I purchased a vehicle from Richland Motors in 2020. I knew generally what I was looking for, and what a fair price would be. They had multiple options to choose from in their inventory, all with very good listed prices.Since I was purchasing a used vehicle, I wanted to have my mechanic look at, but it was difficult to arrange a time that fit with my work schedule. The Richland team arranged to have the car taken to my mechanic, and after the assessment, Richland made all recommended repairs (minor stuff like brakes, the car was sound) and had it ready for me in just a few days.They dealt professionally and fairly, and for any budget conscious buyer that appreciates their “no-frills” setup means lower overhead and better pricing, I would highly recommend consulting them before your next purchase.I recently had a friend tell me about an awful car buying experience they recently had, which prompted me to write this review. ***STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE***Purchased a car on November 15th. Once Mark Anderson received my money, he became incredibly difficult to reach. I arranged to get the car towed to me in MA. Once received, I was surprised to see a bunch of dings and scratches that were not mentioned on the advertisement. I also paid $395 for a ceramic coating, which I dont believe was actually done as the car was in dirty condition when I received it. From the start, I made a $500 security deposit on the car to get the ball rolling. With the $395 that I was charged for the ceramic coating, I should be getting a refund for the remaining amount, which I still havent received IT HAS BEEN OVER 45 DAYS NOW. Not to mention, I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED THE TITLE AND CANT EVEN REGISTER THE CAR. When I asked Mark where the title was, he claimed that he did not know. And when asked about my refund, he claimed that he shouldnt give me back my money.PLEASE NOTE: This text was from December 1st! It took me about 2-3 days to get things sorted with my bank and the dealership received a check for the full amount literally 4 days later. How is that a long time? And yet, it is taking them over 45 days to give me my title and my refund. I AM STILL WAITING NOW!UPDATE: It has been 2 MONTHS since the car has been sold to me. I still dont have the title or my refund. I called the dealership and Mark placed me on hold for over 16 minutes and never returned to the phone. See you in court!
Poor customer service and cars... ruined my daughters first car buying experience. Sold us a car with a blown head gasket. Then after I contacted BBB to see my options he refused to even look at the car like he said he would. He acted totally unprofessional because we drove the car back to the shop even after telling him there was no issue until we drove the car 4 hours. He was very rude and just keep insisting theres no way it the head gasket well weve had the car looked at elsewhere and thats exactly what it is. His business is one of the worst Ive ever dealt with and he is very unprofessional and not a good person overall. But karma is my friend and will come to see him. Dont go see Mark he will rip you off!!!
I highly recommend this dealership. Its a nice small town dealership right in the heart of Parma. Mark is as honest as they come. A no pressure, straight shooter like Mark is hard you come by. I would not hesitate to send my friends and family there to purchase a vehicle.
Worst car buying experience of my life and I have purchased MANY cars. Took off of work early to purchase a car, salesman was gone although he told me he would stick around until I got there, when I called his cell phone he proceeded to yell and curse at me for some unorganization on HIS part... the vehicle was in very rough shape but thats fine, I can deal with the car not being what I thought but the way the salesman behaved was completely unacceptable and beyond out line.
This is my experience with Richland motors. I contacted mark a few days ago about purchasing a truck. i requested a few more detailed pictures being that Im 3 hours away and cant come see it in person. after multiple emails and text messages he finally sent pictures which I appreciate. I then contacted my credit union and asked mark twice yesterday about leaving a deposit. the first request was ignored and the second he responded he would be back in the office in the morning. the next morning I hear nothing so I call again about a deposit. Mark states that someone is on there way to check it out but if that falls through I can. well the truck sold. Ive never had to work so hard to buy a car, it was like pulling teeth to get any information. I would pass on this dealership, there are plenty others that want to earn your business.the cars may be nice, im not sure. but the service leaves much to be desired.
I originally made a good review because I started out having a good experience with Richland Motors. Now, not so good. My engine light came on and I had a warranty. When I was given the warranty I was told that he was backing the car for 45 days/4,500 miles. I made arrangements to get the car seen several times. First of all, if you are looking to buy a car from a place where you can wait at the business while service is completed, this is NOT the place to go. No waiting area available. Then I found out that the warranty I had did not cover just anything. Now to give credit where credit is due, he did offer to see my car regardless and take care of whatever the problem was. Problem was he had every excuse under the sun why he couldnt come and get my vehicle and give me a loaner (which he offered to do) Three different occasions he had a reason why he couldnt do it today. Finally, I replaced the gas cap and it solved the problem. At that time, I told him it was just the gas cap and cancelled any service required from him. I also reminded him that he still had my title, to which he told me it would be there soon. Originally, I was told Id have it within a week or so. Then 2 days before I need plates, I still have no title. His reason??? Because when I bought the car, my husband didnt want me to and he was visibly upset that I wanted the car. But I was buying the car with MY money, not my husbands money...just so were clear here. So he says he held the deal because he was afraid my husband would be upset about the engine light coming on and if he threw a fit about it, then Richland Motors was prepared to return my money and take the car back. Not once did he tell me he was holding the deal and NEVER was it ever mentioned that the car might be returned. So 2 days before I needed plates, he assured me hed have my title. The next day, he told me because of traffic, he once again did not have my title. Well, he was open that day for at least 8 hours...must have been some bad traffic if you cant get a title in an 8 hour day. By this time I was pretty livid myself and threatened to involve the police if I didnt have my title by the next day. Well, I did end up finally getting it the day before my plates were due. I feel like I pretty much got the run around for the 1st 44 days I had the car. Mark (Richland Motors) seemed like a nice person when I bought the car, but had an attitude with me more than once when I was asking for things that I felt I was entitled to be asking. I will say I love my car. Im not sorry I have it, but beware of how youre treated in this place.
My sister and I were looking for a car and we checked out Richland Motors last Monday. We test drove 2 vehicles and she decided to purchase a 2008 Toyota Camry. The Camry just arrived on the lot with only 103,000 miles. The Carfax indicated regular servicing too. The salesperson, Mark Anderson, was friendly and patient as he carefully listened to my sisters concerns. The final terms were agreed upon and she felt comfortable with the monthly payment. On Tuesday, Mark personally drove the car to my sisters house. The car looked brand new. The scratches were buffed out and the interior was shampooed and vacuumed. In addition, new brakes were installed. All in all, we were very impressed with Richland Motors and would recommend them without any hesitation.
My husband and I just brought an SUV and I love it, it was better than the pictures❤ I called them last night and was to excited to wait for a reply so I called as soon as they opened this morning around 8:16am and I talked to Mark he literally had me my keys by 11:30am all business handled over the phone he was so polite and talked to me every step of the way once I saw them in person because they was nice enough to bring my vehicle to me...paperwork was faster then the phone call lol I really recommend this place and I definitely will be shopping here again soon. Mark is a really nice guy and very reasonable some people are rude and dont care about anything but a sale so if you are respectful to him and mean business he is really worth your time😊
Would highly recommend this dealership. The salesman Mark was wonderful to work with. He was quick to respond to my request for more information on the vehicle. He was honest and the vehicle was just as he described it. We drove over two hours to purchase the vehicle and it was well worth the drive. Thanks Mark for making our purchase a great buying experience.
I bought a old Camry here and they were good people to deal with. I am leary of used car dealers, but I bought a good honest car from them. I bought a old 1991 Camry that they had....when I got the car home, I put the car away for the winter. I drive it in the spring, summer and fall and keep the old car out of the salt.I bought the car a year and a half ago and had to do little to it. It needed a mass air flow sensor, but other than that, it has been problem free.I would consider buying here again.
Im posting for Richland Motors and Mark in particular, that I had a great experience buying a used car from them. I bought a great car at a great price compared to what I found elsewhere. I really love the Scion XA I bought. I needed the most reliable transportation I could find for the money. And I have been looking for a month or so on Autotrader and craigslist with no luck. I started searching inventories of different dealers and found this wonderful car. Also I took a look around and found their repair shop is up to par. As with any used car you have to do your due dilligence, do your research and find the best ,cleanest low mile car for the money, treat finding a car like a job, and it can work out. They were very helpful and low pressure and I took the car for a long drive until I was sure I liked it. I looked underneath , and quite honestly they would of got it on a lift or let me take it somewhere to look it over. They are doing quality work. They been around a really long time. and are doing honest fair business. Im enjoying my car every day. I would use them again if they have a car I want.
Went there to look at a van I saw on Facebook. Looked great from the pics I’ve seen but when I got there, the guy, Mark I believe was his name was very rude after I mentioned the monthly payments was a little high. He didn’t bother trying to compromise or work with me, even after I mentioned the van was going to be a gift for my elderly dad or that I was going to make a huge down payment. Simply told me I wasted his time & walked away like I wasn’t standing there. Will NOT be back, even if the van price went down, I don’t like how I was treated
I recently went there and purchased a vehicle. I had a great experience with the test drive which led me to buy the car. I believe I got a great deal for the car I have. They also have a on site mechanic to fix any problems you have before you even leave the lot. They actually replaced all 4 tires from the vehicle before we finally got the keys free of charge to insure we were absolutely satisfied. I have nothing but good things to say about this place.
Love the mechanic here, thats like the only positive experience Ive had. So far Ive been involved in 3 vehicle purchases from them and I should have learned after the second. The first one had rotted out springs and a gas gauge that didnt work so I never knew how much gas I had, so I had to run around with a gas can in the trunk just in case. The second car had a leak in the rear diff and an anti theft system that was shorted out and burned itself out until my car wouldnt start at all. This third car isnt mine, but I was with the purchaser during the deal and have been helping after. When we went to look at the vehicle, it had to be jumped (typical of cars that have sat for a while) but it was so much worse than that. And it had a misfire. The purchaser was given a deal and the car was to be fixed before pickup if they bought it. The only thing that was fixed was the misfire. The battery still went dead, so we went to auto zone and got a new battery but theres something still draining it that was never fixed, plus it had a flat tire from a leaking wheel seal that they just reinflated every day to get the car sold. We went and got that fixed and are now dreading the battery drain fix.
I got a good deal on a car here....I knew they also were BSing about it needing new tires but in reality it needed a replacement of a rear differential bearing.They waiting FOREVER to get me my title. I got it on the 44th day barely able to register the car to me. A lot of shadiness going on here. if I didnt fix the car I probably would of returned it. It has been great since then...dont think Ill be back. Be cautious.
So Mark my 2 star rating has nothing to do with you or your company. It was how I was feeling at the time. And I want to thank you for the advice you gave me and I had all intentions on changing my rating of Richland Motors. But since you put my credit score out there like you did and pulling the report without my permission. I will leave it like it is. And once again thanks for the advice I found a car I like.
Ive purchased multiple cars from Mark since 2006. I will never go to anyone else when Im ready to buy again. The best part about this place is that they really care about you even after they make the sale. You wont find too many businesses like this in Cleveland. Highly recommended!
Do Not purchase your vehicle from here!! They will make you think you are getting a good deal but in the end you will be sorry!!I was online looking at the H3 hummer for sale which was clearly listed at 7995 with 166xxx miles on it, (I have the screen shot) I have been going back and forth with Mark for 2 days in possible purchasing the vehicle. I drove 4 hours to purchase the vehicle, like any person I was excited about the new truck.I get there to complete the paperwork and I noticed the finance price was a little high but I figured it was due to my credit not being so good. They were closing so they were rushing me to get done.After I got home and relooked through all the paperwork,(btw never got a copy of the finance papers I signed) I noticed the sale price listed was for $4000 more than what they had listed online for and I was never told of the new sale price. Never!!When I contacted Mark to ask why I was never told of the 4000 increase in just 1 day.( I was speaking with Mark for the past 2 days might I add, you would of thought out of the decency of being a human being he would of mentioned the tremendous price jump)he did not of course, and only thing he mentioned was the total amount of the financing I will be paying he never once mentioned the sale price of the vehicle or the fact that it even changed.The only thing to Marks defense was they have the right to change the sale price at any given time so I asked him you mean to tell me this sell price jumped up to almost $4,000 on the day that you knew I was coming to pick the vehicle up????? (What a load of bullsh**) how do you change a price on a vehicle and dont notify the buyer???? Mark had no intention of notifying me because all they care about is getting your money and then they have a policy of no refunds when you put down a downpayment so the $3,000 down I put apparently I just lost!!!!There is no way I would have paid almost $13,000 for a used vehicle with that many miles on it.The price they have listed for that vehicle was 7995, and Mark change the price the day I was coming to pick the vehicle up to justify him charging me that much. I wish I would have paid more attention to their deceptive ways and the numbers on the contract even when I contacted the finance company their numbers are different than whats on the papers when I call the dealership back to ask them to send me a copy of the papers that I signed they were hesitant and reluctant and stated theyll see what they can do how can I not get a copy of papers that I signed with your dealership??? That is because they know they were lying and they were deceptive in getting me to purchase this vehicle.Mark refuses to admit his deception and I have contacted the finance company to try and get out of this contractIm obtaining an attorney to file a lawsuit against them,If anyone else has had a bad experience of being deceived or fraudulent actions on a vehicle purchased from this company please contact me or contact an attorney as I feel like Im not the only person that they have done this too, and if no one takes action they will continue to lie and trick and deceive people.if I have to do this on my own, (through the news, social media, or whatever) Im going to make sure they dont get away with what they did to me.We as consumers need to come together and stand up for our rights against companies like this , they dont have the right to do and say whatever they want, lie and be deceptive like this to their customers but they do because no one stands up and fights against them.we can get a class action lawsuit against them if we have enough people to come forward and report their fraudulent ways.
Got a 2004 ram 1500, 60 days and 1000 miles ago. Took it to Dodge for an oil change. Truck seems ok to me but service tech said upper and lower ball joints were blown out, tie rods were shot stabilizer no good,basically front end complete rebuild,man did I make a huge mistake. You would think these items would have been fixed to make the truck safe,but what do I know. I DO KNOW I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.
Terrible customer service!! Mark said he would have my car done in day and would call me and he did neither!! They sell you cars as is..dirty no fluids and bad brakes..never go there. He is just mean and arrogant...also there accreditation with BBB has been revoked due too so many complaints. No longer backed by the better business bureau!!!
This has to be the worst experience ever! I initially left a review stating that it was great service... however I’ve had the vehicle 44 days now there telling me I have to bring the vehicle back because they couldn’t prove my income... ok that’s fine (don’t know why I could leave with it if you couldn’t prove my income) now they contact me and say that I have to return the vehicle, which is no problem but Mark also says I can’t get my deposit back! But what mark doesn’t know is that my lawyer has read the contract and will be in contact with them soon... it’s simple you got your property back, I should be refunded my money, if not all of it at least a good portion of it... I’m the wrong guy to run this scam on 😉... could’ve been real simple, you got your van back I get my money back...
Never come here. I call and ask if a truck is available and Im told yes. I tell the worker Im on my way to look at the truck. 20 minutes I get there. I take a look under it, decide it is in decent shape and I can consider buying it. I go talk to the employee, Im told hes the only person there. Its the same guy I talked to on the phone. he then tells me someone put a deposit on the truck already & it was sold. I talked to the guy 20 minutes prior and he said it was available. He claimed I talked to someone else.. even though it was the same voice and he clearly stated he was the only person there. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
They are scammers and cons i bought a hummer h3 from them n less than a year my truck want go in reverse i n brakes rotors struts a window shield steering shaft rack and pinoin sunroof stable pins and it havent had a tune up in years the whole bottom of the hummer is rusted i mean everything n they covered it up with black paint i asked to get it fixed they said its not there problem i even called the shady bank they recommended n they said the same thing. How do i suppose to pay a $320 car note n basically build a new hummer lol this is so depressin i really wish i nevered went there they are jerks and MARK IS THE RUDEST PERSON! Im thinkin they dont fix cars that they purchase from auction they put it staight on lot wit a little spray paint WOW i know im right. Check the bottom of the vehicle befor you purchase it just sad
Well just got a truck from them had a few issues at the dealership but they fixed one issue... on my way home the oil pressure sensor kept popping on saying low oil pressure... turns out that ended up being a 200 dollar part an a ton of work.... then look into a noise that also started the day I left the lot turns out the transfer case which is a $1,000+ part was bad an they had to of known that an they decided to deceive me!! Im not happy at all with how much money Ive put into this truck and havent even had it 48 hours!!! Beware of this dealer an their lies! Look into every little thing b4 u pull away or sign papers they will screw you!
Very Fast and Easy to Buy a Car here, bought a high mileage 2009 Acura TSX for a great price, very willing to negotiate for the best price since the car had lots of repairs needed. Super smooth transaction thank you in and out in like 30 min.All their cars are in pretty good condition lots of good deals i check their website all the time. They told me their cars are from other dealerships. They dont buy from auctions cause it carries too much risk highy recommend.2nd review here, bought another car it was a 2007 acura TL smooth transaction took 30 min to finish including test drive. Prob the fastest dealership in cleveland. They are also very professional kept their word on holding the car even when people said they had a interested in it. When i called in to schedule a test drive the day before they promised to hold it and thats exactly what they did. A++They are very true to their word, definitly will come again.
Update to my original review: Please dont waste your money. Before my purchase I asked if this was a salvage vehicle and he said no but when i got the title it was. And it hasnt even been a year and i had to put a new transmission and a radiator in a truck that i dont even drive much because its a second vehicle. WTH!
Called about a dodge caravan and the man who answered the phone was very rude I asked if it was sold and it was then I asked him if he had anything similar and he told he had a couple of years newer but it had 55 thousand more miles than the one I asked about I said thats just to high before I could ask about another car he just said ( ok well good luck and hung the phone up ) this was 10/4/21 a 1220pm what bad business I was only trying to get some help looking for another car wow not a very good place to go if the sales people are like this 😒
Ive been contacting mark for 2 months now in regards to a billing issue where im being charged 1398$ for a warrenty I cancelled after the first week because after I drove off his lot A bunch of issues arised with the truck that wasnt under warranty(of course) was told Id recieve a refund for warrenty but instead he just keeps saying his office is to busy to look into it...Id highly recommend a different lot!
Very unprofessional and dishonest. They will sell you a car with the engine light on and pretend like they fixed it. They just clear the light off instead of Gideon going it. They also guarantee the vehicle will pass the E check... Not!! And then pretend like their mechanic is so booked. Beware!!!
I personally have gotten 2 vehicles here. My little brother also got a vehicle here. Neither of us have ever had an issue with the person working here or the vehicle itself. (Other than obvious repairs vehicles need over time as wd have each owned these vehicles for years!!)
I called ahead and told Richland Motors I was 40min away. I get there before their closing time and the place is locked up. Not only did they close early, but they knew I was coming and still they left. There was another gentleman there at the same time who called ahead but also couldnt get in. This place is very disrespectful to potential customers.
I GIVE FIVE STARS ON THE WORSE PLACE TO PUSCHASE A USED VEHICLE !!! LIKE THE PIECE OF JUNK I PURCHASED FROM RICHLANDMOTORS LOCATION ON PEARL ROAD. NOT EVEN A MONTH BEFORE I HAD TO SPEND MONEY TO TRY TO MONEY TO AT LEAST GET THE EMISSIONS INSPECTON TO PASS, ONLY TO GET HIT WITH WORSE ( OUT OF POCKET ) REPAIRS. SO FAR, EVEN PUTTING MY LIFE AND MY KIDS IN DANGER FOR NOT INSTALLING THE ENGINE AIR FILTER ON MY VEHICLE THE LAST TIME IT WAS ON THEIR SHOP. REFUSE TO CALL BACK WHEN I LEAVE A MESSAGE, DELETE EMAIL WHEN I USED THAT TO COMMUNICATE THE VEHICLES PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING, ETC. BBB SHOULD NOT BE A LOGO ON THEIR BUILDING FOR SURE. STILL ISSUES WITH THE CAR, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON THREE MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE. I WONDER , HOW WOULD THEYD FEEL IF SOMEONE FROM THEIR FAMILY HAD THE SAME AS THEY MAKE IT FOR OTHERS?

2022-07-26Excellent experience in looking for a solid used auto for my friend, that is an international graduate student. The sales rep that helped us was very patient and low key. He brought as a sweet little sedan that was in excellent shape. No pressure to buy and he did extra research at our request. We liked it and bought it . No fuss. No muss!

2022-08-20Ok experience. They look like good guys but I think they could do a bit better. They were not upfront with me in regards to all of the issues that the car had and kind of didn’t answer the phone or texts after I purchased the car. If they improved on these two points, I would have rated on a 4 or 5.

2022-05-20They have some great looking cars. It seems they take real good care of them. I advise to have the car checked by a mechanic. We did and it saved us from making a mistake.

2022-07-24They sold me a truck with a huge hole in the frame along many other problems. The salesman Mark was rude and in a big hurry to rush the sale. I wouldnt recommend buying anything there.

2021-11-04I would not recommend . Especially to young or New financiers . Make sure to getEverything in writing especially interest rates and duration of payment . Mark was very nice up until he received my money. Also make sure everything works in the vehicle before taking off the lot cause then they’re “limited” when it comes time to fix something . He also stated they could just repo my car after I found out how much everything would actually cost and I asked for my money and trade in back . AGAIN WOULD NOT RECOMMEND . Go anywhere but here.

2021-12-30I purchased a vehicle sight unseen. I called and asked specific questions about the condition of the vehicle. I was told one small mark which could be seen in the photo. After I paid and made transport arrangements, I received the car. The car was not clean/detailed and I was told they didn’t have a chance (between the down payment and transport they had at least a week). The condition of the vehicle also was inaccurate, there was at least $3000 in damage. Then when it came to the title, I had to contact them multiple times (it took so long that my temp tags expired). I paid full price and did not haggle and there has been zero effort to make things better (not even an apology).

2021-10-22Called last week to see if I can have my car looked at spoke with Mark who was nice at the time and assured I would get a call from the mechanic to schedule. I called him today to follow up. I called in and said “hello I am calling to see when I can expect a call from the mechanic?” He replied rudely ABOUT!? Didn’t say sure, can I ask your name or the car you are calling about? Then tried to argue with me about how I called in LOL. Must’ve not being having a good morning. But I will talk to a different mechanic to see if I can get a more pleasant experience.

2021-10-23Bought a car from them recently and have had a terrible attitude about it. Asked them to leave the car out of the lot to be able to pick it up after close, and they said they would do it. And yet its locked up in the lot, having to wait 2 days to be able to pick it up, would not recommend getting a car from here.
