This is a non profit organization that goes to child cancer. The field itself is free to roam. There is a stand thats sells apparel and accessories that goes to the Prayers From Maria Child Cancer Foundation. I love this sunflower field. I love the fact that you can write prayer dedication and post them on the sunflowers. Nice place to come and take pictures and give respect to those that werent as fortunate!! ♥️
Unfortunately our timing or information was not correct. We visited the fields in Avon today but could not see any plants at all. I was sure we could see the plants growing and maybe some in bloom. However there were empty fields except the signs, asmall shed and the small wooden bridge. Maybe another year. Please update for travelers.
Too bad I was driving too fast and running late to stop and get a closer look of this field of beautiful sun flowers growing. Great cause and inspiring for me to a field of sun flowers. This was interesting and unique instead of seeing corn growing all the time, everywhere I drive around
First off - just go. Its donations based (unless shooting paid photography clients, and even then the photographer pass is also technically a donation and thus tax deductible) and supports research and awareness for a fantastic cause: stopping childhood cancer. Its a beautiful labrynth of sunflowers in a massive open field. Make a couple trips, take some photos at sunrise, afternoon, and sunset, and enjoy the calm.A bit less than 5/5 for a few reasons:- parking gets very full very fast at peak hours (aka the best photo times)- no bathrooms on-site (can be difficult if you are the photographer and have multiple clients coming in one day)- shade is very limited, as is seating- flowers are only in bloom for a short varying amount of time (the field owners cant quite help this though...)
Great place to visit during Summer times or around fall. The Sunflower field is big and not all sunflowers are same (quite natural/obvious). You have to explore a bit to find spots where Sunflowers provide beautiful backdrops or props for your photos! There are alos family events organized and professional photograph services available. So go-on, explore, and enjoy!!
If you have flour allergies this probably isnt the place for you, unless you take a ton of antihistamines Allegra or whatever it is that keeps you from sneezing your head off Over Flowers. Now that being said this is a stunningly beautiful place to stop and take the family for photos. We had a wonderful time Meandering The Groves of giant sunflowers. Bathrooms are Porta-Johns just a fair warning. Working is a dirt lot so be careful if you drive a low-slung sports car. Overall cant wait to go back.
I am absolutely appalled that people are giving this organization a bad review because they werent impressed with the sunflowers. Let me give all of you a little background. This is a non-profit organization raising money for the Children’s Glioma Cancer Foundation. This all started due to the unfortunate circumstances of a beautiful little girl named Maria who had DIPG and sadly passed away.Blame Avon for the smaller field. They used to have a giant field of beautiful sunflowers and Avon let large companies purchase these lots to build stores on. They are currently trying to find somewhere to relocate to continue the sunflower field.Sunflowers only bloom beautifully during a certain time of year. If you go towards the end of the season, yes, they will be wilted.THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE SUNFLOWERS!!! Yes the flowers are beautiful and make for a wonderful photo opportunity...THIS IS ABOUT RAISING AWARENESS AND MONEY FOR RESEARCH TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCERS!!!How horrendous of a person do you have to be to actually give this wonderful organization a 1 star review, disgusting people.
A most place visit during the spring and summer. It is a charitable organization that has been doing this for several years and a pretty place to take pictures with the family. It is depressing to see the kids whobhave passed regarding cancer but thats what planting the seed is all about. they routinely have activities for families to see and visit like fireworks on 4th of July and pictures with heros. Go there and pick up a schedule of the activities and enjoy the field of su flowers and perhaps make a donation.

2020-09-06Such a noble concept! The first few steps into the farm....my heart was aching. All those little kids. May their soul rest in peace. Then I realized that their souls are resting in peace. I could feel them. It was like walking in heaven! Here you can see the memory of kids placed in the field who lost their lives to cancer and you can write and tie your own note to the plants in the first section of the farm.I am saying a prayer for all the people out there who are fighting cancer and I really wish this cancer disease will vanish from earth for good. There are a lot of sections on this field with slightly different varieties of sunflowers. Youll feel like a seeing a thousand suns! Its a good place to visit with your family as well! Field is maintained well and its safe too.If you get a chance, you should visit this farm and contribute something to the cause. This farm is located right near the i90 at Avon just 20mi west of Cleveland. Theres enough parking space as well. There were 100s of people there when we visited yesterday, but you can keep enough safe distance with other people.

2020-10-22Must see if in Northeast Ohio! Make sure you go earlier than Fall (when these pictures were taken). You want to catch them at full bloom. There are still a few beautiful ones around in the fall but amazing concept and gorgeous sight to take in. What a great purpose. Pro Tip: go near sunset for an amazing photo op or selfie.

2018-09-03Such a beautiful tribute to the little spirits who have lost their lives to cancer. Its calming to walk through and see so many written notes of love and prayers to ones who have lost their life or are still battling or even have beaten cancer. I pray they are able to raise the funds they need to continue with a field like this. It would be neat to be able to buy the seeds of the flowers to grow at our own houses. Go support this wonderful foundation.

2020-09-27A great experience for a worth while cause. Be sure to donate at PrayersforMaria.org and read the full story there. Plenty of parking. Plenty of sunflowers. A great time for kiddos to have a jaunt thru the sunflowers. Be sure to wear long pants to prevent the prickers from getting you if you want to go of the beaten path.

2020-09-13It was too good. The only thing is you will become sad once you look at the young people who died so early. Sunflowers are awesome. It also has a small gift show and a food truck. You should purchase something from there as it will go to the donation for cancer patients.
