Was really excited to come here but kinda disappointed. I guess I was hoping for more of a sandwich. I got the WRIGHT TURKEY. Sounded amazing on the menu, well on the plate not so much. Hardly any turkey, a single tiny slice to tomatoe, minimal cranberry spread, and no herb cheese. My sister ordered the Avacado B.L.T. and was disappointed also. The chicken fingers are amazing along with deep fried pickles, but to be a deli I was not feeling to much of New York style sandwiches.
This was pretty good. We waited a little bit to place our order, but once we were given our number and found a place to sit, it did not take long for our food to arrive. I had a tuna salad sandwich and I found it tasty. You can choose your bread and they lightly toast it for you. It was a very good sandwich. Standard restaurant look, but I enjoyed the food and was in and out rather quickly.
I thought the food was good as an USAF retiree I really liked the atmosphere. Good value. I had the DH 4 ITALIAN, the wife chicken salad an daughter had club. We all took half the sandwich home. The only thing that was a little off to me was the corn and shrimp soup. Just not thick enough for my taste. Great place to bring the family.
Good food, and employees were nice, just a little bit on the slow slide as far as speed of service goes. We did visit during the peak of lunch time, so that is probably why. Cool atmosphere, with plenty of seating and decor. Overall, I was impressed with my first visit based on the food, and will most likely return.
New York Deli style sandwiches. Spacious, friendly staff, great service and food. Ordered the cheese steak, meat plentiful, hot and tender, bun warm and soft, very tasty. Moderate price, military discount, Coke products served. Sandwiches come with chips. Will definitely eat there again!
This is a fun restaurant! Calling it a deli seems to do it a diservice as they have much more than just sandwiches. But they do have a great selection of sandwiches, too! Plus different soups each day of the week. They have some interesting selections, too, and everything Ive tried has tasted good. The decor and theme is avation so its really neat to look around. They work very hard at carrying the theme through everything they do.
A nice place for getting together with friends or family for some food. Food is mainly deli sandwich style. Food was good, but is not very unique or different than other similar restaurants. I DO LIKE that it is locally owned by military veterans. They have many sandwich options and have a good variety of local craft beers. There is also occasionally live music.
My wife and I LOVE this restaurant. The New Yorker sandwich is easily the best sandwich weve ever had in the Dayton area. Its massive and takes both of us to eat it, but the price ($18.99) is steep (again, for two people). Their potato salad is bland, and the chips are really good. We just had a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, and its AMAZING! If youre a chocolate person, youve got to try it.
I love this place! Food tastes great, has large portions and prices are very reasonable! It’s military-theme is very interesting, planes on display everywhere including hanging from the ceiling. It really is a museum, showing the history of aviation. My grandson will love airplane simulator! I was there last week, going back tonight! It’s that good!
I always have a great time here, really enjoy the atmosphere, food and drinks. The flight simulator is a cool feature. I recently hosted a party here in the banquet hall area and the owner and staff were very helpful. Several of the attendees commented on how much they liked the venue. Definitely recommended!
The food is amazing and with portions this big you wont leave hungry or dissatisfied. Flyboys decor is very cool and the seating areas indoor and out are extremely clean. This deli is the best I cannot get enough of the clean fresh taste of their Apache wrap, and the Ruebens are to die for. I try to order something new every time I go and I havent had a dud yet.
Tried this place for the first time tonight with family. Nice sandwich selection at reasonable prices with a Korean influence/menu as well as a surprisingly good craft beer selection. I saw advertisements for trivia, Life game and even WSU basketball game post talk show. Thought food was good and place was clean, good for groups and families. While the restaurant name doesnt quite portray menu and staff seemed a little out of sync with the kitchen, this was a nice find on a busy Saturday night at the mall.
I went on 8 Apr 19 around 1130 am. First time going and had the best Reuben sandwich (cornbeef) I ever had in my left. I almost lick the sauerkraut out the basket it was in. I am going back today for another sandwich today. Atmosphere was very nice. Cashier was very polite and courteous. I took her advice and ordered the Liberty Reuben. I was very please with the food and service
Ok the food is good here but the whole “Best BBQ” in Dayton. Come on now. This is one of those”Trendy” cool hip “fusion” places where they mix stuff and try to make it interesting and its a good attempt but it doesn’t stand a chance against authentic BBQ so don’t get hyped. Don’t get me wrong, food was ok, but the Brisket and other items weren’t the out of this world thing it seems to be claiming. Although it IS Dayton, but there are better BBQ places around (just not City BBQ). But Service was great and the staff was good. Place is clean.
This place is a gem in the corner of Fairfield Commons! Live music from Willow Bend band was excellent!! You order first and sit down. More than just sandwiches, had a great Korean dish. Atmosphere is laid back and family friendly if need be. Full service bar as well. Enjoyed the overall experience.
Love this place! Visited here last week with my friends. We had reuben sandwich, buffalo chicken wrap, buffalo chicken pizza, K-pop chicken and rice burger. Food was amazing and staffs were very friendly. They have broad selection of food and signature Korean dishes. Try the Soju cocktail if you want something new!
I have been putting off going here because upon looking at the menu it seems like a small collection of simple sandwiches. Finally gave it a chance recently and was shown how wrong I was for waiting. Simply terrific sandwiches and sides. Dont let the menu fool you, these simple sandwiches are delicious, well-done and worth every penny.
Our first time here and we couldnt have been more pleased. I ate the Reuben and it was the best Ive had in a long time. My fellow patrons equally enjoyed their sandwich of choice. The flight simulator was an added treat, even though crashing the plane was my preferred landing method.
Had a great first experience at Flyboys! Food was delicious, service was good. It was trivia night so that was an added bonus. Ordered the Chipotle Chicken in a spinach wrap and it was really good. Everyone at our table said that the item they ordered was something they would order again.
Took my wife and nephew after shopping at mall. Simple yet very tasty. Love the atmosphere and will definitely be wanting to return. Had a really neat beefed up computer running a flight simulation to play on that went along with the theme of the restaurant. Neat touch!
Great menu but had to eventually ask where our food was. Brought it out cold, except for the bulgogi on the hot plate - that had been on the hot plate so long it was burnt. Wifes panini was cold. And they werent even busy. How does food sit ready to go out for so long? Did ANYONE notice it sitting there? I may give them another chance at a later date, but its going to be a long while.
If youre into deli sandwiches, Flyboys has a very large, very diverse selection. Ive only tried three so far, and they were all fresh and delicious. If youre into Korean-cuisine appetizers, the BBQ sampler is a must try. If youre into aircraft models and replicas, there are dozens of planes from different eras and size ratios on display throughout the restaurant. The servers are very friendly, and they have a fairly large space in the back for private events and gatherings.
The inherit use of 2 microwaves to heat stuff up is not what a true deli should be like. Use a convection oven or something else even a steamer would be nice. The raider nachos are okay. Nothing to ride home about at all. Everything seems to be bought and just thrown together and not fresh. This is my first ever visit here. I dont know if I will honestly be back. The decor is unique and military themed. I love that. I guess Im just expecting more from a ex military ran business.
Locally owned and operated deli with a neat (and authentic) aviation theme. The food is good. I had the BLT which was very enjoyable. Where Flyboys really shines, however, is their service. The owner was right there showing tables and taking orders with the frontline staff. He came to check on us a couple of times without coming across as overbearing. For a quick and tasty bite at reasonable pricing with mich better than average service, I recommend Flyboys.
I’ve been three times and I don’t think I’ll go back. The food is just ok, but the portions are comically small. I got a chicken panini that was barely bigger than a slider. The last time I was there I got a piece of cake that looked amazing, but was very stale. It was probably several days old.
The New Yorker was an excellent sandwich with a fantastically toasted bread... But not worth the $19 paid. The draft beer selection is good but there are a lot of low ABV with minimal flavor. I want to support a fellow veteran while visiting Dayton but the pricing by quality needs improvement.
This was our first time at the restaurant and were excited to have the potato soup as we saw that was the soup of the day. We went to the restaurant around 6pm and found out that both soups were out. I find it hard to believe that soup can run out right at dinner time. Also, the dining room was dirty with food/garbage still left on some of the tables that weren’t cleaned for the duration of our meal. Very unimpressed for a first time and would have to clean up its act for us to come again.
Flyboys is a new (as of 7-2018) locally owned restaurant in Beavercreek. It is the owners second location (The other is in Oakwood, Ohio) The food is very good. There are deli sandwiches with a twist as well as Korean menu choices. The focus is on beer but wine is available. The outside patio is built to look like a hanger. The owner is a retired Air Force pilot who is married to a woman of Korean ancestry. hence the Korean choices. You will also enjoy large pictures of airplanes and the Wright Brothers. I recommend this place if you want good beer choices and a good selection of sandwiches and Korean food from local owners.Note: At this time, it is not open on Sundays.
The deli sandwiches here are notable, the place is a tribute to the history of aviation! The game of life is offered along with corn hole and simulated aviation opportunities! I met some amazing ppl who actually gave tips on my corn hole game however the flight simulator was lacking in right rudder capacity and the wait staff are attributing it to “child’s play”. I was able to land the virtual flight simulator yesterday, however was unable to use the simulator to even throttle today. Needles I feel let down in flight but with a full deli belly. May I add that I recommend the Fairfield island on a Thursday for $5.00! The margarita however was lacking...! Krystal the waitress was so amazing and tried so hard to make my flight sim landings a reality! Hats off Krystal Rupert!

2019-04-18This is a family owned restaurant that makes high quality food. We had a Philly Cheese steak and a Reuben, both were fantastic, high quality iconic sandwiches. The service and the facilities are superb, and is a great place to visit in the area.

2018-11-01We were familiar with the original location and decided to stop by to try out the new spot. We really enjoyed the Buffalo chicken dip appetizer. I had the chicken katsu on a sticky rice bun. The chicken was fried a little darker than Id usually expect for katsu but it was delicious and juicy. I dont believe the side of sauce was mentioned on the menu and I decided not to try it since the chicken already had the traditional brown sauce drizzled on it. The rice cake bun was tasty and was completed with what I believe was Kewpie mayo. I did really enjoy the sandwich. My spouse had the bulgogi platter which was a fusion of Philly-style with peppers and cheese but the beef was prepared bulgogi with onions and a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. It was good, but the bulgogi flavor was somewhat overwhelmed by the peppers and cheese. It could stand to have the gochugaru and gochujang bumped up to match the sweetness of the peppers. The beautiful rice cakes and Kewpie mayo were a hit with him. He didnt enjoy the fish cake soup that came on the platter. I did not taste it myself to offer an opinion. Overall, the staff is friendly and kept busy when they werent attending customers at tables or at the counter. The restaurant is also kept clean and tidy, probably because the employees are keeping up with it as we witnessed. We did notice that the bar attracts a nice crowd and there are a lot of informative signs telling you about upcoming specials and events. We were interested and will return for some of those special offerings on the near future.

2018-01-30Delicious food and a great atmosphere. The original location is a great establishment and this new restaurant is a perfect match. With a wide array of menu items and a bar, this restaurant is perfect for a drink or full meal with the family.

2018-04-12New place in the heart of Beavercreek. Highly recommend this spot. The beer selection is solid, the food came out fantastic and at a decent speed and the staff is great. The only reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like for the price you should be getting chips or fries or some other side. Petty, I know, I am aware. But if youre looking for a solid place. Hit it up.

2018-07-01Really like the deli side of the menu a lot. The food is fresh and delicious. The buffalo chicken wrap is not too strong, has just the right amount of sauce in there and the veggie toppings are crisp and fresh! have been here twice and have zero complaints. I notice they now have a menu full of Korean specials (kimbop and bibimbop just to name a few of the most popular dishes), which makes me want to come back and try them again. The atmosphere is clean, military themed with lots of space if your organization chooses to have a luncheon OR wingman event here.

2019-03-20Great restaurant with wide verity of food. VERY authentic Korean food, deli sandwiches (try the turkey on a pretzel roll), wraps, and salads. Fully stocked bar with several interesting mixed drink options (with soju). Several gluten free options and GF bread available for all their deli sandwiches. I will be going back soon!

2019-01-16The sandwiches and chips are pretty good. All sandwiches come with a few chips-- comically few, in fact. The attached picture is from my most recent visit, the club sandwich came with 8 chips and three fragments of one chip. If youre going, dont expect the included chips to last the duration of the meal, youll need to buy the extra bag of chips.

2018-06-09My family and I had a lovely lunch here. Quick, friendly service. The Triangle Club, the fried rice burger, and the hot noody roll appetizer were great. On the other hand, The Yo-Yo Pastrami sandwich could have been a bit more substantial. The sides of chips that came with the sandwiches were also meager. And the Spicy House dipping sauce that came with the rolls was thin & underseasoned.

2018-09-20Really good local place for great sandwiches and great coffee. Theres a free flight simulator which was really fun, stop on in and give em a try
