DisappointingIt was my first time in RosiesDinner its going to be my lastMy Friends said the same thing
This place is a tiny little diner with a home town feel. There is plenty of parking around the building to find a spot. Right when you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff, almost all appearing to be veterans of the serving field with plenty of experience under their belt. We sat in a booth near the door. The staff brought my daughter some crayons and a picture to color. I had a coffee which was nice and fresh and my daughter had chocolate milk. We are pretty predictable people who are addicted to sausage gravy and they had what we wanted: country fried steak with eggs and potatoes. The food arrived very shortly after ordering. I was very surprised and very pleased by the promptness of our service and food delivery. The dish was so good we cleaned our plates. I took the rest of my coffee to go with me. Then we paid our bill at the cash register and was on our way. We will be coming back to this lovely little hometown restaurant!
Havent been to Rosies in quite some time. Safety measures have been placed and new menus have been printed. Service was very accommodating. Ordered chicken tenders 🤮 that is not chicken it has the same processed chicken as McDonalds chicken nuggets which I do not eat. My server was very understanding and I ordered breakfast (because lets be honest that is hard to mess up)! I give it 3 stars for service and safety.
Huge portions. Fair prices. Clean. Pleasant service. IMHO best Lake Erie perch of many other restaurant choices. Some meals are food service institutional, but doctored up to taste good and the rice pudding had no sugar in it. Somebody forgot to taste it before they put it up to be sold.
My coworker said she hated ALL fast food breakfast so we came here. I had an omelet & she had a slice of French toast. No complaints. The waitress was on top of it & kept our coffee warm & our cups full. That in itself was a pleasant surprise. Will have to come back for lunch or dinner.
Ive never been in a place with more unfriendly staff than this place. The lady seating us didnt make face contact. Just waved and said go wherever you want. Gotta love the McDonalds logos on the restroom doors. We have been here for over a half hour and I am yet to see one member of the staff smile or show even an ounce of friendliness . STEP IT UP!!!
This was the first time myself and Boyfriend went here! Let me tell you for being a diner the food was AMAZING!!!! I got the western omelette, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy had big chunks of sausage! The home fries were golden and crispy! I also had chocolate cake. I was disappointed in the cake though cause it was super dry. Boyfriend had the jack special(2 Biscuits home fries on top of the biscuits, 3 eggs with sausage gravy over it all) and order a side of sauage links and got 4 links! The waitress was nice but didnt give me that super welcome feel(she was down to business and that was it) no personality and being on her phone to much.We spent almost 40.00 it was defintley worth it!
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant very family oriented and the staff is amazing. Lisa and Leigh are the best I have ever had at any restaurant I have been too. I only go when they are there. They keep up with the drinks and know when to come over and talk with us. Its all around great service and I appreciate them for being exactly who they are. Not a moment goes by that we dont have a smile. Thank you to the staff at Rosies for making my experience here worth it. 🙂
Went to Rosies for breakfast this morning the service was no good order food then come out together and wanted to bring the Grits one time and the eggs and the gyro meat separately the service didnt come to the table and asked us if we wanted coffee juice or anything else they ran to get grits from the store and one to bring out half of our order we will not be eating at Rosies in Lorain Ohio no longer we rate the restaurant poor poor poor
I go here semifrequently, but today the staff at Rosies did something to earn a 5 star review. It is my sons first birthday today and I took the day off work to spend it with him. We went to Rosies for lunch and after I ordered our food, I asked the waitress for apple pie and ice cream, I told her what we were celebrating. After we finished eating, she and some of the other staff came out with a full small cake with a single lit candle and sang my son Happy Birthday. I did not ask them to do this, they willfully made an effort to go out of their way to make someone elses day that much better. This is one of the reasons why I will continue to dine out at Rosies. Its one to thing to call your business a family restaurant, and a lot of places do, but Rosies actually makes you feel like family when you are there.Thank you!
Our family especially my mom Elsa and my dad Joe have gone to Rosies for many many years. The food is home cooked, delicous but most of all the staff treat you like family. My parents have passed away but when I am in town from Colorado my friends and I will continue to go for all the memories and great service.
Always love Rosies! Its our fav breakfast! My 4 year always asks to go to roses! Its her all time fav breakfast place. All of our kids enjoy it and so do we. The omelets are great and my hubs swears by the steak and eggs! Their pancakes are so sweet and flavorful! Way better than IHOP!
I wouldnt consider this a full-service restaurant. Most of the food is deep fried, pre-processed stuff. Fried chicken, fried fish, french fries, burgers, etc. Ive been there twice: once ordered a Lake Erie perch sandwich with fries and applesauce and the other ordering a chef salad. My perch filet was barely big enough to fill the small bun it came on and was kinda bland. The french fries: bland and barely cooked. The tartar sauce was delicious though. My chef salad was very disappointing: a bed of lettuce slathered in shredded cheese, slices of tomatoes (obviously re-purposed sandwich slices), and cucumber chunks with deli meat ham and turkey. No green peppers or eggs as promised in the menu and they give you crackers instead of croutons. The blue cheese dressing tasted very much like mayonnaise (but I could tell it wasnt mayo) and the ranch dressing tasted incredibly cheap. And during my 45 minute lunch experience, I heard 3 meals returned to the kitchen. The waitresses are hit or miss. Ive had one who is very pleasant and another who has almost no customer service skills (very gruff, short with you). I could cook better food at home. Dont waste your money here.
Found this place while passing through town. While my family was easily the youngest in the place (two 30 year olds with a toddler) and the decor was a bit dated, we were glad we stopped here. We were greeted right away and had a booth near the kitchen. But there was no loud noises coming from the kitchen so that was no problem at all. We got drinks and our order of soup, salad or coleslaw right away. My vegetable beef soup was hearty and very good and my husband had the coleslaw and said it was good too. The waitress was very nice and brought my son some applesauce when she brought our soup and coleslaw. My husband ordered a pizza burger and only regretted that it had shredded mozzarella cheese instead of a slice and would have liked an option to add pepperoni. Otherwise though he seemed to enjoy it very much. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and was happy with my choice. I liked that they used different colored peppers instead of just green peppers. My son had dino nuggets, so there isnt much I can say about those except they seemed to be cooked just fine. The desserts looked good in the case, but we didnt try any. Overall, a nice place to stop and rest while enjoying some casual dining.
Wish i could give it minus zero...this place is the WORST ever!!!..starting with their bad attitude, old lady waitresses need to retire and the menu needs strong update. But mostly, its a place without heart...people should feel safe and confortable in a family-oriented establishment where they are paying for a service, but no!!!...what I saw in the last couple of times I went here was horrible, just plain and offensive towards any person. Discrimination outloud and unfair treatment (why?,apparently because not same skin color?)...my kids were repulsed and thank God; because that means that they do get it..how incredible that the much older owner and their employees simply DoNot...Well NOT be a customer ever again, nor my WHOLE family and Friends will ever be. BIG Disappointment!!!
Horrible service. Rude workers. The lady comes out, gives us a, hand in the air wave, sit where you want, well get to you eventually. Needless to say. I turned right around, i will never spend my money where it is not wanted. Some of those old ladies need to retire if they cant keep up with the crowd. Stink ass attitudes.
Rosies used to be a good wholesome family restaurant. Not sure what happened but service and food has gradually diminished to nothing and servers are rude and bitchy. Today is officially last time I ever enter this establishment. TWO THUMBS DOWN.Do not recommend eating at Rosies!

2022-04-15I ordered a perch dinner and was asked if I wanted tartar sauce, which I said yes. When the waitress went to put the two small containers of tartar sauce in the bag one fell on the floor. She proceeded to put it in the bag with my food and I had to stop her. She said she would get another, but why did I have to tell her? And she didnt throw it away, she put it on the counter, so Im sure the next customer will get it. All restaurants should be well aware by now the need for cleanliness and to be sanitary. Covid 19 for the last 2 years should have reiterated this to everyone, especially restaurants and medical facilities. I proceeded to tell her that she should never place anything in a customers food bag that has fallen on the floor, and especially not in front of the customer. What did she think I was going to say? No apology was ever made by the waitress to me. I will not be returning which is sad because Ive been a customer for years. I have lived in Lorain for 64 years.

2022-04-13I go here often and the food is always good. Never any complaints at all. Always satisfied. The prices are good and the service is good. The waitresses are always on top of things and come to your table with a friendly mood and smile no matter how many times ya call to ask for something.

2022-05-13Great diner experience from the menu to the waitress ribbing the cooks on the line. Pricing was fair. Portions were good. Food was quick and got. Service was friendly and welcoming. Daily specials. Well be back soon

2021-05-23This was my first time here and it was a mixed visit.5 star food for sure, and a great value price wise. But the lack of staff and the poor building maintenance and overall cleanliness was 2-3 star. See pictures....

2022-06-01We have been going to Rosies for years! Last time we went though I had a piece of plastic bag in my salad. I thought every place has bad days so I gave them a chance today and my order was screwed up. So disappointed
