The only reason I go to this place is the convenience of the buffet bar.I really dont care for very much thats offerd.They should really look into the foods and methods the Golden Coral uses because thats where I prefer to go but dont have one in my local area!

Liked the gloves they had you serve yourself. Everything was hot, fresh and well filled. Salad bar was full and the waitress kept our table of 4 drinks filled.

I went there today with my husband and grandson, we got the buffet and I only got the salad off the buffet, I asked for a box to take my salad home because I didnt eat it all she told me she has to weigh it first before I can take it,wth I already paid to much.wont be back why do I have to pay twice
It was okay, I dont think it was worth the money. Have heard great things though, so maybe they were having an off day? Every type of chicken offered was super dry and difficult to eat. The meatloaf tasted like they put a pound of sugar in it. But everything was well stocked and all workers were super friendly and helpful!
1st time here at this location, traveling through & was excited to see a childhood favorite that has been disappearing from the 70s, Ponderosa! Despite the labor crisis, this restaurant had a great staff that worked as a team and attended to the guests very well while keeping the buffet more than adequately fresh. The pulled pork was awesome! Great steak specials on inside menu board too! Left as happy as my memories walking in, thank you!

Dont encounter to many anymore of these places, was clean and good. I do find $12.50 a bit high for a lunch buffet but Im sure people have justified that cost. Server was friendly and food was fresh.

My chopped steak was cooked just the way I ordered it. The baked potato was hot and fresh. Sweet tea was very good. I have to give that visit 4 stars. Everything I had was just right.
Literally had to flag a waiter down for a single refill. Best food of the evening was our salad and cheesecake, rest of the food on the buffet was absolutely horrible. Last time we went pre-covid the food was amazing, this time was absolutely disgusting. We were there around 7ish pm on 11/21/2021.

Food was ok, I enjoyed the chicken livers. You have to sanitize and put on new gloves for every trip up which is fine my issue is with the pile of gloves we had in the middle of the table. Having to use them is no big deal but there needs to be a system for this, maybe a trash can at the end of the table so we can dispose of them? Staff was friendly and attentive, other than the glove removal.

I called to talk to the manager, they said it was Nancy. I told her wed be there at three, Saturday, maybe twenty to thirty people, could she accomadate us. No problem. We get there yesterday, big problem, manager comes out, not Nancy, I had never talked too. Embarrassed me in front of all waiting to pay. I told him I had never talked to him. He basically called me a liar. Didnt ask for a discount all we wanted was a seat. Rudest person ever. Benny he wasnt neither Nancy. Doesnt need to be in food service. Hope you were just having a bad day

It was a busy Sunday. We were able to get a table right away. The service was great. The food was good, everything was fresh and I loved the dinner rolls. There was a nice variety of desserts to choose from.
It was very good. He hadnt eaten at Ponderosa for 1 1/2 years. It was little bit of a drive, but well worth it. We will go back.

I love the cheesecake. Ok its all good, but that cheesecake. Its french style cheesecake and thats hard to get in Ohio. We visit their restaurant a couple of times a month and have since Ponderosa bought out Bonanza years ago.

The place clean and the staff was very personable. The only complaint was that the steaks werent cooked as ordered. Other than that, it was excellent. Next time Im in that part of the country, Ill give them another shot at it.

Ponderosa is one of my most favorite family dine in places I love all their food but really love their steaks and baked potatoes and oh lets not forget one of the best tasting rolls that just sets the steak off oh how I love your rolls please never change it up they are delicious 😋
Not as good as it was before covid. The food from buffet was tasteless. Our steaks however were cooked perfectly. They were very tender and juicy. Our baked potatoes tasted as if they had been sitting out all night and warmed over in microwave. And on top of that, the price has went up!! A lot of money wasted there. I dont believe we will be going back.

Poor service, food was either under cooked or it over cooked. I dont think any seasonings were used for taste, the food that was cooked correctly was bland. Ive never wasted so much food. I definitely didnt eat the 12.25 I paid for the buffett and drink, which was never refilled. I have eaten at Ponderosa before I have never had this experience. It may just be this one, but I definitely will never recommend them to anyone. I should have went to McDonalds and then I would have spent less and had good tasting food.

The staff was very nice, manger was professional. But. There had to be a but.Oh, how far Ponderosa has fallen. It makes me sad, the food on the buffet and off the grill. Just sad.This is by far the worst one I have been to this year. It needs remodelled, the food suppliers and presentation need changed. Staff great! Food was horrible.It just makes me sad.

I took my Daughter to eat there this afternoon. I told her the food and service was good. Was I wrong. The food was not fit to eat. The cook was playing bar type music on the phone which he had laying on the food counter. The same phone that he texts on when sitting on the toilet. To beat that he was trying to sing while different music was coming from the restaurant system. I would be ashamed of a restaurant of this quality if I was the manager. I will surely spread the word of this pitiful experience. Reminded me of a cheap pickup type bar
When I saw the sign from the highway I knew we had to see if they were still open. All of the ponderosa around home are closed and gone. This one was open, clean, friendly people and good food. Highly recommend stopping by.
Very covid safe clean and friendly buffet wasnt the largest but im guessing with covid limits is why but the food was really good will defantly be back again the 7 month old grand son was a very happy customer
The food was ok the waitress was nice and attentive but the the fat blonde at the register that takes the money was very rude and insulting to me I asked to see the manager and she claimed he wasnt there,I will not eat there again.

I cant believe how bad the buffet food was. The meatballs were so salty they couldnt be eaten. Both my wife and l got sick later that evening. The common food we had were the chicken and meatballs. It used to be good. Now..there was absolutely nothing that tasted good. Even the dessert was bad. Sorry.. just calling it as l see it

Its a great place to go with the kiddos. Theres something for everyone to eat! They are serving your food, cafeteria style, due to corona and I think they do very well.

Total turn around food was good, it was well maintained all servers were working well together the store manager was floating but because his crew was good he was just floating. Could have some dessert with sugar free. Cold in there . Bathrooms could be a little cleaner, wait staff could be more on top of things our dirty plates sat on the table for a very long time until I had to ask someone to remove them. Did not once offer us refills on our drinks. Sad ! Probably wont be back.
My husband & I visited this restaurant location for the very first time this evening. We both had the buffet and sirloin tips. The service staff was very friendly & prompt on refills however the food wasnt the greatest. Most things from the buffet tasted very stale like it had been there all day and the steak tips had a lot of gristle. Overall we were quite disappointed to waste almost $50 on meals that were not satisfactory.
Im pretty disappointed. They have really gone down hill. The steak was a dried up piece of shoe leather and there wasnt many options to choose from on the food bar. Considering you have to pay a premium price they should have better food.

Terrible! Best thing was the meatballs and mashed potatoes. I ordered a 10 ounce steak and it was horrible, it seemed like it was not seasoned at all! Service was good tho.
Clean place to eat good waitresses
Food on the buffet was mediocre. Building was not maintained or cleaned very well. Floors were greasy, booths had taped seats, plates were very old and worn. Ordered Ribeye add-on for additional fee. Had to send back twice. Wife had super rare steak mine was well done - both of us ordered medium rare. Steak was only 1/4 inch thick, lacked any flavor and was full of gristle.

We had the worst meal that we have ever had from one of ur restaurant. We visit their a couple or more a month. Its surly pretty good. For some reason this evening around 5 or 6 this evening. The ribs was tuff the liver was dry the pork chops was chewy. Im sorry Im not a person to say anything, but it truly wasnt a pleasant dinner at all
Excellent food for a buffet and good value. The staff is very friendly. You dont have to worry about chasing someone down for a refill, they will take good care of you. Ive taken my grandfather out to eat there a couple times now and have not been disappointed. You can add an 8 ounce ribeye steak and baked potato to the buffet for only $5. Veterans get a 10% discount, which was nice. If you dont want steak, youll find plenty other options on the buffet for under $13. The pulled pork is excellent and you can make tacos with all of the fixins or even give the picky kids some pizza. Theres something for everyone. They also have a very good selection of dessert items. The bread pudding is worth a try and the pecan pie is awesome. For around $40, including a generous tip, two people can eat very well. You wont be sorry for choosing Ponderosa for dinner.
This location was really good. Bar was stocked really good. Our waitress was really good and nice. Next time we go to New Boston we will have to stop and eat here first before I get too hot to enjoy the meal.
We were visiting my parents from out of town. They take very good care of my Dad and Step Mom there. My husband had never eaten at a Ponderosa and was impressed with the steak, I was thrilled to find liver on the salad bar, its my favorite by far!!!
Its an old-style buffet just like it used to be back in the day. The decor is dated but the food is good. They do fix steak and to have it added to your salad bar meal is reasonable.

Food was ok hot food was lukewarm, cold food was cold, the salad bar wasnt maintained there were several empty containers, the service was horrendous. The server a young man never came back to refill our drinks, to check and see how things were, basically he walked around picking up tips and talking to other servers.

Bad, bad, bad. Never eat here. The restaurant smelled so dirty just walking in. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and tried a lot of different foods. Nothing was edible not even dessert. I dont know how you mess up desert but they did it.
The salad was old and stale, the meat was chewy and dry. The mashed potatoes were dry. The desserts were stale. Music was being played on the intercom, however we could not hear that. The cook had his cell phone playing through a large bluetooth speaker, drowning out the intercom, as well as our dinner conversation. The server couldnt hear us without shouting so she smiled and walked away instead of finding out what we had asked for (straws). And, although the cook was wearing rubber gloves while he cooked, he would handle his cell phone with them and then touch the food he was preparing. He was also singing very loudly and poorly along with his personal playlist that played loudly on his personal speaker. My Father and I could not wait to leave. I had not eaten at this particular Ponderosa in 30 years, I regret choosing to try it again.
Food was subpar salad bar had very little on it unfortunately the Ponderosa chain has suffered greatly in the last few years wouldnt recommend it for the price steaks were terribly overpriced for the quality. Golden Corral is much better chain Steakhouse

As soon as we walked into the left to be seated you smelled something similar to a hampster car that’s never been cleaned.....disgusting also I ordered a 6oz steak it was mostly fat and when it was set in front of me I immediately smelled a hint of spoiled meat took one bite and it even tasted spoiled never again will I eat here for the price for 2 people on buffet and one steak i could still go to Texas Roadhouse and get way better food even get better food at Golden Corral in Ashland for the same price only reason I’m giving one star is because I have to give it a star

If you enjoy a buffet with unlimited food that is warm at best, then this is the place for you. Personally I prefer my food cooked fresh and hot as opposed to unlimited and warm.

Wheelersburg Ohio Ponderosa’s what a great place to eat. Can’t beat the price for a buffet all you can eat.. darn good food.. Mary a long time waitress there will take care of you especially if you have any questions about the wonderful food bar all you can eat along with desert.

2022-06-15This was my first time eating at our local Ponderosa and the experience was dismal at best. Our party of 5 all experienced the same thing...feeling like a rock was sitting in our stomachs after eating followed by sickness. I did speak with the manager and he was very polite. But something was bad. My wife had already vomited twice before leaving after our hour long dinner. Staff was friendly but something is wrong. Beware of food poisoning. Btw, even though the staff was friendly, they didnt offer any coupons or discounts after eating the bad food. I didnt request any but the offer would have been appreciated.Update: there is now 3 of us that have experienced diarrhea and 2 have vomited and thats the only place any of us ate today.

2022-03-27This is one of the few Ponderosas left. We happened to literally stumble across it while traveling and decided to give it as try, and are we glad we did! As you enter, the parking is well done so that there are no really bad parking spots, which is a plus. The staff are very friendly from the first moment you walk in. Seating is ample, the selections are done nicely, the salad bar is great, desserts very tasty, and food made to order. We had sirloin (10 oz for me, 8 oz for Lisa), and it tasted like twice the size. The food filled us both up really fast, and was every but as good as ponderosa was when we were kids, and that is a compliment, believe me! The staff were very friendly, coming at just the right time and.... Well, its not often we say this, but this was just perfect as both a dinner and a trip down memory lane.

2022-04-241st time Ive ate there in over 30 years. I was really impressed with how good the buffet was. And the service considering we hosted a motorcycle and car show there with over 50 vehicles. Ill definitely be back!!!!!

2022-05-29We havent been to a Poderosa in years and we werent disappointed. We always enjoyed eating there. Good food. Very nice people . Will return when we are in the area again.

2019-10-07Pros:Friendly staff; waitress was attentive to our needs.Decent food; casual/comfort food.No bugs or too unsanitary.Cons:Run down building; inside & out needs a face lift.Booth seating had tape on the seats from extreme usage & age.A little expensive for the quality of building & food that is offered.A/C was only working at 50% capacity; VERY warm/uncomfortable & staff had sweat towels around their necks. The box fans blowing at the tables was unattractive.

2022-03-04These establishments were plentiful growing up, however, times have changed, their far and in between now. Not much of a selection on the buffet, at least compared to my childhood, however, may or may not return at some point in the future. Thats if they can hold on through the changing of time.
