I wouldnt have even given one star but you cant give zero. I stayed at the quality inn on April 30 after my apartment caught fire because I had no place else to go. I lost everything in the fire. I had no car or cash on me. At about 1am I was so hunger I went down to the lobby to see if there was an atm. They did not have an atm and the vending machine only took cash. Nobody was behind the desk. I couldnt find any workers. So I looked in the cupboard where they serve breakfast and found some granola bars. So I grabbed 2. I started to head back up to the room when an employee marched into the lobby yelling at me that I cant take them they are for breakfast in the morning. So I asked well I have no cash do you have an atm? He said no you can walk to the gas station. So I put them back and went up to my room hungry and upset. The next morning there was a different guy behind the desk. I asked to speak with the manager and he told me no. I said what? Why? I said my issue is not with you its with the man that was here last night. He wouldnt give me any info and was very rude. Today I finally got the manager on the phone. He was just as rude. Told me I was in the wrong. Didnt believe that I was a fire victim and called me a fin B before I hung up on him. And I still havent received my 50 dollar security deposit back.
Positive: Nothing special about this hotel at all average at best. Negative: Nothing special about this hotel at all average at best. The outside of the building was in terrible shape. The parking lot had potholes in everywhere weeds growing in the landscaping everywhere. They do not take care of the property.
This place is great. The energy is perfect. Everyone on the inside is helpful patient and gentle. They do anything they can to accommodate your needs. The hotel itself is horrible. Run down. The shower is super slippery and has no water pressure. I have a handicap room. Thank god I do because I needed to shave and couldn’t if I didn’t have help from the chair. Your essentials fall into the tub and everything.I parked in a handicap spot (I’m healing an injury). The lot by the spot is so icy! Why? Sad. No automatic doors so if you are actually handicap don’t come here. The needs they give you like soap and lotions are awful. I am a woman. One tiny bottle of conditioner did nothing for me. And you can’t take the cap off to add water to make it last. The soap is the size of an Andes mint and I didn’t even bother with it.Overall, just help this location out!!The staff is amazing and deserve appreciation.
Hotel and room was clean. Pet friendly, which is nice. We didn’t have our dogs with us this time but will probably stay here again (our son lives very close by) and feel comfortable bringing the dogs. Water was hot doe the shower. The only complaint was that the towel and washcloths smelled like cigarette smoke.
2 stars since the place is clean and the guy at the front desk is nice. Other than that…spend a little money on your business. Outside is looking run down, absolute worse shower I’ve ever taken…no water pressure at all. Didn’t even replace the toilet paper roll and the soap is the size of Andes mint.
Friendly front desk staff, truck parking on back/side, got a nice clean queen bed room with microwave and refrigerator. TV might be little small only 32 inch but was mounted to wall just above bed and angled towards bed nicely. Might be just bit dated but overall nice stay and will be back.
Very Clean, Friendly, and Not Smokey... like so many other places who advertise No Smoking. Small room with King Size bed, but very efficiently set up, nice fridge and round the clock coffee available in the rooms and at the kitchenette.Weve chosen to extend our stay here.
Positive: Clean, well-maintained room overall. Loved the hard-boiled egg option at breakfast. Good for our purposes: a good nights sleep while traveling across the country. Negative: The pocket door to the bathroom right off the very small one-queen room was stuck, so the bathroom was not private! This was not a huge issue for an old married couple like us, but. . . . ALSO, there was a waffle maker but no waffle batter at breakfast.
NO elevator, so if you need a ground floor room book accordingly. Ended up on ground floor in only available room. Expected a queen size bed, got a double in the wheelchair accessible room. Bathroom had a wheelchair accessible shower that also proved to be a challenge in keeping the floor dry.
Dirty room with rude management.I had requested and been given a late checkout. The next the the manager rudely woke us and kicked us out.The room wasnt clean and things were falling apart, despite the room being overpriced. The door handle to the room connecter had a screw out when we got here. It came out totally upon being touched.
I shop around to find the best price and a good safe clean room. Found it here and was not disappointed. This hotel has been around a while but my room looked like it had new carpet, new stand up shower (no tub). Probably remodeled recently. Was able to park by my room window. Reservation and check in / out went smoothly like its suppose to. Walking distance to Bob Evans.
Booked a room at Motel 6 in Medina and after a quick walk through of the room decided theres no way I was staying with my family, especially with COVID concerns...absolutely disgusting with the level of dirt thats accumulated that no one seemed to care enough to clean. Quality Inn...completely different story! Perfectly spotless room! Tastefully styled. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Everything in the room worked. Nice sized refrigerator that was also clean. Bathroom and shower very accommodating. They allowed our big Boxer with a reasonable fee. Very friendly and polite front desk service. Great experience and felt safe and happy to stay with my wife and little girl! Thank you so much Quality Inn of Brunswick!!
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were nice. The decor seemed a little dark/outdated, but amenities advertised were all there. Breakfast area was clean which was nice to see, and the selection of the food was good. I really liked the cinnamon maple waffle mix. Thank you to all for a nice stay.
Older hotel but still good and clean. Need to make the hotel all non smoking. My room was non smoking but it was right underneath a smoking room and my room smelled like someone had smoked a cigarette in it every time I came back to it. I had to keep the bathroom exhaust fan going all the time and that helped some. Other than that I have no other complaints. Everyone I have dealt with have been very helpful and they have a nice breakfast every morning. There is a refrigerator and small microwave in the rooms which make it nice especially when you are staying almost a week like I am. Pet friendly also.
I stayed here for three nights recently. It was clean, and the furnishings were in good condition. It was less expensive than other hotels in the area (about $75/night including taxes, compared to about $110) although I still thought was a bit too expensive. I didnt interact much with the staff, but everyone I met was professional and seemed efficient. The refrigerator in the room made a loud noise, but I just unplugged it. Breakfast was included, but I skipped it because it didnt compare to what you could get in any restaurant. Theres no workout room or pool, which I knew about before booking. The area doesnt have a lot to offer travelers, but the hotel is located just off an I-71 exit, so its convenient for short stays. Overall, I was satisfied.
The hotel wasnt bad but we booked a whirlpool room and we were checked into the room where the tub was not working. The kind gentleman at the front desk said the cold water had problems turning off and if we had a hard time turning it off to call down. We couldnt turn it off so he had to come in and try to turn it off. He removed the panel in front to turn it off at the source and apologized. When I went and talked to the manager the next day saying we would be willing to stay the next night and wanted to be charged for 2 nights at the regular room rate because we did not get what we paid for with the whirlpool tub he refused. I asked for a different whirlpool room and they had none. The manager had an awful attitude and was very rude when I was trying to work out a solution. We left being over charged the one night and had a horrible experience with the manager. I will never stay at this property again and we travel to this area quarterly.
Nice, affordable clean rooms. Customer service was really nice. And the room was great for the price per night.I see most people are giving it a negative review because they are expecting 5 star service. If you need a place to crash for the night then this is it. If your looking for a great hotel experience to where your going to stay in it the whole night and do anything other than work or sleep then move on.Still keeping the 5 star review because it is good for the price.
The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Check-in and Check-out was awesome. The lobby and breakfast areas are very small. The carpets at the common corridor should be changed as it looked very old but not smelly. The rooms should be upgraded from double beds to Queen beds which will give more space and comfort when two adults are sleeping in a bed. The standing bathroom cubicle was awesome. Never seen just a roomy standing bathrooms so far.
Not a bad place for a decent price. Have stayed in this hotel twice in the last month for family concerns, driving from Florida. Front desk very nice, helpful. Had to move rooms due to heat issues. Heater either doesnt work or works too much. Not really a ☺ medium. Sister has stayed a month and has had weed odor issues from rooms into hallway. 2.5 stars for me. Quality Inns are my hotel of choice in any where. Generally a good choice.
Although the hotel is maybe a little smaller than what we normally stay in they made up for it with your customer service. The staff was very friendly, happy to point us in the direction where we could swim and workout. One of the members even found a great local pizza place we could order in. I had forgotten something after checkout and the cleaning staff was happy to help me back in my room to grab the item I had left. Very friendly rooms were clean and the ac worked great.
When I see a 4 star review I expect a very nice hotel, not a hotel that is dated with a shower with no water pressure. The room was very dated and the cost was good, but what you are paying for is very basic accommodations. Room was sort of clean but there were rips in the box spring. Quiet hotel, but the rest of the family was not impressed with the overall stay at all. For only a little more we could have stayed at a brand new hotel but we were stuck because of a non-refundable online price that we paid.
Clean. Never could get the internet to work though. My ad blocker probably was keeping their connect page from working properly. Im not turning it off, so I had to use my phones hotspot. I wont allow a hotel to run ads or trackers on my internet connection when Im paying them for the night.
It was nice to be able to find a reliable, reasonably priced, and nice place to stay in such short notice. I brought my brother and cousin there as well. We came to Brunswick due to a funeral, and it was in our favor to find such a place to stay. So, we rented 4 rooms that night between us, and all went well. It was nice to have one of the rooms for handicap because of my uncles health conditions. They were even able to park close to the room where they stayed. I loved the walk in shower for him and his wife, and the bar to hold onto in the back as well as the shower chair for them. Things went well considering the event we were there for. I have been to some of your hotels before and have always had a good experience. Thank you! :)
The rooms are well equipped with appliances. The pillows and sheets are extremely nice. They have an excellent breakfast. The entire place is very clean and well maintained. Really just a great experience, will definitely be staying again. Only 30 min from Cleveland clinic. Excellent accommodations for a reasonable price.
Rooms are small but this didnt bother me even with 3 people staying in the room. There is no bathtub which may disappoint mothers who like giving their young children a bath after swimming. The rooms were very nice and clean, had high speed internet free , a nice pool, a free breakfast although coffee was VERY weak, all 3 thermoss! It employed Very nice staff and was near many eating establishments and malls. A very nice place to stay and I would recommend it.
The rooms were typical and clean. Air conditioning in the room worked great, however the rest of the hotel was not air conditioned or broken? Was also disappointed that in order to use a pool, you had to drive down the road to the community center? Convenient location. My suggestion though would be to add at least a bench outside. We were visiting friends in town but had to stand or sit on the curb every time we were waiting for them to pick us up. That was disappointing. Breakfast was good. Staff were average. Nothing to write home about. Beds were great.
We were greeted pleasantly by the front desk and every thing went very quickly. The room was clean but had a very heavy smell of smoke which made it feel dirty. The breakfast was ok but have been offered yogurt, eggs and sausage you could eat. The check out was also very pleasant and quick.
Our evening at the hotel was fine. The room, while small with a small bathroom, was just fine for the overnight stay. While the bed was certainly smaller than the advertised queen, the mattress was firm and comfortable. The room was clean with a new television, microwave and refrigerator. Overall we were happy with our experience.
The rooms could use updating with clean bed spreads and newer matresses. Repair the pool or remove from website. Otherwise grounds and lobby were in good shape. We appreciated being able to bring our dog. Service was acceptable. Breakfast quality was poor with fake eggs and instant coffee really?
Easy access to highways , attractions and stores. No elevator though , but its only 2 floors. Pool was not open due to problems. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. The breakfast could be watched a little closer for freshness. Would definately recommend. And is a good location to see attractions like the football and rock and roll hall of fames. It was a great trip.
This is an older facility but pretty well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. There isnt a lot of competition in Brunswick so this is a good choice if you dont want to travel to other hotels. This is not a high end hotel but the rooms were adequate and I think the price reasonable for what you get. WiFi is free but they have partnered with Amazon and the sign on tries to get you to sign up for a service of theirs.
The hotel was easy to find, though parking to be close to your room is kind of a mess. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room (one with two double beds) was large and comfortable, and had a refrigerator (which I didnt realize when I made the reservation). The breakfast area is a bit small, but they had a good selection of stuff (as most Choice hotels do).
We were very happy with our room. Hotel appears to have had a recent facelift, the carpet is like brand new and paint looked to be as well. When we stayed there near the end of June, the pool was not open as it appears it is under going renovations too, so if this is important to you I would call and check first. Overall a great value room for the price, and excellent and friendly staff, we will stay there again next time we go to Rochester.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. The cleanliness and comfort were perfect for my week that I stayed here. The accommodations were very nice and it had every amenity that I wanted and needed. The staff was very nice and helpful and attended to my every need. Breakfast could use some work but it was ok. I would very much stay at this hotel and recommend it to any business or leisure traveler.
Arrived in town drove right to the hotel and check in was a breeze, the young lady at the desk was friendly and nice and gave us directions to the near by Steak and Shake Restaurant. got our Luggage unloaded and in room. Room was very nice and a clean smell also. Breakfast was great also, ate a good breakfast and headed back on the road to New York. Recommend to anyone.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel while on business. Thought the value for the money was good... Room was clean, with a mini-fridge and microwave, as well as an adequate continental breakfast and nice staff. Only complaint was the comfort of the bed and pillows. We never got a real good nights rest. But other than that it was fine.
It was a very, very satisfactory experience staying at the hotel. It was clean, quiet, served a good breakfast and had almost anything in the room that one could want. My only little concern was that I didnt think the water was quite as hot in the shower as I might have liked, but it wasnt really bad. The price was very good.
Amazing stay! We were here for a quick rest stop as we were driving though and loved everything. The staff was just perfect. The young man at the front desk was very polite and the rooms were kept clean. We were surprised by the quaility of service. The housekeepers did amazing! Their breakfast was great, with fresh fruit. Definitely surprised with satisfaction!
Got away from things by booking the jacuzzi room for our anniversary ahead on time. The front desk staff was helpful... They even left a towel sculpture with petals and a complimentary gift on the bed! Their pool was out of doors, but they do have an agreement with the citys rec center just down the street.
The Front Desk Clerk came out from behind the counter to help my wife get her walker through the doors and found us an exceptional room on the first floor (there being no elevator). The room was exceptionally clean and the water pressure was great. The breakfast area and seating where cramped and some of the appliances where beginning to show their age. All things considered, this was one of the best experiences we have had with choice hotels.
The facility is a challenge with no elevator, pool eliminated and while great highway sign exposure , a bit tricky to find it from the main street. The room was well used but clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We got the feeling this was one that had just reopened - and I look forward to seeing the improvements in the coming months. It definitely has potential. Breakfast service was right on, no issues.
Pretty solid hotel for a road trip stop. The first room we were in smelled strongly of smoke, although they moved us to a new room without problem. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty standard, waffle cereal and juice.Check out Historic Medina if you have time, it is very with it.
Front desk person was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Lighting was poor. Had to use the light on my phone to figure out where to turn a light on (the switch by the door did not turn anything on when we entered the room). Shower was awkward and had no water pressure. It took forever to rinse off.
The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I only booked this hotel because of its close proximity to a meeting I was attending, but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this property. The property is older and the rooms are smaller, but the rooms are clean and are very adequate with a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a desk. I was near the office and my internet connection was very good. The price was very reasonable and the room was exactly what I needed.
Overall I enjoyed staying at the hotel and I definitely will come back an would recommend it. There was a problem with the chair in my room and it was replaced. The shower water flow are not strong enough, and there was a smell of cigarettes smoke at the corridor of my room, which I couldnt figure out where it comes from.
The hotel employee checked us into four different rooms that night because the first three hadnt been cleaned. We actually ended up leaving to run some errands because the whole process of finding a clean room was taking so long. When we came back and we were finally assured our (fourth) room was actually clean, when we got down there we had to go all the way back to the check out desk for the fourth time that night because he gave us the wrong room key. I was incredibly dissatisfied with the service I received and the quality of the rooms.
Owner/ Manager had a do not care attitude when I tried to check out a day early, was charged anyway even though he said there was no problem when went to check out. Bathroom smelled musty, when I told him he just said, we will run the fan! Also they had a limited breakfast menu and served exactly the same rubber egg discs and sausages every day for the three days I was there! Variety would have been nice, and considering the attitude, how can I know if they had fresh food each day or just served the prior days leftovers?
The room was quite dirty upon arrival. The lavatory and shower had mold and mildew, the HVAC was in dire need of cleaning (the owner said it was only a week since it was last cleaned - check the pic for yourself), and I had to defrost the months of ice from the freezer. The lavatory and shower issues were somewhat corrected a couple of days after asking the owner if the room I had was indicative of all the rooms. The 1st floor had a persistent musty odor for the 3 weeks I stayed here.
We had a wonderful stay despite a few obstacles along the way. The hotel is clean & conveniently located many restaurants, & stores The housekeeping staff was wonderful especially Nita & Josefina who were both thoughtful, kind, & very helpful when our room key would not work and we were locked out of our room. We met a lot of wonderful people during our 4 day stay and would most definitely stay there again if in the area.
Check-in was problematic and hotel staff could have been more knowledgeable about the area. The room was nice and the room amenities were good. However, the hotel amenities were minimal. The pool was outdoors and closed even though it was July. The hotel does not have a restaurant, bar, or exercise facilities. Hotel is close to the highway and there is a Bob Evans next door if you do not want to take advantage of the free breakfast bar. The hotel breakfast bar was mediocre. They were out of eggs, so I never got any. If I had asked, they may have brought more out. I dont know because I never asked. I had a very light breakfast of a small Danish, an apple, and cup of coffee. The apple was surprisingly excellent, and the coffee was good. I also enjoyed reading the USA Today that was provided free of charge.
Great hotel but slow Wi Fi, no problem with dog in room. There was a $10 charge. This is my first time traveling with a dog so I dont know if that is a fair price or not. What I didnt like was when I told the man at the reception desk that I had a dog. He told me to keep the dog quiet while I was out at a wedding/wedding reception. That doesnt seem very pet-friendly to me.
This hotel is usually a wonderful place to stay. I come here to rest after a hard week with my business. I enjoy the quite time and the movies. I do like taking a long HOT shower while here to relax. Just wish the showers were more aggressive, I know your trying to conserve on water but theres nothing like a HOT hard spray from the shower in the massage mode. All in All a wonderful time is spent here.
First the pros: the staff tried very hard to make our stay pleasant. The room was clean and well maintained. That said, the room walls had little, to no insulation, and inside and outside noises were only minimally reduced. The free breakfast was minimal, but edible. What stood out was the incredibly flimsy eating utensils. The styrofoam coffee cups were so thin that it was nearly impossible to put on a lid without crushing the cup. What struck us most was that the concept of quality seemed to be wholly absent. Will not likely stay at another Quality Inn.
Very welcoming and attentive staff! However, our room smelled like wet feet and the smell didn’t go away for hours while we blasted the A/C. We had rented two rooms and the other’s A/C went out so they had to move us. Definitely a convenient location but very outdated hotel.
Decor and beds were good to great. However, issues with shower for someone who has back problems along with CRPS in leg. Breakfast should have been better, especially from pics on website, also even at the last hour before end. An hour before breakfast was ending found only 4 little egg-like patties (not real eggs) and only 4 sausage links that were luke warm. This was at about 9-9:15am. Staff was fairly friendly, communication between shifts/days should be better, i.e. had arranged for later checkout time.
Everything about the hotel was great. The staff is outstanding and very accommodating. I didnt eat there, but the room was very comfortable, and clean. The only thing that was a little disturbing was the fitted sheet on the bed didnt seem like it was the newest, however, I was too tired to complain, and I slept really well that night. I would recommend it highly for a budget hotel, and I intend to stay there again.
Well I usually give pretty good reviews but this one I have to be honest and say... first impression is everything. When we arrived for a reserved checkin our room was available and they let us check in early. Well as soon as you walk in the room you can smell the smoke... we were given a smoking room and neither of us smoke. They switched out room and someone was still cleaning the room when we went to the new room. (No biggie, atleast we know they cleaned it) when we go to check out, theres a pet fee x2 charge on the receipt. We dont own pets. The attendant at front desk was so new she couldnt do a credit and we had to call back to speak with manager later in the day.
This motel is reasonably priced for my three nights stay. Basically clean, adiquate breakfast and quiet. I was let down not to get my senior discount or Triple A discount. I was told the reason being the reservation was booked on line. So I suppose if you book on line you should ask for a discount at that time. Sounds like a bait and switch situation to me. Remember Seniors if you dont ask they are not going to tell you.
Stayed in this motel 10 months earlier costing me 12000 rewards point but cost me 20000 point this time with no visible improvements. Room was very small for the price. Had no sink stopper. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. ChoiceHotels are not living up to their reputation based on this motel and the last few Ive stayed at. Is time for me to search out another hotel chain that will give me the value that I expect.
Stayed for 1 night. Room was very small and the air conditioning barely cooled the room at all. The website states that the hotel has a pool but when I called to ask where in the building it was located, the front desk attendant responded by telling me it was 1.5 miles down the road at the Brunswick Recenter. I located the building map which did indicate there was a pool on the premises so we did some investigating and found a large empty pit in the middle of the Pool Area with no signs of renovations or construction. Very disappointed. Could have had better quality at another hotel for the same price.
From the knowledgeable and kind associates, to the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds, this is definitely the hotel you want to stay at while in the area. As someone who travels often and stays in various hotels throughout the year, I can say without question this hotel set the bar high on service. Will never sleep in another hotel while I am in this area.
Our stay at Quality Inn was a very good one. The room was clean and the service excellent. Our check in person was very pleasant and helpful. There was no loud noises to keep us awake at night and we appreciated all the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. We give this hotel an excellent rating.
Wow the price of this was very reasonable the room that we had was very dirty and almost seemed like it had been cleaned. The room itself was very dated and some of my family members wanted to leave the first night. We actually left after the first night even though we pay for two and could not get a refund and went to another hotel down the street that was much better. The breakfast was okay and it was basic but it gave us what we needed.
We enjoyed our stay at this motel. The rooms were clean and well-equipped. The staff went out of their way to help out. The motel is at the edge of a quiet suburban neighborhood perfect for taking a walk or running. There is also a nearby scenic exercise trail that we didnt get a chance to try out.
We are always welcomed and prefer this hotel due to family being in the area. We have never had a bad stay and stay at this location several times during the year. They all do a great job and appreciate all of the customer assistance when we need it! Keep up the good work.
The staff and management here never cease to be some of the most helpful and professional people I deal with. Other Choice Hotels and hotels in general could learn from Jennifer and her peeps. The location is ideal, and the walking path next door is ideal for winding down.
Its always a pleasure staying at this hotel when working just south of Cleveland. The staff is always very friendly, the parking lot is lighted and safe and the hotel is walking distance to stores, a gas stations, plenty of restaurants. Easy access on and off the highway.
I had business in Brunswick and needed a hotel that can have dogs. The hotel staff was Excellent and they made sure were notified if our dog was unruly. She is a quiet dog and didnt disturb, but the staff always wanted to pet her and made sure we had everything. We opted not to have room service but when we needed to exchange towels they did so without an issue, always smiling and treating us like family. If I come to Brunswick again I will stay at this hotel. I travel all over the country and the staff has made me a Quality Inn Brunswick customer. Thank you.
Reserved a King and was given a Super single, shower sprayed out from the control lever and was missing towel holder on the door. The wash mirror had prior toothpaste splatter and was dirty around the sink. The breakfast was lacking and the waffle batter must have been sour as the waffle cooked tasted like spoiled milk. We had a prior stay 2 years ago for same Christmas overnight and had better experience and felt it was great for the value. This past stay has swayed me to look for other accommodations in the future.
Staff is awful. did not make up room or give towels, at 5 Pm when returning asked to make up or at least new towels. When returned at 11 pm no towels room not made up. Same staff manager then gave us towels. Never said anything except we were in room 115. Next morning never asked how room was at check out. Also this hotel smells of cigarette smoke in hallway, real bad at back door and near storage room.
Several times every year I stay at Quality Inn Brunswick while on business in the area. The location is close I-71 and there are many restaurants near by. The staff has always been helpful and check in/out is usually quick. The rooms are clean an accommodations are reasonably good, especially for the price. Breakfast is normal (instant oats, cereal, bagels, etc.) but the coffee is a little rough (try McDonalds across the street).
We stayed at this hotel all of 23 hour. It was a business trip for my fiancee who works for the government. When we first entered the second floor, it permeated of marijuana, as well as our room. We forgot to pack toothpaste, so we went down to the front desk an asked if they carried toothpaste that night. The front desk hospitality was a very rude middle aged cacasion man who threw the toothpaste packets at us on the counter. The trip was suppose to last until Wednesday, but due to my fiancees business wrapping up earlier than expected, we decided to check out. They refused to refund us for the day we didnt use. The excuse the middle age cacasion woman at the desk gave for not even charging us for a half day or even pro-rating the room was that housekeeping was gone and they could not sell the room. As if our ONE room would matter when 75% of the hotel was UNOCCUPIED. As if the hotels inability to provide housekeeping until 5pm was our fault. We checked out at 2:15 pm, which in a more capable hotel, housekeeping would have still been on premises. Due to my fiancee going on business trips throughout Ohio multiple times a week, we have decided to not use Choice Hotels any longer. They have lost two customers. This hotel was very basic and more of a motel than anything. It has no fitness center, pool, or elevator. I would hate to see what would happen if the special Olympics or another organization of people who may use wheel chairs decided to stay here. It is more of an enclosed, two level Redroof Inn than anything else. I would suggest to go to a chain hotel because this one is privately owed, and lack quality customer service. The best amenities was the polite Eastern gentleman who was at the front desk in the mornings, the pillows, and the complementary breakfast.****Update*****Three hours after leaving this place charged his card for an extra day. Saying its procedure in case. I worked front desk and night audit for Hampton Inn and suites by Hilton and Ive never heard of any such thing. I guess they didnt like my review, and the fact that I called corporate to make a formal complaint. This place is GARBAGE!
I move around in my sleep, and those little couch-sized pillows just do not cut it...what happened to regular-sized pillows? Finally, I just did not appreciate paying an additional $25 just because it was the day after Thanksgiving. I was hoping to visit some friends while taking leave from the military, and experienced sticker shock. I am not so sure that I will be returning. The service was excellent, as always however, and they are great and friendly.
Overall, the hotel served its purpose. I was in town for a wedding and a friend and I needed to stay in a hotel room for the night. The fact that we were able to get a smoke room was an absolute plus since we dont come by those often anymore. The only thing that threw me off was the initial experience of the check in. The guy at the counter was on his personal phone and it seemed as if I was bothering him. He rushed, which made it hard to understand. But you will have that, that didnt ruin the night or the stay. Like I said, overall, the hotel was clean, the beds were nice, and the AC worked nicely.
This was hotel #2 of three on our family vacation. Upon check in, the front desk failed to tell us that the pool (one of the only reasons we chose this location over others) was broken. Nope, she waited until we were walking in our suits to the pool to inform us that wed have to go to the local athletic center. Huge hassle redressing our two young children and loading them into the truck to drive to this place that was set to close 30 minutes later. The next night we needed to do laundry (another reason we chose this hotel as we were on a 10 day trip and needed to lighten the dirty laundry load. We asked the gentleman working the desk if the hotel supplied or had detergent for purchase. He said no, they dont keep things like that. So my husband drove to the store to buy some. Next I ask the man if I can get change for the machines. He told me he couldnt do that either and had no idea how much the machines even cost. Eventually he exchanged $3 worth of quarters which was not enough because it was TWO DOLLARS per wash and per dry! I get upstairs to start my laundry and discover a sign detergent available for purchase at the front desk for $1. I was very angry at this point and threw the sign at the front desk worker as I stormed by. How are tbe workers so un knowledgeable about the hotel they are running?!?! To top it off, our clothes were still soaked after the run through the dryer.
When we went down to grab breakfast at approx 9:30 (was told its available 6-10 am), it was already being taken down. We were allowed to have something, but felt uncomfortable about it. Then, check out for this hotel is 11. Then why is housekeeping knocking at our door at 10? then again at 10:15, then calling us at 10:30 asking if were leaving yet? I understand the need to get things done, but check out is at 11! It wasnt like the hotel was booked. When booking the stay, I had asked Jack why the rates at this location were higher (by approx $20) than the ones in surrounding areas (as I was looking at your website) ? He said it was because they have a higher rating and this one was better (not kindly either). I will say, the hotel is clean and maintained well...but overall was made to feel like its morning, now get out.
My husband and I stay here about one night a month. We are completely satisfied and have no complaints. Other reviewers mention the pool being closed - and it is. So, if you are looking for a pool dont stay here at this time. Since we are too busy when we are here to swim, it isnt a problem for us. The breakfast is standard fare for this type of hotel - nothing fancy, but it does the trick. Thanks for being our Cleveland go-to hotel!!
I stayed overnight at Brunswick with 5 friends. We were all satisfied with the rooms, they were clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms show a good deal of wear, the heater is noisy and the air was very dry (it was below 10 degrees f outside) and the breakfast didnt look very appetizing. There was an extra chair in the room, but it wasnt very comfortable. We all chose to go to Bob Evans for breakfast. I noticed they had arrangements at a local fitness club for Quality Inn guests, we didnt use it but that is more than I expected for a budget hotel. These are all little nitpicky things; but they explain falling short of a 5 rating. For the hotel cost I think we got a bargain, We will all stay there again enroute to the Cleveland International motorcycle show.
I booked a room in back in July for my Wifes best friends wedding. Upon checking in the manager told me I booked the room for a previous day even though I confirmed the date and time with him and even told him I was with the wedding party. When I asked the manager if there was anything he could do he stated No,the no show fee of 101.00$ went through and there is nothing he could do . I called the corporate office and they stated unless i made the reservations through them there is nothing they could do either. So I was stuck paying 101.00 for a room I never reserved. I have never experienced such a lack of customer service from a hotel. Avoid at all costs.
Expecting a lot more for what I spent. The bed was covered in God knows what as well as the curtains! The shower floor was gross and when the jets were turned on in jacuzzi, a bunch of hair shot out of the jets. Very disappointed that the room was in that condition and also that the gentleman at front desk couldnt do anything more than a 15% discount that they didnt even take off! Even after we only stayed 2 hrs. Definitely will not return and would not recommend.
I would only suggest staying here if you are a chain smoker. Entire hotel smelled horrible. The room actually was not to bad. One of the poorer Quality hotels I have stayed at.Breakfast was a joke I ended up going down pumped for breakfast and found it worth spending 10 bucks for fast food across the street. And I dont eat fast food but maybe couple times a year. The staff was very courteous though.
We are using the conference room for a birthday party in a few weeks, and we stopped in to do some planning. We are very pleased with the location, space, and staff. They were helpful, courteous, and flexible as we prepare for our surprise party. We cannot wait, and will be utilizing them as a venue again in the future!
This was first stay at the Quality Inn Brunswick, from check-in to check-out it I was very happy. Very nice and helpful staff, room spotlessly clean and comfortable. Good breakfast , and its evident that staff take pride in entire hotel as its very well maintained and clean. I highly recommend this hotel.
Im not sure who is writing these reviews that give this place a 4 star rating but the Quality aspect needs some quotation marks.I booked this hotel as it was an Airline Partner. I thought I would be getting a deal and earning some bonus points at the same time. I was in for a nasty surprise. When I entered the hotel lobby on a particularly warm day, I found myself walking under a dripping condenser in front of the door. Once inside however, I noticed they either hadnt bothered to turn on the AC or it wasnt functional. There was a container of tepid cloudy water with no ice in it, on glorious display next to the unmanned desk.I waited a few minutes for someone to show up check me in. My instincts were telling me to leave but I recalled being roped into a non-cancellation policy. Not wanting to lose 100 dollars, I soldiered on.Finally checked in, I get my room keys and head upstairs to my room. Since there was no elevator, my dad and I lugged the luggage, up both flights of stairs. Once we got upstairs, i was greeted by the distinct odors of marijuana, curry, and cigarette smoke. I did not book a room in the smoking section. Fortunately, this pungent mixture of aromas did not follow me into my room. The room itself looked fine initially. The decor was a bit dated but it appeared to have all the amenities advertised. That was where the positives ended. Sleeping in the bed thought the night, I felt itchy. This made me paranoid about bed bugs. I couldnt see any with my naked eye but I didnt have the proper tools to search. When I went to take a much needed shower the next morning, I opened the shower door and was smacked in the face with the smell of urine. I turned the water on, which came out at a frustratingly low pressure, and turned it to the hottest setting to hopefully clear whatever was there. I donned a pair of my dads flipflops so my bare feet wouldnt have to touch the floor of the shower. I unraveled one of the washcloths and found small hairs entangled within it. I searched for a hair free wash cloth and was finally able to take something resembling a shower. Much to my dismay, as I was getting dressed, I noticed a stain on the curtains. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a blood stain!Fed up with my experience, I didnt care if I had to pay more. I refused to stay another night in this roach motel. I checked myself out and booked a night in the Holiday Inn down the street. I was pleasantly/unpleasantly surprised that the room there was only 6 dollars more per night and overall much nicer. I wont be making that mistake again.Quality Inn receives 2 stars for being a dismal and shameful hotel experience. The only thing pushing this to 2 instead of 1 star is the fact that the staff was relatively friendly. They got a lot of work to do.
The website listed the pool as an amenity, it was never mentioned that it would be closed for construction. The pool was the reason I selected this hotel. The rec center is not a good substitute since their pool closes shortly after the hotels check in time. It would have been nice if the site noted the construction. It also would have been nice if the front desk staff told me the rec center times and advised me to bring some towels with me.
We had a comfortable stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again. We reserved a block of rooms for our daughters wedding, as we had many out of town guests to accommodate. The hotel staff was wonderful and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was great. Thanks!!!!
Quality Inn Brunswick lived up to its name in the quality of our stay, and at a modest cost. All of the amenities we needed were included; refrigerator, microwave oven, iron and ironing board, and an excellent hot breakfast including healthy options. We took advantage of the on site guest laundry, and the guest computer and printer which we used to check in for our flight and print our boarding passes. Not to mention a comfortable bed! And after all, isnt a good nights sleep a high priority when traveling?
We couldnt ask for more helpful people at the hotel. Everything we asked for they took care of. If you are looking for a hotel over the top with new updated things then you picked the wrong hotel. This hotel has the perfect location, nice breakfast and what more could you want?
Put in a non smoking room right next door to heavy smokers. No ventilation. Made me nauseous. The room was very small. No elevator we had to haul up everything to 2nd floor. Comforter had yellow stains. Replacement blanket smelled like smoke and had burn holes in it.
Hot tub had hair all over and towell had black stains. Very disgusting. Called font desk and they didnt offer to do much about it. The next morning i complaint to a different lady at the front desk she offer to give a 20% refund which never happened. Am still waiting for that refund. Asked for the manager she gave me his phone number she said his name is Jack, Ive called at least 4 times left 2 voicemails and still have not heard back. Planning to contact corporate office by monday if dont hear from jack. Very dissapointed will never stay here again!!
Hotel was an older place. Our room was clean and updated .Microwave and refrigerater in room. We had to fix the toilet because it ran. Did not tell staff until we left. The security door at night did not lock. Had a small chime on inside. Isolated and not well lighted
Frightening, dirty and rundown.CONS:Perversely, if you enjoy the acrid stench of cigarettes mingled with the mellow under note of marijuana, then this is hotel for you.The decor is a drug-inspired Willy Wonka dream with striped wall paper and Mickey Mouse patterned carpet thats never been cleaned.Sadly, despite well-placed NO SMOKING signs plastered throughout the hotel, the stench of old cigarettes seems to be permabaked into the walls and carpet.PROS:Juxtaposed with this ramshackled facility is a very helpful and friendly staff. The front desk attendant warmly welcomed each time our team came back from work. The kind lady working the night shift offered to store my tools downstairs the night before I left so I wouldnt have to drag them both upstairs and then back downstairs when I checked out.She even went the extra mile Googling taxi companies when Uber failed to have anything available at 5 AM and said if my flight would have been earlier, she would have been happy to drive me to the airport so I wouldnt have to pay for a ride.
Location has good access to I-71, restaurants & shopping.Front female desk staff gets a 10.Hot breakfast not what we have experienced at other Quality Inns. I put this on the management not the staff.Insulation in walls & ceiling - minimal. Noise from room above and adjoining rooms was a real bother
My husband and I were extremely disappointed when we walked into our hotel room (its reallly a motel with the doors on the outside of the building). The room was at least 25 + years dated, stained furniture, a strong mildew smell throughout, our room had fleas jumping off the floor and a lovely blood splatter stain on the carpet in front of the bathroom sink. I highly suggest going anywhere else besides this Quality Inn. Check Facebook for the picture of the blood stained carpet under the reviews for this Quality Inn.
As I mentioned in prior page, this Hotel is around average. For the price paid I felt as if there could have been more. The breakfast was barely average with only a few items, small, bruised bananas, small apples, and pre-made eggs/sausage. Also, the coffee was the syrup type which I am not a big fan of.Overall, for the price this room was slightly around average.
Room was clean, but the hallways and lobby smelled like cigarettes/weed. Had no control when the A/C would come on in the room. Breakfast was par. Also, was woken up @7am by house keeping and when we didnt answer she proceeded to try to come in. The social norm is 10AM and later, not 7AM.
It was Ok, like I said it was a horrible reason to be in town,Comfort height toilets would be an awesome change, I didnt realize I was handicapped but the low riders I could not use so I had tom go down the hall to the public one. But thats not your fault I didnt think about it
The pool has not been operational for some time, it is not under construction, and there is no planned reopening date. The website must be updated! The option to use a community pool several minutes away with limited hours is not satisfactory, and in fact that was closed for a week during our stay so we had no pool option. The front desk doesnt inform people that the pool isnt open or the hours of the community pool at check in.Otherwise it was a fine hotel, but when you choose it and book it for the pool the disappointment colors the whole stay.
My first concern was at check in, when there were no there cars in the parking lot. Check in clerk was nice enough, went to room and was immediately not impressed. No door on bathroom, felt the place was not cleaned inspected for bed bugs, to there credit, didnt find any, which was a shock. Internet connection was terrible, it was hard to keep connection to even check email. Will never stay again.
We asked for a non-smoking room and was either near smoking rooms or was in a previous smoking room. The room itself was outdated, stained, needed repainted; you name it, it needed done. The breakfast food was a joke. The staff, however, was at least friendly and quick.

2022-04-26I picked this location because it had the most reasonable rates for staying with a dog. Other hotels in the Cleveland suburbs charge huge (and non-refundable) fees for bringing a dog with you, and this was by far the best deal we found. It turned out our dog stayed with a dog sitter and did not travel with us after all, but even still - this was a great nightly rate. This hotel is not a 5-star affair by any stretch, so lets be real - but I was actually very pleasantly surprised. Yes, the hallways still do have a lingering smell that you can tell people once smoked there a lot, but even with my super sensitivity to cigarette smoke, it wasnt bad enough that I reacted to it. Our room smelled completely fresh and the door shut out the cigarette smell completely. Our room was very clean, the linens were clean and fresh, and the bed was free of any little unwelcome guests (checking for them is the first thing we do in any hotel). The bathroom was a little tight (small shower plus a toilet, sliding door, nothing fancy) but perfectly doable. The sink was outside the toilet/shower area, which in reading reviews seems to bother some folks, but were perfectly fine with that. We had a mini fridge and microwave in our room, so that was great too. I wouldnt say the bed was the most comfortable bed Ive slept in at a hotel (kind of woke up stiff and sore) but it wasnt unbearable. We didnt wake up early enough to get down for breakfast, so I cant tell you what that was like, but I do like that check-out time was 11 so that gave us time to sleep in a bit and then get ready. Theres ample parking as well, and we were able to park right outside our room window.I would definitely stay there again the next time were in town.

2022-05-17From the very start the staff was friendly over the phone with scheduling our stay here for the night. I love that they are pet friendly too. To preface this review, I am a very fussy sleeper, but the beds here in my opinion are pleasantly comfortable (: I didnt have to roll around much at all! We appreciated the value here at this Quality Inn. With a little more curb appeal and some minor updates this place would be even more of a gem. Overall this location felt clean and pretty well managed.

2022-04-25Desk agent was welcoming and efficient. Room was small but clean. Shower was good. Big let down was breakfast, just hot/cold cereal, toast, fruits, yogurt and muffins. But for the price I would stay again.

2022-02-25Great place to stay for the price, staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, well equipped, and everything works. They have a guest laundry and plenty of parking. There is no elevator but one flight of stairs to the second floor wont kill us right?I was staying there on a business trip, the wifi worked well and was decently fast, there was a desk and office chair in the room, which worked out great for me.The location is good, a 5 minute walk from the hotel to a couple convenience stores and 3 restaurants. Lots of restaurants in the area and shopping centers.

2022-07-07It was surreal experience. I came to stay for a liver transplant. You should close that pool up or make it a really cool outdoor area. Its only been closed for 5 years now. We should do something about it. Everybody likes an outdoor area or even a little garden thing. I would recommend and everything was clean.

2022-02-21Excellent room and front desk service. Very quiet and comfortable. Right off 71, so that was a relief. Serves only cold breakfast with coffee. Highly recommend and will use again.

2022-06-29Positive: Location and price Negative: This hotel needs to be updated. Everything was very outdated from carpets, sheers in windows were ripped from outside I could see other rooms where it looked liked cats had gone up and down the curtains, others had the whole bottom cut off. Garbage around

2022-05-03Staff when checking out was rude and almost accusatory that we had stolen items. Only after counting towels and making sure sheets were still on bed we got our deposit. The continental breakfast was a joke. Nothing hot. Stale mini muffins and Stale cereal was it. Big black eye for the quality inn chain.

2022-04-13Positive: easy check-in, good location, nice staff, clean room Negative: They advertise hot breakfast included with room. There was no hot food. They had all the equipment out for hot food but no ingredients. Just some muffins and bread.
