Very clean, very nice store with moderately reasonable prices. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the supply shortages that the store often has. You may have to call first or check their stock online to avoid a wasted trip.
My son tried to purchase a 2year old cat, he can only have one. The staff refused to sell him the one year old cat he liked, unless he bought another cat with it. With the adoption fees being over $100 and factor in the vet bills, food, etc; its quite an expense for a young person. Older cats have a hard time getting homes, why would you make it harder for them to find homes.
A great cat selection compared to other local pet stores. A whole wall of litter boxes, dog training, cat adoptions, tons of dog clothes.
Great place to restock on crickets and frozen mice. The staff is extremely friendly and easy to work with. Some prices on food and feed is a little high but if you’re in a pinch it’s perfect.
I usually love this store but today!!! Walked in walked by an associate and said hi. He wouldnt even look at me. Then I said nice customer service greeting. Still nothing from him. Decided to take my business elsewhere.
We have been seeing Maggie in the grooming section for years for our dog Luis. He can be a hand full and need extra attention. She is beyond great with him and he always comes out looking amazing!!!
Went there to get filters for my fish tank. Its the fifth week in a row they didnt have them. Shelves look as bare as they were in November. They rarely if ever stock the proper supplies for aquariums. I think they should drop the aquarium part of their business. They dont seem interested in selling that stuff.
Nice and clean and surprisingly well stocked for this economy. Also a very nice staff.
Most of the aquarium stock and supplies were picked over. Went in specifically for fish food. It doesnt look like it has been restocked in months.
This is by far the best PetSmart around! Ive not encountered any issue here with any pets Ive bought or staff I deal with! Very smooth visits, always have what I need or want, if not in store they order it for me!
I really enjoy petsmart however today I seen a hamster I wanted and the manager Sarah came right out and said not to buy the one cages because it’s not big enough for them It causes them stress she deferred us to shop else where. I left and ended up back at the store because I was hooked on this hamster. I returned to the store and asked for some help and the same manager “Sarah” was flustered and went on to say that they had call offs I simply said I did not care and just wanted assistance she began to argue with me saying she just was telling me the situation. Of the lack of staff. I informed her again that I did not care about who called off and who came in. I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me and asked me to leave. I asked another employee on the way out what manager was on and she said her name was Sarah. I won’t be going back. I understand the lack of employees however I do not need a run down of who called off and how short staff they are very unprofessional.
Excellent customer service, but their reptiles are kept incorrectly and they all look sad and sickly. Very reasonably priced cat adoption! $60 adults, $90 juveniles, $100 kittens. They look very well cared for!
The team there goes absolutely above & beyond! They have been so kind, knowledgeable, & helpful every time Im in. I recently adopted new animals, so I have become a regular there. I am very grateful for everything they have done. Thank you so much all of you there! Shout out to Adrianna who was amazing & took the time to get me completely ready for my new furry babies, and I could tell that she really cares for the animals!
Katie M has been consistently reliable with our tripawd. We are so thankful to have found a professional who has continually showed up for our pup! She is gentle with drop off and always does a great job grooming our boy!

Always have a great supply of animal gear. Employees are friendly and always seem to be knowledgeable and offering advice. Didnt have too many fish to decide from as that was our families purpose of going in store. Maybe corona related? Typically not that way.

Grooming section is absolutely wonderful but the rest of the place is horrible. 1st time going there I was the only customer in the store, many staff members and was completely ignored and when I approached 3 that were chatting together buy the crickets and asked them for help 1 rolled her eyes, the second looked past me and the 3rd person answered yes what do I need. I said I wanted to purchase a hamster and she seemed annoyed and barked at me asking if I even know anything about them and that they wont sell me one if I dont have the correct supplies. I said that I do then she went over and asked what one I wanted. I showed her and she pulled out a box and reached in and grabbed it. They had several in the cage and when she pulled out mine there was a dead one partially chewed on by the others. I then said never mind and she just dumped the one I wanted back in. I have come back several times after for a few simple supplies and the treatment was the same even with different staff. If you want knowledgeable and friendly service skip this store and try somewhere else.
I bring my dogs here to be groomed. They always do a great job and are really sweet and patient with my pets.
Its OK for me, but my dog loves it.

I had an exchange(dog lead snapped from base) they had no problem with the return and stayed pleasant during the transaction. Prices seem a bit higher than the competition tho.
I purchased some meal worms and noticed that quite a few were no good. I called and spoke with Miranda the Assistant Manager and she had everything fixed and even listened when I told her about everything. Very good customer service! Thank you again, Miranda!
I only knew of the Mayfield location (my Moms old neighborhood) where my Mom has account. This location is very busy.So my Mom needed the family dog, Johnny Grooming: (bathed, trimmed,nails cut& buffed (so it DOESNT hurt when they jump on you,***I have small kids& we just cant have) the butt glands done, eye gunk cleaned, and they WILL trim&blow dry to how you requestI AM SO Glad I called another location, PetSmart Mentor location. They were so helpful and friendly I wasnt familiar with this location since Ive been living down in Florida. They gave me directions logged all the information in the computer and easy breezy got my Johnny in for an appointment with in the week!!!I brought Johnny in, and at 3pm and he looked Oh So Cute,Clean, and Sweet (he smelled FABULOUS!!!) And was done at 6pm!The Ladies @Petsmart and All are So Great!!!
PetSmart was holding an event for local shelters to adopt out animals. Got my cat there. 😻
I was at the mentor location my children talked me into purchasing a gerbil... now I had everything I needed to go with the gerbil houseing, food, toys, over 100 bucks worth and because they were closing in 10 mins I was told Id have to come back tomorrow that they close the pet sales 10 mins ago... so cost the establishment a $100+ sale and a customer because i surely wont be shopping that location again
PetSmart is a Pet friendly superstore. Not only do they sell Pet Food, Treats, Toys and other essentials, they provide a wide variety of Pet devices including Training, Grooming, etc. The Mentor location works with Lake Humane Society to place Dogs and Cats. They also host Pets with Santa in December.
My daughter won a goldfish at a school function. She was so excited. It came home with a small amount of food and a small bowl. We decided to go get the fish a nice new home. While there we asked a employee about different types of fish, since this was going to be our first good tank we had loads of questions. The girl seemed knowledgeable at the time. We got home and set everything up. We had purchased a waterfall bubbler for the tank. The employee had told us that it would bubble on its own. That we would need nothing for it. After filing the tank and getting everything all set up. It would not bubble. I went onto Google to investigate and found out you do in fact need an additional piece. This now makes me question everything she said. Not to mention how pricey everything was. I dont think we will be going back!
Horrible service by yellowed hair aquatic worker. Acts as if she is better than the customers, and tries to stop them from buying the fish that they can rightfully purchase. Manager also had very bad customer service and both made the simple process of purchasing fish a real hassle. Steer clear of them.

We go here every other week and we love it here. Everyone there is very helpful they dont follow you around and ask if you need help like some places do. When you need something there is always someone to find if needed. The bottom line is its a great place to take your fur babies or any animal you may have. Thanks You PetSmart for being an animal friendly place and a great place to shop.

We are doing the beginner training here with Cheryl for our 5 month old pup and it’s been awesome she is super helpful and knowledgeable. My pup is doing so well now, I couldn’t take my puppy for walks before because she would pull me down the sidewalk but now we walk everyday! Also so great that they price match! I’ve gotten some great deals from price matching to amazon and using a coupon on top of that! 4 stars instead of 5 just because the store itself doesn’t seem super clean there is always odd things on the ground which is not cool because some dog wanna eat everything.

The store was clean the associates were friendly and the selection was great. The only thing that bothered me was the facilities for the adoption cats left the animals completely isolated. There was a brother/sister pair split up, likely because the cages are too small to pair them up.
I visited the local petsmart primarily to buy some items for our cat, but also for the dog of a friend. The staff seemed disengaged and overwhelmed. You had to hunt someone down to ask a question. The dog section was well stocked with tons of stuff and dog owners will likely find what they need here. The cat section had a tiny cat bed section, with clearly inferior cat beds. The water fountain selection was lacking. Also the entire store felt overpriced. I accept this to some extent locally of its matched by good service and selection, however, I didnt feel this location offered anything like either of those.
My only issue with this store is that they pack way to much in plastic bags that are thinner than grocery store bags. They need to put way less in or double bag. Other than that no other issues.
Bought a new fish tank. Products are ok. Staff is very rude. Particularly Courtney. She has zero business working in customer service. There is never an excuse to speak the way she does to customers. Will order my pet supplies online or go to another store from now on. Shame!

Me and my fiance went in to buy some fish for our aquarium. The young lady who helped us was knowledgable and very patient with us with all the questions we had and kept a pleasant attitude with the us the whole time. Wish I caught her name so I could of given her a plug. Keep up the good work.
A few days ago I visited PetSmart. I had to buy my dogs and food oh, and what I liked about this store oh, is that everything was clearly labeled and I knew exactly where I needed to go to get the product. I like it also that certain amount of donations are made to go to pet rescue shelters and even for kids they have stuffed animals theyre $5 a piece. So a lot of these young kids and hospitals will have a Merry Christmas. So I have to honestly say PetSmart is a convenient location, plus they have great staff there, and reasonably priced merchandise.
I wasnt greeted upon entering the store or acknowledged. The cashier was busy with customers and another associate was needed for assistance. Another associate did offer me assistance to find what I needed. The store is very clean and inviting.
Good variety, grooming department is awesome. Website stinks, their pet perks is ridiculous....everytime you go in they are asking for your phone number.....super annoying. Up until recent their perks never seemed to be associated with your account. Been shopping there for years and years and spent 1000s of dollars and I have a total of 5 dollars in pet perks points. Wow PetSmart.....so generous.....and super lame.
Though they have great variety, the staff isnt always kind. They tried to smell me a fish that was smaller than the one I wanted. It was the same size. Of course take into account that you are going to a chain pet store that will tell you lies to make you spend more money.

Bought birds from pet smart im not sure what a parakeet lifespan is but after I bought one birds from PetSmart it died in a week then a little while after I went back and bought another one and that one also died in a week and we had no signs of sickness so we bought birds from a different store in those ones didnt die in a week they are still here with us but I dont think anybody should ever buy birds from PetSmart. DO NOT BUY BIRDS HERE
Pretty overpriced but you can find deals there if you try. The staff seems nice, I wont let them groom my dogs, though, because of how many dogs that have been killed by their groomers in the past.
Great selection cat food and products and dog food and products! Good prices! Best of all three major pet stores in my area. We also did puppy and dog training and were very pleased with the outcome. Everybody at the store is very helpful and friendly.
Research for yourself first before trusting a sales associate. Some employees are completely honest and knowledgable, and I love. Others, are highly misinformed sales members who aided in two tanks deaths as I started my fish journey. They do price compares from any ad except amazon and I love that. They have constant Kat adoptions that make me late because kats love to chase my car keys and who am I to deny those eyes. Fish are okay and typical but seem to be getting worse. But out of all pet chains, its not the worst. Great food sales. Has a grooming place. Watching dogs get shaved into lions is a fave of ours. Cashiers are always great. Exchanges are easy. Their rewards card is stellar. Toys are too expensive tho. Fish decor is kinda up there too. They are slowly expanding aquatic plants but are facing nuisance snail issues.
We had an appointment for our dog to get the usual shampoo,nails,and all done.person in front of us had no mask on and we were told employees are not aloud to say anything to someone withiut a mask.past senior customer never going to return again.
I Love Petsmart... this Beautiful store not only caters to us but also shows our companions the utmost respect with Love and Care... God Bless you Petsmart for showing us that our pets are not pets but companions and we will always recognize them for that and always in that manner... You have inspired us so much that the Holy Ghost manifested himself, even if it was for just a moment to let us know that our Love as staff and family members and companions shared this love...
I like PetSmart partially because theyre the only pet shop around now that Petco closed down, but the employees are pretty nice at the register. I generally just get cat food here, so I dont have much experience in the overall store. It seems nice enough!
Bought a fire hose dog chew toy for $ 20.00, says its super tough !! My 4 month old puppy had it torn up in less then 5 minutes, an empty water bottle would have lasted longer!! And for free !! Garbage product at a high cost !!!
The fish girl wouldnt sell me and my 11yr old the fish that he wanted she said are tank was to small . um lady its not going to out grow tank in a day
The lack of care and treatment towards animals at this store is disgusting. Just watched tonight a Parakeet that got free and slam into the front glass window and died. The cashier noted that it was the second time in a week and didnt seem to care. You people KNEW there was a risk of injury but were doing nothing to help the bird. Absolutely disgusting.Also, if the birds kept getting out of the cages then why did no one correct this problem?

Everytime I come here everyone is super nice and helpful. Brian today was polite, knowledgable, and even talked with me about the Cleveland Browns and how we are going to kick butt this season!! Also, The cashier, which I apologize I do not remmeber her name(I believe she mentioned the military and thanked a cop for his service) She was also so fantastic and kind.

Good choices for food and toys. Very friendly staff and easy access from Mentor Ave. Our miniature Pinscher enjoys going to Petsmart and looking at the other dogs, occasionally barking at them, but no one at the Mentor Petsmart minds.

I got on the phone and I had to call back twice because the 1st person I was talking to their 1st language is not English 2nd when I spoke to the manager how are you hang up on me? when i wasnt even done talking to you. You then you only have 1 register open theres A-line of people.
I was so disappointed with the lack of Protocols being taken for the Covid 19. We have animals that need taken care off. When we go out so many businesses are practicing social distancing. Mentor Ohio store location was not. Please avoid this store during this epidemic. Mayfield heights location is doing an impressive job keeping everyone safe. Any way needed to avoid Mentor at this time might be worth it..Stay safe out there pet owners.
I LOVE this PetSmart almost as much as Madeleine, my 12 year old Border Collie Mix! EVERYONE here is friendly and helpful and knowledgeable and treats Madeleine like a queen! Asked to use my points for my discount. Girl at the register didnt know how. She said its up to me to know if I have points to be taken and they are not allowed to ask about them. Why have a point program for money off and not be allowed to use it, stupid.
I’ve been bringing my dog to @Petsmart since he was a puppy. A few months back I took him in for a groom. I booked for specific time because I had a family event to attend and that way I’d have no issues. Will, the groom took nearly 5 hours. I was so mad when I came to get him I admit that I yelled at the girl. I felt bad immediately after and still gave her a 20% tip. I left I haven’t come back there for a groom for a while. I booked this week and booked it with Tori because she has been the primary person who has groomed him over the past 4 years. Two days after I book d the appointment, they call me to say they can’t groom my dog because he is aggressive. WHAT???? If these groomers don’t like me because I was upset they took an extremely long time grooming my dog and don’t want my business, that’s one thing. But to label my dog who has been coming there for over 4 years “aggressive” that’s another. Oh and i have a picture THEY took with my aggressive dog. (If I could post it in the review I would. He’s the groomer holding my dog when he was a puppy and then another hugging him when he was 3)

Service is usually good, as is the variety of products.This store is relatively small in comparison to other locations, and therefore, I find that they are often times out of stock on items, as they cant stock the shelves deeply.
This place treated my dog like complete trash. NEVER go to their grooming salon. They wanted to muzzle my dog when I had proof of rabies vaccinations and my dog showed no aggression towards them. The groomers as well as the employees there are oblivious and arent respectful towards customers. Skip this place if youre going to try out their grooming salon. My poor dog still needs a groomer :(
Not Knocking Petsmart but the employee we encountered was extremely rude. We wanted to buy a Gerbil for our kids and we had already picked out a cage....apparently the cake we picked out was too small because we were told to go home and do some research.
Shopping by myself with three kids proved challenging when trying to make it back to the car with everything. A cashier offered to help me carry everything and it was much appreciated! Very friendly guy. Wish I would have remembered his name!
The ladies in the grooming department always treat my pit bull Colby great. They do a great job. He always looks and smells great afterwards. Always friendly with him.
Unprofessional! I was addressed as if I was a homie hanging around. Instead of saying “ Hi, may I help you?” He said “ Yo, What’s up!” I said excuse me? Then he changed his tone. Sorry I’m not a homie from the block!
The staff is always friendly and greeting not just us but our dog too. They are quick to open another register if the lines start to get long.

This grooming salon caged my dog for three hours instead of calling me to tell me they would be behind. This location already has a bad reputation for leaving animals in the back for a long time, one in 2014 even resulted in a death of a beautiful Newfoundland. Take your pet elsewhere.
Every time I go into that store there have nothing I need dont understand why they cant keep shelves supplied with cat food that I need for my cat never have it
I brought my baby here to get groomed and Aysha did an amazing job! I completely loved how cute & happy my girl looked when I got her back.
Love Pet Smart one of the reasons I go there is to get what I need for our 5 cats. And the bonus for going there is to see the cats up for adoption🐱
I ve been going to petSmart groomers over a year and have never been disappointed. The employees are always professional and explain exactly what my dog went through or if my dog had any issues.....my dog is a smaller 15yr old senior and sometimes pain in back legs and cannot see well....so its important to have someone understanding of sudden movements as it may startle her. At my dogs age I want her cut short for her comfort. Petsmart hours are very convenient, my day off is monday, well most others are closed. Im very happy with petsmart.
Always excellent service! I often go out of my way to go to this petsmart because the staff are so friendly and helpful. Plus i got my very first cat there!❤

I bought nightcrawlers for my axolotl and first of all, they were advertised as 12 nightcrawlers and there was probably only about 9 in there and one was already dead. It was very thin, bright pink, and just looked like it had been dead for a while.
Nice store, I brought some stuff for my new fish tank that Im taking care the fishes for my brother in law cuz he and my sister is moving to Colorado.
Really high prices, along with only two employees on the floor, one of them a cashier. Urine around every turn.With prices that high you would think the store would have more help, or a cleaner store.

They have fantastic groomers, in particular, Adrienne,is wonderful. She used a grinder on my dogs nails. Then helped me find exactly the collar I needed to help with leash pulling. Btw, shes my daughter.
Theyll match lower prices of competitors, and be sure to check their website because you can save a bundle over their off their store prices. This makes savvy shoppers happy.
Please update your hours. It says you are open until 9pm on Sundays in particular, I arrived at 8 to find you were closed. Very frustrating.

Hard to find employees when u need help with something or have a question, specially by the Fish area. Also not enough registers opened, making customers spend more time waiting in line.

Standard corporate retail experience. High prices, non friendly staff and waiting in line. Unfortunately it was the closest place to get what I needed. Much rather go to a small pet shop but they are few and far between these days.

Worst place ever. Selling Guinea Pigs with eye infections. I would not recommend going here to get ANY animal as it is odvious hey do not check for sickness on anything.
The blonde lady by the fish is very nasty and rude and belittles people. Had a very condensending attitude with me and other customers and even with the other employees. Very sad :(

2022-04-20I love this PetSmart! the grooming staff is very sweet to all the animals in there, the cashier always greets everyone walking in, and everyone asks if I need any assistance. I used to go to the one in Willoughby but this place has excellent staff and stock!! thank you to everyone person who works here! my pup and i always leave with a smile!!

2022-02-13Staff gave us permission to use a flat bed cart to buy a heavy tank stand as we where going into the check out line another employee came up and very rudly demanded us give the cart back because she needed it took my stand off the cart dragged it to the register and then left it with us not having anything to help us take our stand to the car then proceed while where checking out she brought the cart up with a tank on it and just left in the front of the store and it just sat. The rude staff couldnt be respectful enough to wait an extra 5 mins for us to finish with it and the manager didnt care at all

2022-02-01Prices were marked lower on the shelf. Both products I bought were $2.00 higher when I checked out. What I assumed was a $25.00 purchase turned into almost $30.00. If only one was marked wrong, that could be a mistake, not two.

2021-10-09Great! We got 2 crested geckos and they helped immensely to make sure we had everything we needed. And one passed away so when we brought him back, they were really understanding and gave us our money back.

2021-11-17Shopped for years until today when I made a return that was defective and the cashier had a very disturbing attitude and asked how I didnt notice the damage before I bought it. I made the return just 2 hours after I got home and how was I to notice any defects when the product came in a box?? I felt insulted and highly disappointed in the employees lack of customer service!!
