Positive: The location is great for my needs. The hotel is older and a little run down, but my room was very clean, and there was a great refrigerator with a freezer in the room, which was extremely convenient. The price was excellent & the staff was very friendly. Negative: No breakfast (even though on was advertised) but that really wasnt a big issue.
Positive: What I liked best about the hotel was the price, easy access from I-70, and the room was very quiet. I slept well. Overall, the hotel was good quality for the price. Negative: The hotel seemed a little deserted. I was going to park behind the hotel, but changed my mind when there wasnt a single car back there, so I parked on the side of the hotel beside another car.
Positive: I usually stay at higher star hotels but there werent any in the area. Reviews on this place were good, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Room was clean, staff was nice. Excellent value for the price I paid. Negative: There wasnt any wifi when I stayed. The outside of the hotel needs some work. ESP the second floor outside the rooms. All the wood is completely rotted and didnt feel safe to walk on in some spots.
Positive: The room was ok clean enough the beds were very comfy! Negative: Despite what the website says there is no pool, no wifi, and no breakfast. In the lobby, there is a portable sign with pictures of waffles and fruit and juice. I asked what time breakfast was and they said 6-9. The next day it was only a muffin in a bag.
Positive: Location Negative: Staff seemed to have low level of knowledge the area. Only ¿breakfast¿ was coffee, 5 apples, 3 bananas, waffle mix, packaged muffins (6), power bars (4). No milk, juice, or any other warm breakfast choices. Room was dirty, carpet was filthy.
Positive: I liked the location, it was set back from the main road enough to be quiet, and the view was pretty nice. Negative: The carpet in my room was filthy, and the bed was fairly uncomfortable. Its also IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of this hotel by phone if you need to contact them about anything. The advertised free breakfast also doesnt seem to exist.
PLEASE dont listen to any of the bad comments. For the money, this hotel was very nice. NO noise when I wanted to go to sleep. Very safe conditions. Frig. and Air work great. Everyone I came in contact with that was working the desk was helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great time. Jeff
The rooms here are inexpensive, so obviously the rooms arent going to be the highest quality. Knowing that when making my reservation, I was highly impressed with this place! Due to a power outage I needed a last minute reservation and they were able to set me up quickly and were a huge help. The staff was very pleasant. The room was clean had all the basic essentials needed (shampoo, soap, ect.) Their pet policy allowed up to 2 pets so both my puppy and cat were able to stay. They had a nice central grassy area where I could take my dog out and it had picnic tables and grills. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is desperately needing a cheap place to stay or if youre passing through and dont wanna pay an arm and a leg for a good nights sleep.
Positive: It was very clean and the staff was extremely nice and friendly. Negative: We chose this hotel because of free wifi in the rooms. My husband is a full time student and had to have internet access. The was none in our room which meant we had to go sit at McDonalds for hours.
When first checking in NO ONE except me was wearing a mask. The lady at the front desk told me that I still needed to pay for my room. I pulled up my bank account and told her no it’s already came out. She said something about me booking on a third party website, which I never do for this exact reason. I pulled up my conformation email showing that it was booked on their website. She said she was new so I wasn’t mean or nasty I work in customer service and understand things can happen. She called the manager and got us in our room. We booked a smoking room so the smell wasn’t pleasant, but that’s on us, I take full blame for that. However, we didn’t get all the channels they stated we would as well as the lights in the room didn’t really work. One one of four lights worked. They did not fix this issue, and they did not apologize about the lights or the tv not having all the channels.
Our stay here has been above exceptional! This hotel is situated up on a hill over-looking Cambridge, beautiful to see the city lights at night. They still have the best rates than their competitions here in Cambridge. Rooms are very modern, clean, neat and bug-free. We have stayed here for a few weeks now and have felt very safe during our stay. The staff keeps a watchful eye on the property at all hours and is quiet during night hours. The front desk staff are very welcoming and willing to accommodate for a great weekly rate for our stay. There is housekeeping and maintenance available everyday during day hours and are happy to refill our toilet paper, towels and bedding upon our request. Some staff say that they have been working overtime hours, I believe they deserve a raise or a good incentive for their loyalty to the company and their hard work. They do have Wi-Fi available for guest use, we do have cable with local news channels to watch in the morning. We have utilized their convenient and working onsite laundry, $2/wash and $2/dry. Breakfast is available every morning, coffee, juice, muffins and granola bars....if you didnt get any breakfast, ask the front desk staff if they have any more muffins, sometimes they havent had time to refill when the need arises. There is a convienent grassed area to take your pets to potty and a trash bin to put the doggy poop. There is an outside pool but it is closed. This hotel by far, is amazing for price, service, nice clean rooms, and safety. Our room had all lights in working order, microwave, mini-fridge in our room. Carpet is clean and our linens were clean. Convenient to gas station sheets at the bottom of hill. Come to Quality Inn of Cambridge! Easy 5 stars!
I liked the quiet area the hotel was in, and the view was nice. There wasnt any breakfast as far as I could tell on either day I stayed, and the carpet in the room could have been cleaner. Its also impossible to actually call the hotel if you need to get a hold of them, it seems like they dont answer their phones or something.
Horrible, the first room key we were given had other guest already occupying the room. Then when we returned to the front desk we were given a room with soaking wet carpet, and linens were dirty. This hotel was beyond a disaster. When we complained nothing was done, instead the excuse was given that the hotel was under new management.
The people in the office were nice house keeping showed up one time in a week never asked if we needed bathroom tissue clean towels or if we needed clean sheets we had to go the office ask them. They allow pets thats what I liked the most about the hotel would I recommend it NO!!! they also were double charging credit/debit cards.
When your first experience - before even entering - is that the lobby doors are filthy you immediately fear that you made a mistake in booking this hotel. Then you notice that the coffee table in the lobby is also filthy, your fears are further confirmed. When on the way to your room you see that the paint is chipped and maintenance is very poor you expect your room to be smelly and vile. When you enter your room and most of the light bulbs are burned out, you begin to become a bit angry. And those that are working do not even light the room your start fuming. And when you go to the lobby and ask for a bulb that is more than 60 watts and are told there are none, you now want a refund. Then the television does not work, and you now know that there is no manager of this hotel, and further that Quality Inns do not have a regional manager that is looking after the quality of the brand! Quality Inn now means Bad-Quality Inn to me.I will not even think about booking a Bad-Quality Inn in the future. The staff had to go to 3 different rooms to rob light bulbs that had sufficient wattage to make my room livable. After doing so those rooms will be unlivable, and they have NO light bulbs to put in them!
Our stay was alright. Dated building, rooms were clean for the most part but then there were the ANTS! Came in from outside through the small gap in the door. Probably to get out of the rain. Ants were located everywhere. Not an infestation but 5 located on table, several in shower floor area and some on sink counter. Didnt notice any on the bed but who knows. Did inform the front desk of this but he didnt bother offering us another room. It was late so we tolerated our room. The young man working the front desk was pleasant nonetheless. Price was reasonable for the rooms but wouldnt go back due to the insects. I do not recommend this establishment unless they rid those ants. Godspeed everyone.
Positive: Front desk staff was nice Negative: Room smelled so bad I had to buy air freshener .seemed many people live there drinking alone, doors open with portable grills in front on sidewalk. Fan in bathroom rattling loud so can¿t turn on light so no showering. Stained carpet, cracked tile. Horrib
Positive: It was a room with a bed. Negative: Looked like dry blood on the floor in the bathroom, bed top cover had a stain on it, shower unit was cracked and grout was coming apart everywhere. If I spend just shy of --- dollars, I expect the room to be clean and in better condition.
I was very satisfied with my recent stay at the Cambridge, Ohio Quality Inn. I was traveling with two of my dogs and stayed there 4 nights. Ground floor with parking in front of my room and door to my room right there. Easy to get my stuff in the room. Lots of grass, so dog friendly and affordable.
I arrived here two evenings ago and will be staying for 6 more nights as this area is central to at least 5 lakes that we are visiting on a fishing vacation. I need to mention that my wife and I are both seniors. My wife lost half a lung last spring to cancer, and I had both a heart attack and stroke last late summer. We are both VERY careful being in public as if either of us get covid, we would very likely not survive. This is why this information is relevant to this review. When I entered the office to check in I saw clearly posted on the door, the state mandate that a mask must be worn inside the building. As I entered, the first thing I see is a man at the counter without a mask. I excused myself and asked if he had a mask he could put on. The man said it was in his room. Before I could say anything else, the desk clerk says, he doesnt have to wear one in here, just stay away from him. At that time I saw that the clerk was not masked either! I told them that actually they were required my state mandate to do so. The woman clerk became angry and put her palm up to stop me from talking and said, this is my hotel and I make the rules here. I said do you even know whats written on the biggest sign on the door? She told me its a mandate, not a law and you can just stay 6 feet away. I attempted to explain that a mandate actually is a law. Its a power thats already provided to a governor, and that it doesnt require to first be a bill. She gave me her palm again and I said Im done talking to you I just want to check in. I had to interrupt her a couple more times telling her Im done, Im not going to argue with you. I signed in but before I left the office I asked her how long she had been the owner of Quality Inn and I wonder if the day clerk knew she was the owner... with a grin under my mask, not telling either of them that I was a retired cop.. The man who was still in the area said, the governor was stopping it in June anyway. All I could say is to day is May 13th.After a welcome like that on the very first time we were away to enjoy and relax since Early in 2020, I would be easy to give this place no stars, but Im an honest man and know it takes more than a desk clerk to run a hotel. Our room was nice with the exception of the smell of cigarette smoke in a non smoking room. The beds are very comfortable! The room was clean, plenty of easy parking and very quiet. I would stay here again... at least unless I had to deal with that same clerk. I considered contacting the corporate office telling them about our check in, but I decided to just put our story in this rating.
This place is horrible, I came to get things in order for my 36 yro sister who was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, who also had a stroke. This wasnt a vacation I used my paycheck to get here! By the time I left I was in the negative in my account and had to borrow to get home! Which made a bad situation worse. I contacted corporate (with a small c) because they couldnt even get a hold of the manager or the regional manager to stop them from taking out money from my Account! I woke up and money is still being withdrawn. They have taken $600 out of my account. And they blame it on a high turnover. They changed NY room because they hadnt cleaned it since our stay and the toilet was stopped up and they have bugs. This hotel has people who live there!
Too bad choice hotels dont send coupons to diamond members like Southwest airlines does to its elite frequent flyers to hand to employees who go above and beyond. I checked in after having an outpatient procedure and was having a hard time and Samantha at the front desk was awesome. She checked me in and walked over to help me unload my car since I could barely stand. Thank you thank you Samantha! This diamond members sure appreciates your customer service!!! Id give 5 stars but the property is really old although they do a good job keeping it up. Great staff, very friendly and helpful!
Positive: Easy to find Negative: I forgot my pillow when checking out. Tried to call hotel FOUR times to try to retrieve it. No one answered and no answering machine picked up. Severely understaffed issue. I was disappointed there was no coffee and I couldn¿t come to breakfast to eat.
Positive: Hotel clean fun and perfect just a little too expensive for my taste I wish I would have took advantage of the 10% discount being a VIP member. Negative: The hotel is perfect a little too expensive I wish I would have took advantage of being a VIP member and use my discount.
Horrible checked in around 3:50 left at 4:30 we scheduled a king room got a double full room asked for a play pen went down to.get it the lady stormed off and was very rude.(lazyness) went down to just check out and find another hotel lady didnt even stand up from folding towels and said she would take care of it . Without physically doing anything to cancel my room. Didnt get a refund horrible horrible place said she couldnt refund till Monday and said it wont even happen never will be back
The hotel was great. Staff was friendly. Room was cleaned daily. Always had fresh towels. The bed was comfy. Hotel breakfast was delicious. The only complaint we have was the condition of the carpet in the room. It was so dirty it left our feet black. We had to start wearing shoes in the room to keep our feet clean.
Fantastic Hotel Great location with views of the town. Clean room and fresh bedsheets. everything worked. Breakfast was very good. Housekeeping does an excellent job and Terry, Jamie at the front desk are awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely come back again.
I have stayed here many, many times. I have yet to be disappointed. The rooms, beds, and sheets are always fresh and clean. The rooms are small, yet very comfortable. There is ample room to eat, work on laptop, and the television rotates easily. At times my doggies travel with me, and they are obviously pet friendly. The Front Desk staff has new faces, but the service is always great. Beth is always so helpful and she treats everyone with dignity and respect.
This place is awesome. We had a lovely time. We stayed five days and it was great the whole time. We travel with two Standard Poodles and there were good places to walk them around the motel and the other businesses. The breakfast was very nice. We enjoyed it every morning. Our room was clean and pleasant. We did not use the fridge or microwave but it was nice to have that option available to us. We will stay here again.
The Quality Inn was a convenient place to stay near The Wilds where a Spartan race was being held. Upon arrival the room (136) had an ozone machine running to help with the smell in the room (apparently a smoker was in the room at some point). As I was carrying my luggage into the room staff came over and warned me not to go in the room as it wasnt safe because of the excess ozone. He and another staff worked to get me moved to another room (140). All told it was maybe 5 minutes to get it sorted. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to the situation and should be commended on awareness of the situation and willingness to help. Room 140 was clean and smelled neutral. The bed was comfortable and the fridge and microwave were useful and clean. All in all a decent functional room. Breakfast was standard fare although I would have liked oatmeal on the menu. The only thing I didnt like was the advertised price versus the actual price after fees, tax, etc. As an industry Id like to see the published price include all fees and taxes so you know up front the actual cost of a room.
This is a very lucky find for a worn and weary traveler. After a very long drive from New York City, it was nice to see a beautiful pool that was very clean, and a beautiful vista from hilltop. The breakfast was very well cooked and prepared. The sausage was dark brown as it should be, ensuring that there was no under cooking and the hot plates electric so there was no risk of losing the heat. There were many choices for your breakfast, far more than I would have expected for the very very reasonable rate I was charged. It was $65 before I claimed my senior citizen discount. The front door staff were very welcoming and sweet, both during check-in and check-out.The room was quite large and everything was fairly clean. It is conveniently located next door to a Dennys, which is sitting at the bottom of the hill. Keep an eye out, and you will see wildlife.
This hotel was recently renovated and they did a great job. The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were comfy and soft. It was decorated very nicely and had new furnishings. It also had a refrigerator which was very useful. Also there was a microwave. There was a full hot breakfast. There were many choices and it was very good. Cant say enough about the staff. They were so pleasant and helpful! It was located right off the interstate and there were lots of restaurants nearby. The price was good and I would recommend it for sure.
My overnight stay at this hotel was restful. It was quiet, my room was clean and the breakfast was perfect. If your looking for an excellent value, this is the place. They even have a nice outdoor pool to use in the warmer weather. I was very satisfied with my stay and will stay here again if I am in the area.
This is a great, budget friendly motel. Easy access from the outside to your room, can pull right up to the door for easy unloading. Free continental breakfast was nice, both the nighttime and daytime clerks were friendly and helpful. It is old and in need of upgrades, for example the tile in the bathroom had some cracks and the carpet was threadbare. But, it wasnt dirty. The bathroom counter was clean, the sheets and pillows smelled like fresh bleach and nothing was sticky. Not a destination luxury hotel but a perfect, inexpensive option to just sleep for the night. Id definitely stop here again if Im not traveling with someone who is stuffy.
This hotel is a good value. There are a number of restaurants close by, even within walking distance. The pool looked uncleaned, though the hotel staff did check the ph balance while I was there. I decided not to swim though. The breakfast was decent and had the typical items of hotels at this price. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my overnight stay. The front desk area has quite a few food and drink items to purchase for your stay, including food that can be heated in the rooms microwave and adult beverages. There is a mini fridge in each room as well. Wifi and cable TV with HBO as well.
Probably one of the better Quality Inns we have stayed. Location is great and this is hands down the best deal for your buck in this area. Our room is clean and neat, everything looks new. Bed is comfy and shower is clean.Hot breakfast is as good as you can get for a $60 (tax included) night.Definitely will stay again if we are in this area.
I placed my reservation with Quality Inn Cambridge Hotel Staff - Very Smooth transaction. Upon arrival the Check In Staff had our Doors Keys already made and signed us in immediately. We were informed of the Complimentary WiFi and Breakfast, and off we went to our room. The room was clean, neat and the bed was excellent. We had a quick departure in the morning and even then the staff made it seem effortless. Thank you for a great stay and great Staff.
The staff was extremly friendly and made me feel very welcome during my stay. I noticed the facilities were being upgraded which should make future stays even more enjoyable. Breakfast was great, good selection, well stocked in a very nice setting. This was not the first time I stayed at this location and will likley not be the last. I pass through once a year. Please pass on to the staff a well done from me.
This hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. Room was a nice size and had been remodeled. The linens were clean as was the bathroom. Cannot say enough about the value for the money. Great place to stay. The breakfast was very good. Staff was attentive to keeping it stocked.
A+ Great Value. My son and I stayed there 4 nights. The staff is very friendly--Everyone of them! The food is great (not just basic continental). Not too many places you get a good hot breakfast for around $50 a night. Not a brand new motel by any means but its clean, and kept up. What more can you ask for? Best value for sure! We will be back next year!
The staff were polite and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was satisfactory. There was a nice selection of items and was presented well. The eggs were a little funky. Overall, a pleasantexperience and based on this, I have already stayed at another Quality Inn on our way home.
After driving 12 hours, it was great to be greeted by a friendly desk clerk and a goody bag as a Choice Rewards member. I noticed lobby area was clean and upgraded. I always inspect the room upon entering and am please to inform readers it was really clean - bathroom corners and all baseboard areas were super clean and I left a note for housekeeping letting them know I appreciated it (along with a good tip)!! Breakfast selection was good, well organized, and well stocked. Again, the breakfast area was also clean and young woman overseeing it was very friendly. I will be driving to DC area about 4 times in the next 12 months and I plan to stay here each time in-route.
This hotel was convenient to the meetings we were attending. The staff was very courteous and willing to assist us with restaurant recommendations, directions and any other needs. We were disappointed that the hotel did not have luggage racks. Also, the sheets on our bed were frayed and so thin you could read a newspaper through them. The bed itself was very comfortable. The cleanliness of the room was very good. It is too bad a few small items that can be easily correct can reflect negatively on this facility. They really could be an award winner!
Very, very clean! We arrived late without a reservation and got a smoking room, yet when we walked in, there was absolutely no sign of cigarette smoke, room did not smell like air freshener, either. The filters in heater were clean! Tricia at the front desk is the best! She has worked there for many years, is very helpful, friendly, and makes sure customers are very well taken care of - Quality Inn has a gem of an employee. We could not believe how clean our room was, cleaner than more expensive and upscale hotels. This location is older, but renovated. Even the outdoor areas and balcony walkways were extremely clean- we did not see any cigarette butts or garbage anywhere. There are boot brushes at bottom of stairways, plenty of cigarette disposal cans, nice courtyard between buildings to walk pets, large parking lots, tractor trailers can get up the hill fine - Tricia guided truck driver on the phone while looking out window. Great breakfast variety, newer laundry room, drinks and food available to purchase in office.Great shower / bathtub, comfy beds, we also liked the fact that all rooms open to the outside. Oh, and the pillows were awesome!
The Hotel room its self appeared very clean . You can tell there had been some updates done already. It had a nice tv, nice bathroom counter tops, the desk was nice and even the fridge and microwave were new. The mattresses were not bad however the pillows were a little flat. I booked ahead of time and paid for it prior to coming to have the discount and over all out of all of the hotels I stayed in in Cambridge I liked it the best. the rooms were pretty clean and I was happy with it. There were a lot of out of town workers but it was very quiet up on top of the hill. I recommend staying here just bring your own pillow :)
This hotel was clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. A nice thing was location, as we had been on the road for a couple days we were so glad that the hotel was close to grocery store, gas, restaurants, and close to expressway. We were also pleased that the hotel did offer smoking. Yes we know its not good for you but we do smoke and it is nice to be accommodated just like non-smokers.
Great check in good rooms clean and the staff from front desk management down were great.i ended up booking through Travelocity due to a family death and I ended up checking out a day earlier then booked. I was owed a refund but according to the hotel the dont give refunds or adjustments through third party booking. Nowhere in Travelocity or this hotels website mentioned anything about that. They have refused to communicate with me now and will not refund my $$. I will no longer use this hotel and neither will any of my family when they visit. If u value ur money dont stay here they will rob u blind
2nd to worst we had ever stayed at. Beds looked like someone made them then laid in them. Coffee make was disgustingly dirty. Desk chair looked like it came out of an automotive garage. Had an issue checking in and a 45 minute wait to check out due to no one could be found for the front desk. The baseboards were very dirty.Housekeeping staff were sitting on steps outside smoking and wouldnt move so we could get to the car. Very unfriendly. Will not stay here again.
I drive from NY to KY about once a month. If I can’t make the drive, this hotel is just about half way. Having made the trip many times I know of many hotels along the way, this is my favorite (especially considering the price). I typically have my dog and equipment. Every time they give me a room with easy unload access to the room door. The staff has gone out of their way several times to be accommodating and the front desk friendliness is amongst the best I’ve experienced anywhere. I quite literally plan some of my travel days around the travel time to this hotel. You may be able to find something similar but I won’t ever waste time searching for someplace else within an hour of this hotel. Great experiences 6 different times now.
Hotel was a little dated but was clean & staff very friendly & helpful. Very nice breakfast buffet with a wide selection. Very nice young lady was constantly refreshing food. Unfortunately waffle maker wasnt working during our stay. My only other concern was the fact we had no security lock to use at night & there were several loud late night guests out.
First room I was placed in had ants. Immediately called the office and Carrie was a joy. She immediately switched me to another room. She even went in and checked it out personally before she put me in there. Room was spotless. Bed was clean and comfortable. Hotel is easy on off from highway with multiple options for dining within walking distance. Definitely recommend this hotel and would come back.
This place is awesome. Even better for the price. I was greeted by 4 different staff members while walking in. The room was clean and within minutes of being in my room I received a call to make sure everything was good in my room. Outstanding service! Simple, clean room, but cant beat this place service. I would stay here over and over again! The only thing I dont like is the water pressure, but thats being nit picky.
... proved to be comforting and pleasant experience. Being stranded in the area waiting on car repairs -- the staff was more than helpful from the check in, through breakfast and check out. It truly seemed like a family atmosphere in the lobby. Clean and up-to-date, the rooms were spacious and remodeled. Fridge, Micro and fast WiFi. Just what the mechanic ordered. Dont forget the munchies/drinks for $$ in the lobby.Thank you!
This hotel was a decent stop on a long vacation drive. The gift bag upon arrival was a really nice touch. We didnt get to use the pool, but it did look inviting. Its too bad the area surrounding the hotel is not a very pleasant view, in fact there is an empty building right next door that should totally be taken down. The only note I would make is that hotels need to stop using the tiny pillows and go back to using standard size pillows.
We were very disappointed with our stay this time around, we have stayed here many times in the past few years and this was the worst experience we have had. There was black mold in the exhaust vents of both air conditioners in the room, one of which made a very loud ticking noise constantly, and the other in the bedroom did not cool much at all. There were stains on the walls, sheets, and ceiling. There was a lot of dust on the curtains and valances. The fan in the bathroom did not work and was about to fall through the ceiling tile, the bathroom door did not lock, and the water had a strong bleach or chlorine smell to it. The door to the room did not even close completely and there was a constant mildew smell in the room. There were spiders and webs all over the balcony. Wifi was basically non-existent, I have to sit in the lobby in order to use the wifi to do work or use up my phone data because it would not connect for more than 30 seconds at a time. There was a chunk of mold or something that looked to be mold in ice from the ice machine in the hall. Parking was not adequate. And did not even mention that we were Diamond members. I have stayed at much better in Gatlinburg for much less, you would expect top quality with the pricing this hotel has and that definitely is not what you will get. The property is dated and in desperate need of a remodel and much closer attention to basic maintenance and cleanliness. We wasted our points on this stay but still for the amount we had to use I am sure we could have had much better and we are very disappointed. The staff as a whole was decent but there were some that just seemed bothered. The only highlight was breakfast but even then there was nowhere near enough seating. I am finding that I am becoming disappointed with the Choice brand as a whole as of late. We stayed in a King Suite on the 4th floor.
Our stay here was great. Everything was perfect. The price, the hotel itself, the room and the staff were all perfect. This was a good stop over for us. I highly recommend it with no hesitation. If youre going to be in the area this is the place to stay. Theres no negative points about this place.
Checked into this motel after 14 hours of driving. Accommodations were older but comfortable. Room was on the small side but there was only one of me. Bed was very comfortable. Coffee in lounge area was not hot. Appreciated coffee pot in room. Made no effort to use WiFi.
Unexpected excellence for the price! Clean rooms and very friendly staff. Great free breakfast! The hotel is tucked away up on a hill, so every night is quiet. Various stores and restaurants are within walking distance, so its also very convenient. It was the best hotel experience I have had for the price. Well be back again!
Katz motel, anyone? This place is SO run down that youd never believe it. I didnt see the pool, but after going through the room, that night, I didnt want to near it. In the room, there were stinks bugs, random cracks and torn wall paper, the electrical boxes were exposed and, the tub was patched now replace allowing you to know that there was no real stability to it. It felt weak under my feet. I been to choice hotels. This hotel looked like something out of a horror flick. Staff was not educated about the town they live in. Asked where the library was. No one knew that library was a thing that was up the road. The people at Walmart knew where the library was. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Oh I forgot, the beds made our backs hurt.
I am not one to write reviews, but I want to let everyone know that I had a fabulous stay at the Quality Inn in Cambridge, Ohio. I am pretty fussy, but there was absolutely nothing to fuss about. All I could do was praise the total experience. I called in advance because I was concerned about the weather and the staff person looked at the weather conditions for my drive. When I arrived she was very welcoming. The room was great. I travelled with my teen-age daughter and our dog. All three of us were smiling the whole time we were there. I give the this Quality Inn ten stars!
The rooms were clean, staff friendly and helpful. The bed was a little too firm for our likes, we had just run a 14+ mile race, so this was a pretty big deal our second night! The bathrooms are somewhat small and cramped for anyone over 5 tall. I kind of expected larger rooms as the QI in VA had rooms that were almost twice the size of this one.
Thank you to Lori @ the front desk. You and your staff are a blessing. My husband left his wallet behind. Needless to say due to an honest staff, we have it back with nothing missing or done through. This place is wonderful. It comfy, quiet, affordable, accommodating, good breakfast, clean and the staff is amazing.
Very disappointed. Carpet in the room old and dirty. Im not say it was not vacuumed because it was, im saying you cant clean it anymore and it needs to be replaced.Huge chip in the tub and bathroom floor tile. Few times while showering water got very, very hot. Second floor walkway is made of wood and scary soft while walking. OWNERS need to update this place. I will say staff is very friendly.
The hotel is located above the noise of traffic and close to natural areas that have been maintained close to the creek basin.Staff was efficient and pleasant to work with.Room was clean. Air conditioner worked well. For all the workers who were staying there, the noise of vehicles was amazingly sparse.
Would give neg 10 do not go to this place had rooms booked with confirmation number and so did 2 other couples that were there and they gave are rooms to other people signs up saying hot food come join us for breakfast that didn’t have any no wifi no phone been down for over a week the staff said then they also said pool was open and it was not laid about that please go to another hotel worst experience in my life and I’m 40
Very friendly staff, good room. I arrived late in the night and got the last room available, a smoking room. The cleaning staff had done a good job to keep the smell to a minimum. I could hardly smell the odor. Breakfast was OK. I know it is hard to keep pancakes and french toast hot without overcooking, so I forgive the cold french toast.
The checking in process was smooth. We slept good. A good selection for breakfast. The over done bacon and scrambled eggs were just about gone when I presented for breakfast. A quick trip to the check in counter corrected that. Bacon and eggs were both provided in a reasonable time. The trash receptacle was overflowing when I left.
This Quality Inn property shows its age, both in the exterior-access room arrangement and in some of the fixtures and furnishings. What sets it apart is the price (A great deal for a room on I-70), the friendliness of the staff and cozy amenities of its breakfast room. The motel is pet-friendly and people-friendly. Since we had a small dog, we werent put off by the dampness of the old carpeting near the exterior wall heating/ac unit. Either an animal accident had been cleaned or there was some leakage from the HVAC. No big deal. The motel sits atop a hill about a half mile from I-70, so the noise level is okay. For a quick overnight spot, easy on the budget and a place where youll feel welcome.
Poor customer service. Booked two rooms well in advance of our stay, but an employee of the hotel changed our room type from two beds to one bed - which did not suit the needs of our family. Hotel staff responded poorly to the situation - no apology, no remedy, no compensation. Front desk told me to come back to speak to the manager, but the manager never showed up at the times they told me to come to the desk.
Very professional staff. Anything I needed from the front counter was addressed. I asked for a room near an exit door and on the first floor, as I smoke..She did exactly that... the internet was real good, even though I was at the very end of the hall. I would stay here again. The manager also had a little gift bag to acknowledge me as a gold member of Choice Hotels.
Its a great place and its location for me is a perfect place to stay. By the time I show up at the motel Id already drivin over 400 hundred miles and delivered 5 stops so Im pretty well beat and ready for a good night sleep and I get that much needed sleep here. I just wish I could get hot coffee. I dont like complaining but I have said something about this matter and got no results. Overall a good place for me to stay.
As I have stated in my previous comments, this is a wonderful hotel with the best customer service. The level of service is only exceeded by the friendliness of the hotel staff. The rooms are extremely clean and the grounds are well kept. I have stayed here numerous times, and plan on returning every time I visit our oil & gas operations in this area.
We arrived just as a major winter storm arrived. Later that night, sheriff declared the county to have a Level Two snow emergency. (Ohio has three levels.) The hotel sits up on a hill overlooking all the other restaurants and hotels at the interstate exit and to get to it, you have to go up a long kind of steep hill, then due a U turn to the hotel. I was extremely concerned that we would be stuck up there. The woman at the front desk assured me their lawn maintenance company would keep the parking lot and driveway down the hill cleared. The next morning at about five, I awoke to find several inches of snow, and two foot drifts, over a layer of ice. The little truck with the blade in front was going round and round the parking lot and when we left at 10:30, while the temperature was lower single digits, we had no problem getting out. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was fresh and clean. I used the wifi to watch Madmen on Netflix with no buffering at all. The breakfast was typical and good. Egg patties, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, waffles, muffins, bagels, toast, etc., fruit, and all the rest. Also a pitcher of chocolate milk. There is a Dennys just below the hotel, and a Cracker Barrel beyond that, among other places to eat. There were a variety of snacks and drinks for sale behind the front desk. We were very pleased.
The hotel could use updating. The wallpaper is some areas is falling down. The bath room appliances have a scale/rust stain and build up. The hot water is hit or miss, sometimes for no reason it will get super hot. On the plus side the beds and pillows are comfortable.
Started staying here when the 2 Choice options at the bottom of the hill were too expensive. Man, am I glad I did. The team here provides tremendous customer service, and the rooms are smaller, but clean and comfortable. It is at the top of a hill, away from traffic and the interstate. Finding the drive off the main road is a little confusing, but overall, it is the best value I have found. And I have stayed at over 200 different Choice properties over the last 2 years.
I stay here quite often and have always loved the place and people. I’ve noticed a women at the front falling asleep while looking at the computer screen & reading a newspaper. She always looks high and out of her mind. I asked her for stuff, she doesn’t reply, nor make eye contact ( which she can barely hold her eyes open) Very rude. If I recall correctly her name is Jamie. I would recommend giving her a drug test or firing her one. Other then one employee the others are awesome & the house keepers are fantastic!
We have stayed here probably the last 5 times we have been in Cambridge. We could always stay with my family but it is nice to have our own space and privacy. We have rarely had any issues and if we did they were fixed in a very timely manner. Definitely will be staying here again when we return.
Choice hotels get it right with this hotel. Great WiFi connection and speed, rooms have refrigerator/Freezer and microwave, staff go out of there way to be friendly and helpful and breakfast is good for a room of this price. We always stay in this hotel and Choice hotels generally - when traveling.
We checked in, girl gave us a 2 goody bags, really nice, we thought this was going to be a great place. when we got to room the carpet looked pretty dirty, so kept shoes on. i spilled a little ice water on floor by bed, used a hand towel to wipe it up, the towel was filthy! the carpet needed cleaned a long time ago, .we were charged way too much for this choice motel. we stay at choice motels because, they are always clean, but this one wasnt! we reported it, she knocked off $10.00,not enough ,this is more like a $50.00 motel! also had SPIDERS! said oil men were making it dirty, so what, clean it daily or dont charge so much!!!!
I used rewards points to rent 2 rooms. one was ready and the other was incomplete. the bed frames were not put together and the matresses and box springs were placed vertically against the dressers with no bedding available.the only room available was a smoking room and it smelled disgusting, but i had to stay there. Completly UNSAT!!
This Quality Inn had to be good to prepare us for our longest and most arduous travel day. So, I was willing to book and pay in advance in anticipation of a good outcome. These hopes were rewarded. Henceforth, I always checked the availability of Quality Inns in places where I intended to stop. All the basics were there: clean, efficient, handsome decor. Besides, it made the focus of the stay our rest and plans, not adjustment to less than perfect conditions.
If I could give this place a 0 rating I would. Buyer beware DO NOT BOOK HERE. Booked this room through Travelocity. When I arrived for my two non-smoking rooms the desk clerk admitted that they were very busy and had given my non smoking rooms away. They only had smoking rooms left. I then said I wanted a refund. The place said they could not refund me because their manager wasnt there and I would have to go through Travelocity anyway. We left the hotel thinking that Travelocity would be able to get my money back and stayed at another hotel. I called Travelocity and they cant get me a refund until the Quality Inn manager approves it. Ive been waiting for 4 days and every day when Travelocity tries to get a hold of the manager they say he is not there. I doubt the manager will ever show up. It is a total scam.
The hotwl was on the top of a hill that looks out onto the main road. It was about a 20 minute drive to salt fork state park. The staff was helpful in direction and suggesting restaraunts in the aream the room was clean. They were able to move my reaervation drom smoking to non. The bathroom lights were a little dim but overall it was a good experience for the price
Day of check in Lady at desk was rude told her 2pm check out said she put us down for it. 1130 day of checkout cleaning Lady opens the door without knocking or announcing herself while we were still laying in bed. The toilets didnt flush and the shower turned scolding hot then cold the whole time...couldnt even take a relaxing shower.. The Lady at the front desk called at 1230 wanting to know if we were staying again BC the Lady the night before didnt put us down for late checkout. Just an awful experience and will not be back there
Planned to stay three nights, ended up only staying one night. Woke up with a “friend” in the bed!! Manager wasn’t there at first and the front desk was going to make me use my own money to use the clothes dryers for my stuff!! Manager came before that happened and didn’t make me pay for them. And after all this, they only refunded $20 plus tax from my bill. Can’t speak on the WiFi, amenities and breakfast because I didn’t use them.
We stayed one night here and had a satisfactory stay. Only one very different item noticed......the flooring was very extra sensitive and noisy. Hard to move even a couple normal steps without making too much noise!!!! Dont know why????? We didnt mention it to any staff. Probably should have questioned why?
Hello Friends,Just wanted to comment on what a super nice hotel your place is at the Quality Inn in Cambridge. Very nice rooms, updated baths, and super nice grounds. In addition, your staff were very friendly, efficient and quick to sort things out. Thanks again for the pleasant stay. We will see you all in October. Thanks and have a great day,Carrie
We have stayed here 3x in the last year and everyone is just as great as the last. This visit we came to my hometown to visit for Mothers Day. The staff was nice as could be and it was wonderful coming back to the room after such a busy day. The staff was excellent and very helpful and the room was perfect.
You have and are doing a real nice remodeling job since our last stay. If I was going to recommend anything, it would be to separate the construction people and regular guest staying quarters. We encountered too much MUD and SMOKING where you put us. I would also put tile or plastic down in front of the entrance doors to the rooms, the construction people staying there are running the carpers ! Hope this helped.A Retired Manager,Mr. Brownrigg
Traveling across country needed a room and last minute they were available to help super acoomodating when we arrived late they allowed us to stay an hour late it was really appreciated! The night clerk who checked us in was also super friendly! Also the maid left a cute little night to enjoy our stay added a personal little touch
This hotel is for families with kids because of the location of the rooms as they relate to the poolarea. If you dont want to deal with screaming and yelling children get a room NOT facing the poolarea. Ask ahead of time about room location, PLEASE!!!Also, some things in room did not work or were difficult to work and carpet was very dirty.
I dont usually stay at quality inn due to a bad experience before. This quality inn has changed my mind about staying again. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and nice. They gave us suggestions on what to do in the area since we were from out of town. A+ hotel and staff. If im back in Ohio again I will definitely be staying with you guys! Thanks for a great stay.
Bummed that I mistakenly booked this stay through choice hotels and was unable to change the payment credit card to my choice rewards visa. I called choice hotels to change the card and was given the run around by 3-4 different unknowledgeable representatives. A lot of time was wasted on what should be a very simple task. Based on the extremely poor customer service by choice hotels I am going to cancel the credit card and use other lodging options in the future when possible. You guys really need to update your systems to be more customer oriented. There are apparently no customer service supervisors to help when your inept representatives cant or wont help your customers.

2021-12-12You can tell the hotel is older the second you pull up. However, the front office staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was clean but showed obvious signs of aging and previous neglect. The carpet was heavily stained and the weather strolling around the door was gone, allowing for a noticeable draft on a 20 degree night. The bed was very comfortable though and seemed to be pretty new, no stains or sign of pests.

2022-06-20Positive: There had been a big storm that day in town where power was out all night. We were able to find this hotel. From check in to check out was a great experience. We would stay here again. Negative: Like I said there was a power outage and the only bad thing was that the tv had no cable but that could had been because of the storm.

2022-02-21Located up on a hill. Nice people and clean place to stay. A little weathered but easily the best value of any motel around! Great outdoor pool for summer!

2022-05-30Positive: For solo travelers, this is a decent option in the Cambridge area of Ohio, I was on a road trip. Staff were great. There was an issue with my room, they upgraded me and moved me upstairs. Negative: It is a bit older and could use some upgrades. Id say if youre on a budget and/or traveling, not a bad option in this area.

2022-06-13Positive: The location Negative: Yes. The curtains were ripped, bleach stain on chair seat, hair on bathroom floor, bloody thumbprint on bathroom wall, tv only has three channels ( oxygen, QVC, ID). No protein offered for breakfast. No hot tub and pool was closed.

2022-03-12We have stayed at other Quality Inns and were happy with our stay. But on this stay our room was not up to our expectations. The microwave was broken - the door would not open and someone elses food was still inside of it because of this. The refrigerator was not plugged in so we could not put our cold food in it because it was warm. Also the toilet had some extensive black staining and should be replaced. The coffee pot had parts missing so it was not usable. Also the chair at the desk was in very poor condition and should be replaced.
