Room was not available despite reservation and they moved us to another hotel with a downgraded room. Front desk was incredibly rude and actually asked us to “sleep on the couch in the lobby” when we asked for a comparable room or other solutions. Horrible customer service.
Beautiful new building BUT poorly managed with unclean hallways, a joke of an understocked breakfast, responses to requests delayed and unanswered, no clear supervision onsite, exterior windows uncleaned in quite some time... Have been in hospitality and property management for 30+ years and this place needs real management in order to charge these kinds of rates.
Everything was perfect. All staff in every position were so helpful, polite, and kind. The cleanliness was excellent and you could really tell they followed the COVID recommendations and more. Parking was very convenient and the cost was comparable to the Hotels in the area. We were there to attend appointments at Cleveland Clinic and the location could not have been more perfect! Close to our favorite area in which to eat: Little Italy! We will surely stay here again! The dining was very limited but that was due to COVID and they made an effort to provide an adequate breakfast.
This hotel was more than I’d hoped for, having to stay 2-1/2 weeks while my spouse had open-heart surgery. Extremely quiet! which was so helpful in dealing with my stressful situation. ALL of the employees/staff were amazing - helpful, positive, compassionate, caring. The cleaning crew were all so respectful; if you simply needed clean towels, they put them outside your door. They cleaned if and when it would be most helpful, never knocked if I had the “later please” sign out, they did only as much or little as I needed/asked for. The full kitchen was perfect for my long stay. I had my 2 small dogs with me, and there are ample places to walk them all around the hotel.I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel and the amazing people who work there. And, if you stay there because a loved one is at the Cleveland Clinic, it’s an 8 minute walk to the main campus building, and very well lit so night time walking back and forth felt safe.
This place was very nice. Great breakfast selection. They take the covid precautions very serious which is great being in such a big city. Only thing I wasnt used to was the parking situation, all vehicles must park in parking garage behing the hotel. But, also great location for downtown.
This hotel is in an excellent location with grocery stores, restaurants, and parks all in close proximity. Restaurants are within walking distance (the same block), and everything else is within a 5 - 10 minute drive. The staff was very helpful and accommodating for all of my needs. The hotel was clean for the most part, with plenty of sanitizer stations. My wife LOVED the fire pit outside!! It was perfect on the slightly chilly evening while sipping some wine and having good conversation!!On the guest floors, guests would sit garbage out to be picked up. This is normal, but for it to sit out for most of the day, showed that people werent doing rounds to clean them up. Also, some garbage cans by the elevators were overflowing and smelly. Maybe it was a rough weekend and they were trying to catch up?? Either way, thats not what Id expect for a Marriott facility. Using my points for my stay was a DEFINITE bonus for me, but the parking still has to be paid with CC on file. I didnt like having to pay for parking, but I can try and understand the reasoning with the limited spaces available.Even still, this has become one of my favorite places to stay when coming to Cleveland. Close enough to the water (within 15 mins), but still central enough to get to everything pretty easily.
The Residence Inn at the Cleveland Clinic is an outstanding place to stay when visiting the Cleveland Clinic or the city of Cleveland....A newer hotel...it is extremely clean, safe, and comfortable...with modern well apportioned rooms....The Staff is outstanding...They truly try to make your stay a memorable one. They are friendly, professional, and very knowledgable .....One of the Best staffs I have encountered. The hotel is close to many wonderful attractions in Cleveland, including the Art Museum, Severance Hall, Cleveland Orchestra , Natural History Museum and of course the Cleveland Clinic.Breakfast is included...and it is excellent... The rooms are spacious and clean... the work-out area is clean and well equipped...I have been a Lifetime Titanium Member for many years and spend over 100 nights each year in different properties...and this is an Excellent Property to stay in...This is a wonderful hotel to visit ! I would highly recommend it...
Good service Nice room, the kitchen area was super clean, as was the bedding area. The bathroom was completely clean except some mold growing in the bottom of the shower. The rest of the hotel appeared neat and clean, front desk service was quick and efficient. Parking in the lot behind the hotel was fine, $20.I would return to this hotel
Extended stay required for a family member undergoing tests at Cleveland clinic. We came from NJ, checked into one hotel Downtown and immediately checked out due to cleanliness and covid safety concerns. Experience at this property addressed those concerns and so much more. Staff was friendly, customer service oriented, and went out of their way to help. Property was clean, all staff were masked and self-serve breakfast provided a variety of grab and go options. Great location, shuttle to clinic right across the street at Rite Aid (although we used our car and the self-parking garage was super convenient) and several options immediately next store for pizza, subs, and cafe food. I have been a Marriott elite member for 30 years and think this property sets the standard for excellence for a Residence Inn and other categories due to their people. Special shout-out to Stephanie for all her help! In my travel experience, it’s so clear during Covid hotel employees are being asked to do more for us and we should make sure to say thank you for all they do. If we need to come back to the clinic this is where we will stay!!!!
My family stayed here as i was undergoing open heart surgery at cleveland clinic. Very convenient location, just a few blocks to the clinic. Breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Two eateries and attached to the hotel: Urban kitchen has phenomenal restaurant quality food, and penn station great subs. You wont be disappointed, but if you are speak up and the outstanding staff will accommodate you.
We booked our room for the weekend so we could attend a Browns game. The hotel has an updated and trendy style. The room was spacious with a complete kitchen, living room and 2 queen beds. The room was SUPER CLEAN!!!! The staff was extremely helpful and very kind. The fire pit was beautiful and the lobby was awesome. We will definitely return
My sister and I stayed here with 4 kids (6yr old and under). It was a great location and we went to the zoo and natural history museum. Both were very close and easy to get to from the hotel. The common areas, elevators and rooms were extremely clean. I had no concerns in these COVID times especially considering we had 4 children who were under the vaccination age. The suite was fully stocked with all kitchen items we needed. All the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. We got food from Urban Kitchen and it was delicious! Highly recommend. We had a miscommunication where our room was cleaned and all our food was thrown out prior to us checking out. The cleaning staff, front desk staff and manager were apologetic and took care of it immediately. I will definitely be coming back here.
The hotel was beautiful. My room was spacious and had all the amenities needed for a long stay. The desk people were very helpful. When I asked for directions to a certain Cleveland Clinic Bldg, I was told about the free clinic shuttle. The desk clerk just told me to let them know when I needed it. Drug store right across street. I walked the neighborhood and it seemed very safe.
Very clean, spacious room, looks brand new, well equipped kitchenette, everything worked. $20/day parking. Indoor pool was great as the water was warmer than a usual. Nice area as long as you don’t walk North. Only a few restaurants in the 15m walking distance.I guess due to COVID there was only grab-and-go breakfast (albeit a fairly good one for that) and the pool closes at 8pm, some of the staff wears their masks under their chin - these were frustrating. My door has been painted on the outside around 10pm, rather scary to wake up to…
The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were huge and felt very luxurious for a 3 star hotel, the hotel’s breakfast was very good. Like I said, the rooms were amazing with great beds, bathroom was very good and big, an amazing gym, pool, and their parking was HUGE with lots of space. This hotel was also booked out so make sure to book early. The location is very good too, and its surrounded by multiple universities so it’s a safe area, and also great food nearby. Overall, 5 star hotel and really unbelievable that this was a 3 star hotel, and whats shocking is that this was just a normal bedroom, can’t imagine what a suite would be like.
Its fine, near to the hospital, but it needs more care in the snow time, and when you request any help from the front desk make sure you might face kind of attitude from one of them 2 ladies there, so if you face that, switch to the other one, she is nice and helpful.
I love it. The room was spacious and clean just to my like. The pool had plenty of towels so I did not have to bring any plus the water was warm. I really enjoyed my self and was happy that the breakfast area was nice and enjoy the grab and go. Next time I remember to buy some groceries so I can cook on the stove in the room.
The suites are very large and comfortable. They even had the TV programmed with a personal greeting. When your child is sick and in the hospital finding lodging is a huge nuisance that must be dealt with. The reservation department worked to get the best price for us on account of our circumstances and it was a blessing. I stayed 4 places over 2 weeks and this was the nicest space overall. It was a shame we could only get 4 days in a row but it took the pressure of bouncing around off.
Breakfast was not up to marriott standards. Grab and go sandwiches and cereal was all they had. Staff refused to clean our room since we stayed under 6 days. Pool was always closed and a reservation was required. We were not told about the 20$ garage fee upon check in or at any time. Signs were not posted and I had absolutely no idea there was a parking fee. My wife left her medical pillow there and the staff claims they cant find it. It was a big memory foam pillow in a bright blue pillow case! Would definitely not recommend for family travel.
Everything was great, the lady at the desk was wonderful! Tall skinny lady short hair, very kind and serving. Young man that brought the supply’s to the room was so jovial and gracious and made a bad day much better. I wish I could remember their names but neurological issues doesn’t let me remember names. I wish I could thank them. To find them ask about homemade energy drinks. Lol. I have two major issues. When checking out the young man that gave me my bill was indignant. His attitude was unbearable. The excellent desk lady waved my parking fee because I’m a disabled veteran and live under the poverty level. It was very very kind of her. The young man became indignant and childish when I asked him about the parking fees on my bill. He told me she wasn’t suppose to wave that fee and he was going to, “tell on her.” I took the bill from his fingers and told him I would pay the fees for parking and I didn’t want her to get in trouble for being kind! He said it didn’t matter he was going to tell on her anyway. He was adamant about getting her in trouble. I’m sorry if she got in trouble, give me her punishment or let me pay the parking fee. On the other hand that young man that hung out her dirty laundry and became holier than thou tattle tale should be fired, he ruined not just my stay but all week since then. With the tall lady my stay was great until the other crew put a jumping running hyper kid over my head. The kid jumping off the bed so hard the changing area light would flicker. Being ill and having to be tested for migraines I didn’t need the earth shattering pounding from above. I’ve been saddened and depressed even up to today because I feel like I got a wonderful person in trouble! Tell her I’m sorry for the other guy not letting me pay the parking and getting you in trouble. I thank you for your kindness and great assistance and smile. You made a hard time in my life a bit easier to handle. To Marriott; thank you for your high standards in comfort and cleanliness. Thank you for a kitchenette to prepare my food. Thank you for comfy sheets and bedding so I can calm down from bad days. Thank you.
So most of the 5 star reviews mention a friendly staff, which I can agree with, the staff seemed very nice and welcoming, but that only gets you so far. That is the only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of 1.When we first checked in, they gave us a room somebody CLEARLY smoked a pack and a half of cigarettes in. While it isnt the hotels fault, their cleaning people SHOULD have went in to clean that room, smelled that, and cleaned it or told the front desk not to give anybody that room. The hallways were also messy, like they hadnt been cleaned in a few days at least. After switching rooms (which was a painless process), our next room smelled better... however the sheets clearly werent cleaned (hairs from the previous guest on the sheets), there was only one towel for the shower, there were two conditioners but no shampoo, and the shower was falling apart (literally, the knob was falling off the wall and the step in there was halfway fallen off). Yet there were dishwashing tablets in a room with no dishwasher for some strange reason. The breakfast was absolutely god awful. Inside the heater trays normally reserved for eggs and sausage was breakfast sandwiches they clearly just dumped in there (still had the Johnsonville wrappers on them). Id have been fine with this, but they tasted like they had been in those things for days, completely inedible. They ran out of coffee not halfway through breakfast time, and the bread choices they had were drier than the desert. Finally, we were charged an additional 20 dollars to park, which is not only an outrageously high parking fee, but it was not mentioned to us previously, even though they had no way of knowing if we ACTUALLY were parking there or not. We easily could have been dropped off, taken a taxi, etc.I would highly recommend you stay anywhere else.
Perfect 10! They hosted us and all of our wedding guest. People were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms, the views and the location. We all were able to enjoy the breakfast in the morning and chat a little more. I highly recommend this place for any couple wanting to find high end but affordable accommodations for their guests.
I had a very pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by very friendly and warm staff members. The place was very clean, people were wearing mask, food was good and it was quiet. It was within walking distance of University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic. My family and I had a very pleasant experience despite our somber reason for being in Cleveland. The staff recommended restaurants, which were great by the way. I will recommend my friends, family and colleagues stay at this location.
Once getting past the bums rush upon check-in from a rude front desk clerk, everything was fine with our stay. We elected to stay here due to an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic. For that purpose, this property is quite suitable. Room was clean and in a quiet location. Amenities were ok too, considering that certain food offerings were limited due to Covid practicesBut that check-in experience was in my top 10 worst ones. First off, I was told the property was a shelter in place hotel. There was never a real good explanation of what that meant, and it was hard to tell what I should expect of that. When I asked if I could park on the street to avoid $20+ per night of parking charges, I was told that youll get towed if you park at the curb anywhere close to the hotel. That turned out to be false, and numerous other guests were apparently dodging the parking garage without repercussions.Honestly, our stay was fine, I just wish the one front desk clerk we encountered would get a little more training on dealing with guests.
This place was amazing. It made you want to move in permanently. It had everything you could ever need. The kids loved the pool and my granddaughter loved that she could make toast and the wonderful ice maker in the fridge. The space was amazing and beds were so comfortable. I will definitely be back again.
This place is absolutely beautiful and very accommodating. The customer service from the whole team is what made my stay even more of a joy. The room was beautiful well kept and fresh. Notably, Disa at the front desk was who I communicated with the most and found her professionalism and personality to make my stay less of a hotel and more of a home. The location was not too far out from the city center. Little Italy was around the corner and worth the stay for the perfect middle ground. I worked during the week and had no problems with the internet.
This was the dirtiest room that I have ever checked into. At first glance you wouldn’t notice, but once I went to get in the shower I noticed how badly stained it was. It was terrible a washcloth would not do the job either. It needs to be scrubbed and deep cleaned. I refused to get in there with my bare feet. And the shower glass was smeared as if it hadn’t been cleaned at all. There were blood stains on the wall, and the carpet looked clean until I moved the chair and seen crumbs from the previous hotel guest. The housekeepers at this hotel must be very lazy. The hotel is very updated but the cleanliness or lack of cleanliness made for a terrible experience there.
The receptionist at the front desk was very nice. She upgraded her room with a nice walk in shower. Room was very clean. Staff was very friendly and they got us extra towels and blankets. The only disappointment was the continental breakfast. We expected atleast pancakes, and more vegetarian stuff. Overall all10/10
This was a great hotel experience. this was a much needed visit with my Daughter, a student at Case Western Reserve during this pandemic. Everything was exceptional. Covid restrictions limit the restaurant and dining situation, they did the best they could with pre-packaged complimentary breakfast. I was very impressed with the compliance and enforcement of the current covid mandates and felt very safe. Compliments to Ms. Laura Chmielewski and her team for excellence in customer service.
My stay was horrible! The room to me was dirty and it took them forever to find me another room that was supposed to be clean (it was dirty as well). Just ridiculous! The front desk person was helpful in trying to find me a room in the hotel but, the room she located wasn’t the cleanest. The shower in the bathroom was dirty, finger nails on the floor and some type of substance on the toilet handle. All though, the front desk person was helpful her coworkers were not. Unfortunately, she had to call the gentleman several times before he came to the front desk and even when he appeared he acted as if she was asking him to do something personal for her not do his job. So dissatisfied and disappointed that the hotel supposedly method/system used to rationalize how and why they didn’t have any available rooms
I had booked my room through hotels.com and paid through them. When I got to the hotel I used my debit card for parking and days later they charged my debit card the full amount for the room. Now I have over draft fees and more bills to be withdrawn which will be more overdraft fees. The hotel said 3-5 business days to get my refund. I get it was a mistake but I can NOT wait 5 days for a refund. I have other bills and kids to feed. The staff at the hotel were very nice. When I called about the charges I was not treated as kindly or offered any type of compensation
The room was great, spaced for comfort for extended stays. The desk, kitchen and bed area were designed very comfortably for function. The kitchen was perfect for cooking smaller meals. Beautifully decorated and very modern clean. Loved the closet organizer as well. Handicap features were designed very well in the bathroom. Excellent design of grab bars for toilet and shower. In shower seating installed as well. Indoor pool was very beneficial for exercise in the winter months and during Covid times. Outdoor fire pit and bbq were a nice addition however weren’t again le during our stay. Parking felt safe and accessible. Maintenance could have been a bit better. Reported a few broken things in the room but only some were repaired before our week long departure. Fire pit was broken as well.Day staff was always positive and very helpful. Evening staff not so much but still good. On location dining is not overpriced which is nice and they have a good variety.
We can not say enough about how prepared and gracious the staff was during our one night stay. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, guided on parking, and provided with customer service that exceeded expectations. The morning breakfast buffet also exceeded expectations not only in options but in confidence regarding hygiene related to the pandemic.
Overall, this is a solid property that has good COVID protocols in place. Room was clean and front desk service was good. However, it is not a typical Residence Inn set up so the rooms are smaller and there are only 8 one bedroom units in the entire hotel. Additionally, the hotel parking is a little tricky to figure out. So, call the front desk and they can tell you where to go.
Made a mistake and reserved a night short and didn’t realize it until after checkout time when they came to clean the room. Between housekeeping and the front desk we were able to be booked back into the same room. This particular hotel makes me feel welcome so much and we we go through the lobby they always call us by name.
Overall stay was excellent! Staff in lobby were so kind as we are going through a tough time right now. Our son just had emergency open heart surgery and was on life support at Cleveland UH. The staff have remembered us each time we have came and have been asking how our son is and truly cared about us! That speaks volumes! Hotel was very clean and very nice rooms with lots of amenities!
We stayed at this Residence Inn while in Cleveland to drop a child off to college. While the space in the room was good as usual and the staff at the front desk was friendly whenever we talked to them - it is clear that this hotel is understaffed. We were NEVER able to get the staff to answer a phone call to the front desk, resulting in a trip downstairs to request additional sheets and towels (sheets not delivered until nearly 11pm for the sofa bed - staff said they were waiting for them to be washed), and even had to request toilet paper because not enough was provided in the room. Also, there is no housekeeping service - even to remove trash which after several days really adds up. Finally the breakfast was all prepackaged and not at all appetizing - so if you are expecting to save money on that meal, keep your expectations REALLY low.
We booked a studio suite for two nights. Staff was very courteous during check-in and through out the stay. Room was spacious and looked new or updated. Plenty of lights and outlets with USB ports. Kitchen is well equipped with basic utensils. Dressing area outside the bathroom was very convenient for family to get ready. Breakfast was bagged due to COVID but you get to pick among 8-10 hot and cold options.
The hotel location and amenities were fine. We realize we couldnt have a conventional breakfast because of the pandemic. But the breakfast sandwiches were soggy and the coffee was really atrocious. We understood that the rooms would not be serviced everyday, so we asked for some extra towel to be sent to the room. They never came.
We enjoy our stay and always try to book here when in Cleveland. It is located very close to Case Western and Cleveland Clinic. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and we also enjoy the breakfast. Parking is easy and convenient. Highly recommend.
Very nice and well-designed Marriot property. Our only concern was that being Titanium members we were not able to upgrade (sold out). We also had a minor insect issue that occurred on the 2nd night. The hotel is in very close proximity to Case Western and 1/4 mile from our sons apartment.
As a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with Marriott and in their loyalty program for 40 years, I can honestly say that our three-night stay at the Residence Inn Cleveland University Circle/Medical Center has been one of the worst ever, with any hotel chain.Their staff has an incredibly poor attitude, blaming everything on their lack of ability to schedule/hire people. Clearly, they don’t want to pay people and this is the best you’re going to get.Their breakfast service consists of filling out a slip of paper and waiting 5-10 minutes for someone to deliver your request – even a simple cup of coffee. There is no room cleaning (get it – COVID), but requesting anything from the front desk (towels, soap, etc.) and odd are it will not show up. If it does, expect at least a two hour wait.We went down to their lounge on Saturday night for a drink and were told that the bartender went home sick…hence no lounge on Saturday night and no attempt to “figure it out.”The kicker was trying to laundry. We are here visiting our son, who is relocating to Cleveland and staying at this property for 30 days. The “Residence Inn” brand prides itself on being a transition property for long-term stays. A load of laundry/drying costs $4.50 total (not the issue) and all quarters (the issue). Upon approaching the front desk and requesting change, we got a high-pitched cackle from someone who I think is a manager saying they do not do quarters. After a drive of 4 miles and two stops we were able to do laundry.
Very friendly and professional staff members, all went above and beyond. Still not serving evening food, and breakfast is a subpar grab bag (all “due to Covid”). It’s time to move towards normalcy and bring back the pre-Covid food choices!!It’s also time to bring back room service. No in-room service at all yet.Nice laundry facility, but detergent prices are crazy high. Go across the street to Rite Aid for detergent.Good proximity to Cleveland Clinic (2 block 10 minute walk). For patients, the clinic’s shuttle service will pick up and drop off across the street in the Rite Aid parking lot, but they will not drop right in front of the hotel door. (I think it’s an intentional slight by the clinic for marketing agreement reasons, as they will bring you to the front door of all IHG hotels in the area). If you are going to the Clinic, be sure to ask for the Cleveland Clinic discount. I only found out about this by accident on the second day of our weeklong stay.
Very near to Cleveland clinic for my appointments. The CC shuttle is a cross the street and the reception will call the shuttle for you. Very polite and helpful staff. Very clean environment, their own parking garage with daily charge. Pool and gym, with a nice lounge on the reception floor.
Mediocre at best. First when we checked in the desk only had one person working there she was on the phone for a long period of time I felt bad for her since she had to look at us waiting for us to speak with her and was on the phone. She was very nice gave us her room keys sent us upstairs but did not remind us that we had breakfast included. Additionally we asked for extra towels twice since ours were soaking wet after the first use I don’t know if Marriott has changed their towels but these were very thin. Also we We’re told that the rooms are only cleaned up once a week because it is an extended stay hotel. Our garbage was overflowing by the second day due to the small garbage cans they provided in the bathroom and in the bedroom.
My average rating is due to this Marriott not having their own shuttle. You had to walk across the street to a Rite Aid parking lot to get one, which would not have been that big of a deal if the weather was good. I had to walk through sloppy snow conditions to get over there. Also, they did not have a restaurant open, and the bar was closed the two nights we were there. You had to leave the hotel for food, except for a bagged breakfast. The staff, however, was very helpful, and the room was very clean and quiet.
My overall stay at the Residence Inn Marriott was ok. It wouldve been better if COMMUNICATION was a factor! When guest are booking their hotel rooms either by phone or online make sure the person booking the reservation knows about the amount its going to cost to park inside the parking structure per night either on the website or through the representative making the reservation! In regards, to health concerns please let all guest know that the rooms have been sanitized and cleaned with a note for the hotel guest upon entering the room. Please take down all signs in elevator if currently not happening or not a feature of the hotel at the moment! Just keeping your hotel guest well-informed and updated is the wonderful part about COMMUNICATION!
Good place, nice breakfast service and happy hour. We had food delivered a couple of times by Ubereats and only once did we get a call telling us our food was at the front desk. Cleveland Clinic bus stops at Rite-Aid across the street, not at the hotel. Several convenient nearby places to get food.
The hotel location, including an adjacent secure parking garage with in-and-out privilege was very good. A bonus for those who may need it is availability of level 2 EV charging. Our room did not have a coffee pot or mugs to drink from. This was a disappointment. Otherwise a great hotel
The hotel had good customer service, parking and good location to the Cleveland Clinic. The room needs to be checked to make sure everything is in working order. There were dishes still in the dishwasher. Extra supplies should be delivered daily since cleaning will not be provided. No instructions provided in guest rooms on new COVID protocols
We stayed at Residence Inn due to appointments at Cleveland Clinic. The hotel is so close we enjoyed the ability to walk to the Main building. The day we had to be to the clinic at 5:30 a.m. (so didnt want to walk in the dark and cold) the front desk called the clinic shuttle and they picked us up directly across the street from hotel at the Rite Aide. The room was beautiful and was nice to have the extra amenities of the kitchen and living area. I would recommend this hotel to everyone that is headed to Cleveland.
Best check in experience I’ve ever had. We stay at Marriott properties often but have never received such kind and welcoming care. Desa went above and beyond to make sure all our needs and expectations were met. She personalized our stay and made it a point to check in on us every time we passed by with a friendly smile. All amenities were wonderful! We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in the area. Thank you for everything Desa!
Love to staying at this hotel. The staff were so very friendly and accommodating, I have literally never been to a hotel where every single staff member was as nice as they were at this hotel. They really make all the difference. The towel was very clean and they do allow dogs but I did not smell any dogs there which was great.
The room is only cleaned every 7 days. And I suspect the majority of people do not stay there for seven days. Since I was having a procedure done at Cleveland Clinic oh, I did not plan on leaving my room when I returned. I planned on ordering from Uber Eats or picking up a frozen dinner from downstairs at the hotel. There were hardly any frozen dinners at the hotel store. There were no plates in the kitchen, there was one glass, one mug and no flatware available in the kitchen. The ice maker was broken in the freezer compartment. I requested extra towels after coming back from a surgical procedure at Cleveland Clinic, but, none were provided. The usual free breakfast buffet was replaced with a grab-and-go bag for which they requested a tip. The breakfast sandwiches offered where oily and cold. The other offerings were cereal, coffee, milk and yogurt and granola bars. I begrudgingly left tips daily. You never had to leave a tip with a full hot breakfast buffet that Marriott usually serves. I understand that these are difficult times but this hotel should have tried a little harder to serve their guests. I will not stay there again.
Last-minute decision to stay near the Cleveland Clinic, we opted to stay at the Residence Inn. I cannot say enough good things about the accommodations and friendly staff. The property was very clean and well organized. The room was immaculate. We stayed in a suite with a refrigerator and kitchenette. It exceeded my expectations. The staff members, Stephanie, Disa, and CJ were exceptional in their customer service throughout our stay. There is a shuttle to the Cleveland Clinic. It was so convenient. There is also a free parking garage behind the hotel. We had several casual dining options within walking distance. Rite Aid is across the street. The suite had the basic kitchen dishes, pans, stovetop, apt size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and bistro set. We will definitely stay again.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Cleveland area, the location is second to none, the staff supports the facility and the people staying there like no other, and the management team is responsive to every request & not just the easy ones. The unit is less than 1 year old, the room layouts are awesome and supports many different types of stays, number of people, and personal preference. I am a long term stay - well over a year and I am so glad I chose this location and Marriott team to enjoy it with, they are truly a pleasure to great each and every day...SO STAY at the Residence Inn Cleveland University Circle / Medical Center!
My brother-in-law was having his prostate remove and wanted to be close to the hospital. Which means you get to hear sirens all night and day. It smelled like cigarette smoke on the 8th floor, Even though its a no smoking building, I think. The parking deck is not a very good one... The keycard reader does not work properly and you have to call for them to buzz you in.The entrace lights in our room did not work, so the counter with the coffee maker and the cupboard was in the dark. The air conditioner was very loud and we had to turn up the TV volume whenever it came on.And it never really got cool enough to sleep well.Maybe just got a bad room. But it was only for one night.Unless you just must be near the hospital I would look elsewhere.
I enjoyed my stay here very much. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It’s in a nice area walking distance to Case Western Reserve University, which is exactly what I was looking for. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again if I need to come back.
We are from out of town and stayed at this hotel when we took our daughter to appointments at the Cleveland Clinic. From the minute we walked in the door, we knew that we made a great choice. The employees at this hotel are absolutely amazing. Thank you to CJ and Disa at the front desk and Phil, the bartender/chef. They were very friendly, professional and accommodating and went over and above to make sure we had what we needed. The room was perfect. Everything was very clean and we felt safe during this challenging time with Covid. It was so nice to have a kitchen, which was stocked with utensils, dishes etc. We didn’t have housekeeping come into the room, however when we needed towels, we requested them and they brought them in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again.
Love this place. Go above and beyond for their customers. So polite. Breakfast aint anything to brag about, but with an amazing kitchen you can make what you want. Fridge stove dishwasher coffee pot is in room. Their t.v even has streaming just dont forget to log out. I loved the room. Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone
I had to visit the Cleveland Clinic for a test and the weather was going to be bad so I booked a two day stay rather than try to leave Cleveland during a winter storm. It was a nasty, foggy, snowy 5 hour drive to get there and I wasnt looking forward to the trip anyway so I was in a pretty bad mood when I stomped thru the snow to get from the garage to the hotel. The receptionist buzzed me in, and it was a complete shock to be greeted by a funny, efficient and friendly face. I stayed two nights. The room was perfect. Clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed, HVAC, and lots of seating. Even in the snow the view was spectacular. Everything in the kitchen was spotless and worked, the shower was comfortable, classy and easily accessible. I interacted with the front desk on several occasions and their attitude really made a go to Cleveland, walk on a treadmill, get poked and prodded trip into a two day vacation. I look forward to going back when the museums are open. If you are going to the clinic you have to walk about half a block to catch the Cleveland Clinic shuttle. The desk will call for you and set it up.
The hotel is great. Very convenient to the Cleveland Clinic. Our room was clean and modern. A full size refrigerator as well as a microwave and cooktop were very convenient. There is a major drugstore right across the street for last minute needs.Front desk staff were helpful and polite. The only problem was speed of service at the bar. The bartender was new and was provided with little help. She was trying but just did not know how to use the register. I blame the management for this as you cannot put someone in such a front facing position without proper training and support. Overall, I loved the hotel. Would recommend.
Upon arriving at this hotel room was not ready because the Cleaning staff walked out. The manager was accommodating and stated that she was working on cleaning the room but it won’t be ready until 10 PM. I appreciate her willingness to get the room ready. But this wasn’t her specialty. The room was subpar So I did a little cleaning myself with Clorox wipes. Additionally, From the time we checked in until 8:30 in the morning There were just upstairs making outrageous noisy. I reported this to the front desk three times and the noise got worse over time. Additionally they were nasty And rude to the front desk person. The person above us had 20 people in a room and rented the room out and work for Marriott hotel. This was absolutely unacceptable and they should’ve been escorted out by the police. This hotel needs a police officer they are on Saturdays. It is too much commotion and drama. Additionally they were children at the same time running up and down the hallway on the floor I was seeing. Finally, when I go the next day and headed out for work. I asked for my room to have a refresh when I came back at 10 pm There was no refresh and nothing has been cleaned. The housekeeping staff was not available or quit again. This was absolutely upsetting and should never happen. I was disappointed in the overall experience in the quality of hotel for the money I paid
Check in was wonderful. Used the mobile check in to request an early check-in. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating with my early arrival time. Rooms were very clean and modern with plenty of space.Breakfast was good to be complimentary. Staff came often to check and refill the breakfast items.Entering and exiting the parking garage was a little tight in a crew cab standard bed truck.Good location to The Cleveland Clinic. A short 10 minute walk.
This is a very new hotel. It had some staffing issues of not enough help.Rosalyn and Anton were wonderful. They couldnt have been nicer and helpful and very attentive.Had no housekeeping service my first full day there. They also had me leaving a day early and not sure why although they had no problem having me stay.I stopped at the bar my first nite there and wanted to get a bite to eat. The person there said they were short on staff and couldnt be bartender and cook in not a very warm way so I left the hotel and went elsewhere. The morning breakfast staff was very nice and helpful and food was good.Hope these issues will get better and would stay again if in Cleveland.
Staff are super friendly, courteous, and knowledgable. Even during this pandemic, they make you feel at ease. The pool was closed so my kids were disappointed but thats life in the time of Corona. The room is GINORMOUS. Plenty of room for our family of four to relax, and have our own space.
Good location for cleaveland clinic patients. Spacious room and the hotel is new. However major housekeeping issues. First two night we were told the housekeeper didn’t show up to work so our room wasn’t ready or cleaned on time. On the third night our room was cleaned poorly and towels left on the bed. (See pic below, this was right after cleaning, pillows weren’t even straightened) Cleaning gloves were left in the room twice. Not what you would expect from a Marriott.
Nice place, but needed extra bedding for a pull out couch, took 3 calls and over an hour wait before we got it, and it didnt include pillows. One bar of soap total for hand washing AND shower for 3 people. No blow dryer, shampoo or anything that hotels normally have, so went to a drug store to purchase because of being tired of slow service requests.
The hotel was new and the rooms were spacious. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. We were pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff was another issue. The person who checked us in was a trainee and she did not know the answers to our questions or even try to find out. The other staff member with her kept talking loudly to another employee about a guest. They were complaining about the guest right there for everyone to hear. We were not told of their breakfast or the shuttle service that runs to the Cleveland Clinic. They even knew that we were there for the Cleveland Clinic and advertise that they are close to the clinic. The hotel was nice, but the front desk staff needs more training or they need better staff. It really hurt our overall stay.
During the check-in process the helpful front desk associate learned that my husband had just been admitted to the Cleveland Clinic with an emergency heart condition. She immediately told me about the special rate for CC patient families. The hotel is only about 2 blocks from the Clinic campus so I was not only very close but also had a very affordable rate. I also appreciated the secure parking garage.
My wife had surgery at Cleveland Clinic and it was good to have a hotel nearby with a drugstore across the street and all the services at hand, including the transportation service offered by the Clinic. A Hotel with a kitchen is very helpful if youre staying for a long period so you can save money on food. Good value for Cleveland Clinic patients.
Desa was wonderful. She is very personable and kind, but also very real and genuine. She cares, and it comes through 100%The rooms are quite nice. There are some dusting issues that are common to overlook. I notice them bc I own a cleaning business. Otherwise, the room was very clean. The temperature was very nice. The TV, dishwasher, kitchenette are all very appreciated. The decor is minimal and very comfortable. Of course there is wear and tear, like the coffee maker seems to maybe be slightly broken, but functional. However, that is to be expected, and they seem to be on top of it.
Not only was the hotel beautiful, the staff was wonderful!!! The room was very clean and spacious! The staff from the moment I walked in were super friendly! I will be returning to this hotel! The bar area was such a nice option to have and they had a great food menu! I recommend the Blondie dessert - delicious! Overall, I would recommend this hotel when visiting Cleveland! Also it is so close to the Cleveland Clinic!
My stay was good with the exception of Friday, November 22nd, when the housekeeper took my tip and failed to satisfactorily clean my room. She emptied the trash and removed/replaced the dirty towels. She did not make my bed or clean the floor, which infuriated me. I have family in Cleveland - I choose to stay in a hotel when I am visiting because cleanliness is a priority. I so enjoy returning to a clean room - I was robbed of that experience. The fact the she took my tip and did not properly service my room added insult to injury. Upon return that evening, I immediately reported the incident to the front desk who advised he would notify the housekeeping manager who would follow up with me. The incident occurred greater than a week ago and I have not heard from the hotel. The incident occurred and no follow up. This reflects poorly on the staff and the leadership team and most importantly the Marriott Brand. I am a loyal consumer; I deserve better service and when you fail as we all fail - follow up.
This was an 11 night business stay with a late arrival and a morning departure.. Our room was on the 5th floor, a short walk from the elevator and very quiet during the night. We found the accommodations to be clean, attractive in appearance and well equipped. We were treated very well by all of the staff and this made our stay all the more enjoyable.
My party and I were put out of this hotel for talking in our room. We were not loud,we had no loud music and we were put out. They states they had patients they needed to sleep. There were 4 ladies in the room and again we were not loud at all! The manager CJ was very rude and not transparent about the situation. I will NEVER visit this hotel again. If you cant even talk in your own room.
I highly recommend this location for the convenience to getting to Cleveland Clinic. However, the friendly staff really separates this Marriott apart from many others that I have visited. There is just something special about staying here - maybe it is the fact that they have a sense of calming your stress before going to the Clinic.
This hotel was above anything that I was expecting. Staff was prompt with check in, super friendly and let us know all the details of parking, breakfast and pool hours. The breakfast was incredible as well as clean. Many options to eat and the lounge bar area was so cozy and quaint. Rooms were so clean and well laid out.
Overall, the service was great. Especially the front desk people. She answered my questions and assisted in finding solutions for my needs. This is appreciated.Other than a loud sound coming from the HVAC system when the temperature was turn on; This soon cleared up. The room was very nice.Thx,Tom C.
I will never return booked through expedia and get there just to have pay a mystery deposit per room. Only was there a few hours and was told to leave. The situation got hectic which it didnt have to. I paid for 2 rooms for 1 night and cant get my deposit back because I supposedly violated company policy. But I dont have a receipt saying in detail where my deposit went to. I checked out around between 9 and 10pm but yet I get a email saying I left at 833am. But according to company policy and even when renting an apartment or house a deposit only goes to significant damages.
Friendly, efficient, clean, safe, & also pet friendly. Perfect location to stay for appointments at Cleveland Clinic. If you have not been to the clinic before be sure to print out an online map of the campus. Be aware of all of the skywalks connecting the buildings for efficient and easy walking between appointments.
The first check in was fine. Room was clean. But then when we asked for something from the front desk we never received our request and 7 hours later we had to go get it? We also called the front desk 10 times with no answer. Honestly just go to another hotel. This one isn’t worth the money! Wish we would have chosen another hotel!
I was welcomed and helped by a very friendly front desk supervisor named DeJane M. She made sure I felt familiar with all that was being offered at the Residence Inn. She was thorough with her explanation of the facility. I felt comfortable with her welcoming and will stay there again in the near future.
I really am impressed by the staff here. Even during these strange times, I have never stayed at a hotel where I have felt more welcome. They upgraded our room when we got here, which we didn’t ask for. At one point it was pouring down rain and a staff member ran to their car to get an umbrella, which I didn’t even ask for. I really couldn’t be more impressed with the staff ability to go above an beyond to serve their guests. I will only stay here going forward when I am in town.
Hotel was great, shuttle service needs some work. No shuttle driver for afternoon on second day. Parking is expensive 20.00$ per day so two vehicles 40$ per day. Breakfast was wonderful we stayed 5 nights ate the breakfast two days in a row, the chef or fellow setting up the meal was wonderful. Staff were all nice. Ron from the van shuttle service took us over and back to the hospital and was very good on the third day of out stay.
We checked in late at night during their first week of being open. The concierge on duty was very friendly and determined to make sure our stay was a good one. The breakfast served was delicious. The staff monitoring breakfast were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay there again!
I highly recommend this hotel! Residence Inns are my preferred hotel, so I knew I would already enjoy my stay. From check-in to check-out everything was top notch. My room was HUGE and the bed was soooo comfortable. The staff was great and very friendly, we even got a chance to meet the General Manager, who was so nice! The hotel is set in a nice walkable area with a bunch of shops and stores nearby, and if you arent able to walk theres a shuttle! Great hotel I will be back!
From the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out the staff could not have been more helpful and kind. Had appointments at the clinic and having a room to go to that felt like home definitely made the trip and experience a little more relaxing for my parents and I.
When I checked into this hotel I found that the room was barely cleaned at all. The beds were made but the floors were sticky, the dishes in the kitchen were filthy, there was a giant hairball in the toilet (and the seat was up) and small pubic hairs were all over the bathtub and in the drawers. Long blacks hairs were pretty much in every crevice you could find. Even the folded clean towels had long black hair on them.In the morning I woke up to find water flowing from the ceiling of the bathroom. It appears that the shower or toilet of the unit above leaks into this hotel room. From the ceiling damage it looks like it has been going on since they opened the hotel and nobody bothered to fix it.The front desk assured me they would do a deep clean of my room and repair the ceiling. I got back in the evening and found that only the bed had been made. All the gross hairs were still in their places. The ceiling was untouched. I had to go back downstairs and they realized then that they should move to a room that did not have a leak.My new room had very similar cleanliness issues, indicating this is how most of the hotel is run not a one-off incident. The next day my room was missed for the daily tidy-up.All together it is clear that the management is struggling with their new hotel.
I have travelled extensively over the last 30 years of my life and I can confidently say that there havent been many occasions where my experience was perfect. The staff started to help my family even before we arrived to the Hotel. They received a very intricate food delivery that required both refrigeration and to be kept warm. They not only received the delivery but it was placed in the room and made sure it was stored properly. As we were driving to Cleveland, they extended our checking in time due to the traffic. They were always attentive to my son who is autistic and sometime runs around may cause issues. The rooms are above and beyond expectations as you will have the comfort of home at your finger tips.I would highly recommend Residence Inn to anyone looking for great relaxation and comfort.
First let’s start and say I’m a loyal customer. The hotel it’s self is a nice hotel, but some of the employees ( management ) to be specific, is rude, disrespectful and has very bad customer service. I had an issue with the same manager my last two visits. The first time I pulled her to the side and talked to her. The second time I had to go to the general manager, which didn’t care obviously because she hasn’t returned my calls like she said she would . I would NOT recommend residence inn University circle to no one !!!
The appearance and comfort of the guest rooms were great! The staff was friendly and helpful and made it easy to check-in and check-out. This is the kind of hotel you can book for your family members who have never seen Cleveland in order to impress them immediately. Thanks Marriott!
This place is a sad combination of some great parts and then parts that more than ruin it.The good:1. Wonderful staff - friendly, helpful, cheerful - it was a refreshing experience, certainly above expectations. From the cleaning lady to front desk to everyone.2. Measured, contemporary, pleasing design and decor. Feels new. Pleasant experience and compared to other Resident Inns, looks like in top shape (until it isnt, see later).3. The many power outlets, each with USB is a great addition. The bad:1. When I arrived the first day I had difficulty getting in. Unfortunately the buzzer isnt obviously visible.2. The PVC flooring at the entrance is cheepish and ruins the impression of the rest of the amenities and quality of outfits. It sticks and gives the impression of some low quality motel in a poor country as you walk in. Tile or hard wood or just a higher quality PVC would do wonders.3. The photo shows the power outlet on the desk that doesnt work! This is a fatal flaw. It excludes making any use of the desk. If I charge my laptop and work on the desk, it wont stay charged for my travel. But I cant conveniently work on my laptop in any other way besides the desk. So I just couldnt work at all. I called, but I was told that the technician left early. Nothing to do. This is 90% the reason for my rating of 2 stars. Without this issue, I would have rated 4 stars.
This is a new hotel with a good location but pricey for what you get. Supposed to have microwave in kitchenette but our room did not. I realize we are in the middle of a pandemic but most all the restaurants are operating and they have shut down their bar and snack area. Note that there are no rate reductions for reduced amenities. The biggest issue I had was the $20.00 per day parking that they never tell you about or mention during reservation or check-in. It just shows up on your bill. Your substitute for breakfast is an apple, orange and a granola bar. I expect more from a Marriott.
This is a new hotel. Large bathroom, well appointed, small fridge, kitchenette. The room with the king sized bed was small and crowded, and I found the bed adequate but not great (too soft for me). We had been quoted one rate but had to pay $30 more for reasons the manager could not explain well. We are at the bar/restaurant for a light dinner and the service was great but the food was awful. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold options.
Everything was perfect. I would stay at this hotel again hands down! Loved it! Brand new everything and staff was extremely friendly, breakfast was wonderful, pool was heated. Best hotel I ever stayed at. I wish all hotels were this perfect! The bathrooms were nice walk in showers. Tv had YouTube for kids.
My husband And I stayed at this pleasant hotel this past weekend for our anniversary and it was AMAAAZING! The room met all of our expectations. Bed was very comfortable The lobby was super cozy and laid back. The ongoing fire pit outside was nice and gave off warm relaxing vibes. The front desk lady Laura was sweet and always had on a bomb pair of earrings and necklace ☺️. Breakfast was EVERYTHING and some...... that veggie crumble 🙌🏾 Yes, my fav. We will be staying again next Month and I can’t wait!!!
I was very pleased with the location of the hotel. It is almost on the campus of the Cleveland Clinic. 5 minutes from any appointment you might have at the Clinic. The breakfast was fresh and had a nice selection to choose from. It was open promptly at 6:30 am, giving us time for breakfast and still plenty of time for a very early appointment at the Clinic. The bar menu had enough selection to keep you in the hotel instead of driving around at night in East Cleveland. The room was laid out for convenience and comfort. The Inn is so new they did not have channel guides for their TV. The book usually found in a room in a hotel as a guide to hotel services, was on display in the menu on the TV. I like the dark brown motif of the room and the Inn overall. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
The kitchen was closed to the guest extremely early.... Please dont give me the Pandemic excuse because I get that. Either its open or not. Apparently the chef or cook didnt feel well so he closed early. Breakfast was horrible.... the cold microwaved sandwich was free and it taste like it. Id rather pay and microwave it myself.
Beautiful new hotel ideally located just outside of Downtown Cleveland and directly across the street from the wood renown Cleveland Clinic medical campus. The room was huge and equipped with a full kitchen and living area - almost like an apartment. More than we needed for 1 night stay, but very nice indeed. This hotel has a very modern and minimalistic features that make it an ideal room for short or long stays.
We stayed once before in a king studio. This time the studio was smaller and next to a room with a barking dog. Make sure you request not to be put next to a dog and make sure you get the room as pictured on the hotel web site. As a gold member I think we were downgraded not upgraded. The bar area was nice to have and the bartender was super friendly.
The whole stay was a great experience. HOWEVER, I was charged 40$ extra by this hotel for 2-days parking. What the world????? Nobody notified me about this parking fee when I checked in. I checked in, and parked my car in the garage. The room was fabulous. Then I checked out and found out I was charged 40$ for parking. Excuse me? I would have chosen other hotels if I have knew this truth before checking in. Thats why I am writing this review to make everybody aware of it when you make your reservations.
This hotel just opened Tuesday 6/4/19. My husband and I had the honor of being the first guest to stay in Room 329. We were greeted by a overnight staff member named Melvin. He was so helpful, a joy to speak with and he suggested great sightseeing opportunities. We also met the Operations Manager Albeibe she was so nice and welcoming. I hope they keep up the the great hospitality and are successful!
We were really excited to stay at a brand new hotel. Overall it seemed like a nice property for the price, but it clearly has a lot of kinks to work out before I could ever recommend it to anyone. On July 20, we arrived at about 4:30 pm (check-in is at 3 pm) and were told our room was not ready. From the look of the lobby, it appears other were in the same boat. Checked back at 5, not ready, checked at 5:30, not ready. I asked front desk if they wanted my cell # to alert me and they said thats a great idea! Checked back at 6, still not ready. At this point, kids were hungry (daughter has Crohns disease and needs to eat on a schedule), so husband gets luggage cart on his own so that we could check our luggage and leave to eat. After he loads up cart, at about 6:15 they say our room is ready. We go up to find that it is not the room we reserved & paid for (they gave us a studio instead up a 1 Br suite. So we go back down and wait another 20-25 minutes while they find the correct room. We take our luggage up to the new room and leave to eat dinner. When we return later, we find there are no sheets/blanket for sofa bed and only 1 pillow. Called front desk at 10:30 pm but after 50 minutes still nothing (and no one answering front desk or housekeeping calls). Finally left room and met an employee carrying sheets/blanket. No pillow but he retrieved one right away. Got back to room and found we had 2 fitted sheets. Made the bed anyway and we made do. Overall, we were given a room that wasnt quite ready for occupation. Paint marks in the bathtub, no liner in waste can, toilet paper holder was broken, and no hair dryer in the room. For what we paid I expected a bit more. The staff was friendly but it was obvious they were understaffed and a bit overwhelmed. The breakfast the next morning was nice. In conclusion, these issues need to be worked out before I could recommend this hotel. It has potential to be a good property.
I selected and paid for my room 2 weeks prior to going and on their actual website (not a 3rd party site). When we arrived, I was told there weren’t anymore available and we were switched rooms. We had 6 people (in a 6 person room) and only towels/washcloths for 2. And then ZERO bedding for the pullout couch.
I stayed at the hotel for 1 night in Sep. I was on a business trip. I was given a dirty room 3 times and finally they found a clean room after wasting 30 min of time. It was lat in the evening and I was tired. Next day receptionist apologized an promised to credit my Marriott rewards account extra points for my trouble but that never happened ! The stay was supposed to be charged to a master credit card but instead was charged to my credit card. After contacting the travel agency twice the hotel issued a partial refund only. I stayed in Marriott hotels all over the US and Europe and this by far was the worst experience ever. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone
A great location if you want to be near the Cleveland Clinic., There is a shuttle you can take to the Clinic. The small bar food menu has great food and a surprisingly well stocked bar. The staff is courteous but often weak on details about the shuttle and surrounding area. Our only problem is we have found the atmosphere to often be loud and boisterous and at night, even late night, children run and road unsupervised.
Nice hotel great employees. Only issue I would raise is they state having breakfast eggs sausage etc. This is the second day in a row they have not had a hot breakfast. I saw other post about being short staffed but those reviews were from five months ago. You think they would have had this issue resolved by now.
The staff and property are fantastic. One of the best in Residence Inn’s collection. However, the bar need a few higher end liquors and MANY more dinner options. Especially for Gluten Free or medically restricted diets. Being so close to CC, many patrons can’t go out for dinner and need in room/on site food service; not junk food proper healthy food
We stayed at this Residence Inn in December and January. The facility is new, clean, and very well laid out (salt water pool - check it out). The services they provide (transportation to clinic, breakfast, etc) and flexibility are above and beyond. Staff is caring and helpful. I dont think you can do better. Parking is easy and the location is very convenient to the hospital (minutes) and local restaurants.
If you like dirty sheets, gritty floors, and scummy showers, then this place is for you! In 3 months I have had my bed linens changed only 4 times and shower cleaned not once. This is even after asking multiple times a week. There is no follow up with staff.Other than the poor housekeeping my experience has been pleasant!
Although this is a newer hotel, I would highly recommend that Marriott patrons stay elsewhere. This place is operated more like a Motel 6. Staff are rude, housekeeping does a poor job, and services are not as marketed. The bathroom in my “suite” was disgusting and repeated requests for towels, a toothbrush, and dish soap were ignored by staff. Spend your money elsewhere if you are looking for an upscale experience.
We had a weekend stay at this hotel, and we could not have been happier with the beautiful, modern suite! Every amenity you could ask for away from home was there for us and was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. It was less than a half-mile walk to several great museums, and a block to a delicious Egyptian-American restaurant. Well be back the next time were in Cleveland!
Beautiful new hotel, located conveniently next to Cleveland Clinic. Easy to check in and the staff was friendly. The rooms were very nice in size and style. Great options for the free breakfast too. Overall definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting in the Cleveland Clinic/University area.
Our stay was wonderful after traveling from Texas we were exhausted .The staff was excellent the room was great. Having two kids it had all the comforts. The kitchen was stocked with pot pans everything that I needed . We didn’t get a chance to use the fitness room or pool but we will when we comeback back.Them breakfast was very good and convenient.
This is a wonderful hotel, full of great people. Despite our fears about Covid 19, they reassured us immediately. Limiting the number of people in the lobby, providing hot breakfast to eat in our room, wiping everything down numerous times to kill germs, asking us if we needed anything. Wow! I will return here every time we need to come to Cleveland Clinic.
I was charged twice for a room. There was an issue where some how my roomwas canceled and then rescheduled immediately after. Nothing changed was just wanting a different room and a later check in date and was unable to change it through the app.I approached the hotel During my stay after realizing the second charge. I was told to wait until after I checked out to see if the charge would drop off. After the second charge cleared, I then contacted the hotel again and of course they were not the least bit helpful. At first I was told to contact my bank. I argued that my bank is only going to do something if they believe the chargewas not legal. Obviously doesn’t apply here. Then I was told I was charged because I canceled a room there on a night I had never scheduled. I sent the manager both reservations and the times. I was then told because I canceled one I was charged despite the fact I immediately reserved the room again. Never offered any resolution
My husband and I travel extensively for business and personal reasons. My husband travels 47 out of 52 weeks a year staying in Marriott or Sheraton properties. This Residence Inn was a pleasant surprise its location ,cleanliness, staff and service was better than many of the Marriott full-service hotels! we were there because my sister was having open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic. 15 years ago we were there at Cleveland Clinic and didnt have such a nice facility to stay in. I was excited to inform my in-laws, who travelled from Rhode island to the Clinic for heart surgery then, of the overall positive change to the area.
As I mentioned in the hotel was very nice (as it should be for how new it is) but the parking is a joke. $20/day per car is about ridiculous. The staff was also mediocre. They checked us into a king suite instead of the 2 queen bed and sofa couch suite. While checking in, the computer defaulted and said I earned a $20 room rate 3 or 4 times and everytime the employee said she cant do that and overrided it. They also messed up my billing. They charged both nights to my poi9nts instead of one night with points, and another with cash.
Loved staying at this hotel! Everything was within walking distance, and running too! I ran all over Case Western Reserve, the Heights and then some. Close to the Cleveland Severance Hall - home of the Cleveland Symphony, museums and parks. Very clean, courteous staff and great breakfast. Having a kitchenette, Fitness center and pool was a bonus! Highly recommend!
My stay this time around was a different feel. I like that it is close to CWRU campus but I didnt get what I expected. I dont believe many are traveling at this time, and being a Platinum member I did not expect to be nickle and dimed all over the place from parking to snacks.
I would advise anyone from staying here. The property is poorly run. I stayed here for a week and in that time, a fight broke out on my floor in the middle of the night by people who were not staying at the hotel and the police had to be called. A fire extinguisher was used to try and break up the fight and the contents were not properly cleaned after multiple days. The fire alarm also went off multiple times on multiple nights in the middle of the night. Seriously, do yourself a favor and look to stay else where.
My only complaint was the person who stayed the floor above me sounded like he was running a half marathon from 1:30am until 3:30am for four nights, then I had no one for about four days then another person was in the room, not sure if the floors are that thin but that sometimes made it hard to sleep but the beds and pillows were VERY COMFORTABLE!!!

2022-04-04Wanted to take time to point out how great our stay was this last weekend at Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland University Circle/Medical Center. When it comes running a hospitality business it is all about the people. They are what make the experience and the staff at this location are outstanding. Even though I knew they were shorthanded you would never tell by their hustle. It was a perfect weekend with the staff making sure we had everything we needed. I especially want to call out a couple ladies at the front desk April and Jennifer. Also a BIG GREAT JOB to our housekeeping staff Dominique for being on the top of her game. The property itself is clean and modern and perfectly located in the heart of Cleveland Medical and Case University district.

2022-04-12As someone who has been traveling to Cleveland to visit the clinic for over a decade now, I can say hands down this is the best place to stay when you are in town. It is incredibly convenient to walk to the clinic, then when you have a break, head back to your room for a break. From the front desk who helped book the Cleveland clinic room rate with ease, to the bar tender who helps you forget your problems of the day - you feel like you are headed home when you are away from home. There are quite a few great restaurants within walking distance so again, you dont need to drive anywhere. The rooms were so clean, I literally could not find 1 issue with them. Plenty of channels and great space to get some work done or relax in comfort. Thank you to everyone here to making patients feel like a relaxing getaway trip.

2022-03-31We stayed at this hotel for a few days starting on 03/25/22. We splurged on a vacation in Ohio (5 hour drive) from where we live to specifically stay at this hotel as it was local to the zoo and aquarium we wanted to visit and also because it had a POOL... we have a younger child who was really looking forward to using it as were we considering its winter. I called a few days ahead to indeed make sure it was up and running and they told me it was. I saw past recent reviews complaining about the pool... We get there and it was up and running...but were told the water was very cold because the heater was broken. We tried to go in and it was like opening a pool after the Winter... impossible to swim in! I would have not booked this hotel if we were told about this! I can say the rooms were very home like and probably one of my favorites Ive ever stayed in. The garbage however was full from the last occupants who stayed in the room under the kitchen sink... The beds and sheets were extremely clean which I greatly appreciated! The cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom not so much... I dont think the bathroom floor has been cleaned in a looooonngg time. The staff however was extremely friendly and truly cared about their guests.

2022-02-17Loved the room size and proximity to Cleveland Clinic but overall cleanliness had a lot to be desired. I was there a few days and the hallways were a mess & were never vacuumed during my stay. I had to unload the dishwasher upon entering room. When out of town the last thing I want to do is have to empty someone elses dishes! Had TV issues too so had to move rooms only to find another dishwasher I had to empty ;) I really liked the room though offering full kitchen, desk, couch. great for extended staying

2022-07-08I dont usually leave reviews but must do so for this place. THE GOOD: Room size and layout was fine. Nice having a separate bedroom from kids sleeping in living room. THE BAD: The entrances to this hotel, whether its near the check-in desk or the back coming from the parking garage, have a gross body odor smell in between the outer and inner doors. As for our room (1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King, Sofa bed), despite specifying 4 guests, there were only two sets of towels. I tried calling the front desk to request two more sets for our kids so we all had a clean towel. Phone in room didnt work and apparently no phones in the building were because the front desk couldnt even receive our cell phone call. Had to go back down to front desk. Girl working there seemed very frustrated about phones and computer system. Said it could be a while before towels were brought up but someone would bring them. Our young boys had to go to sleep so I went back down to the front desk an hour later asking them to just leave the towels outside our door rather than knocking late at night and waking up our kids. The towels never even arrived that night. Phones still didnt work in the morning so I had to ask for towels again at front desk and finally got some. Inside the room, the kitchen faucet was extremely loose and felt like it would come right off. Seemed like it was only attached to the water line, not the counter. The bathroom cabinet door almost fell off when my wife tried opening it once. We didnt touch it again. Our king mattress in the bedroom had a big dip in it and neither of us slept well. Breakfast choices were very unfriendly for anyone on an elimination diet which seems odd next to Cleveland Clinic. There were not single ingredient choices like eggs or bacon or sausage, rather combination options like breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, or quiche. I had to stick with snacks I myself brought to the hotel. This hotel gouges its guests by charging $3 plus tax for a bottle of water. Cherry on top of it all is finding a $20 extra charge for the parking garage on top of the $284 we already paid for this regrettable one-night stay. The experience we had at Residence Inn Cleveland University Circle/Medical Center does not justify the price we paid. I regret not speaking up about all of this during the checkout process. We felt ripped off but were short on time in the morning and preferred to just get on with our busy day.

2022-05-18Great hotel, awesome and helpful staff, fantastic location and great rooms for extended stay. This my first time traveling for work in a long time and I will only choose Residence Inn going forward. If youre an extrovert and you like the energy of the city and an active lobby, this is your place.

2022-06-11Very ghetto staff… the front desk staff acts as if they’re doing you a favor by assisting you. The receptionist sat in a room adjacent to the front desk and asked what I needed never got up from her seat to assist me at the podium finally another person came from a back room to assist me with checking in….I was told the incidentals were a 20.00 hold…50.00 was charged twice to my card…the shower door in my room was off track so obviously water was all over the bathroom floor..bad lighting or bad bulb in kitchen area kept blinking until it finally shut off..horrid musty smell in the lobby area..this hotel has great potential but staffing is terrible

2022-03-03Very happy with service and staff here! They took very good care of us while I had surgery at Cleveland Clinic. The shuttle service is a bonus. Didnt have to worry about parking at hospital.

2022-05-07I’ve stayed here a couple times prior however this time it sounded like they were doing construction above our room. Extremely noisy compared to usual. It was difficult to sleep with all the noise continuing to happen at 11pm. In addition, we only had one towel instead of two. When asked for more it took a while (few hours) to receive them. And they came twice with towels and sheets. We didnt ask for sheets just towels.

2022-06-02Probably the worst Marriott we have ever used. When I drove up to the front door to check in the door was locked and only entry was with a buzzer that the front desk would answer. There was no one at the fron t desk. Finally, a guest who was sitting there came and opened the door for me. I waited around the front desk for several minutes before spying someone with a badge down the hall. I called out and she came and found someone to help me.Our room was definitely the smallest hotel room we have been in in years. I thought this was a Suite? yes, had a sink etc. but 1 chair for sitting and when using the desk the other guest cant get to the other side of the room!!! What misery. The King bed was mush. I sank down in it and all night I could feel every twitch and turn of my husband...more misery. We were in Cleveland for appointments at the Clinic for my back pain. The stay at the Marriott certainly wasnt helpful in that regard.
