Easy and peaceful nature trail with a one mile nature trail and a half mile ledges trail, both of which take a gently sloping walk through a nice forest. Its especially nice to walk through during the fall when all the leaves have changed. An easy walk for any experience level hiker. There is a pit style outhouse at the parking area, but no picnic tables for a meal.
I cant believe I never know about this park. Scenic trail that is unfortunately a little ill-maintained. The highlight of the park are the ledges, yet they have it all junked up with fallen trees and debris. The trails are also swampy and I agree with the other reviewer, LOTS OF BUGS. wear spray!
Love this little hidden gem! Awesome place to go hiking. Just be prepared for alot of ups and downs and to get muddy. I do not recommend this trail for strollers. I have seen people try it and it never goes well. It is not paved at all. It is very much a nature trail. Very quiet and peaceful. Awesome scenery. Great location. Does have outhouse style restrooms as well.
Princess Ledges is a rather primitive nature park. The main attraction is the sandstone ledges and the profusion of deciduous trees. The trails are clear, but unpaved, and you will encounter many roots in the trail. Due to the West facing hillside, the lower part of the trail tends to be wet, and may be impractical during rainy conditions. It is definitely a nature park. There are few signs and no permanent buildings. Bathrooms are vault type, adequate, but lacking amenities. The peace inside the park is worth the visit, with autumn colors generally outstanding.

2021-11-26Small but mighty! The total trail length was under two miles as I recall but it’s one of the favorite parks my wife and I have been to.There are basically two areas to the woods. Closer to the parking lot there are older trees, mostly tulip poplars and sugar maples with some red oaks. We went in late Fall and these trees made the woods very yellow. Beautiful. Farther from the parking lot the woods get scrubbier and younger with the sugar maples replaced by red maples and some pine added in.The park had the biggest Osage Orange tree I’ve ever seen, around 50 feet tall. Fruit all over the ground. Truly an awesome tree.We saw a ten point buck very close to us on the trail. The “ledges” are small areas. Nice but nothing too special. If you want to be impressed with rocks you’ll probably be disappointed.Housing, etc all around the park though I don’t recall a lot of road noise.

2021-10-11Nice place to hike you can get in about one and a half miles at this location with a lap around. The rock ledges are particularly nice when youve got a little recent moisture to give you a little flow of water underneath them. This is a very rooted path. A lot of exposed roots along about half of the pathway so step carefully. Plenty of deer in the area walking through this also.

2022-06-23I enjoyed the peacefulness and nature, but I have no idea if I saw all the ledges. The trails were pretty confusing since I expected 2 marked trails and only saw 1 red trail. Also, the threat of coyotes without any real idea of signs of one or when they were likely to be around made me pretty nervous, especially having a young child with meIt was very pleasant and shaded even on a hot day

2021-07-03This place is beautiful! Its a small nature preserve with a few ledges and some primitive trails but its out of the way and off the beaten path of most well known reservations which makes it an even more desirable place to hike in my opinion.

2020-09-12This trail was a blast to walk. It is not stroller friendly so be sure to keep that in mind. There were tons of fun roots to walk over and little bridge areas for when there is heavy rain. We found at least 5 different types of fungus. At the end of the scenic trail there is one of the coolest ledges ever! Loads of cool angles, moss, dripping water. We will definitely be walking this again soon.

2019-10-16A very beautiful and relatively unknown park, we did a nature hike and found some very cool stuff along the way! Only complaints would be BE AWARE of all the broken glass, it was all around the beautiful sandstone ledges making this gorgeous area a hazard for everyone. Also the trails were not marked very well making it difficult to navigate them.

2022-06-05Peaceful walk through the woods. Rock formations are on fairly steep trails that could be exhausting for one unaccustomed to climbing. Be sure to follow signs to avoid exertion.
