Steve and his staff are incredible. They know exactly what the dogs need to play and behave. We’ve been going here for over two years. If your looking for a great place to take your dog Playful Pets is a fantastic business.Side note Steve’s prices are quite competitive amongst the downtown options. Nail trims and baths are all done by pickup with great care shown for my dog.I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.
Ive been taking my dog, Dexter, to Playful Pets of Columbus for about 3 months now, and we absolutely love it! My dog cries of excitement when we enter the parking lot (if thats any indication of how much he enjoys doggy daycare). Steve and his staff are very friendly and provide great care for my dog while Im at work. His staff always says, have a great day every time I drop him off, which always puts a smile on my face. You just leave there knowing your pet is in good hands and will have a fun-filled day!
We moved to Ohio from the south a few months ago and had to choose a daycare place solely based on online research since we were new to the area. Playful pets is my dog Wally’s second home now. Good price and he comes home ready to sleep for hours. Kind service. They already know him and have taken my request to track how much he eats when he gets boarded.
Steve and his crew are some of the most friendly dog lovers my wife and I have met. They give such peace of mind when leaving our little pup for daycare or boarding. Our dog was a little sick once and Steve went out of his way to make sure we were informed as well as took amazing care of our dog while we were out of town. His character really shines through with his business, and I trust him with our dog unconditionally. Not to mention our dog loves playing all day with his friends in this spacious area. He comes back so exhausted from a full day of fun.
Terrible customer service. Steve asked a few questions and we spoke about my pups needs. I told him I had an important event soon and was looking for a place. He got busy, took my number and never called back. Now I have less time to find a place for my pup. That was the 2nd and last time for me.
I’ve been taking my pup to Playful Pets for about 6 months now and I couldn’t be happier! The owner and employees are fantastic and they seem to really care about the dogs. The facility also boasts a large amount of outdoor space, which is unusual in a city setting. This is an all around great place that my dog and I absolutely LOVE!
We were in a tough spot when our daycare closed down. I reached out to Steve and he responded almost immediately and got us into an evaluation that week. Ever since then, my dog (also named Steve) loves going there. Steve and his staff are very friendly and accommodating, and treat all the dogs like their own. They have large play areas, one in door and outdoor, which I love. Would highly recommend.
Playful Pets is the BEST place to take your dogs for a day of fun, exercise and socialization. I have also utilized their boarding services which are phenomenal. My pups always pass out within minutes of leaving, which is great. The staff will cater to any special requests and that always puts my mind at ease when Im out of town. Two thumbs up!
This place is awesome. Not only are they wonderful to all of my dogs, large and small, but they are BEYOND wonderful to my foster dogs. They have worked with dogs who have special needs (deaf, blind, both) and dogs who need a little extra help in adjusting to non-shelter living. All staff members are friendly and they support local businesses and charities. Most importantly, all my dogs are excited to be there and like all the staff members :)
If your dog loves to play this is the best doggy day care near downtown Columbus. This unique setting is a large warehouse converted into an indoor/outdoor open play day care and boarding. The staff is super attentive to the pups and the owner is there every day. The dogs play freely throughout the day and spend very little time in kennels. Highly recommended.
We continue to have great experiences with Steve and the rest of the staff at Playful Pets! Our dog, Rosco, is so excited to go to daycare or boarding and he always receives a warm welcome from Steve when we drop him off. After daycare/boarding, he is exhausted = happy puppy parents. Steve is also communicative and responsive via email and flexible when we have last minute boarding requests. Additionally, the rates are very reasonable. Another bonus: grooming services! Its so helpful with our busy schedule. We cant thank Steve and all enough!
Steve from Playful Pets was a saving grace for me! I made boarding arrangements for my dog to stay at his facilities for a few days before Christmas, and I was to arrive back home on Christmas Eve. Our flights home ended up being extremely delayed, and despite it being the holidays (which turned into Christmas morning), Steve was so flexible for us, and prices were very reasonable! I would definitely recommend Playful Pets to anyone with a fur baby!
I take my dog here 3-5 days a week. He loves it, always excited to get out the car and to see all the staff members and dogs. He gets to play ALL day, unlike some daycare places that charge you more for extra playtime. The staff are friendly and attentive. I can drop my dog off at 7am and pick him up at 7pm if I want. Hes tired after a full day of play and Im happy because I dont have to exercise a hyper dog after a long day at work. Bonus, he gets to practice socializing with all size and shape of dog. Fantastic experience. Been going for several months now.
We absolutely love Playful Pets! Steve and his staff take awesome care of our super high energy puppy, and he comes home all tuckered out from his day of fun! He even gets nail trims and baths. We havent had to board him yet, but I would have zero reservations leaving him with the Playful Pets staff.
Super convenient location to drop my girl off on my way to work in the morning. Everyone there is very friendly and loves dogs! Lots of dogs of all shapes and sizes to run and play with and shes always tired and happy when I pick her up! Shes also stayed for boarding a couple times and Im confident shes well cared for while Im away.
Playful pets is terrific. I never used a daycare or a a boarder for my 7 year old lab mix before. Steve, the owner, was wonderful and responsive in answering all of my questions and they really made me feel at ease. There is someone always watching all of the dogs to ensure safety which was really important to me. I recommend them to everyone I know for both doggie daycare and boarding. Their hours also make it really easy for drop offs and pick ups.
I loved playful pets, but more importantly, my pup loved them too! He was exhausted after the first visit and when we came back to do an over night he couldn’t help but run straight up to the door to see his friends. The staff was great and seemed to get to know him and his temperament right away. The price was very fair and we will be back!
My dalmatian Lou loves staying at Playful Pets. He is always in good spirits when I pick him up and takes a big nap when we get home.
Took our golden retriever for a grooming. She’s nearly 14 but still pretty active...Steve did a wonderful job grooming and trimming and making sure she was absolutely beautiful! Super nice people and wonderful service! Thank you so much!!!
A great service that helped my pet become more of a socialized animal. A lot of problems we had with our dog were noticeably changed after his very first visit. I would recommend Playful Pets to anyone that might have a lonely dog while you are at work. We have a dog that would drag my wife to get near another dog, she was afraid he wanted to be aggressive but he just wanted to be near other dogs. Now he is part of a pack or as we say going to school to hang with his friends. They truly care about your dog and well being.
We absolutely love Playful Pets. We have a pair of pups that we like to call the girls. Well, the girls can be quite a handful sometimes and even though they have each other at home, they need to be social and join the pack once in a while. The girls come back from their daycare days completely zonked out- its the best for us puppy parents.Steve and the staff are wonderful and we are just so happy to watch this amazing business grow.
Playful pets is fantastic! My dog drags me in, he is so excited to be there. When I pick him up he is exhausted from his day of play! The people are one phenomenal and the dogs love them.
Playful Pets rocks. Perfect location...downtown but lots of indoor and outdoor space. Both of our girls get lots of exercise when we take them...weve been taking them for almost 2 years now. We love Steve and all of the staff. Highly recommend!
This is the only place I will let groom my Husky. I’m very particular about how my boy is handled and cared for and they always go above and beyond for Rocky. He loves getting the chance to run and play while he’s there also!! Steve and his staff are the best, bar none.
We LOVE Playful Pets! We have utilized their daycare, boarding, & grooming services, and we have had nothing but great experiences all around! Our dog Milo gets to play all day long while were at work, maybe get a bath & nail trim, & come home a tired pup. Steve & his staff really care about these dogs & I never have to worry because I know Milo is in good hands.
Our dog Harvey ALWAYS come back a happy, healthy, and super tired pup! We love the fact that he gets to interact with other dogs for his entire stay so we dont need to worry if hes bored or missing us while were gone. After all, next to our love and attention, exercise and social interaction are the best things for our precious pup!
After a day with Steve my dogs are happy and tired. You can tell how passionate Steve is about what he does and it shows. I recommend him to anyone looking for a great doggy day, and they also board and groom.
We started our older boy at a daycare north of downtown for some weight management. It was ok, but just very small without a controlled population. So I would get reports of aggression, but it was more due to over population. I found playful pets by accident, and liked the amount of space it offered so I gave it a try.Wow! The first day I met Steve, who is really dedicated owner. The poor guy hadnt taken a vaction since the opening. Our boy loved it! Came home happy and exhausted and ready to go back. Hes able to run and play -- and NO reports of aggression....We recently added to our family with another boy - a 1 year old AmStaff mix rescue who has a TON of energy. This is the absolute perfect spot for him. He comes back with less energy (he still gets a third wind....), which has lessoned his puppy chewing.Weve also used overnight services, because we are very comfortable with the care and attention our kids receive. This place is just a blessing! Thank you, Steve and all your staff.
I was originally very nervous about taking my dog to daycare because he is missing an eye due to an accident with another dog and he is very anxious. He has been going there three times a week since August, and has been boarded there on a few occasions while I was out of town. We have not had anything but good experiences, and he comes home happy and exhausted. You can also purchase a bath for your dog, and they give really great baths!He is very calm after he has been there and it definitely helped socialize him and reduce his anxiety. He even somehow miraculously got potty trained there, Im assuming from watching the other dogs.My dog likes this place and the owner so much that we are actually considering Playful Pets location for our upcoming move. We are trying to move so that it is still on the way to work or not far out of the way!
I have two young boxers with a LOT of energy! Playful Pets is Great! The staff is friendly and attentive. My boys have a HUGE amount of room to run and play compared to other daycares. There is a large fenced outdoor place too! The boys come home exhausted and happy. Highly recommend Playful Pets!
Steve and his team are excellent! I have been taking my dogs to playful pets weekly since they opened, and they love their time there. The team pays close attention to their needs and treats them as their own.

My 10 year old westie Spanky stayed overnight for 5 days and a few times after that. When I pull up to get him, he always looks like hes having so much fun running around with the other dogs. The staff seem very nice to him as well!
Mr. Stephen and staff are very confident with my Saint Bernard, Scarlett. When I leave her in their hands, I know she will have fun and be safe! They are also able to give her baths and nail trims, and always do an excellent job. I am so happy I found Playful Pets, and so is Scarlett!
All the dog lovers at Playful Pets have helped my little dog become so much more social. When I first started taking here there she was scared of everyone. Now she just loves meeting new dog friends. Thank you Steve and Friends.
Ive had a really good experience so far with Playful Pets. They were accommodating in a short notice, answered all my questions and concerns. Even sent me an update with a photo of my dog while Im away putting me more at ease.
Steve is dog lover. As the owner he cares for the pets like their are his own. Staff is friendly and like to hang with the dogs.recommend this place for your boarding or day play events for your dog.

I can tell that the people who work here care about dogs and understand that my pup is part of my family. When I pick my dog up from daycare they always treat me with respect and like my dog was their own. I absolutely love this place.
In 2010 I adopted my first of two fur babies then the second in 2012. They are spoiled and I believe are treated well.It wasnt long after my first adoption that I needed daycare and boarding.I took him to a downtown Columbus site for his evaluation and he was accepted for daycare and boarding. I used them several times and the quality went downhill quickly. After my second adoption, I took both to them biting my tongue about what I was experiencing when I brought them home...kennel cough, fecal matter buried deeply in their coats and general malaise I didnt accept. Absolutely no concern by owner and staff when I attempted to address this over and over. I didnt have other choices.I found that their was homecare with a vet tech and it became my ultimate go to. I travel frequently and I need my fur babies to be happy and healthy. It came to the time where my needs were greater than they could provide so I had to find alternative care.PLAYFUL PETS, has become the answer to any and all concerns I have ever considered for my babies. Daycare and the in-home and in-facility boarding has just been awesome and so consistent.I met Steve Faulkner and we talked about what he offered and how he cared for his clients. I was also interested in his business venture. I became very impressed. My confidence and commitment happened after I witnessed him and his staff meeting my fur babies.He met and evaluated my two and they spent the day in daycare so both he and I could come to an agreement on yes or no for continued care. They passed the muster.Without any second thought I have enjoyed daycare and long boarding.COSTS are unbelievably low compared to other in-town options. Extremely insightful when you learn how Steve is directly present and involved with each family.SMELL...There is not an animal smell. Some might think thered be dog smell but none.CLEANLINESS...the facility is large, CLEAN! The outdoor fenced in areas are safe and secure. No doubt they are as clean as interior, no question.CARE and CONCERN of and for each family.My fur babies honestly seem to know they are headed to school when we head into Franklinton. They are so healthy, exhausted and content when they come home after school that day.They know theyll be doing field trips when they spend the night after a school day. Boarding can be in-home or in-facility.They get the same top-quality individual attention when PLAYFUL PETS becomes their home as when theyre at home with me.Ive been involved with other facilities and home care....Ive found Steve and PLAYFUL PETS their home away from home. I couldnt be more excited to see my kids so happy going in and coming out of their school.I dont trust just anyone with my family members.PLAYFUL PETS is our family.

This place was the worst went there to get estimates on my dogs and they cussed at us and told my pregnant friend she was skank the manager needs to know how to run a business I hope he doesnt do that to any of his other clients and he didnt know anything about the dogs he had they were misbehaved and the wouldnt listen to him if I were u I would take my business elsewhere

2022-06-13Wow, I can not speak highly enough about how great they are! Everyone is extremely nice and caring of all the pups. They offer daycare, boarding and grooming and I recommend them all! We have some very happy and tired chow chows!

2022-06-15Our dog Bo has gone to daycare and boarding at Playful Pets for five years and we couldnt be happier - fair prices, great staff, and even though I pick up/drop off at various times throughout the day the dogs are always happy and relaxed. Highly recommend!

2021-12-02This place is horrible, point blank! Do not take your dog here even if it’s your last and only option. Horrible communication, my dog hasn’t ate any food in 3-4 days because of it. Dog has been depressed and acting differently since being there so who knows how he is being treated. Paid to have my dogs nails clipped and never happened. Was told my first day of doggy daycare was free and paid $18 for it, therefore better be getting refunded $18. Place is disgusting. Definitely will be looking elsewhere to take my dog, it’s unacceptable!!

The owner, Steve is so dedicated, compassionate, and friendly. The passion for caring for dogs and connecting with families is genuine. We can’t thank you enough playful pets! 2021-01-19I love this place so much! They are so kind, very personable and just a quick 2 min drive for us. Turk (our dog) is very energetic and they are so patient and loving with him. We take him there on average 1x a week. A great way to burn off that extra energy. I also used their overnight services 1 time, and the process is super easy. Great (and affordable) Puppy Day Care!

2021-04-22Our puppy is 4 months old, and is VERY nervous around other dogs. After trying a different doggy daycare who wouldnt accept her because of her shyness, Steve and his staff spent a day working with her (and sending is videos), slowly helping her get used to other dogs, and by the end of the day her tail was wagging and she was part of the pack! We will definitely be back many more times, thank you Steve!!

2020-03-12This should be your go-to place to board your dogs and for the best day-care offered in Columbus. Their prices can not be beat, and they provide the safest place for your doggos to play! Steve, the owner is THE BEST to work with, he is a genuinely kind person. He always lets us know exactly how my dogs were and what they did throughout the day, not to mention, he will also give your pup a bath when the occasional messy situation happens. I have two dogs, both under 5 years old. They LOVE Playful Pets. I am always a worried dog momma, and I always feel at ease when they are under the care of Playful Pets.

2020-01-21Steve and Co. do a great job caring for your dogs while youre at work, on vacation or otherwise busy. Their doggie day care is one of the top facilities in the city due to size and indoor/outdoor space. Plus they offer great grooming and boarding at a affordable price that wont leave you sticker shocked.They are always quick to notify you of any behavior issues and show respect to all dogs and owners that walk through their door.Its no wonder my own dog cant get enough of playful pets.Thanks for the great service!

2020-10-12My dog loves it here!! The staff are incredible with the dogs AND the guests! The experience is very personalized. They you & which dog is yours. You get an update on how your dog did and they really care about the wellbeing of the animals. Highly recommend based on the staff and to keep your pup well socialized and exercised! :)
