We had a two fold experience with R&B in short order. We returned from vacation to find out that our 25 year old A/C had finally given up the ghost. Got an estimate from R&B for a new furnace and a/c unit and scheduled them for a couple of days later (couple of days at our request, as we had unchangeable plans). Mike Bowling worked with me on what we needed to purchase and scheduling the install. He said that the installation could possibly run into a second day, but that wed have a/c by the end of the first day.They arrived as promised, at 7:00 AM, started the demo, had the old one out and the new installed and running by 3:30 PM. Couldnt have been faster, more efficient, or more professional.At the same time, we had been planning to buy a new refrigerator. I asked Mike (see above) who I should talk to, he said he could help me. He told me that the model we wanted was going on sale the next day, so that saved us $100, and because of purchasing the furnace/ac, he waived the delivery and setup charges. The installers were right on time and this was not an easy install and they went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy with the product and the service before they left.Weve bought from Recker before, but these two purchases just reinforced our belief that this is a good company that cares about their customers happiness with their product and service.
Had to replace my air conditioner last week. With Recker and Boerger, I was able to get a quick online quote and sales team followed up email the next. They gave honest, professional advice on which unit to pick. I took a few days to decide but there was no pressure from them. Their quote was the lowest and I highly recommend them! Will definitely check them out for my future appliance needs too.

Just had an incredibly bad experience with the representatives over the phone . I was calling on behalf of my elderly father who has done business in the past with the co. What I was met with was unnecessary sarcasm and no help for a previous and now former customer. After telling my dad about my experience he said simply “my money will spend elsewhere” .
Fastest and easiest appliance shopping I’ve ever done! John was professional and very helpful. I was able to get my appliances delivered and installed the very next day. Thanks Juan for effectively installing and attention to detail. Both gentlemen were professional and careful to remove all trash before leaving. Highly recommend!
We got prompt attention when our AC quit cooling on a Saturday late afternoon. Although they were booked heavily, they gave us suggestions about trying to cool our house until the could get here. Ryan, the installer was excellent and completed the job efficiently. Our family has been using Recker and Boerger for 40+ years and we highly recommend this company for all your HVAC needs.
This is the second HVAC system that they have installed for me. The first one was 15 years ago. I got several estimates from various contractors and R&B was by far the best with the same or better warranty than the other contractors. They installation went well. They were on time and protected my hardwood floors. Completed work in one day. It is good to have my A?C back on.
We recently purchased and had installed 2 new AC units for our house through Recker and Boerger. A family friend who is in the HVAC business highly recommended R&B and now I know why. They gave us an honest fair quote...no gimmicks no specials, no surprises. The day they installed the units it was very hot but they were extremely professional, polite, showed up on time, and worked hard to complete the project from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm that day. Highly recommend and would use them in the future.
We needed a new heat pump for our dual fuel system. They explained exactly what we needed, did not pressure us into more, and made sure we optimized our efficiency without wasting money. Although they happened to be the best price, we chose them over 5 others for their knowledge, reputation, and great labor warranty. We made the right choice! Very professional installation with no trace left behind. Advice: Dont waste your money on an overpriced name brand that advertises all day. Websites confirm what R&B told us - most brands use the same parts, and all have 10 year parts warranty. The installer matters the most!
This company has their act together. We have used them for unexpected water heater and furnace issues, both times choosing them because they were responsive, straightforward, and prepared to do the necessary work within 24 hours. Other companies we called fell short in all three of these areas. Prices were reasonable, especially given the quick turnaround. Responsiveness to questions immediately after the job was also top notch.
Recker & Boerger installed both a 14 SEER A/C and a 96% eff. furnace in my home to replace my original units that were old. I obtained 4 quotes and found R&B to be the best value when considering both initial cost of installation and warranty. I appreciate that the technicians are R&B employees vs. contracted out. They were prompt and professional when installing the units as well as the new thermostat, actually completed it in less time then they estimated and were thorough at cleaning up. I recommend them for your HVAC needs.
Service didnt knock me out, frankly. Very long on-hold time. Gave up twice before just leaving a message. Couple hours later, I got a call-back. Next avail appointment was more than 24 hours away. This was a furnace outage in an elderly persons home, someone who had just undergone surgery.By contrast, I also called Duke Energy. Answered the phone right away. The person on the other end was bright and knowledgeable. They werent sure they could fix it, but they sent someone out within 2 hours. Sadly, they werent able to do the repairOn the plus side, the guy they sent was quick and thorough. I guess once you get through the archaic system they have, the techs are worth it?
After limping my old HVAC system through the last 6 years it finally gave up the ghost. I called on Wednesday and had my new system installed the very next day. The team came in and covered the floors removed the old system, put in the new and didn’t leave a trace after they cleaned up. The sales and finance process was quick and easy. It was a great experience all around.
The technicians were knowledgeable, super friendly and fun to talk to. They understood my sarcasm and banter. They arrived early (unheard of) and stayed until I was happy. The biggest upside to my ac and furnace replacement? THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LESS than anyone could come close to. All done in a timely manner and professionally. Cleaned up after themselves and everything up to code. Couldnt be happier (unless it was free).Thanks Recker and Boerger!
We have just had a very disappointing experience with Recker and Boerger. On July 25th we ordered a dishwasher and were told that it would be installed August 1. Also that we would get calls setting up the install time. Since we did not receive the calls we called them and were told that we had misunderstood the delivery date. Not true. Both my wife and I were there and heard the same date. The invoice actually shows the Delivery Date as 7/25. After speaking with the Store Manager we were told a completely different story and that the dishwasher had never been ordered from the manufacturer. Bottom line we we have been lied to by Recker and Boerger.Please look else where for a reliable appliance store.
We have done 2 houses with appliances from here. Have always been happy with them -even years later. They stock great products that I’m happy with even 8 years later! From Sales to Delivery it is obvious this place is staffed by people who care about their job.Totally recommend!
I have purchased a washer and dryer as well as an air conditioner this year. I am well satisfied with both purchases. My air conditioner died suddenly. Recker and Boerger responded the same day that I called and installed a new unit within 3 days. I am well pleased and I recommend Recker and Boerger.
BEWARE of the little things.Spent $3300 on a new central AC unit installed. Went with this company because the guy on the phone seemed very nice and they could get me in, in 3 days. Had gotten a quote from Thomas & Galbraith for less than $100 more which included a better efficiency unit and a new digital thermostat. I failed to ask about that in the quote from Recker and Boerger because I was so frustrated with shopping around and they seemed genuine and quick and talked down about T&Gs ways. The guy who installed my unit said the thermostat was not included but since it would be $150 hed see if he had an extra in his van for free, he did not but said hed have a fellow coworker bring one out. That of course did not happen so I called and they were not accomadating AT ALL. They said $150 would be the discounted price and they do not include thermostats with AC installs and I would have been told that on the phone but conveniently their calls are not recorded. I was not told I would be getting a lower efficiency AC or that a thermostat was not included or I would have went with T&G for less than $100 more. BEWARE before forking over $3300, that you ask every question you need and verify what is and isnt included. You would think going with a reputable company and spending this much money would be worth it but NOT.
Sales was fantastic. Mark Wolf helped us to determine the right appliances. Service, however, not good. There was an issue with delivery... that is understandable, however, the lack of communication is not. Delivery window was missed without a call or text. Delivery did not occur on the day promised. When at 5:30 we finally got a call, delivery was promised before noon the next day. Then a text for a later time without apologies or explanations.I left a voicemail which has still not been returned.This is the LAST time I spend money with this company.Maria Mason
Always have bought ALL my appliances, 2 furnaces at different times, hot water heater and 2 central air conditioner for different times and window air units before central air and NEVER had a problem. The delivery men were always great, well mannered and much more nothing like the DO NOT CARE COMPETITORS. Recker & Boerger HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My family and friends only buy from there now. Be smart you want comfort then go to the COMFORT ZONE!
The truck park opposite a parked car and blocked the street. I waited 10 minutes then honked the horn. The owner of the car had to come and moved their car. Because the two R & B employees were not helpful. They could have moved the truck. They did not need to park their opposite a park car. There was plenty on parking space on the other side of the customer’s driveway.Their advice to me - There is no problem! Sure just knock off my side mirror or that of the other car.Plate number PJN2029.
Our entire experience with Recker and Boerger was a pleasure! Getting rid of our old electric furnace and air conditioning system and switching to a heat pump/air handler was done very quickly and efficiently. Once we made the decision the time from our quote to the install was just a matter of days, very impressive. We would most definitely refer others to Recker and Boerger. Thank you!
I bought a washer and dryer and they were missing the hoses, cords and all hardware for instillation. Apparently you only get the complete washer and dryer if you pay an additional $39.99 for “instillation”I assumed when I paid $1000 for an appliance it would include a cord so you can plug it in and run it. But apparently you have to go buy and install your own cord somewhere else if you buy an appliance from Recker and Boerger.
Local white goods store, great pricing. Their bargain and scratch and dent offerings are great value for money. Bought my kitchen appliances from them, They also do HVAC -- Goodman a/c and furnaces and installed Goodman furnace in my house. Problem free, well installed with great installers
Our hot water heater went out on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. A salesman came out to fill out paperwork for a Monday delivery/install, and told me that I could have a morning appointment so that I did not miss work in the evening. No one ever showed up on Monday, so I was forced to move the appointment until the next day when they had not yet arrived by 3pm (when I needed to leave for work). I once again requested a morning appointment for the next day, and the salesman said it would not be an issue. On Tuesday, I got a call around 3pm that day saying I was the next stop, but then it was 6pm and no one had showed up yet. They had accidentally skipped me, and to not throw off every other appointment, they decided to bump me to the end of their list...without even calling to tell me. So at nearly 6:30pm two gentleman came with the wrong water heater. It physically could not fit in the space it needed to go. I guess the salesman evidently didnt look/measure the space. The install men called the store to see if a water heater, that was the correct size, was at their warehouse, so that it could be installed the next day. However, the store told us they couldnt fit us in their schedule on Wednesday, and with the holiday, the soonest they could install it was the Monday after Thanksgiving. When I asked if they really, honestly, expected us to be okay with having no hot water for over a week (and over the Thanksgiving holiday no less), they said yeah, basically. I also found out that a computer makes the schedule for the deliveries, and there is no way to request appointments for certain times of the day. So the salesman lied, twice, about their ability to give us a morning appointment. I asked for the entire thing to be canceled then and there, and I will never be using any of their services again.
Been dealing with R&B for over 40 years. For this residence, they have replaced the water tank (28 years old), central A/C (32 years old) and furnace (34 years old) - but not all at the same time. Technicians worked efficiently and effectively. Explained in great detail what is needed to keep they system(s) running properly. Cleaned up after themselves & left the area as clean, if not cleaner, than found. You can probably find lower cost units out there: R&B isnt the least expensive, nor are they the most expensive. Their service is their best selling point. At our ages, we probably wont be doing any major system replacement again, but if we must, R&B will be the 1st vendor we all.
We have been using Recker and Boerger now for many years. They service the HVAC on all of our rentals as well as provide new HVAC when we purchase homes to resell. If you need a great price on appliances, we get all our kitchen appliances thru them. We shop the Beechmont store and Eric and Hank are the best
We are family owned and operated, and with our name on the business, we make customer service our top priority.^^^We were faced with indifference, not my problem, refusal to listen, no remedy and a refusal to quote replacing our unit (s) that they installed. Smart customers are not their business. Every company faces challenging customers, and we are definitely well informed, want to compare quotes and expect a high level of post purchase trust. We are also VERY loyal. 10 years of history with this company and $10,000+ invested in BOTH HVAC and APPLIANCES, and they were rude and condescending. Its not surprising the leading brands of manufacturers of HVAC products dont use Recker and Boerger as a licensed dealer.
Bought LG refrigerator with help of Heinz.The delivery crew messed up the setup, making the freezers door not being able to close tightly. The kitchen moisture sneaked in and got frozen in the freezer chamber, making the freezer useless. The dealer provided a wrong area code 512, instead of 513 to the LG technician, making the service impossible for two weeks. The manager is the most rude person in the world.
The team from Recker and Boerger were very professional when installing our new furnace and air conditioning unit. Travis was very helpful explaining the process required for replacing the furnace unit in the ceiling of our laundry room. A crane was necessary to lift the new A/C unit on the roof. R&B managed all steps necessary to insure a smooth installation. Very happy with the results.
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! This has been an awful experience! 13 months ago, our water heater sprung a leak. It was over 12 years old, and didnt have any issues until then.I called Recker and Boerger to get a replacement, and decided that I wanted a tankless water heater. The sales person told me that going tankless would end up not being worth the money in the long run because I would have to have it maintained every year and that would cost $100+. Instead, he recommended that I get a standard water heater (with the tank) because it has a 6 year warranty and would be a fraction of the cost.Now, 13 months later (to the day), we dont have hot water again. The water heater that they sold me has a cheap, unreliable Honeywell Gas Control Thermostat on it. It has been known to fail many times within 2 years. Recker and Boerger now wants to charge me a 2 hour labor charge to replace it, on top of an $85 truck and trip charge.So now, 13 months after spending nearly $700 to replace the water heater, now they are wanting nearly $300 to come out and fix it. PLEASE, IF YOU NEED A NEW WATER HEATER, CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!
Recker and Berger came to my house to install a new dish washer and did something to my electrical line they clam it was out before they came. But now my bathroom lite is out as well as the bathroom fan and they were working before they came. They will not take responsible for there actions. Now I have to hire a electrinos as well. A man that came to work on my central air called them wreck them and burn them. I should have listened.
False advertising, and additional changes that are outrageous. 79 dollar coupon for a cleaning I see it says more for oil so Im expecting 50 at worst 100 more cause it has an oil filter. They say 250 for that furnace so 170 additional charges. I bring that up and the rude person on the phone just repeats the price not explanation nothing. Service of your company is lacking and Im sure you dont care and wont check but I will not tell anyone to visit this company or ask for service anymore.
Sales was fine, nothing special good or bad. Delivery on the other hand..... Had two guys delivery a stove and dishwasher, both were pretty clueless and tracked a bunch of dirt into the house all over the place. If I wanted dirty and clueless then Id have done it myself and saved some money.
Bought a new stainless steel GE refrigerator that was discounted because it was last years model and was at a different store. When it was delivered the 2 guys that delivered it asked If I knew that the doors had some dents near the bottom? I explained to them that my discount was supposed to be a result of last years model, not because it was scratch and dent. They delivered it and a week later GE showed up and put two brand new doors on it.I have been buying from this company for 30 years and they always stood behind the product they sell!
The furnace seems to be working well, but had an issue with my hot water heater following the furnace installation. A humidifier was installed, and the wire on the water heater was unplugged. It was not plugged back in following the installation and two days later I had no hot water. I placed a call to the technician that diagnosed the problem with the furnace and received no call back. I resolved the water heater problem myself by plugging the wire back in, but frustrated I had no hot water and disappointed I never received a follow-up call regarding the hot water heater.
I went with my mom who is in search of a dish washer in the color bisque. When arriving I asked the sales man if the dishwashers on the back wall were the only ones they had. He said “basically”. Ok. That’s fine. My mom told him what she was in search of and that my aunt had told her it’s coming back into style from what she heard. He replied “she must be on crack”. I had my newborn daughter and 3 year old daughter with us. Upon leaving the store as they didn’t have what we were in search of my 3 year old told us while getting into the car “I’m not on crack”. Kids are sponges and I didn’t appreciate the lack of help and the lack of professionalism, it’s really disappointing they didn’t have what we were looking for but to also say something so inappropriate is just repulsive. I’ll go elsewhere.
Giving a thumbs up to Allen for Recker and Boerger Super Service on our Home Air Conditioner. Needed immediate attention with an A/C issue and within 24 hours Allen had fixed the problem and we were back to a comfortable living environment. Recker and Boerger is worth the call

2022-05-30In May 2022 I called the company for service for my furnace and AC in order to take advantage of a $79 special charge. I explained that I was not having any problems with the unit, but since we are elderly, I wanted to make sure I have no problems with my AC this Summer. The service man Mike arrived and after examining the unit explained the charge would be $395. (Note: the equipment was 4 years old and purchased from them as were many other appliances in our home)He did not explain exactly what the charges would cover. I complained about the charge because we were not having any problems with our AC. He said that he needed to go to the hardware store to replace his supply of free-on. When he returned he said that he spoke with someone at R&B and would reduce the charge to $295.The next day we discovered our AC was not working. The service man they sent, Josh, examined the unit and discovered there was a hole in the coil with a $1600 service charge to replace it. When doing just that he found a small nail that could have caused the problem. It is a mystery of the origin of that nail.I am a very dissatisfied man and I would like to inform customers that you may be charged more than the price quoted to you. Because of many doubts I will never use this company again.-VR

2022-05-15Needed to get estimate on whole new system in my house. Had 3 estimates and then I called Alan ,after a look at a few pictures I sent him he quoted me a price so much better than the other 3 I had to have him tell me a second time. My system was down and it was going to be in the 80,s in a few days. He had 1 opening left on Friday and I took it. That morning at 7am Corey and his assistant showed up and by 3:00 pm we were all cool and happy. I would recommend this company for any heat or cooling problem you have. Thanks Alan and Corey. 2022-03-21The worst company ever, I don’t know how they’re still in market!! They asked for 79$ for a diagnostic visit and then they charged me 250$!! And they insisted that I misunderstood and they sent the bill to collection, and not just that they did not give an estimate on how much it will cost to fix the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

2021-10-16Was looking for a new dish washer and stopped in to see what they had. I knew nothing about what I wanted. I just knew I needed a dish washer 600 dollars and under. The salesman that took care of us acted like we were an inconvenience to him and didnt even try to explain the differences in the dishwashers. I probably wouldve spent more if I was educated on each appliance and what they do. We just picked out what we wanted and left disappointed and unsure of what we got. We went to the warehouse to pick it up and in the future we will shop here due to the employees were awesome and welcomed us. Will never go to the Montgomery location again.i give the warehouse employees 5 stars. We were never going to return to recker and boeger again but they changed our thoughts with their attitudes. They were great.

2021-04-22Purchased a cafe dual fuel range and opted for the install. They didnt have the range we wanted on the floor so Mike took us back to the warehouse to show us an electric version that had come in. He also showed us a gas version of the same manufacturer so we could take a picture of the gas hook up to show the plumber installing the gas line. Range took 2 months to come in, and installation was professional and quick (R&B employees, ot contracted out- big plus!) will definitely use them for future appliance purchases over the box stores.

2021-08-13A local company that specializes in listening to your needs and finding the equipment to accomplish what youve explained. The staff is well educated polite and willing to take the time to utilize the expertise that they have to make the experience successful. This is now the second grouping of appliance weve bought from there and it will not be the last.

2021-04-13Bought appliances here several times & never once had a bad experience. This time I went to pick up an LG 5.0 cu.ft. washer dryer set. They actually had the larger 5.5 cu.ft. set in stock on an in store only unadvertised sale for less $ than the one I went to get. Can you say no Brainer?Bought it & drove around the corner & picked it up. They work great. I am so glad I got the bigger set. I will NEVER need to see the inside of a laundromat again.

2021-02-13Purchased a refrigerator 2 years ago and Chris Auel was our sales representative . Contacted him again today about a dishwasher & was happily surprised he still worked there. I first inquired about a scratch and dent then decided to go with a regular new model. That dishwasher was on backorder so he suggested a different model and would adjust delivery and install charge so that the cost would be the same as the backorder item Grand total. We did all this over the phone and he was super nice and patient which I def appreciated. I had a easy, convenient, fast, and positive appliance purchase experience. It was nice to be able to have a familiar sales person to help and will absolutely be a future return customer

2019-08-02I have used Recker and Boerger now for my furnaces and my central air replacement. I own a two family home and replaced both furnaces seven years ago. The experience was terrific. The selection of unit, arrangement of installation and installation process were all terrific. I felt well-informed through every step.This year, I found out one of my 20-year old central air units was no longer functioning. I had exactly the same terrific experience. The selection of unit, financing, arrangement of installation and actual installation process were all painless. I could not have asked for a better experience.I always recommend Recker and Boerger to anyone shopping for new home systems or appliances.
