I went for dinner with my daughter, I ordered two chicken sharwamas and a large fry. When asked about my toppings, I said hummus on one and not on the other. And she said I only ordered one. Then I noticed she had earbuds in!! I wasnt going to wait more time after my long day at 2 jobs. At least my daughter got her dinner. I went home with no dinner.
Some of the best Middle Eastern food anywhere around. Nothing on the menu is bad and youll be tempted by the largest baklava triangles Ive ever seen. If you order a gyro when the family owners arent there you may need to tell the staff you want it INSIDE the pita, not on it. Other than that, youre good to go.
I got the chance to shoot the photos for their Grub Hub Menu. The owners are very fast , efficient and friendly and their food has a very delightful taste . Also they have a large variety of flavor in their foods and really care about their product and your experience . I got the Kafta and it was delicious !
BEST Mediterranean around. Every time my extended family comes into town we must make a stop for a meal there. Great, friendly, fast service. The family owned business really makes you feel like family when you walk through the door. You cannot go wrong with any meal you order from there, fresh and full of flavor. If you’re in the area you gotta stop and try this place!!
I traveled to Ohio for a business trip last week and I had to leave these guys a review. I was craving some Mediterranean food and decided I’d gives this spot a try. I ordered the hummus, falafel pieces, and a chicken shawarma sandwich. Soon as I walked in I realized the place was very clean and well kept. You could tell the owner and management take a lot of pride in keeping up with the place. The staff was super friendly and professional. They really know their stuff if you need a recommendation. The food was delicious. If I’m ever back in Ohio I will definitely be visiting them again!
Very nice place. You get the feeling that the quality of the ingredients is premium consideration here. The lamb shawarma was as good or better than what I commonly found in the Middle East. So rich, I had a pleasant aftertaste for much of the afternoon. Ill def be back.
I couldn’t be more grateful for the customer service. I am a vegetarian and for the life of me, I couldn’t find a quality meal that included non-animal protein. I walked into Pita House Bexley and I was enthralled with both the veggie friendly options, as well as the customer service. Thank you!
This was pretty good. I got lamb shawarma and it came with fries and a drink for about $10. The staff was friendly. There were no other customers when we got there and only one other person came in while we were eating. The portions were smaller than expected, but I liked my food. My friend said his food wasnt that great. The restaurant itself looks old, or that the chairs and tables are an old style. But, overall, it was a good experience.
EXCELLENT! Great meat! Has an excellent smokey flavor that gives it an extra kick over other Gyro shops. We rarely get to Columbus, so finding this gem was a very pleasant surprise. I would have given it 5 stars but they were out of cheesecake. :-) Everything else we ordered was very good.
Ordered food from Pita House last night and it wasn’t edible. The lamb was so old and hard it was breaking apart and it was terribly burnt. I ended up throwing the whole meal in the trash. My family all got food poisoning from here two years ago but decided to give it another shot based on reviews. Won’t be back.
This was the best gyro Ive ever eaten. Seriously. That good. I wanted to go back the next day and order another one. The baklava was fantastic, too. 11/10 will go back. If they had fresh cut fries theyd basically be perfect, but the ones they have are seasoned and pretty good too. Its also refreshing to eat in a place that serves gyros but does not have a giant mural of the acropolis, flanked by faux columns.
1st me and lady working evenings walked in at the same time. She walked behind counter laid down her purse and coat walked straight to the cash register, took my order, took my money and walked directly to the food and started cooking. This lady did not wash her hands nor use gloves. 2nd when I ate the food it tasted terrible, the chicken gyro tasted like the chicken had been sitting there for hours. Ill never return yuck...
I went here expecting Pita Pit. It is NOT Pita Pit. It is fantastic! The food tasted authentic and the tzatziki sauce is great. I got the chicken gyro and my wife got the falafel gyro. Both amazing and the pita bread was amazing. My wife particularly like the cucumber/tomato topping and the hummus. This was my first time here and the staff was very helpful and educated. Will definitely be back and often!
Oh my goodness! I loved it. The restaurant was clean, the staff was VERY friendly & the food was DELICIOUS! I came in for Falafel..I got a pita. My daughter got fries. The Falafel was SO GOOD I went back for more! I thought an order was maybe 4 pieces, I swear I got 10! Anyways, they are definitely worth my trip from Obetz. Oh and the baklava was delicious as well. I will definitely be back!
Really love this place. Good all around but on occasion you get someone who makes the sandwich really sloppy or overcooks the chicken and it just isnt good = Not ideal for the $8 price. Falafel are spot on, takes me back to Palestine. Pickles are awesome!!!!!! Id give it 5 stars if it wasnt for the occasional sloppiness that leads to a lackluster sandwich.
EXTREMELY disappointed in their customer service.I was there this afternoon. The food is great and normally the service is no problem but today was different.I ordered a few items, one of which was a small hummus. The cashier gave me the total and took my money. After a few minutes, I see my food is almost ready, and I see her preparing my hummus.Sir, she says, I didnt charge you for the hummus. She proceeds to show me a receipt with my items, and the hummus is listed at $0.00Okay. I said. She says, Do you still want it? Its five dollars.WHAT?! Im not looking for a free handout, but this was HER mistake. She rang it up at zero, she got it ready, and then she wants to know if I still want it for $5? Uhh, I ordered it, so clearly I wanted it at one point, but not now. I will not be paying $5 for your mistake. I walked out disappointed and without the hummus (which is delicious and is listed on their menu at $2.99).At best, this was horrible customer service, at worst its an employee trying to skim money. Im sad to say that I will not be going back.
Coming from the Seattle area where good food is everywhere, I and a companion were thrilled to find this delightful little spot.I dont usually rate places this high, but in its category, inexpensive, relatively quick, and very decent spots, Pita House is a neighborhood gem that we will both continue to frequent.Along with the usual gyros and shawarmas, several very good salads, including eggplant and zucchini, plus stuffed grape leaves (dolmeh or dolmathes) are also on the menu. The dolmeh were some of the best restaurant ones Ive ever had as the rice was just right: not overcooked (as is mostly the case) or undercooked and the seasoning, for the most part, was pretty good.We tried a walnut and a pistachio baklava. Both were quite tasty and not so sweet that ones teeth hurt. They were also not unreasonably priced, especially the walnut, which looked the size of at least three pieces anywhere else Ive had them. The service was relatively fast and friendly. We observed staff patiently explaining the different offerings to other customers.
These people are always so nice to us when we get take out there. Its not the type of place you go on a date, unless your date is getting take out and eating it at home and watching bad 80s movies. :-) The food is very good and not overly priced, the beef samosas and the chicken schawarma are my personal faves.
As middle eastern food standers the food quality is low. But the prices r high. They dont make the food items originally how they should be made that is why taste is not original. Raw onion taste is very strong in the sandwichs. Low quality uncle bins rice not orginal Basmati long grain tasty rice. Pita house is copy of Subway.
Looked at menu online and did a phone order for chicken schwarma plate which costs $7.99. When I picked it up the actual cost of the plate was $12.99!! Food was ok, but I was so annoyed by the price difference I felt like I had been ripped off and couldnt enjoy it. Change your online prices!
Kafta Kabob = OMGI recently learned about Pita House from a friend and decided to give their Chicken Shawarma a shot. It is delicious and I get it with everything on it, even though I dont care for onions, because everything works so good together - BUT - today... I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried the Kafta Kabob (which I will google to find out what it actually is) and OMG is it delicious! I got it spicy with everything on it and wrote this review the second I finished my sandwich!!! Im so glad they recommended I try the Kafta and I recommend you try it too!
12/2/15 -The best Mediterranean food in columbus!one of my favorite foods to prepare is Mediterranean and Im really picky about how it is prepared. This is hands down one of the best places Ive been that has authentic prepared and served Mediterranean food and the falafel is to die for!...you can tell they are true to thier craft. I cant help but finish the whole plate everytime.
If I pay 17 $ for lunch please make sure to serve me fresh food..... the taboula was very old like 2 or 3 days old ,the rice was not fresh as well ... the kafta was seasoned very well but it wasnt cooked all the way ....the guys behind the counter need to be more friendly I mean if you having a bad day its not the customers fault... the place is clean .. Ill definitely go back and give them another chance

2022-01-28The owner is literally so nice, and everyone who works there is incredibly accommodating and helpful. Also I will never buy hummus anywhere ever again, the hummus here is insane. ALL the food here is insane. I bought a large hummus and finished it in less than a week. She even put it in my own bowl to reduce waste!

2022-05-31Did not expect the best thing Ive ever eaten to be at this random place we happened to stop by. I got the chicken shawarma and the zucchini and rice. The zucchini was one of the best things Ive ever eaten. 1000/10 cant wait to come back!

2022-05-21My family is in town and we were craving gyro salads. Truly the best I have had here in Columbus and the staff there are super nice. I eat gyro salads quite often, no other salad I have had is so well put together and they had the best dressing. I would eat there everyday if I could. Definitely my new favorite spot!

2022-07-18Havent been in years do to moving. Had a wonderful lunch. My wife and I ordered to chicken shawarma sandwiches. They were great. Loaded with veggies, hummus, sauce, and nice pickles. It was great to come back. Sandwiches run a little under nine, they are huge and heavy and worth the price. They were busy with togo orders and everything was cooked fresh, dont go if you are in a hurry. Otherwise go as quickly as possible, its definitely worth it. There are also vegetarian options.

2022-06-23WARNING; While on the phone placing my order with some girl she passed the phone to the owner to complete taking the order and the owner repeated my order then hung up the phone. SO Disrespectful. Youve earned a low rating just for that. God will deal with you. Peace and Blessings be with you.

2019-10-24Actually, it was much better than I anticipated. The food is really good and the staff is extremely personable. We stopped in just to give it a shot, and now we go pretty regularly. I definitely recommend it. Theyve been doing these feta fries that are good, too. Its a big serving, so have someone to share them with!
