No staff to clean rooms. Front desk not answeringthe phone since they were busy doing laundry. Obtaining clean towels was a challenge. Breakfast option was a granola bar and fruit cup in a paper bag. The pool is still not open, however, price is still the same. Would not recommend staying here.
This was my second stay at this property and overall I find it to be a solid value for my needs.Upon arrival the lobby was fairly busy but I checked in quickly. The young woman at the desk couldn’t have been nicer. The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but more than adequate for an over night stay. I do like the hard wood floors. Much more appealing than dirty carpeting you will find at many hotels.
Confusing room service that is an 800 number that orders from a local place they refer to as the kitchen. Our order was completely wrong. Called to correct and was told that what we got was what they had. Then the rudely hung up on us. Too bad this reflects poorly on the hotel.
For the price, it cant beat! I rolled in without a reservation. I ended up in a Superior King room which was absolutely perfect for my needs!Im on a work trip and came in after an extremely log day (with more work to do). The rooms amenities are perfect for working. The large desk and its orientation facilitate a very comfortable work environment. The bed is comfy. The staff is friendly. The room is clean. My only complaint is that while it is well insulated from outside sound, I can easily hear sounds from my neighbors, hall, and folks above me.
Yes I been there two times and the staff members and housekeeping a very nice the room or clean need something looking into The kitchen buffet and the swimming pool why you cant eat a complementary breakfast and use the pool it like they dont what to be bother with it its always excuse when I book the room for my mothers birthday I was told that he had couple Mary breakfast and use of a swimming pool that was not so we left a day early we had to go to McDonalds for breakfast and Krogers for coffee from Starbucks they did refund $50 on my payment for my room am I deposits but if you check into there please make sure copyright breakfast is open in the swimming pool the ladies and made my reservation lied and I will say to her face she lied before that goes the place is super nice the staff is nice this is by ken Goff and yes I will go back when they get them two things fix
Nice place to stay. I stayed here for month during my schooling, the staff is super nice and friendly. If I needed anything they got it right away, cleaned my room almost every day made my bed and changed my towels and wash clothes daily. Made my stay a breeze ! Thanks to the staff and family that operate the hotel !
I asked for the pet discount they are running from May 1-May 31 at every Red Roof across the united states and elsewhere. 15% off it what it is to be they said the they do not have it. The desk clerk was nice but did not even look about savings. The cleaning staff was rude was rude and they lady in morning running the Continental breakfast was rude. The room was somewhat clean bedspread had black spots all over it. The shower curtain looked like it as pulled out of a overstuffed trash bag. There floor was dirty had gray socks on they turned black on bottom. They were cleaning rooms at 8:00 in morning talking loud that is what woke us up.
We were on a trip to Ohio and found this hotel the room set up is a little bit off you cant really see the TV from bed. The lady at the desk was nice. Was located on a main road so made it easy to get back on the road. Just was uncomfortable because whoever the people close to us were really loud and woke us up. Also was a little dissatisfied that I could not bring my breakfast to my room I was sick and did not want to be around people. Also there were dried boogers on the shower curtain kinda killed the shower. It was ok definitely wouldnt stay at the chain again.
The hotel is very small and absolutely nothing fancy but you get what you pay for. Its inexpensive as a trade off for the smokey/cleaning product smelling room, comforter with cigarette burns, and sheets with stains. The fake wood floors are a bit odd as well. Decent TV, decent shower. Pool the size of a hot tub. Its cheap.
The rooms are very nice! Its nice they offer a cash pay policy with a $100 cash deposit that is returned to you at check out. I gave 4 stars because we asked for a late checkout which is only an hour later than the 11am checkout time. But we asked in advance and the front desk started calling and housekeeping started knocking at 11am and even after being reminded of late check out they continued every 15 minutes until 12. Very aggregating. But overall i would definitely recommend this hotel. Lots of food and shops for necessities and a couple bars in walking distance. As well as the Casino in a quick uber ride or its right on the bus line. Will stay again and recommend to my friends.
Efficient check-in and checkout process. Parking is a little tight when the hotel is full though. Only gave 4 stars because i had to prop my luggage against the window to keep the curtains closed. Also notice that they require a $100 cash deposit. You get it back when you checkout but still....
This is the WORST MOTEL IN COLUMBUS the owners are rude and VERY DISRESPECTFUL..this place is dirty ,roaches ,ciggerette smoke( STRONGLY) weed reaks through out the halls ..the owners wife is .the biggest problem there she is very arrogant and disrespectful ....the carpet is from the 70s ..I wouldnt let my dog stay there place should be turn down and a real hotel erected with people who are respectful ..👎
I stayed here in Saturday May 26th and the rooms were clean and the service was great! We spent about 30 mins in the pool as well. Very clean also! I booked the room of expedia and payed about $95 for a double queen room. The entire hotel is smoke free which is awesome! They had breakfast is the morning, nothing spectacular but a good bagel was worth getting up for! I will stay again if Im in the area! Oh! And its directly off the highway so it was very convenient as well!
From when i pulled up to front, on a cross country motorcycle trip, with street and close by highway was noisy outside. I got inside, and was just as noisy. A woman yelling at her kids, and several people in lobby just sitting around. Should have been warned from that.Registered and went to room down the hall. Nice room, so I thought Id stay to get good sleep before getting on the road early next morning.Ended up being a bad idea.A guy with a dog in room next door. Dog barked all night at any noise in that end of the hotel.Around 2am I heard what I thought was a loud conversation outside my room. Was guy in room on the other side with TV turned up loud. Room phone was busy. Called front desk to talk to room 115. Half-hour later, no change.Threw on clothes and went to front desk. Woman there said the TV didnt sound too bad to here.I knocked on door and guy turned TV down.Got very little sleep. Woke up, put bags together to bring back to bike. Small lobby was crowded. Coffee was bitter.I left tired and regretting I stayed. Will NEVER stay at Red Roof Inn again,
The overall hotel experience was alright. When we entered the room we stayed in, it had a funny humid smell to it. The AC didnt really function on low mode (even though it was a setting option). Our room had lots of mirrors for those of you that like to take selfies. The room was pretty ample and a bit spacious. The free breakfast really wasnt anything great (IE: cereal, coffee, some bagels, muffins, toast, and a few apples. Dont expect any bacon and eggs). The wifi was pretty good, not the fastest, but it worked well enough. The hallways and a few of the other guests I saw there had a bit of sketchy vibe, but other guests looked average. The one front desk attending seemed very nice and helpful. 3 pillows on every bed. Our room had 2 queen sized beds with 3 fluffy pillows. Lighting was pretty good.
No where on there site do they ask to talk about there $100 deposit. Only when we get there tired and wiped out from a day of driving do we get told that they want $100 or we cant get our room we reserved until we put the cash in there hands. We asked why? And were told its in case we trash the room. So we had to go out and hunt down a ATM. The next morning they did give us the cash back. But they didnt check our room making the whole cash on hand thing weird, shady and pointless. There was garbage in the hall and on the elevator. We left for 6 hours came back and it was still on the elevator and in the halls. The whole place had a strange smell that was reminiscent of a hanstercage. The room itself was fine other then the fact that the AC was set to shut off after a hour. So the room never really got anywhere near cold. The guy at checkout was polite unfortunately it was not enough to make up for the BS we had to deal with the night before. We have stayed any many red roof hotels and have never had an experience like this one.Alittle bit of housekeeping and a warning about the $100 would have prompted me to give them a better review. As it is the only thing keeping me from giving this one star is that there wasnt a rat running rampant in the room.
Rooms were as expected, water temperature was great, I love hot showers and it was actually too hit for me all the way up! That doesnt happen. I didnt use the TV at all, wifi was fine, only really big complaint was breakfast. Also the parking situation leaves quite a bit to be desired.
We booked 2 nights. My wife was in a power wheelchair, The staff never offered an ADA equipped room, even if it was more $ we would have considered it. We went on the elevator to our room, my wife looked at the bathroom and said, this is not going to workwe went back to the desk, and asked if she had an ADA equipped room, at first she said she did not know if she could convert our 2 day reservation. she checked something, and said she could switch our room. The room was nice, clean, and the bathroom was large, with a tub bench and grab rails, and adjustable shower wand,(although the wand was loose, constantly sliding down, my wife said the grab bars were in the wrong position. The king size bed was very uncomfortable, like a blanket on concrete. The rate was reasonable. Was disapointed there were no waffles.
It is decent for what it is. If youre not familiar with Columbus, its about 13 miles from downtown. About a 15-20 minute ride on rideshare. Its located in a blue collar area. You could classify it as low income to middle class. Hard to gauge since Im not from Ohio. I saw what could have been some low income housing nearby behind the waffle house.I ate at that waffle house, the folks there had a range of looks from modern rapper, small family to farm-raised war vet grandpa to mechanics. They were all fine, nothing alarming from any contingent.Back to the hotel:Folks are the front desk are helpful, cordial. This despite putting out what appeared to be small fires via complaints or adjustments from guests. To be fair, the guests seemed like they would be problematic anywhere. But I didnt pay close attention. The location appears to be convenient for ride share. I had Uber eats delivered as well without issue. The room itself had decent space for the price. Aside from a previous guests soup and soda in the fridge, the place was clean.I choose a non-smoking area but the scent of marijuana was strong in an adjacent room--so strong that I thought my room may have had that smell in the sheets. On closer inspection, my sheets and pillows were fine but there was a cigarette burn on the comforter. It wasnt as quiet as Id like but for a 2 star hotel, I didnt have high expectations. I needed it to be clean, I needed ride-sharing to be simple. It met that standard.Had to turn up the TV to drown out some hallway chatter at times but not for the entire stay or evening.I saw an indoor pool, it is very small but by comparison the Marriott downtown is nearly 4 times the price and theirs is smaller.I cant be sure of the hygiene for the pool. It didnt look to be as clean as it could be but I didnt give it close examination. At 25 degrees last night they may not anticipate swimming agendas. They serve a continental breakfast. But thats a generous title. There was a waffle maker, a fridge with yogurt and milk for the single serve cereal on offer, some apples, slices of bread that appeared to be out of a bargain brand bag and some mini donuts.Again, for this price, this is fine. But be sure to calibrate your expectations accordingly.
It is terrible I really needed 2 nights until my 0lwce was ready they told me over phone there was no deposit and now when I get there the deposit is more than the room and I couldnt feed my grandchild because they took every dime I had . She looked at me and must have assumed I didnt have a lot of money and took what I had left
Really gone down hill since last year. Needs walls cleaned. Bed were very comfy. All sheets had ripes of stains. Blanks in two room with cigarette burn holes but they claim to be 100% smoke free hotel. You cam smell the smoke in the hallways, strong. Of our two rooms on the third floor, one smelt like a long time smokers apartment. Front desk offered to move us but we had an adjoining room we did not was to give up so we covered up with air freshener the best we could. Do not stay here hoping for fresh smoke free room. The other reviews about noisy guest are not exaggerated. All night long there were loud yelling in the halls slammimg doors. We stated two night and we were woken up multiple times each night. Others were guessing the loud people are drunk casino patrons coming back to hotel after a night of gambling.Breakfast had very basic stuff. Bannana, apples (on rotten one in the basket first morning) coffee, tea, juice machine, cold cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs in bulk (not touching those because who knows how many people touched them or when they were put out) yogurt. Fine for quick breakfast.
Not bad for the price, construction was right outside the hotel and we didnt hear anything. pool looked cloudy and hairy our 3 day stay close to alot of things. could have had more options for breakfast but not bad at all, after a certain time they dont have access to extra covers and sheets so you better get them early I would stay again
Great price, pretty basic hotel but overall great experience. Free WiFi, indoor pool, continental breakfast. One note, in case this helps anyone: it says online that they offer free rentals of infant cribs, but this is NOT true. Also, if you pay with anything other than a credit card, you have to make a $100 cash security deposit to get your key (returned at checkout if no room damage).
Great price, clean hotel. Rooms were adequate (a bit small but also very clean). The location of the hotel is not in the greatest area of a Columbus, but it situated right next to on and off ramps of major beltway around Columbus. The Casino is near by and there is a convenient store across the street, although a bit difficult to get to with traffic and there is a Jersey barrier in front of the hotel so you can only turn left out of the hotel. Parking is very limited also. Free breakfast is not Extensive, but its free. The pool was very small and the chlorine smell was overwhelming and burning to then eyes just upon entering pool area. Staff was accommodating. For the price Id stay here again.
Was there and was very disappointed. Looks like a 5 star hotel but it not. The rooms are not very clean . Was told that my whole family could not go swimming because it was to many people the only ones that could was the ones registered to the room. Had my debit card but still had to go to bank and withdrawal a 100 cash deposit. Then my little kids went swimming with me and my son is 5 and it in a enclosed door and they asked him to calm down anf not be loud at all when he was barely even making noise. I though you were sippose to have fun in a pool exspecially if you were a kid. The prices were ridiculous the vending machines was 1.00 for a can of pop not even a bottle. Snacks were a 1.25 for a candy bar. Was very unsatisfied with this trip.
Our group had two rooms during our stay at this hotel. One of the rooms had a cockroach in it. We had to change rooms for half of the group because the door to the room (318) did not latch and could be pushed open with little effort and no key. The new room we were given had urine on the sheets and bedbugs.Stay anywhere else.
Room looked pretty nice and clean at first. Under closer inspection, there are areas that look like theyve never been cleaned. There were pieces of cereal on the chair. Bed was very stiff, door latch didnt line up well to lock, had to pull the handle up... Food in Continental breakfast was stale.
Horrible the rooms were very nice the pool is. Small. But manageable ok here was my problem well we got into there then by morning time we went down. To get breakfast and brought the plate back up n there was roaches waiting for there breakfast also not cool with me we checked out asap and had to shake literally everything out before I didnt bring them Ill be dam if I live with them
Very pleased with the nice clean rooms. Only complaint would be another occupant on the third floor where loud and cops got called but the front desk called police and the situation was handled. The next morning they offered us a later check out and gave us a gift card for a lunch on them for all the trouble. Excellent service great place to stay our pets were welcomed without extra charge I highly recommend this hotel!
Terrible customer service. No understanding by owner. I booked the room through Expedia and the browser defaulted to the weekend after I was needing the room. I made the adjustment and triple checked the dates, but in price checking other sites and refreshing the page it must have defaulted back to the weekend after again. When I explained the problem to the owner figuring a bit of compassion all I got was a quick hand wave and her telling me I would have to pay for the room again and get my refund through Expedia knowing well that they had issued a no refund policy with the site. She honestly couldnt just change the date in the computer and lift the reserve on Expedia. 0 compassion for a traveling family, and no decency in site. Stay elsewhere if you have a contusions.
If i could give them 0 stars i would, This place is definitely run by disrespectful people who caden nothing about their customers. Plus, every 5 seconds there is a problem within our hotel. First it was the a/c not working, second the power went out, and lastly our door wouldn’t lock. Never spending money here again.
Rooms are to small, beds are very uncomfortable. Pool is too small and the chlorine smell is overwhelming. The free breakfast is a joke. When any of the breakfast stuff runs out, the staff doesnt fill it back up. They fill up plates that doesnt even need to be filled. I will never ever stay at this place again. Total thumbs down
Very pleased with the renovations made to this hotel... very sleek and clean!!! The front desk staff could be a little more inviting than they were but maybe she was just having a bad day.... Im sure there are more pleasant people looking for a job! But overall I am impressed with the upgrade!!!
My primary issues with this location were that I didnt feel the cost was commensurate with the benefits, as well as the misadvertised breakfast, thats actually nothing more than a few carb selections, coffee, water, and whatever rotten fruit of the day is available! Additionally, apparently as a cost saving measure, per the front desk, they unplug the room refrigerators, yet this information isnt discovered until you attempt to retrieve your food for reheating and its Allllllll warm or liquified! Furthermore, the unofficial courtesy officer who is known by management, yet allowed to live on the premises in his van, needs identification or a uniform of some type, which identifies him as an honorary employee or something, because he is slightly stalkerish and frightening, and I dont scare easily! In all honesty, the best part of the supposed mini-vacay was its proximity to a few of my favorite restaurants, and the bed, which was super comfy!
I just had the weirdest experience with this hotel at4530 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43228I spent the night there last in room 116The room was fine, everything seemed fine until thismorning after leaving I got a call from the deskaccusing me of stealing a PILLOW!!!!I tried and tried to reassure her that I have no need for a plain red roof pillow! She said shes going to charge me $50 extra! That is totally unacceptable- the ONLY thing we took wasthe white disposable laundry bag that we put our dirty clothes in.She said housekeeping verified there was 4 pillows and now theres 3Are you freaking kidding me? Isnt it possible housekeepingmade a mistake rather than accuse a customer of stealing a PILLOW????Ugh , Im furious
The rooms are nice and clean but the old white lady with the grey hair is nasty. She dont use gloves when dealing with the breakfast. She put bread out that had mode on it. She is not friendly at all, and she acts like you are taking food from her kitchen when you ask to full up the breakfast bar, like she supposed too until 9am.
Hotel was nice and very clean but the staff was horrible. I have a special needs grandson who was discrimated against and not allowed in the pool by the night time counter girl. The staff needs educated that all guest are not the average normal person. Autism is not a disease its a disability!!!
Reserved a jacuzzi suite. was a little pricey for a sunday night, but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival! room was clean and spacious and well stocked. the whirlpool was large and clean. the only complaint i would have is that the whirlpool was extremely loud when the jets came on. also, we were on second floor and the ice machine was on the first floor at the other end. rather inconvenient. otherwise,,,STAY HERE!
Horrible! Manager refused to let my daughter and grandkids come swim with Grandma at my hotel. He informed it sends a bad message to residents of Columbus that they can come and rent rooms to use the amenities! Isnt that what youre in business to do? The taste it leaves is the WORST guest experience at a Red Roof Inn. I travel a lot, go to the Westerville location, they make families feel appreciated and welcome! Not here.
When we arrived I had changed my mind and needed 2 queen beds so me and my husband could both stretch out and get some good rest as that is what this trip was all about, the front desk lady helped me and got us in a nice room which was clean and very nice, the breakfast was very basic waffles, boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels juice coffee and tea , the location is great right by the highway (it is hard to get out of hotel parking lot during rush hour) but surrounded by places to eat and the casino Hollywood is only 2 minutes away. If we ever have a need to spend the night in Columbus again we would definitely revisit.
Our stay here was bad from the beginning right to the end. 3pm on a Friday afternoon, there was not a single room ready. Come back in a few hours. The hotel manager forced me to give a $100 cash deposit. Right on the counter stated 15% hold on your CC. That didnt matter apparently. You leave cash or you dont stay. Ive stayed at many Red Roof Inns while traveling and never experienced this. Including the day after we stayed at a Red Roof in Nashville, didnt exepice this. We do all of our bookings the same why every time. Also not to mention the bedding had mutlplie cigarette burns. The franchise should really look into this specific owner and how they are representing the Red Roof Franchise.
I used to work here n from my experience its a pick n choose who u want to stay. Manager named dee always turned down black families n when they would walk out she say I DNT want people like tht staying here which offended me cause I have mixed children n a Black husband. There roaches near the coffee machine in the lobby long story short the people tht work there have bad service an I will never stay there again after ik how they run there business
I made reservations about 6 weeks ago. When we got there I tried to use cash and was told that there would be a 50 dollar deposit if I was paying with cash so I used my debit. I went to the room to give it a once over before bringing in my things. Thank God I did because I found BED BUGS EVERYWHERE. I took 3 live ones to the front desk with me a demanded a refund and was told that I wouldnt be able to get my mom ey for 3 to 5 days or longer because I had chosen to use my debit card. I asked the receptionist about the bed bugs and she explained that they hadnt been a really big problem......what? 1 bug is a problem.
Staff was friendly. Room seemed clean, but it smelled very strongly of cleaning products. You could smell cigarette smoke mixed in with it. Smelled like a gas station bathroom. There were cigarette burns in the comforter, and stains on the sheets, pillows, bed skirt, and towels.
Red Roof Inns have come a long way in recent years. This place was on par with basic Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn of the past. Looks like the place was recently remodeled. Only problem was a few places that look like were skipped while cleaning. I would stay here again.
The manager was not friendly plus the room on the acc its dirty and there is Spider web and the front desk in the first time they gonna be nice and then when u ask sum they gonna say no everything you and plus they make the same food everytime and this dude came up to me and said thats enough your not getting food anymore
AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Upon arriving waited at the front desk a full five minutes looking for someone to check us in- after searching I finally found someone who was obviously aggravated at his job. We were early to arrive and I ask if we could hang out until check in- he was agitated and just looked at me and yelled WHERE! Room smelled awful upon entering- like musty. Stains on sheets. The shower head was covered in mildew. One lamp wasnot working- blow dryer broken. Just awful.
My family just stayed there...when we entered the room and turned on the lite a roach ran across the desk...dirty...wet towels hung in the bath room...the pool..Omg..the water was clean..but the sides were disgusting...disappointing..We showed this all to the girl on duty..all she could could do was was given offer another room...this was Nov.14 2016

2022-02-27Got a room with a hot tub for my birthday... There was no smoking... Yet my blanket and curtain both had burn holes from a profits stay. The complimentary breakfast was kinda lacking too. Especially the milk that I dont know who touched it or if anyone put something in it but I wasnt about to find out. I went to take a bubble bath before I left and realized there was something gross on the shower curtain and a hair (that didnt belong to me) in the bathtub... That was enough I checked out early and was home by 9am.

2022-04-28The owners were horrible to me. I did laundry and the dryer didnt work so I asked for my money back and was denied. Also I paid for two nights and was charged for one and they kept the rest of the money as a deposit even though I had a cash deposit and they said I smoked in the room. Not true at all.

2022-07-11Staff was awful and very rude, not to mention the multiple people in the parkingLot shooting up, which means we seen needles every where around the lot. Rooms was not very cleaned but you pay for what you get I guess especially here.

2022-01-10If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. Stayed at this hotel for 4 days, 12/28-1/1, and by far had the most unpleasant stay ever. I booked thru Priceline because it was cheaper. When I went to check in, the front desk receptionist tried to accuse me of credit card fraud. (Neither one of us knew that 3rd party sites pay with their own company card), but Such is life, we moved passed that issue…During the course of my stay, I noticed a bed bug in my room. Took a picture of it, and was moved to another room without question. I moved to the next room and that room also had bedbugs. At this point I want some type of accommodation because the hotel is infested and I also had to pay a $100 to even stay. Hotel management and Priceline agreed to partially refund me for my stay…I checked out on 1/1, it is 1/10 and I still have no refund on my security deposit or my partial refund for the stay. I call the hotel to ask about my refund and they tell me they refunded Priceline which was NOT the original card that the reservation had even been placed under. DO NOT STAY HERE, THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES AND ARE WILLING TO ROB YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY TO MAKE THEMSELVES LOOK GOOD!

2022-06-19Positive: It was really clean and up to date honestly it was a better cleaner room than places ive paid alot more for Negative: Only thing i didnt like was i was leaving early and every staff member asked if i was checking out they even kept knocking on the door to ask to the point where i asked if there was a problem i was even paid for the night

2021-08-16Nice staff and a plus having a pool. I was not overly impressed by the cleanliness of the place. The pool states heated but it either wasnt working or not adjusted properly. Also a plus being able to bring my furbaby. Thought it was extremely odd that at check in they gave us a key to a lower level room then once I checked it out and my husband went to pay they said they room had been reassigned to someone else.

2022-04-16Stayed over for business, the room was thoroughly clean and tidy. A short drive or walk to about anything you would need.

2022-06-26The staff is rude and when getting coffee downstairs with the breakfast that comes with the room, they didnt want to give any sugar or creamers.
