Had just a minor tune up done and they screwed that up. My brakes were a lot worse after they worked on my bike. Had to wait another day for them to fix it. Manager didnt seem to care. I guess because I didnt spend a lot at the shop. Im just glad I checked the brakes before I left and didnt get hurt riding. First impression is important to me. I wont be going back.
Im riding in Pelotonia this year and know very little about bikes. I did a bit of research before going to get my bike, but didnt really know what I was looking for or what all I would need. Taylor (we bonded over our shared name) ended up helping me and he provided excellent service! He did the body scan on me to figure out my bike measurements, picked out a super cute bike for me, and walked me around the store telling me about products he thought I should get. He was very informative, very helpful, and very funny! I never felt like he tried to upsell me and I feel really great about the items I purchased. They let me test ride the bike around the neighborhood which was really cool, and even offered a helmet from the store for me to wear (its mandatory to wear one when test riding). They also put everything on my bike while I was checking out, and Taylor even showed me how to hookup my bike rack on my car and loaded my bike up (twice, to show me different ways to do it!).Taylor also shared some information about their free classes, and showed me how to use several of the products. I feel a lot more prepared after visiting the store, have a bike that fits me really well, and am excited for my training to begin!I highly recommend the store for all of your biking needs! Thanks again gentlemen for all of your help!
I was looking for a particular Giant bike. The store does not normally stock this bike, but the salesman stated they had one in the warehouse. I would have to pay up front and I owned it when it came in. Made me a little nervous paying approximately $900 for a bike i never rode before. They did let me test ride a similar bike, but it had lesser components. I took a chance and ordered it. I got a call to pick up the bike Monday 9-28-15. The caller stated they were getting ready to go on winter hours, but assured me they would be open at 10am. I arrived and the store was closed. I called their number, someone was inside and opened the door. The worker was nice enough to get my bike ready immediately. I took a test ride while they watched. I took the bike home and made a few adjustments to suit me. Seems like a great bike. Roll likes to brag how they go the extra mile fitting you to the bike. That was not my experience. It was average and the staff seemed rather bored in my opinion. They were civil to me, but not friendly. Update!............. After riding this bike a few miles, it seemed something was wrong. I took it to another Giant dealer (not a Roll). The mechanic adjusted my bikes and it seems 100% better. He stated my front disc brake was bent. The front derailleur was dragging on the chain guard. The rear derailleur was over shifting. Both wheels were out of true. Both disc brakes needed adjustment. My crank bolts were loose. I rode approximately 20 miles on the Olentangy Trail immediately after the work was completed. My bike rides much smoother. It is like night/day.
I visited roll: Bike Shop on Lane Ave. [at 1510 W. Lane Ave.] recently [12-27-2019] because I had been in the neighborhood for other reasons and just happened to see their bicycles hanging in their window, while I has been walking past, and decided to visit.I am a former bicycle rider who had been hit by a truck while bicycling during 1978 and now have a Traumatic Brain Injury and cannot safely bicycle any more. I miss bicycling; visiting roll: Bike Shop on Lane Ave. allowed me to vicariously re-connect with an important part of my past.Typically, my conversations about bicycling focus entirely on the crash; my recent visit to roll: Bike Shop on Lane Ave. gave me the opportunity to recall some of the things that I had really enjoyed about bicycling. The design of roll: Bike Shop on Lane Ave. is superb. And they have a device on which people can stand that is able to determine the appropriate size for a bicycle based on the side of the person.I learned about some of the safety features that have been added to bicycling during the past 40 years and even spoke with someone who remembers the former Campus Bike Shop that I also remember as being near the intersection of N. Fourth St. and E. 11th Ave.

2022-07-23I’m usually happy to support local shops, but a place that so blatantly fleeces their customers does not deserve your business. I needed to remove the sprocket from an old wheel; a quick and easy job that I would gladly do myself if I had the correct tool. The tech took my wheel to the back and had it apart in less than 2 minutes. Then, without flinching, proceeded to charge me $20 (plus tax)! A bike shop that cared about happy customers and guarantee my repeat business might charge a few bucks max, or offer to lend me the tool, but 9 of 10 would probably wave me off when I reached for my wallet. Needless to say, that’s the last of my money roll: will ever see.If you’re the type of person that enjoys burning bonfires of cash, bragging about how much you pay for things, or otherwise equate the best with most expensive, then this might be your kind of place. On the other hand, if you care about getting a fair deal in exchange for your hard-earned dollars then Id stay away from this shop.

2020-09-22Great people to deal with and the mechanics do good work. I’ve used the shop many times to purchase gear and for bike repairs. I have always been satisfied with their work, employees and prices. We ran into a small problem one time and discussed options and worked out a solution. To me the sign of a good business is what you do when something goes wrong. They have my recommendation

2020-05-28Roll is the best bike shop in town. I purchased my bike there about 10 years ago and received excellent service. I have also taken my bike there for tune ups, and servicing. They are always friendly, and provide quick and efficient service. And of course they do a great job! I highly recommend purchasing a bike from them.

2021-05-04Good service. Happened to get lucky with them actually having a bike in stock that fit me, but their staff did a great job explaining the bike and answering questions.

2019-09-04Perfect experience. I came in to get my tires and tubes replaced and was shown exactly why my tire went flat and the extent of its damage. Was also shown different products and I knew exactly what I was buying. The guys there are very cool and have lots of personal experience. Would recommend this shop to anybody, my new go to! The prices are perfect!

2020-08-10This shop has the absolute worst customer service of any establishment Ive been to.I bought a bike to get delivered and they sold the bike I paid for to someone else. They didnt bother to tell me until I had to call and leave multiple emails asking when my bike was being delivered. They were out of stock of pretty much every bike so I settled on a bike that was of much less quality for the same price. After placing that order they still never dropped off my bike and wanted me to come into pick it up. The only reason I ordered from Roll is because they offer a delivery service. I drive a small car that cannot fit a bike so I dont have a way to pick it up. I took a day off work and borrowed a friends car to come get the bike. I called beforehand to see if it was a good time to come in and they said yes. I arrived and there was about 20-25 people waiting in line outside. That clearly is not a good time to come in and they were extremely busy.I finally got the bike delivered but it was only after calling and telling them I wanted to cancel the order. I was pretty frustrated but I got the bike so I dealt with it.A couple months later my bikes back tire is completely worn off and I noticed that the store installed the wrong tire. They wanted to place blame on the manufacturer and were going to call in a warranty claim. Its a $30 tire. Just help me get it fixed so I can get back on the road. I would of paid for a replacement right there just to get it over with. The guy who I spoke with made it seem like he was going to run in and call and come back out to let me know whats going on but no I waited outside for 45 minutes only for him to tell me it will take a few days. You probably should have told me that before I sat there in the sun.Im so frustrated with this business. Ive spoke with multiple employees and not one single person seems like they have worked in customer service a day in their life. Im sure they are knowledgeable about bikes but that doesnt help if they cant communicate with people. Maybe its because I bought a entry level bike and they dont value my business as much as the rich people who buy multi thousand dollar bikes?I have given this shop multiple chances and I am going to find somewhere else. Its a shame because I was planning on getting a much higher end bike next season but it looks like Ill have to buy it from any other bike store because theres no way they could be as awful as this shop.

2020-10-04Not all Roll: stores are the same and this one is the best. Great staff, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. I drive out of my way to shop here.Their level of service overcomes all brand recognition for bike models but it helps that they sell Giants and Cannondales so I can always find what I need.

2017-06-17I came to the bike shop to get my tires replaced as well as get a new tube for my back tire. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The shop was busy and promised my bike would be ready by 5PM. I received a call much earlier (around 3PM) and was able to pick up my bike early. I am very satisfied with the work and would recommend this place to anyone needing good service at an affordable price!

2019-08-08I checked out a couple bike shops in Columbus and this one consistently has knowledgeable, friendly staff. My questions are always answered and then some, and I can usually find whatever I need here. The mechanic staff will help you out with basic questions and does a great job when I bring my bike in, at reasonable rates.

2019-07-26I took my excellent condition 2011 Giant avail 3 in for a trade in. When I took it in, we discussed the trade-in value (approx. $165 blue book or so) but was told it need to be expected first by their mechanic, which of course was fine. I test rode 3 bikes while there intending to buy one of them with the trade-in. I was told I’d have a quote in 24-48 hours. I called back 2 days later and asked about the quote, which still had not been done, and then was called back 10 minutes later saying they only accepted trade-ins worth $300 or more. This was the first time anyone mentioned this, the roll website doesn’t state this, and I was offered 10 percent off a new bike instead. I of course declined and will take my business somewhere else that won’t waste time.
