A fun place to visit with a family or friends. Theres a nice lake with plenty of access for fishing with kids. There are several walking trails here that are primarily flat and easy walking. Its not uncommon to see Amish buggies and horses here. The Amish fish here, especially on Saturdays.
Great walking trails. The place is actually alot bigger than I expected. Its also super close to my house so that makes it a plus!
My husband, 4 great grandsons, mommy to the boys & me went fishing. Papa & the boys had so much fun.

Nice morning walk. Not many on track. Track is in good condition. Now I made room for more turkey! Several decorated rocks laying around so keep eyes open and find some gems!

Beautiful place. We visit often. Great trail to walk. Also good to just go and have a cookout or just learn about and explore nature. We love it.
We went to the family fall festival hosted by the parks. It was a small fun event for families with children. A crisp autumn day, it was sunny, and nice to be outside.
Some lake, with walking path. Many people cone here to run, walk and fish. There is a pavilion up on the hill of the lake. All around parking.

I guess if you like to fish its an OK park. Other than that, its basically just a loop track around the lake. I come here at least once or twice a summer. The walking track is hot in the summer due to lack of trees and the portion on the hillside where there are trees its muggy and buggy. Best to walk in cooler weather.
Do the mindfulness walk. It sounds hokey and it is but its beautiful and peaceful.

We just went on one of the trails. Nice scenery. Fun things for my 7 yr old to do. Simple and fun family outing that cost nothing!
A great place, but its just a shame how much trash people leave behind.
Great place to fish and bring the family. However fishing on the opposite side of the lake from the 1st parking lot there are a lot of tics along that bank. Also people who fish here need to clean up after themselves better. I left with about 50yrds of used fishing line after my girlfriend got her feet tangled in it.

If using GPS, just prepare as you enter, for it to tell you to turn around or recalculate a handful of times. Ignore it, continue on the path, and youll arrive at the baseball field. Its a nice field, except for the infield. The mound needs leveled, most kids could roll an ankle, so thats the only negative. Other than that, the views are relaxing and beautiful.
Great place! Nice views and easy for kids! Also check out the meadow trail and the new trails they made a few years ago. Theyre called the mindfulness trails that are separate from the main lake trail. Worth checking out.
Very clean. Nice new features have been added since I was there last. Great place to take my dogs for a walk and get some exercise for myself.
Nice Stark Park, crushed gravel was easy to walk on and it was fairly level...the loop trail.On the Mindfulness walk, now I know to go back the way I came after the labyrinth to get back to where you parked(signage for this would have been nice). Otherwise you keep following the signs for the Mindfulness walk and end up back on the Loop trail and have to follow the road back to your car...😕Other than that, very nice park
Very clean and nice track. The track is gravel so unfortunately no strollers. Beautiful nonetheless. Caught some smallies pre spring so this will be my new go to for a quick cast.

It was ok. Thats it. I didnt step foot in the one portajohn i saw , so I cant give my opinion on that. Some of the steps could use some fixin up. But it does have nice views and fun little things to do along the paths

Nice place for a walk. Path is fine grave - not paved or cushioned. Some slight inclines and not many benches. Its a quick walk around the lake - 30 minutes or so. Very pleasant. People on the path are very nice. Lake is beautiful to see. Picnic shelters are nice. They need to be reserved and rented if you are planning a picnic unless you want to take your chances that no one else will be using them. Fun place for kids to fish.

Lakefront Pavilion is beautiful!Mindfulness Walk is great and so are the other paths. I’ve had zero luck with fishing here but that is a popular activity as well.
Nice walking path and fishing.
Its a nice place to go for a quick walk with several trails to pick from. I typically take the one around the lake because its mostly open so I dont have to worry if Im alone. It doesnt seem to be a bad area but I wouldnt recommend trusting anywhere in Canton due to incidents in parks. The lake trail is approximately 1.3 miles I believe it said. Its a dirt trail for the most part with not many hills but with a brisk pace can make for excellent cardio. Theres also pavilions around the other side with views.
Since I first came to Petros about a year ago this has been by far my favorite park to visit. I come here to exercise, to sit and spend time with God, enjoy the essence of nature, walk and talk with friends... I absolutely love this park. It is so peaceful and its safe. This park is definitely blessed and the presence of God is all around the property. They are dog friendly they have doggy poo stations, many places to sit and relax, there is a wide variety of scenery here to enjoy. You can even come here to fish and you do not need a license!! There is little to no bird feeces from the ducks and the geese. Its not over crowded with them either which is nice and they will not bother you or beg for food. I recommend ignoring them and they will leave you alone. I said hello to a goose yesterday and it hissed at me so dont do that. Other than that I spend hours here at a time. Its such a great environment! I pray the name of Jesus over this post and the photos I have shared, that this review would reach out to those who may come here be blessed. 🤍
Nice lake and trail but they didnt let you know from where we parked and started walking that the little bridge was out almost to where we parked and we had to turn around and go back the way we came. Stark County Parks should be ashamed🤷
Good for a workout or for young walkers. Well maintained, its just a little lackluster. Could use some playground equipment.
Was suprised there wasnt one break anywhere on the lake of a sign of fish feeding no bites. Guys must feed then pellet food everyday. Nice walking area. Wont fish there again. 750 Trout put in ? What year? Agree , it sucks same here. Sharkey.
It Was Nice!I Really Liked The Fact That The Whole Entire Park Was Clean - No Cigarette Butts, Drink Bottles, Wrappers, Etc. Were Anywhere But In The Trash Cans.Every Time Ive Went, The Park Always Seems Nicely Kept Up With.

I live for this park! So big, beautiful, and well kept! I wish they would expand and make it even bigger, honestly! You can tell they really respect the wildlife, you will never see litter at this park. I love bringing my husband and my dog here. Awesome.

Very nice with many paths. Big and open enough to not be crowded with many people there. Ball park. Plenty of parking. Kept clean with many worthwhile views. Great place to take your dog(s) for a walk.
Petro Parks new Mindfulness trail, part of Stark Parks, is wonderful. It has a little library at the beginning of the trail. We stopped back at the end of our hike. On the trail itself there are different stations to stop and relax and enjoy quiet moments. The trail goes throw woods, meadow, hillside, and lakeside trail areas. Beautiful and relaxing.

Petros Park is great. Ive been furloughed from work and stumbled on it looking for a place to fish with me 5yo son. Very clean grounds and clear water. Pulled out a few rainbow trout and had so much fun weve been back 3 times in the last week. Everyone keeps to themselves and I dont need to worry about COVID or troublemakers....... my son turning his line into spaghetti, thats another story.q
Quiet walking path with challenging inclines. There is a basic covered picnic area with a porta pot. You can fish; however, lake is not well stocked. This place is not very crowded.
Its a really gorgeous lake and trail. My favorite location is at the top pavilion where you can over look the water and feel on top of the world. If youre a pokemon player it isnt a bad location either, theres a gym, 3 or 4 stops, and is great for hatching eggs.
Decent park. Only complaints: not many places near the pond that offer shade so fishing can be far too hot. Also, one side of the pond isnt mowed. If you try to seperate from the crowd Id advise against it. I sat on the unmowed side and was covered in ticks. Removed 57 of them to be exact.
My husband and I come here every day for his lunch break and sit and eat in the pavilion. They have a few different spots to choose from which we have also reserved for my sons birthday. You can also reserve them for other events including weddings. They have one main walking path around the lake that is gravel and they also have smaller paths through the woods and through the meadow. There is a bike lane, you can brings your pets with you to walk and you can even fish, with a license of course. They also do events in the summer time.My only complaint, you can not fly anything here, which isnt my complaint as much as we did not know this was a rule and instead of just telling us the Park Ranger came over to my child and took his helicopter we had just bought and told him he couldnt have it back because he broke the rules then he got in his car and left with it before my son could even tell us what happened.
Its small, but exceptionally well kept. Theres a great walking trail that surrounds the lake. Picnic shelters can be reserved for any occasion, and the park is regularly patrolled by the Stark County Park District Rangers.
I live close to Petros and its very convenient to come here and walk around the lake in the walking path, which is very nice. There is also a bird trail to walk on which is very peaceful. The park is always kept clean and nice and well mowed.
There is something for every outdoor enthusiast here with so many wonderful pathways to lose yourself along. Fishing is always at the ready and the pavilions sprinkled throughout the park are exceptionally nice.
Its such a nice place to walk or run and you can bring your pets they recently replaced their bridge now there are toll signs lol

Its a good place in the city to get countryish exercise and can walk your dogs but they need playground equipment for little kids. I grew up in Wallingford circle in Perry hills and would walk my boxer from my house everyday through the power companys lawn to petros everyday and it was quite a hike.
Great place for fishing, picnics, trail running and spending time with family & friends. Be sure to take the time to check out the Mindfulness Walking Trail; what a meditative experience!

Very clean, beautiful place to walk. The track is only like a mile and a half I do believe and has separate trails that take you thru the brush if you choose to go down them.

I been going there since I was a kid and let me just say its went way down hill... I dont think they even take care of it anymore. The people around there (most of them) look like zombies. Im good on all that trash

Everyone was nice but this guys kicked a dog in front of everyone and the two people where yelling bad words at each other in front of my children. I dont know if were coming back but the rest was ok. I think you guys should take care of that.

Its a beautiful public park. People from all the local businesses come to walk on their lunch breaks. It is very well maintained by Stark Parks.

2022-06-21Great little lake to hang out with my boys and fish. Theyve caught bass, catfish, blue gills and rainbow trout here. Pretty amazing for the size, really!

2022-04-08If you go for the walking trails then you are good to go. Its nice a scenic with plenty of spots to sit and rest if needed. If you go for the fishing, well thats why there are three stars here. Only about a quarter of the water is acceptable so unless you are willing to fight through the thorn bushes you are left to fish a over fished area with not even a bluegill in sight.

2022-04-17One of my favorite local get away spots. Theres so much to do all around its perimeter. From the mile long track around the lake, to the off track trail that laps you with beautiful scenery to the fun little activities set up throughout it. Bring your kids or furbabies, walk or jog til you find one of the hidden benches &embrace the beauty around you. Plus theres fishing &a gazebo area where you can rent for birthdays, anniversary parties, family reunions and more. When Im having a bad day, this is a place I find my center peace again😏✌️❤️🙏

2020-07-28We come here quite often and we love it. It has a great walking track around the lake with a bridge and several other nature paths you can walk on. It also has pavilions with picnic tables, and one has a volleyball pit. You can also rent the pavillions for parties. (Not sure about now during the pandemic) You can bring pets and you can fish here. Its a great place to get some exercise or just walk and enjoy nature.

2019-08-22Great long walk to escape. Mile long new wellness walk from SC Mental Health is awesome... Lots of benches and great scenery. Is about .8 mile around, takes about 12 to 15 minutes around, even has great little coves for fishing and absolutley beautiful in autumn.
