Fantastic communication back and forth by Christina and her team. She made the move-in process easy, and was more than accommodating with her time, storing packages that arrived ahead of time and answering any questions I had. She provided a walk-through video of the unit prior to my arrival and has gone above and beyond.
Ive been in the process of looking for my first apartment since graduating from college and moving back to Cleveland. Residences at Leader was the first building I formally toured, and it set the bar for everything else I saw, none of which came close to offering everything this building has, especially for the price. Even better, Lacey helped make my tour, correspondence and application process a breeze. She is incredibly helpful and genuinely cares about ensuring I have the best experience possible. Im excited to hopefully move in to this great building soon - thanks to Lacey and the K&D team for offering exceptional service, and exceptional (affordable) living in Downtown!
I just moved into this building a few days ago, so I can only give my first impressions, but so far I have had a great experience. The move in process was as easy as it can be and management has been a breeze to work with. Ive asked Lacey about 110 questions and shes been so helpful and quick to reply with a smile. The day after I moved in I noticed my heat wasnt working and within 2 hours Lacey and maintenance had it fixed no problem. Seems like a really great team here and Im very happy to call this place my new home.
I have been living at residences at leader for one year now and I cannot imagine a better first apartment experience. The apartments are beautiful and appliances work well. I rarely have issues but when I do, the maintenance team fixes them perfectly and right away. Maurice from maintenance always communicates well and completes service requests quickly and always with a smile. The gym and office areas are really nice features to have. I rarely have to step into the leasing office, as everything is always taken care of, but the few times I have had to, everyone has been accommodating and friendly. The security guards are reliable and helpful. Special shoutout to Lester, the night guard, who always greets me with a smile and wave after a long day at work. Im so thankful to live at Leader and would never have any reason to live anywhere else in downtown Cleveland.
Ive lived at the Leader building for about two years now, and overall the experience has been fantastic. Units are clean, quiet, and have a great look. The gym and business center downstairs make life very convenient. Maintenance orders get taken care of within only hours of being placed. Downtown living is always a bit expensive, but the location and amenities offered at Leader make the price well worth it!
I lived at Leader for 2 years since the property was renovated and opened, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it. All staff goes to great lengths to make sure you have everything you need - from security, to maintenance, to janitorial services. Maurice is the bomb - always available to help regardless of how busy he is. Management is great - Rita was there when I moved in and honestly probably the main reason I was sold on the building in the first place. While moving out, Daniel was so prompt with reply’s and really facilitated things (only moved to change in location/ease of parking), is so kind, fun and efficient. The staff all truly values their jobs and care about their tenants every step of the way. The gym is convenient and new, everything is always clean and smelling fresh, the building is beautiful and the upkeep is unmatched. Thank you guys!!!
I have been living at the Residences at Leader for about 4 months and my time here has been everything I had been hoping for. Not only is the apartment beautiful and comfortable, the staff here are friendly and attentive. When I have run into maintenance issues, the staff generally has someone to my apartment that day or the next. Also I have enjoyed the events that the Pauline and Laura have organized for the residents and how they keep the residents aware of local events happening in the downtown area.
Maurice has consistently gone above and beyond to make my 3 years at the leader building the best. The security especially Lester have always made it feel like home be I’ll always appreciate them going above and beyond
The Residences at Leader is an amazing place to live! The beautiful remodeling is cozy yet sophisticated. The amenities are unmatchable in the area and the staff are diligent whenever you need something. Cant say enough great things about this building!
Amazing Experience while living at the Residences at Leader ! ! If you are looking for the best apartment building in Cleveland , this is it ! Rita, Cid, Doug and the rest of the staff are super friendly and very professional . Anytime I needed something done, they delivered immediately. It’s a beautiful historic building with marble common areas. The apartments are super modern and have great features like nice wood flooring , tile , granite, stainless steal appliances , washer/dryer in Unit and amazing views of the city ! The best part about living here was how quiet it was . The walls are so thick that you don’t here your neighbors !!!!I would highly recommend living here !!
The staff at Residences at Leader, Rita in particular, went out of their way to make our super tight move in timeline possible. Since having moved in, theyve remained very friendly and responsive. The building itself has been beautifully renovated and is surprisingly quiet. The units are spacious, fairly priced, and have very nice new appliances, Theres also a large gym in the basement with a wide variety of machines. We love living here and would highly recommend it. The only thing that could make it better is if we could open the windows (granted, almost all the apartments we looked at downtown had sealed windows). However, the HVAC system is nice.
I recently have been apartment hunting and went for a tour in this building. I fell so in love with the apartments and felt so welcomed and appreciated by management that I was ready to move in that day!!!! Beautiful building, amazing upkeep, and the property manager Khristen Richardson was a PLEASURE to work with! She gave us every last detail that we wanted to know and really made the process absolutely amazing!!!!
First of all, I cannot imagine living anywhere else downtown now. I absolutely love it here!It’s clean, secure, new, comfortable, modern, and best of all it’s always improving(not that it could get much better).Molly in the leasing office goes above and beyond when anything needs to be done. She is so kind, helpful and just easy to talk to.Pauline is always very welcoming and sweet!Our amenities are like no other downtown! The security 24/7 is beyond comforting. I just took a tour with a friend and this place is amazing. The lobby is such a cozy and classy feel. The security guard is super welcoming. The lady in the office was also super nice and friendly with us. Not to mention the apartment itself and everything about the beautiful is just stunning. The party room/lounge room is amazing. Would definitely live here and love it.
Leasing office/mgmt are incredible. Very accommodating, super friendly, and immensely helpful. Security desk staff is great, too. Its truly a joy to live at Leader, plus its right in the center of everything happening downtown, so its beyond convenient to walk to sporting events, concerts, dinner, and more.
I am thrilled with the personal service and attention I receive at my place of business in the Leader Building. Maurice goes above and beyond to make sure every want and need is taken care of. Ive been her for over 2 years and the staff is just great! Maurice and Mark always make me feel welcome and I can call on them for anything! Management and maintenance have been great, and extremely accommodating. Maintenance team is nice, trust worthy, and always takes care of requests. Security is always at the entrance and no one can roam the building. Everything is key access. Super safe. Elevators are fresh, quick, and never feel unsafe - and there are steps on each floor.Leader Building is filled with young professionals (some older) and people who keep to themselves. Never see children. The property hosts tenant socials with food, drinks, music, and raffles, etc.Dogs are a joy to see - IMO - and are well mannered.New everything inside the apartment unit itself, and easy to keep clean. The building has the cleanest interior facility I’ve seen. Gym, conference, hallways, elevator, always clean - never see a bug anywhere except outside. It doesn’t have a weird apartment smell like everything in Lakewood (claiming to be luxury).Murano downstairs makes it fun to meet people, drink, eat, socialize, etc. and there’s a convenient store in building incase you need something - nice people and will order a list of stuff if you ask.Summer time walking/exercising outside towards convention center and grass area is relaxing, and everything else is close.
This review is with regard to the property manager and leasing process. I have not moved in yet so I cannot comment on the living experience yet. Thus far, the leasing process has been easy and Mark (property manager) has been very helpful. Only advice I would give to new lessees would be is to read the lease thoroughly and make sure you understand it and all of the associated costs and other caveats. I will write another review once i am moved in and have been living there for a while.
Lived here for about 6 months. Residence at Leader is amazing, easily one of my favorite living accommodations in the downtown area. Well worth every penny. Around the corner from the Q, walking distance from public square, local grocery stores (ex. Heinens, Constatinos), and local restaurants all around. The amenities are top tier stainless steel appliances, modern countertops, functional washer and dryer in-unit, fitness area, conference room, etc. The conference room has really came in handy during Covid. People in the building are friendly and I am convinced the leasing manager (Mark) knows everyones name. So far I am satisfied with my stay here no complaints.
Great place to live!My wife and I have been living here since 2017. We love it! The Leader Building is in the best section of downtown. Close to everything--from the Cleveland Public Library to the Lakefront, to Browns Stadium, to the Warehouse District, to Playhouse Square, to the baseball bark, to Cleveland State University. Everything is walkable from Superior and East 6th. Great staff in the building. Kept very clean! And very responsive to maintenance requests. The building itself is extremely solid, and noise-proof. We have never heard anyone in the suites on either side of us. And there is an infant in one, and a dog in the other. The basement has a wonderful gym, as well as secure storage for your bikes. And did I mention the history of the building itself. Built in 1912 by the scion of one of Clevelands wealthy 19th century families. The lobby is richly ornate and the elevators are gorgeous; they are said to have been designed by Tiffany. Rent is reasonable for what you get. Check it out!
New in town and was looking for apartment. I noticed too late that K&D participates in bait and switch tactics. I didn’t want to live that place after that. At this time they took my deposit and don’t answer calls.
Great place to stay! Maintenance and Leasing staff is Awesome! Truly a live eat and play area, walking distance to shops, theaters etc. The Leader building has 24 hr security, fitness center and 24hr emergency maintenance staff.Chic apartment style living in downtown Cleveland Ohio at its best!
Im happy with my experience living in Residences at Leader. The building is beautiful, the staff is courteous and professional, and the location is ideal (right in downtown Cleveland, but not next to an obnoxiously busy/loud street). Cant give five stars because there are some small things I strongly dislike - youre required to use a certain internet provider, the windows are all sealed, etc. - but overall Id recommend the building.
The Leader Apartments are outstanding quality, and old world charm. The architecture and state of the building are great. They are local to a ton of amenities. Also, the staff (shout out to Pauline) have been great--responsive and knowledgeable.
Between the head of securitys audacity to get miracles done on a day to day basis, the maintenance departments timely, friendly, and efficient work ethic, and the management/leasing offices personality and moral obligation to make sure youre taken care of; loving at the Residences At Leader has been a phenomenal experience. Not to mention the convenience of it being located in the heart of downtown Cleveland and close to all sorts of bars clubs eateries and if you work downtown youre able to take a short stroll through Cleveland to get to work every morning!
If you are in the market for a “luxury” apartment in Cleveland, I would avoid the Residences at Leader and any K&D Property. Everything with the management is okay unless there is a problem. I cannot state how many times I was threatened with lawsuits or legal actions while following my lease. Don’t take anything from management at face value- get everything documented.Arbitrary fees for water leakage due to the poor renovation of the building, threats to charge for throwing garbage away in a manner not prescribed by management, and a very poorly remodeled unit are all par for the course here. The elevators hardly work and result in long waits all of the time. These slapstick apartments are not luxury or a good value; avoid and live elsewhere.I have lived in countless apartment complexes in different states and have never experienced a company like K&D. They require you to pay for their internet service (overpriced and unreliable) and overcharge you for utilities (their billing service at non-market rates, no choice at all). It embodies the worst of Cleveland businesses.With that said, Cid (head of security) and the head of maintenance are incredible people. Truly care about you as a person. The management lies without regard to the outcomes. I have one regret about my time in Cleveland, and that is my choice to live at Residences at Leader.
Have been living here for over a month and so far everything has been wonderful! Daniel, the assistant property manager, has been excellent as well. He answered all of our questions very quickly. He really helped make our move a lot easier and for that I am thankful. Cheers from The Leader!
The Leader is a great place to rent! The building retains a lot of its historical charm - original doors, marble hallways and a gorgeous lobby -but its also completely renovated. Cid and co. at the front desk are extremely helpful and create a more friendly atmosphere than your usual yuppie filing cabinet. The only real downside is a lack of adjacent parking.
This review is specific to Khristen - the leasing manager at Leader. I first met Khristen during her time at another K&D property (my current residence) and her customer service couldnt have been better. She was ultra-responsive, incredibly friendly, and took pride in her work. Im happy to report that in our latest encounter during a tour of Leader, she continued to display her trademark personable nature and steadfast commitment as she stayed past normal operating hours in order to accommodate my impromptu visit. Potential tenants should rest assured that with Khristen they will be in good hands in both locating the right home and ensuring their stay exceeds their expectations. A proficient and courteous leasing manager is worth her weight in gold - thanks for all your help Khristen!!
This is the first time Ive wanted to stay in a building for more than one year. Mark made transferring from one unit to another a breeze! When I realized the microwave in the new unit didnt work, Maurice (and crew) switched it out in quickly with no issues. Every person on staff is a delight to work with. I have no regrets behind making this my home.
I have been living here for 3 years now and is excellent. The suites are new and very spacious. The gym has everything you need and more. The staff is very nice and helpful. My apartment is what I will miss the most of Cleveland. I highly recommend it!
Residences at Leader is THE premier place to be! Located in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, this incredible property is conveniently located to everything you need AND want. My experience with them has been incredible; I am forever a RaL cheerleader. In March, my friend and I visited the property in search of a new home as she would be relocating in the summer. This was the very first place we shopped and knew earlier on it would be a top contender. Chris squeezed us in and we had a wonderful tour with the lovely Khrissy. She showed us all of the treasures here and did so in such an authentic and friendly manner. She connected with us immediately and made us feel very comfortable!The tour included updated everything, from the units to the amenities. All so lovely. We went home and immediately started work to secure a spot.Fast forward to when we started the process and again, the service was impeccable. Mark guided us every step of the way (through the application process) and helped us secure the perfect studio for my friend. He was patient and professional, answering all of our questions. Coordinating a life move from one state to another would usually be challenging; the team made it all so smooth. I want to especially thank them for their top tier service, which included allowing furniture to be delivered AND placed in the apt ahead of time-that’s service!As I mentioned, onboarding was amazing. We went down and set her up. We also saw Khrissy again-we had to thank her for being herself. She offered us more insight and truly welcomed us to the neighborhood. The experience was so impactful that I keep referring to “us” and I didn’t even move in-it was my friend! I could not have asked for a better place for my friend. She feels comfortable and right at home. That’s important.If you have the opportunity to secure lodging at the Residences, I would encourage you to do so. Not only will you get an unforgettable downtown living experience; you’ll get it all with a smile! Ive been a commercial tenant here for over a year and love it. The staff has always been friendly. One person in particular always goes above and beyond. His name is Cid, he help me create my google business page and boosted my business just to because he genuinely cares about everyone in the building! The leader is really a a landmark in Cleveland. Mark and his team are amazing at managing this property and getting the residents the quality of living they deserve :) Cleveland heights and all those other properties around the Cleveland area have diminshed their quality with many of the landlords taking advantage of college students and young professionals who have no say in their tenant laws. Honestly if I had a daughter or son and they were coming to school in Cleveland, I would rather have them living in downtown especially since they will be paying the same amount of money for a brand new renovated apartment in downtown area compared to the dilapitated apartments in Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights. Thank you Mark for your patience and honesty through out this apartment search :)

Very beautiful building, with upscale luxurious decore and sophisticated style. On the higher end of city living, this residency is beautifully equipped with staff that takes care of any residential needs. From their professionalism, to their presentation they are sure to provide excellent and quality care of all memebers of the buildings. Would recommend to anyone who can manage to get their foot in the door of this mostly pre-leased building!!
These are some of the best apartments in Cleveland. The view of the lake is spectacular and the apartments are a great blend of modern and historic. The staff is very friendly and front desk man Cid is great. Plus Guys pizza is on the first floor.

The Residences at Leader are stunning! They are gorgeous apartments with historical, rich, hallways and lobbies. The building also has a state of the art gym, locker room, and party room downstairs. It even has an all-healthy vending machine.
I have lived here for 6 months so far,The great:-Beautiful building, inside and out!-Well-designed floor plans (no wonky bedroom dimensions, awkward window placement, etc - everything fits together).-Great appliances.-Perfect and central location downtown for commuting on foot or public transit.-Barring the occasional morons on motorcycles, the street noise on the Superior side is minimal (primarily buses coming from the square).-Snip gigabit internet is the best.-Great customer service and support from the management offices.-Im on a first-name basis with security.-With the upcoming addition of Ohio City Burrito and an Italian restaurant to the building, I will struggle to leave the building during the winter!The meh:1) The walls sound absorption is fantastic. However, since the antique hallway doors have a 1-2 inch gap from the flooring and theres no carpet to absorb the sound - I can easily hear people walking down the hallway, my neighbors talking even if our doors are closed. That said, this can be easily fixed by door gap seals!2) One thing to consider if you commute via or rely on a car: parking while living at Leader (street or garage) is not as convenient as other developments. Itll cost around 210/mo for the nearest and high-end garages or 125/mo at the 1717 garage on e9th which is an additional 5 minute walk (doesnt sound like much but it adds up if the weather is really bad or if you have to make multiple trips to the car).Minor nitpicks but easily overlooked and I plan on living here for as long as I can!

New, well maintained building with modern spacious apartments and very nice gym and business center/study space. Location is very convenient but building is secluded enough to not get noise from foot traffic and nearby nightlife. Office and front door staff all very helpful. Enjoy living here!

Maurice and the Maintenance team have a quick turnaround to your work-order submissions. My Washer/Dryer went out and they acted quickly to get me a new one so that my laundry wasnt piling up. Thanks Maintenance!

Best decision I ever made was to live here. Very friendly doormen especially Sid who plays his guitar here and there. Maintenance requests are handled almost immediatel too. Definitely 5 stars!

Beautiful apartment building renovated to a high standard. Spacious units with attention to detail in a central location downtown. Close to restaurants, bars, entertainment, and grocery store. Great addition to the Cleveland downtown living scene.
Was emailing with this apartment complex for about a month leading up to coming to Cleveland to look at apartments. I scheduled a time to come look at the apartment, no one showed up and there was no one in the office. I also called/emailed multiple times and got no answer. I had heard of this happening at other K&D properties, but was so disappointed, especially since I literally havent heard from them since.
Daniel in the office has been a great help as I have settled in here at the Leader. The apartment is great and management has been quick to resolve any issues that have arisen.
I love my new apartment here. I feel safe, everything is clean and updated, 10/10 would recommend.

Today Maintenance Team helped me greatly !!!My cat Elton jumped behind the hot water tank and trapped himself :(I called Frank the security who then called Head Maintenance Maurice. Maurice and DeAundry went to work right away.. they cut a hole in the wall opening a way for my Elton to crawl I’m so happy he’s ok! Thanks Maintenance Team!!!
The property is located in a great part of downtown that easily allows you to explore the city. It also has nice amenities like the workout room.

Very nice apartments, newly renovated. the only issue is there’s no parking attached to the building and the close ones are expensive. Walking into the building from the garage in the winter is NOT fun.
Maurice (and the rest of team) provide very timely, and tenant-focused service. Glad to recognize them for GREAT work!

Christina has exceptional communication skills and is customer focused. I am so excited to be a resident at the Residences at Leader. The property was extremely clean and has a welcoming environment. After my tour of the property, I knew I felt like I could build a home at this property. This is a great location for anyone looking to live downtown. Highly recommend scheduling a tour!

2021-05-10We are so impressed with this place! GORGEOUS building with beautifully renovated apartments that are quiet. The office staff and security personnel are amazingly helpful and professional. We havent had any maintenance issues but other residents have told us they are prompt and thorough. The building is impeccably clean at all times. The amenities are good and you can walk to anything downtown. Our apartment has a spectacular view of the Lake and sunsets out of the huge windows. Seriously, I dont think it could get better in this rent price range!

2021-11-15Ive been beyond pleased with my move and living experience at the Residences at Leader. I hadnt planned to move this year and my search for apartments was stressful. But my initial communications with the leasing office were positive - the unit I was shown matched my needs and I was able to get all follow-up questions answered fast. I couldnt say the same about the offices I dealt with in comparable buildings. My move was convenient and hassle-free and the small touches (welcome letter and freebies) were appreciated! Security and maintenance are super friendly and management communication is efficient. My apartment size and amenities are unbeatable for the price. Its also a stunning, well maintained historic building in a convenient location downtown.

The rent may be a bit on the higher end in terms of Cleveland housing options, but let me say—the quality more than makes up for it. At first glance, the building is aesthetically beautiful. The exterior is gorgeous. The lobby is gorgeous. The elevators are gorgeous. The hallways are gorgeous. Each individual floor has their own elevator lobby. All units (to my knowledge) have an in-unit washer/dryer. I swear there are few buildings as beautiful as this one in Cleveland. The apartment unit themselves are beautifully renovated and spotless and updated with top-tier appliances. The windows comprise ~2/3rds of the walls, filling the unit with a flood of natural light (when Cleveland weather allows).The building is extremely, extremely well-managed. I had some maintenance issues (nothing too out-of-the-ordinary) and most were handled within 1-2 days. I never had any problems with paying rent or handling paperwork and such. Even if I did, the management team is on-site very frequently and not difficult to get a hold of. The security team is also very friendly and helpful and I never felt unsafe while in the building. The cleaning staff is also top-tier. Especially during the peak of the pandemic, I spent a lot of time in not only my unit, but also the gym and meeting space in the basement. These were always absolutely spotless.That being said, there were two glaring cons to my time here. (1) PARKING: Come in knowing that there is no parking on-site and that you will have to walk minimum 7ish minutes to get to your car that is in a parking garage that costs upwards of $150. This may not seem like much time, but this really adds on ~20 min to your commute everyday, (walking to and from the garage oftentimes in snow/rain, then walking up multiple floors to your car, then driving back down to ground floor). Yikes. I understand that its not feasible for Leader to build a parking structure in their building, but maybe a subsidized cost could be helpful here. (2) WIFI: I believe Leader has some sort of partnership with Snip internet, which is why I was recommended to them. I would avoid Snip if at all possible. Multiple times a day (seriously sometimes up to 20x/day), the internet would stop working for ~30 sec. In the 21st century, in a time when many people are working from home, this is a travesty. Avoid this provider if at all possible.Overall, I had an outstanding time living at Residences at Leader. The two major cons I noted arent directly within the power of the building, which is why I maintain this 5/5 rating. Especially considering this is where I ended up isolating during Mar-May 2020, I am glad to have called this home for three years. The management team is top-notch, the building and units here are spacious, modern, and clean. Love Leader and all who work there!

2021-06-29I havent been living here for very long. However I want to commend Jessica, the property manager. Her availability and capacity for being helpful are unlike any other property manager I have ever experienced. She answers emails almost immediately, she handles issues then and there, she is so sweet and does her job incredibly well. If I could give Jessica 50 stars I would. In regards to the building, it is beautiful, secure, clean, well lit, and the apartments are incredible. In addition, those who work at the security desk are super helpful and attentive. Highly recommend living here.

2021-08-04We were residents at Residences at Leader for four years. The management company (K&D) are great. Love the Maintenance Team. The building itself is an amazing historic property with huge windows. Quiet building. Secure. The K&D Management Team has always been responsive. Common areas well maintained and very clean. Loved loved the executive conference room for meetings. Great Gym. Relative to other downtown rents, the $$/sqr are reasonable. Nice finishings. Great central Downtown location. Access to E9th/Euclid to Playhouse Square to Public Square to the Warehouse District. Smack in the middle of all of it. Needed to leave Leader for some personal/family issues... Otherwise, wed still be there!

2021-08-18Awesome staff! I walked in off the street when looking for apartments and Christina showed me multiple units and helped me make the best decision! They have been very helpful with the move in process and with any issues Ive had. The spaces are great including the gym and the rec room.

2021-06-17Ive been here for 3 years and the current management and maintenance staff (especially Jessica and Maurice) is the best its been since Ive lived here! They are super responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Its been a great place to live and in a perfect location downtown -- just far away from the sports stadiums to be caught in the bad traffic, but close enough to walk wherever you need. Im sad to be leaving!

2020-06-16I called Residences at Leader home for three full years and cannot give enough praise. The units are beautifully renovated to give a historic building a modern twist. My unit was surprisingly spacious for a Studio and the price was unbeatable. The front office, especially general manager Mark and head of maintenance Maurice, were so attentive and helpful. I always felt safe living in this building downtown. Location is ideal for accessing downtown Clevelands best restaurants / stores / sporting events / fitness studios / etc. by foot. I have zero complaints from my 3 year residency - which speaks volumes to their level of excellence. Very grateful for The Residences at Leader - highly recommend!

2021-03-20Ive been leasing a Suite at Residences at Leader for over three years now. The professionalism of the management/maintenance team has been exceptional on every level. Their expeditious response and efficient resolution to the few issues Ive experienced merits not only acknowledgement but praise.Ive lived in a number of cities during my career in the music industry. The convenience and hassle- free comfort Ive experienced here is certainly noteworthy and highly recommended.
