During a traumatic time, due to a death in the family, we needed a location to celebrate a life lost. We selected this location due to the proximity to the hall. We worked with Joyce to secure a group rate. She was wonderful and very professional. She offered her sympathies, was very responsive to voice-mails and calls and provided detailed instructions that were easy to follow. Everything was great except multiple guests had not so great interactions with Debbie on check in day. She was noted to be somewhat rude. She watched someone in a wheelchair struggle and go the wrong way when trying to locate the elevator and never said they were going the wrong way. Phone conversations were not any better. We waited until the next shift to call with any questions or requests. She is the reason for the 4, otherwise it would be a 5.
The Mentor Marriott was the perfect location to come back home for a visit with family and friends. But it turned out to be a great experience. It is very pet friendly, comfortable and spacious. We had planned on staying 10 days but had to cut the trip short to 7 days. I booked the room with a third party on line which stated no refunds for early departure. I didnβt ask the manager for a refund but she went above and beyond and made a call and got our money back for us. Thank you Cindy!
I always stay at this hotel when traveling to and from the East Coast as it is at about the halfway point. The hotel is comfortable and clean and in a convenient location. It accommodates larger pets, which I travel with. The front desk attendant was very helpful in putting me in a room where there wouldnt be too much outside noise that could cause my dog to bark. Although the hotel was remodeled several years ago (I stayed there when it was newly remodeled and before) it still feels updated and fresh. Food service is limited now because of COVID but still a decent selection of breakfast options.
We recently traveled to Cleveland for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and then we were heading to Columbus Zoo. We were only suppose to be there one night and landed there under some unusual circumstances but we loved our room, location, and staff and continued to extend our stay one more day which eventually resulted in our entire vacation. The hotel staff felt like friends. Ive stayed at some expensive snooty hotels and when you ask for local recommendations for things to do, places to eat - you feel as you are inconveniencing them, cant find anyone at the concierge desk or they hand you the list of restaurants within a 15 mile radius. Every single person on the staff truly understood the word hospitality. We didnt realize how much Cleveland had to offer and the town of Mentor. It was a perfect place to stay outside the city a little bit, with a big fridge for wonderful foodie restaurant leftovers, a comfy bed, kitchen, and a living area to relax after a day of being a tourist.
I came from Florida to stay for five days with my two teenage children. I canβt say enough good things about this hotel, the staff goes above and beyond and treats you just like friends and family. I did that one time seeing unfriendly face. My room was always clean and I had everything I needed. I will definitely be staying here again.
Our room was very worn and dated, not very clean. A bummer for the price we paid! Dont stay in room 221!!!! The couch and lampshades had stains. We put a sheet over the couch so we didnt feel grossed out sitting on it. The windows had junk all over them (from sticky kid hands or dog slobber?). The toilet seat was broken. The kitchen chairs were torn up. The light in the bedroom was broken. The kitchen was not stocked well with dishes/pots/pans, no dish soap offered. The paint was peeling in the bathroom. The room did not seem like a 3 star hotel.Room 221 needs to be offered at a much lower price until its updated. We had to call for our hotel room to be vacuumed when we checked in- crumbs all over the kitchen floor and kitchen chairs. We travelled with a 1 year old and she found alllll of the leftover cat food/dog food, crumbs, old candy on the floors in each room. Gross. There wasnt exactly a continental breakfast included. Verrrry limited food offered. Rooms were not cleaned regularly, only when requested because of low staff. This was understandable because we are in a pandemic and there wasnt enough staff to run the hotel very well. A discount should probably have been offered to account for this. The staff were very kind and doing the best they could under the circumstances. The manager worked with us to do a complicated point upgrade, much appreciated.
We landed at your hotel because of car trouble. We were in the process of moving, towing a UHAUL and had our pet. Melissa went above and beyond our expectations and found us a pet friendly room when one became available and took care of us when we were able to leave early. She is the best! The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast also had plenty of hot and cold choices to choose from.
Cleanliness and appearance of this Residence was less than Iβd expect from a Marriott property. Dirty cups in the kitchen and visible drips/stains in the bathroom. It didnβt appear that much attention was given to cleaning the room between guests. The hallways and elevator had definitely seen better days as well.
Stayed June 2021 - Faculty and Staff (including breakfast attendees) did not wear masks. We were okay with this, other guests were not okay with it.The breakfast ladies were very kind! They stocked quickly, cleaned quickly, and were attentive to anything people needed or requested. No napkins or plates are provided. You can ask for napkins, and they need to retrieve them from a separate area not connected with the breakfast area. Breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal (hot water is Luke warm, which we loved but if you like it piping hot, donβt eat it.), granola bars, dry cereal (with milk available), and muffins. We def. missed the βPre COVIDβ breakfast spreads that weβve had at other Marriott hotels, but this was far better than a grab and go bag weβve had at other stays. We checked in an hour early and the front desk was very helpful!Pool was open til 10:00, our kids loved that! Itβs heated and they swam two days after we returned from our purpose of travel. Our room smelled like cat pee. It was horrible. I understood that the hotel was booked and we couldnβt switch rooms. The couch/chaise cushions were the cause of it. The lady at the front desk did apologize, and said after our stay they would move the room to not usable to fix the problem.Iron was broken in our room. We attempted to use the iron in a family memberβs room, and it was also broken. Our ice maker was broken in our room, but the ladies at the breakfast area were very kind to assist in us getting ice when I needed it in the morning. The bathroom had horrible soap scum surrounding the shower and dark hairs throughout it. Our blonde headed family knew it wasnβt ours :) We did a quick clean of it and went on as the hotel was booked and housekeeping hours are minimal due to low staffing. The pull out bed was horrible and the chaise was not able to be used as it smelled like cat urine. We looked forward to checking out!Would we stay here again? No, its not worth the cost spent.
I enjoy Marriott Resident Inn as my away from home stay. The Suites are just like a little efficiency apartment and well set up. The people are very knowledgeable, the facility is clean and the service is impeccable. You couldnt ask for a better away from home if you have to be.
We had a great one night stay, with our dog, in a 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were super clean, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, the beds were so comfortable even though we arrived very late we wet right to sleep. The hotel was quiet even though there were many guests, and we were able to catch up on sleep in the morning. The common room had everything you could want, full frig, microwave, dishes and cups, silverware. We passed on breakfast to get going quicker, but had a quick cup of coffee. Great stay!
Our rating is based totally on this experience. Considering the environment caused by covid-19, I believe your staff did an outstanding job for being understaffed. My family has stayed there a few different times in the past and loved our stay each time, and this time was no different. For the dining NA should be inserted.
Rooms facing north are subject to the freeway and on-ramp noise....which is significant. I was told upon check-in that there was only one hot food item and that because of the pandemic, the food needed to be consumed in my room. I really think they could have been more creative than that. My room was way at the end of the third floor. But I didnt bother as cold breakfast isnt my thing. It would be a great accommodation if all rooms had a raised toilet. Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable....again, not Marriott standard as I am used to.
Positive: This was an extended stay facility so there was a kitchen. Large TV that swiveled for viewing from anywhere in the room. Negative: North facing rooms were subject to the freeway noise and on ramp....which was significant. Didnt go to the free breakfast as there was only 1 hot item and food needed to be consumed in your room because of the pandemic. Bed lumpy. Toilet low to the floor
The carpets did not seem like they were vacuumed well. Found a condom wrapper under a bed. Bathrooms were decently cleaned, except some hair in one of the bathtubs. For the price, I would expect an immaculate room, especially during these times. 3 stars only because the front desk staff was very friendly and the room was huge (2 bedroom suite) and it was in a great location.
This was my first stay at the Residence Inn Cleveland/Mentor, and I was very happy. The bed was comfortable, the shower and bathroom was luxurious and well-equipped, and everything was in order. I only stayed one night, and I was actually disappointed that I wasnt able to stay longer.
The cleanliness of the rooms was poor, showers had mold, I pick up the phone to call the desk and it was filled with dust, hair in the bed sheets, one pillow case had what looked like chocolate milk on it. Breakfast area was kept well but food choices were few stating due to Covid
This an extremely well run gem. It is my familys hotel choice whenever we visit Mentor(3 times) so far. We have told family members about the 2 bedroom suites. The location is perfect also. Im a Marriott Rewards member and have been for a long time. My family was granted a nice upgrade by the GM which was not expected but very much appreciated..
This hotel was great. The staff was friendly, and your stay includes a delicious hot breakfast. Most importantly rooms are clean and spacious. We will definitely return to this hotel when we visit this area again. Thank you Resident Inn staff for taking pride in your hotel and work. Keep it up!
It was great. Our room/suite was very clean, open, and very comfortable. I had a good night of sleep in the room (which is rare for me in a hotel room). Setting up our own dinner in the room went well (no problems). The good night of sleep was very much appreciated, as I ran the 2019 Northern Ohio Marathon early the next morning.
We had an opportunity to stay four nights and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in making suggestions for things to do in the area. They took their time and we did not feel rushed. The facility itself is very clean and organized. Breakfast each morning was different and always delicious. The location is great for shopping and eating and access to the highway. The suite was very clean and comfortable. The location is close to several beaches and Lake Erie is beautiful! Everything at the hotel definitely exceeded expectations!
We needed a dog friendly hotel accommodations. The room provided a spacious layout for us and our pet. The rooms were very quiet and did not disturb the sleeping patterns of our dog. Food was good, the managers night we participated in served wine, beer and brats with other sides. Perfect since we had traveled all day and did not feel like going out for food. Will stay there again.
The location, rooms, breakfast and staff will all exceed your expectations. We travel frequently and this has been our most enjoyable stay for some time. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and roomy with very comfortable bedding and furniture. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff kept the area clean and stocked frequently. We will definitely staff at the Residence Inn on our next visit to the Mentor area. This is also a great location for shopping and other activities.
My stay was very pleasant. The room was large and well equipped, the bed was comfortable. I liked the large TV. The channel offerings were a little sparse, but acceptable. There was some noise from the highway, but not too bad. Overall the stay was good, the hotel was clean, and I will stay here again when in the area.
Was in town for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay here. The two bedroom we stayed in was large and clean. Staff was great. We were able to check in a few hours early, which was great considering we were traveling with two children below three years of age. Will gladly stay here again if were remotely in the area.
I stayed here for my 21st Birthday after a night out and I could not have asked for a better experience and hotel room. It was clean, the room was so nice, there were no bed bugs (I am an EXTREMELY clean and careful person with that kind of thing and always make sure to do a full inspection) and we had everything we needed in the room without even having to ask the staff for it. The staff was nice and helpful. They have a complimentary breakfast which was typical (cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee) and the food was good for hotel food. The area they have for breakfast was cute with a nice fireplace and comfortable seats. The breakfast area is really small so if thereβs a lot of people itβs hard to find seating which kind of stunk but we did find a seat after a couple minutes. Also they have a pool and hot tub but itβs outdoor so only open in season we stayed this winter and it wouldβve been nice to have a pool inside. The shower pressure also sucks but thatβs honestly the only negative things about this hotel, overall great hotel stay and could not have asked for anything better for the price we payed! π
Awesome hotel! Everything was provided which made the stay so much more comfortable and convenient! They have everything you need on site. For example, they have computers and printers, laundry room and also a shopping service. I also liked how they had all the little things like a shampoo/soap rack in the shower, a soap dish by the bathroom sink, cutlery and plates, bowls, mugs and glasses. Internet TV a surprising bonus! I love how they allow pets to stay also. Very clean and modern. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Would recommend and stay again in an instant!
I have traveled all my life and stayed at many hotels, and rarely do I find a hotel that is this well run. The staff at this hotel is absolutely amazing! My room is spotless and taken care of. The general manager here is involved with her guests and wants to know what she can do to help. If you are looking for a great hotel at a decent rate, this is the place to stay in Cleveland.
This hotel is truly wonderful. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Pet friendly. Nice pool and hot tub. The rooms seemed to be far enough away that we couldnβt hear our neighbors. It was so nice to have a suite with separate bedrooms as we have 4 children and two adults in our family.
I took my Goddaughter to this location for her birthday. The staff was not very welcoming. I was surprised because I LOVE MARRIOTT and I have never experienced this before. The dishes and utensils were dirty and/or severely worn. We went and purchase our own utensils. I mentioned the problem to the cleaning supervisor and he seemed unbothered. SO DISAPPOINTED. I wish MARRIOTT corporation would contact me.
My son and his fiance recently chose this hotel as the accommodations for our out-of-town guests for their wedding. We couldnt have been more pleased. The rooms were clean and spacious. Everyone mentioned how large and comfortable the rooms were. The staff was friendly, courteous and more than helpful. They went out of their way to make everything easy and relaxing. We booked one of the meeting rooms as a hospitality room on the night before the wedding for our friends and family to gather and again the morning after the wedding so that everyone could see each other to say goodbye over breakfast--it was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to make the most of our limited time together. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank You for helping to make our special weekend an even greater celebration!
We booked the 2 bedroom suite for my husband, myself and our 2 children. The rooms were spacious and gave us room to allow our kids to play and not be on top of us. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The suite was clean and tidy. Front desk and maintenance were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was hot and offered a variety of options. Overall a great stay. I will continue to stay at residence Inn by Marriott for my traveling nights.
Room was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Best breakfast at a hotel I have had in some time. Only one minor issue was the hot tub. Was really looking forward to it after a long day and the temperature and jets were definitely lacking. Minor issue compared to all the positives. Would definitely return.
Staff was 5 stars - friendly, helpful, attentive, & efficient. Hotel looked exactly like the online pictures. VERY clean and well maintained & decor up kept. Breakfast was above others. Bed/pillows were very comfortable. Rooms spacious. Clean pet friendly rooms a huge bonus. We used the exercise room and pool/hot tub all great. We will stay here again.
We have been staying at the Residence Inn for the past several years. We are in the area at least once a year to visit family. We love the reliable service and ample space for our 2-adult, 3-kid family. Staff is super nice and helpful. Decor could use an upgrade, though its well maintained and not shabby. Wish the breakfast area had a few more tables. Would love more frequent social hours. Would like more reliable Internet connection and more on-demand movie options. My youngest doesnt have any of the toddler-oriented channels she has at home. Pool, fitness room, and laundry facilities are adequate for the hotel size but nothing out of the ordinary. Hotel is kept very clean and maid service is tops. Last time we visited, the refirgerator was well stocked---though in the past this has not always been the case. Parking is ample.
The hotel is lovely and the furnishings are updated. Some of the rooms are very noisy due to road noise, generally the rooms are clean, we had a couple small issues with dirty dishes that had been placed in the kitchen cabinet for use. The suite was a great size. Having a kitchen and large living area is great. The beds and pillows are not comfortable.
We stayed here this past weekend. The room was great, the renovations were done much better than other hotels that claim totally renovated. The only reno that was tacky was that old outside door was still there, just deadbolted shut. Kind of over shadowed the modern feel of everything else. If your going to renovate to get the modern feeling, take down the outside door! It reminded me of an old motor inn. As I said, room was very clean, carpet was nice, bed comfy, no odd smells, and quiet. Suite had kitchen, that tile needs to be washed after every use. I spilled some water and used a towel to wipe it up, it was black. Breakfast had many options, hot and good, no staff in sight. Overall staff was average, not going out of their way on the phone for reservation questions, check-in or check-out. The afternoon maintenance man did give me a smile, so he gets my vote for friendliest. I do have an issue with the pet policy, which may sound like a double standard. The charges for a pet are high compared to other hotels, and the explanation is that the room must be sanitized for the next occupant. I am 99% sure that nothing different was done to my room upon check-out in comparison to someone that did not have a pet. Excellent job on the overall cleaning of the rooms (not kitchen tile, and some dust above bed headboard), but dont claim that a room with a pet is cleaned any differently.
The Inn is perfectly and safely located near enough to just about anything in northeast Ohio that you might want to see or do. And even though I moved from Mentor in 1972 and loved it just the way it was, I am amazed at how much more there is to do now and how thoughtfully and tastefully it has all been planned and developed. I WILL BE BACK!
Nice staff. Good breakfast. Our room was big. Just need to clean the rooms better. Our room was very dusty. I had to do a full wipe down when we got there. Stuff on the counters in the bathrooms. A LOT of dust and garbage under the beds and couch. Found finger nail clippings on floor by bed and night stand.
We stayed in 2 suites and one single room for my daughters wedding. The rooms were lovely containing full scale appliances. The layout worked well for families and dressing the bride. We took lovely photos in the room (with fireplace) and in a beautiful staircase. The facility was exceptionally clean and had a beautiful and comfortable foyer with a roaring fireplace. We would definitely stay at a Residence Inn. It will be our top choice from now on
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were magnificent. We brought our family pet and the staff treated him so well. Location is so close to the beat and great local businesses. The pool was clean and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast Ive ever had! Our stay was truly amazing!
We stayed at the Residence Inn in Mentor, Ohio for one night in April 2016. The hotel is very new, modern, well-kept, and welcoming! The staff are professional yet approachable. The breakfast was great and the fitness center was wonderful. We especially loved having a full size refrigerator and full kitchen/cooking facility. Although we didnt need to use this service, there was information that, if a guest leaves a grocery list for the staff, the items will be stocked in the guests kitchen and the cost will be put on the guests account. THAT is service!!!! What a great experience!! A special shout out to Alicia at the front desk who is stellar at her job!!
We stay here every time were in the area visiting family. We stayed in a suite. It was very nice and spacious. Everything was clean. The free breakfast was awesome. Eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon, bagels, waffles, and muffins are a few of the things they have for breakfast. Loved the coffee too. The staff was also courteous and helpful. 5 stars!
I will never be back. They advertise amenities as pool (closed), spa (closed), patio (3 tables on a 5 ft wide slab of concrete, which surroundes the closed, fenced in pool) and only enough chairs for two of the three tables. No ice machine, instead they have ice maker in the refrigerator (in room), which made 8 cubes/HR. Breakfast was advertised as being hot and a full breakfast, instead theyre offering a nagged Continental breakfast. Their exercise room was also advertised, but it was closed as well. Now I know these amenities were closed due to COVID19, but that has been going on since January 2020. I guess they havent been able to make the time needed to update their advertisements, or at least add a warning/ FYI to their advertisements or website. This room cost just over $150/night, I had booked a two night stay, but left after one. Luckily I booked on line with the hotel, so there was no penalty for leaving early. That said, I booked through this same hotel, and yet they chose not to disclose all their advertised amenities were closed and unavailable.
Location was very handy and we felt very safe. Several restaurants are within walking distance. Facility was very clean and well maintained. There is even a grill, outside pool, and basketball court. Our room was spacious and quiet, and the bed was comfy. We travel with our dog, so we really appreciate a clean facility that is also pet friendly. I am marking the Value for Money only as good, as I do feel $75 is a bit steep for a one night pet fee - but the value of the room itself is excellent. I would definitely recommend Residence Inn Cleveland Mentor.
The Marriot came through again. We needed a room for 2 nights and really got more than we needed. The hotel was full but maintained a quiet and clean atmosphere. Laundry facilities were great, room was spacious, and breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. Will definitely stay there again when weβre in town.
We stayed in a two bedroom suite. Room was very large and we felt like we were at home there. The biggest issue was we got a pure room but found dog hair all over the chairs and sofa. I got this room because of allergies and we have a one year old with us as well. We payed the extra price for the peice of mind but was disappointed when we found out that a pet had stayed in this pure room prior. The staff did do the best they could to fix the situation but short of actually tearing down the room and deep cleaning it it will always have that pet hair around. They did compensate us by just charging us the regular room price but the money was the least of my worries. The other small issue was the housekeeping staff. It was hard to get them to clean the room and when we did get someone to come up they asked us what they wanted us to do. It was simple just do what you normally would do. Other than those 2 issues the hotel was great and the rest of the staff was wonderful.
We were there due to a small house fire. The staff was amazing, helping us feel as home as possible. Our room was beautiful. We had two full bathrooms, a small kitchen, dinning area, living room, and two big beds. The master bed was mine and my husbands room and my kids shared the other suite. We were even able to have my family join us for NEW years dinner. Mon.,Tues, and Weds. was fun at night with their mixers. My kids loved going down to the dining area and getting a special meal/snack and talking with other guests.
It seemed a bit out of the way for meetings, but once I arrived, the good times began. Hotel room was spacious and clean; air conditioning, TV, and the internet worked well. Staff went out of their way to ensure that the meeting room had everything we needed. The exercise room was decently equipped and there was a guest laundry available.Since it is in the middle of summer, there were a large number of families that were staying here, but the hallways were quiet, and none of the vacation activities disturbed our meetings.Within walking distance of the hotel were several restaurants ranging from fast food to a decent steak house and a wing place. A short drive brought us to a couple of local sea (lake) food restaurants that were fun and reasonable in price. A slightly longer drive will take you to a state park on Lake Erie with a large beach with picnic tables and grills, just right for an evening cookout after a long day of meetings.I have been to many hotels and this place and locale rates in the top of my memories as a place to be able to work and unwind both.Highly recommended
I stayed there 2 nights. It was a very spacious 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen and dining room table. The kitchen had a full size refrigerator, stove (with oven), a small dishwasher and pots for cooking. Each room had a queen size bed and a bathroom (one of them for handicapped guests). It was very clean, comfortable, quiet and the staff was very responsive. Ill definitely be back.
This was the perfect hotel for our stay in Mentor. The over all decor was modern and eye appealing. The kitchen was well supplied with most of what we needed, no wine bottle opener but could obtain one at the front desk. I would only add a kid play area or shallow end to pool since we were traveling with little children.
We have stayed at this Inn every Christmas for many years. The staff welcomes us back like old friends. The 2-bedroom suite is perfect for our family because there are 3 beds in 3 separate rooms, and 2 bathrooms. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are well-laid-out, the bathroom with sink outside works well for sharing. Internet is included and works well, even when 4 of us are on at the same time. The breakfast is always good; the eating area has been updated and works well for the different needs of different guests.
The staff was very friendly quick check-in the rooms are very comfy, nice, clean and spacious the breakfast was amazing the area was very maintained as well and the pool was nice and clean as well. Lots of places to eat and shop walking distance there is a movie theater right across that was very nice as well I highly recommend this hotel we will definitely book again soon. Thank you Residence Inn for a memorable stayThe Gonzalez family
I stay here often for work and the place is very well run and Cindy, the manager there is βtop notchβ. I have never stayed anywhere where the manager was so conscientious and followed up on every detail. I have lost so many items at other hotels and never revive any follow up from staff and do not ever have he items returned to me. However, when I leave items behind at Residence Inn, Cindy immediately follows up with me and ships the items to me immediately. She is a consummate professional and does her job extremely well. I am immensely impressed with her and the hotel overall.
Great place to stay with just the most friendly employees. Great breakfast great prices and the suite I stayed in was just fabulous. Melissa from the front office is so wonderful anything you need she finds a way to accommodate with a smile and some laughter. She was fabulous.
A great hotel full of Ambiance. I love every section built in this place. The breakfast is amazing and the snack hour is great. The staff are all guinely nice and very helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautiful with a touch of home for all your needs while away! I love staying here!
The suite was so accommodating for 2 couples, 2 bed, 2 bath, space to gather, and privacy too. Accessible, clean and comfortable. Had a funeral to attend, so last minute reservation. Friendly, helpful staff from start to finish and great breakfast. Thank you. We will stay again when visiting family.
Visiting family with 3 grandchildren, the Residence Inn was the perfect environment as it provided comfort, breakfast, kitchen and sufficient space to allow me to host a small family gathering for the holidays. Convenient location near restaurants and we were even able to run over to Home Depot to get some batteries for holiday toys. A great staff and warm cozy lounge/breakfast area made the visit even more enjoyable. No indoor pool, but that was not a big issue for us.
This was a clean facility, but the rooms were a little dated compared to other Marriott properties. The breakfast was good, but the eating area was undersized for such a large hotel. Definitely not enough tables or chairs for the amount of people staying there that weekend. Staff was very courteous, except for one gentleman on Saturday night too busy on the phone to acknowledge people standing at the counter. Very rude, that one! Beds werent the usual Marriott type that weve become accustomed to, but they were comfortable none the less. Overall a pleasant experience.
We stayed on a Friday night after a high school football game. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for four of us. It was great to have 2 baths. The room was nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast had everything we needed to be on our way. Thanks for a lovely stay.
We prefer Residence Inns when traveling as a family because theyβre so convenient. This one came with an incredibly rude woman at the front desk to check us in, a lobby that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and an outdoor pool...in OH. Why would a hotel that can only have itβs pool open a few months a year have an outdoor pool? Needless to say, the kids were very disappointed and this was definitely not our favorite experience.
We arrived at noon and we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready. Our room was either new or exceptionally clean and definitely up to date. The pool area was clean and the breakfast staff did a great job keeping the buffet area clean and tidy. For us, its ALL about CLEAN or we dont go back. We will definitely be back!
I had a great experience at the Residence Inn. I travel to Mentor frequently and had not stayed at the Residence Inn for several years. The remodeling is impressive. The staff was fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are wonderful; clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the evening social opportunities. Ill be back next week!
Everybody has a different view when it comes to a hotel, but I cant say enough about how great everyone was. The breakfast/social staff was great. Helpful and very friendly (Lori & Beamer). The layout of the lobby is great for business gatherings and family, giving you the option of a booth or tables w/plugs available for electronics. The front desk and management are always ready and eager to help with any questions or directions, and its only a 30 min drive to Cleveland.
Our visit was to attend a function at the cultural center. We arrived early, thats what old people do, and the room was ready.A nice way to start a celebration for our niece. The room had everything that a $4000 a month studio apartment in Manhattan could hold.We were pleased, did not hear our neighbors, once road noise leveled off, we were ableto get the rest we needed.
My family and I spent two nights at the Mentor, Ohio Residence Inn as part of a family get together for the Memorial Weekend. The hotel is clean and the staff very competent. Id like to compliment Aleesha, in the cafe, for the above and beyond service she gave during our breakfast. What a wonderful person and employee she is. To top off the weekend, the pool was open and waiting for the start of the summer season! We also enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake County at the Mentor Headlands Beach which is just a few short minutes from the hotel.
Not only were the rooms wonderful, the staff was above and beyond. The breakfast was great in the morning as well. This location is all about the local community. After a tragic incident they were there for family and friends. I will never forget the compassion and thoughtfulness of the management here, and will most certainly not be booking any other hotels in the Mentor area.
The Residence Inn was a pleasant surprise. I typically do not stay at Marriott properties but did this week after the reservations were made for me and learned about the superior level that the hotel sees as their standard. Over my three days there were no problems whatsoever and any criticisms would be minor and pale in comparison to all of the positives that this hotel delivered.
Team and families stayed here recently while attending a basketball tournament in nearby Chardon, Ohio. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern, clean and well maintained. Complimentary breakfast was good. Will definetely stay here again if in area and highly recomend.
Really nice, clean, and courteous staffed place. The daily complimentary breakfast is really a nice touch, too. The one drawback, if you can call it that is the location. Its kind of between Mentor and Painesville, so about ten minutes from either. There is a nice theater and couple of restaurants nearby, but thats about all in close/walking distance.
Room was spotless. Breakfast was the standard Residence Inn fare, which is pretty decent.Highway noise was noticeable, but I was able to drown it out during the night by running the fan. Outdoor pool only.I neeed a place to stay with my infant daughter and was unable to access my Marriott rewards account when booking the hotel, so I consequently used my wifes account to access a reward night. This did not sit well with the night manager at check-in and she asked to speak with my wife over the phone, (which I get, and was totally cool with).. I obliged and they spoke. However, that wasnt enough for an overbearing manager and she wanted more proof I had permission to use my wifes account... lol...Okay...??Overall, alright stay. Id maybe consider staying next trip if the price were right, but would probably stay at the Hampton if the cost was about the same.
We stayed for one night and the room was spacious and clean. Staff greeted us and had our room ready upon check-in. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. This location is convenient to Beechwood, Spire Institute and Geneva on the Lake. Enjoyed dinner in the area at Pickle Bills Lobster House just a short drive from hotel. Movie theatre next to hotel too.Next time we are in the Cleveland area or attending an event at Spire Institute we will stay at the Residence Inn. Rooms, Staff and location make this a perfect Marriott selection.
This was the worst experience Ive ever had at any Marriott. I checked in Monday and proceeded to my room. Upon entering, I noticed a foul smell. I adjusted the thermostat, because the room temperature was 79 degrees, hoping that the running air would clear the smell. After an hour and a half, the room was still very warm. I checked the thermostat and saw that the temp hadnt changed. I checked the vents and noticed that air was blowing but it wasnt cold. I went downstairs and told the employee about the problems. She said she would send maintenance to my room. The maintenance man came to the room but could not figure out how to fix the problem. He left the room and said he would come back in a little while. Approximately 45 minutes later, he returned and told me he could not fix it, my room had a broken air compressor, but the building engineer would in the next day to look at it. He began setting up 2 FILTHY fans and an air purifier to help with the smell. The fans were disgusting. I later found out this room had a known problem with the air system before I checked in. I asked to be moved to another room but was told the hotel was full. The room also had a running toilet.Someone did come Tuesday to repair the air conditioning. On Thursday night, the temperature outside was approx 20 degrees colder than it was at the beginning of the week and I needed to turn the heat on. I had the same problem with the heat. Air was blowing but it was not hot air. Again, I went to the front desk and spoke to the manager. She conferred with maintenance and said that they knew the heat didnt work. On Tuesday, they were able to fix the AC but not the heat. Why was I assigned to a room with known problems? It wasnt until Thursday night, after already spending 3 nights in the stinky room with the running toilet that I was finally moved to another room. The hotel employees did not care about how much they were inconveniencing me and making my stay uncomfortable. If all of their rooms were full, I shouldve been at least given the choice to move to another hotel. Staying in that room with no working AC, no working heat, and my only compensation being 2 disgusting fans to blow on me at night was not good enough. The employees at the front desk were not apologetic and did not attempt to improve the quality of my stay. I was inconvenienced throughout this visit and told I was put in that room by accident, and yet, I still paid for it while Marriott profited.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area. The staff is pleasant and concerned with the comfort of the guests. They work all day long to make sure your stay is as great as it can be. The outside pool area and basketball court is a great way to entertain the kids. The rooms are a great size, and it has a very nice laundry facility.
I was very impressed for a 3 star property, this place was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Changed slightly each day. All amenities were well maintained. They even had a basketball court for our boys to use. There are quite a few restaurants withing walking distance. It was very convenient.
My 83 year old handicap father said he couldnt wait to stay here again. It was affordable but also very much like home and for an 83 year old handicap person that means a lot as most places are difficult and cause extra anxiety when traveling but this suite was great for us. It provided privacy for me as the care giver as well as allowed my dad some independence since he was able to get to the bathroom and bedroom easily. It felt like home.
I stay here every Thanksgiving or whenever I need to come home for business or pleasure and itβs not just that the hotel itself is just one of the best places Iβve ever stayed at but Its in a great area for shopping and eating. Not too far from downtown Cleveland. I live in Florida and travel a lot but this place and the one in Gainesville, Florida has the best suites. Dog friendly is a big plus. Great place and staff!!
Thats right 17 months here for work. Bob and his entire staff have been great. Housekeeping is the best, they are very detail driven.Maint. response very quickly. Rates very reasonable I have checked other extended stay hotels and even apartment rates when you factor in everything Value Place has it won.
I had a business trip in Chardon, OH since the 15th of August. I stayed at the Residence Inn in Mentor. The whole staff from the front desk to the housekeeping were great. They greeted by my first name and made every night comfortable. The staff exceeded my expectation of customer service. I want to thank the whole staff that made my home away from home a great experience!!!
I reviewed this with a firewall rating on trip advisor because it has become a regular place we count on when visiting family for comfort and a good nights rest. The bed is of superior quality, the room HVAC fan can be toggled from auto to on to give white noise. The A/C is functional where most hotels climate is centrally controlled.
We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms and hotels were clean, parking was convenient and free. It was also easy to get around since highway was nearby. We also took advantage of the movie theater across the street. No complaints!
Roadtrippers with extended family travelled 1900 miles including 3 children 4,8,11. Residence Inn by far our favorite place to stay. The 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen perfect for our needs. Beds were comfortable, service friendly, facility clean and in excellent repair. Best value for our money. We stayed here because of the close proximity to President Garfields Historical site. Mentor facility also very close to Sams Wholesale club so we were able to save $$ picking up a few items needed on our trip.
While in town for a wedding, Residence Inn was 40-50$ less than the hotel next door. For that price, we got a larger room, a small kitchenette, and free breakfast. When we arrived before the wedding, our room was upgraded to a suite for no reason at all (which never happens to me!). We had a full kitchen, and a beautiful room. While saving money, we had an amazing room and a great stay. I wish we had more reasons to come to Mentor!
I was impressed with the recent updates of the Residence Inn - from the lobby to my suite. Whenever a hotel makes such improvements it tells me that they really do care about the folks who stay there. I also tried out my first Pure suite and Id pick it every time - loved the clean fresh smell instead of scents to cover things up!Everything was pretty good, but dont come here for bananas - they are horrible!
The staff at this Mentor hotel are TOP NOTCH!! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Mentor area or need to be near the lake. They made our Birthday getaway so nice and comfortable. We felt like we were coming home every night, which is a great feeling in a hotel.
There were people having a party in the pool area. I called the desk at 11:30pm and asked when the pool closed. Brian told me 10:00 but it was OK to go in anyway. I told him I wanted the noise to stop. I called at 12:00 when the noise continued. He said he told them to leave but apparently they didnt; hed tell them again. I called 2 more times, finally saying hed call the police. You dont need the police; you need a manager who enforces the hotels rules and can handle problem situations with authority. At 1:00am I finally opened the window and asked them to leave. They told me to come down and have a rum and coke; it would make me feel better. After telling the general manager the next day, she moved us to another room. The next night, at 10:30pm, a hotel employee stood in the hallway outside our new room, talking to someone on what sounded like a walkie-talkie. We could clearly hear his conversation and the other persons response.I left a shirt in the first room. Someone at the front desk said if it was found it should have been turned into them and it wasnt. The next day I went to Housekeeping and they said they had it, so apparently they dont know about turning things into the front desk. The curtains didnt close completely in either room. The windows in the first room (214) faced the pool area which is completely lit all night. The air conditioning vent in the 2nd room (320) was next to the head on the bed. Whoever sleeps on that side has the vent and noise literally in their face. Weve stayed in a lot of Marriott properties, and have earned and spent hundreds of thousands of points over the years. This is the most poorly operated property in any motel / hotel chain Ive ever stayed at.
Wonderful Residence Inn. Highly recommended. Easy access to the thruway connections. 15 to 20 minutes to Cleveland Clinic. Very quiet and clean hotel. The staff is extremely accommodating, friendly and professional. I stay at this location every time I come to the Cleveland area. There is a complimentary breakfast and no charge for parking.
Very comfortable and quiet hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Evening social has good food on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rooms are quiet even though hotel is next to highway. Breakfast is uninspired, but adequate is you dont have special dietary needs. Cant beat the location.Landscaping looks old and tired.
Residence Inn in Mentor is convenient to may restaurants in the area and close to the highway.Breakfast is great and the evening socials are very nice. Rooms are always clean and allow plenty of room to work and relax. Workout room is a weak area (2 tradmills and 1 eliptical).Staff is friendly and helpful. Food Preparation staff does a very good job with presenting food and hosting the evening events.
This was by far the best Residence Inn stay, or Marriott Hotel stay I ever have had. The people were friendly, helpful and kind. They were truly genuinely kind about their offers, and very nice. I travel frequently for work, and will make every attempt I can to stay at this location as often as I can. AMAZING, quality customer experience.
I find this hotel to be very good, quiet, clean, elegant with spacious and comfortable room with full kitchen, dinette, living room and bathroom in an L shaped configuration. Internet is free and reasonably fast. Breakfast was good. I will definitely stay here when I am in the area.
I have been staying in this area attending an evening social and have tried multiple hotel nearby. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful this hotel is. Clean, Quiet, full kitchen, pleasant staff. I stay for pleasure in hotel more than 40 nights a year and I felt that this place really rise above many. I will definitely be back.
I was only here for one night. The facility had been updated since my last stay. We stay here for family gatherings in the summer. I had a studio room and found it to be extremely comfortable. The staff was very courteous and polite. I highly recommend this facility. And...its pet friendly which I truly appreciate.
I travel on average 10 to 15 nights a month and stay at a lot of other hotels. This hotel is far the best one that I have the pleasure of staying at. Other places are clean, friendly and I have very few issues with but the management and staff of this hotel they have managed to create an exceptional all around excellent place for a business traveler as myself to stay .
You wont be disappointed with this Marriott Property. Its located near dining areas that you can walk to. The Mentor Headlands Beach is beautiful with a new boardwalk and pavilion seating area. Our daughter commented that this new area has the feel of walking to the ocean. Just a 15 minute drive along Mentor Avenue takes you to The Great Lakes Mall. This has Macys as an anchor store and a new BJs Restaurant. If you need help with your reservation I have found Laurie Sinclair to be extra helpful. When you eat in the breakfast area make sure to meet Anna. Shes one of the servers who is delightful and also very helpful!
Stayed here for Thanksgiving Holiday. The hotel is clean with a great staff who are friendly and willing to help. The hotel is dated. Its still very functional for business or personal travelers.Well located right off Rte. 2 and just north of I-90 so very convenient.
Nice hotel. Three stars because the pool and hot tub are outside, this is Ohio. Excercise room is missing most of the small weights. The temperature in the excercise room is kept at 71, with no fans. I asked for it to be turned down but was told 71 is the standard for Marriotts, I live in hotels all year, its not the standard. Ch ch
I have stayed here twice, for 4 nights each, and they have been fantastic! Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and nightly events in the lobby. When traveling alone for work, having appetizers and drinks in the lobby is a fun change of pace! I definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Mentor!
My stay at the Residence Inn was a good experience. I was there a total of five nights. Room was clean, sheets were clean and friendly staff. I travel for work on a weekly basis to different states. I would definitely stay in this hotel again on my next trip to Mentor Ohio.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. We rented a meeting room for department team meeting and the staff went out of their way to ensure that the space was accommodating. Some team member stayed in the hotel and stated that rooms were NICE. Hotel was recently renovated.
Last minute decision to travel to look at the leaves during a fall weekend. Utilized a king suite with a sleeper sofa (the mattress was great and felt like a real bed). Had read so many positive reviews on this site with warning of traffics noise on the highway side which we never heard with our highway side room. Just set the GPS to wineries and covered bridges -- had an easy and fun weekend.
The stay was nice,I wish the breakfast would start later so it could end later, and wish the fruit would have been there at 9;30 A.M., only had a handful of pineapple and old bananas. This might have been because I saw one lady make so many trips up there then had her two kids plus herself take 3 huge plates of so much food with her to her room {that was after they ate 2 plates at the table} how ignorant!!
Traveled to Ohio for NCAA championships at the Spire Institute. The Residence Inn at Mentor was very clean and comfortable during our stay. There were a choice of places to eat in the area. We were pleased with our well equipped room. We could have cooked a dinner in the room.
My husband and I spent a long weekend in Northeast Ohio in order to visit with friends and family. We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Mentor, Ohio. We enjoyed our time in a very clean and efficient king suite. This Residence Inn has a friendly and helpful staff. The weekend and weekday breakfasts have a variety of options for everyone. We enjoyed a short drive to Mentor Headlands Beach and dinner at Brennans Seafood Restaurant. We drove to The Great Lakes Mall for shopping and lunch at the very new BJs Restaurant.
Absolutely love that place so clean so nice so quiet even got to take my dog the beds are just so comfortable the manager she was just unbelievable she helped me use my points and everything was ready and you walk in you got the munchies you got everything there and everythings around us here you know weve got Sams club we got you know all kinds of places to eat and closer to freeway I give this place five stars Id recommend them anytime
Cant wait for the future updates coming- rooms need thempremises and staff are greatbasketball court is awesomehaving a fitness center on the 2nd floor just down from rooms was a nice optionwould have really liked a stairway in the middle of the building instead of always going to the very ends of the hotel.real food offered at the breakfast buffet- big pot of oatmeal with walnuts and raisins, not powdered eggs, real ham/sausage offereda little pricey but overall most enjoyable stay
For the past two years I have stayed at this location when need to see my specialists in Cleveland Clinic. It is conveniently located. The rooms are very clean. The staff are wonderful...Melissa, Cindy, Robert, etc.....is an asset to the Marriott. I highly recommend this location.
Residence Inn by Marriot is by far my absolute favorite domestic hotel. The rooms are like apartment homes and I thoroughly enjoy each and every stay. The Residence Inn Cleveland Mentor definitely bolstered my expectations as this was the best Residence Inn I have stayed at this far. The rooms are consistently beautifully appointed and this particular location was immaculately decorated with a modern flair and the customer service at check in was exemplary.
Nice place to stay. However I am a bit disappointed by the fact that I had to call to get a receipt. This is the second trip in a row that Marriott failed to provide the receipt via email. Funny how they used to leave it in the door but now they email if you are lucky. Lessons learned ask them to print it before you leave.
Was in town for a family members wedding, Residence Inn was one of few hotels who offer a king double suite with double bath rooms, this allowed us to travel with and stay with other family members! Convenient location with eating options close and a very nice hot breakfast provided at the hotel!
The Residence Inn Mentor is an excellent hotel. There are other choices in the area, but you will not go wrong staying here. The hotel is extremely clean, offers a complementary breakfast with hot and cold foods. The outdoor pool and hot tub was very much appreciated.
The staff at this Residence Inn is fantastic. They will learn your name and when you have an issue they resolve it quickly. They care about their guest, I travel on occasion with 6 other colleagues and they know them as well. Great group of people and a great value for your money.
All we can say is Wow! The Residence Inn in Mentor, Ohio, was welcoming, very clean, and well-maintained. The staff was pleasant and professional. My wife is a stickler for clean bathrooms and this property was spotless! Congratulations to the management and staff for providing a superior guest experience.
We stay here many times a year and the staff is always wonderful, the rooms are perfect, the breakfast is great and the overall hotel and the experience is amazing. The general manager here should be an example on how to run an extremely effective operation. Bravo!

2022-06-25Very nice rooms with privacy. Respectful staff aswell as very good food. All the provided amenities worked just fine, and all staff were friendly. A staff member even played a quick game of basketball with me, which I thought was going the extra mile. Definitely costly, but the price is worth the great service and provided amenities. If I need a hotel anytime soon the Residence Inn is where Ill be staying.

2022-04-03Positive: Room size and general amenities were excellent. Breakfast was tasty and sufficient. Negative: White paint in the bath flaked off constantly. Paint poorly concealed some damaged crown molding. The Business Center printer was out of ink, there was no available ink cartridge, and staff was not interested. Carpets were dirty in stairs and hallway.

2021-10-19My stay was fantastic. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, made us feel welcomed. Breakfast is great (homemade breakfast sandwiches), clean and roomy dining area in the lobby as well. Clean, lovely rooms with comfortable beds and sitting areas. Kitchen included microwave, fridge, and induction stove too! Hotel is close to restaurants that stay open late, and its quiet even if it is close to the expressway ramps (which is a plus in my book). I truly enjoyed my stay.

2021-10-10Very pleased with the size of the room (King Suite), the kitchen was additional bonus we were not expecting. The room was larger than any hotel we have stayed in. Thankful for the couch as my husband is disabled & could not sleep flat on the bed. Really enjoyed our short stay & the staff was very helpful & extremely friendly. One of the best places we have ever stayed.

2021-10-23Stayed here twice this past year and a few other times in prior years. Always a pleasant experience. Love that room sizes provide so much more space than a typical hotel room elsewhere. Also, close to shopping and highway in a nice east suburb neighborhood of Cleveland. Always feel very safe here too.

2021-10-20We have been staying here while our new home is being built. We have a room filled with clothes and boxes and we have made it work. We have computers and a full size kitchen, so we are able to live fairly normally. Our room is serviced once a week but if we need anything in between the staff is very accommodating. Im glad we chose to stay here.

2021-10-18I cant believe we just stumbled onto this gem! We were driving from Maine to Michigan. We were tired, it was very dark and everything was sold out. I found this hotel on my phone (in the dark) and saw that it had good reviews (been fooled by those before so still hesitant) and just shouted I dont care, Im booking it! I am SOOOO glad I did. What a beautiful hotel and probably one of the top five cleanest hotel rooms I have every stayed in. They observed COVID protocol to the highest level which put me at ease. The room I booked wasnt available so the VERY nice man at the desk (wish I wouldve gotten his name) upgraded us! The room was HUGE and so clean. I was so happy, tired, relieved that I wanted to cry. I almost dont want to give this review (save this diamond for myself) but they deserve all the praise I can give! I even left my curling irons and Cindy called me and offered to mail them to me if I needed them (they were not worth the energy but so thoughtful). The breakfast was excellent and the woman working (extremely hard) was amazing and deserves a huge thank you from everyone! If there was a 15 on this scale I would have wouldve given it. There was a note in the room to they were short staffed and working hard to keep up - if this hotel is a reflection of short staffed - those people are working their butts off. I know this is long but wanted to make sure I raved about the hotel and staff. Thank you Residence Inn Cleveland Mentor for providing such a clean hotel and putting a weary travelers mind at rest! I will always remember this location when traveling that way!

2021-07-08We had a very favorable one-night stay. Mark at the front desk, and all the staff we encountered, was very friendly and helpful. Despite a shortage of housekeeping staff, our room and the facility were pretty clean. The hotel was quiet, the pool was great, and even the continental breakfast was pretty good. Our deadbolt didnt work, I let the staff know when we checked out. Overall very favorable.

2021-06-15Iβve traveled to this area often throughout the many years to visit family and attend family events such as weddings and christenings, etc. Iβve pretty much stayed at every hotel in the area and Residence Inn Mentor is my favorite one. We always travel as a family and it gives us the most space, as the suites are a nice size. Plus, itβs nice to have the entirely separate living room/dining/kitchen areas as well. This particular trip we had the two-bedroom, two bath suite. My elderly parents were in one bedroom, while we were in the other. It was nice to be able to get ready for the event we were attending without getting in one anotherβs way with having the separate bedrooms and separate bathrooms, making it very convenient. The layout of the suites truly just works very well! It feels more like a residence/apartment than it does a hotel. The common areas of the hotel have been updated/modernized since my previous stay at this hotel and were done nicely. The grounds are nice with an inground pool and tennis court. Very convenient for shopping as well, as itβs located at the helm of a pretty large shopping area. Convenient to highway too, right off the exit.
