hold the item in a back room for me until Sunday when a friend can bring me to get it. I know this may seem like a small gesture for him but for me it was everything. I have a life limiting medical condition and not a lot of time and this is all I wanted to do for my husband and Chris helped make that happen. Thank you so so much Chris and the Sam Ash team. Thank you.
I went to Sam Ash to buy a good microphone and a digital recorder and some associated gear. The person who took care of me helped me find everything quickly and even though the store didnt carry the exact equipment I wanted, he was able to recommend equivalent items. I left with everything I needed and I was finished in less than 30 minutes.
Ive had a VOXAC15C for a couple of years that I received as a Christmas gift. Its a very nice amp, but I didnt love it. I finally made a decision to sell it and thought the best place to start would be Sam Ash - theyd always treated me very well and its always a fun destination. I also brought along a nice Fender amp and an acoustic - since Im looking to sell, why not bring everything? The team at Sam Ash couldnt have been more helpful and gracious. They immediately started looking over my gear and I started to shop. I was really impressed with the selection of amps and guitars. In fact, they had a great price on a used EVH head and a new Marshall cabinet. Ive always wanted an EVH and a Marshall and played away while the team worked up the offer. When they came back with what they could provide in trade or cash - I was very happy. It was a fair offer and, with just a little money out of my own pocket, I could trade my gear for something that I really loved - the EVH head and Marshall cabinet. Im so happy with my new gear, my experience in the store, and the fantastic staff at Sam Ash! THANK YOU! -Eric
I’ve been a customer there for a long times. I play guitar and bass and my son plays drums and a variety of percussion. instruments. Whether it be lessons, instruments, amps, or a variety of other music purchases, Sam Ash is my go to store and I feel at home whenever I go there. Great staff, great instructors, great environment!
We came in to get our 9yo son sized for a cello while we were in town visiting my dad. Not only did her get sizes, but we found and purchased a good condition but used 1/2 size cello. Since we are from Philadelphia, we had to figure out how to get it home. Eric was wonderful in working with us to get that accomplished in the most economical and safe way possible. Thank you Sam Ash!
Sam Ash is a great place to play, try an instrument, speak with the helpful staff, and buy something! They have a pretty good selection of new instruments, and pot-luck for used instruments, most of which can be played just by picking them up and plugging in! Clearance deals and sales can really be great bargains, a new 2015 Gibson for less than the original street-price!
I am glad I found out about Sam Ash. I have saved considerable money on musical supplies for my grandson. Your sales associate Robert Sager and the rest of the Sam Ash staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and I have always been able to find what I needed either in-store or online.
I was very new to the guitar buying experience and going into guitar center almost killed my desire to buy a guitar. But walking into Sam ash in Cincinnati on commons drive was a whole different experience. I knew I wanted an Ibanez and there were tons to choose from and great used gear. A sales associate named Haley came over and asked if I needed help but didn’t pressure me at all and we talked about different styles and then gave me space to make my decision. Every worker I talked to was friendly and eager to help every level of musician. I bought a guitar, amp, and tuner and will be back for all of my future needs even though I live in Kentucky and guitar center is 10 mins away I will make the drive. I’m a Sam ash customer for life now.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, great new and used selection, and all the gear is in great shape. This store happens to be directly adjacent to a GC, and I personally don’t have any idea how the GC stays in business. This Sam Ash is vastly superior in every way...
If you bring your guitar in for repair, the reps will tell you a reasonable return date. However you wont see it from anywhere from a month to 6 months. Pathetic service. When I would call in, none of the repair reps were even in there. I brought in my acoustic to trade in, one guy said they would give me 150 dollars for it but the next guy said only 75. There is no consistent message or communication. the sales reps come off as lazy and not caring unless you are fully prepared to buy immediately. I was once promised 15% off a guitar, but they said they could only do 10% once i was checking out. Go to guitar center which is in the same parking lot. sam Ash has treated many customers like myself like garbage. Guitar center also has better deals.
Sam Ash is a wonderful music store with staff who enjoy their job and are very knowledgeable. It a great one stop music store that sells new and used instruments and just about any accessory youre looking for. I wish there was a shop in KY but its worth the 2.5 hour drive!
I’ve been going to Sam Ash at the Springdale location for at least 15 years. When you walk in you will find unmatched customer service, wall to wall instruments, and someone always around to help get you to what you need. It is hard for me to leave after I get in there. I mean, WOW. Phenomenal. Highly recommend lessons.. and check out the wall of local events, musicians needed, and services provided.. you never know what you’ll find!
Hassle free and pleasant purchasing experience. I have called store with questions in the past, they were always returned promptly. I hadnt been in the store in awhile, there was a good selection of items of interest to me, across a variety of price points. Ill go again when the need arises.
Absolutely great service. Great store. They greet me by name every time I come in, are always very happy to talk to me and answer my questions if they can, or find an answers for me if they dont already know. Great bunch of people who always take great care of me and do everything they can to help me get what Im looking for.
I had originally rated my post with 2 stars due to my dissatisfaction on a ukulele adjustment. However, shortly after posting my review Sam Ash hired a luthier named Jon who gave me a call. He saw that I wasnt pleased and offered to redeem the stores credibility free of charge. I agreed...Within a few short days he had adjusted the action and intonation exactly how one would desire it to be. Needless to say the second time around I left with a much different attitude and would recommend their new luthier to anyone needing adjustments to a stringed instrument. Thanks Jon for the great job and going out of your way to correct something even though you werent at fault!
Ive been shopping at this Sam Ash location for over a decade and have never had a bad experience. Ive received excellent customer service on every visit. The staff arent pushy, but they are very knowledgeable and have never made me feel inferior for asking questions.
NEVER order anything from them online for store pickup... Online website said they had product in stock at store, store emailed next day saying they didnt have the item and would be issuing refund. Never got a refund. Tried contacting customer service online and was hung up on twice, transferred to people who couldnt help, etc.Im giving it 2 more days and filing a charge back on the card. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service.
Excellent customer service from Jeremy Blasch (sp?).I threw a fastball at him when he asked if he could help me... I needed a replacement pot for a 1986 Charvel Model 4 - older than Jeremy for sure - and he was honest and said he had no experience with the mid boost electronic wizardry/nightmare of the 80s Charvels. He located the part for me, recommended and sold a Ditto looper to me that day, and gave me some really good advice on how to use the pedal - of which I had never heard from anyone else - when researching how-to vids on looper pedals. Thanks Jeremy!!
I purchased a beginners pack of harmonicas from Sam Ash in Cincinnati. When I got them home I found they were defective. I suspected that I might not be able to return a harmonica but thought I would call and ask anyway. I thought since they were defective maybe they could be returned to the manufacturer and not resold. I explained the situation to the guy who answered the phone and asked if I could bring them back and upgrade to something better, and was prepared to spend up to $200. I told him I would be driving from Dayton, about an 80 mile round trip. He said, no problem, bring them back and they would take care of me. Guess what? I drive all the way down there and they inform me that you cant return harmonicas. I asked to talk to the manager and he treated me very rudely in front of other customers. When I couldnt tell him the name of the person I talked to on the phone (I didnt ask and no one would admit to it) he implied that I was being less than honest. When I asked him if he thought I was lying about what I was told on the phone, he responded by mocking me and chuckling under his breath. I just bought a bass there last week and a guitar the week before that, and have spent hundreds of dollars there over the years. That was my last visit to Sam Ash.
Brought my son in last night to upgrade his Sax for high school. Was greeted promptly by Robert Sagar, and he did a great job qualifying us for what we were looking for. I didnt plan to buy last night, but we left with a saxophone, mouth piece, reeds, ligature, and stand. Feeling pretty grateful that Robert helped us make a final decision and made sure we left with everything we needed. Thanks Robert!
We started out at guitar center and they were rude as hell, so we went around the corner to Sam Ash and we met Triston. Triston was awesome, he helped my husband get everything he needed to learn to play a guitar and was friendly as could be. Kudos to Triston, he really knows how to treat a customer
Guitar Tech - Purchased a double cut LP special that I couldn’t keep in tune. Tried everything myself first. Took a week. Nothing worked. Took it to Brandon last night and now it plays like a dream! This guy rocks. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Not sure if he’s permanent but should be! Well done.
Always pay cash, or go somewhere else. I bought a 4 channel mixer, got it home and it didn’t work. I returned it the next day and the money still came out of my account a few days later. I called them and they place the blame on my bank. I called my bank and the only way my bank was able to fix it was to send it to fraud as a fraudulent charge. I have been a loyal customer to Sam Ash for years I doubt I will ever go back.
Got great help my most recent visit. Its important to shop locally in brick and mortar stores in my opinion. The was an item I was looking for that wasnt in the store and its being shipped right to my house. Im not a rock and roller so the ambiance leaves something to be desired but hell, I left with what I needed. I make my living as a musician BTW.
I have a cheaper model Gibson Les Paul. I originally brought it in to have it setup professionally for better playability and action. I have no idea how to adjust a truss rod. After I picked it up the first time, it had fret buzz towards the nut. It also came back with the wrong gauge strings. I played it for a while and didnt complain (my fault). So, I brought it back. The gentleman who sets up the guitars wasnt there. Another person took my guitar with detailed noted about fret buzz and the correct gauge strings. I was called later the next day that it was ready. When I picked it up the was a live band, I didnt hear anything until I got home. The buzz moved towards the pickups. The manger was great and refunded my money. The Luthier said it was my fault. I say if you need someone to be available to setup a guitar correctly, you call them and request their presence. You dont just set it up and bill someone $80! If your claim is that you cannot setup a guitar without the player - DONT. We have phones, email, text messages, heck, carrier pigeons, that could have avoided this issue. So, all said and done, I paid $50 to get fret buzz. If you go here ask question on how to get a good job - he wont and then hell blame you for the bad job he did.
The staff at Sam Ash always goes above and beyond for us. I have a couple musicians in my house and we always go there first for instruments. Yesterday we upgraded my son’s Sax and worked with the Sales manager Chris, I couldn’t be happier with how the whole process went.

2022-04-24Vinnie is a great salesman. I will definitely be back and will look for him. All the representatives really were great. I am extremely impressed with the Epiphone SG Muse! I visited a competitor located really close by and saw a guitar I really liked, but no one even greeted me. Keep it up Sam Ash and keep it real Vinnie!!

2022-07-20Sam Ash has been my go to place for all things musical for quite some time. Staff are friendly, address your queries to the best of their abilities, and they are knowledgeable about their products. After asking many questions and receiving quality answers, I made purchases that fit my wallet & personal tastes. They had everything I needed... except the silent acoustic guitar I was looking for. I was told where to go online to make that purchase and was successful in doing so thanks to their guidance. Unlike their neighbor around the corner, Sam Ash staff were friendly, knowledgeable and keenly interested in serving my needs. I was able to play the instruments (regardless of the price tag) and satisfy my curiosity relative to all things musical. Thanks, guys & gals for a great shopping experience!

2022-03-16The drum section employee was incredibly nice and helpful. However, I was waiting to check out behind a customer taking a long time. I was with three kids. The manager and another employee were helping one man. I didnt complain, but I waited patiently with the kids. After 15 minutes the man that the manager and another employee were helping left. Neither the manager or employee offered to check me out or told me to go them. A man walked up behind me and they offered to help him.I felt completely invisible. We left, and as we were leaving I was told they were understaffed. At that moment there was a manager and 3 employees and 3 customers in the building. Understaffed was not the situation. We went to the guitar center where we got amazing service. Its right around the corner and I highly recommend.

2022-07-04We had a fantastic experience at this store! We live about an hour away so we called the store first to make sure they had the guitar we were interested in looking at... ( the new Taylor American Dream 17E, black ) and we were ensured they had the guitar, so we headed south! When we arrived the store was crawling with customers. We made our way to the guitar room and I immediately went to the wall of Taylor guitars. The guitar we had called about was not on the wall? Within moments we were greated by the sales manager, Hannah. I informed her we had called ahead about a certain Taylor guitar and before I could get another word out, Hannah told us she was aware we had called ahead and she pulled the guitar off the wall in preparation of our arrival! To make a long story short, I am now the proud owner of that Taylor American Dream 17E, got a decent trade in on a 12 string I rarely played, she threw in a pack of my favorite guitar strings and, as part of the July 4th sale, I have a mahogany Taylor GS mini being shipped to our house...cost only 200.00!To close, as understaffed as the store was, we were treated unbelievably well, to say the least! Thank you Hannah!!

2022-06-19Cameron went above and beyond to help me with a speaker cable that’s difficult to find, for an old sound system, and sold it to me much cheaper than online to boot. Give her a raise! Everyone there was great and so, so helpful. Top tier customer service.

2022-03-23Sam Ash is always a good experience. At this time their stock is a little low ,but looking around and talking with the staff its coming back daily. They do have some tempting buys, but not what I was looking for, will go back in a week or 2. Check em out (for a guitar).

2022-06-03Ryan, the sales associate was very very helpful, he went out of his way to be sure I was purchasing the proper cables for my speakers. I very much appreciated his abundance of caution to be sure my spreaders would not be damaged.
