Dont waste your time without a membership.Because you will waste your time.Waited a significant amount of time to be told I had to wait twice as long due to a member being behind me in line. The member did NOT have a reservation. He was just there. At that point it was not worth my time anymore.I wont bother trying that again. This becomes more of a disappointment, because it is a nice facility with a decent staff. They just have very poor policy implementation.
The CCW class was great my husband And I went together. I was worried is was going to be power point overload but it wasn’t the instructor Evan was awesome. We took enough breaks to stretch out and get our minds refreshed and he made sure everyone understood all the materials then when we got to the range time, I was a first time shooter and he was very encouraging and informative and We both passed with no issues at all. We found out during the class my husband didn’t need to take the class because he is a veteran and with his military experience he could have just gotten his CCW ID but we both agree this was a Great class, and a great refresher for him! Would recommend this class to anyone.
Came here with friends to shoot at the range and most likely wont be returning. The staff are unfriendly, borderline rude, and it unfortunately started our experience off very unpleasant. Nobody greets you when you come in even though there are multiple staff just standing around. We stood in line while two staff member talked before someone finally called us up, she had a bad attitude throughout the transaction and acted like she didnt want to wait on us. No one seemed to be knowledgeable or helpful. The one positive was the gentleman inside the range, he was helpful and professional. Its too bad as this was my friends first time at a range and I would have liked her to have a good experience. Things are too expensive to now to also have to put up with bad service. Ill be looking for a new range for our next outing.
The young lady at the counter was not friendly. It was 3 of us and we waited at the red line, where it stated to stand until called we stood there almost 8 min before she even acknowledged we were there. She was having a conversation with her Co worker we she finally called us to the counter she was not friendly at all never looked at us talked to us and asked questions as she looked at her computer screen. Then when she was done with our transaction she said safety video hit play on the TV 📺 then walked away. She never asked if we had any questions just told us the place we will be and walked away.Once in the back no one asked if we needed assistance or anything would have been helpful because my friend never shot a gun before. The best part I can say is I got to shoot and practice, but I just felt like a transaction but I didnt feel welcomed. Other places I have been are further out but I would drive there for the great service
$75 for a firearm transfer??? WHAT A RIP OFF. Plus all gun and ammo prices are a total rip off. I will not be back…..It’ll like you people think nobody knows about ammoseek.com? If you dont, please check it out everyone and dont buy anything from here unless its a fair price!
Took the basic handgun class and found myself being one of two people. Was a perfect course for someone who is around guns but really doesnt know much about them. Really took the time to explain what we wanted to know most and during the range time, emphasized the technique that was taught during the class. Overall a fun time that made me feel more comfortable selecting a handgun.
My son and I completed the CCW certification class. The training was great. Terry did a good job of making it interesting, even the dry legal content. The only reasons for not giving five stars is the amount of ammo required and time to purchase it. The email said I would need 50 rounds but it required 100 rounds. This almost doubled the cost of the class. I think that Terry could evaluate the proficiency of the shooter and allow a reduction in the number of rounds once he was satisfied with their proficiency. Also, for those of us who had to buy ammo or rent a firearm, it would have been better to have a dedicated clerk to process the trainees. We had to wait while one person took care of some other customers trying to decide what guns to try.
Called to purchase a gift certificate (son in laws birthday). Was told that it needed to be done online. (Sign#1).Went online, provided needed information. visa card was used...and cleared.Son in law called and thanked me for the gift.Email gift card was sent from point blank directly to him.Next day received email saying that the order was cancelled.Spoke with Axel..was told issue with my email cancelled the transaction...could not confirm my email address...yet I received the email cancelling .Axel said that my funds would be returned 5-7 days.Spoke with Justice ..said he would call corporate...still no return call or refund.. Thinking That I have been scammed...waiting until Monday to file police reports...ripping off seniors should have consequences
The instructor (Evan) knows his stuff and very good at teaching classes. It was nice to take the class on Sunday and go down to the Lake Country Sheriffs CCW office then next day to get the card. Turns out I did not need to take the class due to my prior military service but the training was nice to have for review.
This class was very informative. Which was awesome for me because I had never been to a range before and knew absolutely nothing about firearms. I will definitely recommend it. The teachers were very helpful and patient with the students in the class. It was fun though. I met some cool people also.
Signed up for a private lesson at the Mentor, OH location. Arrived early as directed to check in and buy ammunition. Firearms are not permitted in the classroom so lock it up in the car if you are directed to the classroom. I was assigned Terry H. We went over my training history and what I wanted to work on. Had a great time and got some guidance on things I needed to practice. Looking forward to another session with him.
Went there for the CCW Training Course. My experience was very good to be honest . I went in to the range check in counter signed in that went smoothly, went to class in the back my Instructor Terry was very knowledgeable showed us everything in terms of everything we needed (Safety,Form, Technique, Parts of Pistols,How different parts work on them, Laws, Etc...) also told personal stories and keep things fun for it being a long course lol. The Written test was pretty easy. Then range time we started of slow at 1st but quickly progressed . Then the we took the accuracy test. Overall it was pretty cool
It was awesome! my first experience and Terry my instructor made it easy his experience showed in how he spoke. Its easy to listen when someone shows patience and he did. I cant forget to mention the guy who was at the check out counter Amazing people! thanks!I will go back
I took a Basic Handgun Class at Shoot Point Blank in Mentor (May 2021). I was an experienced beginner prior to taking the class - and I still am :) The instructor (Evan) was clear, concise and helpful. I was really amazed how much I learned and how well the range coaching improved my confidence and results. I plan on taking more classes to continue to increase my skill as a gun owner. Would highly recommend.
Evan H. conducted a very thorough and easily understood presentation. He communicated well and answered everyones questions. The range session was also conducted very well, albeit having to work around and wait on some attendees who were not proficient with magazine loading and had some physical limitations (grossly out of shape) which slowed things down.My only criticism was the absence of any type of liquid refreshment, particularly coffee.I have attended many classes, seminars, and conferences over the past forty years and this was the only time I can remember coffee not being available. Surely for the cost of the class and the length of time involved, coffee (and possibly other refreshments) could have been provided.
Honestly, I am so happy I took the CCW class at Shoot Point Blank! Terry and Wayne was amazing! The class was from 1230pm to 830pm, and although it seems like a long time, the way they have the class set up it went by so fast. You learn a lot, and it is totally worth it if you ask me.
Very presentable store and a clean range. Prices are pretty good compared to a lot of other places. The majority of the staff is very helpful and great to work with except the one kid with dark hair and glasses, he has been disrespectful every time Ive spoken with him. So far James has been the most helpful to me personally. Its a pretty nice place overall.
Really great place for any new or seasoned gun owners. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Bri and Erick helped me find a firearm that fit my needs and every time I come in they are always extremely helpful. I really like that none of the staff try to pressure me into buying anything I don’t want or need! Mentor Shoot Point Blank is by far my favorite firearm store that I’ve been to so I highly recommend stopping by!
Theyre not the closest range for me, but I go there because their facility is larger, cleaner, and all-around better operated. The Range Safety personnel are there if you need them and, so long as you are using the facility in a safe manor, do not interfere with your trigger time. Their selection of firearms, ammunition, and accessories is great, as well as the assortment of rentals. I have taken only one of the many available classes that they offer, and the instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, and a down to Earth kind of guy, rather than the I know everything, my way is the only right way in your face type. Every member of the staff with whom I have interacted was courteous, helpful, and professional. I enjoy using this facility and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
My mother and I purchased firearms last year and wanted to do a class to work them. Multiple things came up were we had to reschedule the class. They went about and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Dave did our class as our original instructor had a family emergency. He was amazing!
Im an Instructor based in Cleveland OH, Ive been to all ranges around here. I stumbled across Shoot Point Blank in Mentor OH by accident true story lol I was out shopping with my family for groceries and just went in to check it out. When I stepped in the building its very clean, gun prices are amazing the staff there needs a raise from how great they treat customers and helpful. At the time I didnt have a membership I went to shoot and checked out the prices and the perks also the gun rentals are outstanding for members. The lanes are very clean, range officers are very professional. After my 1st day there before I walked out I became a member and I love this place thank you so much for bringing the professionalism to the community and us customers.
The range proficiency portion was an excellent experience. My instructor had a tasteful sense of humor, and was great at keeping my attention. I learned more then I expected and I will probably pursue further training with shoot point blank as a result. Customer service was also fantastic
Evan is a fabulous instructor!, He made the class interesting with his real life stories of many topics. He explained each section in great detail and made it fun. He was attentive and a great listener when students had questions. He was able to answer each question in detail and a helpful way. On the range, he was patient and extremely helpful. I was very impressed and glad I chose to take my CCW class at Point Blank. Thank you!!
Matt knows his stuff on the range and that is where I got value. The class itself, Matt needs work on presentation. Im a trainer and he made all the classic mistakes (didnt know the material, read the slides, stood in front of props, didnt engage the class to try enough). I could help, but it wasnt my place. The RANGE TIME WAS GREAT. He helped me and even swapped out a different rental firearm for another brand to compare. That helped redeem the time taking the class.
Love this place. The prices are affordable, the membership is awesome and those in law enforcement or military, the discount is nice too. I love the selection they have of firearms and never have trouble getting a time slot to shoot. In my opinion, this is the best in door firing range in the area hands down!
Instructor was very informative for the CCW classes. I learned a lot that I didn’t know. Instructor was very helpful with things I didn’t know. Instructor gave tips on my own personal gun and how to handle it. It’s a sub-compact Taurus G2C and I have big hands. I recommend this class to anyone looking to get their CCW license
I will start off by saying.....I love the store, great stuff and always have what I want. Not to mention good prices also. How ever the people that work there leave something to be desired. I have been in that store in Mentor almost weekly to purchase stuff for the weapon I purchased at that store. Long story short, I cant even get a hello, or welcome or any kind of customer service unless I wonder around and seek it out. And even then the service is so sub par I am not able to leave happy. I really wish the company would do a better job finding staff to run their store.
As a premium member I must admit I’m concerned and a little disappointed in the direction this location is going. I’m not sure if the experience is the same elsewhere but it seems as the company has decided to expand and grow at such a fast pace nationally the level of service I have come to expect has diminished. Being a premium member used to mean something. If there was a gun deal I would be able to call and have it held min 24 hours. If I needed range time I had priority when I got there. I’ve been turned away a few times recently. I was told by some new kid I didn’t have to worry about stock issue on the ruger 57 deal a couple of weeks ago. Only to get there the next morning and they were completely sold out. I have purchased multiple firearms from this location and my membership has been in place. Me, my wife and friend all took our Ccw class there. Even though my commute there is easily 25-30 minutes I had no problem making the trip due to the level of service I used to received. All of the tenured professionals have or are departing. This new wave of employee aren’t as knowledgeable nor do they possess the expertise of some of my favorite employees there. I’m now considering canceling my membership. The aura is gone.
Absolutely loved this place. I bought every gun I won from here. They enacted a range policy that says the only ammo you can use is ammo bought there, or if it comes from else where, it has to be a brand they carry and in original packaging. I asked what would happen if I had hot, home-loaded ap tracers in a Sellier and Bellot casings and box. The employees couldnt give me a reason for the policy. Im giving 3 stars and not 1 because I love the employees here, and even through the shortages, it has always felt like the staff tries to make sure that anyone that walks in the door has a good experience. Corporate needs to get their stuff together. Starting to feel like the ATF is running the business with these nit-picky rules. #freemybulletsP.S. Let us rapid fire under 7 yards.
Dont like leaving negative reviews but my sister got me a gift.card and told me when she went to get the card the guy behind the counter had a attitude and was rude. I have experienced that my self multiple times of going in to point blank . I have kept quiet about it until now. Enough is enough. I have spent tons of money there and have bought a few guns there and was going to buy one today with my gift card but soon as I went in the guy was rude when i.asked if they had a certain gun in stock and asked if one could be ordered, The reply was rude and after other times seeing that from this store and to my sisters first time being there and them treatng her like that I dont want to shop there anymore. Not every worker there is like that but there has been a few that are and makes you.not want to spend your money there. Hopefully onetoday.isnt a manager.
I have been a member of Shoot Point Blank for more than a year. I find it to be a great range with great people. I took their CCW and Advanced Pistol course and I really enjoyed both classes. The range itself is well maintained and has never been crowded. A membership is the best way to go if you shoot as frequently as I do, which about once a week for about an hour and a half up to two hours. I am planning on a new bolt gun and will use Shoot Point Blank for the transfer of the action. I haven’t bought any guns from them them yet, but I will be in the future. I am a big Sig Sauer fan and after I finish my new precision rifle I will be purchasing a Sig Sauer P320 FCU. Bottom line, great store, great range with great people.
Terry, our instructor, was very good in ensuring that the students understood the purpose of the class and the importance of knowing the procedures and laws of handling a firearm. His knowledge and teaching expertise is invaluable. I found the class to be exactly as I needed in order to get comfortable with handling a firearm myself. I will be continuing my firearm education with Shoot Point Blank and Terry. Thank you.
I have been researching a new pistol for concealed carry. The folks in there were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made my experience a nice one. The banter between them was quite fun and I thoroughly enjoyed being in there. Only downside was the range wasn’t open. Out of their hands, though. I’ll be back!
Ordered me a AR pistol online because i could not find one anywhere. saw they had one on the website so i ordered it on a saturday, it was available to pick up wednesday. When i picked it up i grabbed some 556 ammo and was helped by a employee. Was in and out within 25 minutes. Will definitely shop again!
I stopped going to this range due to the rude service from the employees. Either ignoring customers when they are looking for assistance, of being rude to customers on the range. I went back today and I don’t know who told the range police that the best way to communicate with a customer is to scream at them from across the range, but I do not respond to be humiliated in a public area by anyone. I will never step foot inside of this range again, and I will never recommend any one else go there. There is a difference from being safety minded and rude and vicious and your staff needs to learn it.
My first visit to this Range was at the end of January. I wanted to purchase a handgun and the staff was very helpful. I signed up for their concealed carry class and was very impressed with the thoroughness of the information presented and how the instructor took the time to answer every question. The store has a good selection of firearms and accessories, and I have always found the staff to be friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is well supervised, clean, and comfortable. I would recommend this Range to anyone.
Decent prices on guns and the manager is nice. However, they do not believe in the rights of gun owners. I was walking through the store to use their gun range and was stopped and informed that the AR pistol I had on a sling on my back was not allowed. I had to immediately leave, return, purchase a case, put the gun in the case and then be able to walk through to use the range. This place will sell guns and allow you to carry a pistol in a holster on your hip but not allow you to have a pistol slung on your back with no magazine in it? Hypocritical. Ive made major purchases here in the past but will never be returning.
Went in for the first time today. Had a gift card to spend and was just going to get some ammo. Upon trying to check out my gift card was not working (had apparently been an ongoing theme of the day). No big deal. My sales guy Chad said hed have to go to the back and try and phone it in to get it activated to which I agreed was not a problem. Waited probably only about 10min and was approached my another member that turned out to be Will the store manager. He apologized profusely and spoke of making it right for me even though I wasnt all the upset or distressed over as it was not anything they were at fault for. Gave me a free 1hr range time card (thank you again) for the inconvenience and took the issue at hand upon himself to resolve. In the meantime I asked Chad to give me a beginners simplified explanation of the difference between AR15 models. I was really impressed with his candor and knowledge of the products and will feel much more comfortable making a purchase. I passed on Chads info and suggestions to me toato my Army buddy who confirmed Chads recommendation. I had to leave before my gift card issue was fixed however the GM called me from his personal # to let me know it was taken care of and invited me back. Being a manager in retail as well (Best Buy), receiving personalized service and care like I did today are what makes or breaks a companys reputation. These 2 associates are a shining example of exactly what you do to stand out in the competitive retail landscape. I will be back very soon for the rifle sirs. Very very happy with this place. A++ 10/10 5 STARSEDIT - 7-10-2020....Have been back several times since my original review and each time the member of staff I dealt with was wonderful and I have purchased many things. A handful of Pmags, about $700 worth of various ammo, ear protection, was also looking at Canik TP9 Combat Elite and a Walther PPQ Match as well. My trip today was more akin to what others have experienced in these Google reviews. I stopped in today again to check out if there were any AR lower or upper receivers in stock but stopped by the ammo aisle first. Having just been there yesterday and spending $450 on ammo I came back on the off chance there was still some 5.56 that I had seen but didnt know if I wanted to buy 3 cases of ammo in one day. An unprofessional looking young kid with saggy pants and untucked shirt (dark hair, glasses, maybe a mustache cant remember) walked by so I simply said Hey bud, I was here yesterday and saw some 5.56 ammo, on the off chance is there any left? Rather then answer my question like a normal person he replies If you saw it yesterday you should have bought it.....well yea no $hit Sherlock. He then turned and kept walking over toward the rifle counter by the AR15s back turned to me while Im still trying to talk to him and again says (as if to himself since hes not even facing me anymore) If you see ammo, buy it. Again, telling me something Im already aware of in a sarcastic tone with your back turned and not even answering my original question when a simple No, we sold out would have sufficed, is completely unacceptable. I wish I got his name. As a manager of a $30million+/year retail location if I had someone like this working for me they would be reprimanded and if repeated they wouldnt be working for me. It only takes 1 bad experience to change someones opinion and this kids attitude has for sure ruined my glowing review of this location from the previous service I had received from the GM Will, Chad, Brianna, Jon, and others. 3 STARS
Will Phelps, the store manager, took exceptional care of me and my wife. He was knowledgeable regarding the weapon we were purchasing and his customer service through out the purchase was incredible. We utilize the range quite often and the staff is curteous and professional. I highly recommend this facility for both beginners and expert shooters alike. We look forward to our next visit!
Updating review from 1 to 4. Overall I feel like this location has moved forward with better customer service. Still not ideal but it has gotten better and I will give credit where it’s due. Gentleman today saw me waiting in line and came over and asked if I needed help. Years ago that would’ve never happened. Thank you
I had a very good experience with online class and in person training. The Mentor location is clean, neat, safe, and well run with friendly staff. I have read many “One Star” reviews and ironically many of the complaints are exactly why I like this place. Rules and safety are #1.
A couple of months ago I decided to learn about guns. Shoot Point Blank is an excellent place to start. By getting a membership I was able to take classes, get the use of a wide variety of guns, and get unlimited range time for less than most places charge to take a single lesson. I did have to pay for ammo and targets. The staff is very helpful and friendly.I have now progressed to the point of having my own gun and started doing competitive shooting. I have even used their location in Columbus with the same membership.
I took time off from work for this class. I drove 27 miles one way to get there. I arrived to find out the range was closed due to a maintenance problem AND that my instructor was out of town d/t a death in the family. Both acceptable excuses but this was known in advance and no one bothered to contact me. I got a half-hearted sorry upon my arrival and no one has been in touch to even reschedule. I am pretty upset.
I had an amazing experience here. Went there to try out a gun I bought for Christmas with a co-worker and it was the best range experience you could ask for. A lot of gun ranges and shops seemed to be committed to keeping the place looking like a dungeon. No such thing here.Super clean brightly lit facility. Offering the option to rent guns before purchase or just to screw around with. Even had a snack area. Very knowledgeable friendly staff. Had basically everything I can ask for at a shop or a range. Ive worked in sales for a portion of my career so customer service and behaviors are big for me. Theyre definitely a place of business first and range second. Felt very confident bringing my family to sign up for the CCW courses.Favorite range and shop by far.
I took my CCW and purchased my first gun there and signed up as a member for the shooting range. My last visit was the last time I’ll be dealing with those employees there and I’m canceling my membership. They are rude and disrespectful to paying customers. I watched the range safety officer yelling at someone for not realizing his time was up (literally 2mins over). Every time I went to the range I was met with an unfriendly and unwelcoming atmosphere especially if you ask questions. The only time I was treated decently was in the CCW class.
I decided to try out Point Blank recently. I received a gift card with some range time so I had to try it out. I have heard mixed reviews of this place. What I found was a very clean and modern facility. The range master on duty was very friendly and not rude. Actually, all the staff I encountered was courteous and pleasant to talk to. I was assigned a lane and was able to shoot for an hour without being harassed. I was able to use my own ammo and paper targets without any problems. Each shooting lane is isolated from each other so you wont have interference from the guy next to you. They have many rules here to adhere to so as long as you do that, I dont think you will have any problems. There are other shooting ranges in the area that you can patronize if this isnt your cup of tea. It seems like Point Blank caters to novice shooters. The prices of guns and ammunition seemed a bit high, but I probably wouldnt purchase a gun here anyways. Im glad they offer concealed carry classes too. It was nice to have rentals available in case I wanted to try something different. I will definitely visit Point Blank again.
I am a big fan of their Mentor location. The staff is extremely friendly and well educated but dont take the Im better and smarter than you approach that you get with many other ranges or shops. I walk out feeling well informed on all purchases. The biggest difference is their range safety officers and safe shooting stalls. I generally shoot alone. Knowing that there is bullet proof glass and walls on either side of the lanes along with a range officers overseeing the safety of shooters. Be aware of your surroundings but you do not need to be fearful entering their range. The officers are attentive and not bashful about correcting you on something that is not permitted. Again, unless the action is extremely hazardous, they are always respectful when providing instruction.I would highly recommend this location for shooters of a skill levels.
Took the CCW class in the Mentor location with Evan as the instructor! Evan was AWESOME! As a former Marine had a military bearing that was very reassuring. The class content was obviously standardized, but Evan was able to personalize it with experiences from his service and was very professional and engaging. Range time was another great experience as Evan was monitoring and instructing the group as a whole, but was willing to offer advise on improving accuracy and work with each of us a unique individuals! I would highly recommend SPB & Evan for CCW training.
Not sure if there were problems in the past but they do not deserve a 3.6 star rating, it was a 5 out of 5 in my opinion. No crazy overhead either. The general manager is awesome with the utmost customer service. They were stocked with tons of gear and all of the associates were extremely helpful and friendly. Took a class here as well, the instructor was born for the job! Highly recommended.
They completely do not value their customers, are rude and have a chip on their shoulder. They are there to sell and once you buy, they are done treating you with any degree of respect. They simply do not care or maybe the owner does not care since he allows his staff to just do whatever they feel like on a particular day. Oh, and do your homework so you dont pay much more for something you can get a lot cheaper. We overpaid at least $150 plus on the gun we bought. They certainly know how to sell to the uninitiated.
I will definitely be returning to this location. Friendly service as well as extremely helpful in understand different products/what would best fit my needs. I felt no pressure in buying or waiting to buy from them- they just wanted to help me with find a product I was most comfortable with.
Most of the staff carry a very poor attitude, I shop here often and get very poor customer service. I spoke to a man named Will who seems to have very little interest in your presence. Ive bought a number of firearms and ammunition from this place and unfortunately will not be returning. I can find better prices, and clean firearms at other dealers. Its a shame, this used to be my go to spot and for many other people. Please resolve this seemingly reoccurring problem coming from the people who keep you ope .
The workers they have here are the biggest joke I’ve seen. They are rude and walk around like they answer to no one. The person we were with had a membership and they were rude at the counter when we were asking questions and then out on the range the safety guy tried to he t all tough and was extremely rude. The workers need to check their tone and realize they are in the service industry. I get you need to be safe, but that guy was completely out of line. We won’t ever be going back and the guy that was with us said he is cancelling his membership. Biggest joke of a place I’ve ever been. Would not recommend if you’re trying to have a good time or practice shooting.
I went in to get a new pistol grip / trigger guard for my Daniel Defense M4V11. Its a little more difficult then changing your standard pistol grip so I asked the employee behind the counter if he knew how to do it...He literally laughed in my face, made it sound VERY easy, and then fumbled around and screwed it up for almost an hour before I took the tools from him and did it myself. For one, the staff is VERY unqualified and lacks basic knowledge. Im no expert and the last time I was in there I ended up basically selling a pistol for them because their employee couldnt answer a young ladies basic question. They should seriously consider re staffing this place. Staff is cocky, rude, and unhelpful. On top of that, the range and products are overpriced. To charge a premium, your staff has to perform at a premium. Poor, poor, management.
It was an okay range to shoot at with my girlfriend, her brother and her cousin. When it came to buying ammo, I bought 10 boxes of 7.62x39 and asked if they did a military discount. I was told yes but I never got it. The employee, Lance, working the counter almost insisted on me not doing it because we would have to wait for the manager to approve it. It got to the point that I was wasting time waiting for it and asked if I just bought the ammo and got a refund for the military discount portion after shooting. He said he wouldn’t be able to do that. After about 20 minutes of waiting for a manager I just ended up buying the ammo because they just didn’t seem too worried about giving the discount. Probably won’t shoot here again but definitely won’t purchase any retail items from them.
Great indoor range, building is great, and they had a nice selection of firearms and ammo. My only complaint is the weird attitudes of the staff. Very snobby, which I found comical because one of the employees I spoke with was not very knowledgeable. If you come here, conduct your own research, and come for business only. IE: go buy ammo, or shoot at the range, nothing more. Dont expect the experts behind the counter to offer you firearms expertise.
Went here for a CCW certification class. Our instructor, Neil, was incredible; well informed, intelligent, and thorough, he made the class a lot of fun as well. The facility itself was clean and the staff all seemed very friendly. Ill definitely be returning for both range practice and the purchasing of whatever I need. Thank you guys!
Most of the guys are nice and knowledgeable. I had an enjoyable experience with the ccw instructor chad. I got my permit in no time. The reviews are so mixed that I wasnt sure about trying them out but I went ahead and took a chance and I must say that I am glad that I did. They also have a nice selection of guns and theyre not overly priced in my opinion. I got a smith and wesson 9mm m&p shield handgun under $400.00 so that was awesome compared to what I had initially intended to spend.
Fabulous location and feels like how a gun shop should be. I have been to Cabelas and great lakes outdoor supply and they dont have anywhere near as clean of a shop as this place. The other nice part is I was interested in a product and was surprised that a similar model had a cheaper tag on sale all because it was one tone instead of two. Once both the paper and the nics check came back all clear I was in and out in maybe 20min if that. David and his supervisor who looked over the paperwork thank you so much and will see you guys when I get to use the range next time Im in.
Very disappointed. I was excited to read in the paper this new place was opening up. Stopped in shortly after they opened and have been in there 5 times since. Last time was an hour ago at 1:00 PM 6/15/15. Each time my wife have been in there we have been ignored by the staff. They do not have the customer service or sales skills to ensure this business will survive. I have walked into the Mentor facility with a pocket full of cash 5 times and have left each time without reaching for it. My wife and I both have our CCW and receive advanced training each year. We live near downtown Cleveland so we have the option of traveling to several ranges. We have found Select Fire to suit our needs just fine. Such a shame that much money was invested into a place when the staff lack basic customer service skills. I wish them well however my business is going elsewhere.
I did not have a good first time and final time (NEVER AGAIN). Many things went wrong and I will not waste your time with all the details but rather give Bullet Points.1. They were teaching first day staff members on the spot with customers. Even stupid companies dont do that. Teach them the basics and then shoulder them with customers is the way to go. Not even their instructors knew how to operate the registers. Took forever all the times I had to go up to them for stupid reasons that kept costing me more and more money.2. Didnt ask what of ammo I brought but seem to have an issue with it once I was in the stall. Their stall ammo is 5%-20% the going rate from what I could tell but I took my son and paid it anyways for bonding time. From what I saw the same ammo they charged for the range was higher then what the exact same ammo in the showroom was. Look for yourselves.3. Had to argue with the range master who said my time was up after spending half that time at the register buying new over priced rounds from people that had no clue how to work a register. and taking 15 minutes to do so.4. The range master working that day had no Idea what he was talking about and kept interrupting my son and I saying our 2 of 4 guns were not legal. Frigging idiot.5. Ill stop here I spent over $100.00 for the 30 minute rifle lane I ended up buying over priced ammo and was even told to clean up my lane by an old fat lady who covered the idiot kid claiming my guns were illegal. The ammo I brought is allowed at all the other indoor ranges!Never again. That place is garbage and I will tell everyone I know never to go there. Avoid these CROOKS!
Went to the range yesterday. Went through 100 rounds which I purchased from Point Blank along with a couple targets and two shooting lanes. My friend went with me, rented a pistol which he intended to purchase and also went through 100 rounds. I was planning on purchasing an AR-15 that they had after I was done shooting. We were only on the range for about 25min. Afterwards we asked if we could get refunded the extra 1/2hr of range per lane since we were done shooting. The girl running the desk didnt have authority to refund the money and called the GM. The GM authorized a refund of $12.00...on a Point Blank gift card. The lanes were 18 bucks each. Absolute piss poor customer service. Glad we found out about how bad it was then before dumping the extra $2100.00 + in this place. Proud to take my business somewhere else. Way to screw your store out of a descent sale GM. You just lost 2 customers, and with accommodations to your customers like we experienced, youre sure to lose a lot more
I am new to guns. This place made me feel very comfortable. The best way to describe the staff is professional. They let you look, they do not try to push a fairly high priced investment down your thoat. They are friendly and well very knowledgable. This is one of my favorite stores I go to, and I travel 70 miles to do it. I bet I pass 100 gun stores/ranges on the way, but it is worth it because of the friendly, professional staff atmosphere.
I truly appreciate the employees at this location!! Everytime I visit, they take care of me in a timely fashion, understand my needs/wants, and explain every detail when I ask a question. The overall Team is Awesome, but I must say Troy always take care of me. If you need anything, ask for Troy!
Been here off and on for the last 6 months with mixed results each time. Most of the staff isnt very helpful or flat out rude and each seems to have a different set of rules for the range. The range rules are also a little weird, mainly that they wont let you shoot steel cased ammo. I was told that their backstop cant handle steel case 7.62x39 non steel core rounds, even though it is rated for .338 Lapua Magnum which makes absolutely no sense if you have any grasp of ballistics. Im pretty sure they wont let you use it because they sell the range brass to a commercial reloader and they wont take steel cases. The range is clean but the target hangers never work correctly for me so I have to jiggle the switch which makes setting the range correctly impossible. My favorite was the time I paid for 30 min of range time and 10 min in was told my time was up. I had to leave the range and wait in line for 10 min to show the employee the time stamp on my receipt, and then claimed that it wasnt his fault and that I could go back in.I have also experienced similar problems with long waits to be helped in the store, mainly because they dont have enough people working the floor. The prices are pretty bad on most of the guns, hovering around MSRP for most so if you are looking to buy I would go to a smaller shop. Also, DO NOT ship a gun here, it took them 4 days to call me when mine came in which is ridiculous.Long story short I would not recommend this range at this time with their current staff, range rules, and prices. Hopefully they will make some changes soon to improve, though based on some of the other older comments it appears that as long as the shop is making money on people who dont know any better they dont really care.
Range is really nice and well kept, ammo prices are fair. Staff is just alright. Kind of hard to get help for anything. I had to make a return on one of the very few items Ive bought there, had to stand around for a solid 10 minutes before someone asked if I needed help then told me the guy with the beard can help you im going to be tied up for awhile....... never did find the guy with the beard.....new and used firearm prices seem to be on the high end. 3 stars because I really only go there to shoot, the range is nice and ive never had to wait to get a lane. Would be less stars if I actually needed to shop there but I drive further out for some better stocked stores.Edit 8/30/18 reduced to 1 star. Ive called 3 days in a row about price and availability for ordering a new firearm through this store and have been given the same answer all 3 times from e different employees, Ill have to take your name and number, I cant look up that information but will get it to someone who can and they will call you back. Still no call back. Ive never seen a retail store so uninterested in making a sale or a majority staff that doesnt have access to basic information such as inventory availability.
Treats knowledgeable customers like they are beginners. Prices are unbelievable and respond with find it elsewhere. Manager lies. Knowing the truth i asked a simple question about LE/military pricing, he responded with a pure lie. The nice atmosphere us not worth paying the high prices and horrific customer service. Go elsewhere and be satisfied.
This place would be great if you could get some service. Its well staffed, but even with 3 people behind one counter, and a 4th person behind another, i couldnt even get a greeting let alone some help with picking out a home defense pistol for my dad. I guess dropping nearly a grand on a handgun isnt as important as whatever happened on facebook last night. I waited around for 10 minutes before just leaving. Ill just buy something online and get it delivered elsewhere. God knows if i got anything shipped here id need a marching band to get their attention.
The staff, not all but most, are cocky and arrogant. I guess they think that wearing a gun on their side gives the right to act like fools. My son was asking one of the guys behind the gun counter a few questions about shotguns. Another of the sales staff laughed at one of the questions. I asked him if he had a bad day or was he always an idiot. We left although he tried to back pedal realizing that he acted inappropriately. We, my wife, son, and I, returned the following day to do some shooting. There were several customers waiting to get a lane. After watching three guys scramble around behind the counter getting little accomplished we were finally recognized by the counter guy. I asked if any lanes were open to which the ONLY response I got was no.You would expect a company representative to say that a lane will be available in 5-15-30 minutes. But instead all I got was a no. I asked how soon a lane would open up. Counter boy said 45 minutes.I then asked if things slow down a bit later on base on his experience at PB. His response was, I dont know and cant guarantee anything. I told him I wasnt looking for a guarantee but rather what typically happens later in the day on a Sunday.I dont get why these guys are so damn cocky. Heres a newsflash, most of us have guns also. Lol. Not many customers are going to take being treated like theyre bothering someone. Wake up before you ruin what can be a great asset to the city.
We had a Groupon to use here, it also happened to be the first time I ever shot a gun. Chuck, an employee at Point Blank, worked with us and was incredibly patient, kind, encouraging and fun. I was really intimidated by the guns and was even more weary when I got into the range and heard how loud the shots were. He helped make me comfortable, helped me adjust my stance and encouraged me to keep trying. I started off hesitant, but left Point Blank ready to come back for more. There were several people there shooting who helped me as well and aided Chuck in encouraging me. It was one of the best experiences! Thank you so much Chuck (and others)! Ill definitely be back soon :)
I dont appreciate them Automatically withdraw 50 bucks a month from my credit card.. and dont bother telling me until after the money has been taken...plus whats up with the tiny ledge you provide in the booths for me to place my handgun and AR15? Try setting up your long rifle and bipod on a bookshelf. I used the facility once last month and didnt plan on coming back...but now I see you took my money while I was sleeping and have to date spent 100 dollars a a single 30 minute visit. Enjoy that last 50 bucks ..it is the last from me and my wallet.
Will not support any business small or big that is so weak they are scared of Lake County Health Officials. You should go ahead and only sell 3 round magazines and shotguns since thats where we are heading and obviously this company doesnt stand for individual freedoms. If so you would not ask another human to put something on their face due to fear.
I have read a lot of the 1 star reviews on here and I do not get it. Ok, the gun sale prices are more expensive than other places. So what? If you dont like the price than buy elsewhere. It is a range not a gun store. The lanes are very nice, clean, and safe. Lane prices may be a little, stress little, higher than other places, but it is brand new and very nice. Surprise that nice things cost a little more. That happens in EVERY industry. I have been there 3 different times and the guys I have dealt with behind the gun counter and the register have been very nice and engaging. The liability waiver is $3 dollars PER YEAR!!!!!! dont complain that you are getting ripped off. The target holders function just fine. The targets move back and forth just fine. If the range is busy and people are waiting than it is prudent to tell the shooter how much time is left so they can move shooters in and out in a timely manner. Point blank Mentor is not for first time yuppy shooters as one person commented. I spent 12 years in the Army with the last 4 in the 82nd Airborne. Aside from not being able to draw from holster and shoot and some other types of shooting drills, for obvious indoor reasons, this range is great for practicing accuracy and just trigger time. It is embarrassing to gun and shooting culture to see avid shooters complaining about such trivial issues and trying to ruin this business. You know the prices before you go in (see website). If they say no steel case as well as steel core, just buy other ammo or leave. It is a rule they have, deal with it. It is not a rip off scam, or some evil plot to drain your bank account. It is simply a rule they have. This place is new, clean, safe, and fun to shoot at. If you have questions about rules just call before you come in.
I have gone there several times shopping for a handgun. I talked to several of the sales people behind the counter and some were helpful. I finally decided on which handgun I was going to purchase and went in to buy it. I stood at the counter for 20 minutes and not one person approached me to help. It was a bit busy, but not what I consider crowded. So, I left. I came back the next day and stood at the counter again for over 20 minutes and not one single salesperson even acknowledged my presence. This time the place was empty. I ended up going to Great Lakes Outdoor Supply in Middlefield and got everything I wanted plus a great deal. Point Blank is very convenient from a location standpoint, but I will shoot at Atwells. Better customer service.
Best range in the area overall. Very new and clean feeling inside, decent store and rentals. Also I can shoot all my rifle and pistol ammo here. Only downside is you cant rapid fire, maybe a good thing though.. Also they usually have decently priced brass in case you need it.
The range is one of the best ranges within the area and is cleaned nightly. Yeah, sometimes the lanes are down but that’s because some people don’t know how to shoot guns and they break the lanes and now no one can have nice things. Gun pricing is often high compared to competitors but there’s a few hidden gems. I mostly only go because of Jordan, Jay, Dave S. and Tom, the staff has some great members and then there’s the other ones... (you know who you are... Cody). Overall I would recommend to shoot during the winter but in the summer just go outside. I haven’t been in since the corporate take over but I can only imagine the joys soon to come.Jordan, Jay, Dave S. and Tom should get a raise
My daughter, mother, brother and I went here with the intent on getting my mother sometime behind a few firearms that she saw at the most recent gun show. Mom shot the Glock 42 and the S&W bodyguard. Taught my daughter how to shoot a priceless bonding experience. Tammy was the range officer and she was well versed in job and not overbearing or rude. We had a great time. Point Blank has a professional staff. We will be back for more range time.
One of the range attendants was rude, and busy screaming at literally most of the groups there. It made for a VERY unpleasant experience. Not that he was wrong, but his delivery was just nasty. Not a good way to encourage return visits. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful.
Been going to the store and the range for over a year and bought plenty there. Staff on the floor is great but tonight they had some angry-old-man RO who was a real pain, butting in on a lot of us there for made-up reasons and distracting people with his know-it-all, condescending, Im-in-charge-attitude. I left early with time I paid for still on the clock because of him. Ive never run into this at all the ranges in the state and all the competitions Ive been to. This was one of my regular places to go practice but not anymore. There are quite a few other ranges around where they dont act like this. Suggest you go to another range, as well. The two stars are for the staff on the floor. Theyre great. But that guy has got to go before Ill go back. Im sure other people who were there tonight feel the same way.
Best damn shooting range in town. I read some reviews below how others are saying the staff is rude and/or cocky and laughed so hard I almost fell over. You guys have obviously never been to any other shooting range around here such as Sherwin or Stonewall. If you have you would know that Point Blank has BY FAR, BY FAR, BY FAR the best customer service and the best range around. Some of their sales (not all, but some) beat prices of Fin Feather and Fur, which as far as I can tell usually have the lowest prices on guns anyday of the week. Great range. Great atmosphere. Come here if you want to be approached with a smile and be treated like a human being.
Great range. Frustrating that I show up a half an hour after being told over the phone that they were busy but no waiting just to find that once there being told that it will be at least an hour and a half wait to use the range. Common sense says you might tell the person on the phone that there is a CCW class starting soon.
This is a good place for handgun shooting/testing. Learn how to utilize their discounts during lunch time (11AM - 2PM)This is a small place for long guns. They do not allow certain ammunition that can penetrate their black junk pilled up on another side (Tula with steel bullets, Green tip ammo etc).Store prices are very high! I could not find anything with a good price that is interesting to me. But I am good in buying with the deep discounts and aware of places and methods to do it.Personal is friendly. FFL transfer is $40 (currently) can be waived if you make a $100 purchase.
If I was able to leave 0 stars I would. There guns are all overpriced. They’re prices were a tad high before but since new ownership took over they went down hill. Silverado Arms across from yours truly on center street is the place to go. they’re guns are a lot cheaper and if they don’t have it, They’ll get it fast. They also don’t offer layaway anymore but Silverado still offers it. Their range is super strict as well. Just stay away from point blank. They’re just money grabbing
I drove up to this place is Mentor, Ohio all the way from the Akron, Ohio area to take my mother shooting for her birthday. It is a nice place, but the gun-snob-attitude is present. After I got done shooting, I was chatting with an employee asking him about new sights for my Remington R1 (a 1911 model) He was very condescending, and basically told me my firearm was a piece of garbage. I told him that I havent had a single issue with mine, and all that matters is that it goes bang, and that not everyone can afford a $1000 dollar gun...Also what I didnt like, is that, that same employee wouldnt look me in the eye while speaking with me. (I understand he might be watching other customers, but WHO is dumb enough to try and steal and/or rob a gun shop?) Also, they had good prices on ammo, but they sold ALOT of brands Ive never heard of before...(Im a tad picky about my ammunition...mostly I just use Winchester, Remington, Hornady, and SOMETIMES Federal) The cheap prices on the off-brand ammunition made me skeptical...They also had TOO HIGH of purchase prices on even their used and/or rental guns...I know guns dont really depreciate in price, but they were selling a Ruger SR 1911 for about $850 (I can buy at that price NEW and UNUSED)...So, my analysis:- Excellent range (+)- Overpriced guns (-)- Off-brand ammo (-)- Rude, condescending, and snobby (-, -, -)I will not be back.
They charge $40 for an FFL transfer and tell you that you can buy $70 worth of stuff and they will wave it. Do not send a gun there for FFl transfer for any reason. I had one shipped there last week. I checked the tracking number and it said it was delivered. I showed up and they turned me away saying it hadnt been put in their records yet. So I went home. 15 minuted later as I was pulling into my driveway i get a call telling me to pick up my gun. Was not. Less happy when they told me it was going to be $40.Atwells charges $30 and Best gun shop charges $20 both are less them 5 minutes down the road. I suggest going to one of those shops. As for the range its fine. Nothing special other than they charge you $3 just sign their waver. Last i checked the waver was for their benefit not mine so why am I being charged? The range time isnt cheep ether. Nothing in that place is reasonably priced other than ammo. The guns can be found cheaper anywhere. In any case there are shops in the aria that dont gouge prices and are far more reasonable. Point blank is for mentor yuppies that dont know any better.
Great place to shoot, prices are tad in the higher side. Biggest COMPLAINT is the heavy set old white guy with the mustache. HUGE asshole. Couple of the other guys are nice a few others are cocky. I might explore other ranges just so I don’t have to deal with that dickhead with his stupid mustache. Horrible attitude.
Stopped yesterday to look and ask a lot of questions. The place was packed, almost need to take a number to get waited on, the phone ringing non stop. Will took care of my sister and myself. Answered all of our questions, took his time demonstrating and was very informative, patient and friendly. Thank you so much!
They are consistently $100 or more above competition pricing. Some items they stock are several hundred dollars over price. Was looking to pirchase a Chiappa Rhino .357. Was told they do not carry it and would need to order one. Price was quoted at $1150. I then see the exact same model In Stock on display for $920. Then I check online and most competition are $840. I personally will not buy a firearm from them unless they price match. They do however have a great range that is always clean and well maintained.
They Lie on their web site saying we allow all bi metal ammo. Me and a friend went there with an AK and a VZ both with steel jacket ammo. $53 later my friend was able to get not even 1 mag fired off before they kicked him and I out of the range and only giving us $32 back. I brought their web page up were it specified that they allow all ammo there, and showed it to management. That and the way they treated us there, Ill never go back to that place. They lost my business for good and the business of anyone else I can stop from going there. If your web site is going to say one thing, than back it up. Dont treat your paying customers like garbage.
I have waited to write this. I will tell you my best of three visits. I walk in, three employees stand at the half round desk talking, laughing, hamming it up. Each one makes eye contact with me for a second before returning to the pow wow. 2 men nicely dressed sitting in chairs near window overlooking range. 2 minutes go by, they all see me. One of the nicely dressed men stands up and says will somebody please help him turns to me sorry, someone will help you in just a second.None else is in this store, just the six of us, not a soul on the range.,Employee wanders over. skinny, long unkempt hair, full beard with leftovers suck in it. Next 20 minutes spent trying to get a dd rail. Left my info, told them to call me.Since then I have bought a gen 4 g17, g23 and the dd rail from atwells, located on chestnut street not far from this sad example of Wal-Mart gun culture. And like I said this is the best experience I had at this location, it was bad enough for me to write my first review ever.
Ive read a few reviews prior to posting this stating dont listen to old reviews as if Point Blank has somehow cleaned up their act, I can attest to the fact that they have most certainly not. Twice I have called and have been given false information on when the store would be closing. The first time I was told the store would be open until 9pm, upon arrival at 5:45pm, I was told they were closing. Im not a mathematician but that seemed over 3 hours early but I digress. This was very frustrating as I wasted my time driving to the range when I had called. The second time, five days later might I add, I wanted to give it another shot. I called at 7pm asking what time they would close, the answer was 9pm once again, but upon arrival at 7:50pm I was told by one of the rude employees the store is closing at 8. I dont know what the major malfunction is but I will not be returning to your range.
Nothing better than to walk into a place to spend $1000 and be completely ignored. Not even a hi, we will be right with you, nothing. With this much competition out here you would think better customer service would be a priority.Update: I reluctantly gave them one more chance for another purchase I was making...needless to say they did not get it right that time either.
After reading all the 1-star reviews I decided to check this place out myself and I have to say you whiners have no idea what youre talking about. Fantastic facility, friendly staff and good prices (brand new Springfields with gear for under $400!!) make this easily the best range in Cle.Highly recommended to all.
Looking at my receipt now that Im home I was charged full price for ammo that was clearly marked as on sale with a huge sign right in front of the door when you walk in. not happy. asked dude behind counter a simple question about a rifle and he didnt know I liked this place at first but Ive been back several times and now have decided to leave this negative review based on my experiences/visits
I called to find out if they carried a .380 Spectrum and the guy that answered the phone was VERY rude from the moment he answered the phone. This will be my 1st gun purchase and unfortunately not everything is common sense. I actually needed some help. Customer service is everything! I will continue to look somewhere else!
The range facilities are fine, the quality and ease of operation/use of the facilities are a plus. The staff are the biggest problem. The range master was arrogant and nasty.I was shooting a suppressed [“silencer” in mainstream media culture] AR-15 which is also a short-barreled AR-15 rifle. These are NFA items. The range master interrupted my shooting and began to insist/demand in a rather snide and demanding tone that I show him my NFA tax stamp paperwork. I explained, “respectfully sir I am only required to show them to the ATF, now if you want to see them I’ll have to go get them from my truck, they’re in my truck.”He snapped at me, “you’ll show me any papers I demand, I don’t care if you think you only have to show them to the ATF, I’m in charge here.”I then asked, “do you want me to go get them from my truck?”He then said, “well no, it’s no big deal, I don’t need to see them.”So he interrupted my shooting to yell at me and demand papers, but in the end it was “no big deal” and he didn’t need to see them? He just wanted to take the opportunity to throw his weight around and make it clear that he is in charge. I dont have time for that sort of attitude. He could have just asked, in a polite manner, up front, do you have papers for those items? I would have said, yes I do, do you need to see them? and he could have either said, no youre good or I would like to see them, please get them.Every other range I have been at either A) doesn’t demand I show them papers or B) requests politely when I first arrive or I am first unpacking, they don’t interrupt me in the middle of shooting and then end with saying “no big deal we don’t need to see the papers anyway.”Youre far better off going to the DNR outdoor range at Grand River Wildlife Area [it is about $25 dollars for an annual pass, go as often as you want, with 25 yard, 50 yard, 100 yard, it is a fully staffed range with courteous range officers whose main concern is safety, they dont gripe you about the weapon youre using and try to throw their weight around]
MY wife and I went there to have some fun time and the kid behind the counter did not tell US to wait. He told us that we have to put our eye glasses and ear protection on. So we went back and started shooting. Then they came back and told us we are on the wrong side So we moved. I shot about 15 rounds so my wife wanted to shoot. She got her Glock out and and the guy in the back. Told her that her finger was on the trigger and she said that it was not plus it was not even loaded. He said dont tell him he was GOD and leave. They would not give ower money back. They did offer for us to come back So from now on we will always go to Shermins. These people are self centered and rude.
Walked in asked where are your mags the person said over there walked away. So I went back to give them 2nd chance. Walked in asked where are your used pistols again he said over there and he walked away again. Will never go again. Very very rude and like Im better than you. If they are the only gun shop in America I would never shoot again or purchase anything from them. Im a veteran and never got disrespected like that in my life....I gave them a piece of my mind and walked out...place is a joke!!!!
(hope owner comments) WORST place ever!! Was completely disrespected. first of the year me and gf went shooting got done and the ACCUSED us of stealing. they didnt say anything there even after walking around for 10mins. 2 hours later I have COPS pounding at my door ACCUSING and YELLING me and Girlfriend of stealing!!!!! made us go to mentor police station. told cop story and we looked at tape. CLEARLY WAS NOT STEALING and cop agreed.(cop recommended gift card ccw lesson or a call) They tell us not to go back till they call us never did!!! the OWNER IS DISRESPECTFUL AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUMSTOMER!!!!! never called said sorry or even let us know if we were allowed back. they have all our info and cant call??? but has no problem not looking at tape and or sending police. I vow to keep reviewing.
Ive read some of the reviews and I gotta say, I had zero issues there. The guy running the register was very polite, every counter I walked up to had someone there, they each asked me if I needed help, and the person saying Bob Sears is a fake account is full of it... I know the guy.
I have been to this range/store/waste of space multiple times. Every time I ask myself why I gave them another shot (haha!). The customer service is atrocious. I always leave disappointed in both the store section and the range. I will go to ANY locally owned and gun range instead, anytime. Hell, Id rather buy from Walmart!
Facility is nice and service was competent, but two employees at this location very unfriendly and openly mocking customers for asking too many questions, I have been to Cinci and Cbus locations without any complaints, however at Mentor location there are some real sour and bad attitude employees mixed in with some nice ones
I was going to take my time and write a lengthy review about how horrible this business is, but i realized i dont want to even waste my time. every negative thing written about this business by previous reviewers is absolutely accurate. being a manger in the service industry for the past five years, i know the proper way to conduct costumer service and i was personally appalled. ive been there three times and have never been impressed. to sum it up... overpriced (and like to shove it in your face), overzealous, and unprofessional. if youre reading this, take your hard earned money somewhere else, please.
Wife and I went in to the mentor store looking to pick up a handgun and a rifle scope. We were unable to get any help after 30 minutes and approaching two sales guys. One guy after I asked to look at a handgun just stared at me like he was high, then just walked away and hung out with another sales guy. I walked around a bit more asked again for help and the second guy said oh hold on and walked away never to return.
My experience was terrible I personally feel they racially profile people.I went 2 purchase a handgun it was 4 a nice price but I was delayed on my background they said they gauranteed holding it for 5 daysind u the one I choose was da last 1 I came back N 4 was supposed 2 get a call never did get there no one knew where the gun was like it was they brushed me saying whn evr they get another one they would call the whole scene was bad
The range is outstanding, and the selection of inventory is even better, only complaint on my part is ive been coming here for several monthes, afew times every other week and before I even came my first time to the range I called and asked whether they accept steel case ammo, I was told yes and this last time ive come out there I was questioned about what kind of ammo I use, and I was told not to use it...if these guys werent such ammo scrapping cheap skates I would of otherwise came again

Review №1
2022-06-17Ive been to this range many times. It has recently been bought out by brand USA used to be known as shoot point blank. They are very safety conscious. A new policy is that they charge you a $5 annual fee for liability. Im not quite sure what that is about but it probably goes to cover their liability insurance. I did not object to that. I took a basic membership because I will be shooting there at least once a month going forward. Basic membership gives you unlimited weekday access to the range. There are other membership levels as well. The store is well stocked both with firearms and ammunition. They also have a website. I ordered ammunition online cheaper than in the store and it will be shipped to the store for my pickup so there are no shipping charges. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

2022-07-06The class was awesome. It was my first time shooting a gun. The instructor was very knowledgeable and great at providing clear instructions. He was very helpful in all aspects of the class. I would recommend the class to everyone. It was well worth it.

2022-06-21Very dirty weapons. One malfunctioned when I was at the range. I cleared it, reloaded it and it would act as if it were on safe (trig would not pull). Also, we fired 2 handguns and both were extremely inaccurate even at close distances the spread was wild. When I asked if they clean them, the guy hesitated and then said not really. They would not let me clean it next time before using it.If you dont have your own weapon, I would advise to not waste your time here. Unless you just like the feeling of firing a gun without actually hitting anything. You guys should be cleaning the freakin guns after every use. No exceptions. Wasted money, wasted time.

2022-04-04I had only handled a gun once before taking the class. The instructor in class and on the range were both knowledgeable and kind. I learned the proper and safe way to handle my firearm. I was nervous but became comfortable quickly. Thanks!

2022-06-19Everything was excellent! Only problem was not getting full time to shoot as insurance presentation ran long ( but was very informative) … wife and I were very tired ( it was 10 pm) when we got our turn to shoot. I only got 18 shots out of my 50, wife got about 20…otherwise it was good

2022-02-07Evan Hustak (Mentor Store) did a great job, took the time to help and make everyone in the class a better shot.Only thing I wish I’d of done different was gone to the range at least one time before my class, I’ll explain. I’ve shot lots over the years, just out shooting on the farm, but have never shot in a range setting, I did lots of flinching. I think I was still jumping when the cannon next to me went off even after 100 rounds. Thanks, Dave

2022-03-15The employees are great! The range is decent and safe too.The pricing on transfers to use their FFL is ROBBERY. $75 EACH fire arm for 3 minutes worth of work is a joke.

2022-04-13Went here even after reading some of these reviews, even the negative ones. After witnessing the rudeness first hand and then seeing the price of the membership for what you get or should I say don’t get.no range I have ever been to in northeast or northwest Ohio charges a “waiver fee” so I left. Why would I want to one spend money with rudeness of the staff let alone pay for a membership so the staff can be rude to you. which by the way other nicer gun ranges have and compared the prices you get more for your dollar at other ranges. This will be my first and last visit. Will not return and will not recommend. Lastly I noticed who ever it is responding to these reviews doesn’t seem to care about customers concerns so it probably won’t improve much.

2022-03-25Ordered a gun online. It’s been longer than I was expecting. Had the assistant manger Justin call me today and told me he made some things happen to get me my order. The customer service Is fantastic. This would be my second firearm from them. I’d definitely recommend them.
