Positive: They were very welcoming. Also, when I checked in I asked to be away from others because my son is autistic and had been very stressed so might be kind of loud. They were super understanding of this and completely accommodating of our needs. Negative: Our room definitely had not been properly cleaned after the last person to stay there. There was leftover food in the microwave. There was hair in the shower/tub. The floor was dirty. The dining room at breakfast wasnt very clean either. Dirty tables etc
I stayed here two different nights on a recent trip from Wisconsin to NH and home again. The desk staff was friendly, competent, and welcoming. Though the building is aging, both my rooms were clean. The location felt safe to me, as a woman traveling solo.My first room, at the beginning of my trip, had a very loud fan in the AC unit, and the bed was definitely past its prime. I did not ask to be moved to a different room, though in retrospect, I wish I had.The second room, on my way home, was much better. The AC functioned well, making noise in the usual normal range, and the bed was much better.I would describe the breakfast as minimal for a free hotel breakfast. If the quality of the breakfast is a deal-breaker for you, this one wont win you over. There were hard boiled eggs, packaged pastries, bagels, and bread/toast. Given the relative budget price point of the hotel, this was fine for me. If you want a fancier breakfast, you can always go buy one and still spend less in total than some of the nearby hotels would charge. For my needs, the location was perfect. Easy on and off of I-90 and about halfway between WI and NH.My rating on service is definitely 5 stars. The room for my first stay would be in the 2-3 star range, and the room from my second stay would be 5 stars, given the age of the facility.
Room was clean, well equipped, and properly stocked. Microwave and fridge, although unused, nice to know those were available.Staff was nice. I had to wait a little bit for a room to be cleaned, but they were very fast about that - which was great.Food was close by if driving, but without personal transportation food delivery is your friend.I would stay again.
Very expensive for what it is. The rooms looked like they were recently updated but it was very dirty. The hallways smelled like an old folks home. There were dead bugs all over the floor of our room. The walls near the whirlpool tub were disgusting. The pillows were tiny and the bed was uncomfortable. The only saving grace was the kind staff.
Our door doesnt lock, but thats okay because I have to use my entire body to open the door so it seems locked. The bathroom door in our room didnt shut. The walls are yellow from what looks like old smoke. The ac in our room looks to be from the 1990s and acts like it too. Our room was so hot the entire stay. I had to get new keys for our room every night we stayed. All five nights were pretty much miserable. The website said queen beds but they are only full size. Only upside was the staff was super friendly. Unless youre on a strict budget or just looking for a cheaper hotel I wouldnt stay here.
The receptionist at the front desk when checking incould have been a little bit more nicer. She rocked the hair color but her attitude could have been a little more pleasant. The receptionists are the first impression of the hotel. Was not really a great first impression. She could have greeted us with a smile and been nicer. Its almost like she did not want to be there. Was not really a happy atmosphere. We came here with the idea off bringing happiness. Instead we felt unwanted. There was fecies stuck to the toilet bowl and dust through out the room. DOH... Someone isnt doing there job correctly or did one of the workers decided to take a poop before vacating the room?. A discount is probably too much to ask especially in Ashtabula County. We had to pay $100 security deposit for......... Just to get it back... If you want my honest opinion, $104 for a room that had the bathroom sink outside the back room, dusty and over priced, I dont recommend I would stay here again. Was looking forward to that continental breakfast, at least hoping eggs, bacon and sausage. I settled for oatmeal, bagels and hard boiled eggs. All in all the staff members need to be reviewed, prices need to be adjusted and hotel cleansiness kept up a bit more. Thats my honest opinion and honest review.
Nice place with great customer service. A good breakfast too. If thats all there was to it, Id be giving this place 4 or 5 stars. I just cant look over the fact that when we arrived at our rooms, they were not clean. And I dont mean that the beds werent made, I mean garbage everywhere, donut wrappers on the bed, the toilet wasnt flushed. No one had even checked it over before okaying it. This was not the clerks fault, of course, and she was very accommodating and apologetic about it - we got new, clean rooms right away. The people running it are dedicated to giving you good service, but dont expect a perfect experience!
Very clean and comfortableRoom had microwave and fridge with the bathroom area being separate from the bedroom area.Friendly front desk staff with overnight security guardBreakfast wasnt eaten here.Didnt have any fresh fruitsonly breads and boiled eggs. Will stay again if traveling in this area
This is an excellent stay. Even though this hotel had a past that’s just it. It stayed in the past. I love staying in this location because it’s so convenient to other cities and amenities. This location has a bar that is open and always breakfast in the mornings. Staff are beyond friendly compared to anywhere I’ve ever traveled to. Non smoking inside of the hotel but you can smoke outside. The owner is a wonderful gentleman as well. He is investing a lot of time and money to bring this location up and beyond expectations. If you ever need a stay that is quiet, friendly and convenient I would choose Red Roof Inn-Austinsburg over any place else. ❤️
Have stayed many times with no issues.Drove to this location specifically this evening. They have a large yard for parking have always welcome our petsTo our surprise upon arriving a new desk attendant insisted on a $100 deposit. In 9 months of doing business with Red Roof we have never been asked or charged a deposit. We have never had damage in the rooms we have rented either. Will NEVER do business at this location again. If traveling go up to Elyria Oh or Sandusky Ohio location they appreciate your business. This attendant wouldn’t even look to see we were regular customers at her establishment. Drive a little further you will be treated right.
This hotel is so dirty, as soon as you walk into the hall the smell of stale smoke hits you. The carpet is really gross and we had a difficult time opening the door to our room. The walls in the room were filthy. We ended up checking out and renting elsewhere. We lost money but we just couldn’t imagine staying a night at this place.
The air conditioner stopped working after 15 min. It just shut off. It was instantly hot again. But was the middle of the night and i didnt want to switch rooms.. Then I had to use just the fan. I was in 202 and more family in 204 said the same thing happened to them. It was too hot to sleep. Which is why I stayed here to sleep.
Comfortable beds. Mostly clean rooms. Stayed here for work, so I couldnt tell you if its a good deal. However, the week I stayed there I had no hot water. Sometimes it would be warm, but for only about a minute. So 1 minute showers was all I got, and it was still pretty cold. I definitely wouldnt recommend staying there.
I give it a 3.5 ⭐ close to a 4 tho. It was suitable, comfortable, and accessible for what our intensions were. Pictures on the site makes the rooms look nicer and more spacious than they actually are but for the location you can not expect much more I guess. If looking for a night away do not shy away from booking a room.
Positive: It was quiet Negative: The Restaurant was not open, the bar was not opened and because of a shortage of staff they were only cleaning and changing sheets every three days. We were there from Monday til Friday morning, sheets were never changed and towels only replaced once.
Not a very good experience but the cheapest in town. The TV did not work, refrigerator broke leaving our suitcase wet which did dry. Someone smoking weed leaving the aroma throughout the hallway and in our room. Hotel was quick to replace refrigerator. Front desk girl ignored me literally leaving me standing there wondering what was going on, all I wanted to do is check out. Overall not happy at all. They should have given their customers discounts due to no TV but they didnt. Red roof Inn is supposed to be moderately good but Americas best value inn is better than this place. I gave it a two because our bed was actually decent.
Been on the road for over 9 hours first motel we seen drove from NY husband went in and was told we could not check in she told him you just cant check in till later very rude I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn no explanation no nothing the person needs to learn manors. I will tell people not to stop or reserve a room here I thought they where there to make money not send people off who are dead tired and just needed a room.
Check in was fast and friendly. The rates were good and quiet hotel. Had a jacuzzi room that was large and clean. Downside was there was no cable tv that weekend. Management gave a discount for the inconvenience much appreciated along with the comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
Nice place to say. It looked a bit run down/sketchy from the outside but we decided to stay anyway. Inside looks like any red roof, room and bathroom were clean. Bed and pillows are comfy and lots of outlets in the room. Dogs stay for free and there’s a huge area outside for them to walk and do their business.
Hope it is better then it was 2 yrs ago. When my company rented us rooms there for what was meant to be 4 week stay. We stayed 4 nights.Between the dead body on the 2nd floor. The nasty rooms. To include broken window with 2 bullet holes in it. And the severe bed bug infestation and drug problems there. Can only hope when ramada dropped them they cleaned up a bit.
Dirty, dirty, smelly, gross!Breakfast is a joke. Gross. Cream cheese in a sketchy looking Tupperware container. Hallways smell terrible. Room is nice but the remainder of the hotel is terrible. Ok for a quick late night rendezvous but not much else. Stay away not worth the money.
Booked a room in advance, drove there and while checking in they tell me they have to cancel our stay because they’re having issues with the room keys. Great of them to let us drive all the way there. Also couldn’t find a room at another nearby hotel so we ended up having to go back home. Never again.
Rooms near parking lot noisy all night long. Many locals living here, partying like its an apartment building. Maids use an oil to clean room floors that made me sick, burnt my eyes and gave me a headache. Switched rooms but same problem. NEVER EVER WILL I COME HERE AGAIN. PLACE OUGHT TO BE SUED...If youvvalue rest, this is not the place to get it. 2 stars is for the staff, they were nice.
Paint chipping off walls Perrin the drain of the tub kept -dollar deposit for no reason said we were smoking in the room even though they had someone come down walk in the room and smell it to make sure that there was no smoking in the room do not recommend staying and I will never ever ever go back to a Red Roof Inn
Looking for a place for the night around 11 PM as we were on our way to Michigan for my mothers funeral. We were unable to call ahead for reservations as we left on the spur of the moment. Figured to drive as far as possible that eve and see where we ended up. Here we are and it wasnt until we pulled up to the front lobby doors that we saw the 8.5x11 letter size printed copy that said no vacancy!!! What ever happened to a sign out front with that info? How about posting on the website we searched to find this place while we were driving??? Not happy campers we wasted the time only to find it was basically closed!!! Well be sure to mark this place off limits as there appears to be communication issues!!!
I checked in with my disabled friend so we could be in the air conditioning and watch TV and relax together watch the try baseball and watch movies we were told wed have 54 channels we had six channels one of them was Spanish it was horrible we could not get any sports they kept saying that we would be getting cable at any time that the whole time we were there we only got six channels we had to leave the hotel every time the tribe was on and go spend money to restaurant to watch The Tribe play what a disappointment talk to the manager no refund no apology only six channels what a joke

2022-07-10Room was very clean and updated as well as roomy. The rest of the property was very old and in need of repair, updating and overall more attention to detail. Hallways and entry areas were very dirty. The outside of hotel is not inviting, like you are entering a juvenile detention center. The parking lot has been patched to the point it feels like your driving on the surface of the moon!

2022-03-02Staff was super friendly and very personable and although the room was pretty nice as well as the front desk area, you could definitely see the age of the building throughout the rest of the building. Overall not a bad place to stay if youre in a pinch and just need a room.

2022-06-28Negative: This location was atrocious. The overall building itself was in poor condition. Bad plaster drywall work. Public hairs all over the bathroom, toilet paper dispenser was falling out of the wall. Some sort of spatter on lamp shade. Overall it was very bad.

2022-03-06Positive: Clean; freshly decorated bedding; decent breakfast for the price. Negative: I dislike running $100 deposit for incidentals or damages that I will never incur.

2022-07-11Positive: That they allowed dogs. Negative: I didn¿t like that my tub had someone else¿s hair in it before I even used it, the sink had some hair in it, and part of the tub had rust.
