When shopping for a rubbish removal company. DO NOT CHOOSE RUMPKE. Very poor customer service. After their front loader truck ripped down my overhead communication wiring they denied responsibility and refused to pay for repairs. Christine Mixon sent me a denial letter and after 3 days of messages she still would not return my calls. I then contacted Ron Schnug which claimed to side with his driver and still deny responsibility. Sad for them there poor business practices have lost them three accounts.
We switched to Rumple because our town hired them for our trash removal. The price was lower than our previous trash removal service so we were happy about that. We appreciate that they are careful with our trash/recycling cans as we live on a very busy street. We never find trash spilled out and the cans are always put back where they found them. They are always on time and give us plenty of notice before a holiday that the schedule will be different. I highly recommend Rumple Trash Removal Services.
It’s been two weeks, and you still haven’t picked up my garbage. Once is an accident, twice is negligence. I called to let someone know, and they guaranteed me that someone would pick it up yesterday. That didn’t happen. I called again today; was guaranteed it would be picked up by 6pm. Never happened. I even had the city of Westlake call you and verify that it would be picked up. You legit have one job. How is it possible to fail so hard at it?Update: you’ve also thrown my recycling can, that I’ve paid for, every single time you’ve emptied it without bothering to put the lid back on. I called to talk about reimbursement seeing as I can’t very well get credit for my service due to not getting a direct bill, and you haven’t returned my calls.
They are always on a regular schedule, pick-up the trash in a neat fashion, making sure not to tip over my can. They put my can back in the driveway nicely. I usually have a few bags of cat litter that I place on top of my can, or out on the ground, and they are always careful with it. I am very please with their service. Sometimes we take them for granted, which is unfortunate and they do deserve to be complimented on their work and thanked. These guys do a wonderful job, Thank you!!!
For the last two years (began service Jan 2019), Ive been very pleased with the timely pickups of household waste, and the courtesy of the driver. However, when I first began service, the driver didnt stop at my home for over a month, until I waved him down in the street. Dont know if this is a problem of communication between the office and driver? Regardless, since that time, there have been no issues. Im completely satisfied with the service provided by Rumpke. Im also on auto billing, which further simplifies the process.
Our recycling wasnt getting picked up. I find out from a neighbor Rumpke was cancelling it and letters were going out as of 1/1. Its 1/30 and we havent had pick up and havent received a letter. But we got a bill for recycling. AND the rate went up.Our community has a contracted rate but they upped all of our rates in the last bill. Some neighbors would have paid it but luckily we all communicate with each other to say its not correct. But those of us who contact the company NEVER hear anything back.The only communication I EVER get from Rumpke is incorrect bills or collections notices because Im not paying incorrect bills and I wait WEEKS for them to be corrected.Several months ago when I was calling with a question it took me 5 transfers + on hold indefinitely to hear that I reached the wrong department and put on hold again. I had to finally give up to the phone and write an angry how do I get a hold of you message on Facebook to get someone to get back to me.The service offering fits the service they give: TRASH.
They are here each time my trash is collected. If the wind blows a can over they are kind enough to pick it up and pickup whatever they can find around the area and put it back in the can. It gets really windy where I am on season changes. All positive from my perspective.
In a couple of instances, I have seen some plastic bags blow out of the truck as the trash is transferred from the front dumpster to the back of the truck, and the driver jump out to gather the loose items. I was pleased to see that level of pride and professionalism.
Choose another company. If you have to pay a little more it will be worth it rather then using these guys. We have a business and they change pick up drivers a lot. When the 2 yard dumpster first arrived it already had trash and about 3 inches of water in the bottom. Guess it was my job to pay for delivery and to have to clean it up when it arrived. They have been late picking up trash. They show up when ever they feel like it. There is always trash left in the dumpster. The dumpster is usually left facing the wrong way after they partly remove the trash. The words Customer Service are not part of their business. Even if you pay them online through their system using a Credit Card it takes them forever to post your payment to your account and while they are taking their time posting your payment they will stop your service so that they can charge you an extra $36 to come and pick what you have already paid them to do. If it was possible to give negative feed back we would.
Wouldnt empty the trash container but picked up all surrounding trash and recycle. When I called they told me my account had been on vacation hold for the past 3 months. Then why were they picking up our trash? I had to call my township to have them remove a non existent hold on my account until they would schedule a pick up. I called the township who knew of no such hold being placed on my account. The township apparently contacted Rumpke and let them know there was no hold. I just got off the phone with Rumpke, of course they arent coming back to get the trash and we have to wait an entire week until they will, on our next scheduled date. Our contianer is full which means we will have many extra bags piling up. I feel as though I was lied to and the story makes no sense. Not to mention the containers are always emptied and then placed back down on the ground BLOCKING the driveway, instead of to the side of the driveway. Absolute worst customer service.
I live in City of Westlake which uses Rumpke. They take all garbage out and do a lot of muscle lifting. My only complaint: They asked to wrap sofas, mattresses, etc in plastic. Its a huge, huge waste of plastic; I dont see the point of protecting their workers or Earth.
Terrible! I wish I could get zero stars! I hate coming home from work every Thursday after trash pick up because every time the cans are deliberately lined up across half of my driveway. Sometimes we even have to stop in the street and move the cans before we can even pull into our driveway which is a safety concern, especially since I almost always have my young son in the car. You can drive down our road and see almost all the cans either in the roadway or thrown over. Completely unacceptable!
I run a community that has trash service from Rumpke.. The worst service ever I have to call them several times a month for skipping cans. They say they are going to correct the issue.. but never do. I even had a meeting with one of the supervisors, and since then service has gotten even worse! I do not recommend.
Usually we wait all day for our trash to be picked up, approx 2-4pm...today, the day after Christmas they flew through our neighborhood at 9am! We dont put our trash out the night before due to the high volume of deer on our street and dont want them to tear our bags apart, so we put the trash out in the morning. If they are going to come so early the day after a holiday then they certainly should post this on their website! I called their 800# to see if they could come back to pick up our trash, as I had to literally run the trash out after I saw them fly down our street the first time & was told that they wouldnt guarantee it & we would probably just have to wait until next week to have our trash picked up....seriously?? They need to come at a consistent time every day! Their second trip down our street they saw my trash sitting out at the curb & didnt even stop to pick it up. Very dissatisfied!!!
I emailed Rumpke to request a 2020 recycling calendar. I received a prompt reply explaining the calendar was not yet available but my name would be put on the list to receive one. Later the same day I received the calendar. Really appreciated the promptness in receiving the calendar!
Theres a reason they have a 2 star rating. Take that into consideration when choosing them to pick up your trash. The negative reviews below are absolutely TRUE. Trash cans thrown wherever they land, rude employees, customer service is non existent. I made a complaint after a employee was very hostel and rude when I had a question regarding our service, and that got me absolutely NO WHERE. I will pay extra to have my trash removed by a company who deserves my business.
Never had an issue till now the refused to take items that they had taken before. Unfortunately I cant change the service I am locked in with the village.Update: my village called Rumpke and they came the next day to pick it up.... seems like they like to make things up as they go.
I made a comment yesterday 7/30/19 that I wasn’t happy with my service; only becuz my broken planter box was picked up but not my trash container. Boy...do I feel foolish! My apologises! I hadn’t paid my bill. Didn’t know my bill was due.. ignorance on my part; but sometimes we get busy, real busy. I thought becuz the pickup was later then we’re use to; that the guy took the planter box and forgot to left my container. My deepest apologies!!! My bill will be paid today. And thx for picking up my container all this month; bcuz I wasn’t paid for July... with communication there’s understanding.
As a contractor, I regularly dispose of job waste at various land fills and recycling centers. I normally pay around $6 - $14 to dispose of a pickup truck full of debris, depending upon the weight.After a recent job, I had a few cutoff scraps of drywall left over and made the huge mistake of going to the Rumpke Broadview Hts location. I was shocked when they charged me $64 to dispose of a few scraps that an ordinary landfill would have only charged about $4. Unbelievable!I will never make the mistake of dealing with this operation again.
Every time waste cans are emptied put on edge of driveway and on street watched worker let it fall into street very windy can in street he looks back at it and keeps walking, really, really what a professional company week after week after week cans in street too bad they moved to Broadview Heights they city service was far superior. Put in a call no guarantees can will be moved out of street and they are still in neighborhood. Am not there saw it on camera. now I have a can blowing down the street and they probably will run it over. REAL PROFESSIONALS this Rummy outfit.
I had multiple times my trash pickup was missed on Friday. Their offices are closed on the weekends. The supervisor was worthless and would not return my phone calls. I had to wait until the next week to get my trash picked up. I would not recommend Rumpke to anyone, steer clear of this company!
Ive been taking out trash my whole life without a problem. Now that Rumke was awarded exclusive service to Bath Township, they left us 16 rules for proper trash removal. Now, a few weeks into said switch they want our cans on opposite sides of the driveway. Poor choice on Bath Township to allow only one service. Its just allowing the one service to make as many rules as they want. Not to mention how they chuck the cans back into our driveway or leave the trash because its too heavy. If 100lb girl carried it out there its not too heavy.
My trash service used to be through Browns trash removal and Rumke bought browns outright. Ive used Rumke for at least three years now in the Ashland Ohio area. 3 months ago i setup Rumkes automatic payment system but apparently it did not process. Just the other day Rumke called me and said my account is past due so that evening i went online and setup the automatic withdraw again and it gave me a confirmation. The following day my trash can was missing and the trash was sitting beside where the can was. When i called Rumke they said since my account was past due they have the right to take the trash container and charge me for another trash can. I purchased the trash can from Browns 4 years ago for $32.00. I explained to Rumke that i purchased that container prior to Rumke and their response was they own it since they bought Browns outright. I fully understand that but the fact of the matter is that i have never been past due on any payments and obviously there was an error online with their payment system. I explained to them that this is wrong just because one payment was behind which i was not aware of and when i did find out i paid it that evening. They are still trying to charge me for a container that i had already paid for. I feel that they only used that as an excuse because the container still said Browns trash removal on it. If Rumke does not like that there are containers still in use that do not say Rumke on it then they shoulld have replaced them on their dime and not look for an excuse to make me pay for another container. I consider this a very minor issue when looking at the scope of whats really important in life but, it just irritated me so much that i wanted other people to know how they are treating their customers. The young man who handles Tollis Parkway, specifically Bittersweet, is a remarkable person. He always waves hello, is energetic, kind, and goes out of his way to help. He also gathers all the blue bags and sets them in one place so it is easier for the next guy. I never thought I would actually wait for collection to say hello to someone, but I look forward to it.
I realize that being a garbage man isnt the most glorious job in the world. While I havent done it myself, I cant imagine how its so hard to pick up trash cans, bags, and anything labeled in bright neon sharpie, TRASH, PLEASE TAKE and be about your way. But somehow, Rumpke manages to do none of that.
They act like they own the road almost backed into me on multiple occasions(took me honking at them and having to get out of the way why they disregarded the fact cars were already there and block streets by sitting in both lanes plus im pretty sure they leave more trash behind by dumping it everywhere then they take

2022-05-12I have used them as long as I had owned a home in Mansfield, Lexington and Ontario. They are friendly, pretty punctual and take everything I leave. If it’s going to be excessive or something not on the list of acceptable refuse, I call and arrange service so they have a heads up. The only thing I don’t like, and it sticks in my crawl…is the fuels surcharge. It’s $15 I believe per bill…they literally go from 5 houses down, if that, to me and across the street. If everyone is paying $15 then wow! It may balance out between city and rural pickups, but rural pick ups shouldn’t be my problem when it comes to fuel. Just the houses on my street probably total up to $100 or so. There are others cheaper, but at least I can rely on them…and I don’t like change after all these years.

2022-04-13We were using mid state waste and was very happy with there service, rumpke bought them out and I was a little unsure but figured I would give them a fair shot at providing our trash pickup service. So far I’ve been happy with there service, they always show up and empty our can on time, I have forgotten to take it out to the curb and they have came up and gotten the trash container, my only real grief with them is I’ve seen one of there employees being unnecessarily ruff with our trash can and slamming it around and Literally throwing it from the middle of the road back onto our property we use one that has wheels and a handle, more than once this has occurred, our can is rarely ever full and I always tie up the bags and never put loose garbage in the can. I know there job isn’t easy so we try to make it as comfortable as we can. This issue dosent always occur and most of there people seem to be respectful of our trash container.

2022-05-13Upon switching to Rumpke we experienced two incidents of not having our weekly trash pickup. Rumpke offered to do a special pickup, but it was close enough to a scheduled pickup I said to wait. Our fee for the two weeks was not reflected on our bill.

2022-05-17Since Rumpke took over our service, there has been several times that they have missed picking up our trash..even after multiple calls to complain about the service. Also, they never put the trash can back where they got it. They always put it in the driveway..so it needs to be moved before we can pull in to the drive or before we can leave. Just terrible service!!

2022-04-15Rumpke charges for services that they do not do. They do not know how to completely empty a recycling can. Seems like should be simple but apparently not. Call them and they still do not fix the issue.

2022-05-20Everyone is paying for higher gas prices, NOT just Rumpke! I don’t understand why you think it’s okay to force your customer to pay for the higher gas prices! No one is helping us pay for our gas! We didn’t cause the inflation. We are impacted as well. You should be trying to help us instead of making raising your prices to cover your fuel prices.

2022-05-27Website is easy to use to pay. Emails are only received when necessary, people are professional and actually answer the phone, the drivers are courteous and on time when possible. Special requests have been handled 100% properly. Solid company. ❤️

2022-06-07Switched to driveway pickup after the trash truck destroyed our can on the street . They didn’t come for two weeks as they put us on the wrong route we called three times a day being told each day that trash would be taken that day . When they come to take the trash they won’t take it now as animals have eaten the trash and the bags are open . Awful experience

2021-12-14Watch your bills closely!! They will increase the price and say you got notified with a letter. Never received a letter. I have been using there services for over 2.5 years and they just discovered they made a mistake when entering me in the system and I don’t live in a certain township.. They doubled my bill. I cancelled the service.
