The hotel is good and the staff is professional but their transportation of choice is the absolute WORST!!!!Before I even got to the island Coops Cabs were calling me harassing me for a ride to the hotel. After the third call I finally said yes and I told him when I was coming on the ferry. When I arrived, Coops Cabs were not even there to pick me up so I took another cab and called him to tell him I didnt need a ride. He called me back and left a voice mail being completely rude and nasty with very inappropriate language. It started my weekend off bad so that is why I rate this a 1 star....Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center recommend a different means of transportation! DO NOT USE COOPS CABS, they are RUDE and HORRIBLE!
The room was nice, thats the only nice thing i can say.But they screwed our party (and everyone else staying for the spring fling 2022) out of a refund for Friday May 6th. Basically, the weather was so bad that none of the ferrys were leaving to the island on Friday. We called Friday, and spoke to them when we arrived saturday and the only thing they would do is push out our reservation to Monday. Thats not only very inconvenient, but the jet express does not run on Monday, so we would essentially be stuck on the island.I dont understand why you cant just treat your guests fairly. They are going to respond to this comment saying Well, the ferry left at 8-10am on Friday so its no excuse. Except for the fact that we came from new york, and would have had no possible way of knowing that by the time we would have had to leave. How should I have known that id have to wake up at 2am to drive there and take the first ferry?Also, the spring fling was total cheeks, Fridays drink tickets were not extended into Sunday (and could only be redeemed for bud-light, and before 7pm). The food that was there was so stale and cold it was inedible. The ad clearly said Bands, solo acts, and entertainers, pizza buffet, smores bar, fire pits which none of these things existed. I understand the weather was bad Friday, but it was gorgeous the rest of the weekend.I was so excited for this weekend and this resort managed to deliver on almost nothing.
Stayed Weekend of 4/30-5/1 1 night.I had read the reviews posted about the potential Credit Card fraud. I went and booked under the assumption that this could possibly happen so I used a low limit card that required text messages to approve transactions. I booked online via their website and when I arrived at the front desk they requested my drivers license and the credit card for the second half of the payment. The hotel staff had possession of my card and license for about 2 mins. 24 hours after check out my phone was blowing up with charges from Walmart and Sams Club in Bentonville, AR. Fortunately I had planned for this and was able to deny the charges and cancel the card immediately no issue. Use caution, I will be filing a police report for whatever good it may do.As far as the stay itself I had no issues but I was only in the room to sleep for the one night. Was clean and had no issues otherwise.
This place is a scam, I would watch out. Ive seen a few different people fall for their elevator scam. They accuse you of breaking their elevator and make you pay money even if you havent done anything. They require cash on the spot, wont let you talk to a lawyer and they have police there to intimidate you. If you ask for a receipt, they will tell you no so that they have no proof that it even happened. .
Worst hotel management ever. They will not help you in arrangements, get really negative even for reasonable requests. Stay away.There’s a response below. To follow up on that, the request of cancellation was also independently generated by Expedia. They’ve not responded to Expedia either. Also, they were not flexible about moving the reservation to other dates/times.Lastly, when I asked for information over the phone, they say things like “maybe just one restaurant open in the island, maybe not.” Making the case that the island will be practically deserted and yet completely refuse to cancel or even move the reservation to a reasonable time.
DO NOT BOOK ONLINE!! My friend an I booked a room online and both our card information was stolen and multiple charges were placed totalling over $400 on each card! When we called to report it to the hotel, that did not care at all and basically said their is nothing they can do. The lady we spoke with was very rude and made it seem like they had nothing to do with this but that was the only connection we have and I did not use my credit card for anything else.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful! We appreciated our weekend getaway. Our room was very modern, spotless, and the bed was very comfy. Upon arrival, one of the employees was very nice; he even allows us to do an early check-in. The grounds are beautiful, very well maintained. The pool and swim-up bar area were also very nice, and the food at the food truck was pretty good. The bartenders are very friendly, and one of the girls at the front desk seems like she really loved her job! We had a great time.
I am not sure how all of the rooms are, but my boyfriends and my room had an unexpected jacuzzi! The shampoo/conditioner/lotion/hand soap are in dispensers, which is way more convenient than having single-serve bottles, in my opinion. The atmosphere is great, and within walking distance to downtown. The bed is immaculately clean, as are the restrooms. The pool outside is a little chilly at this season but the hot tub was very nice. If you are traveling to Put-in-Bay, I highly recommend!
My BF and I visited 8/1-8/4/2021 and had a perfect experience. I was nervous based on some horrible reviews, but hopeful based on the rest. Everything was excellent! I highly recommend this place. Check-in/out was a breeze, hotel was always well staffed and VERY friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfy (no mold smell!), wifi worked great, continental breakfast was served but we didnt use it. The pool and bar were so fun and had a really nice amount and mix of people of all ages (kids, families, singles, couples) with plenty of space and seats available. We met many fun locals and visitors and had a GREAT time, cant wait to go back. Walking distance to main street was great so no need for a cart unless we were exploring the island. As long as you follow the rules and dont worry about what others are doing you will have a great time!
I absolutely love this place! However, every single time we book our credit card is compromised. We booked 01/10/22 and on 01/12/2022 we were hacked AGAIN! Please listen to your customers, as I have seen several reviews where this is an ongoing problem. (This is the third and final time this will happen to us!!)
I loved this hotel so much! Great staff, relaxed atmosphere. The drinks and food were fantastic. The weekend pool party and fun should not be missed. Great for couples, families ( during the week), or a weekend girls trip. The hotel had a shuttle called Coops Cabs to take you everywhere throughout the day (and night). The hotel used wrist bands to determine who is a registered guest, GREAT IDEA! Cant wait to return here!
We enjoyed our stay here. Its a little ways from the craziness of downtown. The pool and bar are somewhat close to the road but very clean!. The pool and staff at Put-in-Bay Resort are great. It was a busy pool day on Sat. and they were all running around making sure people were taken care of. The room was clean and nice. Staff was great. The pool area food was great! The entertainment (a DJ) was great. The atmosphere was really good
Put-in-Bay Resort staff was so friendly and warm welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel reservation manager, Amber, was exceptionally excellent and showed genuine kindness. We asked for a room upgrade and our other questions. the hotel front desk associate was always outstanding in greeting us with a joyful smile and genuine patience with our questions. The suites with the living room area were amazingly comfortable, very spacious, and extremely clean. We thoroughly enjoyed a terrific stay at Put-in-Bay Resort Many thanks to all the excellent and dedicated, hard-working staff who truly shine all their goodness upon so many guests every day to make your stay a happy and relaxing experience.We are so grateful and thankful for all you did!
The room and facilities were fantastic. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and we slept very well. Everything was clean. The bit of the grounds that we saw were very well kept as well, and the landscaping was stunning. The location is one of the best points of the resort as it is right in town, just a block off the main strip: an easy walk but pretty quiet at night.
We rented a luxury villa that was absolutely not luxurious! The floors turned the bottom of our feet black. Broken furniture, no TVs in the bedrooms, horrible beds. Good thing we were there to drink so didnt care much about all that. The party scene was great if you like college parties or a spring break atmosphere. They charge extra money without telling you upfront so make sure you ask for a receipt and dispute anything before you leave cause if you call them, the manager, Amanda will just tell you you should have requested a receipt while there and its your fault for not doing so. Horrid customer service skills. I feel like this is how they extra money. Everything seems super shady! Our code for our villa wad 123456.....and couldnt be changed...not very secure.
The Put-in-Bay Resort Villas were great....everything was fresh and ready for us when we arrived. All that we needed was there...including lots of towels. The staff was accommodating and welcoming. The location is close to Jet Express ferry, which was a great thing Sunday morning as we got in line to get back to the mainland. With the golf cart, we rented from Put-in-Bay Golf Carts, and we were in the downtown area in no time at all. We will be back to enjoy Put-in-Bay!
We LOVE staying here every time we come to the bay. The rooms are great. The pool is always fun with a bar that serves up drinks and the music isnt just a bunch of bass blaring through the speakers! It was nice to be able to have a few drinks and relax by the pool. The staff was a little stressed due to the weather but they did a fantastic job keeping us informed and comfortable.
If I could give a ZERO I would. And after reading the reviews and responses from the owner, this place is a JOKE, and have no respect or common decency for others. I could not park my car in the parking lot, I also could not park my golf cart in the lot. When speaking on the phone about a golf cart, this information was not disclosed. You have to wear a bracelet around, even when not on premises, to confirm you are a guest there. The hotel pool is just a party spot, over crowded and loud. They claim that it is no smoking, but I witnessed multiple people smoking, and the employees just looked the other way. My party unfortunately had to end our stay one day early because of a death in the family. When attempting to speak to the manager about this the day I found out, the lobby was very busy, and I asked if we could step to the side to speak for a second. She refused with a snotty attitude and stated no because this is were our video and audio is. So I explained what was going on, and her response “not my problem, we can’t refund your money.” I don’t know where empathy, or basic customer service skills are, but these employees definitely lack these mandatory skills for the line of business that they are in. This nasty attitude that you have with people gets you no where in life. I feel sorry for you, and I truly hope you find peace and happiness soon. Maybe then your hotel could be more successful.I would NOT recommend this place ever, and I will never be back, and I’ve heard the same thing from multiple people on the island.
We have stayed here 3 times and have a blast ever time!! Red head at the front desk was on a power trip, didn’t seem like her coworkers were a fan of her either. She said if we didn’t have our wristbands on and they caught us in the hallway they wouldn’t let us into our rooms……….. went to the pool and seen maybe one other couple with wristbands on. Love this place and the convenience of the pool. Only thing I was unhappy about is how early everything shuts down on the island but don’t have their times updated on Google. Not the hotels fault, just a heads up for people coming during the week.
Very nice group of employees were just a part of what made our weather challenged vacation at this hotel great. We were a little worried about the party scene but everything was very quiet after about 10 PM. The resort had several nice sitting areas and they appear to go to great extremes with landscaping as the flowers all around the area were really neat. Our rental was a villa which was located across the street from the main resort building. 4 bedroom and 3 bathrooms were plenty of space for our family. On our day of departure, they stored our luggage while we made one last run at the stores for shirts and things which was nice. Coops Taxis picked up right in front of the hotel and it was $3.00 to get to the ferry boat.
Very rude people and poor breakfastPeople fighting in the streets at 3:30 in the morning asked the desk to call the police and was laughed at and after reading the other reviews its clear to me that staff and owners dont care about service people or anything but $ complete a$$ es they say they are in hotel business not transportation I dont see where they do anything for people will not deal with normal hotel business
We stayed over the Memorial weekend and were very impressed with the resort. Check in was a little detailed as they are strict about occupancy levels and it seems people were trying to sneak extra people in but we were not so no big deal. Getting there was a bit of a challenge as the ferry boats quit for a little while but we flew over using the locals island airlines. BRING A CAMERA IF YOU FLY!!!! simply stunning views!!! Rooms were pretty nice and had a mini fridge and a safe in them. Pool was AWESOME with a swim up bar. First day was pretty bad weather Second day there we had lunch at the restaurant at the pool and it was really good. Breakfast was a continental and free. The island itself had quite a bit of things to do. Overall a very nice 3 day holiday weekend getaway.
I do not recommend this hotel. At the time, my wife and I thought this place would be perfect for a one night stay while we check out the island. I made the mistake of booking on the wrong weekend and called to change it. After multiple attempts to try to get a hold of someone, I was answered by someone that did not sound like hotel staff and the answer “you have to send an email to change your reservation”. Huh…strange. Multiple email threads later, it’s changed to the correct weekend. We arrive and it’s about $30 more than we agreed on, and I asked for an itemization only to get a non-broken down receipt. The room? Smelled like a chainsmoker’s lived there so I’m glad we only stayed the night despite the hotel having a no smoking policy, which the staff strongly reminds you of when checking in. Opening a screen-less window invites whatever bugs into the room. We found out in the morning that the main door didn’t lock because the deadlock hits the doorframe. Also bring earplugs because you will hear your neighbors through the thin walls. And the breakfast? Despite the website saying that it’s not served on Saturday, it really means the entire weekend. We asked 2 different staff members and we got the same answer. Ultimately, staying here was a let down despite the positive reviews and promised accommodations online.
Had a great family vacation! Staff was attentive and there seemed to be plenty of them around. Some spoke not much English but we later learned many were part of an exchange program for the summer months. The resort had golf carts for rent right there and prices were better than what we remembered seeing at the docks upon previous arrivals. They had a pretty good size swimming pool that was very clean.
Stayed here during Memorial Day weekend 2021. Believe the reviews, my credit card info was stolen and I was charged $70 for Big Lots which I have never purchased from before! This was the one and only place I used my card on the entire island and the first time I used my card in days so it 100% was the hotel that caused this. The pool was absolutely packed with people that didn’t even stay at the hotel. Definitely would NOT recommend this place for families- definitely more of a young adult party scene. Other than these negatives, the hotel staff was nice and the rooms were okay, and they served breakfast which was a nice plus. Altogether wouldn’t go back again.
Nice hotel property, and the location was away from all the madness. The grand suite was a two-bedroom unit perfect for our family. The room was very spacious, but the hotel was understaffed. The people at the front desk were delightful, but you could tell they were working very hard to keep up!
Booked one of their 8 person 4 bedroom villas for a girls trip over the Memorial Holiday weekend. Enjoyed having the kitchen and the overall layout of the villa was perfect for us. Was a nice short walk downtown but we decided to get a cart from the front desk which was soooo worth it after dinner and drinks. The weather sucked the first day but the bars were fun and we made the best of it.
My wife booked our room with a credit card. It was used the next day for a fraudulent purchase. My mother in law also booked a room the same day and her card was used fraudulently. Now, a month after staying there we have a debit card charge from the Blue Marlin, their pool bar, as well as a charge on her fathers card. The rooms are decent and the hotel was fine otherwise.
Went on a family trip to cedar point then decided to head over to put in bay for a couple days over Memorial Weekend. Booked a room at the Put-in-Bay Resort. The Ferry Boats quit running and the hotel staff was very helpful referring us to the local air taxi for a quick ride over. A really cool 10 minute flight for just a few bucks more than the Jet Express.The rooms were nice and breakfast was good. It was only a few blocks around the corner from downtown. Close enough to the action but far away enough to still get a good nights sleep.
We had a good experience here renting one of the 8 person villas. There were no photos of the rooms we could view ahead of time, and it turns out 2 of the 4 are open concept rooms with no doors, so beware of that if your entire party expects privacy. Rooms were pretty clean with some dusty places. Plenty of space, and very convenient location to walk to the center of town. Nice outdoor space on the front porch and a shared patio with a grill in front. The front desk staff was friendly and they stored our luggage which was super helpful. Plenty of rules to sign off on but its to cut down on over the top partying, so you wont have an issue if you arent being crazy.I was going to rate this hotel 4 stars but I have to knock off a star for the terrible bartender at the pool bar. Not only was he not attentive...very hard to get a drink and spent time chatting with his buddies, but he was incredibly rude to us. He made comments about our party not buying rounds for each other (which is none of his business not knowing our financial situations) and said he wouldnt want friends like us. He also made a big deal that my brother and I have the same last name on the tabs. We were very careful to always specify which first name for the tabs, and he seemed to get it at the time. We tried to cash out from the pool area and he said he wouldnt walk the 4 steps to the other computer on the other side of the bar and we would have to get out and cash out over there. Ok, whatever. However when we finally were able to cash out, my tab had my brothers drinks and vice versa. Annoying since he made a big deal of us specifying. But we would make it right with each other after. However my brothers credit card got charged for both tabs even though the one receipt had my name, and mine had no charges. What a cluster. Really need to hire a better bartender. I have no issues with the hotel and liked the place but it makes me think twice about staying again. At a minimum, we will go to a different pool bar if that guy is working.
If it was possible to give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. DO NOT waste your time or money on this resort. When there is a mistake made by a staff member due to a reservation, you should FIX that mistake instead of blaming the customer. The reservation manager was absolutely not helpful and refused to issue a refund for a mistake that THEY made.I am not someone that ever writes reviews on hotels or resorts, but this is necessary. Do not give this place (or any other of their hotels they own) a dime of your money.Thanks Put in Bay Resort & Conference Center for ruining an entire trip for my group of friends and I!!!!!
Had a blast. I do recommend if you have kids to go during weekdays though if your staying here. Weekend dance parties with lots of drinking and loud explicit music & dancing. Cant really enjoy pool area with children. Staff all super pleasant & helpful. SPECIALLY girl named Kayla.Rooms were very clean.Lots of other places to hang out if you arent into that. Best times for pool area early morning and late evening its not as crowded with partying in the pool if ya do go on a weekend.
My sisters and I came to Put-in-Bay for just 2 nights. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable BUT like other reviews; my credit card was used by someone to make 3 small purchases without my consent. I would definitely stay here again but would use a prepaid Visa card so there isn’t any room for charges. We checked in on Monday and that was when the first 2 charges were made. That is very disappointing.
Initially reading the reviews of the hotel before staying I was a little skeptical: But after staying this past weekend and being able to soak up the experience I’ll just say that if you follow the rules you’ll be just fine! The hotel was very clean but the only complaint was that there wasn’t any breakfast served (Probably due to covid) Anyway they hands down have the best Pool bar, Hot tub, and DJ on the island & the hotel was very close to other bars & activities- The people were great, Made lot’s of friends and the girls and I will most definitely be returning for our 3rd annual Put-N-Bay trip next year‼️
We had a great and enjoyable stay. The outside pool was nice and clean as well was the room. We enjoyed the free golf cart rental promotion with our stay which I believe may have been on a weekday. The employees were very kind and accommodating and told us about other savings.We hope to return soon.Michael
Overall wonderful experience. Was pretty disappointed the jacuzzi tub in my room didn’t work though since it was the whole reason we picked that room. Other than that, the room was nice and clean, staff members were very nice and helpful and it’s location is nice and convenient to get food 😋
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and we had no problems. Despite the craziness that went on outside we didnt hear any of it. You can hear people come in and out of the elevator and some where loud and crazy, but its Put-in-Bay. Overall a good experience and would choose this hotel again
Unfortunately our memorial weekend at put in bay took a major set back this weekend and I wanted to share my story with this rental group. I rented one luxury villas 6 months ago and had no issue with giving them a 1400.00 deposit...assuming that there would not be a complete disaster so I had no issue! However, it happened and this rental group provided no options (rain check, later date other than “come tomorrow “)...actually said you can get here if you fly ?? Really??? Port Clinton is making national news...I will be back to put-in-bay but I will ensure that no reservation I make in the future has anything to do with this group...complete joke...stay clear!
We paid a lot of money to stay here and was treated very poorly by the manager and staff. Due to 14ft waves and over 40 mph wind gusts all day Friday, we were not able to make it over despite calling every airplane and boat company. When we finally made it Saturday, the manager did not refund or allow us to have credit for a later date (which would of been very good thing to do considering how much money I spend there). Either way, we went to every other hotel on the island and the managers said they were not charging anyone for Friday, due to extreme weather conditions. They all mentioned that management at this place is pretty unfair, which was surprising to here from other management. It’s unfortunate we stayed at the only one on the island that was like this. Won’t be doing that again, lucky for them there is only so much competition on the island, so I think they feel they can do whatever they want, which is probably true.
Booked 2- 8 person Villa for a family gathering. I used a credit card that had a zero balance for the trip and was not used in over a year. We found charges on it from Big Lots in OH and smaller charges from various site. I called the resort to inform them and I was told it was their 3rd party provider not them. Later I was contacted again by the Resort and was informed that they did not charge me correctly and I needed to provide my card # again. I provided my new card #and again my card was compromised. The week leading up to the trip we had a family emergency and I was not able to come and asked if my husband could just check in and pay the balance due. I was told no I had to be there or I could cancel the reservation and place it under my husbands name with his credit card! Be very aware you are not permitted to have out side guests but they can pack the pool .with them. I was accused of stealing their HDMI cable and was charged for it. The TV never worked and we were not there to watch t.v! There is never a Manager on duty to speak too. The hotel staff was extremely rude no customer service skills at all except for one very polite morning staffer.I will NEVER book there again. Thank you for making our family gathering so terrible with the consent harassment and never ending headaches your staff provided. The villa smelled moldy, the kitchen was barely stocked the stove top only had one burner that worked NO BLINDS on the front door or window. Over sold and under delivered.
Absolutely terrible customer service. My boyfriend booked us a room for our anniversary. All of the ferries to the island ended up getting canceled due to weather. We tried to get a refund but instead of helping us out they laughed at us and treated us very poorly. I understand they have a policy they must follow but it could have been done in a much more professional way. I’ve seen many other reviews with a similar experience. Very sad that this is how they treat their customers.
Hotel was fine- but on our last day of our stay our bank account was drained with charges on Walmart.com, which seems to be trend with other reviews! Coincidence? I don’t think so. So of course we had to leave immediately as our bank account was immediately shut down for fraud. This resort is the only place we used our bank card- to reserve room and book our golf cart while we stayed- didn’t think of it in the moment but did notice the employee made a copy of my license and bank card when reserving golf cart, which we assumed was just for insurance purposes or something- but I do believe that’s where our information was compromised. The rooms smell musty, you can hear EVERYTHING going on in rooms above you, and next to you. Just all around an experience we won’t be duplicating. If you choose to stay, I definitely suggest using a different form of payment than a bank card.
We had 4 couples who all booked separately from different ways and different days. We all got our credit cards hacked. Did not use my credit card for anything else. When calling the hotel, manager tried to tell me there was no way it could have been them. Also stating at no time do they ever see anything other than the last 4 numbers of our card, which is a LIE, because we hand it to them when we check in. Instead of saying they would look into it they just rudely denied it.
Everyone including the manager them self has a horrible attitude. When you check in yourself and your guest you need everything except for their social. They have no regards to Covid and will not at any reason refund or even reschedule your booking. My group and myself all tested negative while we had to leave one positive person behind, but that’s not to say that every other family that runs into the situation will be as responsible as we were. Needless to say the management would rather welcome Covid than to reschedule you at any other convenience but there own and to keep your money and resell your room. I hope the Health department has something to say about that. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND A STAY HERE AT THIS RESORT, you would be much better off staying at another hotel near by and stopping by for there outdoor bar/pool.
I wouldn’t go here they fire there best employees the ones that make the place feel like family the management is very prideful and unappreciative !! I’m very positive your stay would be better if they had common sense..I would even join there team if I felt they cared about people but they don’t !
The hotel itself was good, the issue comes from us booking our reservations by calling in and getting hit with fraud. 4 couples went with us 3 of the 4 were hit with fraud. We only used our cc to book, nowhere else. When calling the hotel to speak with a manager, we were told there was no possible way it could have been from there and we were left with no help. We were not asking for money back, our cc company takes care of that, we were just letting them know they clearly have an issue, however she stuck with there is no way. How can there be no way if a card was used only at that one place. And regardless, wouldnt you have a concern and want to check into it regardless. 3 of 4 people ALL hit!!!
Perfect in every regard for our mid-Aug not-too-crowded stay. Pool and hot tub were great with Sirius XM Alt-Nation playing. Could kind of hear neighbors when the came in but couldn’t put fan on coming stand-mode - this would be nice but all in all I’d stay here again.
This hotel is not what it is advertised as a family getaway. When we arrived, there was music blasting profanity. The website also said that we could pick up golf carts from put in bay golf carts at the hotel, which is not the case. The staff seemed overwhelmed and were very rude when we asked for towels for the hot tub. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are looking for wild parties. Walking through the hallways felt like a college dorm with music blasting and drunk people staggering down the hall. The rooms were decent, but the shower never got hot and the curtain was too short to contain water. I couldve sworn I saw Commodore Perry sailing across our bathroom floor. Overall, this was not a family friendly experience and much of what is posted on the website does not match what it is like when you arrive.
This is one of the worst places I’ve stayed. We were excited about our first visit to Put-in-Bay and were disappointed almost immediately by this hotel. The girl that checked us in was incredibly grumpy, they make you wear a plastic bracelet 24/7 for your entire stay - incredibly uncomfortable, the room had wet carpet and smelled, the towels were awful, water all over the bathroom floor, vending machine didn’t work, microwave in lobby was broken, the “continental breakfast” is a joke and they go on and on about it being non-smoking but every time we left the room we were hit with either smoke smell or pot. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else!! We plan to come back to the island but will NOT return to this place.
Ive stayed on the island several times and have always enjoyed my stay. The kids have a great time on the Ferry and love all the entertainment options. I love fishing around the islands and have always enjoyed staying there, whether Im in one of the hotel/condos or even camping. It is a unique and special place.
Price is great for proximity to the strip, clean nice rooms, and the pool bar is very nice. On the down side we were in the newer building and to get to the elevator at night you had to walk through a pitch black garage like area at night.... no lights... it was a little scary..... otherwise nice and would recommend but try to get into the main building for safety...
The good: The location to everything was great. Walking distance to downtown. The young lady who checked us in Kaylah(?) Was super nice. The bad: The rooms smelled like mold, and was incredibly humid. The towels were rough and some were thin. We were told not to being our car because the parking was full, we did anyway and found a spot right away. The pool was a joke, FULL to the max of people partying, frat house style. I have a picture of the blow up doll proudly displayed on the balcony all weekend. Yes people from outside the hotel were coming to the pool. While out our room was sparcly serviced, we came back to the horror of our room door not shut all the way! The night before checking out we stopped in to ask a couple questions and the staff had a rude tone and was texting as she was answering our questions. Definitely would avoid this place if you are not wanting a spring break vibe. And, we were told no breakfast on the weekend.
The stay was fine until we got home. Be careful of this owner as they are scamming good tenants when they leave. The front door was broken upon our arrival, the cleaning staff pointed out the issue to us upon check in and said they would notify the owner. We took pictures of everything upon arrival as well and the owner has the never to charge my credit card $500 blaming us for breaking the door when the door was previously broken before we arrived. Take pictures for proof if you stay here before entering and be prepared for the owner to try and keep your security deposit for previous damages to this home. I can only imagine the amount of people he has done this to in the past. I sadly have to get a lawyer involved because what he is doing is not right.
Been going to Put-in-Bay for years! Since I was a little girl, now I take my family! So many awesome things to do on the island. The hotel staff here is great, awesome view, good food. If youre wondering if you should check out Put-in-bay, dont think anymore!! JUST DO IT!! Youll love it! We cant wait to go back!
Had an amazing weekend and having a golf cart to drive around the island was a blast. Can’t wait for our next trip. If you get the chance it’s worth the trip. Like going to the keys only closer. Staff were extremely niceRooms were clean. I was concerned with the website photos but the rooms were nicer in person. We stayed in a one bedroom. The cleaning sweet friendly and accommodating. The only downside is a good bit of the restaurants were closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I read reviews about people saying they had their card compromised after booking here and prayed it wouldnt happen to me. I booked online paying the first half that was required. I paid the rest using the same card at the hotel. A few days later my card was used at BigLots.com for almost $90. Another reviewer also said their card was used at Big Lots. This is not a coincidence. Other reviewers also had their card compromised with unauthorized charges. I dont care if the room was nice or not, if you steal from me, I will never stay there again.
Nice room, clean facility. Check cancelation policy before booking!!! No refunds once booked and no credit for leaving early. Definitely not a family friendly facility- pool was freezing, illegal substances smelled throughout. Issue with the golf cart we were booked and 1 they wanted to give us on Check in.
My bridal party booked a bachelorette trip to put in bay from Friday to Sunday- we booked the rooms 9 months in advance and made a change to the rooms 6 months out. The reservation manager Amber was rude, unprofessional, and to say the least ignorant. 2 days before we were due to arrive we found they only moved one of the rooms!! Didnt offer to change back to the original date (which 1 room was still held under) and absolutely no money back!! A weekend to remember ruined by horrible management. Theres a reason this hotel has 2 stars on Yelp, just sucks its so close to the boardwalk. Horrible job, Amber!Every review on Yelp talks about this woman- sad this is the only person they found to run the establishment
In response to the owners last review:1. The service animal with official ADA paperwork was not 100 pounds, nor near 100 pounds.2. Your resort was called to verify beforehand as we always do to inform others of our service animal. Not our fault your staff according to you “gave false information”3. Our service animal again is not a pet. He is a service animal.4. Our party did not have over the permitted number of guests proven in which we all checked in and received wristbands by showing our ID. That should be on your audio and visual as well that you claim to have.5. It is sad that you continue with false allegations to attempt to distract from the fact you were discriminating against someone with a service dog and limiting their accommodations. You ultimately are stating if someone with a service animal chose your resort they could not come
I absolutely love Put-in-Bay! I remember visiting when I was younger, and then I went again in 2019 with one of my best friends. We found the perfect spot near the water to read books and listen to the waves. She and I made sure to get a big bag of salt water taffy to bring home with us! There are lots of great restaurants, and it’s always fun to play mini golf while I’m there. :)
DO NOT stay here , it is not worth it . they said that they wouldn’t charge the card right away yet they did , then after getting a call from the manager who was rude we wanted to cancel they took a $300 cancel fee AFTER charging $300 for the room . he texted and was absolutely rude . no way to run a place . trying to call now and no answer , manager phone goes straight to voicemail every time
Stayed here multiple times! Whether you are indulging in a girls weekend or having a family friendly vacation, this is the place to stay. Beautiful, comfortable rooms and a great pool gives that vibe of a no-cares vacation.As a plus, the resort is center to everything. Rent a golf cart and explore all the wonderful amenities of the island!
We have stayed in multiple places in Put-In-Bay, but the most centralized and worry-free was the Put-In-Bay Resort. It is in walking distance to everything. The center of town is less than a 5 minute walk. We had a package that included a golf cart for our entire stay and it made all the difference in seeing the whole island. The Sand Bar is a must do. Lots of arcade games in addition to a HUGE outdoor pool with great food and music! PIB or Bust!
Was a quiet stay .shower was ok ,a/c worked great,Room wasnt the cleanest ,bedding either, found other peoples hair tie under pillow area ,spray wax container under dresser. Thank goodness we took our own bedding for the trip , room smells like mildew, carpet dirty didnt feel comfortable at all walking around with out shoes on. Employees under trained not very helpful. Will return to pib defently choose another place to sleep.
Positive: Nice pool and clean Negative: To strict lots of rules. Felt like I couldnt come and go with having to show that I was staying at hotel, and couldnt have anyone that was not staying over night go past the front desk. Had family staying at another hotel that couldnt come to room
They had our whole party reviews removed. That’s real cute 😂. They screwed up our bachelorette party reservations. Blamed us and then kept our money😂😂. If we sent an email in April for our Aug reservation and you send a confirmation email for the date change. If you had two rooms booked same name do I have to call twice to get the second room changed? You do with these guys 😂😂zero accountability. Your management is terrible. If you delete I will keep posting.
The only issue we had our credit card numbers were stolen. We know it had to have been when we rented the golf cart at the front desk or bought a drink at the tiki bar in the pool area. It was a brand new card and within an hour we received a call there was a $3200 and a $300 attempted charge on our card. The funny thing is while asking about this at the front desk and asking for my photo scanned card and drivers license copy that was retained another guest spoke up and said the same thing happened to her the year before. I have read a few reviews here about this same issue. This was the stay was great other than that issue. The cost was reasonable and it walking distance to town. I am glad the credit card company called me to confirm the charges before accepting them.
Put-in-Bay Resort is very nice. If I could I would give it between a 3-4 star for various reasons. If you continue reading, youll know why. First of all it is very conveniently located just a short two blocks away from the main downtown area. We stayed in the villas which are across the street from the hotel and the pool facility. The hotel is very nice as is the outdoor area, pool, hot tub and bar area. Lots of chaise lounges for guests. Clean and well kept. The staff we dealt with were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The villas are very affordable for four single ladies. Our villa had 4 bedrooms and three full bathrooms on three floors. There is a porch and also below that there is a paver patio with tables, a grill, and places to gather for more people. The villa is very basically furnished. The kitchen is a galley kitchen. Not too much in the way of cooking utensils, and dishes, but why would you need that at Put-in-Bay steps away from restaurants? We werent planning to cook. Heres why Id rate it a three star: The furnishings are well worn and basic, (thats not really a problem, but Im much older than the regular PIB demographic and Im used to a little more luxury...but I can handle this for two days!) the pillows were not comfortable but the beds were; there is a liquid soap dispenser next to the sink in each of the bathrooms, along with a liquid lotion dispenser. But there is no soap dispenser in the shower, nor do they provide bar soap or shampoo, etc. It didnt bother me as I always travel with my own bar soap and shampoo. In my bathroom (up on the top floor) I didnt have any washcloths, but the other bathrooms had washcloths provided. Also in all bathrooms, the only toilet paper we had when we arrived was what was on the roll, and that was near the end of the roll. The next morning we saw the housekeeping staff and they provided us with two extra rolls for each bathroom. So actually I highly recommend this property to you if you are coming up to Put-in-Bay. Im just saying you might want to bring your own pillow, soap and personal hair care products. This is really not a facility for children even though there is a lot of space. One more thing: if you want to have a golf cart at your disposal, you can only use one company approved by the resort. We rented a golf cart, but found we really didnt need it. The only thing that was a little disconcerting was we paid $60/day for the golf cart and the company also charged an additional $20 for us to keep it overnight. Thats my bad not seeing that in the contract. But Im just telling other people who read this review, to consider all of this because for two days the golf cart rental was $160.00. Definitely not worth it when you are staying in the downtown area because you dont need it. You can walk everywhere!
The service there was very un friendly, priced out the room pre paid then was told we had to pay double what we were quoted online for. Breakfast are was super crowded and during a time like this we had to eat in a very confined area which is crazy. Had to wear these dumb wrist bands that if you lost were a 100$ charge on. The whole experience was absolutely terrible i would use a tent before ever going to this place again.
Poor customer service ! Seems like every bad review , they have the same answer. Which proves my original- worst customer service I’ve every experienced. Yes I responded to the resent confirmation you sent after reading the ridiculous 15 day rule after being in hospital , missing the deadline by 1 day. Your end officially canceled it days later. So when a person has a legit reason for missing by 1 day and talked to the very rude staff, a response to the repeat request is usually good customer service and understanding. Especially when room is re booked and you double dip by keeping my 3 hundred
This place is a really poor mans sprink break. The rooms or moldy smelling, curtains looked to have vomit on them, and for some crazy reckless reasons, this place had no exterior lights. I mean you pull the cart into the complex and pitch black, I needed a flashlight to put the pad lock on the golf cart. The pungent smell of marijuana was literally everywhere, even had two guys smoking in the elevator. People were lounging around the parking lot smoking week, and people were sitting in the staff only carts in the dark both smoking. This place is low rent, low brow, and a powder keg waiting to explode with the level of clientele. I would never come back and would encourage anyone I know to rent a house which is what we did after day 3 of this tragedy.
Safe didnt work. Refrigerator didnt close- couldnt use. Room smelled like mold. Bed was lousy and frame kept making cracking noises. Theres rust on the metal in the bathroom, and the toilet kept running.Very outdated. And a staff member was picking his nose and eating it. Yuck!!! I cant wait to check out of here tomorrow!!!
This is one of the best place to visit on any weekend; Especially the place will be lit during any long weekends. Having said that, there are tons of things to do on the island ranging from jet skiing, parasailing, boating, riding on golf carts, partying which is all super fun. The seafood on the Upper Deck or any restaurants around are delicious. I already visited this place 6 times in the last 3 years and planning on visiting again this year as well.
Would give 0 stars if I could. The manager completely screwed my group over and only moved one room when we had two booked. Then said “we had to email two times, one for each room” to move both. Complete stupidity. They managed to get my first review removed, but I will keep posting until it sticks. Basically told us to go screw ourselves instead of fixing the situation. Would never, ever book here again!
I really enjoyed our stay at the resort. The staff were friendly to my whole family. The pool was clean and fun to hang out in. The room was clean and housekeeping did a great job keeping it that way. The continental breakfast was simple and enjoyable. We would stay here again. The hot tub was a favorite with us. The call we got to confirm our stay before we arrived was surprising and welcoming. Our children felt comfortable here and the staff were very respectful to them, which we appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The good times begin on the ferry ride over to Put in Bay! Then you get to the island and get to hop on a golf cart and that is where your worries really melt away and the fun really begins! The restaurants, wineries, entertainment, and lodging are absolutely superb and endless. Not to mention, the service and people on the island are so welcoming! The memories you will have are worth the trip!
For $206 a night on a week night, you can probably find alternative accommodations.They have a table/desk in room, but no chair, no microwave, and our adjustable shower head was broken so it was a challenge to shower.On the upside, the staff was friendly, and they did offer complimentary coffee and bagles each morning.
Its been a great place to stay. Room was spacious with maintained temperature. TV had all required channels. Location was perfect - Not too close and yet not so far from all the hush bush if town. The pool was good and the bar next to it was awesome!Our 4 year old had a lot of fun.Morning breakfast was good. Most importantly they had good amount of parking space for golf carts and the quality of carts was good too.Overall, we liked the place. Will be there again!
Stayed for 3 days with my adult children and friends. Rented 2 rooms in New building. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Cleaning staff friendly. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Pool area beautiful and had much potential. Bartenders were the least friendly people and seemed like they were not wanting to be there. Definitely made for a less fun experience since it was a beautiful day at a pool bar. We had bar credit from a promotion but tipped 20% on the full amount of bill and he was still rude. While we wanted to enjoy the hotel, we did not go back to the pool and opted to venture out to friendlier places. I recommend staying here. Hope the management will get happier batenders to make it better.
Put in bay resort is a *Last Resort* . Resort does lacks character. Day staff need much instruction. Prison feeling, can’t bring drinks outside of pool, room was messy and re-cleaned. Is waaaaaaaay in the back where it belongs away from everything else. Does not emulate the openness, friendliness, and admiration of tourism as you see within the rest of the island. I witnessed overly dramatic attitudinal staff masked by an air of condescendence with an extreme tone of authority to guests, as if they were not understanding to guests staying with them; Guests, just arriving, guests who have been there for a few days, and ones leaving. Read owners comments to get an idea of the skill set. * You never know who will be staying with you*
Should have believed the reviews. We checked into the resort and received our pool view room which is not a pool view room. We look out directly at the emergency stairwell. There is mold around the entire tub surround and we had blood on a tile after we already used the apparent clean towel. There is gum on the carpet and a food stain on the lampshade. We went down to the front desk to simply ask for another room. The front desk is firm and does not care about you as a customer let me get that out right now...! We paid over $500 for a half full resort a week after Labor Day for Friday and Saturday. The biggest kicker to us was their liquor license was suspended for 20 days and the pool bar was closed and you are not allowed alcohol around the pool area. This place is a joke. Look at the photos and do not believe their photos online...
The room was great - however, the pool is open to the public and there were zero restrictions to how many people are allowed in. The pool was so crowded that you could not stand without bumping into someone. After deciding to go to a less crowded pool on Saturday, we returned about 5pm to shower in our room and witnessed a security personnel standing over top of a gentleman laying on the concrete connecting punches to his head 10-12 times. Several security personnel were present at the time watching along with many other spectators (several of which were smoking joints and blunts all while talking to the bouncers). Blood was all over the concrete in front of the walkway into the hotel. Will definitely pay more next time we visit PIB to stay at a safer hotel. This is definitely not a hotel I would feel safe taking my children let alone my wife. The front desk personnel were very nice - however I feel the security team is very corrupt considering what my wife and I witnessed this weekend. This place is/was one of the cheapest places to stay on the island which is why we decided to book here. After our experience, I would have much rather have paid twice as much to stay at a hotel that we did not have to step over blood on the sidewalk to walk into the hotel. Very disappointing experience.
Ive been to this resort twice over the last few years. Staff was always accommodating and friendly. Rooms were clean. One of things we appreciate most about staying here is they will store your luggage if you arrive early or depart a little later in the day. They are in a great location, not too far from the downtown area. The pool and hot tub are nice as well. This is a great place if you plan on staying at the Island!!!
Before we even got there , the hotel screwed up our reservations for Labor Day. They had us staying an extra night and would not let us modify our reservations from a 4 night stay to a 3 nights.Decided to cut my losses after reading the reviews.WATCH THE CHARGES ON YOUR CREDIT CARD TOO. I had to get a new credit card after I made my reservations due to charges for a Walmart in Sandusky . HAVENT BEEN TO SANDUSKY IN 20 YRS.
Will never stay at this resort again. I have been coming to PIB for years..and right off the ferry we tried to get a golf cart and they informed us if we are staying at PIB resort we won’t be able to park our golf cart on the resort property unless we rent the cart directly from the hotel. They said he’s the only one on the island that will literally move your golf cart if you park it at the hotel- even though we’re paying to stay there. Then we got stuck in the island Bc of weather conditions and they were BEYOND rude to us making us pay full weekend rates. Stated it wasn’t there fault the ferry’s were down. It wasn’t our fault either and we hadn’t planned on staying an extra day. We missed work and lost even more money having to pay more then we did the weekday rate. 10/10 will never stay there or recommend any of my friends to stay there!!
Stay away. If you like staying awake all night with the yelling and cussing in the hallway, then this is the place for you. The tub had hair in it, the pool is no place for young kids because of the indecent behavior and the continental breakfast consists of bread. I will go back to put-in-bay but not this resort.
We had a blast in put in bay. Took our 3 kids ages 14-17 and spent two days enjoying the island. Put in bay resort is a perfect central location. We rented a large 2 room suite and it was perfect for our family. The pool was a little crazy, but food was good and drinks were cold. With our kids crazy schedules, its difficult to find time to take a week long family vacation but put in bay and the resort were a great alternative for a 3 day get away..
The villas were very clean and spacious! It was perfect for our group. They are comfortable for 8 people to stay in while still offering privacy. It’s located really close to down town so it’s easy to get to. Hotel staff held onto our bags until it was time to check-in so we didn’t have to worry about them! We will definitely be back!
It was just as described. It was a wonderful stay with a wonderful view and everyone was so kind and helpful. Going to PIB has become a vacation destination for us and we recommend this to friends and family. We have even went right after labor day one year and it was still as wonderful as ever with hust a slower pace. Highly recommend this to everyone
Put-in-Bay is our favorite local summertime getaway whether its with the family or just the adults! When we go with the kids (I recommend doing this midweek rather than on the weekend), they love riding around the island in the golf cart, eating lunch on the boardwalk, playing in the sand boat at Mojito Bay, visiting the butterfly house and mining at Perrys Cave, mini-golf, and playing on the play structure in the park! I dont think I need to go into great detail about the fun we have with just the adults but theres always lots of live music, yummy food, and lively bartenders and servers.
Staying on PIB is wonderful. It can be peaceful, or as much of a party as you want to have. Great for couples, a small group of friends or large group friends. There are things to do for all ages. Food in all price ranges, and the same goes for accommodations. And getting there is half the fun. There is so much to do on this island from visiting history, to sampling wine, to relaxing on the beach.
I went last year right before the season started. The updated room was nice with 3 queen beds and a large updated bathroom. Being that the pool/hot tub was opened up for us that night it was a bit high on chlorine- but the hot tub was nice since it was chilly out. The Continental breakfast was good to start our day off. I would consider staying here again but i will go in season next time as many shops were not open yet. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Upon arriving to check in it was very busy, but the front desk employees were quick and efficient. Our room was right outside of the pool area and hot tub, which made for excellent people watching. Room was clean comfortable. The continental breakfast was good Overall a very nice place. Would definitely stay there again.
We love this place, the best swim up bar on the island. Walking distance to the main street. Feel safer with mandatory wrist bands to hotel. Always friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are always clean and well supplied. All the reasons why weve stayed there 7 years straight!
Had a reservation to stay 5/28, 5/29 got to the jet express to find out they werent running and we had no way to get across so after driving 4 hours we had to turn and go back home only to find out they wont reimburse us because we could have taken a helicopter, how in the world do they expect people to know they can fly there when it was too windy to ride on a boat and that was just another added expense so my family lost a $1000 plus 8 hours travel, I will be calling and complaining day after day and will write reviews on every social media I can for days. We have traveled there several times with friends and I will never give them another dime. So disappointed in the whole situation. And how the staff acted like it was our fault. So confused how they think this is ok🤷♀️🤬
In response to my review from a week ago, Suspected Credit Card Fraud- BEWARE!, the owner has twisted my review and inaccurately described my (and my friends experience).He responded: You are correct in your statement our employees have no access to credit card information nor do we store this. We do not even process cards on site and use only a VISA authorized processor.THIS IS 100% UNTRUE! The front desk clerks ask for credit cards to be handed over to them at check in, along with drivers licenses. I am not accusing these clerks of fraud, but claiming that the employees there NEVER see a full credit card number is patently false.Please, check you credit card statements after you check out of this place AND read my lengthy review from a week ago (early August 2021) before you take the risk we regret we did.
The resort isnt what it used to be. It is not for the over 50 crowd. The lobby personnel are not friendly. After a large pool fight broke out and had to be closed we were asked to put on our hotel wrist bands that were not given to us at check in, we found someone had taken two of the 4 allotted to us. There is something not right going on there.
My wife and I stayed here in the fall for our first time and we had an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. We were able to take advantage of the pool, hot tub, and the outdoor bar which were very nice accommodations. Our room was very clean and welcoming. They have an amazing continental breakfast with many options. We look forward to visiting this resort again and cant wait for the amazing breakfast they serve!
We stayed at the Commodore In Put-in-bay for four days. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had! There are so many things and activities to do on the island. Many bars and restaurants and the night life is AMAZING!! There are SO many pools in town put-in-bay!!! You will NOT be bored at all visiting Put-in-Bay island!!
We had the luxury suite and it was perfect for 4 ppl if you like having a little extra room. Full size living room area with a pull out sofa bed (which we ddnt use), a lounge chair with ottoman, desk, full dresser for extra clothes below the 55 tv and a round table with 4 chairs by the wet bar. Microwave, large garage can, small sink & lots of counterspace. Bathroom separate from double bowl sink area which is great so u can get ready while someone is using bathroom area. Two big comfy queen beds with big tv in separate room.Staff was SO friendly and truly exceeded my expectations. The continental breakfast offers cereals, fruits, breads, juices & coffees. Loved the hazelnut option! Located 2 blocks off the main street which is in complete walking distance but our package included a golf cart. Pool area is very nice and well kept also. Staff were continuously cleaning up. Staff also requires guests to wear a wristband while staying with them in order to keep non-guests out and are fairly strict with it. I persoanlly liked that although some may not. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!!!
Updated review, this one my first time ever at put Bay, first time ever staying at there resort and upon arrival staff was very rude to us, we brushed it off, then as we were leaving my card I had gave them the day before I couldnt find, I had all my cards but that one so I ask if they can check cause there Noone they handed back, turns out they did and my friend had in her beach bag to the whole time but it still doesnt change the fact that they were rude about the entire situation and then basically well it ok we are being rude cause your rude, what kind of place are you running here, save you money and sanity and go somewhere else I promise you will save a huge headache. Update read the bad reviews and look at the owner response, no wonder the employees act like thatUpdated edit: regardless of card situation your staff had an attitude upon check in, since you didnt gather from the one star we will not stay there ever
I have stayed here twice with a group of friends and love it both times. The rooms and accommodations are nice and in a great location for walking to everything. The highlight both trips has been the pool. The swim up bar, drinks, and food are all great. Its always such a fun atmosphere with a DJ and lots of other guests to keep the party going. Would definitely recommend for a group of young adults looking for a weekend getaway.
We stayed on a Sunday but our room was not ready until 4:00. The staff was friendly. There was no breakfast due to the pandemic. The room was sufficient. The toilet was oddly rather small. The loud music is on at the pool area during the day until about 8:00 p.m. Looked fun but not relaxing. It seemed like a party place and not for us. I would not stay there again.
My husband and I stay at the PIB Resort and Conference center at least 2-3 times a year. We have never had a bad experience there. Everyone is always so friendly, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. It is always our go-to place to stay. Weve also stayed in the Villas which are great for a big group of people. Highly recommend!
Our stay was terrible. I wouldnt even give them one star if I had that choice. The staff was rude. The room wasnt even cleaned properly. Our child found a hair ball on the floor from someone else staying there. The door to the bathroom doesnt have a lock on it and it wasnt on the track properly. We didnt even get the room we asked for and there is supposed to be no swimming after 10pm and they allowed some people to be in the pool but not others. Also, there is no coffee in the rooms either. You also cant have anyone elses golf cart parked on there property. However we will never stay here again with or without kids.
I stayed at the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center once in September 2016 and twice in Summer 2017. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the facility and the comfort of the rooms! The magnanimous whirlpool was amazing and the swim up bar was fabulous! The Blue Marlin rocks! The bartender who plays Venus (Channel 3 on Sirius Radio) was fantastic! I loved the party atmosphere and cannot wait to return. I listen to Venus in my car and think of the amazing times I had at the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center.Additionally, I stayed at the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center in May 2018, June 2018, and September 2018. It was very peaceful in May 2018 but I stayed on a Thursday night in June and would not recommend that. It was booked and the people by the pool were extremely loud. However, the weather was beautiful each time! The staff was so accommodating. I cannot wait to stay at this Resort again this Summer (or Spring).
My friends and I had a great time at the PIB Resort and Conference Center. The rooms were very accommodating for larger parties, were newly renovated, and had a modern feel. Bathrooms were huge and lots of counter space for multiple people to get ready at once.Even with the weather being a little chilly the weekend we were there, that did not stop the fun at the pool party. We had an absolute BLAST and the DJ was awesome. Food and drinks were great, and service did not take long despite a very busy scene. Looking forward to taking a trip back!
Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. There was ripped linen on one of the beds, the tv remotes did not work right, and the drain in the shower was not staying open. Staff was quick to respond, but could not get the drain fixed. We had to shower with a wash cloth holding the drain open. Pool was excellent. Hot tub looked great, but we didnt get in, it was an 80 degree day. Golf cart kept backfiring and was a little bit loud. It was right at 250 for the night for a six person room with the Golf cart. There was a nice continental breakfast, but all of the resorts they own use one dining area, so it does get very crowded. Check in staff was abrupt and not very knowledgeable. Checkout staff was friendly and accommodating.
Memorial Day Weekend is always our first weekend to visit Put-in-Bay and this year it was delayed by some bad weather but the Put-in-Bay Resort really went out of their way to make sure we had the best time possible. The mainland was flooded in a few parts but we ended up flying over like most other people did and the next day it was sunny and back to normal!
It was so dirty i would rather sleep on the streets. right when i walked in the smell made me want to vomit. Especially the interesting people walking in…. and the attitude the front desk had which was very unprofessional. i also noticed the manager gives quiet an attitude when responding to reviews.do you think that’s professional. i don’t think so! this is disgusting and i will never go back DONT LISTEN TO THE GOOD REVIEWS THEIR LYING!!! OR THEY ARE MAKING THEIR OWN REVIEWS. BEWARE!!!
First time here and will never gonna go back! Staff stole my cc number and attempted to purchase something. When I confronted the GM about making photocopies of my cc she said it was legal and standard. It’s not! She refuses to shred as we were checking out. She also dismissed my concerns about the use of my card. They did not serve breakfast even though their website advertises this. The room phones didn’t work. Hallways smelled like pot and cigarettes. The smoke alarms went off nightly due to people not following the non smoking policy. Staff doesn’t care. Gross pool. Gross bathrooms on entry level. Place is an absolute joke for any adult. Honestly it’s best for those who’ve are 18-25.
We stayed here on a girls trip. We had a suite. Everything was great. Free breakfast in the morning. Front desk had great customer service. Golf carts are easily accessible with plenty of parking. The pool was super fun with an awesome swim up bar. I loved the wings. Ive stayed at several hotels on the island and this is definitely my favorite
Great centrally located place to stay while you’re exploring the island. The rooms were clean and had everything you expect from a hotel. The hotel grounds are gorgeous. While we were there on a cold, rainy weekend in spring, I’d imagine the pool and fire pits would be the place to be on a warm summer evening. The hotel staff went out and opened the hot tub JUST for us one cold and rainy night - and we had a blast. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!
I have not yet been to Put-in-Bay, but I recently booked this resort. It has a great location, looks clean from the pictures, and the pools look like a lot of fun! This is also one of the few places that does not have a 3 night minimum stay, which is very accommodating for guests who only want to spend a weekend visiting. Also, this resort serves free breakfast on everyday but Saturdays. So far I have had a good experience with the Resort employees.
Excellent place to stay! We first came to Put-in-bay 3 years ago, we didnt know then that this would become an annual trip for us. Weve never been a couple that goes on many trips but our stay in this hotel and the area itself has become part of us. Rooms are clean and updated, bedding is actually very comfortable, the breakfast is superb, and very best of all the staff is very kind, I never felt like they were too busy to help, and they seem to really love what they do. Im incredibly grateful that this hotel and little island has entered my life, it brings me and my husband a lot of joy and helps rekindle our romance! We LOVE this place! Excellent excellent excellent!
THE SUNSETS there are AH-MAZING!We havent gone to Put-in-Bay and not had a great time! Great place to party with friends/family. Lots of bachelor/bachelorette parties happen here!The night life is a blast! Rent a golf cart and explore! Even the kiddos would enjoy going through the week. Our favorite places to visit are definitely the swim up bars, Frostys, actually theres not much we dont like visiting. I recommend ALL my friends/family to at least go once--you wont regret it!
For the 3rd time in 4 visits my credit card numbers were taken. I just assumed it was on 9f the bars but this year... we didnt go to a single bar. We stayed at the hotel and pool bar because everything closed early... then I read other reviews on various sites and it happened to them.I love the place... but dont give anyone your CC
Its a motel with a bar and pool on an island. Nothing more, nothing less. Hotel staff was pretty friendly but the guy bartending was arrogant and unwelcoming. The room I stayed in reminded me of a budget motel not worth 60 let alone 200. Robbery. When I booked the room online it mentioned a pool view with a balcony for a 10 upcharge.. The balcony was nothing more than a walk way to the rooms on the pool side. Last but not least, if you book online through 3rd party sites make sure you read the fine print... They were pay when you arrive but charged me the whole cost of the room for a non refundable deposit. Overall its not terrible but dont go expecting high quality.
I love this place! The first time we stayed here, we had two grandchildren with us. They loved the pool and the golf cart. We loved the clean rooms, the friendliness of the helpful staff, and the proximity to so many enjoyable things to do. The second time, we brought six members of the family. Relaxing, fun, and great atmosphere.
Went with a group of about 10 for my brothers bachelor party. We got one room at the conference center and an 8 person condo near the airport. I only spent about an hour in the room at the resort, but it seemed nice. The condo was great for a large group. Everything was clean and updated. We had a lot of fun at the pool at the resort. Good music and a great swim up bar. If you stay at the condo, youll probably want to rent a golf cart or two to get to downtown.
Stayed in the villas and was a fun experience for a bachelor party weekend. Plenty of room for 10 guys and gear. Loved having a front porch and a huge shared patio meeting the neighbors. Is a wild time at the hotel bar pool area, this is not a place I would bring a family with kids. Its starts bumping at about 11 am every day so if your one for afternoon cat nap good luck.
Put-in-Bay is truly an affordable vacation both for families, couples, and groups! I absolutely love staying over because the party doesnt stop! There is plenty to do regardless of your age or group with which youre traveling. The hotels, resorts, and rentals are all equally amazing for different reason, and if you cant find fun at Put-in-Bay, then youre doing it wrong!
Booked a room with a couple co-workers and it was very nice. The staff here is absolutely amazing! They are so friendly and will go out of there way to accommodate you the best they can. We had to stay over because the weather stopped the Miller Ferry from running and ended up just staying in the same room. The breakfast in the AM is nice as well. The have mostly little things but they do have eggs and sausage along with cereal and what not. The rooms are clean and if you need anything just ask Im sure they can help....
Overall it’s a good place to stay. Bathroom floor in our room (301) is cracked. Pool is always packed, but it’s fun once you’re in it and drinking. The wait for a drink is really long. I personally think they should have beer carts stationed throughout the pool that let you go up and pay cash for beer. I would imagine that would shorten the lines quite a bit.
Stayed at this Resort last summer with friends. Check-in was super easy and the staff was friendly. We were very satisfied with our room. It was clean and comfortable. Our experience at this Resort made our vacation to Put-in-Bay even better! I will definitely be staying here during future vacations and would recommend to others as well.
We are on the island often! When we dont bring our boat we always stay at the Put In Bay resort! The staff is amazing! They are always willing to help. Our room is always clean and they are definitely the most updated on the island. The pool is awesome and the bar staff handles large crowds like its a slow day! Love how close its is to downtown but yet far enough away to not hear everything!
Edit to add: we only had 3 guests. All of which showed their IDs, signed their name, and was given a wrist band. Nobody else stepped foot in the room. Also did not receive an email or a call from them 14 days prior or even around that time. Highly unprofessional. When I called to ask for the owners name /number so I can call in the morning to have my personal information removed from the reply; I was answered with “it’s 10:02pm that’s not going to happen”. Stay far far away.We started off with a disgusting room, trash on the floor, splatters(that look like blood) on the wall, crumbs in our bed. We complained, they said it would be cleaned and it was not. We were not even offered anything to make it better such as compensation. The pool was not heated as advertised. There was drilling and sawing in the rooms next to us that woke up numerous other guest at 8am and the manager kaitlyn argued that she could not do anything about it because she claims it did not happen. She said they were fully booked and every single room was full (so much for covid-19). We paid too much money for this room to have been such a terrible experience. Will never return and will tell everyone to not go.
I have stayed here several times and keep going back. This resort is in a great location! I love the convenience of the golf cart, which is the best way to get around the island. The service has always be wonderful during my stays. The outdoor pool and the outdoor bar are a great amenities! Very friendly bar tenders and love the fish bowl drink! 🍹The resort also has a Continental breakfast that has always been great! I havent stayed here since they have remodeled but would look forward to it this summer. Put in Bay is an Awesome Place to visit and I have always enjoyed staying at Put In Bay Resorts during my visits! I would recommend staying here if you travel to the island! 🌴🌞🌴 Love PIB 💚
Location was great! The staff was not very friendly and at times bordered rude. The room was OK, not great but not horrible. It is definitely a party hotel, which I was unaware of until I witnessed three very drunk people within 5 minutes of arriving around 7pm. Stay here if you want a party. Dont stay here if you are looking for a family vacation or quiet relaxing time.
Beautiful Resort!!!I had a wonderful time at Put-in-Bay Resort & Conference Center, the atmosphere was fun, and so convenient to downtown Put-in-Bay.I really like that they have golf carts for rent, and the staff was super friendly and helpful!Very nice clean room, pool area and grounds - will definitely be my hotel of choice for my next trip to Put-in-Bay!Reserve early because they do book up quickly for the summer months.
This is the 6th time in the last 8 years I have stayed on the balcony room side. I was very disappointed that they have taken all balcony privileges away, such as NO CHAIRS ON THE BALCONIES to sit outside of your room and gather with friends staying in the rooms beside you. Also there is no longer smoking on the balconies, they now call themselves a smoke free property unless you are at the blue marlin drinking at the pool. I’m sorry but for paying top dollar for balcony side, we are getting none of the perks. I will not stay here again.Of course the rooms were clean and staff was courteous. My issue is more with the lack of “amenities” I am accustomed to and expect.I was able to locate a few smoker friendly (outside of course) hotels that have great areas for grilling, allow coolers and friends to gather. Oh yes, and both places I found are clean and quite a bit cheaper.
Would leave 0 stars if I could. The hotel staff and management are the WORST I have ever encountered. They were SO rude & unprofessional. Please save yourself the money & time & DO NOT book here. We should have read the reviews before we decided to book for the weekend. Would love to have a chat with the owner of this facility about his employees.
I refuse to stay anywhere else in Put-in-Bay besides here! They have a ton of golf-carts available on-site. The swim-up bar is AWESOME, one of my favorite drinking spots on the whole island. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Best hotel breakfast Ive had anywhere. I recommend this place to everyone I know!
I was going to host a bachelorette party here for my best friend. Unfortunately, due to covid she had to post pone her wedding until next year. When I tried to contact the resort about cancelling our reservation, due to safety concerns (more than a month away from the stay dates) the office was completely rude and refused to issue a refund for our $600+ deposit. They said they wouldnt give us our deposit back unless the governor shut them down again. They were complete inflexible and rude. We have three nurses in our group of 8 and none of use want to get anyone else sick. But now we are being forced to choose between $600 and risk our (and other peoples) health. I cant believe a company would act like this right now. I couldnt believe how rude the response was on top of the fact that they would willingly put their employees and patrons at risk. This company obviously does not care about your health and I would not recommend booking a trip during this time because this resort will steal your money.
We have been to this resort numerous times over the years. It is always the first place we look to book when we are visiting. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. An example would be when we came up on the motorcycle and ran into a monsoon! Our clothes for the weekend ended up getting soaked in the saddlebags. WIth it still raining and no close laundromat the staff tossed our clothes into their washer/dryer. Another time we ended up stranded on the island due to weather and they made staying an extra day simple and easy.On our last trip we stayed in the newly renovated section. The shower was amazing and what you typically find at 5 star tropical resorts. The patio bar staff is always friendly and the DJ knows how to use music to keep the guest and party going! Plus downtown is a short couple blocks away in any direction.We highly recommend the Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center for anyone staying on the island!
My husband and I stayed here with some friends for an overnight getaway. We had a great time at the many attractions around Put-in-Bay and the resort certainly met our expectations. The room was clean, our rate was reasonable, and we didnt have any issues or problems at all. Any staff interactions were positive and everyone seemed friendly. We would recommend Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center.
Great girls weekend getaway! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon in August to a Vegas-style pool party. Lots of people, DJ, pool games, even some delicious strawberry filled shots poolside. Very convenient location as well. Naturally, some friends lost shoes, hats etc and the following morning the staff left all the lost items on a table.Basic-style room but no complaints there, you dont spend time in the room on vacation anyways. We will definitely return!
The room we stayed in was overpriced to high hell but it was clean and the bed was comfortable! You would think that we would be able to use the pool after spend 668 for two nights in a standard room but instead of they crowd the pool area to capacity and make the actual guest wait due to covid! When I asked the staff they were very LOUD as well as rude! The only good thing was the that the room was clean other than that the staff is trash I wouldn’t stay again!
We stayed at this resort for my best friends 30th birthday. It was a large space with plenty of room and ideal location! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from here. The pool area was cute, although too cold to swim and the customer service was very friendly and helpful. They were able to give insight of popular bars and recomend eatery. Definitely will staying here again!
My wife and our 2 teens have stayed at the PIB Resorts a number of times. We have really enjoyed our visits. The resort is very clean and modern. The outdoor pool is really nice.There is tons of things to do for adults, teens and kids. It is a great location ,close to everything downtown. We hope to be back this summer!
We chose the Resort and Conference Center for its location close to the main strip and the low rates. The hotel was really nice and the rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We went early in the season so a lot of businesses were not open yet. We would definitely stay here again and next time will make sure to come when its warmer and we can enjoy the pool.
I have stayed at this hotel twice, both over Memorial Day weekend in 2014 and 2015. We had a great stay both times! The continental breakfast provided has a great variety of foods, there are golf carts to rent right outside of the hotel, and the pool area is the best on the island! The hot tub is great for colder weather temperatures, and the environment with entertainment, music and contests at the pool make you want to stay all day! We will be staying here the next time we return, and would recommend it to future people visiting the island.
I love staying at this resort. It’s always clean, cleanest place on the island (stayed at every hotel). My friends and I come every year for spring fling for fall ball. We never have had any issues or complaints. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect and easy to get anywhere you want to go. The pool is amazing, and always clean. Cannot say enough great things!
This is the best place to stay on the island. The rooms are very nice with very comfortable beds and the staff is really helpful. The hotel is convenient so that you can get to other attractions on the island with ease. The pool is very nice and so is the Blue Marlin also located at the resort. I cant wait for my next visit.
They ruined our vacation. I wish I could give 0 stars. The lady in the desk ( her name is Kyle) was very rude to us. She looked very young and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time here. Ceder point is pretty close and u will probably end up paying about the same lol.
We just stayed there last weekend. Great location and clean rooms. We were a little disappointed that our room was across the street on the 3rd floor as we requested 1st floor close to the pool but it worked out ok. Loved the pool and swim up bar however the bartender Nick L. was extremely rude. We witnessed him being rude to other guest then when we wanted a drink we had to yell to get his attention(he was not waiting on anyone, the bar was not busy and he was just standing at the other end). We stayed for 2 drinks. I paid with my card and my friend was going to leave a cash tip. He looked at my receipt in front of me and when he saw there was no tip got an attitude and a nasty look on his face(she didnt have a chance to even get the cash out). Needless to say that attitude affected his tip. Overall we will consider this hotel again I just hope we have a better bartender.
Weve gone the past 3 year to the Put in Bay and have always stayed at the PIB Resort and Conference Center. The rooms have been updated and have always been very clean. Weve rented a golf cart each time and have always had one ready and it ran very well. The Blue Marlin Swim up bar is great with a fantastic selection of mixed drinks and beers. The free breakfast has always been excellent with many different choices for kids and adults. The location is walking distance to downtown or from the Jet Express. With the amenities available you absolutely cannot beat the price you pay.
Our stay was great! I cant believe all of the bad reviews on here. The room was very clean, the free toiletries were organic and the staff was wonderful. Every staff member we saw either at the front desk or in the hallways was warm and friendly. They do allow you to leave you luggage here in a locked room before check-in, and they were willing to let us get into our room early because it was clean and ready to go. This is the place I will always stay--I like the cleanliness and the clientele are not your typical drink til you puke crowd. The only suggestion my husband and I have (we are both in our early 40s) is to update the music choice at the pool. I dont think Billy Joel or Elton John, although both great musicians, are good choices for an upbeat fun atmosphere. It reminded me of being in a dark biker bar instead of at a sunny pool. Great place, and great staff...will definitely stay here again :)
Had an amazing time at The Put in Bay Resort and Conference Center last Summer for the 4th weekend. We got two rooms both were clean and comfortable, they had a great DJ and the pool was always fun. The location is excellent and you can literally walk anywhere you want to go. We took the car over on the ferry, and they had parking for us. Can’t wait until the trip this summer when we will be staying there again.
I went on a vacation at the beginning of this summer, it was to another ohio city that wasnt on an island. The choice of motel was terrible, the city was unfriendly, and we felt like the city kicked my friends and I out when we left. This is not the case for the put in bay resort and conference center and put in bay in general. We are a group of very rowdy drinkers, and it was awesome to feel the energy of the island. The people were all so happy and treated us very well. We all felt welcome back and very well might go back next year. It was a great experience. Relatively cheap considering it was on an island. If youre looking to get away and not break the bank, consider this as your hotel.
The best time we had in Put in Bay was the time a storm came as we were on the Ferry heading back and there was a scottish band playing throughtout the entire ride back.. the time that day on the Island was so much fun. we spent the day with another couple and we rented bikes and had lunch and dinner and drinks and really saw the entire Island.
We stayed in a Villa here and had a great weekend. The accommodations fit around 8-10 of us comfortably, we had pur own balcony and fire pit area, and were very close to most of the island has to offer. Seemed very new and was very clean. Id gladly come back for another stay. Breakfast was mind of busy though, have to get there early!
AS AN Ohioan, I have been visiting Put in Bay for 15 years and will continue every year. Definitely a must every summer, at least once a month. Let me tell you, Put-in-Bay Resort is THE #1 hotel to stay at for a weekend getaway. The front desk concierge was phenomenal! From check in to check out I was completely satisfied. I had booked 1 night with an online app and as the days went on my friend and I decided to add additional nights but the app I original booked didnt have any other nights available so I found another app and booked 2 additional nights of course for a different room. We stayed Thurs - Sun. When we arrived I asked to combine the 2 bookings into 1 room and I couldnt be more happy with our room. We had a view of the pool and easily accessible to the elevator/stairs. Although we didnt spend much time in our room, it was very clean, spacious and just what we were looking for. The beds were amazingly comfortable and I had no problem sleeping in it. I will definitely stay at Put-inBay Resorts again and I have already recommended to many friends and coworkers to stay here . Summer weekends at PIB are like no other. Memories to remember. Thank you Put-in-Bay Resorts highly recommend.
The hotel is generally clean and staff are courteous. The beds in our room (a 2 room suite) were rock hard and at the end of my stay I was so glad I didnt have to sleep another night in those beds. The fold out couch was more comfortable. The pool wasnt very clean, with slime and gunk preventing the use of some of the corner swim up bar stools. The bartender at the swim up bar was kind of rude. Our reservation included a golf cart which constantly read low fuel even though it had apparently just been filled and the accelerator cable was so loose it couldnt get up to speed and actually registered as a decent running pace on my fitness tracker. Overnight staff locked up the carts and morning staff had a hard time finding a key so we could use our cart.
I’ve stayed here multiple times and love it more and more after every trip. The location is amazing! It’s so close to everything Put In Bay has to offer and the swim up bar at the pool is definitely an added bonus! The staff continuously goes above and beyond to meet your needs and keeps the resort clean and beautiful during the summer months. I’ll for sure be coming back!!
Third time staying at the hotel and each time gets better! They were very helpful! My husband was unlawfully charged and arrested by the islands police. The cop harassed me at my hotel room at 4am and bullied my husband. The hotel desk manager checked the cameras for me to confirm it was a cop. Very lovely staff and room!!
Absolutely terrible. This place is a scam and the management is TERRIBLE. Super rude and they don’t deserve a dime from anyone. The room had bugs everywhere, there were drugs under the sink (aka house keeping must be pretty good right?) We got kicked out of the hotel for having too many people in the room, and supposedly had video footage of us sneaking another person in the room (which never happened) and oh guess what, they refused to show us the footage. Also how ironic that this same exact thing happened to my boyfriend last summer and they had to pay the hotel 1200 dollars for a broken elevator and they wouldn’t show them the video footage either. What a waste of time and money to deal with such disrespectful and disgusting people. Will never return to this disgusting place. Book a different hotel, it’s not worth the scams these people play.
Put-in-Bay Resort & Conference Center puts on a very good sales pitch and make you think they will treat you like gold at a cheaper cost. None of that is true. We stayed here from 6-3 to 6-7-17. Our room was cleaned ONE TIME while we were there. I talked to Brenda Case, Front Desk Manager, who stated that the Ladies working on the rooms every morning are not cleaning Ladies. They are preparing the rooms for the new reservations. They are to only leave new clean towels in the room, if you ask for them to leave clean towels. They are not expected to change your sheets. And Brenda said they dont run the sweeper and do not clean the bathrooms. It was only after I complained on the last day, did our room get cleaned for one night, the last night. We have have stayed at many other hotels at PIB and the other hotels are always great. We will be staying at all the OTHER hotels, from now on !!
Got a call from the manager to confirm and saying thank you for choosing them for our visit, that to me said allot, Ive never had that from any hotel Ive stayed at. Pool and spa is nice kept clean, the continental breakfast is simple, Id probably have a variety instead of having the same thing, but they dont have to offer this, so thankful to have that offered, housekeeping always kept things clean, the WiFi could be better but that also doesnt have to be offered so better then not having WiFi and chewing up your data. Thank you for a great experience the staff was wonderful.

2022-06-21The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We arrived before check in, the staff put our luggage in a locked room and let us go to the pool. However, don’t let the word “resort” mislead you. The only thing resort like about this hotel was the band they put on your wrist. Our group was prepared for the crazy pool party they have on Friday and Saturday. A real resort only lets hotel guests into the pool area, this pool was open to the public. It was overcrowded, the hot tub probably had 100 people in it. You are not permitted to bring your own cups or beverages to the pool, but apparently people can bring their own dope. People were smoking weed at they pool, on the balcony and in the rooms next to us. The bar no longer serves food, except pizza, so I was disappointed about that-they need to update their website. The breakfast was good, unfortunately the hotel doesn’t serve breakfast on the weekends. Hopefully the new owners will make improvements.

2022-05-19Stayed 1 night here with a couple friends for a weekend trip. Overall, a decent hotel. Walking distance to the bars, restaurants and downtown so we didnt feel the need to rent a golf cart. Beds werent the most comfortable, but they werent terrible. The walls are pretty thin, so you hear a lot of stuff going on out in the hallways. Check in was pretty easy, especially with the online check in email you get a couple days before your stay. But, BEWARE if you book through what appears to be their website (unless you look up in the address bar and notice youve been taken to a 3rd party site) your card is at risk for getting hacked if you book online. Mine did as well as a friend of mines that was staying with us. If you can, Id suggest getting a gift card visa card and using that for your reservations. Overall, a good experience. Id stay here again.

2022-05-05Stayed with a group at the very beginning of the season. Staff was not prepared. No maps of the area were available. Check in took a long time. Vending machines were empty. Heater in our room didnt work but was taken care of very quickly. Room was very clean. Wish it had in room coffee. I would stay there again.

Call them to book.The stay itself was great! Clean rooms and polite staff.I cant give more than a 1 star though, because booking on their website is risky.

2022-06-28No free breakfast buffet on saturdays along with no room at pool like a Real World party! Which if thats what u want this is place to be!..cant bring even water into the pool so forced to pay bar prices. Smart on their end...What you pay the for rooms think would be better perks. Also told friends staying that wouldnt have problem getting golf cart ..and when arrived Friday..no golf carts😒 so had to go elsewhere to rent.

2022-05-14This review isnt about the stay which I suppose would have been nice. The review is about the staff. Unfortunately, my wife and I tested positive for Covid-19 on 05-13-2022 with our check-in being scheduled for 05-16-2022. Out of concern that our condition could get worse and out of respect for their guests and staff I called to explain the situation and to ask about a refund or to reschedule. I was a told with a course attitude by the person that answered the phone that if I cancel, I lose not just the deposit, but the entire cost of the stay. No option to reschedule. I asked did they care if I just came anyway being positive for Covid-19 the lady quickly said she doesnt care if we have Covid-19 or not. All the other reservations that we had to cancel for that week were very understanding and either canceled the reservation with no problems and or gave us a refund. All also were hopeful for a full recovery. Not them. One place on the whole island has caused me to just go elsewhere on our next vacation. The $400 we lost is nothing compared to what we would have spent at other establishments during our weeks long stay. We are not throwing good money after bad and will vacation elsewhere when we are able to. I realize that we could have probably gotten insurance to cover the trip, but we ignorantly could not have predicted the lack of class by their staff. When I asked could I speak to someone else, the lady said that she is as high up as they get. Wow! I didn’t realize I was speaking to someone who does everything from answering the phone to running the place. I called back a few minutes later to get no answer. I wish I had just been a no show instead of giving them the courtesy of double booking. The entire island lost my business. During these uncertain times, it has been my experience that most businesses are compassionate about the struggle of traveling during an unpredictable pandemic. Not this place. I wish I had gotten the lady’s name. If someone that works there is higher up than this high and mighty lady that answered the phone, I called at 10:37 am on Friday, May 13th. Very disappointed.

2022-04-10FRAUD ALERT - DO NOT STAY HEREA group of my friends were planning on staying at Put-In-Bay Resort and Conference Center for a combined bachelor-bachelorette party. A few of us booked our rooms via their website (not a third-party site) and a few days later everyone who booked a room had fraudulent charges from Walmart on their credit cards, totaling approximately $700. We all live in different cities, states, and used different credit cards. The only thing we had in common was booking this hotel. Also, looking at other reviews over the past six months, this has happened to many guests at the hotel. Feeling unsafe, we decided to cancel our bookings. Thankfully, we were in the time frame where we could recover most of our initial deposit. When we emailed the owner to cancel the booking he ignored our emails and refused to provide any receipt or confirmation that our reservation had been cancelled. Due to his attitude, lack of response, and refusal to provide any sort of confirmation, I am suspicious he is aware of the unethical activity and chooses to do nothing about it or acknowledge there is a problem.TL;DR - dont book here there is a high chance your credit card information will be stolen

2022-06-27We didn’t get to stay to say the least. We went to check in and were told that adding a 5th person is pretty much illegal due to their fire policy. Didn’t realize this resort was full of fires like that. We then asked if we could add a room and they were fully booked. Then asked if there was anything they COULD do for us and they said no. I then asked if we could at least go to our room that we already paid for to figure out where we were going to stay and they said we could, all 5 of us as I specifically asked if she could as well. As we gathered our things, another front desk worker said she couldn’t without a wrist band. We then had another worker sit down by the elevator to “keep an eye on us” so we didn’t break any of their rules that they are not in the same page with. The workers were all young girls and had no clue how to run a front desk. It was a chaotic mess with people all around. They had no answers to my questions for them except NO. We found a different hotel that could accommodate us and I asked for a refund and the girl had then told me that she couldn’t because we had “checked in” when I asked if we could go up to the room when she said we could. We left infuriated. We got settled into another hotel and I then received a call from Maritza, not even the manager on duty, 2 hours later saying that they could accommodate our 5th person for an extra $100. Which I later found out is against their policy by the front desk manager. She said they did that while she was off duty behind her back. So what would have happened if the manager had found out? Would we have gotten kicked out later that night or Saturday? The workers don’t even follow the rules. This place is a joke and I would never recommend it to anyone staying on this island. Also, to the young, blonde worker with the lip injections that wouldn’t stop staring at us but offered no help or suggestions, I hope when you stay at hotels they count you as 2 guests with those things.

2022-07-04I want to first start off by thanking Lisa and Jennifer, along with the entire staff for the excellent service during our three days at the Put-in-Bay Villas!The Put-in-Bay Villas are gigantic and three floors of beautiful!The Blue Marlin swimming pool, swim up bar and hot tub area is both electric and family oriented during the day and at night. Music playing and the island life feel at its very BEST! The Pina Coladas are ICE COLD at the swim up bar! Plus at night, they have a gigantic hot tub thats crystal clean and can fit a ton of people!We loved it so much weve booked seven days in September for our 15th wedding anniversary.I highly recommend the Put-in-Bay Resort and Villas and I give them a full FIVE STARS... Its like a touch of Key West in Northeast!They can even book a golf cart for you for your stay!ENJOY!
